Hey everyone. I could definitely use some motivation. So this game is ideal. I think my first week is going to be a little tense as i finish all my finals and get everything packed up to go home but hopefully it can keep me accountable and help me end my school year on a high note!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!

:welcome3: to all! I'm ready for the new game. I started my day as usual with a 4 mile walk with my neighbor. I came home and did an hour of TurboKick. I still want to go try to do a 15 minute run, but we'll see about that.

Craig ran/biked a duathalon Sat. He did great, and I really wish I could do them with him. I am going to try to start a running program and see what happens with my ankle. I am very scared to screw either of them up and go thru another surgery, but I need to find out if it's possible for me to do it cuz I got really depressed watching everyone race and not be able to join in.

Well, a typical Monday-lots of teaching this afternoon and early evening. 2 weeks left before their recital and then I'm free from that for the summer!!!! I don't have to babysit at all this week. Sis has 1 week off between semesters. I'll only have them once a week for the next semester too! I'm not sure what I'll do with all the free time!

I'll be back later!

cereschick-Welcome. Good luck on your finals. What are you studying?

JasonsLea-Welcome.

tete-Welcome. What kind of dogs do you have? I've got a beagle and a humane society special (aust. shepherd/chow/lab mix).

Morning, morning, morn-ing!!!!

Wow, I feel really good about this game. I am so pumped and motivated to get serious. I know , I know...you've all heard me say this before. But this time I really mean it. What have I got to lose? So I am sticking with my plans. No more monthly goals. I think I'll set game goals. It'll be easier to track that way.

Game 4 goals
Excercise-at least 3 points daily
food-at least 3 points daily
water-at least 1 point daily

Wendy-great job on the new recruits. you are the man!! I was getting scared there for a minute because it seemed like all our players were leaving.
hope you are feeling better this week. I am ready start SI6 this week, too. are you with me??

brandy-ah, lucky you. free time. i can't wait to take a week off from work. must be nice for you. how was friday's hair appt. by the way?

tete-4 dogs??!! how fun!! i love dogs. they should be able to keep you moving!!

cereschick-glad your school year is almost up. now here comes summer and now you can really dedicate yourself to losing weight. too bad work isn't like that. I would love summers off!! good luck on your finals.

Shari-I am going to start getting into walking again. i think it is the easiest and best excercise out there. i hope you start today and stick with you plan. you can do it girl!!!

Have a great day everyone. talk to ya later!!

Rosario-I like the positive attitiude. It's our turn to kick butt around here!
Welcome to all the newbies!

Well, today is going to be crazy. I need to pay my bills, go to grandmas, go to school, i have my guitar final, and I have to prepare everything for tonight because it's our three year anniversary. Plus, I think i wanna try and mop my floors sometime in between everything! I am going to make meatloaf, not very healthy, but his favorite for dinner. I will eat a large salad with mine and only one piece. Tomorrow I'm really gonna start. I've written out an exercise plan and my meals. I need to loose some before my mom gets home.
Well, hope you all have a great day!

Hi guys-I talked myself out of the run. I am such a slacker:( . Maybe I'll do it when I'm done teaching tonight. I also hit the top of my maintenance flop for weight. (Not suprised after this weekend). SO...I'm back with a vengance for this week. My goal is to lose 2 pounds for the week. I should be able to do this cuz I'm sure at least a pound I have on me now is water weight.

Here come my first students. See ya later.

Hi to Everyone!! I am so excited to be joining in on the game!! I am pround of myself today...I was starving when I had to leave from my kids school and drive an hour or so to Syracuse. I drove by the Dunkin Donuts, Burger King and McDonalds without too much hesitation, and went to the grocery store and bought a container of Fresh fruit to nibble on instead! It felt good to stay in control!!

Brandy--You are nowhere near a slacker!! 4mile walk and an hour of turbo kick is fantastic!! Yeah to Craig!! Can you walk/bike the duathalon? :?: I know if would not be much of a race that way, but atleast you would be participating.:) By the way, what do you teach?

Rosario--Wow...3 points daily for exercise, what will you be doing?? You go for it!!

la3y unicorn37--Where was your bike trip?

Well, I am looking forward to many chats!!

Hey guys-
I've been away for awhile so here is a re-intro :p I'm Emily sahm to 4. I'm just trying to eat less and move more- I've lost 13 lbs since mid- January (had lost more, but that's the corrected total- lol). Pretty much took the last 6 weeks off- 2 weeks to give my body a "break"- then 2 weeks vacationing and the last 2 weeks I've been exercising, but eating like crap. So actually I am really very happy with only 4.5 lbs back on.
But I'm ready to get serious again and this game really works for me! Today was great to get back to the water and healthier eating. :D

Today is going great. I got an A on my guitar final and in the class! YEAH for me! I made chocolate covered strawberries and pinapple for desert (semi healthy LOL!)! I can't wait til Tony gets home. I have the table set with candles and roses and got Sprakling White Grape Juice (our fav) and I spelled out I love you with Hershey Kisses on the coffee table. Plus, I got a lotto ticket with a tag attached that said I hit the jackpot when I found you and got a fish that says You're the only fish in the sea for me! I am so sappy, but I love doing stuff like this! I can't believe it's been three years already. Well, gotta go make his card. TTYL!!! Have a great night!

I got all pumped up after reading the thread. I finally went to the gym (*the one I have been paying a membership fee to for the past year and hardly gone:( )

But I managed to do the eliptical for 20 minutes and the stairmaster for another grueling 20 minutes. I have made my commitment to go at least 5 days a week. After all I am paying for it! And I have got to get over the intimidation factor! Everybody has to start somewhere.

Hope everybody has a good day tommorrow.:carrot:

Umm, kinda bad day today. I didn't overeat (:)), I overslept, barely passed the recommended daily 20 pts, and didn't exercise. Barely got my water too. :(

BUT I found out that I weigh less than I thought. Monday's are my officialy weigh in days but I wasn't able to do it last monday because I couldn't get to a scale. Finally broke down and brought my own scale last weekend, weighed myself and saw that I weighed 249.8. But I must have looked at it wrong cause when I weighed myself today, I saw that my weight was actually 245.8! And I know that I couldn't lose 4 lbs in a day ESPECIALLY with TOM! So I guess that a good thing. :)

Hi there, just found the chat. So far alls well with the challenge. Was just wondering how the inches thing works. Do you add up the different measurement losses or just take it from the waist?
And I was also wondering who won the challenge last time and what their total points were.
Anyway, hope you all have a great and healthy day

Rosario

Good morning ladies. I hope everyone is off to a good start.

Well i did not get all the excercise points that I was aiming for yesterday. I did get my 1/2 hour of walking in (i am following this walking plan by Leslie Sansone and the first week is only 30 min walks) I did way better on eating too. I'm going to get home a little earlier today so I hope I won't be too lazy to get my SI6 in. I so want to start it again. It's hard work, but there are amazing results.

Brandy-slacker my butt lol. I have seen you work the hardest here. And now you are maintaining. Now you can enjoy the life!

Nail Lady-great willpower. I am lacking in that dept. send some of yours my way. My 3 points of excercise are supposed to be coming from walking and My Slim in 6. But 3 points is nothing. Keep track of Brandy. She usually brings in 6 or more points!!!

BrendaLee-we all have those slow motivation days, so don't worry about it. just stick with it and when you see your hard work paying off, that will be motivation enough.

Emily-great to have you back. now that your back from your hiatus, I hope your ready to get your butt in gear. :)

MtaTJac-I know exactly how you feel about those measurements. Look at mine. I'm like a deformed pear. But, hey that's why we are shedding all our blood, sweat, and tears-to change our bodies. So hang in there!

Angela-I hope last night was awesome. All those things you did sounded really sweet. Tony is lucky to have you.

Katallan-hey, awesome workout. The hardest part is gathering the courage to actually go to the gym, but once your there you are is good as gold. and you proved that yesterday!!

Wendy-glad you smilies are working. I know how devestated you were when they quit on you!!

Shari-a day of not overeating is always a good day in my book. i am happy that your scale is lower than you thought. what a great thing to keep you moving.

jayarthur-you add up inches lost from wherever you measure. i usually do bust, waist, and hips. I don't know who had the most points last challenge, but like we always say...we are all winners.

Welcome to Courtnie, CherokeeAngel, LadyTiger, Sakai, and all the newbies. Hope you guys find this challenge as helpful as I have!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a good one!!!

Morning all! I'm another newbie. My screen name is miasmom. Mia is one of my cats :) Barkley is the other. I was looking around for some motivation and luckily I found this challenge right when it was starting. I got 11 points yesterday! The exercise points are what bumped me up-I've started walking home from work(1.5 miles) so that bumps up my total. Exercise point won't always be that high!

Nice to meet(read) y'all!!!

Hi gals! It is so cool to see this thread so active. We kicked butt on our 4 miles and did it in 58 minutes this morning!!! Took a short break to talk to hubby before he left for work, then did an hour of turbo. I feel great. Today is fun errand day. Gotta get my allergy shot, do some iridology training, then go play in my polymer clay class. I have a make up piano lesson to teach and then we're going bike riding.:D God I love how much my new lifestyle allows me to do!!

