My baby is HOME! We left the house this morning at 5 am and three and a half hours later I was hugging my boy! His first words to me were "Wow! What did you do to yourself? You look great!" Tim laughed and patted his belly and said "Your mom gave 30 pounds to me!"
We had a wonderful day today catching up, but the topper came at dinner...after Tim said grace our little 2 1/2 year old granddaughter said she wanted to pray too, so we bowed our heads again and Emma says "Dear God, thank you for our food and I like Uncle Travis. Amen." Yep, there wasn't a dry eye in the house!
Travis and Noell have been up since yesterday morning and we were all up early this morning too, so we are calling it an early night and we're all heading off to bed, but I wanted to share my wonderful day with you all first!

Suzy thanks for sharing your first day with Travis. I felt like I went through some of your emotions as you anxiously awaited Travis to come home, so it is wonderful that you shared your excitement and joy with us. You did a great job losing weight.
Cheryl were all flashers. I feel like I am up in lights on broadway. lol
Thanks for starting a new thread for us. You are such a help.
A few of us got an email from Sherry today. She has been moving the last three weeks, they will be staying at the old house this weekend then they will be at their new house. Chris was home on a leave helping them move.
Mom is still in the hospital so it is busy. I was sick til saturday but am feeling much better now.
Got lots of running to do so I better run. Does that count Shelley?

I have been so busy busy at work that it's not even funny!
I messed up on one of the files I was working on and got my A$$ chewed by a superior--he told me that it wasn't even a mistake, it was BORDERLINE STUPIDITY!! I went in my boss' office and cried. He's been picking on her, too, so she was sympathetic.
Stewart is up and around, back to work next Tuesday. At his 1-week checkup the doctor told him that he didn't have to put the screen in his stomach because Stewart had such good muscle mass. The Dr. also told Stewart that he's healing better than anyone else he's ever seen. (Must be because he cleaned the house.)
Suzy--I'm glad Travis is home. Enjoy him.
Dee--how's Dez? And did your son ever get married?
Hello to everyone!
Oh--and Shelley, sorry I haven't been over to the exercise thread lately. Guess my April goal has gone to pot!

Cheryl that is an aweful thing your superior said to you. I hope that something can be done about the way he treated you. I am glad that you have a supportive boss.
Steward sounds like he is well on his way. He must have been proud when the doc said that he was healing so quickly.
Knotty, Knotty don't give up on exercising this month. We still have a week an a half to go. You may not meet your goal but you can give it all you got for the rest of the month.
Dez seen her surgeon last week and her inscision has finally healed up. He told her I hope I never see your butt again. He is such a funny doctor.
We are going to see mom right after we have dinner tonight. I haven't heard how she is feeling today yet. Her oxygen levels have been between 70 and 83 with oxygen. They should be 100 but for her 94-96 is good. Dez was there yesterday and said that she didn't look well and that she was really grouchy. I am going to try and get her out of her room tonight. I know that she wanted to go for a stroll yesterday but there weren't any wheelchairs available at the time my dad or Dez was there.
Hope you all have a good night and aren't to stinky like some other Floozie I know.

Cheryl-You are doing an amazing job while our Sherry finishes moving. I'm glad Stewart is on the mend.
Dee-My dad turns 83 today. I am having them over for dinner tonight. Just spaghetti and my mom will bring a pie. Passover isn't really over until 8 tonight, so I'm hoping my dad will give in a couple of hrs. early. I'm so glad that Dez is healed! It has been a long time. I'm sending prayers your way for your mom.
Suzy-I'm sure you are in high heaven right now with Travis around. I'm so happy for you.
Sherry-Thank you so much for the update. I hope you get settled in quickly and come back to the board. We all miss you so much!
Gayle-I wish I could help on the dinner situation, but as you know, I have just starting cooking myself! It sounds like it would work though.
I miss everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been posting much. It seems everytime I have a long post, the computer turns off. I had better go now before it does again.

