On this one I think we can all pick our own "Easter Dress" finish date.
My Easter Dress WI date will be: April 14th
My WI weight will be: 149 (that'll be a goal of 4 pounds lost)

Okay the 14th it is. I will loose 5lbs by that date. It will be a third of my wanted weight loss. I've never commited to an actual target before. Never in such a public place. I feel quite nervous. But, it maybe the kick in the caboose that I need to get it done.

Good Day All, I am in on this. New here as well. I am looking forward to just wearing a dress that is on my closet that I may not have been in for awhile- Kind of like a whole new wardrobe in that very back of my closet that I have not been able to fit into for awhile. As far as the challange I am going for a firm 6. May not seem like much but have a week vacation coming that will be in challange in it self. I am down 29 lbs since Jan 1. With that said if I can take a trip and still be down 6 I will be thrilled.
I have read many of your post and you gals are all doing great. I am VERY impressed. I am looking forward to checking in on a regualar basis. Happy first day of spring!!!!

Well I think I had a cholesterol sandwich for breakfast. It was a 3 egg omelet, with cheese, bacon, ham, sausage, sour cream, tomatoes, and salsa in it. If it doesn't give me a heart attack, maybe it will help me drop some pounds by keeping me full all day? Hoping anyway. I didn't eat it all, but I think I over did the fat of it. Atkins says you lose more with more fat, but I have to wonder about that since fat has so many more calories than regular protein.
Anyway I have to go to work early today I'm hoping such a big breakfast will tide me over through 6 hours of work without food. (I normally work 4).
It is amazing to me how being "honest" makes me feel so much more like I can do this thing. I didn't want to change my ticker, because it was at the lowest weight I've hit since doing this and I kept thinking it would be back in a day or two. But looking at that number and knowing it didn't reflect the truth, that I still had to lose to get BACK to that number was discouraging me. So after changing it yesterday I feel more like I'm working on goals I can reach. I'm setting a new goal for Friday, I want to be one pound less than my lowest so far this attempt. 240. Was down to 245 today, so that is 5 pounds in two days. Yeah that is probably a lot, but since I'm back on induction and since on Sunday morning I was at 242, I figure it is only 2 pounds plus a lot of water. Might make it.

Digestion and metabolism all freaked out after adding probiotics and fiber supplements.. I'm up again. I wigged out when I got a big 191 this morning. I'm hoping it's absorbtion from the fiber.. but i feel yucky. My wonderful 12s I bought in November hardly zip. I feel stretched at the seams! Decided to go back to strict Level 1 Somersizing (food combining). Garrr....

Hope all is well for everyone - keep it up!
With 3 days of induction behind me, the scale stopped going up and went DOWN! I am now down 1 from the start (3 from yesterday). I am going to see what the scale says on Sunday and re-evaluate my goal. I was hoping to lose 5 week one, 3 week 2, then 2 weeks 3 and 4 for a total of 12.
If I lose less than 5 this week, I will adjust my goal accordingly, but I am still hoping for 2 lbs in weeks 2-4.
Have a great day!

Hello. I'd like to join. I have just started Atkins again. I would like to make April 16th my deadline. I would like to lose 5lbs by then. Now that I am 36, it seems that I have to earn every pound I lose! I've been doing another diet for over 3 weeks and exercising 5-6 days a week, but I've only lost 2.5 lbs!
:( So, I am going to try very hard to make sure I lose this 5 lbs by Easter. Wish me luck!

Im going to change up my eating a bit in a few days....but Im still in on this challenge.
When I get my menus figured out, I'll post them again.
As for a reward, I had planned a bikini wax. Now, I don't know if that is much of a "treat", so maybe that is why I am not losing? *lol*
Anyway, I started induction on Sunday. That morning I weighed 155.5. I have posted my food logs below - I THINK I have been right on track for induction. My ketostix started changing color quite early (and still do). However, I have been up all days but Wendesday. Today I was 157.
I am getting kind of frustrated, but am hoping that 1) it is something to do with tom (I gain a lot when I ovulate, which could be now), 2) I was so dehydrated from tons of diet coke each day that I just need to gain some healthy water weight before anything will happen, or 3) the mass amounts of meat I have been eating are not "exiting" properly, causing a higher reading on the scale.
I am still going to give this some time. I will remain on induction for at least two full weeks UNLESS I gain another 5 lbs. It's just really frustrating and makes me want a diet coke and some rasin bran (really a ring-ding, but I would settle for raisin bran).
Hope all goes well today!