Rosario-Great job getting that walk in!! That paired with a good day of eating is a terrific start to the game.:D I know I'm not a slacker, but I also know I'm scared to start running, and that's why I backed out yesterday. I want to get over my fear and do it, but I'm having trouble.:(

miasmom-Welcome. Great job on the points yesterday. Its cool your able to walk back and for to work! What a great way to fit it into your schedule.

jayarthur-WE ALL WON! Seriously, I don't know. As for the inches, I total from chest, waist, abs, and hips, but you could also keep track of arms, thighs, and calves.

tete-WOW! I wish I had room for more than the 2 I have, but alas, I dont. Great job getting out with them. I take mine on short walks-not my 4 mile ones. My beagle will honestly stop, lay down on the side of the road and bark at you when she gets tired. My hubby has actually had to carry her home because she refused to walk.:lol3:

JasonsLea-Congrats on the loss!! Dont let a bad day get ya down. Jump back in today starting anew!

Wendy-Glad you finally got those smileys moving. :boxing: :whoo: :tantrum: :sumo: I think those are so cute!!

katallan-Glad your finally getting your money out of that gym membership!! Great start on that exercise routine.

nail-lady-Good choice. I love snacking on fruit. And don't you just love how you feel after choosing something healthy and sticking to it!

Lydia-Glad your weekend was awesome. I remember those long distance relationship days. Craig and I did 4 years of that! We lasted through it and it sure was worth it. This year Nov. will be our 10 yr. anniversary!!!!

Brendalee-Please be careful with your calories. I think you are to low. I don't want you to get sick:(

Emily-So glad you're back. Sounds like you had a needed rest and vacation and are back into things ready to go!!! Great job on the exercise, and good luck getting that eating back into the groove.

Angela-I hope you had a terrific night. I would say tell us all about it:o , but my innocent ears might not be able to handle it. :lol3:  I hope you had a fantastic time. It sounds like he is the luckiest man in the world with all you did!!!

Good morning all!

Brandy - you are an inspiration! 4 miles in under an hour! And then an hour of turbo!!:bravo: You rock! I'm done after 20 mins on the treadmill, and I don't even make a mile :(

miasmom - My hubby's name is Barkley, LOL! I have 3 cats. 1 female, Libby, and 2 boys, Persi (aka Fatty, I'm not the only one in my "family" to have a weight problem... we just started calling him that one day... now he thinks it is his name... poor thing!) and Bear. I wish I could have dogs too, like some of the others in here, but we're in a 1 bedroom apartment style condo (only 730 sq ft) no way we could stuff another animal in here! Good job on rockin those exercise points!

Well, I'm gonna try and get 2 exercise points for today... we'll see how it goes!

Lydia-Glad your weekend was awesome. I remember those long distance relationship days. Craig and I did 4 years of that! We lasted through it and it sure was worth it. This year Nov. will be our 10 yr. anniversary!!!!

Wow, 4 years! I don't know if I could take that! After this trip, he and I came to the conclusion that we probably won't be doing the long-distance thing for too long... one of us is going to have to move! He lives in Connecticut, I live in Texas, so it's really long-distance. I probably won't get to see him again until August/September :( But yeah, 10 years... congratulations! That is really, really awesome.

I'm so worn out from this weekend, though. Lack of sleep (only got an hour night before last) and feeling a blue about him leaving made me pretty unmotivated yesterday, but I'm hoping to channel the little energy I have right now into something positive. I got a small workout in this morning and I'll probably go for a long walk later. Should be nice.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!!!

LadyTyger: My cat Mia is also referred to as Fatty, or Big Lump O'Kitty! Barkley is in better shape, although she could stand to lose weight too...We are in a small condo too, so no doggies. Yet. Actually, I think it would probably just traumatize the cats!

For years(literally) I said that technically I could walk to work but I never did. When they decided to increase our parking rates 250% and the price of gas went so high, I conducted an experiment(coincidentally during Earth Week!) There is a free shuttle that leaves about a block from my condo, so I started taking that in the AM and then walking home in the afternoon. It was great! Some days (like today) I walked to work and will walk home. We'll see if I'm this enthusiastic in the winter..

Miasmom-I wish I could walk to work. By the way, I noticed you are not too far from me. I'm in Lawrenceville. Anyway to walk to work, I would have to take 2 buses and a train. Technically, that really isn't walking. everyone who is able to walk to work should thank their lucky stars that they can!!

Lydia-I did the whole long distance relationship with my bf too. We only lasted six months before I decided to move over here to be with him. From Los Angeles to Atlanta. Phew, what a move. It was so hard and I hated it. but knowing that we were gonna be together always got me through it. so keep that in mind when you're sad or missing him. by the way, i will never do long distance again....it is too, too hard for me. love your photo too!!

Holly crap Can you really gain 7lbs in a week and a half. YES YOU CAN. I know I should have not stepped on that scales but I need to know the damage but I didn't assume 7lbs. Damn it I thought I was finally out of the 190 but guess not screwed up very bad food choices and no gym at lunch really screwed me up. When I use to eat something bad because of all my excerise it always equaled it's self out. But because I did none aty lunch it didn't :(
I am very upset  with my self for letting myself do that.

I can't believe it. I am glad I saw it but damn I didn't like it. I am so glad I went to the gym and did my Firm class I feel so better that I finally broke the habit. Now I just have to keep going. :( I just can't belive 7lbs :(

Brit and I have been together for 3 months now, we've known each other for about 10. Little did we know when we became friends that things would turn out like this! Like you, that's what keeps me going... knowing that we WILL be together. One day, we'll be together without 2000 miles between us. In the end, it'll be worth all the struggle and we'll be better off for it.

How long have you and your boyfriend been together, if I may ask?

La3y~Congrats on the inches lost!!! That is FANTASTIC!!

Nikki~Good for you on going back to the gym, I know how hard it can be to get back into it. Good luck with boxing tonight!!

Lydia~Happy you had a nice weekend with your sweetie. I too know the heartache of a LD relationship, my husband and I did that for over a year, then I decided to move closer so we could be together. Now, we have been married for over 11 years, so it can be done, it just takes trust, patience and lots of love! Luck to you both, happier days are ahead.:goodluck:

Angela~Congrats on 3 years!! It sounds like you went all out, he is a lucky man, I hope he knows it!

Brandy~Fantastic walk, 4mi in 58 min, then add the hour long workout to that, plus a bike ride tonight....you inspire me to do more!

Miasmom~Great job on the exercise points!! You are so lucky to be able to walk to work. We are out in the country and it is 9 miles to civilization ~ great bike ride, but don't think that I am up for that walk just yet.

Rosario~I think that 3 points is great for exercise, that is 1.5 hours!! Besides, each point counts!!

I did not do too well today, I did start out the day with a workout, but then I got weak at lunch and had a piece of cake. Granted it was small, but still, I should have passed. All I can do now is try harder to resist.

I will do alot of walking tonight at the ball field, going between the 2 fields that my boys will be playing on, so that will help some.

Good luck to everyone for a great day! Chat again soon.

Lydia-I met my bf in Oct. of 2003, but technically, we've been together since July of 2004...so it'll be 2 years in July. that isn't anything compared to the other ladies who've survived long distance relationships but it's a start. you guys are still pretty new. I hope it all does work out for you in the end. you just hang in there!

nail-lady-are you depriving yourself of points? excercise points are 1 every 20 minutes. so 3 points would be 1 hour. I hope you aren't short-changing yourself. lol

Hello. Last night went great. He was so suprised. And dinner was so good! I will not eat at 1 in the morning ever again! Today, I went to my grandmas to help her in her garden. I was out there for a while and it was good exercise. I am so tired. I went to bed at like 2 and had to get up at 8 so I could take my bf to get his car cleaned! I'm exhausted. I don't have to get up that early ever bc I just go to school and clean and sometimes babysit! Well, ttyl!

Hey newbie here, would love to join the game.
I've been really slack lately and need the challenge to kick my butt back into gear.
I'm a mother of two and recently left my job to be an at home MOM. I'm still adjusting to not working and having more time on my hands.
Unfortunately being at home equals temptation to eat YUCK.
I'm in New Zealand so I'm a day ahead of you all so I hope it isn't too confusing when I post my results a day ahead of you.

Since I have started this BTB game I'm grateful for the challenge because it gives me an incentive to excercise and eat right! For the past two days I've kept right with my calorie goal and excercise and my husband has been very supportive this time with helping me too eat the right choices. He hasn't always .. buying all the snack foods that call my name! lol
I know... but this time I have my mind made up..I have to get this weight off!
i need all the help I can get

Rosario,
Yes, I guess that I am depriving myself....for some reason I thought it was 1 pt for every 30 min! Thank you for pointing that out to me, I need all the points I can get!!

Last night my son Drew (age 8) was so awsome at Little League! He really nailed that ball everytime he was up to bat and he was SO excited! They won 10-8, so that made it even sweeter for him. Just wish his dad could have been there, but he often works long hours, but he always makes the weekend games. My husband is a local truck driver and thankfully is home each night, but sometimes too late to make it to the weeknight games.
I will be back at the ball field again tonight, my youngest, Alex (age 6 today!) will have his T-ball game and Drew has practice too. Busy, Busy!

Chaarli~Welcome to the group!

cherokeeangel~Congrats on keeping with your program!! Great work! "Yeah!" to hubby for being supportive too!