I saw a coyote while I was walking yesterday. I think it was running parallel to me in the woods, because I kept hearing something. Then I stopped and waited, very still, and it came out of the woods. It took a few steps toward me but then it "realized" I was there and turned around and ran back into the woods.
It's amazing how something so much like a dog can look SO un-dog-like!

Cheryl that is an amazing story. I think it is neat that you can walk amoung the wild life. I am glad that you aren't being to Knotty and that you are walking.
Shelley my mom has a birthday on the 30th. She is turning 72. Thanks for the prayers for mom. That is nice that you are having your dad over for dinner tonight. So when you said that you hoped that your Dad would give in a couple hours early because it is still passover..........what do you mean by that? Is pasta not allowed?
Gayle as for cooking your dinner I think that the steaks would be better to cook just before serving. They won't take long anyways. If you do them sooner they may be dried out a bit. Everything else could be prepared before hand though.
Mom is having a breathing test today to determine if she can live without oxygen. It is amazing how quickly one can go down hill. She was doing pretty good last night when we seen her.
I have to go get ready I am going to do an hour of lane swimming.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Mom had her test yesterday and it looks like she will have to go home with oxygen. It may not be permenent but we will have to see how she does. She should be released soon.
Gayle how is Steve doing? Was his surgery a sucess? He was in my prayers yesterday.
It is a beautiful sunny day here. We are having temps above normal. I just got to love that.
We don't have any exciting plans for the weekend. Who knows what we will end up doing. How about you guys? We know that Suzy will be busy visiting and cooking up a storm, Sherry is busy moving, and maybe Shelley is recouperating from her Dad's birthday party.
What ever you do to this weekend I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you so much for the stinky Gayle banner Cheryl! I feel sooooo loved!
Glad Stewart is getting along so well! Sounds like he needs to continue housework, must be good for him, look how fast he healed! LOL!
Suzy, I'm glad your having fun! Remember, you can always get back OP after Travis & Noelle go home.
Dee, glad mom is going home! Will she need the oxygen 24/7??? Is she set in 2?? Lack of oxygen can cause all kinds of problems including memory loss.
The surgery went well! Steve is amazed, he can see again in that eye! They went in, sucked out the cateract and fitted a new artifical eye lens into his eye giving him perfect 20/20 vision in that eye. His right eye isn't bad enough yet to have the surgery so he will wear one contact in his right eye or he can wear his glasses with the right lens removed and a piece of clear lens in its place. He is recovering over the weekend. Steve says thank you for the prayers and well wishes. NOW, he wants you all to send him nude pics so he can test out his new eye sight! LOL!

Gayle-It's amazing what they can do now a days with medical stuff. I'm so glad that Steve came through everything fine.
Suzy-Is Travis here just for the week? When does he have to go back?
Dee-Hopefully your mom won't have to be on oxygen for too long. I'm sure it's for the best and will be a pain until she gets used to it.
Tonight is prom night, so I'll be taking pictures and posting them. Becky is leaving at 4:30 and Patty isn't leaving until probably 5:30. Problem-I won't be able to get a picture of them together! Patty has to work until 3:30.
We had a nice dinner for Dad. My mom backed him a pie and had happy birthday letters on it made out of dough. It was so cute.
Our school did fantastic on the Fl Writes! We averaged 4.0. There were only 3 schools higher, and those schools all have majority populations. Our minority rate is 80%. We are so proud of our kids.

News Alert
Mom got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon! Guess what? She is breathing well enough that she doesn't need oxygen! Thanks for all the prayers. I beleive they helped because just on thrusday they said that she would need oxygen all the time.
Shelley I would love to see the prom pics. You must be so proud. While you are sending me them send me one of your new cut. My girl friend has really curly hair like you and she used to keep it shorter. It looked really cute on her.
Even though your principal is back doesn't mean that you have to be super women and stress yourself to the max. Accept that you can do only what you can do, not what they want you to do.
Janice wow 14 pounds. You are doing an amazing job. Keep doing what you are doing because it is working. What kind of bathroom renos are you doing? I hope that you have more than one bathroom.
Suzy today is only tuesday so don't start thinking it is over yet. You have to dwel in the moment, but 10 days do pass quickly. I am sure that you made many special memories. Today should be fun for you, just taking it easy.
Gayle hmm some nude pictures,eh? Well let me see what I can dig up.....lol I am sure that if it was Larry he wouldn't be able to see as well as Steve. He would have two black eyes swollen shut.

