Thank you, 2F. You're looking lovely.

BTW, if you're interested, Kylie (Kykaree) will be able to help you with a contact at Sunday Sport. She was in it last weekend but I'm saying no more. You'll have to ask her for details. (Note to readers: SS is a newspaper specialising in topless pictures and far-fetched stories.)

Public announcement: I am recommitting myself to clean eating. All support welcomed!

2F, you look FANTASTIC! Got any "befores" you want to share?

Slow start for me today. The alarm didn't go off and luckily my first client isn't until 9am. I'm still sore from my back workout last THURSDAY, a one hour run on Saturday to make up in advance for the horrible eating I knew I was going to do, then sluggish hockey last night. I was sluggish- everyone else is much better (and bigger)

SB- I need to recommit with you. Every weekend I've had some sort of food event, then it just keeps going. Next one is my father's 75th b'day party on 3/18. I'm keeping it clean until then! There, it's out in public, you all will hold me to it, right?

Today is chest and cardio.
Have a good one,

Mel

Forgot to ask. Frus, how was the careers event at your old school? I bet they were all *pretty* impressed.

Thank you all!

I saw those Sunday Sport articles Careers went well, not many small children to talk to, not many old gals to impress but the ones that were there were gobsmacked or green with envy

Oh I do have some before pics, they're on my home computer so if I remember I'll post them tonight or maybe Wednesday.

I am recommiting to clean eating too! But clean eating with plenty of good carbs to fuel the kickboxing training! I've had porridge with an egg in it for lunch.

I managed a clean weekend day - Saturday went really well and I had my sensible head on. Then Sunday we went for dinner - oh it was delish, but then we went to another pub for a drink and I ended up diving into a big ice cream sundae with my mum! And of course granny gave me chocolate biscuits and cake for the train, which I had to eat. It would've been rude not to! At least one free day is better than 2 or 3 free days!

I'm back kickboxing today. I'm a bit tired, but that's just from the weekend so I should be ok. I'll get an early night tonight.

Default Day 1 of 6

PAT, et al, success at Macy's believe it or not, found 4 pairs of workout pants, size large petite, had to pay full price but they are the Macy brand so were about $20 and feel nice too. I thought the cropped route was going to be next too. I am a January baby too.

Walked up to the Bally's for the Self Magazine Challange Event, signed on for a free 3 month membership, not sure how they are making any money from this but hey, they open at 5 am, have a sauna and a pool and free weights are free weights. I do not like the locker room too many mirrors and not the reason you think. I don't wear my glasses at the gym so I am totally lost with the mirrors and wandering around a new place. Anyway, the elliptical clock is not right, so I thought 30 minutes and it was 40 so at least that was ok. Nice UBWO, and 125 crunches in various styles. I am going to start pushing that number some more, I am making progress.

MEL - Wonderful to celebrate 75 years, worth a slice of cake.

Plan for the week is to stay sane, I am working 3 nights this week, hopefully not past 9 on two of those and DD's breakfast at school, taking a big fruit salad and some FF SF yogurt so I can keep on track.

Not sure I will ever like Turkey bacon, gave it a try now for about a week. Not really working for me.

Default Faboooooooooooo!

2Fru you rock!
You are MUCH better in *real life* than your avatar suggests

This pic is very inspiring as are your posts. This morning, I had started to put my mind around the fact I am still getting over a nasty cold and feel very tired, which segues into considering it's Monday, maybe I'll take a "rest" day from working out, etc. etc. Then, I spot your comment "I'm back kickboxing today. I'm a bit tired, but that's just from the weekend," and it sets me straight.

Thanks for sharing this solid piece of encouragement.

Jean

ILENE - Yeah, I am thinking the turkey bacon, and I bought the leanest one out that is just not happening. I think some things are not meant to be. There is no substitute for real bacon and I am not going to adapt to it. So I am happy with my omlets, and scambled eggs and calling it a day. I was worried I would be getting bored without some other protein, but to tell the truth after 3 + years, I am thinking the eggs are still good and I mix them up with LF or FF cheese and veggies in the am.

My mantra for the month of March is that if I can hit the gym on Monday morning, I can make my 5 out of 7 days in the week. Of course, puts pressure on Mondays, but thanks to those presses, my shoulders are wide enough and strong enough to handle it.

Lisa, I get these things over here called bacon medallions. Basically they are thin slices of bacon with all the rind/fat cut off. Even the scraggy "tail" bit you get on one side of back bacon. They are 26 kcals for one bacon medallion. I eat TONS of these! Real bacon, but lean! Perhaps if you can't find them, try and just take the meat out of the bacon rasher (or can you only get streaky bacon over there?)

Jean, I know I'm just a bit bushed today and considering last week when I was recovering from overtraining and then got pounded with flu I feel much better. I know I only need a good night's sleep to get me back on track. If you are still a bit poorly you might want to listen to your body. When I'm feeling demotivated or just plain lazy I have this little quiz stuck on my wall to determine if I'm really overtrained or not.

See how much you agree with the following statements and award yourself:

1 - strongly disagree
2 - disagree
3 - neutral
4 - agree
5 - strongly agree

Q1) I slept really well last night
Q2) I am looking forward to today's workout
Q3) I am optimistic about my future performance
Q4) I feel vigorous and energetic
Q5) My appetite is great
Q6) I have very little muscle soreness

If you score over 20, then you have pretty much recovered, if you score below 20, then rest or take it easy at the gym.

Unfortunately I forgot about that little quiz the past couple of weeks and ended up feeling a bit beaten!

So yeah, don't be lazy but don't overtrain either

Morning LWL!

Frus - you look great, and I was poking around over at UK Chicks, and saw the other photos too.

Liza - congrats on the workout clothes! And how Bally's can make $$ offering a free 3 months is beyond me. Guess they hope enough folks will make a longer commitment? I joined my gym when they were first opening, and got in without a "joining" fee.

Lots of recommitting going on here. I'm backing into it. Seems like every time I put a commitment out "on the street" I take it as a challenge to see how fast I can break it. So for now, I'm quietly taking one day at a time (sometimes 1 hour ) That being said, I had a good weekend foodwise, heck exercise wise too. And I'm back at the gym tonight. DH has a bad cold, which I assume he caught on the airplane ride home, and I'm trying hard not to get it.

Hi LWL,

I'm recommitting to the old routine! Today was the first day that I went to my new working place. I was a bit anxious but it all turned out OK.
The kids & i still have to get used a bit to the house being quite empty. Luckily the new furniture will come in tomorrow. I went to powerclass yesterday, but I will not be able to go to the gym tomorrow because of the furniture delivery I think.

The rest of today is going to be fairly busy as well. I'm going to take some rest, I still am tired from last week. 2Fru: if I do your quiz I should listen to my body and take a rest. I 'll follow your advice.

Have a great day all,
rabbit
