Ok girls got a second here to post the question I have been wanting to post all day but haven had the time.

Yesterday on my official weigh in day I had lost 0, nothing at all. This morning I sneaked on the scales to take a peak and it was down 2 pounds. My question is this, Should I move my Ticker or should I wait till next Sunday? I have never moved the ticker on any other day besides Sunday, no matter what it said. However I was wondering if my Sunday weigh in was messed up because of possible water retention in the muscles from so much exercise on Saturday. Just curious as to what everyone else would do. I will try to check back tonight.

Linda..wow! You're doing better than you thought. Very cute cat.

Cheryl..I'll be making that very soon. Thanks for sharing. We're doing about the same. I walk and do the BL in the evening. Wouldn't it be great to drop the weight that fast!? lol!

Robbin, I don't have a specific weigh in day. When it drops I report it as soon as I can! Go ahead and change it and leave it (weighing) for the rest of the week and state another change this coming sunday!

I'm off to get serious with Bob now. Have a great night ladies. See you in the morning!

 Evening Ladies...

Robbin, whoa! ! ! ...that's a lot of rowing and a lot of calories burned! WTG! You may not have made the best choices, but I bet you balanced it with all that rowing. As far as the ticker... I sometimes move mine during the week but on my official weigh in day I count all, if any, lbs lost for that week and by that time, I may or may not need to adjust my ticker. I suppose it's up to you, but I don't see any harm in moving it. Congrats on the 2 lbs lost :dancer: ...looks like the rowing paid off after all :D

Michelle, I'll be glad when school is out too... that means I can go up to the high school anytime and walk and not just when shcool is out for whatever reason, or on the weekends :D

Tina, thanks! ...I was doing the happy dance! Sounds like another one of your busy weekends. I'm with you, in that I don't like putting time limits on myself. I set goals and however long it takes I feel a sense of accomplishment once I reach it... does wonders for the motivation. Your proposed weight loss sounds doable... I'll be cheering for you. :cheer:

Psst, Michelle, don't listen to Tina, I wasn't hogging the fairy fat mother, I was just trying to persuade her to stick around a little longer... yeah that's it!

Linda, looks like you're getting that camera thing figured out. Nice picture of Goldi :)

Cheryl, Mmmm yummy... that recipe does sound good. I've saved it... now I just have to get around to fixing it.

Hope everyone had a good day! :)

Good evening, As you can probably see I just couldnt help myself. I changed my ticker. Yeah. Only 4 more pounds to go before I am in the 30's. Just keep telling myself 10 at a time. it is going much faster than i thought it would. That is mostly because all of you are traveling this road with me. It is so much better than being alone.

Well ladies I know it is early but I am tired tonight and my hubby has to be up early in the morning so I will end up waking up with the alarm. See you all in the morning. Sweet Dreams.

Robbin, I would have moved mine too! ;) I agree, it is going faster then I expected as well. We'll all get there, one pound at a time. The support and motivation gives us all something to draw from. Sleep well.

Well girlies, thought i had posted yeterday but now i see its not on here, guess it helps if you hit the submit button before you close.

thanks to everyone for your encouraging words after my little poop the other day! It is really nice to know you are not alone in all this!

Lindaglad to see you are getting the camera worked out, love the kitty!! Never heard of the exercise gadget you have gotten, maybe you could post a picture of it! Have you figured out how to breathe yet?

Robbin Okay floating down the river is one thing but 6 hours of rowing is another!! My arms would be falling off! Absolutely move that ticker and be proud. Moving that always makes me feel like the loss is official and keeps me going! I know I am a litte late but congrats on resisting the Mexican! :carrot:

Cheryl conrats on the loss :carrot: the recipe sounds awsome will have to give it a try! Again i know i am late here but what are "batiks" colors you referred to about the wall hanging you are going to do?

Michelle Hey girl, i am so glad you stayed around! I know what you mean, sometimes i feel like a school kid standing alone on the playground when it seems like someone misses a post you've done. Please know i am terrible at keeping up with everyone, scatter brain disease is on the increase in my house! But my daughter finishes school this week so hopefully i can manage my time a little better and keep a little more sanity! I have all kinds of plans for while she is out but we'll see what actually happens. I know it is easy to say don't take it personal if i miss a post but i have felt the same before and will do my best to keep others from feeling that way too. As for the avatar picture i have no idea how i got it that size. It is a pic from my digital camera, but i had others that it would not accept at all???? I was just playing around and that's what it ended up looking like!

Tina I hear you on the self-talk thing, or was that me talking, hahahaha, I am terrible about negative self talk and am working really hard to beat that. Had a weigh in at church for a Biggest loser competition i signed up for in february and the loss she recorded there was way less than my acutal loss since i had gained after i started and that just kicked into my bad mood lately. Everyone was jummping up and down because a girl had reached 22 pound loss, well essentially I am there too but none of them could recognize that because they did not see the scale at my highest. Oh well, i am trying to fill myself with positive self talk but still am forcing it. Your hong kong trip sounds fabulous! I too am vacationing in July, going to PA to see my family and am hoping to be around 250 by then. Like you may be pushing a little but would feel good to do it! Have you started shopping yet or going to wait till a little closer so you can get the next size down?!

Loisthanks for understanding about the emotional poop! your support, as well as everyone elses means so much! glad to hear you are doing better with your ankle! and a 3 pound loss, you go girl:carrot: :carrot: that is huge. Your dedication to exercise amazes me!

Lilian Congrats on getting the WATP tape done! Leslie has been back in the drawer at my house the last few days, way off track with exercise at the moment, too much life going on here lately! I know what you mean about the one on one communication, sometimes i get everybody all mixed up on who is doing what and worry about what i may have said to the wrong person! but anyway, when it comes to support the more the merrier, especially when we can all identify with each other so well!! Hang in there and I pray that your motivation keeps on building!

Okay quick update on me and then i gotta go. Some of my scale issue may be that one of the non-skid feet is sliding off the post it is supposed to be on, probably weighed about 40 times today before i realized it was just not staying put. I am going to try to restick it and if it still won't stay sounds like a new scale for me! I am still stuck at about 270 i go a little over a little under but can not keep it below so refuse to move my ticker at all! I have not exercised the last two days, just too busy. Today is my daughters kindergarten graduation and had to get a bunch of stuff done for that and still need to get up from the computer and get busy but couldn't miss a chat with ya'll! I have been trying to stay up with work but the kids are keeping me running and can't keep a clean train of thought to get anything done! Weather is heating up and getting humid but so far i am tolerating it. even got my porch furniture cleaned up a little and am trying to salvage some plants i have likely killed! The funk is still hanging over me and i don't want to bring everyone down, but I am leaning on your support and know that "this too shall pass" I just am desperately not wanting to eat my way through it. I have not "cheated" per se but have had a few days of increased quantity and very high salt causing increased water retention. Well off to try to fix the scale and see what damage i can do to the day! Hope ya'll have a fantastic day!!!!!!! Keep it going girls, we can do this:cb: :cb: :cb:

Good Morning . . . another one of those "don't know" kind of weather days in Nova Scotia . . . basically cool and overcast with momentary bursts of sunshine peeking through and then little sprinkles of rain :dizzy:

Sorry I just never got back here yesterday but now I'm going to try to get caught up . . .

Robbin . . . Never knew before that 'floating' and 'rowing' were synonyms. ;) The rowing is definitely the better exercise but really exhausting when it goes on for so long. My bet is that your muscles were retaining water the next day as they were healing themselves from all the exertion and it just took the extra day for the loss to actually show up. Glad you decided to claim it.

Cheryl . . . Congratulations on making those great choices at lunch. Your ziti recipe sounds great . . . I'm a real pasta lover and love having lots of veggies to stretch it out. :D

Lois . . . Fairy Fat Mother hogging, eh. Now I know why she doesn't seem to be able to get northeast of Michigan. So glad the weight-loss is going fast for you.

Michelle . . . Glad you'll soon be outside walking up a storm. I have a new theory about the magic of the shrinking avatars . . . when I decided to post Goldi as my new avatar I noticed that the rule was sort of an either maximum KB or maximum dimensions kind of thing. Might be an explanation. :?: Why don't you post a question on the "Announcements and Help" forum?

Tina . . . You've really been doing great already. girl, averaging 2 lbs a week. Stick to your guns and anything over the 16 lbs mark will be a real going away gift and you'll have a great trip.

Erin . . . Yes, I think I've finally got the breathing figured out but I have to admit I find the theory a little odd and haven't combined it with the exercises yet. Click here Bodyflex (http://www.bodyflex.com) for more information. Believe me, I know, how depressing those stuck scales can be. Hang in there. Our turn will come.

Wow . . . I was just thinking about all the July vacations . . . Cheryl . . . Tina . . . Erin . . . and we were just commenting on how quiet it gets in here on the weekends. Wait until July :D

:p The little green envy imp strikes me when you talk about your weight-loss going faster than you expected . . . Robbin . . . Lois. Keep it up; it's great and you both deserve it.

I just wish things could move a little faster for me. :^: I do know that the main reason things are moving so slowly for me is taking insulin . . . it has two jobs in the body (moving sugar energy into the muscle cells, and moving excess energy into fat cells for storage). For a type II diabetic, it stinks at doing job 1 and excells at doing job 2. :( Of course, I also know that my loathing for exercise doesn't help any. :o

Anyway, have a great day, gang. Keep moving and shaking and heading in that great downward direction. Regardless of whether the journey is faster or slower, we will all get there in the end, as long as we do the right stuff. :carrot:

Good morning girls. Hope everyone had a good nights sleep. I was up off and on all night but feel pretty good today.

Erin, I hope the Graduation goes well. We had ours last Friday and let me tell you I cried like a baby. And guess what, I have to go through that again next year with my youngest. It is so hard to believe they grow up so fast. But I should know how fast it goes my oldest will be in high school next year. Booo Hoooo them getting older makes me older.

Linda, I am sorry that things arent moving faster for you, I also know that things will eventually slow down or stall for me. You have a very cute cat, we recently got 2 kittens. One was given to us by a friend and the other my husband found, it was very skinny and not very healthy so we took it in and are loving it back to health.

Cheryl, Where are you guys going on vacation? We aren't going to take a real vacation this year but plan on having a few mini vacations(such as floating or rowing the river). Our next trip will be to Texas for a weekend to visit a friend we havent seen in years.

Lois, I knew it would move pretty fast the first couple of weeks but figured it would stall out. I feel like I am keeping a pretty good pace with this. I know that if I don't start getting more exercise I will stop loosing completely but the problem is fitting it in with all of the running we have been doing lately.

Michelle, yesterday was very slow. Maybe today will be a little faster around here. It seems like we are loosing a few friends. I havent seen Tracey for awhile. Who else is missing. I know that Robsia said she reads even when she doesnt post. I wonder how her losses are going.

Well not much new with me today. Just the same as always bout time for me to get to work. I guess we did have one Non-Weightloss Related Victory yesterday in our house. My husband is going to be promoted. He will now be Sergent First Class (for those of you who dont know he is in the Army). After this rank change he will have only 2 more promotions to go before he will be topped out and wont be able to go any higher.

Ok enough of that. See you all later.

Good Morning Girlies ~~ Glad to see everyone is back posting and doing good! It's a very cool rainy morning here, but it's fine with me compared to the horrible heat we had just a week ago!

Robbin You did a lot of exercising with rowing-great job! You're doing so good also with your weight loss! Dropping 2 more pounds is great; I've been a little frustrated lately, and I hope mine starts dropping again soon! Did you say that you went back to using Fitday again to count your calories? Congratulations on your DH's promotion! I have seen Tracey around the board some, just not here lately.

Cheryl You did so good yesterday at Applebees; I don't think I would have been so good! I'm going to make that receipe you posted sometime also as it sounds very good!

Tina Glad you had a nice weekend, spending time with your mom, and atleast you got to go shopping! Thanks for your kind words!

Linda I love you avatar; very cute cat! Thanks for the info on the avatar pictures. Some of mine show up regular size and some are shrunk down?:?:

Lois I love our park up the road because it's so pretty, but always very busy; I think everyone else has the same suggestion of going there! That will be nice when school is out and you don't have to worry what time you go up to the park.

Erin Thanks for your kind words! The avatar thing is really confusing, but I'll just deal with it the way it is. I think I will post a question about it though.

Good morning girlies! I had a really good day for exercising yesterday and I'm quite pleased with myself. I did 1.75 miles on the treadmill, but I had it inclined halfway, that was the first time for any such incline. I burned 254 calories as opposed to the 175 I usually burn. Then after supper I did my BL dvd, toning with weights and then came up and went for a walk around the neighborhood which measured out to be 2.1km. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do that again because it's raining cats and dogs outside today. But I will definitely be doing my indoor stuff.

My daughter is feeling under the weather. She has a fever of 100.5 this morning, no appetite and a cough. She is getting liquids down though and I'm giving her tylenol to control the fever. It was a long night lastnight!

Lois, I'm glad you think it's doable. I was a little worried that it may sound too "out there". Thanks for standing on the side lines and cheering me on as I try to do this.

Robbin, that's exactly how I think of losing weight. Only such and such more pounds and I'll be the "thirties", "twenties", and the "teens"! Ten pound incriments seems so doable doesn't it. Nice to hear you're enjoying the ride so far, I hope that it never slows down! LOL! Congratulations to your husband. Good news!

Erin, just as long as you keep choking down some positive self-talk all will be good. I may get all Dr. Phil on you now, but like he says we live what we say to ourselves. After a while of being positive in your head it will rub off on you on the outside. Things will become easier after awhile...keep treading water and holding your head above water. I'm here for you girl. I hope your scale behaves to its day surgery! LOL!

Linda, I agree...anything I lose between now and the time I go will be a true gift. I know that you're faced with an extra challenge of trying to lose, and you've kept a really up beat attitude about it. It may be slow coming off, but it's still coming off nonethless. Congrats to you Linda for all your effort and successes so far! Oh yeah, now that you've figured out how to post a pic...how about putting a face to the name??!! Come on....

Have a great day ladies! May it be one full of effort and strides! I'll check back later!

Michelle, looks like we've posted at the same time. Thanks, time with mom is always fun. But she's a little hard on my budget! LOL! Kidding...but she does always seem to find the perfect things that I "think I need"!

You may have mentioned this before so forgive me for making you repeat yourself. But what plan are you following? What is your game plan? Maybe we can make a few suggestions and get that nasty scale moving for you.

Hope you have a good day!

Tina Thanks for asking about my plan as I've been a little confused lately!:?: I have been online logging in my calories and they have me at a range of 1200-1550, but like yesterday, I had 1609. I was trying to write down everything, but then I got out of doing that also. I haven't started adding my WATP exercise back in yet, but I'm going to start that again. I just find it so overwhelming to know what is the correct calorie range/carbs/fat/protein I should be having each day. How have you worked yours out to know what is correct for you? Sorry for going on so much, but I've been a little overwhelmed and confused lately, so it's been affecting my attitude and mind again lately. Thanks for your help!

Robbin...Move the ticker! I would if it was me. It's a great moral booster and we can use all the boost we can get! We are going to Oregon to visit family and I can't wait for July to get here.

Tina...It would be great to drop the weight fast, but anything worth having you have to work hard to get it and to keep it off for good.:carrot: Hope your daughter is feeling better.

Erin...Batiks is fabric with many shades of color in it. The color is usually very rich and vibrant, and it make a quilt or wallhanging stand out. Hope you got your scale to work and that you are out of your funk real soon. Sounds like you need to have an emotional poop!;)

Linda...You will love the pasta dish. If I hadn't of made it, I wouldn't believe it was low fat.

Michelle...We are going to be in the 80's today and it is already humid. Hate to have to turn the central air on, but I will.:D I'm following WW, but trying to stay between 1300-1500 calories a day. I limit on what I eat in the white stuff (potatoes, rice, bread) and try to eat whole grains only. I have gone to brown rice, Healthy Choice Whole Wheat bread, whole wheat pasta and yams. I have also gone to eating Egg Beaters for breakfast. 1/2 cup of egg beaters is 70 calories, and I usually add 1 veggie sausage patty broken up and sliced mushrooms to make myself a scramble. Slice of toast, piece of fruit and 1 cup of skim milk. It's around 300-350 calories or 7 pts.

Got up early and did my workout with Richard and the gang. Going out for a walk this afternoon and see if I can sweat some more fat off. I got my first row of kids on the quilt this morning and I'm not happy. I had it all layed out and then went back and pressed them down, and I'm off by about 1/2 inch on one side. My perfectionism creeps out, but there is nothing I can do about it. I'm hopping I plan better for the other three sides left to do.
I'll try to check back later. Have a good day chicks.

Cheryl

Michelle, it seems that there are so many plans out there that they're hard to choose what's right for you. For myself I find it easier to maintain my fat grams and calories. For my aunt, she's on a diet where she doesn't mix her carbs and proteins. If she has protein for lunch, she'll wait a couple of hours till she'll have a carb. Doesn't make much sense to me but she swears by it. She can't seem to stick with the low cal, low fat game.

I get really confused too, about how much of each of carbs and proteins I should limit myself to. So I really don't bother recording them. I'm doing what works for me and what I feel is easiest to stick to. Which is just two recordings...oh yeah, of course I tend to watch the sodium intake aswell. Otherwise I could be eating something low fat and low cal but kill me with salt and the next day I'm walking around like a gold fish! LOL!

But really it all boils down to caloires in vs. calories out. And guess what, your limitations as far as calories go are on target. I think the biggest thing that will help you get things moving is to start moving. It seems hard and overwhelming at first but when you start getting results you'll be a maniac and it will seem you can't live without it for fear you're scale won't budge. And don't forget to drink water and lots of it...that'll help "flush" your system.

