oh gawd Susan,,,,can't have us melting! So why did Rochelle pull the fire alarm? Is she being a middle child?
Ellen, love the poem...going to have to print that one.
Well its close to midnight,,,I get to sleep in! Im excited,,,Tanner is off at band camp *fingers crossed* he stays away from the flute players.
Tonights show was good,,,I think I may have the magicians rope trick figured out. I had a really awesome compliment tonight, a singer that Ive never met before was struggling with her hair,,I asked her if I could help...she asked if I was a professional hair dresser,,,nope I sell beer I tell her. Well she didn't want me doing her hair...lol go figure right? So anyways a couple of ladies I have worked with before come into the room,,,got excited asking if I had time to just give them the finishing touches. Sure...so we are all talking and one of them asked me if last years show Iolanthe would go down as my hairiest play...the singer turns to me asks if I was in it...no I designed, made and did each fairies hair, makeup and wings. She freaked,,,said it was her favorite play cause of how each woman looked so totally different. I made her BEG to do her hair...lol I don't blame her for not wanting me to do her hair,,,I look spooky,,,went there with wet hair so its all frizzy and no makeup,,,my eyes are so itchy no point in putting anything on it.
Well better get to bed,,,any plans for tomorrow?

Good Morning Ladies....
It was my early day today and no Jhanai this weekend. :( She decided that she wanted to help out a girl and babysit while she moved. Very sweet of her so I can't be too sad about it.
Terrible thing.....I have to wait another week until I switch my hours. Something called "lack of communication" amongst the leads. Ticked me off but what can I do?? I did have a choice, but I didn't want to look like the bad guy and have people hang their problems on me....so one more week won't kill me.
Welcome to our new comers!! Kimberly, JoAnne, and Moodymom. So happy to have you join us. Love how you just hopped right in and started chatting! That's the way I like it! You'll all fit right in.
Well girls....I thought I would be able to catch up once I got home, but you know....there is just too much right now so I'm going to get myself ready for bed so I can get up at a decent hour tomorrow morning and do some house cleaning....yep...the same ol' thing I do every weekend.
Oh...before I go. Ellen....I just love your poems, you are so talented. I think I'm going to print that last one up and hang it near my desk!
Ok...off I go.
Hugs to all and have a good night!

Good morning ladies.
Thank you all for your condolences. I appreciate them. I am missing my beloved Sassy, my other dog whom I had for 12 yrs. She was Trooper's wife. I lost her a year a half ago. So now he is gone too, I am totally pet less. And we vowed to stay that way. But I now really have the empty nest. So I have to get used to really being alone when dh is out.
Speaking of dh, today is our 34th wedding anniversary, and though I was hoping to sleep in, he awakens me at 6 am to wish me happy anniversary and relive our.....well you all get the picture I am sure.. tired as I was.. how could I refuse such an offer... well ok... good news of the day, for me is I was at my lowest this morning.. my scale must have felt sorry for me.. but I hope it keeps feeling that.. we are going out to dinner this evening, must be careful what I eat... I really want to keep on the good side of that scale.
It was raining her ,oh there is a wild turkey right in front of my office window. Its a hen. Cool, we have many turkeys around here. Anyway the sun is trying to shine. I have to go in a bit and have many errands to run this morning. I open up Monday so now they are saying it's going to cool down to the 50's next week. Can't win for losing around here.
Welcome to the new ladies.
The turkey just spotted me thru the window..she is watching me. Not sure if she should leave or not. She is finding the corn and bird seed we put out over the winter for the birds which is embedded in the yard. Well, I can't really concentrate right now, I need to get moving. Just wanted to come in and say hello and thank you all for your thoughts.
Ellen, your poem is very nice. I liked it. You ladies are all so talented in so many different ways.
Will check back in later.

Good Saturday Morning Ladies...

