Geez, Cristi. I don't think I have been under so much stress as when I am starting a new thread. I think I am going to have a nervous breakdown!!!!
Ellen- hmmmm, devil worshipping is pretty serious huh?? :devil: Very odd child. I have known her for 4 years,she is 13 now. Just into that gothic crap and never looks you in the eyes. Stays up all night on the computer and sleeps all day. Just sad. You're right though her mother needs to get off her arse and take care of her child. I have my plate full!!!! ugh,,,,I can't save the world, I just can't....*sniff*
Dang- I forgot what else you wrote. I guess I will have to go back and read it again.
THANKS Cristi!!! I was about to go get Rach taking what she said as truth about her "getting it" and she was all ready to come on home. lol Anyway, I called her dad and said be prepared for sobbing.

I have to agree with Cristi on that one, they know when to spill the tears, tears didn't have much effect on her when you were shedding them over her did they. She is where she needs to be, she put herself there, and now she must earn the privilege and respect to be in your home, your family and her community. Of course its heart wrenching to have a child in this situation, you did all you could to get her out of it, and her choices got her where she is. I know she is a sweet girl, and a good girl , just lost her way. Please don't give in Susan or you will regret it, she will have manipulated the situation to her advantage and that will be the beginning of the end for all of you. She has learned some tricks along the way don't kid yourself, be very wary of the tears and promises of good behaviour, they will only last as long as the conversation does. Whats 3 weeks compared to the rest of her life ,nothing, she will survive and hopefully come out a better person. Please don't think I am being harsh, I just want you to have a close :hug: wonderful family and relationship with your daughter in future.:hug: ok no more sermon,:hug: That sandwhich sounded so good, all this food talking and smelling is really making hungry :lol: whats on the Weekend agenda for you. Kathy - I know you have horses, but why are they having breakfast in the house, lol. Sheesh, I thought I pampered MY pets! Katie is sad about leaving WDW, but excited to be coming home.

Ginny - we tried a planned chat, but it didn't seem to work out. We can try it again, if you want. I tend to be better on the phone that in the chat room, lol.

Jules - so sorry about your 2 friends. I hope they each turn out ok.

Susan - you little stinker, lol. I took your food porn reference outta the greeting, lol. About the friend, I think you are absolutely right! Let the other mom worry about that kid, and just keep doing the right thing as you have been, with Rach. Uh.... aren't you a little old to be going to camp? Or is this "Matchmaker Camp", lol?

Cristina - Yay for doing IF! You're doing great, Crisiti. :yes: The book I'm reading right now is an old one that they made a mini-series of called North and South by John Jakes. I want to see the movie once I'm done with the book.

Marti - hiya! Enjoy the sun. Btw, if I can get a pic of a cardinal at my birdfeeder, I'm post it for you, ok? They usually don't stay long, but I've got my camera handy, just in case.

Got my teeth cleaned today. Then I ran errands. Bought Neal new tightie whities and t-shirts. Twelve of each. Now, getting him to give up the old ones will be hard. For those who will say - just get in his drawer and get them - I have never been in his drawers. Well, not THOSE drawers, lol. Seriously, we don't mess in each other's stuff. He's only been in my purse maybe once or twice in nearly 20 years. And I've only been in his wallet once, and that was because he was on the john and I needed his credit card, lol, and the wallet was on his dresser, lol.

Can't remember who asked, Ginny? I didn't see the chiro for my feet. I have recurring back pain, I assumed stemming from a knee I twisted in a step aerobics class. The knee wasn't getting better either. I would lay off the exercise for a few days, then go back to class and get all sore again. The doc looked at my feet and said they roll in ( pronate?), so it was throwing my alignment all off...hence the orthotics.. But wait! My doc called me today and said I could use the insoles on the site I found. Yippee! A much better deal for me...let's hope they do the trick. I really hope so. I did 45 minutes of cardio today, split between the bike and the elliptical. I also walked to the post office and back ( about .75 mile) My back and knee started talkin' to me.....I am really ready for some relief.

Jane - Thanks for the tighty-whitey visual :dizzy: If others are up for chat, I can be. I kind of like it, but it's hard to get a regular time established with all the different time zones and whatnot. If we can get a good time for most ...I'm in!