If you find it a little too much to take in at once, just committ to it for one week and see what happens. Drink lots of water, keep the calories you're doing and try to fit in a workout a day, preferably 1/2hr. and make it a sweaty one if you can. Gotta get that heart pumping!

I hope this helps. I am no way a professional or should be offering any advice..but this is what has worked for me and it's still going. Good luck!

Cheryl, thanks...I finally managed to get a pancake into her. She seems to be more lively but fever is still there. You go girl...getting up and getting that workout in early. Hope you have a good walk!

Cheryl, Tina & Robbin (who PM'd me) ~~ THANK YOU everyone for all of your help and concern! I'm going to try your suggestions and see how it goes. I am going to start back with my WATP, but with 4-5 days a week to start out; then work my way up again. I know I've been getting so worked up and overwhelmed about the calories, instead of just concentrating on eating good and exercising. I will try all of this and let you know how it works for me!

Hey ladies! Well the scale survived surgery and of course i had to get on, first time 269.1 second time 269.1 and then i stopped! I won't move my ticker yet until tomorrow morning depending on what i get then. I am still fighting TREMENDOUS urges to binge and cravings for sugar good old fashioned sugar, candy bar, cake, real ice cream!  I am trying to keep busy and fill up on good stuff. Anybody else like celery with cream cheese? anyway, i am hanging in so far and will try to update in the morning.

Michelle I konw what you mean about getting overwhelmed with it all, can i have this, how much of that will keep me in line, you can really make yourself nuts!!! Sounds like you are getting on track and keeping a sensible plan. Every doc i have had to deal with lately is harping on exercise and activity but i agree, it is hard to work into real life the way they want you to sometimes!

Linda I know it has got to get discouraging to see others losing and talking about how it is coming off faster than they expected, i really admire you for hanging in there with us and continuing to offer support and encouragement. I really wish there was some magical thing we could do as a group to get you over the hump and get that scale moving a little faster. I know reality is that our prayers and encouragement are all we can offer. Hang in there!

Cheryl I think i have emotional diarrhea right now!!! But slowly i am getting there. I know this is normal change of lifestyle struggles and will pass with time the key is consistency. the fabric sounds really cool, can't wait to see it when you are done!

Robbin I found myself surprisingly teary eyed at the graduation. She did really well, actually sang and did the motions. She can be terribly shy and just stands there, but seems like we are starting to get better about that! I still can't believe my 4# 14 oz baby girl is growing up!!! she was supposed to stay my baby forever! Congrat for hubby on the promo!

Tina No problem, go doctor Phil on me any time. I have read his book before but never changed anything i did during the time i read. Now that I have a better grip on eating maybe reading it again will help. i am choking frequently on the self talk and really trying to make myself aware of all the negative things i say, they are so automatic though sometimes i totally miss that that is what is going on! Good thing i like to swim, the head is at least nose out of the water but that is about it! Hope your daughter is doing better and the fever is gone. Strep is going around here again but so far we have managed to avoid that bug!

Gotta run time to get my fishes out of the pool (10foot X 6 foot blow up thing) and head for the real bath tub and then supper! What shall i have? Hmmmmm, Will let you know in the am! Thanks ya'll for everything, there is no way to really express how much all of this is helping me!!!!!!!

Michelle, sounds like a good plan. Take it slow and move on from there. You've discovered the secret to weight loss...eating good and exercising. Now I wonder if you start advertising it will you get as much profit as those with the "magic pill" and "magic equipment"? hahaha! I look forward to seeing some posts where the fairy fat mother has visited you.

Erin, glad to hear your scale has pulled through. I really was hoping that you didn't have to go through getting used to a new scale. You know all scales seem to read differently. Never tried cream cheese and celery...I've had cheese whiz and celery..one of these days will have to try your version. You know I have his book (Dr.Phil), but never really finished it. Tried that when it first came out, but obviously wasn't serious enough about it then. I have the food guide too with the daily menus for the different stages. Keep swimming girl..you're almost to shore!

Have a great evening girlies!

Good evening girls. Just wanted to pop in before settling down for the night.

Erin, it is terrible how fast the babies grow up. My oldest is also my only girl, she is 14 going on 24. It seems like she went from just Loving her Barbies to Being IN LOVE:love: with her boyfriend overnight. And guess what, it doesnt get any easier to let go.

Michelle, Remember to take one step at a time. Try changing one thing a day. Maybe today change the way you eat breakfast and tomorrow lunch. Then the next day add a walk. Sometimes if we go slow it is easier to accept the change. And honestly I think you are the only one who knows what calorie range is good for you, what you can live with and what really works for you. We are here for you and if you need anything You can always PM me.

Tina, I hope the little one is feeling better. I hate it when my kids are sick, there is nothing you can do to make it better and you want to so bad.

Cheryl, I can just imagine you are counting the days till your vacation. I know when we lived in Hawaii I couldnt wait to come home to see family. here is a little :dust: to help you loose the amount you want to before vacation comes.

Nothing spectacular happended during my day today. I did make Low Fat Low Cal chicken Enchilada's for dinner and they were pretty good. I have enough to take some for lunch tomorrow but they are a little higher in fat grams than what i allow myself for lunch. I try to use half my daily fat grams for breakfast, snack, lunch and snack then have the other half for dinner. I am probably a weirdo for doing that but I prefer to have my larger meal for the evening.

Well ladies I am gonna finish watching the Country Music Awards then go to bed. See you all in the morning.

Erin - Thank you for your kinds words concerning my confused mind!:?: I know it can really get out of hand when I start thinking like I was and it's no fun!:(

Tina - I will let you know when my big weight loss advertisement comes out LOL! I will take it slow and get used to one thing at a time. It's hard to do that, because you know, we all want this weight off right now!:o I can't wait until the fairy fat mother visits me and I'll let you know when that happens!

Robbin - Thank you for your kind words also. I will change things slowly and I'll just have to try adjusting my calories around for awhile and see what works for me. I think I've made thos out to be a much worse situation than it should be. Your dinner sounded so good!

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR SHOWING YOUR CONCERNS AND KINDESS TOWARDS ME! I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGMENT ALL OF YOU GIVE HERE, AND I HOPE I CAN ALSO GIVE IT BACK IN RETURN! Have a good evening all...:grouphug:

Another thing my DH reminded me of tonight when I was talking about everything with him is that I need to remember what my doctor said to me. I have been on thyroid meds for 14 years now for an enlarged underactive thyroid, and she said I will lose weight, but it can be slower than others. Oh well, we'll just have to see. Thanks again for listening!

Good morning ladies, and yes it is a good morning!! :D The fairy fat mother finally made her "weigh" to Alabama! thanks for letting her out ladies! 268.6 this morning, so ticker has been moved and hopefully the 270's are gone for a LONG TIME!!:cb: :cb: :cb: I did 1.5 miles of the 3 mile watp for abs this morning and am finding my good mood hiding in the cracks again. I am coming to realize what my problem with mood may be and that the only answer to solving it is to keep going. I had gotten kind of hung up in the "yeah I've lost some weight, but I am still way bigger than i ever wanted to be" funk. Before i even thought about sharing that with ya'll i realized that I can only fix that by working hard and getting the rest off!! Wallowing in the "oh i am so fats" does me absolutely no good other than give me an excuse to keep gaining!!

Robbin I can't even imagine boyfriends!!! My daughter can be a real flirt already and fortunately is built nothing like her mothter so she will attract a lot of attention as she gets older. Her daddy already is feeling his feathers rufflle when the boys come around. I can't imagine what it is going to be like at 14!! I am locking her up!

Michelle No problem with support on confused minds, that is kind of my specialty, not fixing them but having them. Tina's advice to me about positive self-talk is good advice. You are right about the thyroid thing too. Any medical condition interfering with our weight loss has to be taken into consideration. I know it doesn't help when you are wanting to see that scale move but knowing you are doing what is right for your body is what really matters, if you stay true to that the weight will come off sooner or later!!!! Hang in there and keep doing what is good for YOU!

Tina First of all how is your daughter today? Second thanks so much for the continued encouragement! I am going to keep my eyes focused on the short term and the things i can so easily tell others but need to listen to myself! Have you finished all your landscpaing projects now?

I have about 5 weeks until i leave for PA for vacation so being at 250 by then is probably a little unrealistic, but at a 2# per week loss I can be below 260. My original goal was to be 190 by my 40th birthday and that is about 32 weeks away so 64 pounds at a 2 pound per week loss. Not enough for 190 but with a little extra effort maybe i can get the additional 14 pounds off i am wanting by then! I think just being under 200 by then would be more than enough to satisfy me!

Well ya'll have a blessed day! Keep strong, keep moving and do what is good for YOU! Love ya! Erin

:bravo: Erin, That is a great victory for you. Keep Chuggin and you just might get to where you want to be by the birthday. Oh and trust me the boyfriend thing is pretty scarry. You have to fight your husband because you understand how your girl feels but you have to fight your girl because you understand how your husband feels and some how you have to find a middle ground.

Michelle, The reason we are here is to help each other, if we didnt need the kind words and pep talks none of us would be here, so dont you worry about being down in the dumps and needing us. We are here for you babe:hug: .

Tina, I am still waiting for you to come and do some of my yard work. It seems like you have slowed down on yours a bit so is it my turn. LOL ya know I just got all of my yard mowed a few days ago and it's time to do it all again. I also need to clean out my water gardens and do some weeding in the flower beds. I just cant seem to find the time.

Cheryl, Linda, Lois, Lillian, Good morning to all of you beautiful ladies. It seems kinda quiet around here. We need something to liven things up a bit. Maybe we should do some thinking on how to keep the interest up for our group.

Well once again it is time to clock into work. Does it never end. LOL

Good Morning . . . boy is it cold this morning . . . only 8C (46F) when I was putting out the garbage. It's also pretty overcast with no promise of any sun in the forecast. :(

Wowee . . . I got to move my ticker a whole 2 lbs 'downeast' this morning. That old scale- seems to get cooperative just often enough to keep me from losing my mind entirely. :D

Michelle . . . Hey, you got a lot of good advice, but IMHO the answer is the one you and your husband arrived at . . . your thyroid medication. Just keep doing the good stuff, girl, and the rewards will follow. We can both curse our meds for making it slower than we'd like.

Erin . . . sounds like both the self-talk and the scale-repair have gone well. Believe me, I give thanks every day for all the encouragement I get from you and the other members of this group. It really does help. Congratulations on the loss and the great milestone. :D Those 270's are gone FOREVER (and that is definitely a long time).

Tina . . . You are so right . . . the real answer is to make sure that calories in are less than calories out . . . how we each get there is going to be totally unique. Hope your little one is feeling better.

Cheryl . . . You are doing absolutely great with the exercise, chickie. Your rewards will be coming really soon.

Robbin . . . You are absolutely right, too. You have to do what works for you. Have fun with those kittens. Congratulations to your husband. Afraid I don't really know how the US ranks compare to the Canadian, but my son was a Master Sargeant in the MP's when he retired (at the 20 year mark) and became a private cop. My DIL is still in the forces.

Well, off I go to get some stuff done . . . See you all really soon. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the downward direction at whatever speed is working for you. :carrot:

Special little giggle for Erin and Robbin . . . my oldest granddaughter is only eleven . . . but my son, the cop, is already getting concerned. He figures that between his job and the family dog (very large Rottie) he has nothing to worry about because the potential boyfriends will be so intimidated. My DIL just  at him.

Good morning girls!

Robbin, thanks for asking about Alyssa (you too Erin, I will answer you both here). Her temperature went down to 98.4, so thankfully it isn't something more concerning like an infection. Just regular cold stuff. The only thing I may have a concern with now is that in the corner of her eyeball is pink. I noticed yesterday that her eyes were red after she had slept, but I thought it had something to do with the fever because it did clear, all except the corner. ???? Once again your dinner has made me hungry. Next time you post, tell us how you prepared it. LOL! Your yard work sounds really intriguing.....NOT! hahaha!

Michelle, you go girl! You know I think we deserve a cut when you start raking it in! hahaa! Yes I know how hard it is to "weight" for things to start dropping. But it will eventually and every pound as small as it may be adds up to be something wonderful! I'm cheering for ya girl!!

Erin, I was so excited while reading your post. I'm glad you're finding your groove again. You're so right. There's nothing that nobody can do or say to change things for you but yourself. And the best way to do that is by picking yourself up and as hard as it is to trudge on is to keep doing it. Congratulations on the loss! I'm really happy for you! And for getting outta the need to lose 100lbs. I was really excited when I became a 99'er. As for my landscaping goes..it'll never be finished! LOL! I still have to finish a walk-way I have half completed in the backyard, made out of yard stone. I want to put a flower bed around my tree in the front and one along my walk-way coming up to my front door. But now that I'm going away it'll probably be next years assignments.

Linda, the weather is crummy here too. It's overcast about 10 degrees and forecasting a thunderstorm this afternoon. Congratulations on down another 2lbs. That's awesome, and you were just saying things would move more slowly for you...you've beat me this week! hahaha! Hey BTW, you still answer me about putting a face to the name??? :) LOL@ your son! I have a while before I have to worry about this..she's only four. But I'll be keeping that in mind when the time does come..haha!

Well, not much to report from me. The scale is still hanging on after I've been really good these past few days. I'm gonna blame it on Aunt Flo, afterall she's the one to blame for everything! I'm not too concerned, I'm still in good spirits and still quite motivated to keep up the honest work. In fact I have a date with the treadmill in a few. Have a great one ladies and I will check back later!!

Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you about my NSV from my husband. Lastnight in bed he was......you know......caressing.....and he said "honey, you're like someone who is melting". HEHEHE! Then this morning I told him that I hope to have between 16-24lbs. gone by the time we leave. He knows how much I've lost so far but doesn't know the "big" picture. He's been trying to figure things out since I've started...LOL! He's like that'll be 64-72lbs. I think that's enough! Little does he know that I have another 40lbs. after that. But for him to think that's enough makes me feel so slim!

That has put a little extra hop in my step this morning!!

Good Morning Girls ~~ Another rainy day here, but that's fine with me!:)

Tina ~ Thank you for your kind words. What a great NSV you had last night! Your DH sounds very supportive and encouraging. My older daughter's name is also Alyssa, but we pronounce it 'Alisa' and she's always having to correct people.;)

Linda ~ I do know that being on meds will take me longer, but I did it last year, and I know I just have to be in the right frame of mind, and I will do it again, slowly but surely!

Robbin ~ Thank you for your kind caring words. I'm always here for you and everyone else also.

Erin ~ GREAT job with your weight loss!:cp: :bravo: Being out of the 270s and less than 100 pounds to go is such a great accomplishment! Thank you also for your kind words!

Robbin Thanks so much for the congrats, i am still reveling in my moment! I know what you mean about being in the middle of it all with the daughter thing. I just hope i have a ways to go before i really have to deal with it!

Linda:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Yeah!!!!!! So glad to hear you saw that scale go down! Hate your weather is still pyucky, i am really getting into summer way before i want to, 90 degrees and humid already and we have a cold front coming that will drop it to the low 80's later this week, whoopee! We have been kind of dry and sunny though, which is nice to be able to let the kids get out and burn some energy! Keep up your good work and steady pace! Would love to see a picture of you! Oh yeah, my husband is a big time hunter and has many guns, one of his friends told him to always be cleaning a gun when a guy comes to see Amelia and a pastor told him to pray with them before they leave the house as well, with a gun in plain view of course! they are so funny!

Tina Maybe getting a little too much info here (TMI), but to put it plainly i can already tell a difference in the sex department as well. My husband has lost a little too and things just seem to fit better :o :o
Okay now that i have myself blushing on to better topic. The yard, yeah that will work, i am about to give up on mine, found another dead plant and the weeds have become part of the family, so we'll see what happens!

Gotta run, I am supposed to be doing paper work so we can go out to eat tonight with a friend for her birthday. OOPPS, i gotta get a card! And i have no idea what to eat, we will go to a chinese place and i have no idea what to do there, i love their fried rice and sesame chicken but probably not the best choice. Portion control will be the key and we may just have to chalk up one not so healthy meal to friendship! See ya'll later

Hey do any of you follow American Idol, I am very close to Birmingham AL where Taylor is from and just wondered what other folks thought, from here it sounds like he's got it all wrapped up, but we are probably getting a skewed media version!

Ya'll have a good one! Erin

I did not stick with my meal plan for lunch today. I was supposed to have Chicken soup with like 3 grams of fat well instead I ordered out with the receptionist. I ordered a baked potato with smoked chicken a very small portion(probabley 1 tbs) of sour cream, a sprinkle of cheese and a sprinkle of bacon bits on it. It all added up to like 12rams of fat which is still a good choice but.........with breakfast I am now up to 17 grams and havent had any snacks and my dinner was going to be about 10 in its self so now I am having to make a change for dinner. I think I am going to have fat free bologna on bread and fat free chips.

Well got to get back to work

Linda, awww come on...you will not break the camera. But it's your decision and if you're uncomfortable...that's fine.

Michelle, yes he is very supportive. Sometimes overly supportive...hehe...but I need that to keep my eye on the prize. If pick up something not necessary he looks and says are you sure you want to eat that? Which he's right I usually get upset with myself after.

Erin, LOL! I get you girl, no need to elaborate at all! haha! It's quite alright alot of us has had this conversation already and we all feel the same! Things are better in the bedroom...definitely! I'm looking forward to watching the finale of American Idol...I'm on the fence..I'll be happy for either one. At the chinese restaurant maybe look for some steamed items as opposed to stir fried, deep fried or pan fried. But hey like Linda said, stay away from the scales and drink a ton of water afterwards.