:woo:  :val2: :val1: :balloons: :val1: :val2:  :woo:
MARTI...that was sweet of Jhanai. I know you will miss having her this weekend though.
SUSAN...girly, you best not be eating whoppers and pizza and not sharing! WTG to your mom! Wow, 20 pounds since January is good.
ELLEN...love the poem, so cute.
SUE...glad your mom is feeling great and sounds like she is in good spirits. My neighbor, Wanda kills me watching her. She is 83, I think, can't remember now. And I swear she gets around better than me! And loves to talk, such a sweetie. WTG on the 2 miles! :bravo: But be careful with your heel and knee, don't want o make it worse.
LAKEGIRL...a big WELCOME to you! Looking forward to getting to know you! And love that one...CRC disease. Definitely going to have to use that one!
MARYANN...sorry, can't help ya there. I never have figured out how to put a picture in a post. it's bad enough trying to get one as my avatar with all the resizing I have to do.
Hi to everyone else
I've been up since 5:45! :yikes: V is home this morning and I don't normally get up that early but knew it was going to be hot later and wanted to get my walk in. So...V went with and we got in a 3 mile walk first thing and I am feeling pretty good. Also, have already downed my four bottles of water! I do believe that is a first. I usually drink two by noon and have another with a snack at 3 then one while I cook dinner. Glad that's out of the way. The last two days I have had 5 bottles so I am sure I will go for 6 today! :carrot: Anyway, need to get a load of laundry done and straighten the house. We have a 4 p.m. showing which gives me plenty of time. Unless of course the people that wanted to see it at 10 this morning show up at 3. I really wouldn't be surprised. I told them I couldn't do 10 but since we are having a showing at 4, 3-4 would be good. Well, last time I told them no and gave them a better time I never received a call to confirm it. If I wouldn't have called V I wouldn't have known they were coming. So, hoping they don't do it today because they will be turned away. I don't know what is wrong with these realtors just doing what they want to do, not showing up, showing up when they want to etc.....anywho better get going. V painted the front door red Thursday. Put two coats on it and it streaked. Well, he put another on this morning and it made it worse. So went to Lowes to get some satin paint in the same color because we got semi-gloss and realized we put a satin on before. Apparently, when we bought the paint the guy was supposed to tell us with a red color we needed a red primer first. That's nice...hoping it's all dry before four! Anyway...:blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: With all this newfound energy I have gotten chatty the last few days, lol!
Take care ladies and have a WONDERFUL weekend!

Good morning Ladies,
well while you either have heat or cloudy weather,,,I have snow.
Christina, I know that when you are painting a deep color, you need a different base coat...weird that that guy wouldn't of told you as you were buying the red. Fingers crossed that today is the day you sell.
Marti,,,so what do you plan to do without Jhania? I have no Tanner,,,Monte and Brandon are at work...Im ALONE! I was thinking of doing a bit of cleaning,,,driving over to another payless and finding a pair of brown sandles.
Sue,,,ok what did I miss,,,album? Of all your pics of the house being built? Or of DH wood creations?
Ellen,,,are you sure you don't work for some greeting card place? If not you should look into working for one...you have such creativity.
Ginny,,every person lately has been saying that they have been drinking broth before leaving for dinners out. Makes them feel full and they don't eat as much.
well I am off to do some cleaning....

Ugh, Angie...SNOW??? We get that here in Maryland of course, but I am thankful that is over for at least six months! It's raining cats and dogs here today but we needed it! Everything is now so green and the flowers are blooming....I love spring!
Today started out nice with a lie in till about 9:00 in our new king sized bed...sweet bliss, I tell ya! The kids then went with their bio-grandma for a few hours but will be home soon. The short reprieve was nice though! We're having issues with our ten year old, who is ADHD. He lies, steals, manipulates, etc. He had been doing so well for a week and then tells me a bold faced lie this morning! :nono: I know that all kids lie, but when you combine it with stealing it really gets aggravating! Yes, he's in therapy thankfully, so we're hoping for a few behavior changes one of these days!
We went to breakfast this morning and I had crepes and they were way good. I give myself a little bit of an allowence on the weekends. Mind you, I in no way go overboard, but it's nice to not be quite as rigid with the food two days a week. It's been working for me as my scale showed a six pound loss yesterday.
Hope you all are having a good day and thanks for the warm welcome! I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Good Morning,
Happy Anniversary Ginny!!:hat:
I am heading for Tyron park to take the girls for a walk in the woods. Maybe I could lose one of them there. haha. It was Becky that pulled the fire alarm at school Angie. Can you believe that? Ugh.
whoppers are those malt balls. I stole some from the easter basket of Beck last night.
I went to Freddies this morning and bought some more yummy green peppers and cottage cheese.
Thanks Cristi. I will tell my mother. She said she has another 100 to lose, she needs knee surgery and they can't do it without the weight off, she is only 61.
Congrats on the 6 pound loss LakeGirl !
I think Jhanai is just at that age Marti. Mine don't want anything to do with me, they want to hang with their friends in their teen years. Sweet of her to want to help out though. Can you have next weekend? Can visitation be more flexible as she gets older?? Just nosy..........lol
Better get. Hi Ellen!!!!! See, I said hello.....set for Mondays weigh in?? You wanna push it back another week??? lol :) I did love the poem, very talented!!