HI JANE...I sealed it with a product that actually changes the colour of the grout as well as seals it, some grouts have sealer in them already , and then you can seal with a clear sealer which is what you might want to do .If I remember your grout is dark anyways right, so you wouldn't have the problem of staining. My grout was a light sand colour and it stained badly ,I bleached it frequently and used a brush to clean them but after 5 years some place just started to look dingy. If you want to check with your tile installer that's probably a good idea anyway just to be on the safe side, tiles are a big investment. Yay another positive on the rug. Jane here's an idea every time one goes into the wash , in the garbage they go , and a new one goes in its place , 12 loads of laundry should go by quick :lol: 12 in 12 out :lol: and you stay out of his drawers young lady :lol: Wow when I was still married my then husband ordered me to lay out his clothes ie: underwear socks etc. yuck crappy memories :lol:

HI KATY....Almost missed you up there. Did you tell her that's where Ellen lives with all her kitties :lol: which insoles did you find, I hope they do the trick for you, keep in mind the walk fit if they don't work out , my feet turned in to and these insoles have helped me a lot.

Busy day today, but then so many of them are! But I did do my Curves workout, hitting it for the third time this week. It gives me so much energy! I'll just be glad when I can SEE the difference in myself, but I know it is too early yet.

Well, I can't seem to get much typed tonight as one of my kitties is being very demanding about being petted! Hope you are all having a good night!

Okay, was going to chat for a few minutes but got side tracked so will have to be back tomorrow morning. Still don't know what I am wearing to the wedding!

No, not seeing Benchwarmer yet Katy. That was the plan but that was MY plan and it never happens the way I want it too. No one to watch Gaby and I was thinking of just taking her with but she fell asleep after her 1/4lb hot dog and slurpee from 7-11. What a dinner, I am such a good mommy. It is good though, I had the same thing.
So, Doug went to a meeting and my mother said she couldn't.....so *&%$#. Beck went to her friends house(I drove her....it is like 2 min away - lol) and promises not to go to the community center, she is suppose to call me. I came back to Dougs because he has the computer and 2 other girls show up looking for Beck. I told them where she was at and they walked over. One girl is cute but stupid. Is that mean? She is a bubble brain. I think she is a Lip Gloss worshiper and watches too much 3's Company. She reminds me of Chrissy Snow. I told her to have Becky call me and she just giggled..&^%$#@#......ugh.
It is a camp that the fire dept, police and the housing agency do Jane. They provide the staff for the camp. It is mainly low income city children that otherwise wouldn't have a chance to go and spend time in the out doors. I voluteered last year but had all that court stuff happening, and I think Rocky decided to visit. Anyway, that is what the camp is about.
Ellen- Thanks. It is hard though. I wouldn't give in to her but it is still stressful with Rach.
Kim- I always put the kitty in the bedroom when I get home. He always gets in my way and I trip. lol.......I let him out though after I have a minute to unwind.

Ellen, I can't help being so late in the evening,,,I finish a show and race home to be with you...and the other Ladies. I was given some flowers tonight,,,normally the stage managers never get flowers,,,but tonight I was actually called onto the stage,,,Being that I just spent 3 hours in a dark room, being on the stage with bright lights about blinded me...I don't like bright lights. I felt like a mole,,,trying to see. Pretty flowers,,,nice spring like.

Susan,,,I laughed over the Crissy Snow,,,there was a kid that Brandon worked with named Tyler, OMG he had to have been the female version of Crissy without teh lip gloss. I once drove him home after work,,,he was sitting in the back, Brandon riding shot gun. I looked into the rearview mirror and asked him what his name was,,,*silence. I then asked again,,,*silence Finally Brandon goes,,,his name is Tyler,,, Tyler then says,,,oh I thought you were talking to Brandon...umm ya man Im craving a cuke sandwich,,,i always buy long english and hummis,,,man I want some hummis and cukes, ok Ill just take a cuke...

Katy, $45. is cheeeap. We already know we have to buy new inserts for after Brandon has surgery. Oh Joy...

