Thanks for the new thread meowee!
My big issue is that I spring cleaned our bedroom on Sunday and DF was complaining madly this morning that he couldn't find anything! :) One room down, rest of house to go!
Got mom moved on Saturday. She had so many people there that it wasn't too big of a deal. We moved about 4 loads (truck and trailer) but they were all from the second floor. So, yeah, I am a little bit sore today, but in a good way.
Not to mention what I did to our poor bedroom yesterday! hehehe.
I'm going to call and set up a couple of doctor appointments today. See what the heck is going on with me.
*hugs*

Is she taking any new medications, Rosey? Or eating quite a bit more fibre and/or gassy veggies (broccoli, cabbage, legumes, etc.)? Garlic (which I dearly love) will also bother me sometimes.
Sometimes just a strange comination of foods can do it. I remember once (quite a few years ago now) having chicken noodle soup followed by a couple of big brownies. Within the hour I thought I was going to explode and my stomach was so sore, I almost wished it would. :o

Found you with no problems.
Going out in a few minutes and plant some flowers. Got a few today and will get some more on payday. Always get differnet ones every year. What ever catches my eye.
Will go to the foot dr in the morning. He's a new one for me.
Have a great evening.

Rosey . . . that combination of high fat meat and garlic bread; then a high fat breakfast; then spicy stuff . . . could be a candidate for problems. Especially after a fairly bland and very controlled WW diet for a week. :(
Judy . . . glad you found us. I promise I'll leave us here until September. Have fun in the garden. Lucky girl. I'm allergic to insect venom so I don't dare puddle in the great outdoors too much. Consequently, I really don't know a flower from a weed . . . and as long as it's pretty and in the garden (I do recognize dandelions :dizzy: ) I don't care which it is.
Have a great evening, everybody. :carrot:

Hi, all. Mild Spring weather here. (Sorry, Meowee - I'd trade if I could.) Welcome back, Pat. Sorry about your depression. I wrestle with it too. I still have that nasty cold I caught last week and have been medicating with food and not doing any exercise. I'm afraid to get on the scale tomorrow, but I must face the music. Rosey - I used to be an EBay addict. Have bought some nice things but a lot of stupid ones too. Don't go on there anymore.

I had to take Mom out. Tired when I got home.
ROSEY the bad burping could be from REFULXE DISEASE
I have had this for years and I had that sympton ; if it gets worse and keeps bothering you I would make a appoiment with a gastoragoist.

Well, here we go again . . . it's dull and overcast this morning and that's the way I feel, too. :(
Strange, because I did get to move my ticker .8 to the right this morning and that usually sets me up for a good day. But this morning all I see to be able to see is the length of the road ahead rather than the individual victories along the way. Just one of those days, I guess. Oh well, I'm sure it won't last long. Overall, I'm usually a pretty 'up' person.
Thanks for understanding everybody . . . and thanks for just being here. :grouphug: It helps to know you've got buddies out there that really know what you are going through.

Hi all!
Back in the saddle! We are heading out to Boise again tomorrow afternoon to go eyeball some property. I was up at 2 am yesterday to do a potato chip reset, so my sleeping schedule is all out of whack (Took a nap yesterday when I got home.)
Had a girls afternoon out with one of my bridesmaids. Got her fitted for the dress, and we even found shoes. Her daughter is my flowergirl and she is just full of it! :) One down, two to go. I have one that I'm still not sure is going to be a part of my wedding or not. She hasn't returned my calls and has been beating around the bush.
I guess we'll have to see. Anyway, I'm out of here. Gotta finish up my week early so I can go play this weekend.
Take care!

Good afternoon ladies!
Its been a beautiful spring day here.
Our dear granddaughter had a checkup at dr this morning. She still weighs 18.8 lbs at 15 months and is 30 inches tall. Talks, runs and all that good stuff.
She's allergy to milk and soy,so her food is limited and she doesn't gain, she was 8lbs8ozsat birth.
The doctor says not to worry but this grandma does.
Any suggestions?

Morning, kiddies . . . I'm still a little down . . . but hopefully things will pick up soon. I've been eating everything in sight, of course, and that is reflected by my BS which was 7.1 (128) this morning. Luckily, I don't have any really bad junky stuff in the house, but I can sure manage to overdo it with the good stuff. :dizzy:
Goodness, gracious, Judy, I can certainly understand your concern. Poor child. What can she eat? If the doctor says don't worry, you have to try not to.
Thanks, Rosey. I know you are right and usually I can do just that. Just having one of those little funky periods. :?: Have a great time with the housework. Poor you. Try to think of it as good exercise.
Glad you had a good time with the kid, Jeanne. And glad you get to move your ticker, too. Have another fun day.
So glad you are back to yourself, Josian. Like Rosey mentioned, I'm curious too. What is a 'potato-chip-reset'???? :dizzy:
Well everybody, please have a great day. Keep on moving and shaking in the proper direction and I'll keep on trying to :kickbutt: myself back into a better frame of mind. See you soon. :carrot:

Y'all are funny. :)
This month is when the potato chips get redone in Walmarts. They added some new shelving and are moving things around, so it's a big project... Hence, I'm "resetting the chips!" I only have to do two stores in this area, so that's not too bad. Still a pain though.
Not quite back up to speed yet. I refuse to look at the scale because I know it keeps adding more and more back on. I have an appointment with my endo and gyno on the 15th to talk about it, because I now have 6 months to fit into my wedding dress and I keep getting further and further from my goal instead of closer to it!
I'm still staying away from sugar, bad fats. Eating whole grains and good fats. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can figure something out soon.
Well, gotta get cracking, with the long drive to Boise looming before me tonight.
Hugs to you all!

 Judy . . . congrats on the nice loss. Hey, look at the bright side, your grandaughter is definitely learning to eat properly and hopefully she'll never learn some of the worst junk-food habits. :D

Hi, all. Surprise, Surprise! I was down 2 lbs. at weigh-in last night. Don't know how I did that since I haven't been very vigilant the last week or so and even ate a few desserts. Still have lingering congestion and may not be able to go to the gym on Saturday as planned. Glad you're feeling better Meowee. Hope the sun comes up soon. Unfortunately I was up a little early with a BS reading of 3.8 (68) at 3:30 am and I'm a little tired even though I did go back to sleep for a couple of hours after I had a little early brekkie. Hi, all. I don't post on weekends because I don't have a computer at home. It was warm, in the 70s here today. Almost too hot for me. I haven't been good with eating and afraid to face the scale. Intended to get back on the wagon today but didn't. It's going to be a bad week. I have a farewell lunch on Wednesday at a restaurant that serve 50s style restaurant food -- everything's fried or covered with sauce.
Meowee - don't work too hard. Rosey - I hope you get some sunshine and flowers soon. Josian - Happy birthday. I know what you mean about moving into another decade. I turned 60 a few months ago and it was almost as traumatic as turning 30. But now I'm used to it and I don't feel that old. In my head I'm still 32 (and all I want to do is boogaloo). (Sorry that was an old Ringo Starr tune.)

Sorry, gang . . . I missed you all yesterday. I was just sooooo busy. Please forgive me. Today has been another doozy of a day but in a whole different way.
First of all, decided to get weighed a day early . . . what a mistake . . . the mean old scale- told me I've gained four pounds again. Now I know I was a little overly indulgent with the salt last night :o , but I didn't think it was four pounds worth. Anyway, I refuse to move my ticker to the left. This will go away again shortly; but it's awfully frustrating just the same. :?:
I spent most of today in another town about 50 miles away. First a periodontist appointment (never fun), followed by lunch (bad choice, Fish and Chips) but I only ate half (my system just cannot handle the grease anymore since I've been feeding it better) and then shopping with a friend (a lot more fun).
Josian . . . Sorry I missed your birthday. Thirty didn't bother me too much . . . but forty really freaked me. Fifty was OK again and sixty just sort of happened without my even noticing it. :dizzy: Good luck with those doctors appointments.
Glen . . . Cute one, boyo. You never know how much you miss something until you can't have it. Couldn't find a new carafe to fit my old Melitta machine so finally bought a new Sunbeam coffee maker today. Just finished it's first cup and I don't think it extracts quite as well as the old one so I'll have to give it a little more coffee for the same amount of water. But I enjoyed it just the same.
Rosetta . . . Pick yourself up and get heading in the right direction, again girl. Notice how good I am about following my own advice. :o Just do as I say not as I do. :o
Judy . . . Sorry to hear about the sore toe. Did you bump it? Any signs of ingrown nail problems? Sometimes I get toe and/or foot pains for apparently no reason at all. Very much a burning sensation that is worse in bed then at any other time. I just chalk it up to a bit of diabetic neuropathy. If it continues, you'd better mention it to your doctor.
Rosey . . . Snow . . . oh my. That really makes me feel better about our weather being only in the mid to high 50's. :dizzy: Definitely a good time to get some housework done. That'll warm you up before you know it. :D
Jeanne . . . Oh, wow, I feel your pain. I remember having an abcessed tooth once and I thought I was going to die. I know this will probably sound strange, :dizzy: but I always think any kind of pain that's right there in your head with you is much harder to deal with than a pain somehere else in the body. Hope the infection goes away soon so you can get to the dentist for treatment. Don't you worry about the gossips. the only thing that matters is that you are both happy.
Well, gang . . .tomorrow will be another busy one since I'm now behind on the work-project stuff, but hopefully I'll get a chance to pop in here. You all just keep moving and shaking. :carrot:

Its a cloudy spring day here. Rain due for the next 3 or 4 days,
I think it is diabetic neuropathy, seems to happen at nite. Will keep track of it and mention it when I go back to the dr. in August. If it gets too bad will make an appointment sooner.
Everyone have a great day.