Good Afternoon Girls---
My dogs got me up about an hour ago....needing to go out and do their "duty".:D
Busy, busy thread! How will I keep up??
Ginny--Happy Anniversary to you and DH! I wish you both many more years of happiness! Ok, I take it you live in the country if you have Turkey walking around in your yard! I keep telling James...I want to buy a house in the country. I miss it! Someday......
Sue--What's the album for, some special occasion? Good luck to you on that!
Cristina--Wow...I was pretty much just getting to sleep when you were getting up! I'm so looking forward to normal sleep times. I think it's great that you got your walk in this morning. I'm hoping that I have the motivation to get my butt outdoors in the morning to either walk or bike before work. Those were my plans for next week....but as I mentioned, I have to wait another week.
(oh....would you mind passing over some of that energy my way??)
Ellen--Liking the clipart w/the round shape guy! I may need to copy and print that!! Hang it at work to remind me to get motivated and move!
Angie--I can't believe you have snow! Do you usually have snow this late in the year? My plans today are to get the house looking and smelling a little better! It just smells musty in here and I can't figure out why!! Driving me nuts. Buy me some shoes while you're out. I wear a size 61/2!!:D
Kimberly--Hello again!! King size bed?? That is a luxury! I've been telling my DH that we need to get a king size bed. He's away to work so much that I get used to having the bed all to myself...so we need to get something bigger so I still feel like I have the bed to myself when he is home....:D
Susan--I have to agree....Jhanai is at that "rather be w/friends than w/mom" stage. But that's ok. She able to come over any and every weekend. But she likes being able to spend a weekend w/her dad too. (darn that dad!) Next month she'll be w/me a lot, Mother Day weekend and all. I'll take what I can get. Plan on saving some PTO at work to have a extended weekend w/her and go to the coast and some other outdoorsy thing. Pretty soon she won't want to hang out w/me so I need to take advantage.
Hello to everyone out there.
I better get my cleaning started. I should probably start w/myself just in case someone stops by. Must look presentable!!
Hugs to all:hug:

Hi everyone,
I had every intention of doing individuals, but NO WAY can I catch up with all the chat, lol.
Cristi - so sorry about the bunny you found.
Ginny - even sorrier about Tropper, since he was your beloved pet.
We've had so much company! Everyone wants to see the house. Today I planted a few flowers in areas where the porch guys won't trample them.
Makenzie Jane is spending the night. She's my first official guest in the guest room, lol. I'll sleep in there, too, so she won't be scared.
Gotta go make like a grandma, lol.
 <--- for you! :)

Hiya ladies...
Back again for a few minutes. A little bored since there is nothing on the tellyvision. Speaking of the telly...
JANE...how do you guys like your new t.v.? We were thinking about getting one, a little bit bigger though. Not sure why V thinks he needs a BIG t.v. guess it's like men and their tools, never can have enough. :dunno: But I am fine with the little 36 in. we have. First official guest int he guest room eh? And grandmas gonna sleep with her, how sweet. She gets to try out the new beds. Hey, did you guys get to light the fireplace the other night? So romantic
MARTI...I was telling Charlotte Friday, that since I have been walking, and especially since I started going there that I have had so much energy. Friday, I had so much and the house was already clean so I had nothing to do! Went out for a couple of hours trying to find some yard work to do. I had planned on Sunday being a free day but since I didn't get any walking or exercise in on Wednesday, we will get up early and go walk again. It was really nice to get out before everyone got up to start their day. Although, we did pass a couple of people out walking. You know...Jhanai may go through that phase of wanting to do things with friends, etc. but there will come a time when she will want to be around you all the time. Carrie went through that and we have become a lot closer over the last few years. But I remember all too well when she would rather be at a friends or go to a slumber party, etc. And that's good that your time with her is flexible enough that she can come anytime.
ANGIE...we did the base coat and tried the red again and OMGoodness! it is horrible. From a distance it looks fine but up close, ick! We have some of the green left from before so tomorrow V is painting it green again. If we end up staying and I still want a red door we will just go buy one already painted! No offer on the house and man i was mad again when we came back. Apparently, the people had a bratty kid (giving them the benefit of the doubt) because it looked like someone actually had been jumping on the couch and chair! :o I really cannot believe people and their lack of respect for other people. Driving me crazy! Isn't it weird when one of the kids are gone? Well, it is for me. It's just not the same for me when one is missing, too quiet it seems. Even though...they spend most of their time in their bedroom.
LAKEGIRL...I'm assuming your name is Kimberly???? I will have to go and check the bios. Would you rather be called by your name or username? Just let us know. And WTG on your weight loss! :bravo: Don't cha just love a kingsize bed? Man, I wouldn't know what to do without one. Or should I say DH wouldn't know what to do, hehe. 3/4 of the bed is mine, all mine! I am such a bedhog for sure.
ELLEN...hey, I've actually said that a few times. I've always been in shape...some kind of shape anyway. Maybe not have been skinny, but I've always had a shape! And that's exactly what my belly looks like! yes, we have had a steady stream of viewers and not one offer yet! But...that is fine with us. We don't care anymore. We are just going to bit the bullet and let the contract run out and hope, fingers crossed :crossed: that we don't get any offers. Of course V has told me that he never wanted to move to begin with, what?! He said he was just trying to please me and make me happy! Okay, love the man, but that is nonsense. Told him he should have just said "NO, I don't want to move!" and that would have been the end of that. Anywhoo...the red door is not working out :( And it was such a nice color, tricky color, but pretty, a deep dark red. So how is your kitchen coming along? Anymore late nights working in it? When you get some time, wanna come and work on mine? Please :^:
SUSAN...hey, maybe you and your mom and inspire each other to lose the weight. She has got to be so proud of you, and how far you have come. I know I sure am. I know what whoppers are, and I like them. I thought you were talking about whoppers from BK, duh! *slaps forehead* Maybe Rebecca is acting out to get attention. It's got to be hard seeing Rachel go through all she is dealing with, and that right there would take a lot of you and Dougs time. She probably feels a little left out. Hope you got your walk in at the park.
Well, ladies...guess I'll be going for now. Surely there's something on the telly by now. Should have gone to Blockbuster, darn. Oh well, I need ot be doing other things anyway. I had all that energy this morning, and most of the day. about 4 I started getting sleepy. Feel asleep on the couch at 5 for about 15 mns. and then again at 5:30 and didn't wake up until 7, YIKES! Little Ernie dog was whining next to me. he goes crazy about 5-6 wanting to be feed. How the dog knows it's feeding time is beyond me, but he was wanting his food. Have a good night ladies!

