Unhappy I having an "I feel fat" day

I hate that. Days where you just 'feel' fat. It brings back painful memories of when I felt that way every day.

What do you do on 'feeling fat' days so you don't feel fat anymore?

I know now that the feeling of fat is a temporary one, whereas when I was 200+lbs I felt like that every single day. I remind myself of the 30+ lbs that I have lost and that I am now almost in size 12 pants. I also remind myself of all the hard work I have put in.

Linda.

I just remind myself of how far I've come! Sometimes when that doesn't work I just keep going anyway and try not to feel bad because the feeling is usually very short-lived.

Thank you, Lynne and healthyme

I just sometimes feel like a big fat slug. Then I have days where I feel nice and thin. I think it depends on what I wear. I've noticed that if I slip into an old t-shirt that I used to wear when I was fat, I feet fat all over again. I went through my closet a few weeks ago and pitched out most all of my fat clothes, but kept a few big shirts and sweats just to bum around the house in. But when I wear them, I feel like a big fat blob.

Then why keep them? It shouldn't be that expensive to replace stuff like sweats, especially if you shop around at the clearance racks and end-of-season sales. Besides, you won't need to buy a huge amount of stuff, 'cause you're so close to your goal already. Maybe just a couple of things to tide you over till you hit your goal.

Well, I kept them mostly just to have something to bum around the house in. Because they're big, they're comfortable. But I never wear them in public.

But, maybe you're right... if they make me FEEL fat, it's not worth it. Especially those blasted sweats, I literally FLOAT in those things now. My husband laughs and calls them my "clown pants", lol. Most of my sweats are large or x-large, but I went not too long ago and bought myself 2 new pair and boy did it feel good to grab a small!

SMALL! I'm wearing a size SMALL in sweats!

Hey, that was a big deal for me

Really, though, it's not the sweats that make me feel fat, it's my fat shirts. The sweats I don't care about. They're just oversized pants. But when I put on the shirts, the big shirts I used to wear to 'cover' myself, I feel like a blob.

I need to get rid of the rest of them.

I'm having one of those days, but it's more like "I feel fat so I might as well eat fat." It's 2:30 and I've already had 1410 calories.

Usually on my feeling fat days I eat much less. I don't know why, really. I guess because when I feel fat, I'm almost afraid to eat

Do you have a digital camera? Maybe you could take a picture of yourself and see that you are indeed thin and it would help. I know this works the other way (I can have days where I feel good until I look at a picture) so maybe it would work in reverse?

Also is there anything you can pamper yourself with, like showering with a special silky body wash or wearing a particular scent? I also agree that it is time to ditch the fat clothes.

Yeaaa, I am having a "feeling fat day today" and I blame a lot of it on the fact that I don't feel like I contribute enough to my workout this week and tomorrow is my weigh in.

Oh well. Got to face it. I will see where I land.

plus I had one day this week that I blew my calorie out of portion.

I do not feel good about that either.

I may do some exercises tonight to tone down my stress.

I've been feeling like that lately, but I realized whenever I get my period I get all depressed, angry and I feel huge, so I exercise and listen to music and it goes away after a while, so try doing that.

Well, I caught a glimpse of myself today in the reflection of the sliding glass doors while I was outside. And I didn't LOOK fat, I just FEEL fat.

But yes, I took a shower with some nice body wash and changed my shirt and that seemed to help a little