Everyone have a great day!

Happy Wednesday All! Or if you are in New Zealand Happy Thursday :)

Excellent day food-wise yesterday. Didn't go to the gym, but walked to and from work. I did go out last night and buy a new pair of work-out shoes. They are Asics and they rock. They are the only shoes that work for me and I'm willing to pay full price.

Rosario-I moved out here from LA too! With a man(we are no longer together). Where in LA did you live?

Going to work on getting two points for water today!

Great to see how well you're going and how motivated you are.
Thanks to all the 'oldies' for your warm welcome. It's great to be part of this challenge and to share the experience.

Good morning everybody!!

First off I got to say, everybody is doing awesome with points. You guys all rock!!!

I haven't gotten back into SI6 yet (or my 3 points a day, shame on me). But at least I am eating better. Maybe one day I will be in sync in both areas. There's really nothing new going on with me. So that is all to report.

miasmom-i was in East Los Angeles. What a coincidence, I came here to live with a man too!! I'm sorry it didn't work out with your guy. what part of La did you come from? do you plan on moving back??

wendy-how fun!! hope you enjoyed dancing. I haven't mustered up the courage to go with my bf dancin yet. he's a hottie and i don't think I could take girls staring at him all night long!!

cherokeeangel-that's exactly how i feel about this game. although I havent been as commited to it as I was in the beginning it does help you out in the long run. it gives you that little extra push that you need.

tete-puppets? how interesting. how did you get started with that?

Charli/jayarthur-lucky you!!! I wish it was thursday over here already!

Tyler / Alicia - She's my beloved Samoyed, she's 10 yrs old and her name is Bola (Ball), she's a retired therapy dog, she's not as patient as she used to be, but we love her any way...including all the fur in our clothes, furniture, bed, and everywhere you can think of... but we don't care really.

She's a doll! My two Pyrs are old, too -- one is 12 and the other 11, quite old for that breed. We get the same fur issues.... plus lots of drool as an added bonus! :rain:

Well, I havn't been on since Monday. My daughter's class went to the zoo yesterday and I had 3- 7 year old girls walking around the zoo from 10:00a-12:30pm. I didn't count that since it was start and stop kinda walking. But I did get in 3 1/2 miles that evening. I've been walking for 1 hour for the last 5 evenings. I really enjoy it, especially after I'm done!!! lol
I really want to get down. I did have a NSV. I've been able to get rid of my size 20 pants and skirts and start wearing my 18's again!! Woo-Hoo!!!
Good luck to everyone and I'm really impressed with everyone on their exercise points!

Rainy day here in connecticut blah

Hello girls 2 points is better then none :)

I went to the gym again 2nd day in the row:carrot: go me strating to get back into it. I am beat from yesterday thought 45 minutes of The Firm at lunch 1 hour of boxing and 1 hour of sparring (fighting) I am beat but feeling good at the sametimes does that make sence hmmmm. The only bad part of that is you come home starving and ready to eat a cow...LOL But I didn't made toast put jelly on it and that was that even though icecream and cookies were calling my name

So I was talking to this guy who started telling me hey lost 30 lbs in 12 weeks since he started I was like wow. He was saying how tough it is to lose weight. His wife just laughed he don't get the it's easier for a guys to lose weight faster. He still eats like crap and only because he does boxing and kickboxing he loses weight how is that possible all I do is smell brownies and gain 5 lbs. It's just not fair. But whatever good for him :0)

So I have to say my 4 year old son is so funny. I was complaing like usual about being Fat and my son comes out of no where mommy your not fat your chunky. I just started dying of laughter. Then I am asking my self well the **** did he get that. I rather be chunky then fat....LOL

I guess I better get some work done BYE :dizzy:

nik-yea guys do suck. i hate it too that they lose weight easier. Argh!! your son is very smart. any woman would rather be called chunky than fat!

exquisitern-good job on those hour walks. congrats on fitting into your 18's. I can't wait to fit into mine!

wendy-in my opinion, that's one of the drawbacks of losing weight. your alcohol tolerance goes down. lol glad you had fun dancing

Well I got my 40 minute walk in on my lunch. woohoo for me. 2 points down. i think 4 to go!! I definitely feel good about today. I was disappointed with my lunch. Mine got mixed up with the in-laws so I didn't get a weiner. And I was looking forward to it too. So all I had was lentils. I have snacks around me so I hope I don't get to hungry cause I'm bound to eat em all. 5 more hours!!!

Hey gals-another quickie before my first student arrives. Last nights bike ride ended up being 14 miles long! I slept in this morning (walking buddy had a meeting) and then did a killer spin class. My legs are a bit sore after the long ride and intense class. I'm supposed to have a softball game tonight. I'm praying the rain holds off. It'll be the first game when some of the girls will be there (they're finally out of school!) Hope we don't get rained out.

I had a bad afternoon for food, but am refusing to let it turn into a bad day of food. I'm turning it around right now! Wish me luck. Well, I'm off to teach. Check back after my game.

Had a rough start to the week. I have fibromyalgia and the weather really knocks me down. A stormfront collided with my hormones (TOM) and I spent most of Monday in bed with cramps and joint pain. Did resist my monthly cravings for fatty carbs, chocolate and red meat though (carbs and red meat seem to make things worse, crazy how you can crave what's worst for you).

Anyway, back on track today, even got some activity in (not quite 20 minutes, need to get a little more in before the end of the night. Went to the library and checked out several exercise books, and three videos. Maybe I'll try the yoga tape tonight. Also not quite making my water goal, hopefully today.

Brought home a bellydance book on a whim. Thought it would be fun, but unfortunately my husband saw it, and now he's teasing me (in a good way), but now I'm all embarassed.

Hi Everyone! Sorry I missed posting yesterday. We had bad weather here and it knocked out the power for a few hours. I was at the gym (2nd day in a row!) and managed to get my 40 minutes in by walking the remaining 10!

I was a little slack today:( DH can always sabatoge my "healthy" eating. So I didn't stay with my 1600 calories today. But I did stay around 2400 and did have my healthly snacks and lunch so maybe the damage will be minimal! I did resist the beer and had my water with lemon.

Hope it's a good day tommorrow!

cherokeeangel-don't be so hard on yourself. at least you didn't gain. it could have been a lot worse!
I had a busy day. I decided (because I've been beating myself up so bad lately) that I am going to follow my diet from the dietitian and exercise when I want to and feel like it. For me, because I never know how my day is going to be (thanks to the BiPolar) I have a hard time sticking to a schedule. I'm going to exercise on the days I feel like it. When I pressure myself, I never want to do it. Plus, I beat myself up and make myself feel guilty when I don't. So, my big goal is to not gain, loose when I loose and not feel so stressed from weight loss stress. I did buy some clothes today a smaller size than usual, so that was a plus! TTYL!

Good morning chickies!

Hope you're all having a bright and cheerful morning. I got in 3.6 miles walking before the rain came back this morning. So, that'll help set my day off to a good start. I have spinning later this morning too!!

Softball was a riot last night. We played all but 1/2 an inning in the rain. Including some downpouring rain! We were all SOAKED. We ended up losing by 1 run, but it was a great game all around. We were like little kids playing in the puddles. Except for getting a little cold, we really had fun. :p

tete-Hope your back on today after dinner last night. I successfully stopped my binge before it took over my day. That's a big step for me. Hope your doing well.

chaarli-Great job on the exercise!

jelynn-Congrats on getting in that walk while waiting for practice! So glad your back!

Angela-I love your new avatar! You guys look so happy! Can't remember if I commented, but glad your anniversary went so well!!!! You've been doing awesome lately. (Congrats on the guitar final!) I like your new plan. It is really hard to schedule things when you're not sure how you'll feel. I find if I have a variety of options open to me, I can modify as needed everyday. (Plus, then I dont get down on myself for not sticking exactly to plan). Anyways, hope you have a great day!

CherokeeAngel-Hang in there girl. I agree with Angela-You didn't gain, and that is a victory worthy of a smile.:D

katallan-Hooray for starting a gym habit! 2 days in a row is an awesome start to developing a habit! Great Job.

kaplods-Awesome staying away from the goodies at TOM. I'm glad you're feeling better. It sucks when your body refuses to let you do what you want.

la3y-So sorry to hear about your burn. I hope it heals up fast for you. I can't wait to get camping again. I'm not any help for the eating at camp, but I LOVE hiking, biking, and kayaking when we go. Hubby does lots of swimming, but my idea of swimming is floating on a raft with a good book and a cold drink :beach: not such great exercise, but good for the soul!

Wendy-Glad you had a great night dancing. What a fun way to exercise!!!!

Niki-As always great job on the exercise! Did you use some of your boxing skills :boxing: on that complaining guy? That would have been a hard reaction to resist! Chunky huh, definetly better than fat! I love some of the things kids come up with! They're so fun.

Rosario-I'm seeing an excellent trend in your exercise points. You're doing it consistently!!!!! HOORAY!:carrot: I get a chuckle out of seeing all the new avatars your trying out. I kinda miss seeing your pic though.

equisitern-Congrats on the size going down! Thats my favorite part!!!

nail-lady-I love watching little league games. The kids look so into it and try so hard. Very cute! (Plus you always have someone who just really isn't into the game and finds something funny to distract them-I think that was me.)

miasmom-LOVE new workout shoes. Great job with the good food!

