Dee, I love your new avatar, too, but I must admit that I still miss the naked back one. . . :( That picture looked so relaxing to me--I could just imagine myself on a beach at sunset somewhere (not topless, though :) )

Janice, don't be too hard on yourself. Chinese food once in a while won't hurt TOO bad. Be sure to drink plenty of water, though, because it will bloat you BIG time!

Sherry, good to see you around!

Will post more later.

Love,
C

Cheryl thanks for starting a new thread. The other one was getting pretty long. I am glad that you like my new avatar. I thought it was time to get rid of the pointsettas. I wouldn't have a problem posing for another topless pic on the beach, now lets see where should I go?
That is funny that you crocked your mom. Have you heard how she likes them? I have never heard of the word Fugly until Gayle said it. I though that she made it up.

Shelley how is the teacher doing that had the fire? That was terrible. How big is your school? You noticed my new pic. Larry took my pic in PV this year at a resort that we went to for the day. It was paradise.
I dare you to try on those fugly shoes!

Gayle where are you? I know that you are busy but your pals here miss you. Make sure with the extra job you picked up and the shower that you are having and the army men that you are entertaining and the mommy that you are looking after that you find time for you. Even if it is for an hour or two a week. Any wine on the go, take a glass and sit down by your pond before those pesky misquitoes come out.
Dez has 3 pairs of crocs and one of them are niles. She said they are her favorite pair.
Mom had a really nice birthday. I think that she was just happy to be home and have everyone there. She tricked everyone and came out of the hospital with out having any oxygen. She is a lucky women.
So what did you do for your birthday? I hope that you enjoyed it.

Janice don't worry about the chinese food. It is only one meal out of many that you eat for the week. You do have to live even though you are losing weight. You are doing a marvelous job!

Suzy how are you doing? Are you feeling a little low now that everything has settled down? About those crocs you think that I would have shares in them or something but I really don't. You don't have to go on the wild side when you buy a pair. I have a pair of chocoate ones on order. Give them a try, you will love the comfort.

Sherry were you teasing us yesterday with your post? I miss you. Come and post when you have time.

Yeah, Dee--

I was actually gonna start the new thread earlier, but I left it open for Gayle's b-day, so everyone could get a word in if they wanted too. I'm glad you carried it over to this thread, for those who may have missed it! Thanks! :D

For on the 3rd of May, she was to turn 43 ~~

:cloud9: Thank you for the birthday wishes girls!!! You all make me feel all warm & cozy & special!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a great birthday!!! Friday evening we will be having a small get together with the mom's to have ice cream & cake. I will open my gifts then from Steve. Last night I opened the gifts from the girls. Allison gave me a lovely angel statue, Liz gave me a stone kitchen plaque on an easel that reads: When in doubt, simply add more wine and a pocket prayer medal. Shortly after I arrived home from work, I had a furniture truck pull into the drive. It was a new dishwasher! I still live in the dark ages and hand wash all of my dishes. My mom said every time I talk to her on the phone I am doing dishes so she thought I might like something to take the load off. She made the trip to the furniture store by herself and picked it out.
Today is our 10th year anniversary so I gotta be nice to the hubby today!! :frypan: :stars: :rollpin:
I am making homemade potato soup with rolls (how romantic) :cofdate: and serving it with a bottle of wine Liz gave us for our anniversary. Daughter #1 will be in class all evening and we may ship out daughter #2 to Grandma's so we may just get a little action going on!! :whoo:
I might just have to show this young guy how an old woman of 43 can light his fire! :belly: :flame:

Gayle ~ I'm glad to hear that you had such a nice birthday! I've been 43 for about 6 months now...it's really not that bad! ;)
Happy anniversary! I hope you have a nice evening!

Cheryl ~ Congratulations on your new senior member status and your 1000th post! :bravo:

Dee ~ I'm doing ok...keeping myself really busy! There's a lot to do around here since we closed the shop and took two weeks off while Travis was home, plus there's lots of yard work to be done and housework to catch up on, so that helps. It also helps having Yahoo IM and the webcams. They make it so much easier to stay in touch...I think it would be almost unbearable to be so far apart without the computer!

I was looking at the crocs again yesterday, but ended up with a new pair of tan suede airwalk sneakers instead. It's so fun buying shoes now! I used to have to buy wide shoes, but since I lost weight I can buy regular width shoes...so much more to choose from!

