Good morning. I'm very happy to say the scale moved southward this AM. Not alot, but enough to be encouaging. Mom's 76th bday is today so we are going to the eye doctors and grocery shopping..HA! then home to rest - my sister and I are taking her out to dinner. nothng fancy. She's skinny and says she can't eat enough to warrant going to fancy restaurants. I absolutely did not get he genes!!

So this is day 11 of phase 1 for me. I am thinking another week since my loss has been so slow. What is the normal length of time peole stay on phase 1? I am also going to cut back bkfast to 1 egg, 1 turkey bacon slice. I'm thinking I'm eating too much and maybe that's why the slow weight loss.

SOON: How lucky are you to go see Faith and Tim. Enjoy!!

Hey chicks, just a quick stop in to say hey. The stupid scale is not moving even though I've been good. TOM is almost over so hopefully that will get things going. Going to lunch and a movie with my g'friend today. Should be fun. I need to clean the rattie palace and straighten up some around my own palace here :D . BTW, I spent $35 on a big nice soft doggie bed and my dog refuses to lay on it prefering the floor or the couch. My cat, however, thinks its fabulous and has claimed it as his now even though he has two other beds and a kitty cubby hole all to himself. Animals are weird :D !

Soon: I love them, how fun. What a great guy!! I'm jealous!

Smoke: Yayy for the loss! Send some of those vibes my way, would ya! ;)

Moberry:  have a great day!!

Where is everyone this morning? I'm a little later than usual, I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and read the paper after getting back from Curves.

Soon ~ Enjoy your day off tomorrow! How's the new job coming along?

Smoke ~ Wish "Happy Birthday" to your mom from me, too! I think most of us stay on Phase 1 for the usual 2 weeks, then switch to a Phase 1.5. I would start by just adding a fruit, and see what happens. I lose at a much faster rate on Phase 1.5, than I did on Phase 1. I only eat grains about 2 times a week, as they seem to stall my weight. You're doing great, don't get discouraged!

mo berry ~ Yep, that's what's keeping me motivated, knowing that summer is almost here and I want to look good in my shorts, and swimsuit.

It's going to be in the 80's today! A good day to be outside enjoying the weather, and now I can, thanks to my new allergy medicine. I'm taking the leftover Thai w/ Spicy Peanut Sauce with me for lunch, yum! Whoever asked, the recipe is posted on the boards in Phase 2, I think, by Weezle. I make it a Phase 1 by serving it over spagetti squash, and it's absolutely scrumptious!

Soon-what a good boyfriend! You'll have a blast

Smoke-I agree 2 weeks is norm. Just take the switch over slow and be on the look out for craving sneaking in. good luck!

Mo-I'm with ya, I just bought a bunch of new summer stuff all new sizes and it was the best feeling don't buy those larger shorts, waste of $$

Schatzi-:D

Cottage-ooh i'll have to try that spaghetti squash, it's gotten a lot of good reviews. Glad you're having such a leisurely day

Pear-gotta love the animals huh? I have spent so much over the years on doggie or kitty toys and beds, finally i gave up...they sleep on my head, lol

hi anhchor!

I'm off to the gym soon. My mom's in town so I have much more freedom b/c she'll watch the boys. I've been feeling thick lately so I'm sticking to a very nice 1.5 plan. I got a little free over the weekend at the wtaerpark. Way too fun buy the way.

soon - I would love to go to that concert. That sounds like so much fun!

smoke - I only lost 4 pounds when I did phase 1 the first time (for 2 weeks) but the weight came off in phase 2. Seems like people who stay on it longer than 2 weeks tend to stall on their loss unless they have a very large amount to lose.

mo - My chest was one of the first places that I lost my weight on. I went from a 42DDD to a 36C

pear - Cats are the strangest. Allie seems to like to lay on Brian's computer desk. I caught her on the monitor this morning so I think we will have to cover it to keep cat hair from getting inside.

Hi, Schatzi and anchor and batmomm!

cottage - We'll be in the 80's today too but we'll have rain today. They're talking about hail tonight and tomorrow morning. I've got an eye exam tomorrow morning and then will be in the office where we don't have covered parking so I hope we get the hail tonight if we are going to get any. Actually, I hope we don't get any since my squash and tomatoes are growing well and the hail would damage them.

Ruth - I hope you feel better before you have to travel.

me - I got a good workout in last night. I'm WFH today but expect a busy day. Hopefully I can get some exercise in even if it's just at home.