Robbin, not to fret. If you do go over a bit let it be a flip flop day to keep your body guessing. I'm sure you've been on plan so long that it will really not have an affect.

And now....I was looking online for some mood uplifters and in my book that means jokes. I love to laugh! Can you tell by now?? Robbin had mentioned earlier that we should do something to keep interest up daily (not that there is anything wrong now, but who can turn down a joke?) Anyways, Via PM she'd mentioned maybe some jokes or trivia questions....so here's what I found. Enjoy!!

~The most fattening thing you can put in an ice cream sundae is a spoon.

~The toughest part of a diet isn't watching what you eat. It's watching what other people eat.

~Diets are for women who not only kept their girlish figure but doubled it.

~Many women reduce and reduce, yet still never manage to become a bargain.

~A dietitian was once addressing a large audience in Chicago. "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is awful. Vegetables can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the germs in our drinking water."

Continued the dietician, "But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all; and all of us eat it. Can anyone here tell me what lethal product I'm referring to? You, sir, in the first row, please give us your idea." The man lowered his head and replied, "Wedding cake?"

~One time when I was home visiting my folks, my mom asked me to set the table for dinner. I opened the refrigerator and taped to the inside of the door was a risqué picture of a lovely, slender, perfectly built, but scantily-clad young woman.

"Mom, what's this?" I asked.

"Oh, I put that up there to remind me not to over-eat," she answered.

"Is it working?" I asked.

"Yes and no," she explained. "I've lost 15 pounds, but your dad has gained 20!"

Have a great evening girlies!

Tina

Hi Girls, Just a quick check in since I have been gone most of the day and I'm tired. I'll come back tomorrow to do personals. Went to WW today and their scale finally moved 3.4 lbs. Mine said 1.4lbs this morning, so I moved my ticker a pound. Pouring down rain and humid today, so i didn't get a walk in. WATP if it rains tomorrow.

Erin...Watched American Idol, and the person we have voted for all along, WON. I won't say who for those ladies that live out west.

Have a great night, see you tomorrow.

 Hi Ladies...

Just needed to check in. Not too much going on. We had absolutely beautiful weather :sunny: yesterday. I have not been on here much because I am having temporary problems with my pc monitor. They are going to send out a replacement.. When I bought this monitor it was over $500 dollars and I really love the quality but then it started having blackouts after nine months or so. They promptly replaced it because it was under warranty. .. the new one worked great, until now... then it started blacking out too. I contacted the web site and found there was a recall on the model and call their CS... and they are going to replace it with an upgraded version. So you can imagine my frustration trying to use my computer and the screen keeps blacking out. Anyway I hope I get the replacement soon. I need to come here and get my daily fix of support and motivation! :(

Congrats to all for their victories, be they scale, or NSV. I will try and catch up soon.

List your ten favorite foods.
List your five favorite beverages.
List all green vegetables that look like marsh grass, fur balls, or little trees.
List water.
Avoid 1 & 2; eat only 3; drink only 4.

Howdy girls, well i did pretty well last night, no fried anything, no rice and no cake. I had ordered brown rice thinking this was an acceptable substitute for fried rice but it was white rice with some sort of coloring, no good for sure. My sugar was real good but like you said the water weight is definitely getting me. Up to 269.8 this morning. I know i said i wasn't going to weigh but i can't help myself. I didn't feel swollen so i thought what the heck and i really am kind of obsessive about it. Always afraid i am going to get off track if i don't see what that scale says.

Michelle you must have been posting the same time i was yesterday, thanks for the congrats!! Has your rain stopped yet?? we could actually use a little here right now!

Lois Sorry to hear about the computer woes, electronics can be infuriating, so can customer service departments! Glad to hear they are replacing it for you! Hope your ankle is doing well and you are still an exercise queen!

Cheryl :carrot: Whoohoo on the loss!! That is great!! I watched about the last 5 min of Idol last night, the news here has been going nuts! I am kind of surprised Taylor won since Birminham has had someone in the finals so often, i just didn't think they'd let him have the title. Kind of funny there were more people voting for that than there were people voting for the president!! What does that say about Americans!

Tina Loved the funnies!!! I've got a few stuffed somewhere in a folder around here I will have to dig them out to share!

Hope everyone is having a great day! will try to check in later, time to go pack my lunch and head out to torture people in their own homes, no I mean do therapy with them!

Good Morning, Ladies . . .

It was very foggy and cold first thing this morning but now the sun has come out for a little; but it is supposed to rain later and be rainy all weekend. :(

Robbin . . . I agree with Erin and Tina . . . Chill out, girl. One day cannot make or break things for you. Overall, you are doing great. Love your little funny.

Erin . . . as mentioned above, you are so right. Told you so . . . but the www could have been worse. :D

Tina . . . I particulary love the first couple of your little tidbits . . . soooo true.

Cheryl . . . Congratulations on the loss. and the added bonus that the WW scale is catching up.

Lois . . . Sorry to hear about the computer probs. Hope the new, new monitor lasts longer than the old one or the old, new one.

Here's my little contribution to the food for thought . . . just try to make sure you only think about it . . . no testing out the theories, please.

RULES FOR LIVING -- CHOCOLATE CHAPTER

. . . Nothing recommended by somebody as cute as the Easter Bunny can possibly be bad for you.
. . . If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're not eating it fast enough.
. . . Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices, and strawberries all count as fruit; therefore you can eat lots.
. . . If you eat some chocolate before each meal it will take the edge off your appetite and you'll probably eat less.
. . . Eat equal amounts of dark and light chocolate to ensure a balanced diet.
. . If you are worried about getting the chocolate home from the store on a hot day, eat it in the parking lot before it can possibly melt.
. . . A pound of chocolate can provide your total daily intake of calories all in one source; what a convenience food

Have a great day, gang. Keep moving and shaking and heading in that great downward direction. :carrot: Stay away from the candy store. :nono:

We had a small family emergency yesterday when my daughter(Vicki, 14) went missing for about an hour and a half after school. Well I will check back in later.

Good morning girls. I have a few minutes before I have to head out and pick up my daughter from preschool, so I thought best spend them here!

Cheryl, congratulations on the loss! Pssst...I would have claimed the other two pounds aswell! hehehe! You're doing great, keep it going girl. That's one less pound you have to worry about.

Lois, ohhh...I would really lose my patience with my monitor too. I hope your replacement gets here soon enough. I miss you around here! Enjoy your great weather! We've been getting dumped on since last week. It's making my grass grow crazy and I can't get out to mow it!

Robbin, it's too bad they don't make leashes that long huh? It sure had to be some true heart pumping moments, I'm glad she's okay! Love the funny BTW. It's so true!

Erin, good for you sticking to your guns and tried to make healthy choices even though it was a celebration outting. Like Linda said, that water retention weight isn't that bad. It's actually really good. Just keeping sloshing that water down today and you'll get rid it real fast. Looking forward to reading some of your funnies.

Linda, now there's some rules fit for me. Well actually it pretty much described me before I started living healthier. LOL! I'm still a chocoholic but I don't endulge anymore. I have my substitutes that seem to maintain my impulses.

Not much new to report with me. No scale victories yet. But I'm still in the game, excercising twice a day and really keeping my eye on the ball. Hopefully I'll see something real soon. Wouldn't that be the way it is....so motivated to lose a certain amount and then your body decides it wants to hang on to it. OH welll....there's always tomorrow!

Love the funnies ladies. Nice to have a good chuckle!

. . . the grey one is MOUSE . . . he's the one who thinks he is a reincarnated Egyptian God.

Now, I think I'll try the quilted stuff . . .

The burgundy/pink one I think I mentioned before . . . it really isn't sure if it's a jacket or a poncho . . . it's got funny little bat-wing sleeves.

The sleevless one I made for my SIL along with the bag . . . but I think it will be too big so I'm putting it away for a while . . . hopefully by Fall it will fit me.

And finally, the ponchos for the granddaughters . . . they are both the same (except for size) but I turned the little one inside out so you could see the reverse . . . they are reversible, if somebody wants to wear it that way.

I actually took a picture of myself, too . . . and the camera still works . . . but I think you'll have to wait to see that . . . maybe until I have a face-lift. :D

Okay, just typed out a really long reply and lots of interesting info and somehow lost it all!!!! Computer demons out to get me! Anyway, i will try to reproduce, hang in there this may get a little choppy

Linda Love the quilted clothes, especially the jacket. I knew the camera wouldn't break with a picture of you, hope to see it soon. I am going to try to attach a photo of me (how i lost everything the first time) so if i can you can! Cats look so big to me!! Maybe i jsut always had little cats! Loved the chocolate info!!

Robbin:yikes: :yikes: OH MY GOD!!! I would have been so scared!!! I am soooo glad your daughter was okay! I "lost" Amelia in a store for about 2 minutes one time and I went into a complete panic, I can't even begin to imagine how scared you must have been!!!! Have you stopped shaking yet? TEENAGERS!!!! Can we send them off until they get through this stage?? Amelia has already started using the "I forgot" excuse!

Tina I really thought the water weight would have been more too, i am still afraid it may show up tomorrow. This weekend we are "camping" with my mother in law at a campground about 4 miles from my house. They are planning to have campfire biscuits (made over the fire on a stick so they are like a bowl you fill up with all kinds of goodies), smores and all kinds of other things that i have no business eating, so i am hoping that i will see a little loss in the am to keep me motivated. We'll see, i am really hungry right now and have already had a lot today. I am about to get in the pool with the kids though so that should help get me in check! I understand about the plateau thing! BELIEVE ME!!! I hope you can follow the advice you gave me! Keep trudging along and that scale will move!!!

Well I am going to try to attach a photo of me from my beach trip. I am on a boat in the waters between Alabama and Florida. Hope one day that this will be a before to show the tremendous loss I have accomplished! Okay never mind i can't get the file to the right size. No time to play with it now, kids are screaming and i hear what sounds like someone throwing things!!!! It's been a long day in the Brantley House!!!!!

Hey while i am thinking about it does anyone track measurements?? this may be one way to deal with scale plateaus, especially for the exercise maniacs out there!!

Linda, I love the name mouse for a cat. That's so cute! I see you're getting quite aquainted with your new toy. Didn't take long at all...good for you. You're not as technically challenged as you thought you were! :)

Erin, one suggestion...notepad. I minimize the notepad screen over the 3FC thread, read and respond as I go. Copy and Paste and that's it. Saves a lot of grief! I wish you all the strength in the world to be able to turn down smores around the campfire. That will truly be a test, well one of mine for sure. On the other hand I hope you have a wonderful time "camping"! I wish I would have taken measurements in the beginning. You're right, it would be another great way to record your progress other than the scale.

Evening Chicks . . . Just popping in to say goodnight . . .

 Liza  So glad to see you back. Really missed you. We don't mind listening to the troubles. We all get them from time to time. Stick around, girl. We are all here to help with anything that bugs you. We all need help to stay on track. ;)

 So glad your daughter is OK, Robbin. Boy I would have been really freaked. But all's well that ends well. Glad you like the jacket.

 Erin . . . another pink jacket fan. Sorry you didn't get the picture to work out. Maybe we'll both succeed in showing ourselves one of these days.

As a matter of interest, Goldi is actually a fairly small cat (but hairy) and a little too thin at about 7.5 pounds. I think she's bulimic. :dizzy: She tends to eat too fast and then throw up. Jazz is a little too fat at 10 lbs; he could do to lose a pound; and yet he is the one who doesn't like treats. Mouse, of course, is absolutely perfect (just ask him)(the vet agrees) at 12 lbs. He is not a tiny cat, but looks even bigger because of all the hair. He is really weird; he likes romaine lettuce. I can never get it into the fridge without him stealing some right out of the bag. Not as fond of it if it's given to him willingly. :o

 Tina . . . ain't it always the way. Never fear, it will come. Just keep doing the good stuff. I'm actually quite amazed I've managed this electronic technology stuff, too.

Anyway, goodnight all. See you tomorrow. Have a great evening. :carrot:

Liza! It's great to see you girl! I was wondering what had happened to you. I'm sorry you've been down, it's so hard to fight to better yourself when you're feeling not in the least bit interested. I think you've gotten the wrong idea about joining a weight loss support group. You're not only here to offer support, you're here to gain it aswell girlie! We want to hear about your woes and hopefully try to help you through them. We all know the ups and downs of weight loss, we can relate! One thing that I can tell right now is that you haven't really given up because you're here. And there's also new beginning here. When you are ready step on the scale, take the damage with a grain of salt and try again. It's not the end of world if you've gained, it will come off the same way it did before. It can be done! Just believe that you can do it...one day, one pound at a time. Hope you continue on with us!

Linda, I know, I'm still hanging on to the belief and rules of weight loss. Keep doing the good stuff and it WILL come off...it has to, it doesn't have a choice! LOL!! Thanks.

Liza...So glad to hear from you. Sorry you are feeling down, but proud of you for not giving up. We are here for you, so don't be afraid to share when you are having a bad day, week or month. We have all had them. Whining is allowed.

Robbin...I'm so glad that you found your daughter. Your heart must of stopped, mine would have!!! Loved your joke.

Linda...Your poncho's and jackets are so cute!! Loved your kitty pictures!! My Princess is 16 pounds. The vet says she needs to loose weight, but try and tell her that!! Love your chocolate joke, very cute!!!

Erin...Camping sounds like so much fun. Hope you have a real good time. Pool sounds nice also.

Tina...Glad your little one is over what ever she had. Glad it wasn't the flu. Do you have plans for this weekend? We have had rain for the last couple of days. I don't mind the rain, but it does make the grass grow faster. Seem like we just get done mowing and we have to do it all over again.

Michelle and Liliann...Hope you two are having a good day and the weather is nice where you live.

It was dreary, damp and rainy here today, but the sun finally came out at about 6 this afternoon. We are suppose to warm up by tomorrow. Today I started sewing my kids on my quilt. It's looking pretty nice and I love my new sewing machine. Got a call this after from my social worker wanting to know if I could do respite for a couple of days, so I said yes. Knew my hubby was using the spare room for storing his car parts, but not that many parts! Took me a couple of hours just to move parts around and get the bed cleared off. That man and I are going to have a talk when he gets home.
Hope you ladies have a good night. See you tomorrow.

LOIS...I'm sorry about your monitor! I know how frustrating it is when the computer isn't working! That happened to us just before Christmas, and we finally went the day after Christmas and bought a new one, and it's wonderful!;)

ERIN...The rain had stopped today and was beautiful and sunshiny. Then about 1pm, it started pouring down rain and hailing. It pretty much rained the whole afternoon and evening, just downpoured buckets!:(

ROBBIN...I'm so sorry to hear about the mishap with your daughter yesterday! That has always been one of my worries, and I don't know how I would ever handle that situation, but I'm so glad she was safe!

LINDA...Very cute pictures of the cats! My oldest daughter was showing us some pictures tonight that she had taken with her new digital camera, and now I'm thinking of getting one!;)

LIZA...So glad to see you back; you were truly missed! I've been going through some down thoughts here lately also, but all of the ladies here have been so supportive and encouraging, so it really does help to come here and talk it out.

CHERYL...Our weather today has been very crazy. I first thought it was going to be nice and sunshiny, and then we got buckets of rain and hail; crazy!:dizzy:

Good morning ladies!!! :carrot: Hoping by throwing a little pep in the email it will get me going today. I am dragging bad, very long week to say the least and a long day ahead today! Since i couldn't get my picture to download as an attachment i am going to try it as an avatar, we shall see! Scale was kind this morning 269.1 again, so going to try to exercise and keep on plan and hopefully I'll be moving back to 268 and below very quickly!

Lizza So glad to see you again, had wondered where you had gone! I was new here when you took a break. I have had many highs and lows since you left and these women have been awsome! Don't be afraid to come and complain the support you will get can definitely help! I agree ice cream is the best comfort food!

Tina Actually my husband's family had never heard of smores until i came along and now they are all hooked, if i'd have just kept my little secret in the first place...... Anyway, i am feeling strong this morning, we will just have to see how long it lasts! Hope you are continuing on the high motivation and positive attitude! That plateau will break soon!

Linda the weights sounded kind of small for what i pictured the cats to be. Fur goes a long way i guess! Glad i don't have any! :D !

Michelle Sorry to hear you are still dealing with freakish weather, it can really put a damper on your day! No pun intended! Anyway, hope things are brightening for you soon, not just the weather either! Hey did your Mom ever make it back to the doctor?

Cheryl Would love to see a pic of the quilt in progress. Respite care is a wonderful thing, i know the families you do it for are so appreciative!! Husbands can be so difficult sometimes!

Well girls so far the pep is not getting me going, and i've got paperwork to get done before heading out for the day, first patient at 7:00am Hope ya'll have a fantastic day and keep the sneakers to the track!

Good Morning . . . I actually think the sun is going to shine through today. It figures, we had rain for our Victoria Day weekend last week and now we get sun. It is still pretty cool, but I don't mind cool and sunny in the least. Hope your Memorial Day weekend weather is cooperative, everybody.

Tina . . . Absolutely true girl. If we just keep on doing the right things the weight definitely will come off . . . sometimes we'd like it to be faster and easier, of course, but nobody who promises it will be easy ever really means it. ;)

Cheryl . . . I know exactly what you mean about the grass. At this time of year you really can "watch it grow". :lol3: Have fun sewing down those dollies.