Cheryl I was getting concerned about our missing birthday girl. I love what you added to Gayle's name.
Please post again, are you expecting a prise for your 1000 post......lol When I first read your post I thought I read senior moment.....hehe

Gayle Happy Anniversary! Wow 10 years that is a big one. Enjoy the evening "wink, wink"
It sounds like you will be celebrating your birthday for the next few days. What a wonderful surprise from your mom. That is just too sweet.
I hope that you got a few laughs from the posts.

Suzy I am glad that you are keeping yourself busy. One day you will have to break down and buy some croc's.

Cheryl, young lady, I have a bone to pick with you! How in the world did you get to be "little miss senior member" at 1000 postings when I am at 2500+ and am still a lowly registered user??? Explain that one missy....

Gayle-I hope you have a wonderful time tonight, and Happy Anniversary also! What a nice, thoughtful gift from your mom. Is it portable, or are you going to have it installed? I have been hand washing my dishes for a few years because Mike doesn't want me to use the electricity from the dishwasher. Then it finally broke, so I really can't use it now. You are a youngster to me! I will be 53 at the end of the month. Oh, to be 43 again!!

Dee-You are sounding more and more like the Dee that I have loved for so long. I am so glad that you are back to normal and feeling better, or at least sounding like you feel better!

Cheryl-Thank you for starting the post. You have been a great stand in for Sherry, but I miss her so much!

Shelley I was just thinking as I was posting this week that I have some of that spunk I used to have. My back has been great since the weekend. I have done didley since painting the fence. Mike lost his job today. He had been there 1 year this April. They say it had to do with insurance. They called him in yesterday and told him that since he drives his own vehicle, we need to have a $500,000.00 policy. We already have that because of my leased car. Well, the insurance company faxed them the policy and Mike thought everything was okay. This afternoon they called him in and told him that it would have to go through their insurance company, and they can't get him insured, according to corporate. So he was let go. This is a real bummer, what with Becky going to college next year, the graduation party, and the laptop we are supposed to get her for a graduation present. Not to mention of course all the bills we already have. Also, I guess the equity line I applied for will be down the tubes, since when they call to check his employer, they'll find out he doesn't work there. I'm sure he'll find something within a week or 2, since there are quite a few construction supers needed, but it doesn't help this minute. It seems whenever everything is going great, we get slammed down again. I am really bummed!

Thanks for listening!!

Hey Cheryl--I didn't know you were a "Days" fan. Both Doni and I are too!!

Gayle-I 3rd that wish!!

Oh, Shelley, that is such awful news! I can't imagine what shock y'all must be in. Is he eligible for any unemployment benefits? I'd check that out 1st thing so your family will have a second income source while he's looking for a different job.

If there is ANYTHING I can do for you, please let me know!

05-05-2006, 08:26 PM
Cheryl-I remember coming home after elementary school to watch Days, then Another World. I quite watching it for many years, then started back again when Becky was born and I was at home for awhile. The 2nd time was 18 years ago. The first, I don't even want to guess! It had to be close to 40 years ago. I forget how many years they have been on, but it not much over 40!

He's not going to be without a job long enough to collect unemployment, hoprefully! He has to get 1 next week.

I like your little devil for Gayle!!

My romantic evening after the mom's left turned into rescuing an owl in the middle of the street. We think he has a broken wing. A park ranger is to contact us tomorrow. He is sitting here in a box by me and sends a "hoot" out to you girls!!

Cheryl, you are a little stinker!!! Go ahead, keep picking on me, I know now I will never be anything more then just a registered member. I bow to you, oh Senior Chickie!!! I like my devil too!!!!

Shelley, if you need anything, you let me know, ok??? I know this is a rough time with graduation and all, but hopefully you guys will come through all of it ok. I can't believe the company not even having the common decency to let Mike have some notice. Maybe this needed to happen, he can move on and find something even better. Keep me updated!

Shelley I am really sorry to hear that Mike lost his job. I am sure that it is really stressful for your family. I was just thinking this week about Mike working and how he was doing with his back. Will Mike be getting two week severance pay?

Gayle what kind of owl did you find? Has he been picked up now? Gee I thought that it was traditional to receive tin or aluminum for your 10th. You must of had a hoot of a good time.

Suzy I see you figured our Cheryl's little secret.....lol You make a good detective.

He was an adult screech owl about the size of a can of spaghetti sauce. Just a little guy! The ranger came by today, he will go to another city and live in rehabilitation until healed, then move on to a zoo somewhere. It was a fascinating experience to have our guest stay with us for awhile. He would just sit in your hand and not even try to get away. Although, a few times during the night, he had to share a few of his owl sounds with us.