I'm not quite sure how it goes, but all I know is I'll be working double. I could do it very easily if I wasn't at the front counter. If I have a breakdown, you girls will know why.

Dee- What great news about you Mom. She is in my prayers. How is your pain these days? Did the shot you had help at all. Is there anything else they can do to help the pain?
I painted the tub surround and put down a new tile floor in the bathroom, painted and folk arted humminbirds on the vanity. I still have some work to finish in the bathroom. I have been looking for wallpaper for the hall and paint for the kitchen. I am going to strip the tiles in both those areas and lay new ones. I am too busy to think about over eating. I have lots of ideas for the bedrooms and laundry room. I noticed my hands a pretty swollen and stiff today so I will take things a bit easier.

The last two weeks sure have been wonderful here, but yesterday we had to take Travis, Noell and kittycat Jack back to the airport. It was so hard saying goodbye, especially knowing that it will be a year before we see Travis again. His unit will deploy back to Iraq for 6 more months this fall, so it's unlikely that they will make another trip home before he leaves (unless there is a death in our immediate family or some other emergency, but let's hope nothing like that happens). Anyhow...we did all have a wonderful time together and we're counting down the days until we can do it all over again!
In the mean time we're all thankful for phones, computers and webcams!
Now the job of getting back into our regular routines begins...
Janice ~ You are doing AWESOME!!! 14 pounds gone...you should be very proud of yourself!
Dee ~ I'm so happy to hear the good news about your mom! I hope she continues to feel better and better each day!

Shelley what tragic news. I will continue to pray for his family, co-workers and friends.
I am glad that this summer they have hired a temp for you to answer phones. I can't beleive how dedicated you are to want to go into work for 6:00 am. If you think that it would help and that you can handle it I would ask for the overtime.
Janice the shot that I had for my back did not help. It actually demobilized me more than anything. As for now there isn't anything that they can do except give me more drugs. My last increase was almost two weeks ago and I told Larry that I feel like I am trying to walk underwater. It takes that much effort to do anything. I am exhausted from noon til night and I only get up around 9:00. I am not sure if it is the pain medication or my beta blockers for my heart that is doing it. I see the doctor monday. I am in a lot of extra pain these days because I stained part of the fence last weekend and I haven't recovered. C'est la vie!
We have another talented one in our group. Your bathroom sounds really nice. I love hummingbirds. Did you know that wallpaper is back big time?
Take it easy and do only what your body will let you. I am one to talk.
Suzy I am happy for you that you had this time to visit with Travis. I know that you will cherish this visit until you see him next year. Now it is important for you not to go into a downward spiral and start to eat. Make a goal for next year when you see Travis.
Hey Gayle whatz sup? You are a quiet one aren't you?
How does everyone like the new appearance of the board?
Yesterday my sister Gayle came into the city and we went for lunch. We just hung out all day. It was nice to have something to distract me from my pain. My mom's birthday is sunday so we will be bring chinese food over for dinner. Everyone will be there celebrating with her. I couldn't beleive that she liked my croc shoes so that is she is going to get.
The fence will hopefully get finished this weekend. If I can't do it I am sure that Larry will. I also want to set up the pool house so that we can eat out there and I can have my little siesta.
I hope that you all have a great weekend.

Dee ~ If I didn't know better I would swear that you could see that I am sitting here with a bowl of ice cream! :^: You're right though...I can't let myself go out of control and start the emotional eating again. I did really well the past two weeks and didn't gain at all. I'm really proud of that because there was a whole lot of cookin' and eatin' goin' on! A new goal for next spring is a good idea...something to work towards and concentrate on. I'll have to think on that a bit...maybe I could work towards being able to go for a long run with Trav or something along those lines.

My computer shut down 4 times yesterday, so I'm trying to make this quick.