Well short morning have to try to work today,,,am hoping it is only a 8 hour shift,,,but the way my luck has been going it will be a 10 at least,,,

Hi all!
Back to the drawing board. Meowee, I'm refusing to step on the metal monster myself these days. The meeting went really well last night. Lasted until almost 9:30, but it was the first of it's kind this year so I won't complain much.
Gotta run. I see my endo on Monday and hopefully they can help get me back on the right track.

Hi there sugar-babies. Its raining but since I've been stuck inside working anyway, I guess it doesn't matter too much.
Rosey . . . it's marvellous that you feel marvellous. and it's marvellous that you actually got some cleaning done and you still feel so great. ;)
Josian . . . hang in there. Everything will work out eventually. Some times are just more trying than others.
Jeanne . . . glad to hear the pain is a little better. Hope you make out all right at work.
Judy . . . Just keep an eye on things. A little neuopathy isn't too serious, but you do have to be careful with those feet. They can get into some unexpected trouble sometimes. ;)
As mentioned, another busy day for me. The good news is that this was my official weigh-in day and 3 of the 4.4 lbs of www (weird-water-weight) have gone away again. Hopefully I'll be back to the downward direction again by this time next week. I WILL NOT get on the scale again until then. Scale-hopping always screws me up.
Have a great evening, everybody. Keep moving and shaking and doing the right stuff. See you soon. :carrot:

Hi gang . . . yesterday was a bruiser of a busy day. :( I've been having a bit of a funny day, today . . . haven't really done much of anything and yet it has been exhausting; don't know where the time has gone. :dizzy: Weather is absolutely beautiful . . . warm (mid-60's) and sunny . . . just the kind of day I wish could last all year.
Let us know how you like Curves, Josian  . . . wish they'd run a free trial around here.
Have fun painting the kitchen, Rosey. Think of it as exercise. Your waffle-treat sounds great. My problem, I'm sure, would be stopping at just one. :o
Wow . . . Pink . . . you went lots of places; it's no wonder you were pooped. Hope your weather is good and you feel good, too.

Hi, all. Well, the weigh-in on Wednesday night was bad. Up 3 lbs. Haven't been able to get back on track the last few days. Have been eating pooring and am afraid to get on the scale. Will talk to myself this weekend and try to get back on track by Monday. Have a session with my personal trainer tomorrow. I haven't been to the gym for two weeks so I'm back to square one. Rosey and Meowee -- glad you aare both getting some sun. Our weather is in the 70s, which is too warm for me. Hope it doesn't get any hotter. Rosey - have fun painting that kitchen. Wish I could fix up mine. Ladies (and Glen), have a great weekend.

I'm here . . . I'm here . . . it's another beautiful, sunny day in Atlantic Canada, but the temperature is creeping up above 70 so you can all stop sending the hot stuff my way. I like it just the way it is, gang.
Rosey . . . Congratulations on another 3 pounds sent to ugly-pound-heaven, chickie. Hi, all. Didn't have a chance to check the forum until after work. I was bad over the weekend. Part of it was "last meal syndrome" - you know, eat, drink and be merry because Monday starts the diet. Usually good for a few lbs. Wish I'd weighed this morning. That would have sobered me up. I had good intentions today and made it through lunch time without going off track. But then at the end of the day I felt like having popcorn, so I bought a 3-pack of 110 calories each and have eaten 2 and am thinking about the third, even though I'm full. I know calorie-wise that's okay, but I really don't want to eat between meals because most of the time, it's not hunger, it's boredom and/or depression. And now I'm thinking of dinner. (And not the meal supplement.) On the plus side, I made it to the gym for a workout with my trainer. That went really well. I'm going back tomorrow night and Thursday night. Hope to get into a routine. Maybe that will motivate me.
Meowee - thanks for the encouragement. I'm with you on the weather. Yesterday it went up to 80 degrees or more. I don't feel comfortable in that heat and it's hard to exercise. Fortunately, today the wind whipped up and it's cooler. Rosey - congratulations on another 3 lbs gone! You're doing wonderfully. And that kitchen -- you deserve a dinner out for all that work.

Hi . . . another sunny morning . . . but they are predicting some rain starting this afternoon and we actually need it. . . parts of the province are having some serious forest-fire problems already. Just hope it doesn't continue for two weeks once it starts. :dizzy:
Rosey . . . congratulations on getting the kitchen done, girl. Great feeling of accomplishment and a great reason not to cook. :D
Rosetta . . . good going on the workout. Unfortunately I know that 'last meal syndrome' only too well. We all probably have the problem a few times during the journey. Just put it behind you and move forward with the good stuff.
I am sitting here typing away and being attacked by a fruit-fly :?: Wonder where he came from, I haven't seen any in the kitchen and besides it's a little to early in the season for them. :dizzy: Crazy.
Anyway, gang. Have a great day moving and shaking in the great downward direction. See you later. :carrot:

Morning hugs!
Colposcopy went well. It's a procedure where they take a vinegar solution and stain the cervix/vaginal area to check for abnormal cells. If they are found, they do a laser treatment and do biopsies. My OBGYN couldn't find anything, so he took the biopsies anyway and I'm awaiting the results. I'm a little crampy but not too bad.
On top of that yesterday- I was helping DF outside last night, and my foot lost a fight with a piece of plywood. I am now missing my big toenail on my right foot. Luckily my wedding shoes are closed-toed, because it takes 18 months to grow back! I'll have a normal toe again by my 1st anniversary!

Hi all!
Another day has arrived. I am enjoying my berry bliss (frozen berries, sweetner, water blended) and planning out my meals for the day so I don't stray.
I managed to do a light workout at Curves yesterday-I did 20 minutes, 2 rounds, in my socks. :) I guess that is what I'm going to have to do for awhile until I can get a regular shoe back on. Right now I'm wearing my velcro sandals with socks (fashion faux pas, I know). My work doesn't like it, but they will have to deal with it.
I will call the Dr's office today and find out my biopsy results. xxfingersxx

Hi gang. I'm back. Managed to eat lunch at a pizza buffet place without totally blowing things. Made some fairly wise choices and didn't eat until I was stuffed. Will now have a salad-based dinner and be happy that the day did not turn into a total disaster.
Think I'll just try a point and click with the new camera tomorrow and then get down to the real challenge of trying to figure out how to post a picture to the internet. Be prepared . . . I will probably have lots of questions for you. :dizzy:
Josian . . . Wow, I'm surprised you are even moving around on that toe. I had a toenail removed on purpose (ingrown) about four years ago and it was horrible. Maybe a little worse than what you did because it had to be removed right back to the growth point so it wouldn't come back, but the basic pain has to be about the same. Anyway, I'm very impressed with your pain tolerance (and your dedication to both work and your exercise regimen). ;) My :crossed: for you to have a great biopsy result, too.
Judy . . . Glad to hear you had a good report from the eye doctor. And that you had a weight-loss. Now just get back on top of those BS readings and everything will be in great shape. Good Luck ;)
Rosey . . What a wonderful surprise. Although we all know how much you will miss having to do it yourself. :p Have a great day of guilt-free playing.
Rosetta . . . Yep, it's amazing they print those instruction in half a dozen languages and yet not a one of them seems to be English. Just keep plugging away at it, girl. The pounds will eventually cooperate.
Holly . . . I don't know how you manage to keep on track at all when you spend so much time travelling. Try writing notes to yourself in your calendar about the meds. They are so important. Keep in touch, we're all here for you whenever you get a chance to pop in.
Anyway, gang . . . have a good evening and keep things moving and shaking in the right direction. See you all soon. :carrot:

Hi all.
Got the results back from the biopsies. Vaginal wall was normal, but the cervical was not. I have moderate/severe cervical dysplasia (step before it turns to cancer). On June 8th I will have a L.E.E.P. done in outpatient surgery to remove the bad cells.
Sheesh.
Anyway, I'm still trying to digest this.

Hi all!
Glen, sorry about the TMI... I forget sometimes that there is a guy on this thread! :)
Up at the buttcrack of dawn again for the second time this week: Gotta take g'ma to the airport. I need to have her there around 8-ish, which means leave here by 5:30.
I dropped my medicine box on my toe last night and opened it up again-started bleeding like mad: at least we know my circulation is good!
On top of that, I was out in the front yard with DF and Skye and she was romping with the neighbor's dogs... then she just disappeared. Luckily, my neighbor found her four streets away. I forget sometimes that it is the nature of the Husky to run, no matter how much she loves her family. No off-leash romps for her for awhile! She scared the daylights out of me!
Well, off to the shower and foot fixin' so I can shuttle granny.