Dee, what movie did you watch???

Suzy, thanks for letting us in on little Cheryls secret! I changed mine tonight...take a look.....

Shelley, how are things going today? Try not to get too down, maybe this will open up something really good for your family.

Cheryl ~ I do hope you know that all this teasing is in fun!

Sometimes post counts don't always trigger the status change the way they should, so most likely yours worked and Gayle's didn't for some reason.

Tim and I had a 200th Lodge Anniversary dinner to go to last night. It was probably about a million calories, but it was so good! Fruit cup, a tossed salad with almonds and madarin oranges, prime rib, roasted red potatoes, fresh green beans. Dessert was over the top...a huge slice of coconut cream layer cake. Coconut cream anything is my all time favorite... I ate every bite! Today it is back to the real world of Low Carb Special K, but I sure did enjoy that binge last night! :^:

Gayle you have such a BIG kind heart. One winter morning we slipped into the hot tub outside and I noticed a screech owl sitting under our awnings. He just watched us and stayed there until evening.
I watched Dreamer. It was a really inspiring movie.

Suzy I am glad that you enjoyed that meal. You are on maintainence, a girl's got to live. You did good not depriving yourself and then realizing that you have to be careful for the next few days.

Janice a loss is better than a gain. You lost a lot in the last few weeks. Your body has to adapt. Besides that you should have eaten 20 on program meals last week and one meal of chinese. When you put that into prospective it isn't that bad. You are doing great.

Shelley after running 14 miles you sholuld be able to eat anything you want and not gain weight. Maybe it is from the TOM or from salt. Don't be to hard on yourself you look great.
How is Mike doing?

Cheryl good thing that every day you have a clean slate. You can start all over again. We all have times when there is a lot of celebrations going on and of course with that comes food. We just have to watch what we eat before the celebrations and after the party. You are doing great, keep at it.

Larry is moving my arbor right now. I really should be out there to supervise. Hope you are all doing well.

There was an article in our paper this morning about the 3FC book. That was kind of exciting to see! Are any of you purchasing it?

I signed up to be a daycare director next year. I'll just be doing office stuff, and will work until 6:00 on Tuesdays and Fridays. It pays quite well, and I want to be able to send Becky some money on the side when she is away at college. I won't be able to get as much running in as I would like, but I should still be able to run at least 25 or 30 miles per week, mostly on the weekends. It will be long days, but the money will be worth it! My main concern is August, when I will be at work by 6:AM to cover the secretary's work for the month. 12 hr days a couple days a week. Wish me luck!!

Janice-You are doing great!

Dee-Mike is fine. He actually went in yesterday and got them to give him more money that he had coming to him. He will be sending resumes out tonight if he doesn't hear back from a place he called yesterday. I am positive he'll get something better than he had.

Cheryl-I never changed mine either. It just went to senior member. Maybe age had something to do with it:)

Janice, a .8 loss is still a loss! You're doing great!

I'm here Suzy Q!!! Just working at the store, mowing our yard, the mom's yards and trying to get ready for a garage sale on Friday & Saturday. We didn't have a sale last year because of the ailing parents so this year we have mega junk to get rid of! Allison is growing like a weed, I already have 3 huge garbage bags ready full of her clothes.

I can't remember if I gave you guys an owl update or not. The owl went to a rehabilitation center for birds, once he recovers he will find a new home in a zoo somewhere. The ranger said more then likely, he flew into a power-line and broke his wing. All I have to say is he was a very lucky little birdie!!! He had a huge pickup drive right over the top of him as we were trying to get out to the street to rescue him. I hope "Screech" is happy and recovering well.

Janice, you are doing an amazing job reducing your weight! More then likely you retained some fluid from the Chinese food. Next week I bet you see a lower number on the scale. BTW: Wasn't it last week you had a fairly large loss? I bet Dee is right, your body is trying to balance out. Either way, you are getting closer & closer to goal!

Dee, did the arbor get moved? Is it a wooden or metal one? I love arbors and gazebo's. In my lifetime, I would love a gazebo in my backyard!

Shelley, sending Mike special vibes hoping he finds the perfect job! So, with this new position, is it a done deal or did you just apply for the position? Will it get you out of the office?? I say go for it if it will get you out from where you are now. You are overworked and people tend to place so much responsibility on you because they know you will get the job done.

Cheeeryl.....did you see my new "title"??? I wanna be just like you someday....

Carol, come back!!! Come back here and post soon!