Michelle . . . Yes you definitely have to get a digital camera, they are fun . . . and downloading pictures has proven to be easier than I expected. Good luck with the exercise. If you get a love-it-bug, please get him to send his friends my way. :^:

Erin . . . Yep, I know that Mouse in particular looks huge. His hair is about 6 inches long on his mane. He is king of the furball problem of course, because he spends so much time grooming. Great job with the picture. Looks like you were having a great vacation.

Well, gang, thanks for all the compliments on the pictures. Guess I'll have to get to work on getting one of myself to post. My problem is that you're all so young and beautiful and I'm so old and not. It's one thing for you all to know that and quite another for you to actually see it. :o One of the few good things about extra weight . . . it keeps the skin puffed up so the wrinkles don't show so much . . . as my double chins are starting to shrink my saggy jowls get bigger. Stand by, picture will be coming soon.

Here's a little truism for today . . . Pet hair sticks to everything, except the pet . . . particularly true for cats like Mouse. :D

Have a really great weekend, everybody. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction. :carrot:

aww thanks for all the kind words, i missed u guys.
i dunno stuff is just all getting on top of me and im feeling like i cant cope, everything seems to be going wrong lately.
went shopping one day a couple weeks ago and thought id buy myself a new pair of jeans (retail therapy y'know) dunno why i did it but i went into the changing room, i havnt done that for years, lets just say it was a shock seing all those huge mirrors. if im buying clothes i just guess at the size and take them back for a bigger or smaller size if need to i dont do changing rooms usually,i avoid mirrors as much as i can, sometimes cant help catching a glimpse in a shop mirror or reflection in a window etc but i just look away and pretend its not me. but walking into that changing room really shocked and upset me. than theres the debts and the bills i cant pay, also my girlie probs which have been pretty much ok for the past year since i got an ius to lighten my periods have returned, now i always get depressed during that time of the month anyway, it must be a hormonal thing, but now im just so scared that its gonna get as bad as it was before and i just could not cope with going back to that, for a couple of years i was so depressed and in pain and i hardly left the house. so im all emotional and down and im so so tired all the time, i hardly have the energy to get out of bed in the morning never mind work out. urgh there i go me me me. everyone has problems, thats just life. really glad to see y'all are doing so well. wish i had the strength to do what you guys are doing.

Wanted to pop in and say good morning. I am running really late this morning. I had to take my car to the doctor, the air conditioner quit working and with the 98 degree days we have had here lately I have to have my air. I will definately be back after a bit to post some personals. I just gotta get a little work done before the boss gets here. LOL got to make him think I work really hard.

ERIN...I thought we had a new person here when I saw the avatar, and then realized it was you! You're very pretty and a very nice picture!;) Yes, my mom has been back to the doctor, but she's still been up to her same old/new habits, and I'm having to just get on with things, because it was starting to drag me down again and affect my whole mind set. Our weather is still crazy! It has gotten a lot colder since last night, and still pouring down rain.:(

LINDA...I'm definitely going to look into the camera. Is it easy to download pictures here to the computer, because I know nothing about the computer! I'm feelings so much better this morning because I did my WATP and I'm back on track!

ROBBIN...So sorry to hear about your car!:( A person really relies on the AC in the hot weather, especially 98 degrees, YUCK!:?:

Well I'm happy to say that I did my weekly weight in and I'm down 3 pounds; so I must finally be doing something right. Hope all of you have a great Friday!

First off I would like to thank you all for your concerns about my daughter. I have decided to let her live but have yet to decide "punishment". She was being a good friend by staying where she thought she was needed but.... she didnt call to let anyone know.

Erin, Wonderful picture. I have been on the ocean 2 times and got terribly sea sick both times. :barf: Yuck. I have always wanted to take a cruise but not sure I could handle it.

Tina, Thanks alot for the notepad Idea:idea: . It is much easier than taking notes on paper.

Liza, We are here for you girl. Just dump the problems here. We might not always be able to come up with a solution but I have learned it is always easier when you get it out. Everytime I dump on these ladies they always give great ideas. And remember that you do have the strenght to do this. As Tina has been telling us positive self talk really helps.

Linda, My MIL has a cat(snowball) that weighs in at 17 pounds. He is huge. And let me tell you she has cat hair all over her house. He sheds something aweful.

Cheryl, let me know if you had that talk with your hubby :rollpin: and if it worked. If it did I need to know what you said. My husband has so much military stuff packed in our house there isnt much room for anything else. Everytime I mention getting rid of some of it he throws a tantrum. lol

Well girls, I got a call from my mechanic and the total cost is definately more than I was expecting :faint: but oh well I will live with it because it is harder to live with out the air.

Ya know I have really got to find some time to get some exercise in. :running: I know that the scales would move alot faster if I did. It seems like the 5 minutes here and there that I fit in just isnt enough. And since it isnt real exercise but just playing basket ball or tag with my kids I dont count it.

Hope everyone has a great day and weekend. I will try to check back in over the weekend but if I dont know I am thinking of you all.:grouphug:

It's me again . . . Ok I'm going to change my avatar :D . . . don't say I didn't warn you and you'd better look quick because I'm not sure how long I can stand looking at myself every time I post before I go completely

Liza . . . You have got the strength, girl. I know you do. Things will get better for you and soon you'll wonder why you've been feeling so rotten. We all go through periods of deep depression and when you've got any kind of medical situation that affects hormonal levels, those depressions can really be the pits. Whenever you are feeling really down, think about that wonderful little gift from God named Andrew. Remind yourself how much he loves you and needs you and how much you love him. Hug him every chance you get and practice smiling. You'll really get to like it. Here's a dose of the good stuff to help you along the way :dust:

Robbin . . . See you later, gator.

Michelle . . . Congratulations on the nice loss. You are obviously doing a lot that's right. ;) I found it was easier to post pictures than I ever thought it would be . . . after I got the initial kinks out, of course.

And will you just look at that, Michelle. It came out BIG . . . believe me I would have been happy with small. Oh well.

Have a great afternoon. :carrot:

LINDA...Thank you for your kind words! Your very pretty and I really like your picture! You're making me want a new digital camera more and more all the time, and yes, your picture is bigger. I may have to ask you for some help if I get one, if that's okay.;)

Robbin . . . Sorry . . . I'm not ignoring you; you kind of snuck in there on me when I wasn't looking. . . Kids are all the same . . . they tend to see only what is right in front of their nose. Trust me, their vision does get longer as they grow older. Although there were certainly times with my boys that I was sure none of us could possibly survive until they got out of their teens, we all managed to get there. I know exactly how you feel, air conditioning in the car is no more a luxury than the engine is . . . at least for me.

Michelle . . . I'm absolutely flattered to think that I might actually be able to help somebody with technological stuff. Wow. Of course, I'd love to help if I can.

Have a good one, girls. :carrot:

Good morning ladies. Well I guess I can claim a small victory this morning...and it is small. The ticker is finally right...if you remember last week I said I was 121.5 but the tickers never records decimals. So now this morning it is correct. I was hoping for something a little more, but hey you take what you can get.

Cheryl, this weekend I have a graduation to go to. It actually starts tonight. I bought a little "black" dress for it but it's pouring down rain. Which I don't mind because I'll be able to cover up some! LOL!

Michelle, Sundays are my day off. But I must confess saturdays are a little slack aswell. Sometimes I'll fit it in and sometimes not. Well not my usual routine anyhow, but sometimes I do go for a walk around the neighborhood. You go girl! Three pound loss is amazing! I'm so excited for you! Congratulations!

Erin, nice to put a face to the name. You look great! Don't worry you'll get past this draggy-ness. You've proven yourself already. Pssst...I've got a secret...I've only tasted smores for the first time last summer! I should have left it that way too...cause I loved them!

Linda, lol..so true! Peek a boo...I see you! I don't know what you're talking about..maybe a lot of negative self-talk, but you look good. You were painting an awful picture of yourself (I was kinda scared! hahaha...kidding!) But seriously, you really look good.

Liza, oh you poor dear. I so had my fill of wacky hormones due to pregnancy. And then after pregnancy dealing with the "baby blues". The only good thing is that they leave after a while. My while felt so long because it seemed I was living in a grey cloud for the first two years. During that time I know what you mean about the mirrors. Sometimes while getting dressed I see my reflection and feel utter disgust and disappointment. I sit on the bed in bra and panties and cry...feeling sorry for myself. The funny thing was...I don't know why or who I was expected pitty from. I couldn't expect pitty from anyone else because it wasn't anyone elses problem that I was so fat....but my own. One day it just hit me...why let this fat make me feel trapped in a corner, rule my moods, spoil my life and limit me in things I would like to do. So I changed it, I ruled over what I was going to do about it. I tell you nothing feels better than feeling like you're back in control of your own life. The day I started my weight loss journey...I was still 269lbs. but I was a lighter person on the inside. My whole attitude changed...I wasn't fat anymore...I was a thin person trapped on the inside and happy because I was doing something about it. I am now the same weight as I was when I went in to give birth. I weigh exactly what I was at 9 months pregnant...that's mind boggling to me. What's even more mind boggling is that I ballooned past that to 269lbs.!! I was never that weight before. I can happily say now I'm going to get rid of my baby weight...I've just terminated all the years of depression weight. My girl if you only start believing that it is doable and claim it you will own it!! I'm not saying it's easy...it's the biggest challenge mentally you'll probably ever have. But it's so worth it when you're on the right track. Welcome back Liza!!

Robbin, glad you got the AC working. But you know with the extra sweating you'd be doing, you would be getting rid of water weight!LOL! Kidding....I wouldn't be able to handle it either. Since the new vehicle (has a sunroof) my daughter insists on having it open..so that means no AC. It's fine while you're driving but it totally sucks when you get stuck at the lights. And hey..as long as your body is up and moving...it's burning calories. It's great to be active with your kids.

Well girls I think I've babbled on long enough. I gotta fix some lunch for myself and daughter. Have a great day!! I'll be checking back later.

TTFN!

~Tina

After a nudge (((RRVMMM))), I'm dropping in to say hello. I've been kind of taking a break from the group threads, gotta lot of things going on in my mind and I just needed a breather. I am doing........okay, I guess. I'm trying to figure out me and life. I hate always being a downer and didn't see me being much support to others so I've basically lurking except a thread or two here and there. I'm considering giving South Beach a try and next week I want to buy some weights and start on that.

Thanks again RRVMMM for the nudge. It feels good to be thought about. Hope everyone has a great long weekend. I am broke until next week so I'm going to spend the weekend to catch up on cleaning.

Thanks, Tina and thanks Lois

Did you notice how I managed to cut off most of the baggy chin problem? :s: I guess I'm getting used to looking at the picture now . . . really not too bad for 63. At least I still have a hair-colour that actually sprouts that way out of my head. (Good hair-colour genes on both sides of the family. We just don't go grey.) Too bad I don't really like the colour. . . and they talk about bleached hair turning brassy . . . my father's side of the family grows it that way. :o In my younger days, I tried to be a dark blond, but it is just too much work to try to cover red.

Tina . . . Your victory is a victory no matter how small. Probably means you'll be having a big victory next week. BTW, I just loved the little 'Freudian Slip' . . . wouldn't it be wonderful to really be able to lose 100 pounds like that. Funny you should mention S'mores. I have never had one. They've never really appealed to me because I'm not a lover of marshmallows. Trust me, I have enough other food vices to make up for them.

Tracey . . . Don't be silly, chickie. You don't pull anybody down. Just wish we could do more to pull you up. Anyway, don't wander off too far, you were missed. So good to see you back.

Lois . . . Great to see you, even for a couple of minutes . . . hope that puter prob is fixed up soon so you can visit longer.

Sorry, don't know why I'm in such a blathering mood. Think I'll shut up now and go whip together a big salad for dinner. See you soon, gang. :carrot:

Tina...WOW!!! What a difference a couple of months make. You are gorgeous, but you were gorgeous before the loss. I love the little black dress.:D Wish I could find a way to post a picture of my drivers license that was taken a year ago and one of me now. Hubby see no difference in me till I showed him my license the other night, then he finally did. My highest was 363 and now I'm 334. I'll have to go through some disks and see if I can find a picture of me from last year and then have hubby take one now.

Michelle...Congrats on 3 lbs gone. Guess we know who the fairy fat mother decided to visit.:wizard: Way to go on getting your workout in as well.:carrot:
Of course you have rain, it's Memorial weekend and it's Oregon.:rain: You can send the cooler weather my way, we are going to be in the mid 90's for the next 3 days.

Erin...You are so pretty. I have the same worry, would love to go on a cruise, but afraid I would be hanging my head most of the trip. We are doing respite care for the whole weekend now. I don't mind, she is a really nice girl.

Linda...You are a beautiful woman. Just remember, we are like fine wine. We get better with age!!

Liza...Honey, go sit in front of a mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are. How proud you are of yourself for the weight you have already lost. How proud you are for getting up each morning and doing the best you can to eat healthy and get some movement in. How proud you are to be Andrew's Mum.
You are worthy of this life change and we are here to help you along the way.
My friend had the same problem with very painful periods. She thought after she had a baby they would get better, but they only got worse. She had a hysterectomy at the age of 24 and never looked back. Go and talk to your doctor, OK:hug:

Robbin...Glad you got the air fixed:D ...Seems it's always spendy when you take a car in for repairs:( Yes the talk worked! Hubby is very lucky to come home and not find the car parts thrown out on the lawn, waiting for him. He has a week to get the room cleaned up before the next child comes in for respite care. Robbin, my hubby has been retired for 16 years, and we still have military gear in our closet. He can't seen to part with his boots and cammie's.

Tracy...Glad you are still around and haven't given up. Good luck with the South Beach plan.

Lois...Congrats on the 1-1/2 pound. Hope you get your new monitor real soon. It's a real drag when you can't come in a couple of times a day for your daily fix of chicks.

Not doing much this weekend. Hubby will be working for the next 7 days. I plan on working on my quilt this weekend. Want to go to town tomorrow and buy some thread for the kids clothes and skin tones. Might go and see X-Men 3, but other than that, it will be a quite weekend. Will check on you all tomorrow. Have a good night.

I had a mini-meltdown with a very low-fat cream cheese, cool whip, and Smuckers Double Fruit blueberry jam concoction I threw together because I was craving cheesecake. It was absolutely delicious and only about 60 calories per serving. Trouble is, I ate all eight servings. My usual "too much of a good thing is still too much" problem. The 480 calories was bad enough but not nearly as bad for the 'weight-control plan' as the 120 grams of carb was for the 'blood-glucose-control plan'. :o Oh well, as we all know, stuff happens. Today is a new day and I intend to stay in control.

And on that note, here are a few little words of wisdom that are very appropriate for me right now and I hope they can be 'thinspirational' for everybody else, too.

. . . Treat everyday like it is an opportunity to succeed. . . If you believe that you can do it; you can. . . Always focus on the journey; not the destination.

Have a great day, chickies, and a great holiday weekend. Hope the weather is good. See you soon. In the meantime, keep moving and shaking and heading in the downward direction. :carrot:

Good morning ladies! I have good news and bad news...I know it typically goes...I'll give the bad news first...but I'm not. The good news is I'm down another two pounds!! Yep, that scale read 219.5 this morning! Okay, Okay, okay....the bad news...I didn't have time to have supper last night, instead I had a low fat carrot muffin. Now I'm worried my body will go into starvation mode and hang on to whatever I give it today. And instead of losing I'll be maintaining and after working so hard this past week I do NOT want to see that happpen. I have the same schedule tonight as lastnight. The grand march is tonight. But I'll be Darned if I do that again...LOL! I'll eat at four if I have to. :)

Tracey, it's good to see you! I'm glad you had a knudge to come by and say hi, but please know you don't have to be knudged. We all here going through the same crap and you're welcome anytime to share whatever you need to. I wish you all the success in the world as you try your new plan. Weights will work wonders for you as far as getting those inches melting. I love working with mine.

Lois, poor Lois....left in the dark! You go girl, another 1 1/2lbs. that's awesome! You're sure getting that body in fat burning mode. Enjoy your great weather, we've been dumped on all week. Suppose to have a hot sunny day tomorrow.

Linda, you're too funny. (cutting the chin) Thanks. Okay, now you have put something delicious in my head. Thankfully I only have one of those ingredients in my house and that's frozen in the freezer! LOL! Love the words of wisdom, I need to post that on my fridge, pantry, and wherever else I have food. Just in case I have a melt down. Take control of your new day that you have been given.

Michelle, thank you. I can't help but see a difference either, but when I look at that picture all I see is my ugly arms. I don't know if I'll ever be able to get rid of the "extra waver" on the bottom.

Cheryl, I know. It seems like it's only been yesterday since I started. I guess that would explain why I still see myself as big as always. Like my mind hasn't caught up with my body. Thanks for the compliment. If you have a digital camera take a picture of your license, blurr out the information and see if you can post it that way. I would love to see how far you've come.

Liza, thanks. That is a really cute comment. Remember it can be done girl. I hate to say this but..I guess I'm proof. :^:

Have a great day ladies!

TTFN!

Ladies...I'll be back later to post personals. I'm off to town for thread and the movies. Going to see "X-Men 3", beside it's a good place to go and cool off for a couple of hours. It is HOT outside. Have a good afternoon.

Tina . . . marvellous on the loss. I don't think you are in danger of going into starvation mode over one meal, girl. Just think of it as a low day on the zig-zag road. Stop looking at the bad things (your arms will catch up) and try to see all the great things that the rest of us see (the missing tummy bulge and the beautiful winning smile, just to name a couple).

Cheryl . . . gorgeous quilt. Have a great day cooling off at the X-Men movie. See you soon.