Oh, Josian . . . at least they caught it now and are going to do something right away. Good luck . . . and keep that gorgeous dog on a leash so you can cuddle her as needed.
Nothing too exciting around here. I'm trying to avoid both the new camera and the new exercise tape today in the hope that my frustration level will go down and I can get a fresh start tomorrow. My BS was high this morning and I think it was as much stress as the heavy lunch from yesterday.
Got to pop out and stock up on some extra salad stuff to get through the long weekend. See you soon, everybody. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction. :carrot:

Good Morning . . . its rainy and pretty cool . . . luckily I don't have any outdoor plans for the long weekend . . . but I know a lot of people who do. :dizzy:
 Glen . . . good BS reading. Congratulations. Mine was way up at 7.8 (140) yesterday morning but its back down to a 5.5 (99) this morning. I still prefer to get below 5.0 (90) since I usually tend to go up throughout the day (although yesterday went the other way).
 Rosey . . . Hope the birthday gathering goes (went) well. Everything you mentioned preparing sounds yummy. Congratulations on the blouse pattern that's too big. Always fun to get a nice little NSV. Over the years I've made various sizes out of some of my favourite patterns. I cut the patterns pieces out of very light interfacing so they last longer. I really think the pattern manufacturers expect you to use a pattern only once. Hate that flimsy tissue paper. ;) Never fear, I'll get around to some pictures soon.
Have a great day, everybody. Keep doing the good stuff and you'll get good results. See you soon. :carrot:

Hi all!
I was able to do my workout this morning with shoes on! My new tennies are really roomy in the toes so it didn't rub at all, which is a good thing. Now I'm going to go work out in the yard for awhile before it gets too hot!
 to everyone for your support. I've come to terms with the fact that yes, we found it early, and that everything will be okay. I just hate doing the whole surgery thing, but it needs to be done.
Meowee, feel free to ask me q's about your new camera. I'm pretty good with technology. :)
Tried on my dress last night, I could get the top buttoned and the zipper halfway up, but I need to lose about two inches just below my bust to about my belly button. I'm going to step up my workouts, because it would be nice to fit into it by September so I can have one less thing bugging me.
Well, off to the drawing board.
Hugs,
meowee

Wow, Josian . . . shoes. You'll be wearing dancing slippers in no time. Sounds like you're going to need lots of twisting and twirling to whittle that little problem area down. You can do it.
Thanks for the offer of help, I'm sure I'm going to need lots of it. I'm very technologically challenged. I imagine I'll manage to take the picture and get it loaded into the computer, but then . . . I'll be whining for help when I try to get it posted on here. :o At the moment I don't have clue one, but then I haven't looked at any of the software yet.
Sun came out this afternoon and so the day finished up a little better than it started. Same kind of mixed day for tomorrow, apparently. Temperature in the mid sixties so that's good for people wanting to get cottage, boat, trailer, and garden-type chores taken care of. The traditional things people do on the Victoria Day weekend to get set up for the coming summer.
See you soon, gang. Keep doing the right stuff. :carrot:

I finally took some pictures and tomorrow I'll see if I can get them out of the camera. :dizzy: And then, hopefully, onto the internet. :^:
Not doing too well with my eating today. Think I missed a hypo in the middle of the night, my BS was 9.3 (162) this morning and I was starving. Managed to eat both breakfast and lunch by 11:00. Been OK since then, but I'd better think about dinner soon . . . I haven't had anything but a cup of tea since then and it's now 6:00 pm and we know it's not good to go too long without eating either.
Anyway, have a good evening and I'll see you tomorrow. :carrot:

Hi gang . . .
Just a quick little post to let you know I spent a lot of time today trying to figure out how to post a picture. The system kept telling me my image was way, way over the allowable KB limit. Finally figured it out and now I have to go retake the pictures of all my quilted clothing projects with the camera set at VGA and then I still have to lower the resolution a wee bit from that level to get them to download.
In the meantime . . . here is the only picture I've been able to post so far . . . my middle cat, Goldi, and doesn't she look bored with the entire project. ;) But I am HAPPY . . . I now know how to put a picture on 3FC. :carrot:

You know how it goes some times. :dizzy: Nova Scotia weather doesn't know what it wants to do today . . . basically its cool (about 10C - 50F) and overcast . . . but then the sun pokes out for a few minutes and then it sprinkles rain for a few minutes.
Judy . . . have fun with the planting. Hopefully no more frost warnings.
Jeanne . . . Congratulations on the loss. Good luck with the BS readings. My morning BS was 4.4 (79) but it always goes up a little as the day progresses.
Josian . . . Congratulations on the loss. Just don't get carried away and drop those calories too low. You don't want to get sick, girl.
Rosey . . . Not to worry. We all have our little slips. Just pick yourself up and getting moving in the right direction again.

Morning all :)
Thanks Meowee. I'm keeping the ol' calorie count around 1400-1600. I don't want to get sick either! What a beautiful kitty, btw! :)
Other than that, it's the same ol' same ol'. I've been using Fitday to help me track my eating and it seems to be helping. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow though b/c I have to go out of town for the evening, which means, of course, eating out. I've been researching what to eat on my new plan, because I'm doing too well to screw up now! :)
Hugs to all!

Good girl, Josian. . . Good luck on the little 'out-of-towner', I know you can do it.
Oh, Judy . . . I love ice cream in any weather, but especially when it starts to get really warm. Stay strong, girl.
Warm is not a problem in Nova Scotia right now. It is only about 8C/46F this morning and totally overcast. I know it will soon change again and before long we'll be complaining about the heat and humidity . . . but right now it is cold. :(
On a more personal note, the scale decided to let me move my ticker a whole 2 lbs in the down-east direction, and I am a happy camper. :D It's slow going, but as long as things keep moving in the right direction, I try not to get discouraged about the slowness of the journey. :^: It was the tortoise who won the race.
Have a great day, everybody. See you soon. Here's a little :dust: to help us keep doing all the good moving and shaking. :carrot:

Hi, all. Managed to lose most of the 5 lbs. I've put on. My anxiety is very high. Got a notice this morning that the new landlord will take over either this weekend or early next week. Was hoping to get a nice 3-day weekend of peace. I looked the landlord up on the local court website. They are involved in many many lawsuits, some by tenants and others where they aggressively pursue tenants through lawsuits to get them out. Oh, dear. I just want to be left to live in peace. Sorry if I'm whingeing. My exercise program is going okay. I do feel better after going through it. The weather here has been in the 70s, but I prefer it cooler. Well, that's just me. Have a nice day, ladies.

I use the office computer which is an old windows NT without any ports (or whatever you call the connection for the camera, etc.). Boss keeps talking about upgrading but so far hasn't. I'm still twitchy about the incoming landlord which should take place today or next Tues. (Hope it's the latter.) Haven't been too bad eating wise. Will try to stay in control over the 3-day weekend. I will spend one day of it doing heavy duty cleaning I've been putting off. I'm doing okay on my exercise program. Interested to find out if I'm losing inches. Sorry to say, exercise is not one of my priorities either, maybe if I didn't have constant ankle and knee pain most of the time . . . but then I'd probably find another excuse. :o You've been doing so well since you started WW . . . you'll get your groove back soon, I'm sure. ;)

Hey Y'all,
Sorry I've been MIA  ... I left Friday afternoon as soon as I got home from work and went camping:spin: ... My friend and I love to camp.:jig: We're both unattached and rather than sit home wanting to go, we load up and go... try to go once a month...ahhh....
Anyway, we headed to a park in Florida and didn't get home until tonight. We hiked Saturday and then Sunday drove down to the beach (just over an hour from the campground we were at). It was a hot weekend-mid to upper 90's  so we didn't hike as much as usual... a thunderstorm came in last night- we heard the thunder and saw the lightning as we prepared dinner, so we put the raincap back on the tent, got everything covered and headed over to the rec room at the campground to wait out the storm. This particular campground was originally part of a CCC camp and one of the original barracks is used as the office and a rec room... it's open all the time. Once the worst of the storm was over we went back to the tent and fell asleep to the rain hitting the tent... ahhhh..... it really was a great weekend...
Hope y'all had a great memorial day weekend.
Thanks to all our military personal for giving us the freedoms we have!

Well nothing too exciting for me. Got some laundry done and some crocheting and quiltmaking. Up early this morning with a hypo . . . first one in a while that has woken me up. Other than that things are pretty good in the BS and eating control areas. Not good in the exercise department, but heh, you all know that is not one of my strong points. :^:
Keep on doing all the good stuff, gang. See you soon.

Okay, so i'm here. I have type-1 diabetes, and trouble losing weight. I also have trouble keeping my blood sugar below 300. I just keep gaining the pounds and i see no help for me. I really want to be a healthy weight for my future. Tha doctors say that if i don't lose the weight, then i will die within the next 3-5 years! :( You see, my cells don't seem to be absorbing most of the insulin that i am taking. Anyway, i need some support and advice on how to do the weightloss correctly if anyone can help me, that would be very nice. hugs!

Happy Hump Day, Sugar Babies . . . hope the day has been going fairly well.
Hi, Rosey. . . so sorry you are having a tough day. We all know they happen from time to time. Hope you get the rain and that your personal sunshine is back again tomorrow. ;)
Welcome aboard, Mercee. Glad to have you with us. You are doing well on the weight loss already. Keep it up, girl.
Welcome aboard, Krissee. Glad you found us. I know things seem pretty overwhelming right now, but you will find your groove. Josian (our most regularly posting Type I) is away today, but I'm sure she'll have good advice for you when she gets back. In the meantime, feel free to ask anything that pops into your head and we will try to come up with some answers. BTW, I hope your doctor is helping you find some ways to lose the weight rather than just singing doom and gloom at you. For example did the doctor mention that just a ten lb loss can help your insulin resistance a lot.
Obviously you've got to get those numbers down (both the BS and the weight) and the best thing I can suggest is to control your carb intake and make sure it is balanced throughout the day. Also make sure the carbs you eat are the "good" kind. You don't have to give up sugar and starch entirely but the bitter truth is you cannot go out and binge on sweets and soft drinks with your friends on a regular basis. You have to be very conscious of what you are putting in your stomach and the impact it will have on your disease.
Sorry if I'm lecturing you like the grandmother I'm old enough to be, but you sound so down I figured you needed a little 'tough love' to get you thinking in the right direction. You can do it girl. I know you can. And never forget that we are all here to help you through.
Have a good evening, gang. Keep moving and shaking and doing the good stuff and the rewards will surely come your way. See you later. :carrot:

Hi gang . . . this has not been one of my better days. Had to take the car in for a tuneup, etcetera this morning and ended up spending over 4 hours at the place.
Turns out that a family of 'hairy frogs' (AKA field mice) had taken up residence in my heater fan intake and had shorted out the fan motor. I thought the mechanic was joking when he told me this, but apparently it's not all that uncommon. :dizzy: My lovable (but overfed and useless) cats probably threw them a housewarming party. :D
When I got home I was so ravenous my normal lunch didn't fill me up so rather than overeat, I went and had a nap, so that put me even further behind . . . but at least I avoided eating a second lunch. ;)
Nice picture of the family, Glen  . . . when are you going to post one of you?
Great picture of you, Rosey:hug: . . . it's so nice to see the people we spend so much time with. Glad you practiced your smiling routine. Doing otherwise could really slow down your planting season. Hard to work on your own yard when you're in jail for ART (assaulting rude teenagers).

