Default Made it to 50lb!!

I weighed in last week (Sat) and had only lost .6lbs for that week. I was so upset and mad. I was still mad this week and even broke down in tears. My husband had to talk to me and make me feel better and remind me that he has had times he didn't lose and times he has gained. I just have to stick to it. I am not saying I was ready to quit but I was so upset. (Tears prob mainly because of TOM) Anyways... I weighed today, even though our official weigh in is not until Sat. I lost 2.2lbs so far. Lets just hope that it will stay off. I am so happy I am now at 273. Haven't weighed that since '99!!! Just needed to vent a little on the not losing part. I am in such a better mood now. Also someone today told me I was hot! Even though it came from a teenager it made my day!!

I should also add that my husband has now lost 40lbs. So proud of him!!

Default Congrats Ladies

Nicholyn and Alwaysbelieve on your 50 lbs. weight loss.

I'm fairly new to the 3FC boards and will be joining weight watchers soon.

I've been dieting off and on since probably 18 yrs. old. and I'm 54 now. But, as they say it's never to late.

Can you give an old gal some ideas or tips on how you mangaged to accomplish this 50 lb. goal so far.

Bye for now

Thanks everyone!!!

Elaine1951- We started eating alot healthier. I was such a cheese and pasta lover. (Pasta always had to have sausage in the sauce Man I miss that!) Now we use ground turkey we found at Wal-Mart that only has 1g of fat in it for 4oz. In '99 my Dr. put me on a diet that consisted of no more that 25g of fat a day. It worked for a while then I went back to the old ways. Now it is a lot easier to find low fat and fat free stuff. We also watch our calorie intake but focus mainly on the fat intake. A lot of people preach to me about the fat free stuff having more calories in it so that is just as bad. We know this and that is why we just don't pig out on them. But obviously it has worked for us this time.

I know people will probably say that this is cheating but we also have been taking Mega-T green tea diet pills. They are all natural. It has helped. It helps to speed up your metabolism and help with cravings. Not sure how much of it is the eating better and exercising as it is the pills. I think that they seem to be helping some. My husband didn't take them for a week and didn't lose anything and then he started taking them again and he lost 3lb for that week. Not too bad.

That is all we are doing. It works for us but not for all. My mom tried to do the low-fat diet and she had problems with it and couldn't do it. This time something just clicked and we said no more and have stuck to it this time. Good luck

Thanks again everyone!!! About trying to lift 50lbs, that is like going to the grocery store and trying to carry around 5 bags of potatoes! I do feel lighter but dang, that is a lot. Still have 25 to go to realistic goal and about 75 for the ultimate goal. Long road ahead of me.

Jtjoray- Congrats on almost being there. It will happen soon! Gorgeous picture of you buy the way.

Yes I like doing the lifting thing too! When I am walking and it gets hard going up the hills, I picture myself throwing off 32 pounds worth of weights and realize that is how much less I am now carrying than before... so figure if I could do it then I can do it now LOL