I thought I would check in. All is going well. This is the first time that I have seen such great results so quickley. I have been faithfull to the plan and it shows. I am going to add another 3lbs to my target for the 14th of April as I have already reached my 5lb goals. That is even with a weekend of being surrounded by chocolate and sugar. I am in a sorority here in Indianna and we make over 2500 chocolate easter eggs to sell. I spent 2 whole days doing this. All for charity. But I didn't cheat. I even lost with all the chasing around that I did.

Lacey, How long have you been on induction? You have come so far and are getting so close to your goal, maybe OWL would be a good idea - kind of start working out of the losing stage and into the maintaining stage. Good Luck!
I had a lot of events the past two days and was NOT good. So, after 12 days on induction and 2 days off, I woke up this morning to find its TOM and I weigh the EXACT same as I did two weeks ago. Hopefully some of that is TOM gain and I will see some type of a loss?
Anyhow, I am going to not dwell on the past two days and see how fast I can get back into ketosis.
Hope all are well!

I've been on induction about 10 months now give or take some mixed drinks and a box of girl scout cookies
I'm going to read the book for the fifth time and go from there.
How is everyone?!? Sorry I'm not in here more, things have been busy, but that's good!!

I think instead of weight loss being my goal I should make exercising regularly and daily intake of water my goal. Start with the basics

ok, yeah, so umm....I wanted to fast to drop into deep ketosis. Instead four o'clock came and I drove to town, got 'groceries' and then procceded to make myself and eat:
an entire package of SF pudding
a HUGE bowl of cottage cheese, PB & SF pudding blended together
a 44 oz. diet pepsi
and 3 containers of SF Jello.
that was the first time I've tried to fast and I've learned my lesson. My body and mind are just not strong enough to do that. What the **** am I doing to myself???? The old me is thinking that she can take over and that just isn't going to happen. I will just have to STEP IT UP with exercise and eating because I AM going to reach 150 and my stubborn big ol fat pig in my head is just going to have to freakin' deal with it!!!!
ok, I realize that I sound like a psycho but I needed to get that all out. So thanks for lovin' the psycho in me :D

Fasting is always easiest the second day! The first day of any fast is difficult. It is like dropping into ketosis really fast, and we all know that path into ketosis is hard even when doing it the LC way. With fasting it is harder, but quicker. Don't feel bad. It certainly isn't for everyone. I think for me it is the hardest thing to remember that I'm fasting when I've made that decision (at least the first day). You are so used to taking little "nibbles" of things or even licking your fingers after you get some food on them that you have prepared for someone else. Even those little tastes are something to avoid if you are trying to fast.
I haven't done more than a one day fast in a VERY long time. I think I could do it easily, the hard part would be having the energy to work, deal with the family, cook for them etc while fasting. I once went 8 days with nothing but water, and could have gone longer but it was worrying my mom and she talked me out of it.
Still the weight loss is wonderful on a fast, and the lack of hunger is amazing (after the first day that is), but the cold and the tiredness (or lack of energy) is difficult. I've known people who really thought fasting was good for them. They felt it "cleansed" the body or something. I remember one lady telling us that if you fast to the point of being "cleansed" that your breath and your sweat doesn't "smell". I always wondered about that since I never fasted for that long... She was (in some ways) a little nutty about it, so I wouldn't put too much stock in her words. Still she had a system where she just did it and kind of put life on hold for awhile while fasting. Didn't cook for her family etc during that time. I always thought that was a little odd, maybe even unbalanced. But I did always wonder about whether there was any truth to the idea that fasting could make it so that your body didn't have odor.

very interesting info Sherry  I know in church camp we fasted, but I don't think I've done it since then and that was 15 years ago. I might try it again, ecspecially since I feel so awful today, it is a reminder of how not great all that stuff is. I'm just happy that I didn't eat any of the chex mix, oreos or ice cream that we had.
 Lacey. I agree with Sherry the first day of fasting is the worst. But I also don't recommend that you do it all the time. And you are right....at least you didn't go totally bonkers and eat TERRIBLE stuff.

well today I should fast. Today and tomorrow. My scale isn't dropping and I have to wear my dress on Wednesday. I don't want to look like a stuffed sausage in it.
My daughter is very excited. I've been buying her little things to go with her dress for a few days now. She got some blue nail polish last night which we have decided won't look good, and a little hairpiece that she just loves. I bought some silver ribbon and made her a choker with it and we bought a blue cloth rose (with feathers on it) and attached that to the choker. With the jacket I made and the white dress and some beige panty hose and silver shoes she will look like a princess.
At least I hope that is what she looks like. I don't want anyone thinking I'm trying to make her grow up too fast... That is kind of what I'm worried about.
I will get some pictures of her when we are all ready to go and see if I can post them.
I haven't lost the weight that I wanted to for this challenge, not even close. So again another challenge that failed to get me to my goal. I guess I'm going to have to just stop with the weight goals and look for something else to keep me motivated.