Hey, Another newbie here...
I'm impressed with HOW active this site is...I'm a type 2 db...overweight all my life...Never really able to lose much wt consistently...the most sucessful I've ever been with weight loss is the plan that I followed with a nutritionist back in the early 90's was HIGH CARB:o low fat..but i did lose 60 lbs on it ..which I gained back the next year. Met the man who was to be my husband and we happily both gained wt. But I kept going and am now 321..
So here I am , I tend to gain about 10 lbs every year and that WILL NOT continue...Can not!......i've never been able to lose more than 27 lbs on weight watchers. I have friends who have had gastric bypass surgery, but I just don't want to do that. It depresses me to think that I may need to do that.
I've started following the Jorge Cruise plan which is basically just like so many other plans but all nicely put in to a nice package..Eating all food groups, high veggie, sensible, eating 3 hrs apart..which I think will be very sensible with diabetes...Have lost 11 lbs in the 1st 2 wks and have increased my exercise consistently.
Feel that it would help to hear how other's are doing , what they are doing, and just be among others dealing with diabetes and health / weight issues..I always stumble around week 2 or 3 of a plan . i need all the support I can get.
Glad to be here

Here's a great big welcoming  for you Moodgoddess. Glad to have you with us on this journey. Tell us a little more about yourself . . . what kind of hobbies . . . what kind of medications. Stuff like that.
I was diagnosed with type II about 15 years ago. I take Glyburide, Metformin, Actos and use Insulin at bedtime. I too have been overweight (or fighting it) most of my adult life although I actually weighed 110 for about two weeks back in my twenties (when dinosaurs still roamed the earth). ;) My plan is just basically following the CDA (Canadian Diabetes Association) guidelines and translating my choices into calories and nutrients with a homegrown Excel program. Also try to keep moving and shaking, but exercise is definitely not one of my strong points. :^: My Blood glucose is fairly stable as long as I don't overdo the carbs at any one meal. Because of the bedtime insulin, I run fairly low in the AM (about 4 - 5 on the Canadian scale which is 70 - 90 in U.S. terms) and then go up over the course of the day to around the 7 - 8 (130 - 150) levels by bedtime. I'm a crafter . . . do a lot of quilting, crochet, etcetera. It's hard to eat and do handwork at the same time. ;)
Have a good day . . . Keep doing the right stuff and the rewards will surely follow. I'm sure everyone else will introduce themselves in due course. . . having a group like this really helps me stick with my good stuff. Hope it works out that way for you too.
Okay . . . everybody else . . . you have a great day too. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction. Here's a little :dust: to help us along the way. See you all soon. :carrot:

More about me...I plan to get on the internet this weekend and spend some time getting to know this site and the different support forums out there.
i've been type 2 since the --gosh i think since the 90's...i always thought I was "borderline"..nice denial word..But i do have uncles and aunts on both sides of family with it as well.
I 'm on glucophage 1000 mg twice a day and Actos 45...I usually have about a 6.5 or 6.6 hgb a1c. I'm a carb a holic but .and not always the most compliant with following a good diet for my diabetes. but i'm doing better..eating fried foods like taco bell tend to run my glucoses up..
i'm usually fasting around 110's to 130...
I work at home as a nurse for an insurance company and i'm on the computer and phone ALL day long...I have to get on my "home" computer to surf the internet...
Hobbies: movies, reading, gardening when it 's not too hot, I love going to the places where you can paint pottery and then fire it...my specialty is wildly colorful gekkos for the garden..my husband is a total homebody but i like to Go and do things , but opposites attract...have 2 dogs and an ornery cat...
Looking forward this weekend to getting my haircut..it's the longest i've had it since I was about 12..it's just at my waist in the very back..time to get a few inches cut off..go shopping a little, visit my mother in law in an assisted living..and relax...I live in Georgia where it's hot and sticky , but we are having a cool front this weekend..so i may have to get some more yardwork done...
take care

Hey Tweetyandme have you tried going to a diatician. I know that I have gone to so many classes about my diabetes, not learning one thing how to control it. I am a firm believer that everybody is different. I do not know what you are trying now. But, I have noticed that it has helped me to do a low fat, low carb diet. I am able to take my medication and it works. In your case I would do low fat and almost no carbs....because your body can not digest it. Fat has a tendency to raise your glucose and causes it to stay high. I no longer eat white starchy things. Do some research on foods that raise glucose levels...even some veggies do. I am not a dietician or doctor, this is just advice from one person to the next. If you can PM me with the things you are eating like a food journal...that would be helpful. I have also joined a different sight to keep track of my food and fat...and it helps. Drink lots of water. When my suger is high I drink lots of water and sometimes go for a walk, because that lowers it as well. You might have to go for walks right after your meals to get your body going.
Best of luck...Tanya

Have any of you tried Beretta (I think that is the name of it) or Byetta. I am on Glucophage right now, but I am having a hard time regulating. I have decreased my meds because I am doing such a good job regulating my sugar through diet. Heres the thing, my doctor has given me the freedom to change my doses according to how I am doing. I am on WW and I also make sure I am eating balanced meals (because WW doesn't teach you that). I eat only whole grains, low fat, low carb, no processed foods, and flour. I am doing good on this. I will take 500 mg at night because I run high at night, then in the morning I take 250 mg...because if I take 500mg in the am I play catch up all day trying to get my surger up. Did you find that this was a problem when you started to eat better and healthier?
Have any of you been able to get off you meds? I am under a lot of stress and I find it that this affects my sugar and weight loss. I am thinking I really need to do yoga, to lower the stress.
I know the heat gets to me so bad, and I am in TX. I have hypothyroid so I cant seem to regulate my temp. At night I am freezing and during the day I am so hot I want to run around naked.
I am glad there is this thread, because you all know about the hot flashes you get with food. I am happy to say I haven't had one in a while. I hate that fealing. I got a headache the other morning so bad and my sugar was 170. I think my body is getting used the lower sugars so when it hit 170 it wasn't happy. There was a point where at 170 I was feeling good, because I was so used to them running higher.
Enough about me....well, I guess it would be good to tell you all a little more. I am 36, married with one child. He has special needs so most of my stress comes from his doctors. I had gustational diabetes, and pre-eclampsia and my son was born 3 months premature. Due to the stress my body shut down, and I am now a full blown diabetic. My sugars were at 350 when they cought it after I had my son. I have been battling it for 3 years now. It has been hard to learn about your body, because everybody is different. I have had to learn my trigger, which I am sure all of you have. The highest meds, not including pregnancy, was 1000mg 2 times a day. I am now down to 250mg am and 500mg pm. I also have hypothyroid, and depression. I am gradually getting off the depression medication, and hope to be off of it soon. I also look forward to no diabetes meds.
So that is my medical history in a nut shell.
Talk to you all later...Tanya

Hi all,
I'm hoing to stay home today --i have a lot of bill writing , laundry, need for down time, and surf time.....all after church and grocery store this morning already. Yesterday, did a lot..went to a health food store Whole Food Groceries...loaded up on fresh veggies and some fruits and a supplement called Greens Superfoods...I took this when I had my wt loss several years ago and it is recommended by Jorge Cruise on his 3 hr eating plan that I am following...
I feel like I'm walking egg shells in a way because I haven't been able to successfully follow any certain eating plan for more than a couple of weeks..and here I am at the end of 2 wks..andsuccessfully down 10 lbs, have exercised at some level or another almost everyday....
I either expect too much or don't give enough credit to what I am doing..I think the diabetes has a lot to do with it..I also have sleep apnea and use a cpap device to blow air in to my airway to keep from snoring / stopping breathing while I sleep.
Anyway, good to be here..
Rosey, it's good to hear how you are doing ..Living in alaska is a fantasy of mine.

Hi gang . . . another cold and rainy day in Atlantic Canada. Had to close all the windows and the heat actually keeps turning on . . . but I know it won't be long until I'm complaining about the heat and the humidity.
My day has been ticking along pretty good . . . eating right and actually did some TV-related exercise. I've never been very good with the exercise but lately I've even stopped the little I was doing . . . must get back to it. Started working on a cross-stitch for a nephew (and niece-in-law) who are getting married in September. Just a little something to go along with the cheque I know they will like and put to good use.
 Tanya . . . I've been playing around with the amount of insulin I take rather than my other meds. It is the thing I most want to be able to eliminate from my life because it really makes weight-loss difficult and I also hate needles, a lot. Of course, the best thing any of us can do, is to lose the excess weight and that's why we are all here. Keep posting, chickie. It really helps to keep me heading in the right direction and I think the rest of the group would say much the same thing.
 Rosey . . . so glad to hear you are having such a great day, and such great weather too.
 Goddess . . . you've been doing great, girl on both the eating and the exercising fronts. Just keep on doing the good stuff and the rewards will follow. As I mentioned before, come and post often. The companionship and understanding around here reallly, really helps.
Well, I'm getting hungry . . . Going to throw together a little stir-fry (without oil) consisting of a few shrimp and lots, and lots, of veggies. Yum. See you all tomorrow and here's a little :dust: to help us all make it through the night. Hey, where are all the rest of you hiding? We miss you. :carrot:

Hey Y'all
I've been around...:dunno: just didn't take the time to post.... I've been on a carb craving...so that tells me that Aunt Bertha (TOM) is just around the corner... I was not happy with the scales today... +4! :tantrum:
this has been an uneventful weekend. Yesterday I did housework and then headed to a friend's house (she's single too). We drove to a park that's about 30 minutes away to check out the campsites. Later this month we will be taking her sunday school class (7th and 8th grade girls) camping. They have been telling her they want to go... so we're taking them and will turn it into a retreat with bible study... It'll be fun! :dancer:
Then we went back to her house for dinner... watched a movie... and I spent the night since she lives about 20 minutes from me...
today was church... and it was homecoming complete with dinner on the grounds....if you've ever been to a church in the South... you know what that means- there was enough food there to feed an army!:hungry: Too much!! We took a fruit salad with watermelon, grapes and strawberries- served in the hollowed out watermelon.... but that doesn't mean i didn't eat any of the desserts.... oh.... to much food!! :ink:
Ah well... it's a new week... a fresh start!