 Good Evening Ladies ~ I haven't been here for a few days and you all sure do a lot of posting! It has been a very stressful past couple of days. My mom, who lives in an assisted living facility just up the road from me, passed out Wednesday night when she got really dizzy, and was complaining if shortness of breath and bad chest pains. They took her by ambulance to the hospital and she went home today. I should tell you all of the medical conditions she has had: 2 open heart surgeries, 5 strokes, cerebral hemorage in her brain, almost diabetic coma, now is diabetic, bone cancer in her left femer bone and had 9 inches of bone removed and has a cadaver bone and steel rod in now, skin cancer, and now liver problems. I think that's everything. People just don't understand how she has pulled through everything, but she sure has. This recent episode was because she was retaining fluid on her lungs, and now she has to see a heart specialist on Tuesday. She had a very bad breakdown Thursday night when my younger daugher and I were at the hospital, because she heard her nurse and someone else talking about her and called her a name. I got everyone involved with that issue, and her doctor is handling the problem now. My mom has so many mental problems, and it's so hard on me to keep seeing her go through this. I was having chest pains for two days from stress, because besides my mom, my grandma is also in the hospital not doing good.:(
Susan and Marti, I see you both are from Oregon also ~ do you mind me asking where you both live? I live in Oregon City and love it here, but the traffic is getting soooooo bad!:(
I hope all of you have a wonderful evening and will talk again soon...:grouphug:

GOOD MORNING GIRLS
I had written you a early morning Sunday post, since I was going shopping tomorrow, I was just about finished with all my jabbering when the screen flashed blue fatal error and shut down on me and erased my post. Now I should be really cranky, but then this evil computer would win , so I won't give in  but having said that it is now 1:40 in the morning and I have to get up early to go shopping with sweet daughter 45 minutes from where we live, so I will have an early start , so this means I can't fill you in on all the intellectual material I had to say  But don't worry because when I get home I will . and I will tell you what I bought if anything  So if anyone is reading this now , just pretend you didn't and read it in the morning  I will talk to you girls when I get home.:D