Happy May Day Everyone. I am sending you all a virtual bouquet of flowers. I am wishing you a heartful of spring joy.
Shelley I am sure with running 10 miles and eatting 500 calories that balances out. You are doing great maintaining so pat yourself on the back.
At lunch today when Larry picked me up from the doctors he realized that someone tried to break into his car at work. His steering wheel had some scratches on it. Then when we parked at home he realized his steering wheel column was broken. That was close! I wonder if they will come back another time to steel it since half of their work is done. It wouldn’t take much now. Of course his club was on the floor. He is pretty lucky we still have a car. We already had booked an appointment last we for an immobilizer to be put in. They didn’t have an opening til august. Our car is the top car for being stolen. I figure since the news is broadcasting that, now the armature crooks know which car is the easies to steal.
We celebrated mom's 72 birthday yesterday. I thought that it was 73, she sure corrected me on that! lol She is coing really well. Thanks for all the continued support and prayers. I can't remember if I told you what she wanted for her birthday.......she wanted Crocs! She is the last person I thought would wear them because of what they look like.

Janice you are doing great. You must feel sexy! Get yourself a pair of crocs you will even feel sexier! I buy the crocs with the holes on the top called beach crocs. They have more ventelation. If your feet sweat in the shoes they won't smell because of the type of material the shoes are made of. Trust me both my kids have the stinkiest feet in the world and their feet don't stink in their shoes.

Janice-Awesom loss!! You are doing wonderful!!
Dee-It must have been your lucky day, not to have the car stolen. Whew!!
Suzy-Lawnmowing is exhausting, if you're not on a riding mower. I'm sure you burned off plenty of calories.
Have you heard about the fire that burned 9 homes in Lehigh Acres, Fl? One of our teacher's yard, car, motor home, boat, and part of the house got burned up. The fire was started by 3 kids aged 10-14. It was so devastating!
SuzyMc

Shelley ~ You're right about lawn mowing being exhausting! I cut our lawn and Tim's aunt's lawn on Sunday. Aunt Hazel's takes 3 hours on the tractor and then a half an hour with the push mower. Ours takes another hour and a half with the push mower. Then if you add in the trimming it's a full day to get it all done.
I saw about the wildfire that those kids set on the news this morning. I hope your friend was insured! They were saying on the news that the children are under arrest and that the parents may be held liable for damages, but I don't know how in the world one would begin to pay for so much devastation!

I am checking in and reading. Just not posting much... hosting a bridal shower this weekend, working and staying busy with usual junk. Getting ready for a garage sale in a few weeks too...I can't believe all the stuff we seem to accumulate! I also took on another job on Sunday afternoons. I will be cleaning the store I work at throughout the week. I couldn't pass it up when it pays $3.00 more an hour then my regular wage. It will just be for 2-3hours in the afternoon.

Gayle,
I just had a conversation w/a co-worker last week who had never heard the word fugly. Do you use that word or did I 'give' it to you?

Nope, you didn't give it to me Cheryl, must be hick slang. Can be used to describe anything that is fu**k'n ugly.

Yea, it's hick slang. We use it all the time here in the south!!
Gayle-I hope you don't wear yourself down between all the work and your family.
Suzy-I can't help to think that those kids that set the fire will regret it for the rest of their lives. They didn't know what kind of devastation would happen, I'm sure.
Cheryl-I'm actually thinking about going and trying on the fugly crocs, after hearing all the talk here. One of my coworkers bought orange sloggers. I think they are gardening clogs, but she wears them to work on casual days.
Anybody hear from Ramona and Doni yet? I am so worried about both of them.

I hope that you have a marvelous day! No one deserves it more than you.
How about we play a game this weekfor Gayle's birthday?
What we need to do it write a word that goes with the spelling of Gayle's name. I will start and you can copy and paste what I write and add on.
How about we play with this and do one for our wonderful friend Gayle and a funny, aging Gayle.

Sherry - It was so nice to here from you. We miss you around here. Hope things are calming down in your life.
I had chinese food for supper last night - it was good, but I felt so guilty eating all those points I don't know if it was worth it.