Jane,,,Im pretty shocked to be saying no too,,,happy though,,,relief,,,world off my shoulders. Did mention I would love to be an audience member...and can't wait to support all my friends. And occassionly usher for a show...great way to get to watch it without paying...lol

Jules, Im sorry about your friends...they both sound like they have a good attitude though. My birth father had 3 toes done Christmas last year. There is some statsic saying that many people don't even know they are diabetic. Untill its too late,,,they need meds or worse as your friend drastic measures are done. A simple blood test will give you a heads up that you need to shape up with the eating and not become dependant on insulin. My sister Ruby is seriously dependant,, two shots a day,,,but she is juvenile diabetic. Didn't know till her late teens. She doesn't take care of herself,,,has been in the hospital many times,,,two kids...and her attitude is,,its her life to live. And if its short it was ment to be...I am well if you eat healthier it will be a longer ment to be life! duh Whatever I can't as Susan say save the world...
how are your eyes? Mine aren't puffy any longer,,,not sure what is working,,,since i started to take everything I have in the house,,,even the expired stuff...lol I took one that makes you drowsy thinking my friend Rachel would be picking me up to go to the show...ya,,,no. I drove there,,,almost nodded off during the show.

Christina,,,that must be a relief with your decision. Im happy for you. My house isn't all that much bigger,,,, 1350 square feet. with the basement now done its 2000. Miss Skittles wants to sit in my lap,,,poor dog haven't seen her in days it seems. I want to go shopping,,,not sure for what,,,but feel the need to shop! Have yet to find my brown sandals... I have this flirty skirt,,,its olive colored with cream and brown flowers on it. I wear it with a very racy brown lacy top. Need sandals. In the winter I wear it with a brown sweater and boots. But summer it needs sandals.

I have so much to do tomorrow,,, I said no to the Oklahoma play but said yes to some emergency sewing for a play called Eve. Have that to do tomorrow,,,but I also have turbins to make,,,arghh starting to hate turbins! My friend Steffanie is coming over to help out since i have to machines....
but need to buy groceries sometime tomorrow,,,no fud in the house...scary.
I giggled the other night went to see Beauty,,,and a friend whos in the play HAIR came up to me and asked when I would be bringing by the joints. Of course I did the double wHHHHHHHHAT? Joints? I then of course hammed it up and said that its been 20 years and I did do rehab....ha ha ha nah I guess everyone is under the impression Im their props person...lol Im not! really...lol I lent them my pregnancy belly I made for another play. So tonight I was telling someone about this,,,laughing cause ya Child Welfare will be called,,,no food in the house,,,but there I am rolling oregano into joints for a play...righhhhtt! What I do for the arts!
I wish Becky would of joined by now,,,,she is going through some major stuff and i know she has the weight of the world on her right now...I feel so bad for her, and I don't know if Im helping. Offered to get her totally drunk...

Chris, I'm glad you are finally decided on keeping your house. Just glad the pressure is off you. Now you can relax and destress.:carrot:

Not sure who was talking about insurance with me, but 250 deductible, boy how lucky can you get, I bet it's through work too, right? Being self employed we have to pay all of our own insurance. To keep the premium down we have a 2000 deductible, and a 2000 co pay deductible. Occasionally we do reach it then insurance covers everything, but to do that we have to see a lot of doctors and get lots of medical care.. which means we are either sick or injured. So it's a no win situation. Even with the high deductible we still have to pay 1000 a month for our premium and in June that will go up.. and we don't even have dental or vision... insurance sucks.....oh we have Blue cross too...

Angie, I too have to get some food in the house. Have to work it in tomorrow morning before work. I open at noon on Sunday so I have to do it first thing.
I have been really good with eating though. I am down another pound..:goodscale who hooooo, and I ride every night.:ebike: so it's working.

A little bunny rabbit just hopped by my window. They are so cute. Reminds me of Ellen's clip art...

Susan, hang in there. The 22 days will be over before you know it, and hopefully Rachel will be her old sweet self again. She needs to learn what is and isn't acceptable in our society, and her actions lately certainly aren't.
I know it's hard to have them crying to you. But be strong. It will all be worth it in the end...