Hey everyone..just checking in ..I'm trying to get my avatar in there but it's not working. .coming soon......
Here in Ga we had a cool night in the 60's but it's back to 80 and the AC is on..just did my exercise..i surprise myself and did aerobics with Gilad on tv..hopefully, won't regret it with aches and pain in the am..
Reba---I'm an Alabama girl originally , yes church meals can be an issue.. Our pastor always jokes that the food at church is "calorie free"...argh..It sets me in to a cookie /dessert spin usually because we have lots of good cooks at church....When I'm in a "good place" meaning eating healthy and appropriate for my weight / diabetes.. , I just skip it or eat carefully and have a tiny "sample taste ": of dessert.....In a bad place, I'll have a couple of things but it sets me off in to wanting more cookies or muffins or whatever for a few days..
next tuesday , we are having a ladies garden dinner...usually fairly healthy , but with always a dessert or two in there...I signed up for cheese and crackers, but am going to throw some veggies in there too I think..
Well the water is boiling for pasta...i wish I could get my hubby to like whole grain...

Hi, all. Sorry I've been MIA, but I have been in too much of a dither to post. We expected the new landlord to take over last week so I and my neighbors had worked ourselves up to a froth waiting for them to make their move. We found out Friday that the building hasn't changed hands yet but may do so in a week or so. For those of you have asked, I don't really want to go into details on this open forum, but if you want to PM me I can give you a website that will describe what I'm about to be up against. Anyway, the damage all this is causing to my health is upsetting me. My morning sugars have been 190-200 and who knows what my blood pressure is doing. My sleep is worse than usual and I've been resorting to valium to try to calm down. Last weekend I got thrown off of my routine and ended up eating poorly, but am back on track today.
Rosey - it's great to see your smiling face! Sorry about your back. Hope it gets better soon.
Glen - thanks for caring. Glad your blood sugar has been stabilized. Nice to see your family, but when we will see you?
Meowee - hope you get some good weather soon.
Welcome to the newbies - you'll find good support here.

Hi there, everybody . . . I seem to be running around like the proverbial headless chicken today . . . busy, busy, busy . . . with very little to show for it. The weather has been lovely for a change. Hope it continues like this. Sunny and warm (but not too warm).
Rosetta . . . you've got to try to calm down, girl. Take a deep breath and smile. Your blood sugar and blood pressure will thank you for it.
Rosey . . . All that salmon sounds wonderful and it is easy to tell that you re getting very excited about the company coming. But don't forget to keep doing the good stuff.
Jeanne . . . glad to hear from you, girl. Hope your weather is better today, too. Good luck with getting those meds sorted out.
Goddess . . . good luck with the Garden Dinner. It certainly sounds like it should be healthy. Try mixing a little whole wheat in with the regular pasta and then just keep increasing the proportion of the good stuff. Bet he'll never really notice after the fourth or fifth meal.
Well, I'd better get back to it . . . whatever 'it' is. Have a good evening everybody. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction. See you soon. :carrot:

Hi all. I'm a little calmer today. That's because nothing has happened yet and I think we have a week's reprieve. Still, my blood sugar hasn't come down any. I know my doc is going to add back in the Actos. Hope it doesn't stop me from losing weight. Right now I'm maintaining and trying not to get off track.
Rosey - yum -- wild alaska salmon. It costs a fortune down here. How do you fix it. I'm not much of a cook so I just bake it with basil and a little lemon. That should fit in with your weight watchers program.
Meowee - we've been having sunny weather too. Not too hot - just right. Hope yours stays that way for awhile as you run hither and thither.
Jeanne - I have the same problem with my HMO. They won't pay for the brand Glucophage and the generic makes me sick. Fortunately, I am able to obtain it through another source. Talk to your doctor about the problems with the insurance. He may be able to suggeset another drug they cover or give you some samples on a regular basis.
Well, I'm off to the gym to try to work off some of my stress.

Hi all!
Sorry I've been MIA. Went to Boise to look at more property, but nothing so far.
Goddess, have you tried whole grains like spelt or amarath? There are many other types of grains besides whole wheat. I personally love amarath. They don't have such a heavy taste-I bet if you switched to amarath one night he wouldn't even notice. Regular pasta is mushy to me now that I've been eating primarily whole grains for the past year.
Hugs to all. Gotta get back on track! :)

Hi there, sugarbabes . . .
Josian . . . glad to see you back, we missed you.
Rosetta. . . glad you are feeling a little calmer and hope the exercise reduces your stress a bit.
Nova Scotia weather is uncertain today . . . a little sun, a little cloud, a little more humidity . . . and calling for quite a bit of rain over the next few days. :(
Personally, things are a little brighter . . . it's my normal www and I've been able to move my ticker another 1.2 pounds to the east. AND, that puts me into a new decade. Not by much, mind you, but it is nice to see just the same. :D
Hope you all have a great day. Keep moving and shaking, gang. See you soon. :carrot:

Hi, all. Up about 2 lbs at the official weigh-in last night. Have to get back on track. I really want to start losing weight again. I have a painful corn that's curtailing my lunchtime walks and can't get to the podiatrist until the end of the month. It's still sunny here with temps about 70. Usually the warm weather escalates until the fog rolls in but we've been having steady sunny mild weather.
Meowee - congrats on the weight loss! Rosey - I guess the rain will keep you in doing your chores.
Off to the gym tonight. I haven't figured out yet to see if it's doing anything since I don't break too much of a sweat. I should have had someone measure me when I started to see if I'm losing inches.

Hi all. wanted to share a new recipe..my neighbor got a new vita mix machine and made this soft serve ice cream in it for me "yummy" but i dont have a400 $ fancy dancy machine so i revised it for a reg blender..i just loved it..into the blender one container of light vanilla yougart..1T coffee creamer..1/2 c.lofat milk..1 pkg slpenda( she used honey)..2 lg spoonfuls of sf coolwhip..1/2 bag frozen sf fruit(iused blueberries)blend on high till smooth.. you can eat it like it is or refreeze for a firmer texture..i made these last night on even my dh liked it..you can use whatever frozen fruit you like..its similar to the ww milk shake but this uses no ice and makes a thick soft serve type ice cream..try it..and its healthy:dizzy: (((((((hugs))))))) rosey

Hi all.
Talk about strange numbers. Went into my LEEP surgery this morning, was all ready to go, and my BG came back 397. Needless to say, they cancelled it and I got lectured. It was okay yesterday. Must have been the combination of the stress of surgery and the pizza that I obviously didn't take enough insulin for.
Ack. Rescheduled for in office on the 14th. I'll deal with local anesthetic.
A bit bummed out because of it. I need to snap to and get on with it, and get serious ALL THE TIME about my diabetes regimen. This waxing and waning stuff doesn't cut it.

ok, i'ts actually thursday night still...but i'm ready to be done...DONE with work..I'm, working on some very sad cases..i follow catastrophic cases for an insurance company and a couple have me worn out ...
Ready for the weekend..but this weekend..i have to buckle down and organize my mother's papers..i'm the executor of her will ..she passed last summer..and would just feel better having it organized. i have to go down and finalize the will in a couple of weeks. The trip will be brightened by a swing by a casino for a couple of days with my sister ...and it will be good to spend time with her ...but it 's a trip I'd rather not have to take...and it will be a test of my new eating plan.
Ate out at Applebees tonight and dh wanted ice cream..i gave in and had a small scoop. It had been a day where i'd missed a snack and also had a treat coming...the jorge cruise plans has you eat 3 meals with 2 snacks and a treat...i was swamped with work and couldn't keep up with the plan.
And tomorrow is weigh in day for me...
we'll see..i had dreams about scales the other night--weighing once a week is better for my emotions but is obviously affecting me..
Rosey ..will have to try that recipe out..would be healthier than what i had today..
Happy Friday everyone!!!!

Friday June 9--checking in ..and it really is friday now......today is weigh in day...weighing puts me in to tail spin mode..i'm either not losing enough or gaining or even if i lose a lot..obsessed with plotting how to lose more....
my wt is almost exactly the same as last week if not a 2/10 of lb more..
i'm really shocked because i've been working out.. and following the plan as best as I could..I'm trying to tell myself.." you probably lost inches, or gained muscle from exercising daily / resistance training, etc" After the first week on the plan i lost about 11 lbs...now at week 3 i'm still at that same loss...i also tell myself..well it must be that the wt loss is still within the guidelines jorge talks about...but it's just very frustrating...
fbs after having the ice cream last night is 140..slightly up.....dinner was a good meal for me though ..Applebees has weight watcher menu...had broccoli, 1/2 cup rice pilaf, and steak stewkers...
would like any advice or suggestions..thanks

Just a quick Hello . . . Nova Scotia is stuck under an extreme low-pressure bomb and I'm having the worst migraine I can remember this year. The low pressure is supposed to hold for the whole weekend and boy I really hope the headache doesn't. This is the pits. And it doesn't do good things for the BS either.
Anyway, just letting you know I'm thinking of you, gang. See you later and I hope it's soon. Right now I can't stand the glare off the computer screen any longer. :carrot:

I'm doing better today. I had to wallow in self-loathing yesterday, but I snapped out of it this morning. My blood sugar is still bouncing off the walls, enough that it's too high to excercise. Hopefully, if I bring it down enough tonight I can go to Curves. I've been bad and haven't gone for a week, due to being in Boise then this funky rut that I'm in. Well, I better get crackin'.