Keep on doing all the good stuff, kiddies. :carrot:

Hello Girls, Thought I would Pop in and see if I had missed anything and wow I did so here goes with personals and then I will let you all know what has been up with me.

Tracey, you are very welcome for the nudge:kickbutt: , you were missed and I wanted you to know it. Dont worry about being a downer, we all are sometimes and that is why we are here, to pep you up.

Lois, I hate computer problems, I couldnt live with out my computer, cause I couldnt do this with out all of you ladies:hug: Congrats on the 1 1/2 lbs.

Linda, Great pic, you arent scary at all.;) Also I am so totally jealouse You dont have a bit of gray, it is time for me to color my hair again cause all of my "highlights" are showing. I have a ton of gray.

Tina, you look AWESOME:encore: . Love the dress. You are so pretty. I can't wait to reach the 50lb mark.

Michelle, Beautiful picture of you also. It is nice to put a face with the post's. Congrats on the 3lb loss:cp: .

Cheryl, Beautiful quilt, I am so jealous :halfempty of you ladies that can create beautiful quilts. I tried on once and well it wasnt so good. It fell apart.

Ok here is what has happened here. Yesterday after work I went to the shop to pick up my car and it wasnt done:mad: , I sat and waited for 3 hours, the new compressor they put on for the A/C blew up when they turned it on. They ended up unpluging the thing and giving my car back to me with no air:hot: . I have to take it back on Tuesday for them to put another compressor in. Today I had a wonderful day with my family, but, this evening when I checked the mail I had a notice from my car loan people saying I hadnt made the payment yet. Well that was wrong cause I had so I popped on the net to check my bank account and guess what I did. It is so stupid I had to sit and laugh at myself:rofl: . I pay all my bills online and when I went to send the car payment I sent it to my hubby's Student Loan instead, after I had already paid them for this month. So now I have to make another car payment.:dizzy: Good news is that I got on the scales this morn and I was down another pound:goodscale , but I ate a few things today that wernt the best for me but my portion controll was very good. I am hopeing that when I do my official weigh in the morning I am still down. Wish me luck:crossed: .

Well i better get off here and get some sleep we have another big day tomorrow going to the In-Law's. Hope everyone is a looser this weekend.:carrot:

Is it too late for me to jump in here with ya'll? I know it's hard to infiltrate an existing group, but I'd LOVE to lose 100 / 1 yr.!! Wow - that blows my mind....

:welcome2: to the group Shawn we love new faces and always welcome someone to join us on our journey. Everyone here is very supportive and careing.

Well ladies today is my "official" weigh day and the scales were nice:angel: and not nice  at the same time. During the week I had snuck on the scales a couple of times including yesterday. As of yesterday I had a 2 pound loss for the week but as for today my "official" loss is only 1 pound. But ya all know I will take anything cause a small loss is still a loss.

I'm not sure if I will be able to post again before Tuesday so if I cant I wish you all to be big loosers for the next couple of days.:D

Good Morning, chickies . . . Another dull, damp day in Nova Scotia, and right now I'm freezing cold. Forecast says it's going to get up to 23C (about 73F), but that feels kind of hard to believe right now. :(

Robbin . . . Wow, what a disappointment about the car. Hope it is soon ticking along in a cooler frame of mind. Congratulations on the loss, though. Whether it's one or two doesn't matter. It's the direction that counts. :D Thanks for the compliment, BTW. However, I do have some grey hairs, they mostly show up around my temples if my hair is pulled back. I think those 'highlights' are beautiful on dark hair. :) On red hair, they just sort of look 'dusty'.

Shawn . . . Here's a great big welcoming  for you. Glad to have you join us. We do have fun around here and that seems to make the trip down the long, winding road so much more enjoyable. Hope we'll be seeing less of you, more often. ;)

Michelle . . . Good Morning; Good Morning; Good Morning. :D Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Have a great Sunday everybody. Just keep doing the right stuff and the rewards are sure to follow. See you soon. :carrot:

LINDA...Thanks SO much for the triple good morning LOL! When I tried to enter that post last night, the system froze up, so I went back and tried it again, and then again, and now I can see what happens when I do that! It's a rainy chilly day here also with it only being in the 40s. Just a week ago, it was 98 degrees, so what a huge difference! I have my heat on right now.:^:

ROBBIN...CONGRATS on your 1 pound loss!:cp: :hat:  :flow1: :twirly: :cheer: Every pound is one towards your goal!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your episode with your AC and hope you get it fixed VERY soon! Have a fun weekend!

Good morning chickie poohs! I'm happy cause we've got sunshine today! And of course I've maintained my two pounds lost even though I didn't get any exercise in yesterday. I'm glad all that dressing up is over...LOL!

Cheryl, oh my gosh...that quilt is gorgeous! You have got a wonderful talent. Hope you had a good time in town and cooling off at the movies. How did you like it? (the movie that is..)

Linda, thanks for the pep. You know once you try to be so good and you slip up once or just a little you think your whole plan is gone to the pits. I guess we all keep learning from experience. :) Thanks for the compliment as well.

Robbin, thanks! Don't worry you won't be long before you are at the 50lb. milestone aswell. Congrats on your loss! You're doing so good! Wow...that sucks about the AC and the payment mix up. Hopefully it's all and will be straightened out and cooled down soon!

A great big :welcome3: to you Shawn! I guess you have already have figured out that this is a great compilation of ladies. We try, we cry and we triumph. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you. Welcome once again!

Michelle, sometimes the world wide web can be a little tricky! LOL! Thanks for the congrats! and the little boost. It's interesting how we see the worst in ourselves and others don't.

Well I'm off...hubby's day off and I'm taking avantage of him...I'm mean ..IT. hahaha!

Hi ladies! I just wanted to check in. We went to my in-laws for the day (a little over an hour drive), and had such a great day! We took my babies (20 month twins) to the local zoo (small, so not crowded), rode the train around the park, and then played in the park. It was so much fun! I had planned to workout this evening when I got home, but we're all pooped... I guess walking around the zoo & chasing babies was my exercise for the day!

Food-wise, I did fairly well today, considering. I didn't tell my DH that I was getting back on plan -- 1st mistake. He made my coffee this morning with REAL sugar... theres two WW points I didn't have to use! I'm a few points over for the day, but I feel like I did well overall ~ for my first day back on plan!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I am so glad to be here!

Good morning! It's awfully quiet in here today. But I guess it's our turn (us Cdn.s), last weekend we weren't around much either. Hope you are all enjoying the day and family. Behaving yourselves. :)

Shawn, definitely if you've walked around the zoo all day that would be a great calorie burner. I hope you're able to get around to telling your hubby that you're getting back on track. That way he won't be sabotaging you without knowing it! :) Keep up the great effort!

Well... ... the reason I didn't tell him is that I wasn't sure if I was committing to this or not yet... I wanted to still have an "out" if I changed my mind... he's put up with me starting & stopping for YEARS now, so if I wasn't really ready, I didn't want him to nag on me (which he really doesn't anyhow). I decided to count up my points late last night, and I had to ask him what he put in the coffee so I could count it... so he knows now.

He made cinnamon rolls for breakfast (NOT lowfat), so I only had 1 (for 4 points!)... he apologized for making something "bad" that I couldn't really eat... so he's aware now... which means I'm committed again. LOL :carrot: :D ;)

Shawn, I know exactly how you feel about not telling family that you're going to "try again". I couldn't really find it in myself either to say it and watch the "yeah right" expression that you see but not hear. It's embarassing and disheartening when you want something so bad but don't have the power to follow through and when that's in front of people you love you feel as though you've let them down...again. I told everyone about a month before I started..coming January 2nd I'm going to start a new weight loss journey. That gave me plenty of time to mentally prepare but when it came around to the day I still didn't know if I was really going to stick with it, up to or past the 20lb. mark. That's usually how far I get and fail. Lost the drive to thrive. I have this great group to thank for keeping me on track, they've really help me keep my eye on the prize and now that I've come this far I have no doubt that this is something I can do! Glad you come out of the "closet" with your new found faith in yourself. It's nice to have someone in "real life" backing you.

Hi! The Lovely Tina invited me to join this thread and I'm excited to do so :) Thanks Tina!

I'm Tirzah (Tears-ah), I'm 24 and single, no kids yet but I cannot wait to have them! I've been overweight most of my life. When I was in highschool I lost a bunch of weight and enjoyed the "normalities" of being an average size girl. I loved to shop, date, go out, dance, and just have fun without being self-concious about my body. It was a blast and I enjoyed that for a few years. Then when I was 19 I went through a bad break-up followed by an abusive and destructive rebound relationship. It was just a bad situation and it brought lots of emtional pain into my world. Pain that I didnt know how to deal with. So, I drank...a lot. And I began to eat, and eat...and eat :( I pretty much was numbing out any way I could just to get by. I didnt pay attention to what I was doing, I was just surviving. This went on for quite a while I'm sad to say. I put on the weight I had previously lost and added another 80 lbs or so.

Eventually I got out of that situation but the pain stayed and I continued to eat and eat and it just got out of control.

Finally last year I had a wake up call. One day I just went "Whoa! What am I doing to myself?!?". I realized I didnt want to live like that so I resolved to change my life. I stopped drinking, started therapy and started to become active again. I've healed a lot and recovered from most of it. I've been sober for a year, I've lost 50 lbs so far (in the past 7 months) and my heart and soul have healed tremendously :)

I'm really excited to continue my journey of healing and health. I've got 92 lbs left to go and I'm pumped about it! My plan has been and still is eating less and more balanced and exercise. It's a plan I am confident I can use for the rest of my life.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all and supporting you on your journeys :) I feel so thankful to have found this forum....it's amazing.

Thank you!

Yes, Tina, Thanks so much for the invite-I'm Michelle. I just found this forum as well, and the folks I have met so far have all been WONDERFUL!!!!! I actually started watching calories and walking a bit last fall, and had dropped between 30-40lbs, but ended up on steroids for the last three months, and gained almost everything back! So I am back to square one!

I actually just finished cleaning out my cabinets, and throwing out crappy foods! Actually, I didn't have that much...I usually do OK for most of the day, but dinner is where I really struggle-after working all day, the last thing I want to do is cook...it always seems so much easier to order out or stop and get something-usually a pizza! I've stocked up on frozen dinners and plan to try and cook over the weekends so that I have food during the week...we'll see how it goes!

Anyway, that's a bit about me-just looking to feel better and be in better shape! And make some new friends in the process-YAY!!!

Thanks again for the invite Tina-

It certainly has been quiet around here this weekend . . . Not that I can find fault with everybody being out taking advantage of good weather and a holiday weekend . . . Hope Memorial Day was good where you live, chickies.

Here in Nova Scotia, the weather is still trying to decide what it thinks it will be. It has mostly warmed up to the low to mid 70s (23C) but the sun has been playing hide and seek most of the day. :(

A great big :welcome: for Tirzah. Glad to have you with us. Wow, you've been making some pretty impressive changes in your life already. Congratulations on ditching the alcohol and the 50 lbs.

Another great big :welcome: for you, Ryanmi. Glad to have you with us. We already have a Michelle (Hi Michelle ) so I guess we'll have to call you Ryanmi, unless you'd prefer Michelle2. ;)

Anyway, whatever we call you, girls . . . I sincerely hope we'll be seeing less of both of you, more often. :D

You made me :o again, Tina. Hope your DH enjoyed being taken advantage of. Wow your comments to Shawn, really ring true. I'm sure we've all seen that 'Oh Yeah' kind of look. Hurts a lot more than the 'looker' can ever realize.

Good for you, Shawn. All the zoo walking is great exercise and now that you've got your DH on side things will be even better. Sounds like you've taught him some good habits (bringing coffee and making breakfast). :D

Here's some FFF (Fascinating Food Facts) to think about today . . .

. . . North Americans spend three times as much money on soft drinks and six times as much money on alcohol as they spend on milk . . . Cola (because of the caffeine and the sugar) creates a stronger physiological dependency than either smoking or alcohol and is harder to give up . . . The Coca-Cola Company purchases more sugar than any other company in the world and sugar supplies 99% of the calories in a regular coke . . . Soft drinks account for one-quarter of all sugar consumed in North America.

Have a great day moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction, gang. Here's a dose of :dust: to help keep our feet on the long, winding road. See you soon. :carrot:

I'm just popping in for a minute, but will do personals a little later. I don't know what I've done, but all the sudden, my ring finger on my left hand hurts really bad and I can hardly bend the very tip because it's very stiff. My DH thinks it's arthritis, but who knows. I did get a new digital camera today, and still trying to figure it all out. I am NO GOOD with anything technical, so I don't understand yet how to even get a new picture on here for my avatar.:?: Talk to all of you a little later.:grouphug:

WOW! I got busy and didn't check in yesterday and we have three new ladies. That's awesome!! A great big WELCOME to Shawn, Tirzah and Michelle. I so look forward to getting to know you ladies.

Shawn...I'm following WW as well. I consider walking at the zoo and chasing after babies exercise. Good for you getting back on program.

Tirzah...WOW! You have done so much all ready. Congrats on your one year of sobriety and loosing 50 pounds!

Michelle...Look forward to getting to know you better.

Tina..X-Men 3 was pretty good. It wouldn't of matter anyways, I just wanted a place to cool off for a couple of hours. It was so hot here Saturday and yesterday. I broke down and turned on the central air yesterday. It ran all day and the house never got below 80. Today is much nicer.

Robbin...Congrats on the 1 or 2 pound loss. I'd take the 2 pounds, you earned it with all that rowing you did last weekend.:carrot: Hope you get you car fixed tomorrow, bummer you didn't have air for the weekend.:(

Linda...Glad you got some sunny weather for the weekend.

Michelle...Sorry you are having a cold, damp, rainy weekend.:( My son and family went to the coast for the weekend. Haven't heard how it went, but I'm sure my grandkids were cold and complaining.

I have had a good weekend and I have been good with my eating and exercising. Spent most of the day sewing and I just about have the first row of kids sewed on. Tomorrow, I'm going to clean up my sewing room and then get back to working on the quilt since I won't be home on Wednesday through Monday. Have appointments on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is the start of my hubbys days off, so we are going to Fargo. The weekend we are at Devil's Lake for a car show.
Have a great night and I'll check back tomorrow.

My Goodness...talk about feeling welcome! Thanks sooo much to all of you!:thanks: :goodvibes

Today was actually good for me. I had some ice cream tonite tho-left in the freezer and I couldn't throw it out! But...I just had a little and I was light on the calories today so I don't feel too terrible, and when it's gone, there will be no more! It was so rainy and dreary here that I just relaxed and took a nice nap this afternoon-guess I'll be up half the night now, but that's ok, because I brought TONS of work home with me to do over the long weekend, and have yet to start any of it yet!!!

Michelle, what kind of camera did you buy? I have an old Kodak that I was looking at updating, but I may wait-seems everytime I want to buy a new digital camera, a better one comes out the net day! Besides, I am not really a photographer to begin with...although I would like to be, and a new camera may be just the inspiration I need? Hmmm...something to ponder... :dizzy:

Linda, Ryanmi is just fine! You can call me whatever, it makes no difference to me at all...just happy to be a part of the group!

Shawn, thanks so much for the compliments about my kitchen! Yes, I LOVE IT!!!! I actually just moved into my new place in January, and finished the kitchen at the end of February...it is my absolute dream kitchen (for the space, size, mind you...) and I couldn't be happier with it, or with the rest of my new place for that matter! I actually re-decorated the whole place when I bought it-paint, carpet, etc...I do have pics of the whole place if you'd like to see...

Cheryl, Thanks for the welcome-I look forward to getting to know you as well!

Tirzah, yes, you are right my friend, we will have a LOT of fun together! :)

OK...off to the pile of work...:spin:

Hi girls!! Welcome to our group! I know you will find a lot of great advice, support and inspiration here.

Tirzah, I hope you'll be able to leave the hurt and pain in the past where it belongs and begin transforming yourself on the inside out. Congrats on the loss so far, as your signature says...one day at a time. Sometimes to get through some days it can take as little as one moment at a time. Just remember when it gets to those days that we're here for you!

Michelle, (you're actually our 2nd Michelle :)) Great job cleaning out your cabinets! You're truely making a fresh start. You are wise and smart that way...not too long ago I had an incident with Lays Smokey Bacon chips that were in my pantry FOR my daughter. Well lets just say there commercial was right..."betch can't eat just one!" It's best to put all temptations outta sight, outta mind. I wish you all the luck with your dinners. Have you tried the Lean Cuisine pizzas? I have a weakness for pizza but if you're determined, those Lean Cuisines can help the craving.

Linda, LoL @ blushing! Wow, those facts are sure eye opening. Thanks for sharing.

Michellerp, ouch...hope your finger gets better soon. Maybe it crying out for another ring...Pssstt...If that excuse passes by your husband let me know! LOL! Have fun figuring out your new camera.

Cheryl, wow girl you've got some heat! And you've got a busy week planned. Glad to hear you've stayed on project throughout the weekend.

I had a pretty good day. Our power was again for a few hours this afternoon, just as I was about to get on the treadmill. No notification at all! So I decided to go jump on the trampoline and mow the lawn to get some calories burnt. Hope it worked! :)

I gotta get my daughter bathed for school tomorrow. Hope your having a great evening ladies!

CHERYL...Our weather has completely done a double turn! It was sunny all day and about 70F. It's suppose to be nice this whole week. I love weather like today and would take it year round! I know when we have gone to the coast when it's been raining, it's no fun at all!