Jules so sorry about your two friends.:sorry: But on the bright side they are both getting the care they need and will soon be on the road to healthy lives again. My dad had diabetis, can't spell it.. but he got adult onset, didn't know until he went into a coma.. he ended up dying of gangrene, started with a small sore on his toe...but he was 82 and had many other problems so they didn't amputate and it spread...I was only 20 when I lost him. Only one of my brothers had diabetes. When I had all big babies they told me I may be prone to get it, so I am tested regularyly and am very careful. A lady at work just had to go onto insulin, but she eats really wierd so can see where her insulin would be unbalanced.

Well, not much else to write about this morning.:comp: IT's cloudy and they are calling for rain tonight and tomorrow. wonderful... (being sarcastic here).

I used to watch 3's company too. I didn't think anyone could really be that stupid like Chrissy Snow was.. but I guess I was wrong..

Good Morning Ladies...

It is so ugly and gloomy! Not a good day for a wedding. I always heard that it is bad luck if it rains on your wedding day. :dunno: Almost didn't get up and go for my walk. I laid in bed for about 30 mns. trying to talk myself into getting up. "You need to do it. No, I can do it later, maybe tonight. What if it rains? Okay, just get up and do it!" And I did, lol! And...I feel better for doing it as always. It's just I am NOT a morning person. I say that but lately I haven't been able to sleep past 8, or 8:30. Hope I don't fall alseep at the wedding. Now I really don't know what to wear because I had planned on wearing sandals. But with the weather what it is I need my feet covered! :rain: Anywho...

My chiro called me that once and I shot him a look, which I didn't think was a bad one. Apparently it was because he never called me that again, lol. SUSAN...I think the camp is a great thing! Funny about the girl who acts likes Chrissy Snow! Bet she is cute though, maybe minus the lipgloss. Darn, I was hoping you were going to see Benchwarmers...wanted to know if it was good. I wanted to see it when V and I went to the show but figured he would rather see something with some action, which we still didn't see, lol! Saw the one with Denzel and Jody what's her name...I've drawn a blank. Anyway, it was pretty boring. 7/11 DOES have good hotdogs! :T When we lived in CA, once in a while we would get their chili-dogs...omg! DELICIOUS! Try and have a good, stress-less weekend.

ELLEN...I told V you were egging me on with redecorating, lol! He laughed. Told him you were doing your house and he can't wait to see pictures too! When you shared your beautiful Christmas pictures I HAD to show everyone how gorgeous it was, and they agreed. You are pretty talented there missy. I too love to smell the bbq. Figure, weather permitting of course, we will do a little bit when Josh comes home. Know he is going to want to fill up on some good food before he leaves. Of course I want to get a new grill though. We have one that uses briquets and it is a pain. I think I would BBQ a lot more if we got a gas one. We found one we like but are still thinking about it. The puppies are soooo cute! I want another one.

ANGIE...you tire me out woman! You always make me think of that Helen Reddy song I Am Woman, I am invincible...that and the energizer bunny....you keep going, and going, and going and going....glad your got some purdy flowers! You deserve them and more missy! And yes we are relived to finally make a decision about the house. I swear it was like everything was put on hold and I hated that feeling. Now we don't have to worry about it, thank goodness.

JANE... I have always called tighty whities 'bun huggers'! Don't know why...never heard the term tighty whities until I moved here. That's funny you have never been in Neal's drawers. Does that mean he puts his own clothes away? I am always in V's drawers, lol! I've gotten in his wallet, etc. he has nothing to hid and doesn't mind. But the funny thing is...he will not get into my purse, not even if I tell him to. I don't mess with his stuff per se but I do do the laundry and put the clothes away. Anyway...you reminded me that I NEED to ge tmy teeth cleaned! UGH! Hate the dentisit!

KATY...that's good that you don't have to cut out all your exercise.

KIMBERLY...I just joined a place called it Figures which is just like Curves and I am loving it! Also, feeling so much more energized. it really is a good feeling. I forgot to measure when I joined, and when I did my WI Monday but will makes sure and do it this Monday when I WI.

MARTI...wishing we had your weather here. Supposed to only get up to 55 today. It isn't really bad, but with the wind blowing and the rain...makes for an ugly, cool day.

