Default OT ~ A sad sad thing

I mentioned in the buddy journal thread about a stressful thing happening and I fell back into old habits to deal with the stress. Said I would tell in another thread.......

I don't know if any of you remember ~ back in Dec. 2004, I had shared about my parents and the little neighbor dog "Shorty" who came to visit them. His master Mike would drop him off at my mom and dad's every day when he went to work ~ kind of ~ Doggy Day Care.

Sadly, Shorty is now going to be living with my mom and dad permanently ~ on Sunday, a friend of Mike's found him dead at home. The police are calling it homocide.

The neighborhood is devestated. Mike was 34. I never got to meet him, but had written him to thank him for his kindness to my parents. He kind of looked out for them and did things to help them. Dad enjoyed going over and visiting with him. He always made Dad feel welcome and spent time with him.

It is scary to think whoever did it is on the loose ~ I hope they find who did it soon.

That's awful, I'm so sorry. At least the dog has a friendly place to live out his days, a small blessing.

Times like these I never really know what to say except that it truly is a sad thing to happen to such a young person. May he rest with our Lord.

I am really sorry to hear about your parents neighbor. It seems like such a tragedy. I hope they find the perpetrator soon so that your parents can feel safe. Keep us posted.