Hi. I was recently diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. I was hoping to find some folks who have similar problems and can give me some support and guidance in learning to control my glucose levels. I am 53, and have been overweight since my first child was born 28 years ago. I struggled with being insulin resistant for years before I finally was not able to keep up with my insulin needs and became full blown diabetic. I find it particularly difficult to lose now that I am taking Amaryl, and Metformin. I exercise every day, for about 30 to 45 minutes, and eat a low glycemic diet. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

It's a blistering hot day in Georgia...i ran errands after church: gassed up car, went to visit mom in law at assisted living but my father in law was visiting and didn't want to interrup them since he doesn't come often, visited book store, bed bath and beyond..grocery store..it was so hot that the pavement was heating up my toes...today was my day for rest / no exercise..but after shopping / bringing in the groceries..i was hot and sweaty and out of breath.:o .time to rest..the dogs / cat were glad I came home and turned on the air conditioner..
Got my salad and veggies, sugar free caramel flavored jello pudding :D , chicken to grill and eat off of for the next few day......i'm trying to plan my food out for the next few days ..will see how that works...
enjoy the evening...stay cool

Hi all. :)
Did my wedding registry at Williams-Sonoma today. Phew! Lots of good stuff. DF and I spent two hours in the store!
BGs finally down to high-normal range. 164 this AM, 127 at lunch. I've done a bit of changing, since I don't see the doc for another 6 weeks: 40 units of Lantus, 1 u of Novolog per 10 g carbs, then 1 u Novolog to 20mg/dl correction dose. Think I've got myself figured out again.
We are smoking a tri-tip for dinner: Yum! Gonna be hard to wait three hours for it! In the meantime, I have a pie and cookies to make for my meeting Tuesday night.
Hugs!

Just though I'd let you know I'm still hanging in. The low pressure is stalled over Atlantic Canada and it seems I no sooner start feeling a little better than I get another kick in the head. BS is also somewhat erratic (not surprising) and if I'm not sleeping (which I'm doing a lot of), I'm hungry but so far I'm not doing too badly.
To add to the fun, of course, any OK time I get I've been spending on the 'work-project'. Why does everything always happen at once?
Hopefully I'll be back to normal again soon, and you'll once again be wishing you could shut me up. In the meantime, keep on moving and shaking, gang. I'll see you soon. :carrot:

Hi, all. I had a bad weekend. The new landlord took over Friday but has not been seen or heard. That wouldn't be bad but the elevator was stuck on Saturday morning and there was no one to call. Most of the older people live on the high floors. I live on the 6th and although I can walk up and down, it's very hard on my knees. I went out Saturday to the gym and bought enough groceries for the weekend. Had to stay home Sunday to give my knees a rest. Tension is high and so is by blood sugar. And I have to do my A1c tomorrow for my endo appt next week.
Meowee - sorry about those migraines. I used to get them all the time but somehow after I hit menopause they pretty much stopped. Hope the weather breaks.
Rosey - Did you have a good time with your gdd? I bet you're really happy with the painting. Are you going to paint the rest of the house?
Totoro - Welcome to the thread. It's a good place to get and give support. I can sympathize with the meds/weight loss problem. While Amaryl will inhibit weight loss, metformin will not. Maybe you can discuss with your doctor about just taking metformin and try to control your bs with diet.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Well, gang . . . I think I'm pretty much back to whatever passes for "normal" in my life . . . at least I'm not in pain at the moment . . . and the sun came out a bit late this afternoon (although sometimes a change to higher pressure can trigger a migraine, too . . . so far so good). I'm not going to push my luck by trying to go all the way back in the thread to play catch-up so please forgive me if I'm a bit out of sync.
So sorry to hear about your Mother's accident Josian  Hope she's going to be okay really soon. I definitely know what you mean about everything happening at once.
Oh wow, Rosetta  Another "why does everything happen at once" moment. Hard to decide which is the lesser of evils . . . hearing from the nasty landlord everyone fears or having nobody to call when things go wrong. Keep strong, girl. Hopefully everything will be fine really soon.
Sorry, Goddess, but I will not change temperatures with you. I'd rather have to turn on the heat than suffer in the hot, hot, hot like you've got. Hang in there, kiddo.
Hope you both had lots of fun with the granddaughters, Rosey and Judy. Wish mine were closer . . . although I don't imagine I would have enjoyed them (or them, me) too much this past weekend.
I came across a cute little saying on a cross-stitch today that just seemed to suit my mood and also some of the stuff the rest of you are going through, too . . . . LET'S TRY TO GET THE FUN BACK IN DISFUNCTIONAL . . . think I'm going to have to make that one.
Anyway, have a good evening, everybody and I'll see you tomorrow. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction. :carrot:

About to be tuesday...
Well tuesday is supposed to be the church ladies garden party ..except this storm front Alberto ..not sure if he's a hurricaine officially...is screwing things up..Normally , it's a very nice dinner in the garden of one of my church friends ..and the whole thing looks like something out of a House and Garden or Martha Stewart magazine. But we are supposed to be getting pop up thunder storms , so probably will be in the church hall instead....I'm taking cheese, crackers, and grapes...
Eating got off a little bit today ..couldn't get all the calories in..what an issue?..i grilled chicken , steak and veggies..I'm not a good cook , but probably the best thing I made was grilled asparagus. I tried to convince my husband that the asparagus was restaurant quality (i've had asparagus that sucked at restaurants)..But his idea of veggies is corn , mashed potatoes and english peas mixed together...
take care everyone...:smug:

Looks like Atlantic Canada is going to have a nice sunny day, yay. Still fairly cool and that is just the way I like it. Hope it continues for a long, long time just like this. :carrot:
Hi Rosey . . . So sorry to hear that you've got a bad lower-back problem. You've got to stop doing such vigorous exercise in the middle of the night, girl. I mean, I've heard of sleep-walking, but you are really carrying it a little too far by doing the splits. At your age . . . tsk, tsk. You should know better by now. :D I like your 'barbie-doll-world' quote, too. Hope we'll see some others soon. Oh yes I do know how to spell 'dysfunction', too bad I can't type it right. ;)
Oh Goddess . . . I really feel for you having such a terrible eating problem. :p All kidding aside, too few calories isn't too great either. Be careful with that asparagus, kiddo. Nobody is allowed to ruin my favourite vegetable. Luckily it's pretty easy to cook. Hope Alberto (whatever it is now) manages to leave you alone so you can have a great time at the inside/outside garden party.
Have a great day everybody wherever you are and whatever you are doing. We miss your happy faces and hope to see them all here soon. Keep on moving and shaking and doing all the right stuff. See you soon. :carrot:

Hi, all. To my relief the elevator was fixed when I got home last night. Thank goodness because my poor knees couldn't take much more of that. One knee still hurts. No sign of the new landlord yet, but there's tension waiting for the other shoe to drop. I've been going from being too tense to eat much to wanting to drown my sorrows in food. Oh, my.
Rosey - So glad your back problem has dissolved as well as whatever that hip thing was. Getting older, you never know what's coming up next. Hope its roses for you, my dear.
Meowee - sounds like your clouds have broken and you're back to your usual self.
Jeanne - I lived in the mid-west for a year and I remember those humid summers. Hope you have air conditioning. Sounds like the Byetta is doing a good job.
Moon - asparagus is one of my favorite veggies. If your hubby doesn't like it treat yourself to a double portion. It has very few calories. Hope Alberto stays away from your garden party.
My current favorite quote: "I'd love to kiss ya, but I just washed my hair." Bette Davis in a film whose name I've forgotten.

Hi, all. I slept little last night and about 5:30 a.m. I felt my heart atwitter. Turned out it was an earthquake! lol. Landlord made his first move yesterday. See a lawyer tomorrow. So it begins. What a way to have to live.
Josian - glad your procedure went well.
Rosey - at least somebody got a good night's sleep. Wish I were retired now too but I have about 10 years to go if my body and mind holds up.
Be well.

Hi Josian . . . glad things went well for you. You really should be taking a couple of days off instead of going out of town again. Try not to overdo things.
Hi Rosey . . . glad you are feeling better today. Hope everything stays great for you. Retirement is wonderful isn't it.
Hi Rosetta . . . glad the earthquake was only mild. What did the landlord do to send you all scurrying off to lawyers?
Do you guys find it very quiet around the boards this week? Seems wherever I go, things are very slow. Hope it picks up soon.
We are having rain again . . . our little tail-whipping from Alberto . . . at least I don't seem to have an aching head, but everything else (including my stomach) has been noticing the dampness. Hope it all goes away soon.
Have a good one, kiddos. See you again really soon. :carrot:

Hey ..everybody...
Glad to hear Alberto and earthquakes and medical procedures aside, that everyone is doing pretty well..so am I..
I've never heard of the fairy -fat- mother ..but I like it!! I imagine her to look like that slighlty plump, wicked fairy god mother in the second Shrek movie..But in this case if she takes our fat away..she can't be all that bad ..I wish we had an emoticon for her .............that's kinda close......:wizard: :smug:
Had our ladies garden party for church it was very nice..weather was cool ..surprisingly, this is Georgia. Food wise, I had saved eating a snack for the day and combined it with dinner...tried to have plenty of protein and veggies but did have small serving of dessert and small portion of wine.. I probably ate less than I would have before but don't know how it will affect my weight loss ...got a little extra exercise in yesterday to compensate as well.....went swimming (dog paddling really) in addition to my usual.. joints are feeling a little achey...even though i'm exercising almost daily and feel better....i still feel out of shape when i'm out walking in the "real world"...
take care all...tomorrow is weigh in day..i'm on the once a week only on the scale plan.....cuz I can't deal with the scale..get obsessed over it...