Good evening gals!
Checking in before I shut the computer down for the night. Been a busy day...and then a boring day for me. Got my kitchen very clean. Got some nooks and cranny's all cleaned up!:D
The races are starting up again. Love the sound of that. We live maybe, 1/4mile (if that) from the race track. And when warm weather starts....we start hearing the cars going. Most of the neighbors hate it. Even complain about it to the city. But hey...they races have been here a long time...some of the neighbors are new. They knew where they were living next too.
Also smelled many BBQ's going tonight! Truly the sounds and smells of spring weather!! Loving it.
Jane--Count me as one who wants to see your home! I'm glad that you're moved in and settled and even have your first over night guest! Won't Katie be happy coming home to a brand new house!
Cristina--Glad to hear that you're enjoying the new gym your going to. (sorry, I forgot the name of the place) I need to utilize the gym we have at work. I really have no excuses to not go. I just haven't wanted to use up my lunch time for working out (and sweating) and then working out after work....so late. If I came before work...all the employees who get off at 5:00 would be there and so it would be too crowded. See there....all kinds of excuses!! Shame on me!
Michelle--Oh my goodness...your poor mom! That is a lot to go through in life and to still be suffering. My heart goes out to her! Sending so many hugs. I live south of Eugene. Small town. But I've lived in smaller!:)
Ellen--Is your time zone 3hrs ahead of me?? You must live quite a distance from Angie...I believe she's only an hour ahead of me. (Aren't you Angie???) Have a wonderful time w/your DD tomorrow!!
Hello to everyone else out there.
I'm waiting for James to get home. He should be home in a few more hours. Been a couple days since I've seen him.....I believe I miss the guy!:D
Ok....off to fold some laundry. Been putting that off and now it's 11:30pm.!! Procrastination gets you no where...which is why I haven't lost any weight!:dizzy:
hugs!

Good morning ladies,
My oh my, so much going on:o . First of all, Michelle, your poor sainted mother has certainly been through a lot. It is amazing that she is still with us. She is a strong woman. My heart goes out to her and you. And to top it off your grandmother is also not doing well. You most definitely will be in my prayers.
Jane, I would like to see pictures of your house also, please let me know how and where to see them when you get them posted. Isn't it nice to have the dgd overnight, I always enjoy having mine too.
Christina, sorry you are having so much trouble getting your door painted like you want it. Sounds like a good idea to just buy one already done. You said your dh didn't really want to move but was just doing it to please you.. what a sweet man. You can't fault him for trying to please you.:D
Marti, yes that is a lot of excuses. Are you still using your gazelle? I think you are the one who has one, right?:dunno:
Angie, how are you doing?
Susan, sounds like Rebecca is vying for attention too. It must be hard being the middle child. How is Rachel doing? You haven't mentioned to much about her lately, hope she is coming around. And Gaby sounds like a real little sweetie. Glad she is liking her school bus.
Ellen, remember the school bus that has wheels that go round and round...
*sorry*:sorry: I couldn't resist. Are you still painting in your house.. hey maybe you should go over to Christina's and give them a hand with their door.
Lakegirl, welcome.:welcome2: :wel3fc: :welcome: .nice to meet you, look forward to hearing more about you.
Wonder how Connie is doing? Hope it all went well for her.
Hello Jules, Mindee, Katy and everyone else I missed. Hope everyone is having a good Sunday.
It is raining here again.:rain: It is cold here again. I really don't know why we live in Michigan, it seems we have 3 months of winter and 9 months of cold weather with a few weeks of warmth thrown in on occasion.:sunny: Today my littlest dgd turns 2. We are going to her birthday party this afternoon. She is talking up a storm. It is such a cute age. :bb: :gift: :hb:
Went out to dinner last night like I said.:hun: Had a fish dish. There was a baked walleye almondine, a piece of grilled salmon and a piece of lightly battered fried whitefish. I don't normally eat fish but it was good for a change but I didn't finish all the walleye, wasn't particularly fond of it.. I had a small salad with vingerette dressing and a small piece of the dinner roll. I was starving. But the scale was still down there this morning,:goodscale so I am happy about that. At the movie we didn't have any popcorn:corn: We were to full of dinner. I had ridden 8 miles on my bike :ebike: an hour before we went out. So I think I did good.:D
Some one suggested drinking broth before they go out to dinner to feel full. :halffull: But I figure if I am going to go out to dinner, I am going to enjoy it.. but in moderation. What is the point of going out to dinner if you aren't going to eat?:hun:
This has been a real roller coaster month for me. I sure hope the next one is better. I am determined to lose the weight this summer. How is the challenge coming along? Oh is tomorrow the big weigh in day for Ellen and Susan?:goodscale :crossed: :goodluck:
I guess I better go, I am just rattling on here. I don't seem to have anything to really do at this time. I am going to go fix a tuna salad for dh's lunch in a bit. But I think I will pass since I had a late breakfast of the last of my Easter ham and an egg.
Will check in later to see how things are going with the rest of you.:grouphug:

 Marti & Ginny ~ Thanks so much for the many hugs and prayers, because they are really appreciated. My mom is at home now, and really shouldn't be yet! She still coughs so much from that fluid that was in her lungs. I don't understand the hospitals and doctors, but they just want to rush them right out the door!:?: Today it is another sunny beautiful day here, and is suppose to get up to about 70 degrees again. I love this weather and could live year round with it like this!:sunny:
:welcome2: Lakegirl ~ I'm newer to this group also, but this is a very very nice group of ladies and I'm sure you'll enjoy it here!;)
I hope everyone else is doing good and having a wonderful Sunday! Talk to you all a little later...:flow2:

Wow..you guys have been busy...welcome to the newbies and hello to the regularbies...
This will be short--after raining for two days and this morning the sun is out and shining bright--my choices of the day are either going for a motorcycle ride or morel mushroom hunting. If DH decides to do neither and work in the garage it will be mowing the grass for me.....