Morninz All!!
The weather is so nice again..supposed to get into the high 70s, maybe up to 80. Definitely a day for me to do my walk outside. Plus, the sun is out and I need to not be able to blend into the wall anymore. I've started doing push-ups. Oh my are my triceps sore. *sigh* But, no pain, no gain - right?

mo: I agree with batmomm...don't waste the cash on the shorts. However, feel free to send me the excess boobage. I'm always taking donations in that region. :)

Ruth: sorry you still feel so poopy. I hope you have time today to really get some good rest and fight off whatever ick is ailing you.

And everyone else: hope your days go well! :)

Good morning chicks!

I hope all of you are doing well. Today I am having a relaxing work at home :comp: sort of day because the boss is out of town (and I have the added excuse of having to wait for an important FedEx delivery). I have my laptop here so I'm going to set it up and do some thesis writing. :comp: Oh joy! I have gotten a lot done on that this week and I'm keeping my fingers crossed :crossed: that I'll have a first draft cranked out within a couple of weeks.

Can't wait for the weekend! I have nothing special planned, but sometimes those weekends end up being the most relaxing. :beach:

Soon ~ How nice of him to get those tickets for you! I hope you enjoy the show, it sounds like a lot of fun.

Smokepole ~ Congrats on the loss. I stayed on P1 for two weeks but transitioned very slowly into P2. (I just added back in one item at a time, like the first week I added a bit of rice with dinner, the next week I added a serving of fruit, and so on.)

Mo ~ Enjoy that wonderful weather! :sunny: Those kind of days are always so motivating for me!

Pear ~ LOL at the dog bed. My parents' dogs decided that the one my mother bought them was better as a big chew toy!

Cottage ~ I'll have to check out that recipe. Yum! :hungry:

Batmomm ~ Waterparks are the best! I live 10 minutes away from one and I was always there when I was in middle and high school.

Ruth ~ I hope you start to feel better before your trip!

TropicalKitty ~ Enjoy your walking!

Schatzi, anchorweight, Barb ~ Hi! I hope you have a nice day!

Morning girls!
I absolutly COULD NOT get up for the gym this morning. I was exhausted from my exam yesterday, and from a TOUGH workout yesterday. The machine said I burned 550 calories :) I doubt that is true though.

Soon- Have fun at the show!

Smokepole- Gratz on the loss :) You're almost done phase I! Yay!

Mo- It seems we have the same weather today. I'm going to go for a big long walk and enjoy the sun :flow1:

Ruth- I hope you feel better! :grouphug:

Lottie- I'm right with you for the slack day today. What magazine are you going to be in and for what?

Everyone else: Hello!

Well I kind of have a slack day ahead of me. Going to visit my cousins. Then getting my hair cut. Then out for desert for my birthday (tomorrow). I kind of dread going get my hair done though. The darn lady takes like 3 hours, its a joke!

Anywho I will try and drop in before I get my hair done this afternoon. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Also, I'm not sure why, but this time around it's been really easy for me to not get addicted to the scale. I have some slight curiosity but no burning desire...which is NICE...it can make you such a slave...eh weezle? ;)

Bad news girls. Our computer at home has a virus, and we don't know which one it is. We've tried doing a system restore, and then we tried fixing it like it was the Sasser Virus, but apparently it's not. So, after tomorrow and then the weekend (getting online at Mom and Dad's to see if we can figure out which virus it is,) I may not be posting as much. Crap. We're going to try booting up in Safe Mode and running Norton Antivirus from the disc (if we can find it) and hope that works, but the virus fried the Norton software on our computer. Anybody know about viruses? It makes all kinds of popups pop up, and then shuts our computer off, and we can't connect to the internet. Any thoughts?

Otherwise, behaved myself at the bar last night. Three glasses of water instead of all the yummy drinks that Terry, Abdul, and friends got to drink. I even said "no" to TRYING a Mojito. Not even a sip. Tonight we're going to my favorite restaurant/bar (potato potato potato beer beer beer) and having a salad and a glass of water. Mmmm. It's my uncle's 50th birthday so I have to go. I mean, I want to go, I just don't like having to see what everyone else is eating/drinking when I get a salad and a glass of water.

Still trying to get exercise in and what-not, and haven't fallen off the wagon yet. I don't know how things are going because I'm still not weighing myself. I try to monitor my calorie intake, but some days I just get hungry, like last night at 10:30 when we got home. I had a slice of fake meat and a slice of lf cheese, so really it was only like 70 calories, but still. I was hungry. We'll see what the scale has to say on Sunday.

Hope you girls have a wonderful day! Back to work!

Lisa

Morning chicks!