Lydia-Your new avatar is great!!! You look like such a happy couple! I hope your adjusting to being apart without to much heartbreak. I'm thinking of ya.

Why I do that is beyond me bacause then I get mad at myself. I have to try harder on controlling I use to be able to control and I let my self go this past 2 weeks and it seems to be hard to get out of it. "sigh" lets try this again. Hi everyone! So glad to see how well everyone is doing, it keeps me motiviated to stay on plan! Thank you for that!!

Well, last night was Alex's T-ball game...now that was fun to watch! It is so funny to see the kids laying in the outfield, picking clover or sitting in the dirt drawing pictures. They really crack me up!

I did manage to get alot of walking in going inbetween the two fields. My oldest practiced at one end and my youngest's game was literally at the complete opposite end. I won't really count that as exercise, because I would get there and sit a few minutes to watch.

Angela~Congrats on buying a smaller size, That Always feels good!!

Good morning! Wow, i had a bad day for food yesterday. I got my 3 healthy meals but I went on a couple of binges for snacks. Not good!! But I'm ok. I think I have a real problem. I wasn't hungry on my little binges. I couldn't even taste the food. It got me thinking that maybe something is wrong with me. Let's jut see if I can work on my self control.

I do get to go to the gym today. woo hoo. So i'll get my 40 minutes on the treadmill. And if it isn't raining on my lunch I'll go for a 20 minute wlk because I have some errands to do.

It looks like everybody is getting rain lately. Let's all move our wokrouts indoors. Do a tape or dvd to get our excercise in.

wendy-your summer sounds like it is going to be fun. how many times do you plan on going campin?

brandy-glad yu had fun at your game. you'll get 'em next time. about the avatar, i haven't found a pic that I like yet. Maybe I'll get lucky this weekend!

tete-yes tomorrow (or today?) will be a new day. just try to eat less the rest of the week so you don't go over your points.

chaarli and jelynn-great job on getting your excercise done!!

kaplods-glad you are back on track. bellydancing sounds like fun. i actually want to get into that soon. why don't you show hubby some of your moves and that'll shut him up :)

katellan-i like how you look on the positive side of your bad day. I think that is always a big help. gteat job on getting to the gym.

angela-your plan sounds good to me. i hope it is easier for you to stick with it.

lady unicorn-come on girl!! I know you can get those 2 points today!!!

nikki-i knwo exactly how you feel. i've let myself go too these past couple of weeks. and now it is really hard to get back into the good eating and self-control. we just have to take it one day at a time!

Good morning All!
Wow, sounds like everyone is working so hard! and some of your exercise is unbelievable. I added on a 40 minute exercise video this morning. I got a good sweat going before I had to shower. I weigh in at WW today. I hope I lost at least 1 1/2 lbs. I kinda splurged yesterday at lunch. We had a nurses day luncheon and too many tasties to resist, especially that banana pudding, but I made up for it with a WW soup at dinner and walked for 1 hour. I'm really getting into walking, I even had a guy comment on it! He couldn't believe I had gone 3 1/2 miles. Our park has a 1/2 mile circuit and I go around it 7 times.
Still feeling really good!
Good luck to all.
Colleen: Belly dancing sounds fun, I bet your husband will really enjoy watching you!! lol
Artsygirl: Congrats on biking 14 miles!! Also, I've started thinking that way, that one meal doesn't have to ruin a day!
Rosario: Sorry about your lunch. But congrats on the walking.
Wendy: Sometimes it doesn't pay to be social! Wow, 2 hours of dancing! Sounds like too much fun!
Everyone have a great day!!!

Well, it's Thursday! Sounds, and looks! like everyone is doing so well!

I did not get my 2 points of exercise yesterday. Today is another day though, and I have a horseback riding lesson this afternoon, so I KNOW I will be getting some there! My instructor gauges when to end my lesson by how red my face is, LOL!

Well have to get busy, check in later! :D

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and let yall know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. We're having trouble with our computer monitor, so I can't get online at night like I used to be able to. Our replacement one should be here no later than Sunday (thank goodness for warranties!) and I'll be able to be on here a little more then :) Yesterday was a much better day for me, and today has started out well. I'm moving our ps2 in the other room tonight after I get off of work so I can play Dance Dance Revolution to get more exercise points in....I'm so excited!

Off to get some art supplies for Ryan, seems he has the urge to create a painting masterpiece!! I think maybe he has taken after Mommy in the department! Any good ideas for those long days at the lake without a TV??I'll be going to the lake on the 19th and not coming home till all the food is gone! I usually take enough for a week, give or take a day. I'll be out there as much as possible so I won't be around here as much as I'd like. If I could afford a laptop I'd be takin' it with me!!
Have a great day!

Hello Girls

Still Raining her it sucks. I think for another week to. Kids are getting restless.
Kickboxing was awesome last night. But with all this rain and my sleep apnea it's taking a toll on me.

Rosario - I always thought something was wrong with me to. But I think alot of people hve control problems. You just have to of something else to do or eat when the binge starts. Think Thinny. I bought those 100 calorie things (which in WW points its 2) and it really helped me out yesterday they have oreo or peanut butter they are really good with a big glass of water.

Ladytyger - How was that horse ride did you get your 2 points?

Chaarli - I hate scales to :D

Sotypical - Hope your knees feel better. I have bad knees so it sometimes sucks.

Brandy - Where are you your always the 1st to post :)

Whoo hoo I had a 9 point day yesterday! Ended up not having a healthy dinner (no dinner at home, just popcorn at the movie)- but WALKED to and from the movie (and actually ran some too) so that bumped up my exercise points by 2. Hopefully it's all good- lol.
Today I have a busy day. ILs are coming for the weekend and that means cleaning up the basement, making up the guest bed, finishing my laundry, figuring out a menu and shopping, etc. etc. Oh and the "weekend" usually means through Tuesday or Wednesday, lol. Trying to not to be too stressed. It kind of messes my exercise routine up, but I'm going to REALLY try to not let it.

Hey gals-Yes, I've been running late this whole week it seems like. No walk this morning, as it was raining. I ended up doing 2 hours of TurboKick instead. I finally got notification that I passed my certification to teach Turbo if I want to.:carrot: Makes me feel so good to have officially achieved that goal.

I'm going to a comedy club/dinner tonight. I don't know anything about the comedian, but I'm looking forward to a night out.

Nikki-Glad your boxing is going so well still.

La3y-You go girl!!! You've kicked it up a notch:D !

jelynn-Wohoo!!! Wish I lived close enough to walk to somewhere other than a soybean field ;) . What movie? I'm dying to see RV, the previews look hysterical.

Brendalee-good luck keeping those allergies under control. I guess thats one good thing about the rain, keeps the pollen count down.

Wendy-I am so jealous that you get to do so much camping. Craig and I have a hard time getting many trips in cuz he works all week, and I work almost every Sunday. Did Ryan make you a masterpiece with his art supplies?

sotypical-good luck healing up

chaarli-good job getting your exercise in

Hypnotiq-dance dance revolution looks so fun. I wish I could afford the system, but alas, I'll have to stick to my others.

Ladytyger-I haven't been horseback riding since I was about 11. It sure would be fun to try again.

Rosario-I'm the same way with the food binges. My worst this week has been ice cream. I can't seem to stay away, or keep it to a reasonable portion.:o Its a daily battle, but sometimes we can win it.

Sorry if I missed anyone. I gotta run and get a bunch of things done this morning. I hope you all have a terrific morning. I'll check back later this afternoon.

Hey everyone. Things are crazy around here lately. Lots and lots of posts. I did so bad with food yesterday. I did good with breakfast and lunch, but when it came to dinner, forget it. And then, I ate again when my bf got home from work (12 am). I guess I had the munchies. Today is a new day and I'll do better. Think I'm gonna have a salad for lunch. I don't know what for dinner bc I'm suppose to make sourkraut and pork but I'm so sick of saurkraut. My bf loves it so I make it a lot. Maybe I'll get out some Chicken or something! Well, I have an appoitment today and then I'm going to work on my paper.

Phew!!! I don't know what is wrong with me and my eating. I have eaten so much today......I'm ashamed of myself. I make it seem like I don't have almost 80 pounds to lose. The good thing is that I actually want to work out. Huh, maybe when i eat a lot it gives me energy. too bad i didn't eat any good for your foods. Oh well, let's see what I accomplish tonite.

Going out to dinner tomorrow with the in-laws. I'm not so worried because I don't want to spend so much money so I'll probably order something small, maybe a salad. But then again, we are going to an italian restaurant so...yikes!! Let's see how much self-control I have. I think I may use the trick of putting half of the food in a to-go box before eating it all up. Never tried that before!!!

Chaarli-I really love your attitude. You go girl!!

courtnie-i think it's time for yoga!

brendalee-i'm with you on trying harder next week. i always say it but i never actually do it. i hope next week is a better week for the both of us

nik-see your gain wasn't so bad. i am really scared of going to the doctor. i always weigh more on their scales so I'm scared to see that I actually weigh more than what I think. I'm goin by my scale right now. but it may be wrong. maybe one day i'll get the nerve to go and see!