Good Morning:flow1:

btw- I am working on my self esteem - lol
Silly Rebecca. She can have my attention without upsetting the local fire station - lol She is going to babysit Gaby for me this week. They don't get along so I am thinking this will be punishment enough for Beck. I told Gab to give her ****.
Michelle- I sent a IM where I live. Hope you get it and welcome again to the group!
Ginny- Yes, tomorrow is the weigh in but I won't be around til evening. lol I had some peanutbutter crackers and 2 beers last night. I watched Something has gotta give with Jack & Diane, that was so funny. Diane Keaton is great.
ok- need to go rotate my donuts. Chat later.

Angie - I know you are a PI but what does that mean? jk Anyway, she pulled it with a friend in tow. Very cute girl but they both seem to have stepped up in the bad behavior. This other girl was the one that gave Rachels friend some gas to sniff or huff or whatever the heck you do with it.
Anyway, they both have 3 days off from school. *sigh.......I smell like donuts.
I better get home to Gaby and the gang.
Chat later.

I made some chicken soup and put all the bags of veggies that I didn't finish from work. I don't know what I am going to eat the next 3 days. Unless I go to work on my lunch break and micro something. .....or just eat something in moderation, I guess.
It is sunny here!! Going to nap some since I woke up at 6:30am

Gorgeous day here in sunny Portland! I weeded some after church; Leigh rode her bike a little - still hard for her. Then we drew chalk pictures on the driveway. What a life!
Michelle - what Susan said - we are practically in the same neighborhood.
I'm in on WI Mondays...gotta have some accountability; I also chimed in on the challenge thread....so here we go
Have a great day everyone

Hello Ladies!
Cristina - we really love the plasma TV. It's so light-weight. Not that we've carried it anywhere since it got moved to the new house, lol. When the satellite guy hooked up our TVs, we got a new HD receiver (already had the HD dish) and so when shows come on that are HD, we get the best clarity! The screen is LCD, so all shows look better now than they did on the old TV. Yes, we used the fireplace the other night, and it was beautiful. I love the sizzle and crackle of a real wood fire.
Michelle - wow, your mom sure is a survivor! I'm hoping you'll take care of yourself, sweetie. There's an old Japanese saying "After me, you first" which is so true! You can't take care of someone else until you take care of yourself first.
Ellen - hope you're having fun shopping with your DD today. Wad'ja buy me?? :D Somebody asked your location. Aren't you north of New York state, or thereabouts?
Marti - hey, fly to Evansville, and I'll bring you to my home where you can stay in the guest room as long as you like. Bring James, too! Hope you and he have fun today.
Ginny - so sorry but the photos of my house are deleted. Come on down to Indiana after your busy season is over, and see it first hand!
Jules - so what did you end up doing today afterall?
Susan - I meant to mention the other day that the Light Done Right salad dressings are soooo good on a flour tortilla with sliced turkey. I sometimes add green pepper strips for crunch. I really like to read how you're getting lots of veggies recently.
Angie - aww, the sleep over was fun. She was so tired by the time we actually went to bed, though, that she went to sleep before long. You said you're going to talk to your doctor about your weight. If I'm not being too nosy, did you mean for advice, or what?
Katy - funny you mentioned chalk. The DGDs got some egg-shaped chalk for Easter and have been busy with it most of the day, lol. I've got it all over my pants from their sweet little hands, but I don't care at all.
Kimberly - forgive me if I should already know this, but are you doing WW? One of the things I like best about that program is that nothing is off-limits. Comes in handy when a gal needs a crepe, lol. So glad you joined out group!
MaryAnn - welcome to our place. I'm glad you're comfortable here. But I'm so concerned about what you said about your abusive husband. Is there anyone you can turn to for help? Family, a close friend, or a minister? In the meantime, please keep coming here for support, ok?
Well, let's see..... as I mentioned to Angie, the sleepover was fun. Then today, we spent lots of time outdoors again. The weather is gorgeous!
I think I forget to mention that I went for an MRI on my knee. I'll get the results Tuesday.
See ya on the flip side.