Wow, Rosey . . . You are really going to be busy, busy, busy. Glad the sun has come out to help you finish up all the last minute 'get-ready-stuff'. Hope you are going to have a great, great time.
I'm a 'once-a-weeker' too, Goddess . . . I cannot handle the daily fluctuations. I'm not too sure what the Fairy-Fat-Mother looks like either. She's elusive, kind of like the tooth-fairy, but older. Whatever, she looks like, I'm always glad to see her.
Alberto cleared out overnight and left us with a gorgeous day. Lots of sun, no humidity and temperatures in the low to mid 70's. Supposed to be much the same again tomorrow. I do think he took a couple of my roof shingles with him, though. The light fixture in my computer room started to leak about bedtime last night. :dizzy: It did this once last year and then was fine again so I'll just have to wait and see what happens the next time it rains. But it is starting to sound like a roof job will be in my future. $$$$$$
Have a great evening, sugar-babes. Keep on doing the good stuff and the rewards will surely follow. See you soon. :carrot:

We are having an absolutely gorgeous day . . . although the temperature is in the high 70's/low 80's (just about the very top of my 'tolerable zone') . . . it's sunny and there's no humidity to speak of, and there's a lovely gentle breeze so I don't mind it at all.
Sorry you are having rain, Rosey . . . At least it's a good day for getting stuff done. I'm with you. At my age, comfort is the foremost thing I ask of my clothing choices . . . that, plus clean, of course. Stylish is way down the list. ;)
Well, other than our new buddy from Sugar Busters, Monet, it doesn't look like we've picked up a bunch more sugar-babes with our new sub-forum status. At least not so far. As a matter of fact I wonder where some of our regulars are hiding out????

Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well and your right that could very well explain your 111. I had a fairly good BS day myself . . . from 3.6 (65) in the am to 6.8 (122) just now. Wish I could get it to stay a little more even throughout the day. I'll probably have to admit the doctor is right and start splitting the insulin into two doses a day instead of the one at bedtime. Hi all. :)
Been checking the board, just haven't been posting....
Crazy night. My '75 jeep had an electrical fire: luckily we caught it before it got too out of control. She'll have some scars and a bunch of electrical work to be done, but she's fixable (so my dad thinks). DF is a little mad, but what else can you do? Luckily we were home when it happened.
Talk more tomorrow!

Just thought I would drop in and say hello. I had a doctor's appointment today and my A1c was 9%...down from 14.4% the end of March! He told me that holding my weight consistent was actually a loss, since most people gain as the A1c comes down. I hope he was not just humoring me! He also suggested Byetta...so I am going to try it.
ROSEY: My husband is like that...he just can't seem to be quiet in the morning! I can sleep through it sometimes, but not usually. He seems to be slamming drawers, doors...
MEOWEE: What are your temps like this time of year? In my imagination, Nova Scotia is gorgeous... It is mountainous isn't it? Perhaps I need to come see it sometime!

Hi, all. Been very busy at work so didn't have much time to check in and post. Had a bad few days due to a problem with my knee. Having had to walk down and up 6 flights several times the previous weekend took it's toll on my knees, one knee in particular. Thursday and Friday I was in extreme pain, so I stayed in on the weekend and fortunately the pain has gone away. The stairs aggravated a problem I've been having with the orthotic on one foot which is doing something to throw my knee out. See the podiatrist next week. Oy vey! See the endo tomorrow and I find out the results of my A1c. I'm still stressed out about the landlord thing but my sls have come down a little, although still too high. It guess it will be back to the Actos.
Rosey - I hope you got your nap. You need to be brighteyed and bushy tailed for your company. That's funny about your flower colors. Kind of a garish combo of colors, but flowers are pretty anyway.
Monet - glad to see your post. We've come up in the world to have our very own moderator!
Gotta go home.

Morning all . . . our day is pretty overcast . . . and the humidity is going up . . . oh well, I guess we do have to have summer. :(
Rosey . . . Good thing you like purple and mixed with yellow . . . well since it was too cold for a good show of flowers at Easter, I guess there's no time like the present. :dizzy: Sounds like you are getting very excited about the Company. Try to control yourself before you start re-cleaning everything again.
Monet . . . Since I'm originally from Ontario, I can say Nova Scotia is beautiful without sounding like I'm bragging. I don't think of it as particularly mountainous although there are definitely some sections of very rocky coastline, especially around Cape Breton. How's the weather . . . well, compared to Ontario, I like it much better. In the summer we usually manage mid-seventies to mid-eighties and we only get one or two weeks of really bad humidity throughout the season. Nice fresh ocean breezes usually keep things fairly comfy. (In the winter, we call those breezes 'gale-force-winds' ;) ) Let me put it this way, I've lived here about 12 years now without an air conditioned house and only have a few nights a year when the heat really keeps me awake. I would never want to try to live in Ontario without central air.
Rosetta . . . Glad things are a little calmer for you although I am sorry to hear about the knee problems. Actos is a good med but it is unfortunate it doesn't do good things for weight control.
Hace a great day, gang. Keep moving and shaking and heading in the downward direction. see you soon. :carrot:

Hi all :)
My procedure went well last Wednesday, except that I got an infection and it hurt to sit for a couple of days. Started antibiotics and finally felt better on Sunday. Went to Curves this morning, and did 2 of my 3 rotations so not too bad. I didn't want to over do it.
I need to get my A1c checked... it's been almost a year. eek. bad girl.

Hi, all. Back from the endo. My A1c is 6.3, much higher than last Fall, but still just under the acceptable level. Also, my microalbumin has come down, which I'm thankful for. He didn't put me on the Actos because I still want to try to lose weight. Will try to be better with my diet. Going to the gym tonight and hope that the knee won't bother me.
Meowee - Nova Scotia seems like my kind of place. Would love to live somewhere closer to nature than I do now.
Josian - get that A1c test soon.
We've having warm weather but it's still tolerable. Wish I were in the mountains or in a quiet place by the sea. Sigh.

Morning!
Had a scare with the Skye pup yesterday: took her to the vet, as she had an accident in the house and it had mucous and other nasties...plus she was drinking lots of water, lethargic... did an xray, no signs of foreign matter or a blockage, so they sent me home with some fiber to finish cleaning out her system, told me to keep an eye on her...
BG doing great at 126 despite yesterdays stress.

Hey everyone! I am really excited! The Byetta has been really great so far. I have felt a little nauseous, but nothing bad at all. I am trying to be careful what I eat and how much. My glucose levels have been just about perfect! I am just amazed! I did not get my walk in this morning, due to a UTI flaring up, so I took a nap instead. I feel better now, the UTI is better, and my bg levels are better than if I had gone for the walk. I plan to get in the pool this afternoon and do some water jogging. I don't want to fall out of the habit of my daily workout. :)
MEOWEE: Thanks for posting a website. That one is a good one! I went there to get more info on Byetta the other day, and found it helpful.
I need to get out of here...I am the wedding coordinator for my church and I have an appointment with a caterer this afternoon!

Hi Gang . . .
Picked up new glasses yesterday and they are driving me nuts . . . right lens is fine, but left one is terrible . . . may have to get back to the old perscription on that side . . . I know it's the growing cataract in that eye that is causing the problem so don't want to get too excited about it until I see the opthamologist next month . . . in the meantime I'll just go around lopsided I guess. :dizzy:
Josian . . . Wow, girl, you do seem to recover quickly . . . good going. Hope Skye is OK. It's so hard to see one of the babies sick no matter whether they are the skin-covered or the fur-covered kind.
Rosetta . . . that's a great A1C considering all the stress you've been under. Good going.
Rosey . . . I don't know, girl, for somebody who talks about not liking housework, you seem to be doing an awful lot of it lately. Sounds like you're trying to turn it into a new hobby.
Monet . . . that's a great result from the Byetta. Hope it continues and that you don't get any of the really nasty side effects.
Nothing much new around here . . . weather is absolutely gorgeous . . . sunny and pleasantly warm but the humidity from yesterday has mostly dropped off. Love it.
Our local TV station carries a local SPCA program and I just saw two of the cutest little tuxedo (black and white) kittens . . . little identical twins . . . and I'm trying so hard to convince myself that I do not need any more . . . three cats is quite enough. Of course, my friend who was here at the time isn't helping any . . . she has 6 dogs and one cat . . . and is trying to convince me that 5 cats would be a much better number than 3. Be strong, Linda.
Anyway, gang, keep moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction. Here's a dose of :dust: to help us all stay away from the food today and an extra dose for me to keep me away from the kitten store. :dust: See you soon. :carrot:

Morning!
Skye is doing better... I did the smart thing and put her outside after getting back from Curves this morning: Good thing I did!
Here's a pic of my cat: One is PLENTY, believe me. She thinks she's a dog: She sits on top of her kitty tree and dive bombs the dogs as they go by: If I trim her nails, she takes it out on the dogs by chasing them all over the house... Skye will only put up with a little bit, so usually the cat will dish it out to our other dog.
Can't stay long: I have to go to my northernmost store and make it back by 3:00, so I can get set up for my 2nd job, again.