I am so depressed, my husband and I were going to go get something to eat when he started telling me what I could and could not eat. He didn't give me the chance to say what I might want to eat which at that point I got mad.
He said he was just trying to help me out! which I told him I apppreciated, but at least give me the choice. I am not a child. Now he said he is tired of every time I go on a diet we wind up arguing. So now neither one of us is going to eat anything. I just started my diet Monday, I have lost 3 lbs. which is great for me. Good morning gals! Happy Saturday!

I just got back from a 4 mile walk. I am so happy the rain hesitated long enough to get one in today. The comedy club was pretty fun last night. The first 2 comedians were better than the headliner, but she was ok. It was nice to get out and laugh.

I have to teach a bead stringing class this morning. I usually teach beadweaving and the shop owner does the simple stringing class but she's in Florida and now I have to do it. It'll be so much easier than what I usually do!:D I have a sub for tomorrow so I can do the whole mothers day thing with both families. That means I'll be able to do a morning walk before we have to be anywhere.

Jasonslea-Congrats on the new job! What will you be doing and when do you officially start?

Brendalee-Sounds like you're doing well staying balanced with diet and exercise! Congratulations.

Cherokeeangel- Sometimes the people who love us make things the hardest. I am sorry that you're going thru the battle.

Wendy-Did you get to go on Moms' night out? It sounds like fun. So funny that we've been doing these games so long, and I never realized you were an artist too! Hope you're jewelry boxes turned out like you envisioned them. Butterflies and flowers I can do...not sure how my painting a dino would turn out?!

Rosario-I hope your dinner with the IL was fun. This week has been funky for me to. I remember saying I was really going to buckle down and do something this week. All I really did was eat to much. Oh well, I can only take it one day at a time and try to do my best.

Nikki-glad the scale is moving in the proper direction for you.

Angela-How many more papers do you have? Isn't next week your last? Hang in there girl that light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter.

I got to WORST craving yesterday that is not going away: carrot cake. I want CARROT CAKE. So I decided to look for a low[er] calorie recipe online... and I found one that looks really good! 63 good reviews (allrecipes.com) and only 132 calories per serving! Much less than the other recipes I saw that were upwards of FIVE HUNDRED per serving! I can't wait to try it.

If it doesn't rain tonight, my bf and i are going to the drive in. YEAH! I love the drive-in. I'm going to eat a giant salad before I go and take my own popcorn. I have an air popper (bf just bought me) so it's so much healthier. Then I spray I can't believe it's not butter on it instead of the real stuff. Well, gonna go eat some lunch, ttyl!

Hi! I have been having a tough time the past couple days...but I am feeling better now and will stop feeling sorry for myself and get back to it!

Friday morning I got up early, as usual, planning to do my new workout....I just got the Turbo Jam DVD's! Yeah!!! Anyway, as I was walking down the stairs, I slipped and slid down the last 6 on my back. OUCH!! I have a rug burn that is about 12 inches long and 4 inches wide, in the middle of my back and both of the backs of my arms are bruised from trying to catch myself, but atleast I did not hit my head!!
I was pretty sore yesterday, but feeling better today, so I got up early and did the Learn & Burn and the 20 minute workout and what a blast!!!
Today my family wants to take me out to breakfast, so I will try my best to be good and not go overboard....wish me luck, I 'll need it!! :)

Brandy~Congratulations on your certification! Do you plan to start instructing turbo? How long did it take and what was the process to get certified?

TeTe~Wow, that must have been so difficult, but so rewarding to help him answer his own question.

CherokeeAngel~ Sorry you are having a tough time. Communication is key, so maybe if you explain to him that you appreciate his help, but you need to do what works for you, maybe he will see how his instruction can be hurtful. Just a thought. Wish you well!

Haven't posted in a while, hubby has been hogging the computer with his new online role-playing game. And I've been working on renaissance garb, so we can go to the local ren fair this year in costume.

Fitting the bodice was hilarious (hubby wrapped me in duct tape, and then cut it off, so I could use it to make the pattern). Freaked out the cat, a bit.

Hubby is excited about the bellydancing. We've been married almost four years, and when we met, we were both nearly 400 lbs. I've surprisingly, never had too terrible a body image, so I've done some "freestyle" dancing for him before, though I would never have imagined that he would find it so sexy (I was thinking more silly and only a little flirty the first time I did it).
He says it isn't even my body, as much as the fact that I am dancing FOR HIM that makes it so "awesome." Huh, go figure.

Today after church, we went to the bicycle shop and asked about bicycles. Turns out, they can modify any bicycle for me. At my weight, I thought I would need a special bike, but all I need is a bike without suspension, so the seat and frame is stable rather than has any give. On their basic models, this means only replacing the seat (which I would have done anyway, as the ones most bikes come with now, are about as thin as some thong underwear, jeesh, and I thought the old "banana seats" were bad!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well, its still going to be raining around here for a few more days, but again we were able to get our walk in and stay dry today. So, my day's off to a great start. I am starting a no binge for a week challenge this morning. It wont be easy since my students piano recital is Friday and we have a punch and cookie/brownie/finger food yummy reception afterward, but I know I can do it, and it'll make me feel better after I survive. Basically I'm sticking to proper portion sizes of healthy foods and sticking to only eating at meals or 2 snack times a day.

kaplods-I love Ren. festivals. We are excited cuz we found one only about 2 hours away that we're going to attend over memorial day weekend. We never knew about it before this year. We usually go to 2-3 festivals a year. We'd do more, but my weekends off are few and far between so they need to be day trips mainly. I'm so happy you're able to get a bike. I've really fallen back in love with this activity. Used to do it endlessly as a kid, and now I remember why. Hope you get one soon.

Chaarli-glad you enjoyed your walk. I'm really focusing on getting my food back where it should be this week. Good luck to you.

Wendy-It sounds like you're going to have a wonderful upcoming weekend regardless of which activity you choose. Did Ryan spoil you rotten yesterday? I had to break up 2 fights between my niece & nephew and remind them it was mommy's special day and they needed to be extra good. I don't think they've ever been so happy to see me leave as they were yesterday!!

tete-Of course being a mom to dogs and cats count. That all I have too! You really amaze me with all you've accomplished in your hospital visits. It takes a very special person to do the work you do. I'm glad its rewarding for you. Sorry about your weight gain-I haven't done my weigh in yet today, but can pretty much tell I've gained.:o Maintaining is really tricky. Wish it came with instructions.

nail-lady-Hope you're recovering quickly from your fall. It sounds painful. Glad you're enjoying TurboJam. I'll be popping one in for a workout real soon. For certification you go to a day long class where you are studied for form/technique through about 5 hours of actively turboing. You also have to pass a written test, and possible do some hands on group leading. At the end of the day you do a workout specifically where they "grade" you for form, and if you pass that and the written, your certified. It really wasn't hard, but I sure was tired and sore after 5 hours of Turbo in 1 day!!!

JasonsLea-Glad you're able to be so patient for starting your new job. Patience has never been one of my strong points.;)

Lydia-How did your cake turn out? You may have to share the recipe if it was yummy!

Angela-Good luck getting through this last week of school.

Morning All!!! I haven't posted for a while(except on the points board), but I'm still here. I can only post at work and on Friday we threw a retirement party for one of my co-workers so I was running around organizing stuff in the AM. I did pretty well with all the yummy munchies we had but...I ate a lot of fruit and a small piece of cake and two cans of Coke Zero and I felt soooo sick! I hadn't had much sugar at all last week and I guess my systenm just rebelled! Never in my life would I have believed that I would have a low tolerance for sugar!!! I never drink soda anymore and I think that added to my misery. Anyway, a nap and lots of water helped me feel better by later that evening. But no exercise that day:( It looks like weekends are going to be harder with the points. Mostly the food. Oh well, now I know!

Rosario: I grew up in Northridge (yes, I'm a Valley Girl) I was away from CA for seven years for school. When I moved back, I lived in Calabasas, Venice Beach, and Manhattan Beach. I moved to Atlanta 12 years ago. I don't see myself going back to CA to live-too expensive!

Good morning everyone and HAPPY MONDAY!

This weekend wasn't too bad for me. I ate ok and at least got in 20 min. of excercise in each day. Not real strenuous excercise, but excercise nonetheless. It's a new week, and yay for me, I get to start over. I've already had my pb on bread so that should tide me over for a couple of hours until snack time.

Today's Goals-3 healthy meals, 1 point for water, SI6-Start It Up, George Foreman-Walk & Box, and only 1 treat-1 pb cup (I have about 5 in my drawer and the plan is to only allow myslef one a day).

Courtnie-Yoga doesn't do anything for me either. I always skip that part on my SI6. I have never tried pilates. But I hope you are better this week so you can get your workouts in.

Shari-congrats on your job. isn't waiting around for them to call you a b****!! glad you got the call back!

Lydia-yum carrot cake! how was the low cal version?

tete-I think it is awesome what you do. I don't think I would ever be able to do that because I'd be crying my eyes out especially if I was children. The world does need more people like you!

nail lady-ouch on your fall. get better quick so you can break in your in your TurboJam dvds.

brandy-good luck on a no binge week. I am going to try to aim for that too. One day at a time! :)

Yes, LA is very expensive but I love it there so much. I'm planning on moving back after paying off some bills and saving up some money. Good thing is that I have all my family over there to help me out. My bf says he even wants to move over there too!