I am splurging on a slurpee, the green apple flavor ones. I love those and the mango. The 7 -11 lady said "you really know how to make those".....lol
Going to eat a bowl of soup and get ready for tomorrow.

nothing really new here.....just celebrating the oldest munchkin's 2nd birthday!! He got up this morning and wanted a piece of cake, and then a cupcake for breakfast! We settled on cheerios instead. Then he had a cupcake for lunch, along with some Vienna sausages. For dinner, he had two pieces of Salisbury steak, some mashed potatoes, and then a tiny piece of cake for dessert! I gave him his second plate at dinner, and he told me “thank you.”
Jules~ I love playing at the park! I used to go on the swings if we ended up at a park.
Cristina~ No problem! I was more afraid because I had Brandon when I went across the bridge first. When I came back across the bridge to leave, I had Logan, so I went even faster that time.
Ginny~ I am so sorry to hear about your doggie. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
This *might* be my last post before I get unhooked from the internet. I will try and get back on here Monday night, but if I don’t, then I will talk to you all after we move and get settled in!

Okay, where are all the Monday gals? Does this mean I have to be the first to say I weighed? Well, I did, but that doesn't mean I am going to tell you the results.........haha.
Not much going on here today. I just went out and took several pictures of this house since DH mowed last evening and we got all of the shrubs and flowers looking good. We wanted some pictures for the realtor of when things were in bloom. My lilacs aren't out yet and I am hoping they bloom before the trees lose their colors.
Last night I had everything ready to fix DH a big dinner after he mowed. I kept putting off starting it as he did more and more in the yard. Finally I went out and told him to get his butt in here if he wanted dinner before mid-night. We were eating at 8:30 and I hate that. I had been trying to eat NOTHING after 8. Anyway, I baked him biscuits, which he can eat leftover all week. :) I eat one when they are straight from the oven then I don't eat them leftover.
Going to Wally World and Home Depot this afternoon and will stop and check in on Mom.
I will catch up with you all later.
Oh yeah....the weigh in was a disappointment. I am still at 175. Blah! I will try harder this week..I WILL try harder this week. I will TRY harder...I will try HARDER.

Hello Ladies,
I hope you don't mind if I join you all! I am new to this site, and new to losing weight, well new to ACTUALLY losing weight.
My weight is most definately NOT who I am, although it is a big part of me and I'd really REALLY like to change it.
I am a 23 year old truckers wife. (Yes I'm young, Yes I married my High School Sweetheart!) I am an aspiring novelist and nursing student.

hi,
i'm new to this site also.... had a quick question... does anyone know if it is safe to do a low carb diet while nursing.... if so, how many carbs should i be taking in? I followed the Curves diet before I got pregnant and did well... now i'd definitely like to lose weight after baby #2!!!