Nope, not close at all. My goal for this challenge was 232. I'm still 10 pounds higher! But if I can just wear the dress Wednesday night without it clinging too tightly I'll be satisfied.

Well today is the day I was shooting for. (I know I said the 14th, but I made a mistake it is today). I'm not at the 232 I wanted, but I am at 239. I'm not sure the dress is going to fit. It didn't fit yesterday when I tried it on, so that is a disappointment. It is cut rather tight around the hips and belly. I can wear it, but not feel good in it. We'll see what this evening brings, whether I feel like trying it or not.
Still 232 feels within sight since I finally broke through the 230's barrier.

Awww... Sherry, I was going by the tickers.... I haven't got down to where I want to be either. I was 176 in January before I changed BC pills and skyrocketed up 15. I've lost 5 of those 15 on this challenge, so I don't feel too bad.... But I understand how you are feeling! don't give up!!!! As long as my wedding dress fits by like September, I'll be happy! :p
Today's eats:
B-oatmeal, kefir, sf syrup

Well we went to our special event tonight. My daughter looked beautiful. She was the prettiest girl there. I know, that shouldn't be my focus, but I loved looking at her, she was beautiful. I took some pictures I'll try and upload them when I get a chance. She had on a hairpiece I bought her and I wound some silver ribbon through it, a choker with the same silver ribbon and a blue cloth and feather rose attached to the choker. The dress was white with a blue satin short jacket over it (with a white "frog" style closure). I made the jacket and it looked nice. Then white pantyhose and sparkly silver shoes. She got so many compliments.
I wore a skirt and jacket, not the dress I wanted to fit into. But I looked ok too.
I had to laugh, there is this young man that my daughter kind of likes, and he is so shy he never talks. So I'm always talking to him, trying to encourage him to not be so shy. He usually talks to me no problem, but tonight I think my daughter looking so pretty made him extra shy. He couldn't seem to even say anything as long as she was near. In the mean time his parents were borrowing his cell phone to take a picture of my daughter. He was so tongue tied it was hilarious. I knew then that he must like her a little too. Otherwise it wouldn't have mattered to him that much.
I told my daughter that later and she blushed.
Anyway scale dipped another half pound and I made my goal for the month. 238. Setting a new goal of 235. Then one for 232. For this challenge I was already supposed to be at 232, but it didn't happen. Maybe before long it will. I'm in moderate to deep ketosis.

No I wouldn't call it "true love" maybe "childhood crush". My daughter likes different boys as often as she changes her shoes (sort of). But the shy young man is someone I like and value. So I thought it was cute that he seemed even extra tongue tied, just because my daughter was looking so cute.
Today is the 14th I know a lot of you set your goals for this day, how is everyone doing?
I originally set my goal for this date (although it should have been the 12th) and I think that I may make it today to the goal I set. 232 is what I wanted and the scale this morning read 233.5. Since I'm fasting the weight is coming off really fast. In the evening it is usually a pound or two lower than it was in the morning, so I may just make that number. Hope so.
Yesterday was an especially busy day for me and I got tired. So I almost broke the fast due to that. I did eat a couple of tiny amounts of a couple of things, but I didn't eat much and didn't actually break the fast (to my way of looking at it) because the amounts were so small and I resisted the urge to give it up all together. So I'm not sure how much longer I will go on this way, but I've loved the results so far. I started the week (on Monday) at 245 and this morning when I first got on the scale it read 233.5 That is 11.5 pounds in only 4 days. Yeah I know, it is mostly water. Yeah I know it will come back on as soon as I eat. But I really needed to know that my body was capable of losing more. I was getting discouraged to the point of giving up last week with all the ups and downs and my body acting like it just didn't want to give up any of these extra fat pounds.
So we'll see. My record for fasting was 8 days. I haven't gotten there yet. I did that when I was fairly thin, so I believe I can last that long at least. But we'll see. One day at a time and at the end I hope to be making good choices and breaking it gently and reasonably.

Just out of curiousity how do you break a fast? It seems like meat would be hard on your system to jump back into. Do you introduce veggies first?
Just curious.

04-14-2006, 01:27 PM
The site recommended going to juices first. I've broken it with milk before because I felt that would be easiest on my stomach. I'm not sure what I will do this time. I might try the juice thing. Maybe vegetable juice rather than fruit juice (which seems too acidic to me).

I checked this morning and only lost 1 pound overall. I gained 4 overnight, I'm thinking water weight, I hope it's not the new pills. I can't afford to gain anymore! :(
So much for this challenge, hopefully the next one will be better.