Hi all Just wanted to say Hi.

Weekend was good not food wise but it was nice anyways. I had a Wendys Burger but it was so freaking good. I am not mad at myself I am over it. It was still so good. It's been months since I had one of those. But it's a new week. I have many plans for next month so I have to lose some weight. I am still trying my hardest to be 185 but June 7th me and honeys anniv. I also have the company picnic on the 24th and I want to be 175. I did excerise this weekend which was a plus since I never get that done. I also bought a jump rope since I have been jumping roping in my classes it's a pretty good work out. It was said 10 minutes of jump roping is half hour of running. phew it is tiring I have to get some work done post later bye

Bellydancing? is that a class you take or is a workout dvd? I would love to try it and I know my hubby would love it to.....lol

Happy Late Mother's Day to all of you mothers. Last week was incredible, but yesterday was a very challenging day with my dh. We'll get through it though. It's better today, and it's a new week....and my weigh in and measurements were VERY encouraging. Hope everyone has a great day and a great week!!

Brandy-thanks for the support, I can't wait until it's over!
I can't believe it's Monday, this weekend flew by! Happy Late Mothers Day. Well, I'm going out to dinner tonight with my grandma and all the female members of the family. Every year, the night after Mothers Day, the Rosery Society from our church has a Mothers Day dinner. We go to a local steak house and have lots of good foods and fun. There are also flowers to win and the grand prize is a huge hanging basket. I can't wait, it's going to be so much fun! Well, hope everyone else's day is going to be great too!

Hope everybody had a great Monday! I have to admit that I blew it this weekend! I am a stress eater and my family sure does put me through some stress:(

I did manage to lose a pound though:carrot: I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped on the scales at the gym this afternoon. Hopefully I will keep up the workouts this week. My parents are here for the week, and even though they continually tell me I need to lose 50 or so pounds, they go to the grocery while I am at work and buy all kinds of candy and cookies! And I am not talking about one bag. I am talking about 3 family size packages of cookies and another 4 bags of candy!

This is going to be a very hard week!

Hi all! Haven't posted in awhile, just been out and about! Had a rotten weekend. Hit a deer with my car on Sat. Took a bad fall off my horse on Sun (actually my horse fell too). Feeling pretty battered. Covered in bruises on my right side, from head to mid thigh. But I'm alive!! Hope you're all doing well! Let's keep it going for week #2!! :D

Howdy gals!

Well, its STILL raining here. I got my walk in without to much of a problem so I at least feel good about that. I started my week of no bingeing challege yesterday, and stuck with it.:carrot: It was far from easy, but usually the first 2 days are the worst for me. That means I'm half way there.:D Today I've got some iridology work in the morning, and my polymer clay class in the afternoon. I also need to get the rough draft of a program put together for the piano recital Friday.

Lady Tyger- to you. I hope your aches and bruises are improving. What a scary weekend you had! Hope things are turning around and getting better for you.

tete-Always one day at a time. If I start looking to far ahead I get overwhelmed and then think things are impossible. My brain can trying to be good for 1 day. Have fun at the workshop!

kat & cherokee-Great job on your awesome loss!!!!:jig:

Angela-How was your dinner? Hope you had a blast with your family.

Hypnotiq-I hope things are going better with DH. Congrats on your measurements!

la3y-Wow, a new deck! Won't that be nice to hang out on over the summer!! Hope your aches are fading.

NikM-Have fun with the jump rope. Definetly a great workout. I have trouble doing that cuz I'm so uncordinated!

Rosario-You are doing awesome getting the exercise in!!!:cp: I hope your no binge went well. That is the hard one for me. Exercise seems second nature, but so does gorging myself at about 4 in the afternoon. I stuck to my plan yesterday and I survived. I can do it again today too! One day at a time.

miasmom-weekends are definetly hardest for me. So many distractions involving yummy bad food.

Well, I'm going to start my turbokick workout now. Have a great morning! Good luck sticking to your plan.

Hey All I am in so much pain My boot camp instructor as I call him worked on all legs yesterday and today my legs are like jello. The worst one was squating down with your butt almost touching the floor and walk like a duck. Sounds funny but your legs will love them...LOL Then in the same position hop like a bunny. My thighs and calfs are so sore. I decided since I have boxing tonight I am skipping the gym st lunch so my legs can heal a liitle bit before tonight.

Shari - Cherokeeangel - Congrats on the weightloss

Katallan - congrats on the 1 pound. You can do it STEP AWAY FROM THE CANDY...:D

Ladytyger - Ouch hope you and the horse fell better soon. Did the deer do any damage to the car.

Brandy - I have been practicing jump rope for about 3 months and I am now just starting to get the hang of it..LOL

Well I am off to get some work done BYE and have a great day

Hi everyone! Hope all is well with you today. I am feeling much better now, I still have some bruises, but the rug burn on my back has faded and it is bruised, but still looks and feels much better! thanks for all your well wishes!

CherokeeAngel & Jasonlea~Congrats on the fabulous weight loss!! You two are doing great!!

Nikki~ Love the new picture, you have fantastic skin! What is your secret?

Katallen~Congrats on the loss, seeing the scale go down, especially after a stressful week, is always good. I know exactly what you mean about the parent thing too. For years, my parents told me that I needed to do something about my weight...they would say that they were just trying to be helpful, because "the older you get, the harder it will be to lose." Anyway, they would always say all that, then complain because I do not keep sweets in my house, atleast not any that I am tempted by. I do keep things in the house for my kids, like granola bars and pudding~but honestly, they love fresh fruit and will choose that as long as it is cut up and ready to go when they get home. Anyway, so my parents are forever buying all the junk that they know I love, but should not have. So....being the stubborn person that I can be, when they offer it to me, I say "No thanks, I am trying very hard to eat better and that does not fit into my plan." It is very hard for me to resist, but I guess I do it just to prove to them that they cannot sabbotage me. Best wishes with your family, hope it goes well!

Chat with you all soon!

Well I still can't seem to get control of my food but I did manage to get 9 points for exercise today.
My daughter has a paper round which I do for her on a Wed.Usually it takes about an hour of walking to get all the pamphlets delivered but today when I was about 1/3 of the way thru the wheel on her trllley bag broke and I ended up delivering all the rest of them by hand.I had to deliver 700 pamphlets and keep walking backwards and forwards to my car. It took me 2 1/2 hours to do it in the end.
That was solid walking carrying weight in my arms, boy oh boy am I tired.

Happy Hump Day!

Well, I sucked it up and threw my fear away and added in a 10 minute run section into my walk this morning. I ran VERY slow, but it was running. We'll see if the ankle swells now. I have my favorite sping class later this morning for my second hour of exercise. I was able to continue day 2 of no bingeing with success:carrot: . Yesterday was a lot easier than Monday, so hopefully today will be just a bit easier too!

I have my last lessons tonight!!! I am so excited about my break. The recital is piece of cake for me. I pretty much know everyone will be ok, so nothing to stress over there. The hardest part will be to bypass the cookies at the reception.

chaarli-Way to go on the exercising!!!! Hope you're not to sore today. Its cool that you normally do that with your daughter.

kat-hang in there! Try to just let the guilt trip fall right off of you. You know what is healthy for you both physical and mental, and it sounds like you're doing good at sticking with it during this stressfull time.

kaplods-Have fun on those rides. Your butt does get a little used to things, but one of the squishy gel seats helps.

Angela-Wohoooooo!!!!!!!!:jig:

Wendy-How was the park? I'm glad someone is getting sunny weather.

Niki-Duck walking kicks some serious a**. (literally cuz I always hurt there afterwards!) Hope the aches subside today.

La3y-Good luck staying healthy during TOM. Hope your cravings arent insurmountable.

Well, I'm off to explore. Have a great one.

Today I'm going to apply for a job at McDonald's (oy). I have no doubts that I'll get the job, considering the high turnover rate there. What I'm wondering, though, is whether or not I'll be able to keep up with my fitness goals once I start working. McDonald's is such a draining environment, since you're on the move ALL day. I remember last year, I would work up a sweat within a couple of hours and had almost NO energy by the time the day was done. I dunno, it concerns me that I won't be able to keep up with what I've been doing.

Morning all! I didn't post yesterday because I was soooooo depressed about my weight. OK, not really :D I was just really surprised when I weighed myself Monday(after so many points last week) that not only had I lost nothing, I had actually gained .25!!! I know it gets harder to lose once you have under 10 pounds to go, but I had added a lot of walking to my routine last week! I'll see what the weight looks like this evening at the gym.

For so long "they" said-"Don't weigh yourself every day, you'll just get discouraged with hormonal fluctuation and water weight" and now I read that successful dieters weigh themselves every day! I've compromised with weighing myself when I go to the gym(3-4 times a week) No scale at home. What about you gals?

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!

PS: A friend brought me some chocolates from Paris. I am allowing myself one per day. If I eat more than one, they go in the trash. They are amazing...:dizzy:

You will burn most calories working at McDonalds then you ever will exercising. I used to work in fast food and I believe now that was the only thing keep me under 200 pounds. I worked there for two years and ate tons and tons of fast food. Once I quit I stopped eating fast food and eating healthier (still not that great) and I gained tons of weight. What I would do to work in fast food again just for the exercise! Unforuntally they don't pay what I make doing web designs, haha.