Hello Ladies...
MICHELLE(((((HUGS))))) to you , your mom and your grandma.  As hard as it is, try and take care of yourself too. I know that is easier said than done.
ELLEN...with all the posts you've lost, I would be fuming and not even want to bother. When 3fc made the changes a while back, I was having so many problems with trying to get on, I just quit. Never thought about going through IE. Did and haven't had any problems since. It was very frustraing though...kept getting the server is busy, the server is busy. Then when I would finally get through, it would take forever to load, I'm talking a very LOOOOOOOONG time! Haven't tried to get on through AOL since so don't know if I can or not. WTG on losing 5 pounds! :carrot: :bravo: Hey 5 lbs. in two weeks is a GREAT loss! Keep up the good work!
MARTI...yeah, so far I am loving It Figures. I think I am just loving the idea of moving my *** again! I know that this will be a forever thing. I've just got to find the right schedule and actually get on that schedule and get it done. Didn't go today because we had some god awful storms with bad wind, rain and hail this morning. No way was I getting in that. So I walked on the treadmill 3 miles. Hope you had a GREAT time when James came home.
JANE...the t.v. sounds nice, as did the fire. I could actually use a fire right now. This weather is so strange. We had storms and it cooled off a lot! So I am sitting int he basement freezing!
GINNY...I know I can't find fault with DH, especially when he is trying to please me. He is a sweetie and I love him to death  WTG on the scales going down! :goodscale :bravo: Also, bravo to your 8 miles on the bike! You are doing an awesome job with your biking. AND....a very HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY to your DGD!:hb: :gift: Such a fun age.
MINDEE...a very [COLOR="red"]HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Brandon also!Hope you guys had a fun celebration! Hoping you get your internet set up quickly so you won't be gone too long.
SUE...you CAN do it! Have fun at Wall World and Home Depot. And...have a nice visit with your mom.
SUSAN...V had one of those green apple slurpees and loved it! I tried an orange one and didn't care much for it...just stick to the cherry or coke ones when I have one. We got one about a week ago and a few weeks before that. Other than that I can't remember the last time I had one. Of course here they are icee's or something odd sounding at Quick Trip which is a gas station/store. Don't have 7/11's here.
JULES...sorry the allergies are still bothering you.
ANGIE...must be pretty quiet around the house with both boys being gone. Or has Tanner come back from band camp? Hope he didn't do anything with the flute! LOL
HI AMY & WELCOME! sorry can't help ya. I've never followed a low carb diet.
HI MTaTJac and WELCOME to you also!and you are right, your weight is NOT who you are! We look forward to getting to know you.
Hi KATY...trade ya WI's.
Hope I didn't miss anyone. Tried to get to everyone but with so many posts, it is definitely hard to keep up sometimes!
So...WI was this morning and I am happy to say I am down 1 pound! :carrot: :carrot: I'll take any loss I can get. I was mad at myself for gaining back some of the 13 lbs. I had lost but it's not big deal. I stopped before I gained it all back and am getting on track so that in itself is a NSV for me! Not sure if anyone noticed but my ticker did go up a pound even though I had a loss of a pound. The reason is I bought new scales last weekand they showed two pounds higher than the old scales. Last Monday the old ones were at 201 and that's what I did the ticker at. When I weighed WED. on the new scales it said 203, YIKES! So...today I am at 202, down a pound according to the new scales. Almost went back to the old scales, lol! Going to work harder this week and aim for at least 2 pounds next WI. Anyway...was up early due to some bad storms and it only got worse. Didn't go to It Figures, will tomorrow. I was not getting out in the bad wind, rain and hail. Got the video camera out to record the two seperate bouts of hail we had so V could see it. Jason said his car was all pitted from it. he had to be at class early this morning when it all started. Anyway, I did three miles on the treadmill since I didn't go to It Figures. But now it has cleared up some thank goodness. We have a showing this evening at 7:15, kind of late but V said to go ahead and take the appoinment. Glad I was up early to clean. Got everything done except the vacuuming and now I have to go in just a few minutes. Jason was on his way to work and his car keeps cutting out and has died on him several times. It has taken him a little over an hour to get back on our side of town to the local automotive repair shop. So gotta go get him in a few minutes. I told him he needs to get a more dependable car since he drives up to 100 miles a day to school and work. Maybe this make him seriously consider it.
Take care ladies and have a great Monday!

I can't answer the nursing Question maybe someone else is more capable to do that, but congratulations on babies, 1 & 2 .So happy to have you girls join us. Sorry we don't allow pretty young happily married girls on this site, this is for old Jaded chicks  JUST KIDDING  Aspiring novelist and nursing student , good for you , I am an aspiring poet, I am really.:nono: What types of books do you write, I find that fascinating. Nursing was something I always wanted to do, to follow in my Aunt Mary's footsteps, but unfortunately I spent most of my time in the hospital as a patient my first 30 years so I didn't achieve that goal. :( Some things are just not to be I guess. Well I am looking forward to knowing more about you girls , so jump into the conversations when you like , and enjoy. Its really quiet here right now because its WEIGH IN DAY and everyone is hiding

Ellen I am plenty Jaded... my husband is a truck driver ;) Enough Said on that  I write fiction, lately a lot of sappy romance junk... but really whatever strikes my mood! I'd love to get a novel published some day...
I just ruined a perfectly good day :( I was doing so well and then I ate a piece of pizza... just one piece, but that turned into eating some pop corn... OY! I just hate days like today.

AMY -
I have a little experience with low-carb ( Zone off and on) I also nursed both kids, my DD for two years. My experience is that you need to cut yourself some slack in the calorie department when you are nursing. Nursing burns up to 600 extra calories a day. Your hormones are also in a very different place when you are nursing. Many moms, myself included, found that nursing helped us lose a quick 30-40 pounds at first. But then, your body holds on to the rest for dear life while you are nursing to make sure your baby is getting what they need. If you start reducing calories, your body holds onto those pounds even tighter. Many moms find that the rest of the weight they want to lose doesn't come off until after they stop nursing and give their bodies a chance to adapt. Sometimes, whether you nurse or not, you body does not get stabilized hormonally for up to two years after a birth.
So, IMO, low carb is ok, but be careful about cutting calories when you nurse - it can backfire. Many low carb approaches are masquerading as low calorie..so just be careful!
Off to get the DD from preschool!
ciao

OMG! She is just darling!!!
I love cats, and wish I could have one... but for now it's just not in the cards! I had two, but when we moved we gave them to a friend who was looking at adopting cats, we didn't really feel that a 12 hour car ride would be good for them, and our new living arrangements aren't ideal for a cat. So they are much happier with their new home, but I miss them very much.
