OMG where is the time going to??

This month I'd really like to shed some lbs!!

Today I jogged 9.64k and it was :sunny: and beautiful!!

04-02-2006, 08:40 PM
Ah, here you are!
The biking goal ... 15 miles a week would be 60 miles in April. If cardio is my lacking ... that should help.

Here's to pounds gone!

04-02-2006, 11:42 PM
Newby here...
Hoping to increase exercise to 3x/week...did 2.5 miles on elliptical this afternoon....

04-03-2006, 12:16 AM
Here's to pounds gone!Yes Susan, let's see some poundage GONE in April...

04-03-2006, 04:16 AM
Me too!! I'm into some shedding pounds this month too!
2nd April : 20 mins Elliptical, 25 mins Treadmill, 12 mins Weights :D

04-03-2006, 11:36 AM
Ran 6.5 miles yesterday, am planning on runnng 3.2 miles this evening when I get home from work.

04-03-2006, 03:29 PM
Hey everybody,

I signed up for a three month membership at the park district in my town. This is my second week there and I visit three times a week. I usually stay about 45 minutes doing treadmill, stairmaster, and I'm not sure what you call this other machine but you sit in it and it makes you do some sort of crunch forward you push with your upper chest... also get on this machine that has you going from side-to-side turn. I want to tone my upper arms and of course I have that tummy issue going on... Should I check out some of the other machines? The assistant their tried to get me on that ab cruncher thing I asked her to suggest something that's easier.. lol I know that was wrong.. lol... hey I want to have fun too I'm turning 40 in August and I want to get toned and in a regular exercise regimen.. sometimes the gym can be a little intimidating... Okay give me feedback...

04-03-2006, 07:58 PM
I got my weightlifting in this evening and I just ran at work. It was very busy. But that's a good thing because it's snowing here. So much for biking today.

04-04-2006, 11:03 AM
In my woolly socks, heavy sweats, tshirt, sweat shirt, jacket, toque and mitts (and I wished I'd had a scarf) ... I biked 5.6 km's. Brrrr.

I'm doing a metric flip on y'all. It's easier for me to figure because a country block is 2 kms. Easier than adding all those miles and quarters. So rounded out for simplicity ... 25 kms a week for 100 kms in April.

04-04-2006, 04:26 PM

Would you mind if I joined? I need some exercise accountability.
I just want to stay consistent with getting in cardio (elliptical), other things will come. I exercise M-F, and Saturday is optional.

Last night:
4.6 miles on the elliptical (55 minutes).

Want to get back to running again, but I haven't run since I was in the 180's and I guess I'm too afraid to really try, being so heavy. I hate failing!

04-05-2006, 12:19 AM
Wow Susan, You're my hero!! I can't believe that you went biking in this cold weather... Way to go :high:

Today I had a great leg workout... I did 2 sets of 9 leg exercises in the Oxygen Glutes Magazine...

04-05-2006, 04:02 PM
Last night:
10 mins walking track warmup
60 mins elliptical (4.5mi)

04-05-2006, 04:21 PM
Girlie! 60 minutes on the elliptical. You may be a new one of my heroes!

32 km/hr wind. 2C :ebike: 4 kms! Today I wore a scarf!

04-05-2006, 11:54 PM
Susan -- YOU are my new hero, going biking in that kind of weather, sheeshh :faint:...

Today, I ran to and from the gym (5k), worked back and bis at the gym, tonight it was swimming for an hour...

04-06-2006, 09:06 AM
Then fitday said that was worth 67 calories. Oi! There's no accounting for windspeed!

04-06-2006, 10:41 AM
Last night:

5 mins walking for warmup, 59 mins elliptical (4.3 mi).
I should have just done that last minute, huh?
It was kinda killing me toward the end.

Thanks...it's the only exercise I can halfway stand so I'm going to stick with it for now. And, if I didn't have my ipod and some rockin tunes, I wouldn't be able to make it! It's my hour of the day to hang out with myself and listen to music...

04-06-2006, 03:52 PM
Ah, yes! The power of music. Really helps doesn't it?
We will forgive you the one minute. Congratulations on admitting that you were a minute short. I fear that some folks think they're fooling somebody when the round up.