TINA...I don't think I'll be getting a new ring any time soon; I just have a band right now, but great idea!;) My finger is still sore, and it's a little harder typing.:(

Been such a busy few weeks - I do read the posts but don't have time to sit and write tons of personals, then it seems selfish to just post about me so I end up not posting at all!!

Bad news - I didn't end up meeting my pre-holiday goal of 167 - the first mini goal I haven't met so far :( Still at 168 I did most of it.

I go away tonight until Sunday. I will be drinking, I will be dancing, I won't be calorie counting and I won't be taking my scales although I will try not to be TOO silly. Hopefully I won't end up putting on any more than maybe 4 pounds.

Welcome to Shawn, Tirzah and Michelle!!

Congrats to all the fantastic losers we have on here. - May ahs been a slow month for me - only lost 5.5 lbs compared to the 13, 9, 8.4 and 8.6 I have lost from Jan to April. Still, it's still an average of 1.375 per week and it's better off than on!

Well, I have tons to do before we go so TTFN and I'll be back on Sunday!!

WOW!!! Go away for a few days and miss a lot! Has taken me almost an hour to catch up on the reading so may not get much on personals but here goes!

Liza Hang in there girl!!! I love the "Thinspiration"! It is so hard to see the other side when you are caught in the depression you are fighting, but it is there, I promise!!!!!

Robbin I would absolutely die with a broken AC, I do home health PT and with temps averaging between 80-90 right now, I would offend most patients to say the least. Congrats on the loss for the week!

Michelle I know what you mean about your mom dragging you down. You are doing the right thing, sometimes you have to back off and do what is best for yourself! Love the pic it is so nice to put faces with names, pretty! Congrats on the 3# loss, that is fantastic!! Is your finger doing bette?

Tina You go girl!!! Love the black dress the loss you have made is amazing! Definitely qualify as thinspiration! I know what you mean about the arms, i think they look fine but that is one of my issues as well!

Tracey Glad to see you pop in and hope you do so again! I know what you mean about figuring out life, me, everything! I hope south beach is working for you and we see you again soon!

Lois Congrats on the 1.5 pound loss!!! Keep up the good work!

Linda Don't be so hard on yourself girl!! You look good! Hope you are doing well at sticking to plan, i too fight the too much of a good thing problems!

Cheryl Your quilt is beautiful, can't wait to see a close up when you get it done! Movies to escape the heat sounds good! X -Men probably wouldn't have been my choice though. We are probably going to try to take the kids to "Over The Hedge" this week.

Robsia 1# off a mini-goal can be so frustrating! But you have the right attitude, focus on the ones you did lose not the 1 you didn't! Have a great trip!

Tirzah, Ryanmi, Shawn:welcome3: :welcome: So glad you are joining us!!! This is a great group of supportive women!
Tirzah wow, beating addicition and losing 50# that is absolutely amazing!
Shawn twin 20 month olds has got to be keeping you very busy! The fessing up that you are trying to do something can be so hard, the fear of failure is hard to deal with, but with all the support you can get here you will be successful!
Ryanmi Good job on cleaning out the house girl! Sometimes it is hard to throw out things that we really like but it's well worth it!

Well ladies I am now running late and really gotta go so will try to drop in later and give an update on me. I resisted the smores and campfire biscuits this weekend so feeling pretty strong! Ya'll have a fantastic day and will check in later! Oh yeah, almost forgot! Thanks for all the compliments on the picutre!! Don't feel very pretty right now so it is nice to hear!

Robsia, it's nice to meet you :) I hope you have a wonderful time. And hey, 168 is soooo close to 167, that's a victory!!!

Elem, thank you for the welcome :) I"m looking forward to getting to know you better. Seems like our goal weight is similar and I'm really looking forward to cheering you on!!!!!

Ladies, I wish you a great day. I'm off to work. I'll check in later today. I just want to say again that I'm thankful for you! I can tell already how much this is going to support me as I go for my goals :) YAY! Have a great day.

Good morning buddies! Taking a few minutes before I go down and trek away on my treadmill. I love these quiet moments when my daughter is in preschool makes me just want to sit down and say "ahhhhh", but you know that can't happen when you're trying to lose weight. The exercise must go on as they say...oh...not exercise, show...yeah right....I knew that! Well in my new world it's exercise! :)

Tirzah, thanks! I had to think of something. Seeing I was pretty lacksy-daisy this weekend. I was too taken up in my step-sons grad that I allowed no time for it. My bad! :)

Michelle, I was looking at cameras at Costco, particularly camcorders. I was not only amazed at how small they've gotten but the digital cameras as well! I was holding one that I was sure could fit into my credit card holder! Okay...well...that was bit of an exaggeration but it was TINY! Drats about the ring! LOL! Maybe you need to get some finger weights and work that thing out! hahaha!

Robsia, girl...you better keep coming around. Personals or not. I for one love reading all the progress you're making. It is inspirational! I'm getting excited that I'm getting a little closer to ONE-derland and I remember the day that you got to announce that you were. I'm living for the day my dear! Have fun on your holiday, but in the same time don't do anything you will regret later! ;)

Erin, woo HOOoo! :carrot: I'm proud of you girl. Resisting campfire yummies. You certainly have more strength than you give yourself credit for. Awesome! Thanks for the compliment BTW. I got the dress at Penningtons, do you have that in the US?

Well I'm off to the races! Have a great day ladies. Make it a good one, stay strong and be powerful. I'll check back later!

Good Morning, chickies . . . From the sounds of things some of you are having some very hot weather. If I could get the jet stream to run backwards, I'd send you some of our cool. It's only about 17C (63F) at noon today, but it is beautifully sunny. I just love it like this. Amazing how stuff picks up again now that the weekend has moved into history. Hope everybody had a fun time.

Michelle . . . Glad to hear the finger is at least a little better. Hopefully it will soon be good as new. Don't sweat the new camera . . . you may remember how upset I was when I first got mine. Now it feels like an old friend. Just keep practicing and it will fall into place. ;)

Cheryl . . . good luck with the cleaning up and the sewing down.

Ryanmi . . . Wow, great work practicing portion control on ice cream. It's one of my major problems . . . portion control in general and ice cream in particular. :o

Tina . . . great going girl, One of the many reasons you are doing so well. Faced with your power outage, I would probably have decided on a nap. :o

Robsia . . . you've been missed. Missing that mini-goal by one little pound is nothing to be ashamed of. Look how well you've done overall. Have a great vacation and don't forget we love to hear from you even if you don't have time to do personals. :)

Erin . . . Congratulations on avoiding the s'mores and the biscuits. I know the biscuits would have done me in. :o

Tirzah . . . Just keep on doing the good stuff, kiddo.

Nothing too exciting for me . . . I did laundry and got some crocheting and some quiltmaking stuff done. Have been doing fine with the eating but not so fine with the exercising . . . heh, you all know that it's not one of my strong points. :^:

Here are a few more FFF to think about . . . these are aimed at making sure we remember to read those labels . . .

. . . Multigrain doesn't always mean Wholegrain. Some brands of multigrain bread have more calories and less fibre per slice that 2 chocolate chip cookies. . . Sometimes Veggie/Fruit-based chips are no better than regular Potato chips. One brand of banana chips packs as much fat into 1/3 of a cup as there is in a Big Mac. . . A fruit "leather" touted as being 'made with real fruit' has about the same calories and nutrients as 24 jelly beans. . . The average granola bar has fewer nutrients and more sugar and trans-fat than a strawberry pop-tart.

Have a great day gang. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the downward direction. See you soon. :carrot:

 Hi Ladies,

I'm still here and still have not gotten my replacement monitor :( Had to call them again and they are insuring me I'll get the "box" to send this one back in in 2 - 3 days, then it will be another 2 - 3 days before I get the replacement... sigh...... all I can do is wait.

On a brighter note... I'm down 3 lbs. from last weeks weigh in. Yay! ! ! :carrot: It has been hot as heck here! ...in the 90's, that goodness for AC :D

I see a couple of new faces? :welcome3: ...I'm sure you love it here... I do, just having puter problems right now. :( When things are back to normal with this I'll be able to do personals and getting to know you ladies. I'm missing you all! :(

Congrats for any and all losses and NSV and :dust: for everyone who needs it :)

Hope everyone is well and I'll let you all catch me up when I get the new monitor.

Hi Chickies!!! Man I love this group. It's so supportive and warm.

Tina, I hope you had a good time sweating away on the treadmill :)

Linda, so you're an artist are you? My mom quilts, crochets, sews, knits and does crafts. I LOVE watching her work!! She's making a quilt for me now and I'm so excited. I think it's amazing to see people create something out of a material and their hands. VERY cool.

Lois, Hi!! Nice to meet you :) Congrats on your 3 lbs! That's wonderful!!! I hope your puter problems are taken care of soon.

ERIN...Thank you for your kind words on my weight loss. I think I might have gained some of them back over this weekend.

TINA...I know exactly what you mean about the small cameras! A couple of them were just too tiny for me; I was afraid I would lose it!:o

LINDA...I know practice with the camera will make perfect. How do you keep the glare off your glasses in your picture? That has also been a problem I haven't figured out yet.:?:

Hey ladies, hope everyone had a great weekend. It has taken me a quite a while to catch up on all the posts, so if I miss you in the personals or miss a special victory please for give me. So here goes....................

Shawn, wow twins how sweet. Boys or girls? And I think that chasing the babies and all that walking was quite enough work out for one day. Glad you are back on "plan"

:welcome: :welcome3: Tirsah and Ryanmi. I am so happy to have new faces joining our group. We have been a little slow here lately looks like its going to pick up.

Linda I love the food facts you have been posting. I am gonna try to get it in gear and try to find some interesting Weight Loss and Exercise Triva to post.

Michelle hope the finger is feeling better. Congrats on the new camera. I love my digital, if it wernt for it I don't think I would have any pics of my kids, I am so bad about getting film developed.

Cheryl I can't wait to see the quilt you are working on, everytime you mention sewing kids on I can't help but think "Hey there if you need more kids I got 4 spare ones" LOL

Tina sounds like you turned yesterday's exercise into a bit of fun and work at the same time. But isn't it nice to be able to think of exercise as fun. I love to jump on our trampoline.

Robsia nice to see you again. You only missed your mini goal by 1 pound thats not too bad. Hope you had a fun weekend and didnt gain anything at all.

Erin Cool for you on resisting temptations over the weekend. It always makes me feel strong when I say no to the foods I shouldnt eat. I wouldn't have a problem saying no to smores though I am not a big fan.

Yeah :cheer: Lois 3 pounds for the week that is great. Too bad about your monitor. Dont you hate it when someting goes wrong then you have to wait for the company to fix the problem.

On the home front, I had a weekend filled with WAY to many holiday weekend cook-out foods. And said "I will have just a little" to many times. But there was lots of physical activity also(water baloon fights), and I guess that the combination was just right cause when I stepped on the scales this morning it was down 1 more pound:D . Im not going to move my ticker though, I have decided the one time I did move it during the week is going to be the only time. I will wait for my Sunday Weight In.

Better run for now.

Michelle
05-30-2006, 01:57 PM
ROBBIN...You should move your ticker down the one pound and then you can add one more happy dance for a 35 pound total!!! You're doing so good girlie!

Boy are we getting busy around here! I am going to have to make a point to view more frequently to be able to keep up! Quick update on me, after my resisting over the weekend, a repeat surgery on the scale (krazy glued it this time!) and 40 mg of lasix(water pill) yesterday, the scale read 264.1 this morning. No jumping up and down just yet, we'll see what tomorrow brings. I know i peed a heck of a lot yesterday and want to see how much of the water weight comes back today. I am still trying to drink a lot of water and with the ungodly heat (i think 96 yesterday and about that today) and horrible humidity i am sweating off any residual water! If I am still down tomorrow I will change the ticker then. Did some bike riding while camping and enjoyed it more than i thought i would. May start doing that some with the kids. My daughter is now out of school and making all kinds of plans for what mommy and daddy shoud do while she is home! We'll see! Mommy has a few plans of her own! Anyway, gotta run time to get ready to grocery shop and i have been up since 3:00 am and am ready to crash now so will find some healthy carbs and trudge on!

Tirzah thanks for the encouragement! the support is wonderful!

Tina Thanks for the congrats! I still can't believe i didn't do it either! No we don't have any Pennington's here in the south, but there are several stores that are in the northern states that we don't have here. I will see if i can find one while i am in pa this summer! Keep going on the exercise you are doing great!

Linda Yeah biscuits are right up my alley, they never seemed to get the done right though so that made it a little easier. I have thought about taking up crocheting or knitting to keep my hands busy but havent put any effort into learing yet. I do have a dulcimer and keep saying i am going to play it instead of eating but lately i just go to bed! Oh yeah and i am working on reversing the jet stream as we speak, think if i go outside and blow real hard that will work??

Lois Here's an ARGHHHHHH!! for you just from me, i know how aggravating problems like that can be! Congrats on the loss girlie that is great!

Michellerp Keep on with the camera and when all else fails break out the destruction manual. I know i have fought with mine forever on getting the color right and glare and all those things. Seems like i get it figurd out and then it all goes screwy again! Of course dropping it on the ceramic floor while i was at the beach probably didn't help!

Robbin Water balloon fights sound like exercise to me!! And a lot of fun, I haven't done anything like that in forever! Seems like it would be a great stress reliever as well! Did you get the AC fixed yet??

Has anyone heard from Lillian lately?? I have been missing her, will try to send a PM later but gotta run now, groceries to buy before i really crash for the day! Ya'll have a good one! Erin

ERIN...I have looked through the instruction manual til I'm blue in the face, and I'm just not good at all with technical things! I have seen Liliann's posts in a couple of other places on the board, but it was a few days ago. Great job with the weight loss and I hope it still reads the same numbers when you recheck tomorrow! Have fun grocery shopping, my favorite thing NOT! Also, try to get in a nap!

Linda, looks like we're sharing the same weather today. Lots of sun and just enough breeze to make it comfortable. It's 16C here now. I gotta mow the front lawn this afternoon. Yayy! Wow, those food facts are amazing.

Lois, nice to see you! Gosh darn on the computer company! "Weigh" to go on the 3lbs. that's amazing! You're doing so incrediably well.

Tirzah, thanks. I did get a good sweat going and the heart pumping good. Hope you having a good day!

Michelle, that was my concern too. Even the camcorder I was wondering how I would handle it in Hong Kong. Things are so small and delicate that you would think you would never hit the buttons right.

Robbin, yeah...what would be better is that if ALL exercise went that fast and that fun! LOL! Great job getting that scale down even after your weekend of family treats. I agree with Michelle, why not move the ticker?! ;)

Erin, another round of cheers for you!! That scale is beginnng to love you! I understand about being a little conservative and waiting to see if it's water. But it's a victory nonetheless.

I gotta get out and mow the front lawn but I'm dragging my feet about it. hehehe! Keep it the great work ladies! See you later!

TINA...Yes, I am having second thoughts. I told my DH that my 35mm camera, which is a Canon, took excellent pictures and it's very easy to handle. Don't have too much fun now mowing the lawn LOL! Do you realize, just 20 more pounds, and you will be under the 200 pound mark?!!!;)

Wow . . . can't complain about it being too quiet today . . . wonderful activities going on.

Tirzah . . . Thanks, but I guess I don't think of myself as all that artistic . . . just grew up in an era when 'ladies' did 'busy work'. It definitely helps to keep the hands busy.

Lois . . . Another wowee loss, girl. I really hope your computer is fixed soon. We miss you.

Michelle . . . I really don't know how come I didn't get a glare on my glasses. It's just luck; nothing I did. I think I have an anti-glare coating on my lenses that's supposed to keep me from seeing a glare from lights and stuff; maybe it works going the other way too. Good luck.

Robbin . . . Great job, girl. Obviously your physical activity won out over your little food indulgences. Way to go.

Erin . . . Not sure it'll work but maybe we can set a time and then you pull while I push or something. :dizzy: I love 'busy work'. It is hard to eat and work with your hands at the same time. ;)

Tina . . . get out there an mow, girl. Another great exercise.

Hey gang . . . get moving and shaking tonight. See you soon. Keep up the good stuff. :carrot:

Ughhh...what a day! Only about 90 degrees in Chicago today-and about 80 degrees in my office! Hot in the summer, cold in the winter! You'd think someone would fix that...:?: Of course, **** would have to freeze over first, and all of the planets would have to align...LOL!

Had the "pleasure" (term used loosely) of having my father in town for dinner this evening. He is a real piece of work, and after about 2 hours I am ready for him to GO HOME! Thank GOD he lives out of state and I don't have to deal with him often. I take care of his mother (my grandmother-she's 95) because he can't be bothered-I have been her primary caregiver/support for almost 9 years. She's in a nursing home now and in terrible shape...think while he was in town he'd stop in and at least see her-regardless of whether or not she knows he's there. Nope! Selfish :censored: can't be bothered...

Anyway-he's gone, I only had one glass of wine, and an excellent dinner of chicken breast, brown rice, and a few strawberries and pineapple chunks! The best part...LEFTOVERS for me the next couple of days! ;)

Robisa, Lois, and Robbin-thanks so much for the warm welcome! I really do appreciate it and am truly enjoying getting to know everyone! For that matter, thanks to everyone for being so welcoming and accepting!

Thanks Linda, for all the fabulous food facts (is that a triple word score?)...makes you think about things!

Michelle-is that a new picture? Taken with your new camera?? Check you out...pretty slick! And you said you couldn't figure it out...

Cheryl, some women in my office quilt! They belong to some "square of the month" club, where they do a different square each month, and then at the end of the year they have a quilt! It's not for me...I just crochet-and not too well, mind you!