HEY EVERYBODY!! i'VE GOT SOME NEW MOTIVATION. I'M FLYING TO LOS ANGELES ON JUNE 2ND FOR THE WEEKEND. MY FRIEDN IS HAVING A HUGE GRAD PARTY AND I'M GONNA GET TO GO. YIPPEEE! I HAVEN'T SEEN MY FRIENDS SINCE SEPT. OF 2005. SO I WANNA DROP A COUPLE OF POUNDS BEFORE I GO. WOOHOO! I LOVE MOTIVATION!!!! SO FAR TODAY HAS BEEN REALLY GOOD. NOW I JUST HAVE TO GO HOME AND GET MY LAZY BUTT TO WORK OUT!!!

WENDY-LETS GO WENDY, LET'S GO!!!! I'M WITH YOU TO ON GETTING BACK ON THE WAGON. WHY DON'T YOU RUN AROUND CRAZY TO GET THAT KITE UP!

MIASMOM-I THINK WEIGHING YOURSELF EVERY DAY IS KIND OF LOCO (NO OFFENSE) ALTHOUGH I ADMIT I AM GUILTY OF IT SOMETIMES. I THINK YOU GET MORE ACCURATE RESULTS FROM WEIGHIN IN WEEKLY OR BETTER YET MONTHLY. I'D RATHER SEE A LOT COME OFF WEEKLY THAN ONE POUND DAILY (IF I'M LUCKY)

LADY TYGER-I HOPE YOUR HORSE IS OK. GOOD LUCK WITH THE INSURANCE CO.

HYPNOTIQ-DOUBLE YAY FOR YOU. BY THE WAY, DOES YOUR NAME HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE DRINK ;)?

BRANDY-WOOHOO FOR YOU ON THE RUNNING. MAYBE YOU SHOULDNT RUN EVERY DAY SINCE YOUR ANKLE ISN'T USED TO IT. LET IT REST AND THEN START AGAIN. UH OH! COOKIES? STAY STRONG!!

CHAARLI-AWESOME ON EXCERCISE POINTS. YOU GO GIRL!

KATALLAN-ONE PIECE OF CAKE NEVER HURT ANYBODY ;) HOPE TODAY WAS GOOD FOR YOU

KAPLODS-BYCICLES? HOW FUN!! GET THAT BIGGER SEAT RIGHT AWAY THAT WAY YOU DON'T ASSOCIATE BIKE RIDING WITH PAIN. THAT WAY IT'LL BE EASIER TO STICK TO!!!

LYDIA-MY BIGGEST CONCERN WITH WORKING THERE WOULDN'T BE IF I HAD ENERGY TO CONTINUE WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DOING. MINE WOULD BE NOT EATING ALL THAT CRAP FOOD. WHEN I WORKED THERE, I USED TO EAT THERE ALMOST EVERYDAY-LUNCH AND BREAKFAST. I NEVER REALIZED HOW BAD THE FOOD WAS FOR ME (WELL NOW i'M PAYING FOR IT). MAYBE YOU COULD TRY GETTING YOUR WORKOUTS IN BEFORE YOU GO TO WORK.

LDY UNICORN-GOOD JOB ON UR EXCERCISE POINTS. I'M LAGGING BEHIND YOU....BUT NOT FOR LONG!! TRY TO FIGHT OFF THAT COLD!!!

aNGELA-GOOD JOB ON EATING HEALTHY. YOU MUST BE SO HAPPY THAT SCHOOL IS OVER. ENJOY YOUR TIME OFF!

Hipnotq - Bellydance videos - I would get them from Amazon.com because they're cheaper, and you'll find reviews by people who have bought the videos. It will also list other videos that are similar. I don't have any of the videos, but there's a couple put out by two ladies (Neena and Veena, I think) that I've heard really good things about. It was checked out at the library, so I'm going to check it out there before decididing whether to buy it. There's also a couple of beginner hula DVD's I want (Island Girl something or other).

I just can't seem to force myself to exercise if there isn't some point to it. I love swimming and water exercise, and I have a doctor's referral for the local warm water therapy pool (absolutely wonderful, and the only exercise that I can do fairly strenuously for an extended period). My husband and I also started geocaching last year (haven't started up yet this year), but it's alot of fun - sort of high-tech treasure hunting (geocaching.com). You use a GPS unit to find trinkets other people have hidden (like in parks and hiking trails).

While both swimming and geocaching are alot of fun, both need a bit of preparation to do, so I was looking for something I could do spur of the moment. The bicycles are a good outdoor option, and dancing for indoors.
I really have to look at it as playing rather than exercising or I'll never do it.

Rosario - I'm already paying for using the original seat. I can barely sit, and walking hurts too (in that hurts in places I didn't know I had places way) I think I'm going to buy a gel seat from Walmart, but save for an even better seat down the road. I found some online dealers that sell some fantastic seats, but they're pretty expensive.

Well, today has been a good day. Stayed on plan, got a great workout this morning and did some walking this afternoon. I am feeling good about today, just hope that I will make it through the evening ok.
Sounds like everyone is doing well today too....that's great!

Brandy~5 hours of workout for certification.....that must have been exhausting! I have toyed with the idea of getting certified....once I make it to goal, but I am not sure yet. Congrats on the success with no bingeing and wish you lots of luck tonight!

Colleen~I know exactly what you mean about the seat pain and it really hurts!! When I bought my bike, my butt was sore for a couple of days~I could not imagine getting back on that thing! I still have a little trouble with it on the first ride of each spring, but the better seat REALLY helped!! Good luck!

Katallan~Great idea, packing lunch and snacks ahead for tomorrow, that should help to stay on your plan. Hang in there and don't let them lay that guilt on you.

Lydia~good luck with McD's. I would have a hard time not eating their French Fries all day, all it takes is the smell of them to get my mouth watering! I hope you have more self-control that I would...go for the new Asian salad, it is fantastic!

Hypnotiq~That is so great that you could beat the craving! I had to give in to it Sunday, but since then I have not felt the need to dive into any more.

Miasmom~Hang in there, that scale will move in the right direction again! I weigh myself most days, except when it is my TOM...it is too depressing to see how much water I can retain some months!

Rosario~L.A.? Sounds like alot of FUN and what a great motivator that will be!

Have a great night and chat with you all tomorrow!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I'll definitely have to keep them in mind! I'm thinking that my best bet will be to bring lunch with me (or buy some food from Walmart, which is where the McD's is located). I have no desire to actually eat the food, except maybe the occasional salad or fruit parfait. What I may do is not worry about aerobic exercise since I'll be on the move all day at work, and just do strength training on my days off. We'll see how it goes. I have to get the job first :P

Well, I took Ryans crib apart tonight and put in his single bed, I'm kind of sad right now,my little angel is growing up so fast! Tomorrow I'm leaving him with mom so I can go for a 5 mile walk and enjoy myself, maybe even take some music with me for the road.I'm going to try and walk 10 minutes and jog for one, just to see how the asthma and the bad knees are going to react, looking forward to it though!

Good morning!!

Well yesterday I was having such a good day...but then on my way home-traffic everywhere. I just wanted to get home and i was getting so frutrated and tired of being in my car. So I caved in and went to McDonalds (I have the worst self control). Then I got home and had a Gansito (mexican chocolate twinkie-type thing). I am so bad at controlling myself. And to top it, off I didn't work out. Shame on me. And I am so psyched to got to LA and I want to drop a couple of pounds before I go. With the way I'm going though I am just going to get fatter :(!

But today is a new day. Wow, I am so grateful for fresh starts. My bf gets out late from work today so I brought my laptop to work. I'm going to sneak into one of the vacant offices and get my work out on. I have my SI6 and Walk and Box. And if there's time left I'm going to go for a walk/jog arund the office park. That's my plan and I am sticking to it!!! (Better said than done!)

Elizabeth-I know what you mean about the scale. I weighed myself this morning and I did not like what I saw. Bummer!! But I am determined to get it lower! I, too am only going to weigh once a week. Every day or every other day is too depressing.

Chaarli-I have been the same way as you for awhile now. We all need to be re-inspired once in awhile. Glad you got your inspiration!

Angela-wow, I haven't seen american idol since season 2. morning workouts are tough for me. Good Luck!!

wendy-it's so sad to see babies grow up. i'm scared to see my nephew. I haven't seen him since Sept of last year. and everybody tells me he is changed sicne he started school (he's only 2.5 yo!!) But it's inevitable. Enjoy your free time.

Lydia-whatever you decide to do...good luck!

Nail-lady-glad your day was a successful one (if only we could all be so lucky ;))

Colleen-that's a very good idea thinking of excercise as play time. that way you can actually look forward to it, not dread it. I'm glad you have found workouts that you actually like.

Have a great day everyone!!

I cried too, even though he wasn't my favorite. I honestly believe that he would've been the best American Idol. He just seems to be a very thoughtful, graceful, and humble person. I bet he'd have spent most of the money he earned from the contract to take care of his mom.

Hi ladies-getting a late start today. I actually slept in this morning (my walking partner has an early meeting on Thurs.) Then I did 90 minutes of turbo. I had to play a funeral, so my workout time got cut short since I slept in.