Hi, all. I was down a lb. at the weigh-in last night. Surprised since I haven't been very good. But I'll take it. Must be all the stress. :(
Meowee - I've had cataracts in both eyes and had surgery. While I was waitign for them to "ripen" it was a real pain. Had to change prescriptions a lot. Have you discussed with your doctor when you can have the surgery? As for the kitties, you probably want to leave well enough alone. I once had neighbors who had 8 cats in a studio apartment! They all staked out their territories, but the fur was all over the place and for the first time in my life I had an allergic reaction to cats.
Rosey - I'll trade you the rain for my heatwave. It's been in the 80s all week. I want the fog back! You're lucky to have a golden retriever -- they're such nice dogs. At least she didn't chew up your shoes!
I read in the NYTimes today that in addition to Byetta, there are three other diabetes drugs coming out on the market within the next year. I wish I could take Byetta but can't because of my gastroparesis.
Glen -

I could so use some rain, too. It was 90 in our house last night when we got home. Skye still has an upset belly, and she was listless in the heat. You don't shave Huskies: their coat will never grow back the same: So I took a wet rag and wiped down her belly, pressure points and paws with it... Seemed to help.
This is the start of the month when AC would be REALLY nice.
Skye is acting better; she has been able to keep down food and water this morning. I just hope her yucky bowels straighten up soon.

Hi Nosugarmomma . . . don't know what happened but your post, didn't post? All I see is the heading "today" ????
Hi Rosey . . . glad you enjoyed the icecream . . . the high fat content keeps it fairly low on the glycemic index and that softens the impact on your BS reading.
Where oh where is everybody else hiding out? Hope you are all having fun, whatever you're doing. See you later. :carrot:

Good morning! Its been a rather lazy weekend around here. I did some shopping and got in about an hour of water aerobics yesterday. I am going to head out for a walk in just a few minutes...I hope it is not too hot.
The Byetta is still working pretty well. I also seem to have lost a few pounds. Official weigh in is Monday morning, so I will see then what it looks like. I am trying not to be too optimistic, since this has been a looonngggg journey for me, and I have been pretty disappointed numerous times in the past.
ROSEY: I hope your time with your family is wonderful!
MEOWEE: We had terrible thunderstorms last night. My daughter is out of town, and her cat is a total wuss. He cowered under my chair during the worst of it. Poor thing! I hope your weather has improved!
NOSUGAR: Howdy! Its nice to meet you. I hope your foot is better real soon.
ROSETTA: How are your knees? Better I hope! What is gastroparesis, if you don't mind my asking?
JOSIAN: I hope your pup is doing better!
I need to head out for my walk before it gets too hot... Take care!

Hiding out with the new evaporative cooler and a nice cool house!!! yay! After four years, I finally talked DF into buying a cooler. After all the struggles yesterday, we finally enjoyed a cool house! (first one was busted when we took it out of the box...)
I've been following my diet plan to the T. Haven't lost anything since earlier in the week, but I'm hopeful. We shall see.
Skye is on the mend, finally.
Off and running!

Hi gang. I've never posted in this particular forum before but I am a Type 2 and thought I could use some support.
Just a quick note about the gas problem mentioned above. I have noticed that whenever I buy and eat chocolates or candy sweetened with Maltitol the "end" result is horrible, explosive gas. The last time I suffered the consequences of eating this stuff was last week when I bought a bag of Weight Watchers chocolates (1 pt each but who stops with 1??) Ohmygawd! How I suffered for my sins. Never again.
Anyhow, my story is that I was diagnosed Type 2 about 12 years ago and was able to control the blood sugar with diet and exercise for about 8 years. Then, I guess my excess weight caused it to escalate and I've been on Metformin for the past four years and recently, my doctor added Gliclizide (sp). I'm also taking thyroid meds and Altase. I feel like a walking pharmacy.
I've been going to Curves since this time last year and in the first six months lost about 6 lb but since last November, I have gained back 10. WHen a person is over 100 lb overweight, even 10 extra pounds can have a devastating effect. With me, in combination with springtime allergies, it has caused breathing problems which have prevented me from going to Curves or doing much of anything else. My doc gave me an inhaler thingy because he thought I might have allergy related asthma but, so far, it hasn't seemed to help. I just know it's the extra pounds. It seems that once I get over 275, I begin to get very winded.
Anyhow, sorry for the novel here. Just wanted to introduce myself and tell you a bit about me. BTW, I'm 63, married with two grown up daughters. One has two post teen sons and the other has a 2 1/2 yr old daughter.
I have a large garden which keeps me busy but it doesn't help me lose weight. Is anyone here on a specific diet that actually works? I think I've tried 'em all, to no avail.

LINDA: I can relate to your frustrations on losing weight. They say losing helps the diabetes, but being diabetic makes it nearly impossible to lose! Add in your thyroid problems, and it probably seems futile. I too have thyroid problems, and for over six or seven years I have been struggling to lose ANYTHING. I did lose about 50 using drugs under a doctor's supervision, but my thyroid got worse, and I had surgery and I am back losing 30 of the same dang pounds. Sugarbusters has worked well for me, though slow. As my insulin resistance got worse and worse, it got impossible to lose anything, but at least I was not gaining. I was diagnosed with type 2 a couple months ago and have focused on getting my sugars under control. The doctor started me on glimeperide, which is a sulfonylurea and causes weight gain. Grr. I am now on Metformin as well, and started Byetta last Tuesday. The Byetta has done amazing things to my sugar levels and I have actually lost about 5 pounds since Tuesday! I am very encouraged about it. I exercise a lot, and really stick to Sugarbusters carefully... I think there are a number of good diets that will work. Weight Watchers Core, Sugarbusters, South Beach, even Atkins. The most important thing is to pick one you can live with, and stick to it. Also, exercise is really important. Even if you just walk 30 minutes a day. If you can't do Curves can you go to a mall and walk in the air conditioning? Even slow, strolling really helps my glucose levels. Or how about water aerobics? I have a pool and its been so awesome to hop in the pool and 'water jog' for 30 minutes. It just is so effortless, and there is no wear and tear on the joints. Hang in there...keep in mind if you at least stay the same, you are not gaining. Stick around, ok? Maybe we can help each other get this stuff figured out!

Hello everybody . . . Just had my post almost finished and then I spilled water on my escape key . . . goodbye post . . . so here we go again. :p
Nova Scotia is still rainy, warm, and humid. :( At least I'm still keeping the migraine at bay with lots of little naps. :) The weather is supposed to continue like this into Wednesday and boy it is getting tiresome. :(
ROSEY . . . Glad to hear you had so much fun shopping. You know, I think we all feel like everybody is always judging us when, in fact, most people have too many concerns of their own to even think about us. Don't worry about it, kid . . . just enjoy. Wow, the mental picture of you doing wheelies in Walmart certainly helps to lift my spirits on this dull, dull day.
JOSIAN . . . Congratulations on getting cool, girl. So glad to hear that Skye is feeling better. Bet she is enjoying the cool house at least as much as her human companions . . . maybe even more.
MONET . . . Wow, so glad the Byetta is working so well for you. Unfortunately I can't find any indication that it is available in Canada or even that it soon will be. I know that a couple of the other meds mentioned in the same article that you posted are currently under review here; but no mention of Byetta, yet. :(
LINDA . . . Here's a big welcoming  for you. Glad to have you with us. I think you will like it here. Hope we will all be seeing lots less of you, lots more often. :D
Now . . . brace yourself . . . because this is where it starts to get weird . . . I am also a Canadian. Currently in Nova Scotia although originally from Ontario. I also have two grown children (sons) and three grandchildren (two girls, one boy). I am also 63 and my birthday is February 25, 1943 (yep, I read your profile) . . . are you hearing that eerie music, too? :listen: and . . . my name is Linda.
Obviously, I'm also a type II diabetic (for about 15 years, now) and am struggling to lose weight. I take glyburide, metformin, actos, and insulin was addded to my meds about 4 years ago. I also take medication for blood pressure and cholesterol. Wow does that insulin ever do a great job of packing on the weight. Weight loss is possible, but it is slow going as you can tell by my ticker. I'm not on any special plan, just follow the CDA guidelines and then enter my choices into a self-designed Excel program that calculates calories and percentages of nutrients and also tracks my weight-loss and blood glucose controls.
Well, gang, let's see if I can get this posted this time . . . keeping fingers away from the escape key should help. Have a great afternoon/evening moving and shaking and heading in the great downward direction. Here's some :dust: to help us keep on doing the right stuff. See you soon. :carrot:

Hi everybody . . .
Surprise, surprise . . . it's raining in Nova Scotia . . . wow this is getting tiresome. I'll have to start checking around for Ark Construction Plans. :( The worst part seems to be that there is no respite from the humidity no matter how hard it rains. :(
Hi JOSIAN  . . . it's beyond weird. I think it's all the way to 'scarey'. Certainly hope my BC twin hasn't been scared away. I was looking forward to having a sister. :D
Hi ROSEY  . . . sorry you didn't get better weather for the great pick-up day. Knowing you, though, you'll be generating your own sunshine. Have a good trip and try not to laugh and cry too much.
Hi JUDY  . . . glad to see you back. Hope you had a great time and that the weigh-in is good to you on Thursday.
Hi MONET  . . . that is absolutely fantastic. So happy for you, girl. WOW.
Well, gang, guess that's it for now. Got to go get some more water to drink. I'm retaining something fierce because of all the humidity, I guess. Hope I can get rid of some of it before my WWI.
Take care and keep it moving and shaking and heading in that great downward direction. See you all later. :carrot:
