I am not sure if this is an appropriate place to post this, but I am interested in buying a scale, so that I can better measure my portion sizes, and figure out the calories.
When I look on Amazon.com reviews, there aren't all that many and the scales seem to break fairly rapidly.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced scale?
Or tell me which forum this question would be better to post too?
Thanks

I have a Soehnle Future scale and love it. I bought it from Amazon, and even bought one for sister Jennifer for her birthday last year. I think all of the models by Soehnle have a good reputation, though they can be a little pricey. The Soehnle Myra is only $29.99, and the reviews look good.
Overstock occasionally has Soehnle scales at very good prices, though I just checked and didn't see any right now :(
Mine is the Good Cook brand and I love it. Don't know if Amazon has them or not (mine was bought for me by my husband for Christmas) but I think it was around $30.

I use a Salton brand scale and I love it! I picked it up at Kitchen Kaboodle, but I'm sure you'd be able to find it at Bed, Bath & Beyond or a Crate and Barrel.
The reason I love mine so much is that I can set large plates of dishes on it, then turn it on, take off the dishes and add my food item and then place it back on for a net weight (food only). It also allows me to measure in grams. A lot of dry ingredients are listed in grams on packages, so it is soooo convenient for me to measure. However, it measures the grams in five gram increments, but I don't care, I still love it.
I bought the scale back when I signed up with Weight Watchers for the first time...that was in latter 2000.

I got a cool one at Target for 14.99. I have had no problems with it and it matches my kitchen decor.

Ebay, ebay, ebay! I got mine, (cuisineart brand I think, does that sound right?) for less than $10 including shipping. Works great.

I have the target scale too! It's the best one i've had yet! It has a huge bowl and big numbers! I highly recommend it!

I have the Good Cook scale also. It weighs to 2 gram increments. A little pricier than some of the others listed at about $30, but I think the accuracy makes it worth the extra cash.