I biked 5.6 kms today. Much nicer weather. I still was pushing wind but a little more exertion probably won't hurt me.

04-06-2006, 04:10 PM
Thursday -- chest and tricep, 1hr run

04-09-2006, 01:51 AM
I would like to join. I am going to make my goal a minimum of 4 days of exercise of some type, at least 30 minutes at a time.

April 8 Walked at mall 30 minutes

04-09-2006, 11:15 AM
Welcome dustcatcher!

I'll have to change my sig because I didn't get my 1/4 of my 100 kms done last week. I'll go biking in a few minutes here and try to do better this week.

04-09-2006, 12:59 PM
But this week is looking up. 5 miles today (8 kms)

04-09-2006, 02:17 PM
Ran 12k this morning, I'm freakin' pooped!!

04-09-2006, 07:30 PM
Ilene - I wish I could say I just ran 5k!!! That's awesome!

I don't usually exercise on the weekends, but I did have a softball scrimmage game today. First game is Friday.

Thursday and Friday I did one hour on the elliptical.
On Thursday night, I reached a goal of hitting 10,000 strides in an hour - it ended up being 4.8mi....but now I would like to hit 5 miles in an hour. I might take a while.

I'm really frustrated because I gained 2.6 pounds at weigh in on Saturday...and after all that exercise. My food was okay. I think it was because I was feeling bloated (my first TOM since starting WW). And my leader asked me if I had eaten soy sauce the day before and I had - I ate Chinese stir-fry on Friday. I had a good week and it's just so frustrating. How can you gain that much in a week?

So I'm going to just do my hour of cardio every day again this week and see what happens. I hope it all comes right back off.

04-09-2006, 08:30 PM
Girlie -- If TOM is there and you had soya sauce don't fret too much about it, just keep at it...

04-09-2006, 09:40 PM
Today walked at mall 30 minutes

04-10-2006, 04:10 PM
4 kms today. I stopped to talk with my neighbour. He thinks I should raise the seat on my bike. Says that it's too low and that's hard on my knees. Any thoughts anyone?

04-10-2006, 07:54 PM
Newbie here. :)

I did 20 minutes on the elliptical today (vs my normal hour:()
And danced around with the kiddo for a half hour or so.

My goal for this week is to be active every day...and hit the gym at least 2 more times.

04-18-2006, 12:13 AM
Did 30 minutes on the rebounder (alternating one minute as fast as I could with two minutes more moderately) and 30 min strength training with my stability ball / resistance tube combo. My abs might be very mad at me tomorrow.

04-18-2006, 09:17 AM
Oh my gosh folks we're laggin here!

I like mad abs. I feel like they're still using calories the next day :)

I've been spending some time redecorating but that uses calories. My biking is falling behind. I'll try again today.

04-18-2006, 01:28 PM
There ya go! I had to go to the post office, so I biked. 9.6 kms! That's much better.

04-18-2006, 01:43 PM
Good for you Susan, you're making me want to take my bike out, but it's in the rafters in the garage gotta get DH to take it down... I did back and bis at the gym, washed windows, 9k run later at 4PM...:sunny: and bright here!

04-18-2006, 01:56 PM
It is gorgeous here as well. Just beautiful, cloudless ... about 19 degrees. Awesome!

04-19-2006, 01:22 PM
Same weather again! And I biked to the store again. At last those kilometers are adding up. I might get my 100 in in April yet.

04-19-2006, 03:42 PM
20C and :sunny: here!! Gotta love that :D...

Back and biceps - done
30 min of hill runs - done
swimming -- later tonight

04-20-2006, 12:57 PM
I have to cram things in this morning cuz I work at 3 pm. Biked 4.5 kms. It's too nice out to work!

04-20-2006, 02:19 PM
Nice and :sunny: here too Susan ....
-- shoulders
-- 10k bike ride
-- 9k run

04-20-2006, 02:41 PM
I just feel so blessed. Is it supposed to stay this nice for a few more days?

Editted to say ... Ilene you got your bike out!