I had a bacon,egg from McDonalds,,,,,,for breakfast.

I have the $250 deduct Ginny. Through work, through Kaiser. They allow 26 days of in treatment every 2 years per person.She was at the one for 3 days , cost $2000 there, before I took her out.I said this before but the one she is in now is $3000 a day. Thank goodness for insurance. I think I pay around $180 for all 4 of us a month , plus dental - with $10 co pays.

Gaby and I are heading for the zoo!! She wants to see the wolves first.

Summer (aka Chrissy Snow ) came back after an hour and said she couldn't find the place. I go "omg, you been looking the whole time??" She said no she had been doing other things and laughed. Scary. So, I gave directions again - it is only like 2 blocks away and she had been there before - duh.

Katy - YAY for all the exercise. Also Yay for the doc's approval of the cheap insoles. Always something to be thankful for, right?

Ellen - I only have tiles around the sinks in the kitchen and each bath. Also the soaker tub, and the grout is light. I think Angie is the one with dark grout. Loved the puppies pic.

Susan - I'll babysit the Gabster for ya while you go see the movie, lol. OIC about the camp. What a good idea!

Angie - awww, so sweet that they gave you flowers onstage. Lord knows you deserve them! Be careful rolling the js, though.

Cristina - Neal doesn't have anything to hide, either, lol. Yep, he puts away his own fresh underwear, hankies and sox. I lay them on the bed, and he puts them where he wants them. I do hang up his stuff in the closet, though. I'm an early riser, I guess. If I sleep in past 7AM, I feel terrible. What did you decide to wear to the wedding?

I've been sitting paying bills. The thing is, we don't have many regular ones - not even a mortgage, but the extra ones are all due soon. Health Ins, life ins, property taxes and property insurance. YIKES!!

Today the weather is gloomy and looks like it's going to rain at any moment. We do need some rain, but I wish the temps would go back up soon.

My cousin's viewing is tomorrow and the funeral is Monday. I doubt that I'll go to the actual funeral.

I need a snack - gonna go fix a bowl of cereal.

Another pretty day, still a little cool, but its just so beautiful out. I haven't done much yet , fed my kitties , changed the litter the usual, didn't have to make coffee this morning my Sweet Son came with Tim's for me :D then he went off to work. He's so busy this year he is stressed to the point of making himself sick, his cousin went into partnership with him for one of the businesses and has bailed on him most of this year, my son has sold close to a 100 thousand in business so far and he is doing all the design work , all the sales and most of the installations himself , his other partner is a sweet 100 lb girl who is partners in his design business and she isn't capable of doing the hard labour involved in installations, but God love her she tries to help him all she can. Hello everyone.

It's a lonely weekend for me. So that means cleaning. Never ends does it. Not a lot to do, just needs doing!

Our weather is so beautiful! Yesterday it got up to the 80's. Nice, but seems so unusual! My dogs are shedding like crazy! Which is why I feel I need to do some house cleaning.

Would do individuals, but just so much to catch up on.

I think I'm going to cut some more lilacs and stick on my table....so off I go!

Ellen - Think I am picking on Summer/ Chrissy?? lol I would have drawn her a map but do you think she knows directions? Probably end up at Katy's house, or Canada. I just told her to look for girls in the front bedroom window, can't miss the house. She cuts her won hair and cut Beckys too the other day. Kind of this butchered layered look. lol

Jane - They have been doing the camp for 12 years or so. My fave MM has been attending them all, he is in charge of the campfire. Even though he has no children he must like kids, right? I think so.

Gaby and I just got back from the zoo, we spent 5 hours there, left when it started to sprinkle. It was a nice day, went at Gaby's pace. She stayed the longest at the penguins and the farm where you could pet goats. Learned that they look for teen volunteers and think Rach would be perfect picking up goat droppings. I always told her to aim high!!! haha. Very wholesome girls that were working there. They can also work in the Butterfly exhibit. Anyway, going to hook her up to volunteer somewhere this summer. Have her & Becky signed up for an OMSI /Salmon camp up in the Washington Is this summer.

Speaking of Rach her father spoke with her earlier today and he said she seemed better. Her latest thing is she thinks it would be great to be out for Mothers Day on the 9th. ahhhhh, she is so thoughtful.