Just a quick post as I am at work and need to be WORKING! (What a concept, eh??)

I wound up having yesterday "off" as my older daughter was running a fever on Tuesday night. She wound up being totally fever free and happy as could be yesterday, so we bummed around all day and then had my parents over for dinner. :)

Okay- back to work for me. ;)

Sorry to be MIA chicks...I have been oh so busy. Let me catch you up. I have been doing pretty good exercise wise. Missed my goal of 1240 by about 200 mins. This month I am upping it to 1300 mins of exercise. Eating has been up and down. I started a new running program. It is called "couch to 5k" and is offered by coolrunning.com. It takes 2 months and starts you off with running/walking intervals. I am on Week 2 Day 2 right now and I can feel myself getting more endurance. I am hoping to try a 5k in June. Well its great to be back, I feel like I have so much catching up to do though!

soon - never been much of a country music fan, but they are both great. Hope you have fun.

debbie - congrats, a loss is a loss.

maureen - my boobs could get much bigger and I should be happy lol.

pear - Thats so funny about your cat and dog. Sounds like you cat has its own little condo...

cottage - good to see your new allergy meds are working. It would be a shame to miss all this beautiful weather.

amy - Good morning, have a great day!

batmomm - I love the water parkm havent been in ages though. Do some cardio for me will ya?

ruth - I hate that you are suck, I hope you get to feeling better.

barb - hey at home exercise still counts, no one says you have to be in a smelly gym to get a workout...

tropicalkitty - Nice to meet you, I do not think we have met before. I love walking outside. I just started a running program actually.

crk - always on the go! Enjoy your spontaneous weekend.

lottie - What kind of a book are you writing? My husband is a writer...though he does journalism.

jazz - Your right, the machine could be lying, it could be more lol! How long did you workout for? You have to be careful when doing cardio for more than an hour, after that your body starts burning muscle.

weezle - potato potato potato beer beer beer lol you crack me up. Great job on the good behavior, I knew there was a reason you were doing so great!

kyemom - sorry to hear about your test. Writing a letter to the dean may be a good thing to do.

kiko - your avatar is so beachy! Love it.

The sun is shinning, and we off "on the road again."Leo voice is getting better, but its not 100% yet. The doctor thinks its from the radition being so high on his chest, that causing that. She said that they are going to lower the beam to a left angle. The tumor is dying from the inside out and that they are now going to shot it more from the left. The doctor believes that Leo has a great tollerence, for more radition, but I don't know. This is going to be the REAL TEST ,and will add more days to traveling back & forth. We believe its going to be until the end of May,and possibility into June.We have a long way to go,but if its Helps Leo get rid of the cancer and go into remission so be it.

As far as I'm doing with the SB diet isn't not working the way I wanted. I don't know why?????????My weight is going back up to where I was in the beginning 3 years ago, even eating 1 bread/grain per day isn't working. MY Hubby thinks I'm eatting to much protein at my afternoon meals.I thought protein is suppost to fill you up,when not eating bread products.

Have to get ready to leave, will post later.

Hugs :) BB

Kyemom: Well I didn't want to post a link because it says it may be removed...but I'll give it a shot since you asked.

The article is at www.survivingbipolar.com and I'm the featured writer :)

Also, the book I've written is a poetic autobiography called The Crazy Inside: A poetic journey through manic depression and it's already been published. I self published that one, because it is such a small niche. But I am hoping to have a house pick up my memoir, Paper Street: My personal path to self-destruction. So far I have an editor who has signed on to help me rework it.

That's cool that your hubby is a writer :)

Lottie, it will be! :D Trust me...you'll never believe how good you *can* feel...

Pecking in very quickly...have to go make dinner before heading to my cake decorating class.

Had a great morning garage sale-ing with my friend and her mom. So much fun seeing tons of clothes that might fit! Found a great 'weekender' jacket/skirt/pants in a really nice beige color--plus it's washable! :dancer:

Had lunch with said friends at Old Country Buffet...I was very nervous about going there but my friend's mom is in OA and on a no flour no sugar diet and she finds plenty, so I went for it. I was amazed at how much I could eat! Lots of great salad fixings, but also baked fish, green beans, broccoli, and they even have baked sweet potatoes (and they're small!). Best of all, they have NSA FF vanilla frozen yogurt and chopped nuts for topping. It was a lovely lunch! :T

Hey, have you read the 3FC book yet? I preordered mine and it arrived yesterday. I'm already halfway through it...what a great read! The sisters have outdone themselves. :bravo: Hope you get a copy for yourself!