04-20-2006, 02:45 PM
Editted to say ... Ilene you got your bike out!:yes: Hubby got it out of the garage rafters it was an awesome ride ... It's supposed to stay nice here till Friday evening ... Rain Saturday and nice Sunday :carrot:

04-20-2006, 04:17 PM
For the last two days, I've been traveling, and have had to limit cardio. I did fit in, however, 15 minutes on the stairs of the house i've been staying in both days, and also 35 min. of strength training with my resistance band, both days. So I'm going to call that pretty good, considering the circumstances.

04-21-2006, 07:13 PM
The wind got the best of me today, I only biked 3.6 kms.

04-22-2006, 01:02 PM
6 kms on my bike today. And If I pulled DH's Flyers' cap down low enough the drizzle didn't stick to my glasses! Gotta find me my own Red Wings' hat er Avalanche maybe.

04-23-2006, 01:20 PM
I got rained in today! So 5.6 kms and I was wet! I have some ground to make up this week if I'm going to accomplish that 100 kms in April. Who knows what this week will bring!

04-23-2006, 02:11 PM
Susan -- biking in the rain? Wow, that's dedication, I'm positive you'll meet your April goal...

As for me I've taken 3 days of reast :o ...

04-24-2006, 01:05 PM
Sat, Sun, and Today - back in my groove. 35 minutes of rebounder, 45 minutes of stability ball and resistance bands, all three days. so glad to be home.

04-24-2006, 02:03 PM
I did 30 mins each of dance type cardio and weights for legs with my precious reruns of Jeopardy. Now the sun's coming out, I might get for my bike ride as well.
What's a rebounder?

04-24-2006, 02:38 PM

Check out that thread about the rebounder - its a mini trampoline. I jog on mine (2 minutes average speed, 1 minute sprinting) for 35 min - its great for your lymphatic system and really gets the heart pumping and the sweat flying. Plus, its quiet enough that you can watch TV, and its easy on the knees because there is no hard "stop" of hitting the ground like in jogging, you just glide back up because of the elasticity of the trampoline. You can also do jumping jacks on them, or just bounce up and down.

04-24-2006, 07:47 PM
That sounds like fun. I think resistance bands would be fun too.

04-24-2006, 09:17 PM
The weather cleared and I did go for a short bike ride. The first hill I came to reminded me that I'd already done legs today!

I also realised that to get my 100 k in in April, I have to bike 40 kms in the next 6 days. Oi!

04-25-2006, 02:42 PM
Yet another day of my routine - 35 min rebounder, 45 min resistance bands and stability ball. Excited that I appear to be on track, also that I've had a lot of luck getting myself out of bed an hour and a half earlier to fit in the exercise. Want to get myself on a sleep schedule that promotes workouts in the morning, because my track record is pretty clear that if I have to work out in the evening, I won't do it.

04-25-2006, 04:10 PM
Today a quick back, chest, biceps, tricep workout... run at 4pm...

04-26-2006, 12:49 PM
Still on track - 35 min rebounder, 45 min resistance. Feeling good and getting into the groove :-). Plan to up rebounder time, if poss, by 5 min tomorrow for extra hard workout. Also added an additional move onto the rebounder that -really- worked my calves, just to mix it up.

04-26-2006, 03:54 PM
Was feeling especially perky today - added an arm workout with 5 lb. weights. The stability ball workout I do includes all major muscle groups, but the little extra kick on my arms was nice.

04-27-2006, 12:47 PM
Stability Ball and cardio this morning - didn't have time to kick up to 40 minutes, but stayed in at 80% of max heart rate for 30 of the 35 minutes, so I'm happy with it. Plan on putting in a leg workout on my lunch.

04-27-2006, 01:48 PM
I know I'm posting this all over the place but I'm excited about it. I got my heart rate monitor!

04-28-2006, 12:48 PM
This morning - woke up feeling like a workout was the last thing I wanted - actually hit the snooze button, intending to take today off...then in about 5 minutes felt so bad about being lazy that I got up and got my workout in...30 min. cardio, 40 min. stability ball/resistance bands.

Of course, once I DID it I felt good - but very proud of me for getting out of bed, it was definitely a fight.

Will do arms/shoulders/abs on my lunch.