Anyway, going to get chow mein at Pandas Express for dinner.

my friend/coworker is so funny her sister and one of her best friends made the comment that they had thought that she was diabetic and she replied back to them "so why did you two keep giving me candy and desserts" She is actually doing well now that the surgery is over though they haven't got her up to walk around yet--after she goes home she will have to come back for a skin graft

the other male friend--gets his reconstructive surgery Monday--he is so ready to come home--he is the kind of person that needs to be doing something constantly--he's very good at home improvement

I was suprised how many people have said that they have diatbetes at work and here there are the post of relatives. My DD has had migranes since she was 10 (my Mom and I didn't start until our 30's though I have always had headaches)and they ran several tests and one showed that her sugar(?) was not quite right though not diabetes but there may be some potential for it especially when both sides of my family including my Dad and both sides of DH's including his Mom have it.

DD's divorce hearing is May 25th at 3:00. I am taking off the whole day to be with her, DH is taking off half a day to go, her new best friend from college is going,her best friend since eigth grade is coming and DS's girlfriend will be there--DS said that he would take off but she told him to just come home after work to be there for her

All this talk of Chrissy Snow reminds me of DD's friend Misty--she is 4"11' and less than 100 pounds and total airhead even has a loud funny laugh, she's 20 and still the person she wants to be is Britney Spears and she can't seem to keep a job for long. She currently works at a chain store in the mall called DEB's. The bets are being taken on how long this one will last.

Well off to Walmart and then we are supposed to go on a motorcycle ride with some friends.

DH and DS spent Fri. night at the school for Bookbaggers ( literacy games and activities along with a sleepover). I didn't sleep so great, so we were all dragging yesterday. I manage to get to the grocery store and clean up a little, then bleah. I did re-start my challenge successfully yesterday. Only 20 more days to go!

We (I) decided that turning off the TV was a pretty good thing; so we (I) said we are cutting it out weekdays - forever! (snicker) I wasn't that dramatic, but I really enjoyed having it off. My parents ditched the TV when I was a kid, so I grew up without it and I never have been comfortable with it on all the time. The kids were ok with it as long as they still get some computer time. Of course, all bets are off if someone gets sick or we are snowed in, lol!

It is another wonderful day in the life of me. *hahaha

Gaby tried to wake me up for the longest time but I just wanted to lay in bed.I kept falling asleep and she kept waking me up. Finally she said "I am going to call the police on my walkie/talkie"......and she started jabbering to the police how her mommy wouldn't get out of bed - lol .

I stayed up late watching Bounce with Paltrow/Affleck.

I made scrambled eggs for breakfast.

There , that is my update. I just have to clean out the fish tank today and mop my floors. Thinking of taking Gaby up to the Rose Garden park, so nice up there and the play area keeps her busy. Beck is leaving for the mall with her friends.

Thought I would pop in really quick to see how you are all doing. I got up early. Managed to get two loads of laundry done, a shower taken, some blueberry muffins made....all before noon!:D

I'm going to REALLY enjoy having an earlier shift at work!

Ellen--I'm hearing lawnmowers mowing too! I would love to mow today, but James wants to put some weed killer on the front lawn, and says not to mow. So I guess I'll have to look at my shaggy yard for another day or so. As for Susans time....it shows noon for me, so I'm assuming it's set for our time zones. Right now it's five minutes to 1:00. What does your time say?? (will give me an idea as to the time difference...about 3 or 2 hrs??)

Susan--Silly Gaby....did that little talk to the police get you up?:D I'm ready for a zoo trip! I'm wanting to go sometime this summer w/Jhanai if she's up for it. That or the coast. Must do the coast more than once this summer. I love the coast and florence is only an hour from here, so there is no excuses...just must go!

Katy--I didn't get a whole lot of cleaning in. Just the kitchen and the floors. That is what was needed most. Saved laundry for today. I love having NO TV days!! If there is something I want to watch, I just record it. And w/this weather, I plan on watching less of it!

Jules--What a great family your DD has! Having you and your DH there w/her during her divorce procedure has got to be reassuring. Wish my family was that close.