Well, my no binge continued yesterday. It was made a bit more difficult because I went to a girl scout meeting to help them finish the necklace I started with them back in March, and they had a HUGE platter of cookies. It was a little hard to say no, but I did it. Then today at church the after funeral dinner smelled and looked so yummy with all the homemade desserts on the table, but I resisted and came home and had a turkey on whole wheat sandwich. You've heard my recital dilemma, and now on Saturday we're having an end of the year choir get together with desserts. This week is turning out to be much more challenging than I thought when I agreed to do this.

la3y-You can definetly still reach your goal. Remember, 1 day at a time. They add up and make a difference.

Lydia-good luck working the fast food. I hated my time doing that. You're a strong smart gal, and you'll figure out what works for you without to much delay after getting used to a new schedule.

Rosario-here's to fresh starts. Dont linger on yesterday and you'll be doing great today! I'm so happy you get to visit your family. I know from your previous posts how homesick you feel at times. My running schedule is only 2 times a week with an 3rd run thrown in every 3 weeks. I wouldn't try running everyday because I KNOW my ankle cant handle it.

chaarli-I hope your reading got you plenty motivated!

Angela-I'm so happy that you get to spend so much time with your grandma. I used to spend every Friday afternoon with mine, but now she doesn't feel up to it. I little strange, but what can I say. Did ya get up for a workout? I always do better on my early ones.

Wendy-They sure do grow fast. My neice and nephew are getting bunk beds this weekend. Its crazy how quickly time goes by. How did your run go? My ankle swelled a bit after mine. No pain so I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Darcy-Great Job staying on track!!! The certification was exhausting, but definetly doable. I'd say look into different ones and pick what you like best. I'm tossing around the idea of going to get a personal training certificate, but am just not sure yet.

kaplods-I have been wanting to try geocacheing for about 4 years now, and still haven't. Do you know of a good, affordable gps? I think it would be so much fun!!!

Well, I'm off to run some errands and get everything I need for tomorrow. I hope you all have a great day and stick to the plans you have mapped out for yourself.

Brandy~congrats on the no binge success, your will power is amazing!! I don't know if I could resist if it was all laid out for me to see and smell!

Well, I hear the thunder rolling in, so I need to shut it down. Hope everyone has a great day!

Well, raining persians and poodles here in Winterpeg, my little walk/run was cancelled, not because of the rain but because my mother thinks I'm to strict on inforcing manners on Ryan. I expect him to say excuse me when he belches and she thinks it's ok to just say something stupid to him and not make him excuse himself. All of a sudden shes on my arse about being Miss prim and proper, and I'm PMSing so I just don't have to sit there and listen to any BS right now. MY kid, my rules.
Venting done........
Today I'm going to tackle the spare room and make it a play room for Ryan, complete with TV and VCR/DVD for Ryan's movies. Going to be hard work!
Hope you are all having a great day!

HYPNOTIQ-DOUBLE YAY FOR YOU. BY THE WAY, DOES YOUR NAME HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE DRINK ;)?

You're absolutely correct....a friend recommended it to me, and it has been a favorite since then. That's Saturday, so it's coming up fast :)

I bought the largest bike seat Walmart had. I was afraid it wasn't big enough, because there were bigger seats online, but they were all so expensive.

The new seat was actually quite comfortable. I was still having a little problem controlling the bike until I shifted into 2nd gear, it tightened the reins so to speak, and it was great. Husband and I rode to a park near our house, and back (about 10 blocks total, I think). Doesn't sound like much, but I wouldn't have been able to walk there and back without being in a lot of pain. My legs were a little wobbly when I got off the bike, but the high from the sense of accomplishment was wonderful.

It once again is raining here. No walk for me:mad: . I've done an hour of turbo and will probably do another soon to finish of my workouts. I still have 1 errand to run for the recital tonight. I need to go to town anyways and get my allergy shot for the week. Thats good though, getting out of the house keeps me from eating to much.

Wendy-definetly in the liquors. Very sweet and yummy.

Colleen-Glad you got a more comfortable seat. It sounds like you and hubby are having fun which is what biking is all about:D .

Hey everyone, just another boring day for me here, I have to run to the bank but other than that I'm not doing much.
Didn't sleep well at all last night, my dog has a huge growth and I think it's compressing her lung, her breathing was really off and I thought I was going to lose her last night. Today she is feeling better again but I think the time has come to make some decisions I really don't want to make,I've had her for 14 years so it's going to be hard.......see what happens after the weekend maybe.
Hope you all have a great day,and get those points up, I know we ALL tend to slack off during the weekends!;)

I have had an ok day of eating so far. Now I just have to go home and keep eating right and get my workouts in. I think I need a new workout though. SI6 is awesoem still, but I think I am bored of my Walk it off. I'll probably start walking/jogging around the tennis courts (if I don't look too much like a dork!!!).

Hope everyone's day is going good so far.

Good afternoon y'all. Hope everyone has exciting plans for this weekend!

Well, I binged last night. OK, not really a binge, but I felt out of control and like I didn't give a darn any more. So, what wonderful food did I binge on??? Multigrain toast. 4 slices. With real butter. I was totally doing it because of stress. Even as I did it, I was saying to myself "This is not going to make things better" The good thing about not keeping any "bad" food in the house is that it is not there when I get the urge to binge. I mean, there are plenty of things I could have binged on that would have done a lot more damage.

I'm going to be meeting with my nutritionist for a "tune-up" visit soon. I'm exercising a lot more since we last met in December, so I think I need to make some adjustments.

My eating challenge this weekend will be Sunday brunch with some girlfriends. Must...resist... French...Toast :)

See ya,
Elizabeth

Hi all! It sounds like I may have to try that drink sometime, yum! Unfortunately I have sworn off any alcohol until I make goal, so I guess that will have to wait.
My day has been a bit stressful as my kids did not have school today and they have been bickering all afternoon. I finally lost it and told them that if they did not work it out themselves, that I was going to make them sit on the couch and hold hands until they did! I know, CRAZY LADY!! But I guess it worked, they are playing now...I am sure they just did not want to hold hands.

Lydia~Congrats on the job!

Colleen~That is Great! It definately takes time to get used to riding again, but you will and I am sure you will love it!

Wendy~Sorry to hear about your dog, they become such a big part of the family.

Elizabeth~very smart thinking on not keeping the bad foods in the house--I should do that too.

:( Bummer on the lake Wendy.

I went running again this morning. This was the "long" run of the program. A whole 15 minutes. I feel good, but I have been starving all day so I've been trying to give my body what it needs in a fairly nutritious manner. I haven't been perfect, but I'm feeling strong so that is more important to me.

I have to go to the choir get together here soon, and I still haven't heard on whether or not I'm teaching my beading class tomorrow. They'll call right before closing and let me know the status. Busy busy. I have my first co-ed softball game of the year tomorrow night. (last weeks was cancelled due to rain) I am very excited as that is a really fun group to play with.

Well, hope you all have a terrific evening.

Good morning chickies:chicken:

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was good and busy. We played our first co-ed softball game last night. Had lots of fun and a tight game, but we ended up losing:o . The coolest thing was in the middle of an inning when we were going out on the field a bald eagle flew over carrying a fish in his talons. It was way cool to watch him soar over so close!

Well, today is my first official day off! I'm unsure if I'll be good and get some much needed cleaning done, or be bad, grab a book and read the day away. We upped our walk this morning to 4.4 miles. I'll throw in another workout later of either turbojam or biking. Depends on how the wind situation looks.

Wendy-hope you had a blast with the dancing!!!!

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Chaarli~Hang in there!

Wendy~Hope the dancing was fun! I really should make a point to drag my hubby out for some, we have not done that in.....forever.

Brandy~that is Very Cool about the Bald Eagle. I would love to see one in the wild, I have only seen them in the zoo here.

My weekend was pretty uneventful, lots of rain here, so we did not get to do too much outdoor playing.
My hubby and kids have started a new hobby...chickens...I am not overly thrilled with the idea, but as long as they stay in their pen or hen house, I guess I can deal with it, I just don't want them running around our yard. So, this weekend we had 7 chicks hatch in the incubator, so they were all very excited and I have to admit, the chicks are cute.

Well, hope everyone has a great day!

So, today I got my bedroom painted. It looks so good. It was hard because it was such a dark color (fox red), but it looks so much better than white and cigarette smoke yellow that was on the walls. I even got new bedding and curtains. I made the best dinner tonight. Got it from this site-chicken breast in the crockpot with a jar of salsa and a can of corn. It was really, really good! I got quite the workout today with all that painting and cleaning. I showered three times because I was so hot! I was trying on clothes at wal-mart (you'd be surprised...they have some really cute things..and for cheap!!!) and I was just like, bleh!! I am not happy with the way I look right now and so disappointed in myself for not working at it. MY life has been made up of too many wouldas, couldas, and shouldas. I actually want to work now and see results. Wish me luck tonite and give me strength to get my workouts done. No more messing around for me!!!

I like stuff at wal-mart! I got a couple cute little hoddie jacket thingys, I love them! My little sister and I got matching ones (they actually had plus and reg sizes in them, haha) - the thing I hate about wal-mart their plus sizes are sized so small! So you have to get this HUGE size even tho you really aren't that big.

I know you can do this, I see you around everyday - don't give up! And if you never need someone to chat with im here all day long :D