Tina, all I can say is I HATE YARD WORK...so God Bless you for gettin' out there and doing it! Thank God I live in a condo...give me an indoor chore anyday over yard work...must be trauma from my childhood! ;)

Tirzah-Hope your day was fabulous girl...:cloud9:

Forgive me if I forgot anyone...there's always tomorrow...I'm wiped!

Good Night Gals!

Wow... I just downed 1/2 a 12 oz tub of FF Cool Whip while reading this... I gotta not eat in front of my computer!! That was 6 points!!! Luckily, I've done great all day, so it didn't put me over my daily value...

We had a company lunch today (italian food), and I managed to only eat 1/2 of my lasagna and brought the rest home for DH. Then for dinner, I just had a huge salad... I knew I couldn't have much of a dinner since lunch wasn't so healthy.

I went back to the YMCA today... it's frustrating because it's so late when I get there... was like 8pm tonight.. I tell ya, after picking up the twins, having dinner, getting them bathed & in bed, who wants to work out?? But I figure that's the best time for me to do it is after they go to bed... so off I went! I did 15 mins on the elliptical machine, then some weights and some crunches. I put some new tunes on my Ipod, which REALLY helped ~ it's like I was able to tune out the voices in my head... you know, the ones that think everyone is watching me, wondering why I'm there... Yay for new tunes!

I also grocery shopped after work ~ loaded up on fruits and veggies...

Robbin, my twins are girls... they are such little angels! I see you have 4 kiddos? You've got your hands full, as well!!! We are buying tickets to the Wiggles show tomorrow ~ they're coming thru Dallas in August... LOL.

Michelle ~ sorry to hear about your dad being a jerk. Seems like you handled it well, though ~ a nice glass of wine & meal to unwind with... stress always brings out our urge to "eat the pain away"... but you handled it with grace! Good job!

Wow! There are alot of new faces... hopefully I can start remembering who's who soon!

Hi Ladies...Just a quick check-in before I got to bed, have to be up with the birds in the morning. Wasn't a good day for me, I tore my quilt while working on it. Spent most of the afternoon fixing it, but now I need to embroider a flower or some thing to cover up the slight tear in the kids face and near her shoulder. Good thing there was nothing in the house I wanted to eat, cause I would of had a good time grazing.

Robbin...I've talked twice to Liliann, she is hanging in there.

Well gals, I'll be back tomorrow and do personals, but heading to bed before I fall asleep here. Have a good one!

:carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: Okay girlies listening to CeCe Winans Hallelujiah Praise and Jamming just a little, can you feel the vibe!!! Yes i am in a frightfully good mood today!! Scale stayed almost the same at 264.3:dance: :goodscale and as if that was not enough I made it 15 min on the elliptical this morning (1.8 miles)!!!:tread: Mind you I started out at 4 min and thought I would die doing that!!! I know it is not polite to brag but I am just so excited I can't stand myself!! So forgive the impoliteness, PLEASE!:o

I hope all of you are having a good day whether that means losses or just happiness over being alive! Yeah I see some of you sticking your tongues out at the computer and i promise that has been and will be me at some point! :p But boy it feels good to be happy!

Michelle Yes I hate shopping especially with both kids with me who think that going in a store means they get something. i have never been the type to buy something for the to keep them quiet but i did it yesterday and unfortunatley (i think) it worked. Did you cut your hair or just have it pulled back in the new pic? Glad to hear you are getting a grip on the new camera, as frustrated as i get with mine, it is nice to see the pics right away and to be able to easily email to family!

Tina You are the yard Queen!! I have got to get into my front flower bed and just can't bring myself to tackle the job, have to dig up lava rock and weeds and fill in with something else. By the way, i think i have caught the exercise bug! Scariness, did you feel the earth move up there?

Ryanmi Nothing worse than having to parent a parent!! I hate that your dad seems so unconcerned, parents should know better shouldn't they! Good job with the chicken and fruit, sounds pretty good!

Shawn Yes mindless eating can get you in a lot of trouble, i have down many a half gallon of ice cream in front of the TV when i was just going to have a couple of spoonfuls!! I have a generic MP3 player and love it! It is the best to "tune out" the world for a while, plus beats radio and obnoxious DJ's. I really admire you for going to the gym after the kids are in bed, that is usually when i completely crash!

OOOH CeCe is singing again :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: sorry i digress!

Cheryl :yikes: I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to do something like that! I am sure you will fix it and no one will ever be the wiser! :cheer: excellent job though on not eating your frustration away! Don't know that i could have done that!

Well guys i have rambled enough for one entry! Again I hope all of you have a fantastic day! Erin

Morning ladies. Just dropping in to say hello.

It is so hot and humid here. I fear I am melting. I hope to get an AC for my living room this weekend so that I can start exercising again. It is way to hot to even attempt it without the AC, I'd probably pass out.

Good morning Chickies. Hope all is going well for everyone.

Erin, hope you got the groceries bought before you crashed, it would be terrible to crash in the middle of walking through the store. LOL Glad you are so happy today it.

Michelle, It is a good thing I didn’t move the ticker. I was back up this morning to 1 pound over my Sunday weight:tantrum: . I am glad you are figuring out your new camera, they can be a lot of fun.

Tina, did you get the lawn done? Have you added any new flowerbeds lately?

Ryanmi, sorry to hear that dad is a bit of a turkey’s backside. But be proud of yourself for doing what is right for grandma. Sounds like you handled the stress well and ate a good dinner. :bubbles: Yay for you.

Shawn, I have only one girl and wouldn’t trade her for the world but let me warn you now, my girl is 14 and the teen years are not easy :yikes: for sure. Sometimes I really wish she was 2 again, back when she was so sweet and I could dress her in pink and ruffles.

Cheryl, I am so sorry to hear you had a mishap with the quilt. I am sure though that you have it covered up and it looks just fine.

Hello there Tracey, good to see you. I don’t think I would try exercising with out AC either.

Yipeee :encore: Linda, I know that weight loss is very difficult for you but you are doing great. You have a great amount of will power to stick with this when it is so slow and hard. I am proud of you.

Not much to report here. I didn’t bring my lunch with me to work today so I am trying to figure out where I will go that has something healthy.

Well guys, I'm a little calmer this afternoon, still really good but a little calmer.

Tracey I am feeling your pain, I would die without my central ac! I don't do sweaty well! Hope you get that screen soon!

Linda Are you still working on the Jet stream because i have not seen any changes here yet? Thanks for letting me brag a little, it really got my day off to a good start! OH and a huge congrats on the loss for you! :cb:  :cheer: Steady wins the race! Keep it up!

Robbin So, where did you end up for lunch? I like the quote about the exceeding the feed limit! Suits me pretty well, i tend to be a bit of a lead foot too. I actually made it home finished some laundry, put all the laundry away and then crashed, big time!!!!

Hope ya'll have a great evening. I may try to check in later otherwise see you in the morning!

ERIN...CONGRATS on your weight loss and exercising!!!:cp: :hat:  :flow1: :twirly: :wizard: :goodscale :woops: :cheer: You're doing SO GOOD girlie!!!;)

ROBBIN...Sorry that you couldn't move your ticker, but hopefully next week, you'll be able to move it lots!:( ;) I like your quotes!:D

LINDA...Thank you for your kind compliment! You're SO nice!;)

TRACEY...Hope it cools down for you soon!

TINA...Now you just slow down there a little girlie LOL! You're always so busy and on the go go go!!!;)

Well today it was much cooler here and now it's raining again. Oh well, what can ya do? I woke up with one of my horrible migraines today and slept so much of the day away, but now I'm actually feeling so much better.:smug:

Hi Tracey! We haven't "met" yet, but I just wanted to blow some cool air your way! A hot home is the worst! Hope you get it fixed soon!

Robbin ~ Love the quotes! And your picture looks SO familiar! Did you used to live in Dallas/Ft Worth?

Michelle ~ Glad to hear you're feeling better from your migraine... I would have LOVED to have slept the day away! :jealous... except for the migraine part:

Well, I am beat. Working out after the girls go to bed is just BLAH. I need to pay bills tonight since today was payday, but don't feel like it. Before I went to work out, I got TOTALLY stressed out... just thinking about everything I needed to get done... workout, bills, straighten up after girls went to bed, figure my points for the day, post on here, etc... I almost decided not to go to the gym. But I knew I couldn't go tomorrow, because I have to go grocery shopping... yes, AGAIN. My fav. store is having an 8-hour sale tomorrow. Lots of good sales! (crab legs, chicken, diapers, pineapple, etc). So tomorrow night I might not go workout. I keep trying to cram too much in, and it makes me a basketcase!

At the gym, I did 30 mins on treadmill... it said I burned about 225 cals. ~ not great, but better than not going at all!

My eating was great for the day... I was under points, so I'm sitting here eating frozen peaches with cool whip. YUM.

Have a great night ladies!

Howdy Girls!

Believe it or not, I just got home from work a little bit ago...summer school started today so things were hectic at work! I just ate a delicious dinner of shredded wheat cereal! Too late to eat much else, and it was perfect!

Michelle, I woke up with a horrid headache this morning as well...I was able to head it off early enough, but I sympathize. Migraines are terrible! :(

Linda, thanks for the downer about caffeine ;) ...God I LOVE Diet Coke! Good news though, is that I have only had 4 in the last two days! I can reduce it but it can't go completely!! My staff wouldn't be able to stand me...or me them for that matter! :D

Great Quotes Robbin- I actually have the "eating to live or living to eat" taped to my computer monitor...along with "Discontent is the first step in the progress of a man, or nation." Both are pretty good motivators-for me anyway...

Tracey-nice to meet you. And I totally understand about the heat...I'm in Chicago, and it has been in the 90's all week! I'm cranking the AC!!!

Erin-great news on the exercise!! I'd be winded after the 4 minutes though... ;)

Shawn-Mmmm...I love cool whip-unfortunately, it doesn't love me, which ultimately is a good thing! I have a drawer in my fridge that is stocked with sugar-free jello snacks...puddings, jello, and also applesauce cups. That way, if I need something, at least it's not terrible! Unless I eat a bunch of them...:o

Tina- Let us know when your house will be featured on HGTV...I imagine it is beautiful! :flow1: :flow1:

And now...off to the exciting worl of litter box changing!

Michelle...Hope you are feeling better. Your picture looks great. Aren't you glad you kept the camera. We cooled off big time this afternoon, had a sever thunderstorm rumble through. Boy did it get green and ugly. Had 50 MPH winds, hail and pouring down rain. Cooled it off just enough to sleep real good tonight.:D

Tina...WOW girl, you are always on the GO! Hey, if you need something to do, I've got yard work that's needs to be done.LOL

Shawn...You go girl!! That's awesome you make time for yourself to workout even when you are dead tired. You will be rewared for your efforts.:carrot: Are your girls identical or fraternal? I'm married to a twin and they are identical mirror twins. My hubby is left handed and his brother is right.

Erin...So that's way the earth shook this morning, it was you jumping up and down.:carrot: :carrot: Send some of your energy my way, I've been a slug lately.

Michelle 2...You should be so proud of yourself for caring for your grandmother. Sorry your Dad is such a JERK!!! Congrats on handling the stress and not grazing.:moo:

Tracy...Sorry it's so hot there, but please don't send it this way!! Hope you get your AC and start moving and shaken.:carrot: :carrot:

Linda...So nice of the fat fairy to pay you a visit.:wizard: Please send her my way, I could use a little of her magic dust.

Robbin...Cute quotes. I hear you on 14 year olds. Our foster daughter is 14 going on 20. WE had a phone to chat on, they have the web. Couldn't get a license till we were 16 and here is is 14. I'm not even going there, so she is very upset over that. They grow up way too fast now a days.

Weigh-in day for me, and I was up .5 lbs but I'm OK with it. I'll be down next week. Got my Light and Tasty cookbooks out tonight and made up my menu's for the next two weeks. Got my grocery list made out for tomorrow and Friday when we go to Fargo to Sam's Club and Super Wally. Hope I can find some fresh red snapper, scallops and shrimp. Sea fest time.:hun:
Thanks ladies for all your kind words about my quilt. I just made more work for myself is all, but it will still look nice when I get it done. Had lunch at McD's with my gal pals today. Tried their new Asian Grilled Chicken Salad. It was soooooo good! Shawn, it's only 6points. If you have the crispy chicken, it's 8.
Leaving you with some info on water.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

Cheryl ~ my girls are fraternal ~ they don't look a THING alike... you wouldn't even know they were sisters, if you didn't know better! LOL... can I show them off? Their website is www.xanga.com/jordanandcarson ... I've heard about mirror image twins, Cheryl ~ that is so cool! I was afraid if mine were identical we'd get them mixed up... but there's no confusing them, that's for sure!

I may have to check out that McD's salad sometime ~ do those points include the dressing too?

And thanks for the water tips ~ I never do drink enough water, so that's a good reminder for me.

Hey girls...boy is it ever hot in here! It was 28C, and for a canadian that's hot! LOL! I was checking out Hong Kong weather yesterday and it was 30C but felt like 39C...I suppose to the heat getting trapped in the concrete and expelling heat like an oven! I also was checking out the place where we're going to stay. My brother-in-law has bought an apartment for revenue and it's empty so we're going to occupy it. If any of you are interested in taking a peek, parkisland.com.hk This place is apparently the best place to be, they don't let any exhaust type vehicles onto the little island...blah blah blah....all I heard is beach!! LOL!

Anyways, I didn't get nearly as much done as I wanted. But there's always tomorrow. I intended to get a bunch done but my mom phoned as she was catching a ride into town and needed me to pick her up to bring her around to shop for my grandmother who is leaving for Ontario tomorrow. She's 75 and very insecure, she isn't comfortable dealing with money and people she doesn't know. So that took away a lot of my time, but the good news I got through the pile of 27 shirts I needed to iron. For those of you who don't know already....I HATE IRONING..and ALWAYS leave it till the last possible minute.

Now to the good stuff..catching up!

Michelle, Oh that lawn gave me a bigger workout than the backyard. It was so long and thick from all the rain we had. Yes, I had realized I only had 20lbs. to go to be in ONe-derland...I'm really excited! Thanks for noticing!! ;) Glad your migraine subsided...they really can throw you for a loop and spoil your whole day.

Linda, woo hoo! Congrats on the loss! It's a big deal even if it's a small victory. For you especially. Celebrate it my dear!

Ryanmi, it's gotta be tough when you would love for someone to be as passionate about something as you are. And even more frustrating when it involves your father and his own mother. Talk about being stuck in the middle. But you handled very well. Yayyy for you!! Goes to show how much of a "bigger" person you are! And I mean that in a good way! ;) LOL! You've just named my favorite TV station...it's on the majority of the time that I watch TV. I am a long way from getting on there but maybe I'll showcase here! hahaha!

Shawn, you are showing great stamina and determination. I know if I had to wait till that late after a long day dealing with kids till getting to the gym...I'd probably pass. I'm so proud of you!! You are a rock!

Cheryl, OHhhhhh my! I'm so sorry to hear about the tear. That had to be heartbreaking. But after seeing your work I'm positive that it won't be noticable. Good for you, for not heading straight for comfort food. That takes such determination!

Erin, I would wish that every morning you would wake up feeling as positive as you were this morning!! It was great, I was totally feeding off of you! Keep up the good work and you deserve to have bragging rights! Congratulations! And nope, sorry to say I didn't feel the earth move as you got bite by the exercising bug. LOL!

Tracey, yikes! I think all I would want to do is sit in a pool. Maybe try looking into water aerobics?? I would love that! Good luck getting the AC.

Robbin, I'm not allowed to add anymore plantings this year because of our trip. It's a total bummer...I envy everyone I see going off with carts of plants! LOL! But it's true...I won't be home to care for it and I need someone to care for the ones I do have.

Well, I've got both my workouts in today. I figure I've done good with my meals so here's hoping for a positive tomorrow! Have a great night girls!

TTFN!

Well girls my excitement may have been overdone, the scale was up this morning so the rebound from the water pill may have been delayed a little. Also I had a pasta dish last night pretty high in fat and has bacon and parm cheese so lots of salt so that will increase water weight too. Oh well, i am not too worried about it as long as it doesn't keep going in that direction. I have already exercised this morning and I am still drinking more water and plan to put the numbers out of my mind for a while. Have debated skipping weighing a day or two but i am almost obsessive about it so will probably do it anyway. :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: I am still excited and proud, i have accomplished so much in the 6 weeks i have been serious about this(290-265) and i have only been exercising for about two of those weeks! Trust me i am not down, may just not be making the earth move this morning!

Tina I am sweating jsut reading your posts!! 27 shirts!! my iron only visits on rare occassions our church is very casual and my husband doesn't have to dress up for work, saves a lot on the iron. thanks for the congrats!

Michelle thanks for all the happies i am still enjoying my success and the support really helps! My mom suffered from horrible migraines, i feel for you. I have had a few but seem to be able to ward them off with caffiene and a lot of it ( excedrine migraine and heavy caffiene drinks) Not good for my heart condition, but i'd rather not have the headache! At least it was rainy so you didn't miss much.

Shawn You go girl!!!! One of the reasons i get up at 4 in the morning 90% of the time is so that i can exercise before i do anything else, if i don't i don't get it done. It can be so overwhelming to do everything and when you start listing it all it seems like the list runs off the paper. take one task at a time and remember this (which i have a hard time doing) THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH TAKING TIME FOR YOURSELF!!!!! You know the old -you can't be anything for anyone else if you are not taking care of yourself! So make it work however you have to!