Jane--Lets trade bills!:D I wish I didn't have a lot of bills to pay each month. But we are trying to get it all down. We just got our taxes back the other day. Time to get some of these trailing bills (ones that could be totally paid off) paid for!!

Cristina--How is the weather for you today?? We have a beautiful sunshine going but the wind is very cold. That or I'm just a big whoos!:dizzy: Now as for raining on your wedding day, I heard the opposite. I heard it was good luck. Wonder what it really is??

Ginny--I'm sure I've asked this before, and you probably answered....you live in the country?? I want to see little bunnies hopping in my yard, a turkey gobbling along, some deer grazing on my lawn, raccoons getting in my trash....:D Used to see all that when I lived up on the mountain!! Miss it!!

Hello ladies,

Marti, Yes, I live in the country, about 7 miles out of a small town. But I live on a road with a couple other homes and a new development just a short distance away. We have about 70 acres, we own almost all the land on one side of the road. Used to have 80 acres but had to sell some off to the state a while back cause they put a freeway in. I live between a freeway and a highway. I also live right across from a small inland lake so there is a lot of wildlife around. Swans, ducks, geese, frogs, turtles, otters, beavers you get the picture. The bunnies and squirrels and turkeys and deer used to stay away from our yard because we always had dogs, but since they are no longer around, the animals are getting braver and braver. I enjoy watching them..also have a lot of birds, cardinals, orioles, bluebirds, bluejays, woodpeckers, even an osprey has a nest in our woods. I enjoy being in the country.

One of my friends lost her dh a couple nights ago. He had emphysema, lymphoma and heart problems. They were so sure he was going to be treated and able to come home when he went in for testing 3 weeks ago. He did come home, but died that evening. So tomorrow evening we are going to the viewing. Things usually happen in 3's so now we wait. Our last trio of events was last winter. I lost a bil and a niece (59) and dh lost a niece (37).

It is raining out, it was cold and windy and gloomy/cloudy all day. Sure hope they are wrong and it doesn't stay this way all week.

Well, I am tired. So think I'll go up and ride my bike then relax for a bit and turn in early.
Oh yes, CHRISTINA, sorry to shorten your name.. I know quite a few Christines and all but one go by Chris... the other goes by Christy. I have quite a number of nicknames.. I don't really care what people call me, as long as they do..:)

Good evening ladies!

It's been a rough weekend here. Though not for me directly but for two very close friends. One, who I've been friends with since high school (she's 38) is getting ready to go through her second bout of cancer (on her tongue of all places) so she'll be having more surgery and this time chemo and radiation. My other friend's husband left her Friday for someone else. She, of course, has been an absolute mess and is still very much in the denial stage. I had her and our other close friend over for dinner last night and all the poor thing did was cry. By the time she left, I had to cry as I just felt so terrible for her!

But anyway...someone asked about Curves. I'm going three times a week, which is what they recommend. The energy I have from it is incredible and I think I have already lost some inches but won't know for another week or two.

Hi Marti ~ The weather was beautiful today in Oregon! I'm not doing WW, but I have thought about it, but can't afford it. I've just been counting calories online and exercising with WATP. Last year when my sister was doing LA Weightloss, I copied her plan and I did lose quite a bit of weight, but it seemed a little restrictive on certain foods, especially oatmeal, and I have to get my oatmeal every morning; I actually crave it, and it's helped me to lower my cholesterol from 239 to 214 so far. I guess LA has changed it's plan now, but I like to eat a little of everything, just in moderation; how about you ~ what plan do you use? I hope you're enjoying your weekend.:hug:

Beck and I went to McDonalds tonight and both picked the new Asian salad. It is very good but I don't like the dressing that came with, kind of salty. I ate it though. I eat everything - lol

Well, I've made a discovery, bread is bad for me.:nono: I made some french bread last night and ate two small pieces.. but the scale is up &$^%^ pound today.:tantrum: Any returning pounds are frowned upon. Even if I'm not really in on the challenge I'll take the last ribbon for the day. That is cute you naming the piggies..:ink: when we were first married we raised pigs. We had a little runt that we had to hand feed and we kept it in the house for a couple weeks to give it a better chance. Her name was Petunia... our son was only about 9-10 months at the time and this silly pig when let out of her box would follow him around the house. Him in his walker being followed by this tiny little piglet.. it was adorable. Wish I would have had a movie camera.

Marti, yes it's a lot of land. On it we have two houses, a large barn, 16 greenhouses including my retail center, a couple ponds and the rest is either woods or orchards. We used to grow sweet and sour cherries, peaches and plums. But it was just to much for us to handle along with the greenhouses so we let the orchards go. But most of the trees are still standing. All the boys have favorite parcels of the land and some of them intend to build on it.
But I love being out in the country. The most chilling thing about it though is in the summer you can hear the coyotes howling in the woods... I hate that sound..they are timid and you don't usually see them but they are out there.
A few bears have been spotted also.

It is another gloomy rainy day.:rain: I'm sure business will be slow. I am taking some book work with me:write: , at least I'll get some of it done. Some I can only do in the office as I need the computer. :comp:

Having my strawberry oatmeal right now.:hun: I love oatmeal and don't see why a diet wouldn't allow it.

Today my fundraisers start. Of the three only one really did very good. One is an eighth grade class of a local school. It has 46 students in the class, and only 13 sold anything. These kids are not motivated at all. Then there is the soccer organization, there is over 300 kids and most of them sold something. So that is a nice big sale for us. It brings people in and that is the whole point of it from our view. And it helps kids raise money..so it works out well.

Angie, what will you do this summer with no turbins to have to make. I forget but you don't work outside the home do you? Sounds like this custome sewing is a full time job on it's own.

Ellen, I hope you haven't forgotten me..I loved what you found so far. And your humorist post are very entertaining.

Marti, that little bunny is back, This time he is in my flowerbed. He won't be so cute if he decides to nibble while he is there. He knows I am watching him, he is sitting as still as a statue.. silly rabbit, I know I don't have any statues in that flowerbed..

It must be the weather, but I am quite down today. We haven't had any sunshine in the past few days. I need some sunshine.:sunny:

Well, can't think of anything else to say for now. So I will be checking in later this evening to see how the big WI went. I won't be able to ride my bike :ebike: tonight as we have to go to the funeral parlor. I don't like to ride to late, it makes my asthma act up and then it's hard for me to sleep.. as was the case last night. Must have picked up some more allergies as it's been acting up a lot lately. Funny how we can become allergic to things when we are older that we have been around all our lives and never were bothered by before.

Happy Weigh-in Monday...I dared to get on the scale and - no change. Stubbornly sticking at 181. As we say in these parts - carp. ( That's the faux word for crap....we have young children - don't ask)

I finished my class - yay! nice to have that one done. Today I clean house. Such an exciting life :O

Ginny - I never had allergies, hay fever has been creeping up on me over the last few years. This year I started taking Claritin and it has helped.

Ellen - I have Tae-bo tapes. I like him, but get bored doing the same thing all the time. Those tapes are good when I'm cooped up indoors and need to get some exercise.

Michelle - Our weather has been great! I'm hoping it holds because I need to clean-up the yard. Have to get ready for a load of dairy compost to mulch the beds.


Ok - I've reported for weigh-in...Sure hope everyone else has better news than me, lol!

Susan...no food porn while I am trying to be good!! Though Ellen wants me to follow your food plan...guess I'll be stopping at 7-11 tonight for a slurpee and a 1/4 lb hotdog.....j/k!! Whatever you are doing is working. All the stress from the teenagers must have your blood pressure up making your metabolism higher worrying about what they will do next. I am glad my DS finally outgrew that stage (he once pulled a fire alarm in school so he would get out of the next class--he never got caught though he was questionned) He ended up quitting school before they kicked him out--a decision which he regretted before the six month wait period to take the GED test was over. Luckily he got into the electrical field. Boy, I could tell you some tales about his teenage years... Now it's DD who always got good grades, worked from 15 1/2 and never got into any trouble is now not making the best decisions - nothing too over the top but just not herself. I am hoping after the divorce is final she can get back to usual. She did take off her rings about a month ago and asked the ex to stop calling her-that "trying to stay friends while going through a divorce is totally over rated". That's a little of the spunk I am used to.