Ryanmi 10:00 to get home from work can really wear you out!! Good job on the light supper!! What kind of work do you do? Okay i hate cleaning cat pans, one reason we don't have a cat anymore! You know i found a sugar free coolwhip here that tastes pretty close to the regular, maybe that way loving it won't get you in so much trouble!

Cheryl Hey, so glad you were only up a half a pound, if you weren't on a digital scale you may not have even noticed it! Keep going you will go down, just stay true to what you are doing!! YOU WILL SUCCEED!!!! I admire you for making menus and planning your meals, I never seem to follow through when i do that and end up getting lots of groceries that end up in the garbage can! Good way to stick with your plan though! Loved the cool water facts! I never connected some of the facts there with water but now that you brought it to my attention i see the connection!

Well ladies time to shower, pack a lunch and head off to torture folks! ya'll have a fantastic day and keep doing what you are doing!!!! Here's a little more dancing for ya'll to keep the good vibes going!!!!! :carrot:  :cb: :carrot: :cb:  Love ya'll Erin

Erin, I work in Higher Ed. I'm the Bursar at Lewis University-(What is a Bursar?? LOL, I get that all of the time)...I am in charge of all Student Billing, Collections, and all "other" monies that come into the University. We have about 5200 students-it's a mid-sized private school. Here's the link...http://www.lewisu.edu

Truth be told, I love what I do, even on the worst days-I think I've heard it all when it comes to reasons why the bill isn't paid! ;) :dunno:

I hate cleaning cat pans as well, but the alternative is much worse! Plus, one of the two cats is quite vocal, and quite picky, and she lets me know when she isn't happy with the "conditions" !! :queen:

Have a great day girls!!!

Good morning ladies. I am getting here a little late today, I had to get some work done when I got in to work first thing this morning and just got it all finished.

Well I am not happy with my scales – yesterday when I got on they were up 1 pound from my Sunday weigh in and this morning when I got on they acted all weird on me. The first time I got on it was up another pound, which would have made a 2-pound gain in 2 days. I got back on them and they read the same as Sunday. I think they might need new batteries. I am gonna stop on the way home and get some and if they don’t straighten up after that they may find themselves drowning in the bath-tub. I will commit scaleicide.

Erin – I went to Carl’s Jr. for lunch yesterday and had their charbroiled bar-b-q chicken sandwich (only 4 fat grams). It was pretty good:hungry: . I am happy to hear you didn’t crash in the middle of your shopping. As for the scale being up a little don’t worry you are doing good it is probably just fluid retention. Keep chuggin the water it will go back down.

Michelle – I know you guys have got to get tired of the rain:rain: when you get so much but I am so jealous, we are so far behind on rain that the down pour we got earlier this morning didn’t even make the dust settle. I hope you are feeling better today than yesterday.

Shawn – Nope never lived in Texas at all, but ya know I get that a lot. Maybe I just have one of those faces that resembles others. You have a lot of will power to be able to make yourself workout after such a long day. I am hoping to join Curves:workout: in the next couple of weeks. I gotta wait for baseball season to end and I have been called for Jury Duty on the 12th of this month so maybe after that.

Ryanmi – My hubby eats cereal for dinner anytime he gets home late. I just can’t seem to do it though. I am not a big cereal fan:barf: . And if I were to eat it I would definitely be like my kids and want the sugar filled stuff that isn’t any good for you.

Cheryl – I remember when I was 15 we went to see relatives in South Dakota and my cousin who was 14 had his drivers license and I didn’t. Wow did I think that wasn’t fair. Now that my daughter is 14 there is no way on earth I would let her get a license at this age. I just can’t imagine what people are thinking, 14 is way to immature and uncoordinated to be driving.

Tina – I checked out your Park Island – WOW:cloud9: looks wonderful. Right on the beach, no traffic. I thought I was jealous of you before now it is worse. LOL only problem with your vacation is you are going to melt. I can just see it now; you will be going naked all the time trying to stay cool:rofl: . Too bad about not being able to plant anymore this year, I know you love your gardening.

Hello there Trizah, don’t work too hard, I know I’m not.

To any and all I might have missed, Hope you all have a great day.

Michelle

SHAWN...I looked at that site with your twin girls and they are adorable! I bet you have so much fun with them!;)

RYANMI...I hope your headache is gone today. Mine is and I'm feeling so much better today!:D

CHERYL...I ended up taking my camera back because there was a problem with it. I'm still deciding of I'm going to get another one or just use the 35mm one that I still have.:dizzy:

ROBBIN...The rain does get tiring sometimes, but we pretty much just get used to it. Like today, it's dark and rainy again, and also pretty muggy for us. I agree with you on that scale, you may need to throw the thing out real fast!:o

ERIN...I can't take Excederin because it makes my heart race; a horrible feeling! I wouldn't weigh yourself again for a couple of days and hopefully it will adjust back to the lower number by then.;)

TINA...Hope your weather is a little cooler so you can get your outdoor chores done. I can't wait until I reach Onderland either!;)

Hey girls! How's the day treating you all?! I'm having a pretty good day so far. I haven't had a chance to walk yet, I want to do that now. Seems it totally screws up my day when I don't stay on schedule. Hubby's fault! He stayed home this morning instead of going to the office and was a little baby! LOL! Said I should sit and snuggle with him (Alyssa was in preschool), the quiet time together was nice. Still no results on the scale, neither up or down. The exact same # since Saturday.

Erin, MMMmmm that pasta dish sounds yummy. I love pasta, especially the cheesey ones! DuhHHhh...I didn't get this way eating carrot sticks! hahaha! I made spaghetti lastnight...whole wheat spaghetti pasta, ground turkey breast and low-fat sauce. It was pretty good. I didn't allow myself the sprinkle of parmasean though. I know what you mean about being obsessive about weighing. I seem to think it helps keep me in line. But you're right, it's fluctuation due the sodium lastnight. Keep hanging in there girl!

Shawn, your girls are adorable! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I can't even imagine having twins. How will you get through the terrible two's?? LOL!

Tirzah, thanks...I hope you're having a great day also!

Robbin, take my scale too and give me something that moves! Preferably down. LOL! I've had my scale well over a year and I haven't had to change the batteries yet. Didn't you just get yours? I had to really laugh out loud at thought of me naked on the beach in "conservative" Hong Kong!!! I can only imagine the terror!

Michelle, I've been living under the threat of rain today. It's cloudy and I get a couple of drips but nothing yet. But it's real humid. Hope you're having a great day! and I hope you give the digital a second chance...I know you would have so much fun with it! ;)

Have a great day girls...I'll check in later I'm sure!

Hi gang . . . wow am I ever behind on things . . . had to take the vehicle in for its checkup and a couple of little things this morning and was there almost four (4) hours . . . believe me there are better ways to spend your time.

Was having trouble with the fan (it would only seem to work on high) and with summer coming on you definitely need to be able to blow some air around. Turns out some mini-mice (moles) had been building a nest in the area in the engine compartment where the fan feed is located and they had stuffed bits of insulation and yarn and leaves and general debris in there and that shorted out the fan motor. I almost died laughing when the mechanic told me this story, but it turns out it's not that uncommon. You know what's really annoying . . . my cats spend time in the garage, so you'd think no self-respecting mouse would want to be there. Knowing my cats, they probably helped with the nest building; or at least threw them a housewarming party. :dizzy:

Anyway, by the time I got home, I was ravenous and so I ate a sandwich and a bowl of fruit and was still hungry so rather than eat more I went and had a nap . . . so now I'm even further behind on the day. :o

Erin . . . You definitely sound a little calmer today and that's a good thing. You are very right . . . you have been doing wonderfully well. Keep up the good work.

Tina . . . Ironing, ugh  Boy it sounds like you are really getting excited about your trip. Too bad about the heat, though.

Michelle . . . glad to hear the headache has gone. Sorry to hear about the camera. Hope you decide to get another.

Shawn . . . I really enjoyed looking at the pictures of the girls. Do you mean you eat the peaches frozen or just that they were frozen rather than fresh?

Ryanmi . . . At least your taste runs to diet coke, not diet Dr.Pepper. That difference blew me away. BTW I didn't mean it as a downer, just an interesting little thing.

Cheryl . . . I loved your water info. I've always been a big water drinker and now I think I'll up it even more. Can you drink too much water? Yes, apparently you can. Consuming 15 to 20, 8 oz. glasses of water in a one hour period can be dangerous to your health. Somehow I think most people would stop long before they got to that point.

Robbin . . . Scaleicide . . . love it. Both of my digital scales have been the kind that never need a battery change and they still have their wonky moments. Good luck getting yours to cooperate.

Lillian . . . Glad to hear you are doing OK. We were getting concerned.

Here's a little FFF for today.

. . According to researchers at Johns Hopkins, music affects how fast we eat. Lively music = five mouthfuls per minute; No music = four mouthfuls per minute; Slow music = three mouthfuls per minute. No surprise that what we think of as 'dinner music' is usually fairly calm and restful.

Have a great evening, chickies . . . Keep moving and shaking and heading in the downward direction. See you soon. :carrot:

HI Ladies! I love being a part of this group!!! Thank you guys for all the compliments on my babies ~ they are at such a fun stage right now. Learning to talk and such... tonight, we were doing head shoulders knees & toes ~ but I have to go so slow for them to process it all... so cute! Then we did "this little light of mine" and they loved "hide it under a bushel... NO" ~ they'd both laugh & say NO! They were cracking me up!

Linda - yes, I eat the peaches while they are still frozen; I was sitting here eating some more ~ only 1 WW point for 1/3 of the bag!! But I'm out of cool whip, since I finished off the entire bowl within two days... so when I went to the grocery tonight, I refrained from getting any more... LOL... fruit by itself will be just fine, thank you... at least for a few days! 4 hours at the car place?!? Wow! Hope you had a good book, at least!

Robbin ~ it is SO HARD when you do all the right things and the scale still does not move. But try to remember that your body is just waiting & will give you a bigger than normal decrease when it finally moves.... hang in there & keep doing the right things!!

Tina ~ how nice! snuggle time with DH... since having the twins, we don't have near as much of that as I'd like... part of it is my fault, though. The girls are touching me all day long, and when they go to bed, I just want to be left alone!! LOL

Liliann ~ nice to meet you. Glad you got your meds worked out ~ I hope you feel better soon! What is WATP?

Right now (8pm my time), I've had 29 points today (goal = 26-31), so have done good. I'm taking a break from working out tonight... I'll try to get some exercise in tomorrow though. We will probably go swim at my mom's, and I can walk down there instead of drive...

OK ladies, you all have a great night!

Good evening girls! Just thought I'd pop in. I just finished doing my toning workout with Bob (Biggest Loser dvd) and then did 1/2hr. on the treadmill, burning 275 calories. Hopefully that'll do me some good! LOL!

Liliann, nice to see you again. We were wondering where you had gotten off to. I'm glad you were taken care of just in time by your doctor. I hope the meds kick in real fast! Welcome back aboard the wagon, lets hope to see some results soon...that'll make you feel a world of good! ;)

Linda, yikes! I couldn't stand waiting around that long at a car shop. I have an oil change next week and I think I'm going to walk to some stores close by. Glad they figured that one out for you. You wanna hear a sad, sick story?? A couple of years ago during the winter my dad had to put his truck in for something. I think the rad. Anyways, the shop attendee came out and asked dad if he had a cat. Dad says yes...he says a grey and white one...dad says yes...and he says not anymore. Before coming into town dad had my/his cat inside petting her, telling her she was good and all that good stuff. Then knowing my mom, she can't have animals inside, which was fine she was an outdoors cat anyhow. He put her out and she went directly under his truck to snuggle up to the warm engine. Well when he went to start it to come to town...well I guess you can put together the ending. It was so sad. They (mom/dad) couldn't even bring themselves to tell me for weeks after. **In loving memory of Shy**

Shawn, I remember that age. Wasn't that long ago. I think that's the cutest stage. My nephew is halarious! Enjoy every minute because it won't be long, before you know it they are four! Have fun swimming tomorrow...I would love to join you! ;)

Have a great night ladies. See you in the A.M.!

Hi ladies...Just a quick check-in since I have been gone all day and I was up with the birdies. Hubby has the next 4 days off, so we are going to be gone most of it. Had a great day and stayed within my points. Made a really yummy Chicken stir fry that I will post tomorrow. Got my hair cut and permed this morning, so I feel human again. LOL Took my dog to the vet and he has an infection in his mouth (bad teeth). So he is on antibotic and will have his teeth cleaned/pulled on Monday. Trying to stay cool, we were 88 today and only going to be 70 for a low tonight. Suppose to be warmer toomorrow. I'll be back tomorrow to do personals. Have a good night girls and I'll take to you later.

Just a short note. Hope everyine had a fabulous day! I actually just got home from my niece's kindergarten graduation! 80+ kids! They each shared a little thing about what they liked best about school, and they sang songs and said prayers (Catholic school). The best part though, was the song at the end...it started out as a thank-you type song, to everyone for coming, then goes into "First Grade, First Grade" sung to the tune of Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York"...talk about hilarious! She wanted to go out for ice cream afterwards, and I had a small scoop of plain vanilla! :p

Hope everyone has had a great day-Thank God tomorrow is Friday! I know it was only a four-day week, but for some reason it seems longer... ;)

Linda, BTW, I hope you realize I was kidding about the caffeine post being a downer...and you're right, Diet Dr. Pepper is waaay worse. Plus, it tastes really gross! :barf:

Liliann-nice to meet you. Hopefully we'll get to know each other better!

To everyone else, sounds like our days were productive and successful-:carrot: Let's keep rockin'!! :cp:  to you all...

G'Night-

Shawn.. You did great on points for thursday..Bravo! I had done WW, but kept using points on junk foods. Keep up the good work!! :)

Tina.. Bravo for doing the Biggest loser dvd!! Keep it going! :)

Cheryl..Bravo on staying on points too! Keep at it!! :)

Good Morning ladies... I am starting fresh today and will re-program my mind on eating less and moving. I whipped out my food scale and clean my measure cups and spoons. All this time, been guessing on portions..yikes..and been overeating not only on sweets..but food it self..oh well.

Have a great day ladies.. :)

Good morning ladies!!!! I am still hanging on to my good mood and can now brag that i got 2 miles on the elliptical in 15 min 15sec! Dripping sweat and breathing hard is actually starting to feel kind of good, how sick is that!! Tina is rubbing off on me.:D

Liliann I am so excited to see you back! :carrot:  When i have taken antidepressants they have always taken a while to kick in but all of a sudden i realize, hey i think i feel better, or i realize a situation that would have put me in a tailspin before doesn't bother me so much. Regardless how long the meds take to really do you some good, sounds like you have really got your head on your shoulders and are have a sensible plan! We are here for you!

Ryanmi I can imagine the stories you have heard on your job, embarassed to say but may have used a few myself! Anyway the kindergarten graduation sounds long but entertaining! Excellent job on just the plain vanilla, ice cream is one of my absolute favorites! Have you tried the sugar free Bryers Double churned? It's really pretty good.

Robbin So was there scaleicide commited today? That sounds like something that you should not even get probation for! Did you check the feet on the scale, that seems to be the problem with mine whenever I start getting a bunch of fruity numbers. Anyway, hope you have been able to resolve it and know that by staying true to what you are doing, regardless of the scale, you are getting healthier everyday! I know what you mean about needing rain, we are dry here too, but are expecting storms today.

Michelle I know i need to stay off the scales but i did weigh this morning. I was down a little from yesterday but still not back to the 264.1. i was going to put my ticker back up but i am going to give it till monday and then will adjust as needed. I think i will make mon my official weight reporting day. Sounds weird but i am usually more productive when it is raining! I need to get you and Linda together to get some rain and cool pushed on that jet stream to me!

Tina Thanks for the encouragement. I am trying to be more conscious of the sodium intake but with avoiding all sugar i have found i am replacing with some high sodium foods. I will get it balanced eventually. I am going to have to check out the place you are going to hong kong since everyone is raving on it. I like snuggle time too! I know that scale will move for you soon, keep up the hard work and the positive attitude. IT WILL CHANGE!:D

Linda We had the mice in the AC (fortunately not cat like Tina's dad, so sorry to hear that one!) of my husband's truck one time. the only benefit was that the guy didn't charge us much to clean it out and it worked like brand new after he did! Excellent job on the napping instead of eating. If you were able to sleep you probably needed the rest! WHere do you find all these food facts, i still haven't found my folder of info but am still looking! Hope you have a calmer day today!

Shawn haven't gotten out there to see your babies yet but will do so soon! I am sure they are beautiful girls! My grandmother had an inground pool when i was a kid and some of my best summer memories are walking to her house to swim! she lived on a back country road and the walk was shaded the majority of the time. I am part fish and love the water so i will be thinking of you today! Have a fabulous swim!

Cheryl Busy girl you are lately, well i hope you have a good few days out of town and lots of fun! Sorry to hear about your dog, does he go with you this weekend? We are suffering from heat as well, 90's all week and humid!!! went out this morning at 5:30 and it is already so sticky it takes your breath away when you walk out the door! Unfortunatley cool for me means stay inside and move as little as possible!

Well off to another day. I may not get to check in till later tomorrow, i am also obssesive about unplugging everything when there is a threat of rain/storms so may not get on the computer the rest of the day!

Just a quick question, has anyone ever heard anything about eating walnuts helping with weight loss. I have started eating them as a snack at times, gives me a little crunch and helps with the full sensation, probably because of the fat they have. But seems scale moves easier when i am eating them than when i am not????? just curious!

Have a fantastic day and i will see ya'll soon!
