Today started off great, I went to the gym before work and did my cardio and circuit training :hyper:.I feel pretty good right now but am expecting to hit a brick wall sometime around 3pm :dizzy:. I'm also eating out twice today, it's a co-workers 50th bday so we're doing lunch then I'm going out to dinner with the husband this evening. I need willpower dust mailing to me, asap!
Today I will eat:-
Breakfast - pre gym: 1/2 wholewheat bagel, 1tbls peanut butter, post gym:bowl oatmeal w/1tbls honey, 1/4 cup walnuts (these were a big mistake, 20g of fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll go easy on these next time), coffee.
Snack - banana
Lunch - we're going to Logan's Roadhouse, I've checked out the online menu and they offer salmon so am going to have that w/steamed veggies
Snack - if I'm still hungry, kashi bar
Dinner - we're going to Beauregards, best chicken wings evah! I'm going to have a buffalo chicken salad though, with hot sauce, and no dressing. This will take immense willpower to not order blue cheese dressing, pray for me hahaha!
Water - 2 liters +
Exercise - did 30 mins ellipitcal machine for cardio and 40 mins (getting faster!!!!) circuit training w/weights before work this morning.
Phew! Long post, sorry all!

In an effort to drag myself out of this hole of complacency (or rather busy thinking about other things hole) .... today I'm going to exercise and log my food at fitday. Sounds simple but folks ... when I back slide ..... I back slide!
03-01-2006, 11:31 AM

You been missed and we are glad you are back!!!!
03-01-2006, 02:06 PM
i caved. although not too badly.
i had the smallest salad ever with peanut dressing, prob like a tsp. then i had some H&S soup, and then my chicken and shrimp sauteed. NONE of the rice and NONE of the eggroll. am i banished to the deepest of all hells? :):):)
03-01-2006, 03:19 PM
i changed my plan too
i forgot to bring lunch :( its at home in my fridge,
so i got a lf cottage cheese with pinapple (1 c. total)
and a much needed energy drink (diet) for lunch.
i am already on my 2nd liter of h20 woo hoo.
to revise the plan im going to have soup... AND an egg white scramble with some turkey, spinach and maybe a bit of that feta like cheese... yum!
and btw was very sad to see the scale go up a half a pound this am (had been so good thought for sure it would be down) that i am going to limit my calories a bit more. i was keeping them at around 1500 and now im going to try 1300 for the rest of the week,.. and if that doesnt help 1200 next week.
best wishes for the rest of the day!

Just got back from my co-workers bday lunch, I had the salmon as planned plus broccoli and a baked sweet potato. I also had 2 x mozerella sticks and 1 x chicken wing as appetiser. It gets worse. I co-erced one of my colleagues into splitting a brownie dessert with me, luckily I managed to only eat a couple of bites before he finished it with another colleague.
Dinner tonight, I'm going to have to play it very safe to not go over 1600 cals.
So we're all buckling a little, oh well! It's not like we all went mad and each devoured a bag of hershey kisses!

, 1/4 cup walnuts (these were a big mistake, 20g of fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll go easy on these next time),
Definitely not a mistake. Nuts have a lot of fat, but it is the GOOD fat. Healthy fats are not evil, they are very very very good for you. A 1/4 cup serving is perfect.
Check out these links:
"studies shows that consuming 1 ounce of nuts more than 5 times/week can result in a 25 to 39 percent reduction in coronary heart disease risk among people whose characteristics match those of the general adult U.S. population."
"I love nuts, and I'm happy to assure you that they do have a place in a healthy diet. True, nuts are high in fat, but most of them contain monounsaturated fat that is good for the heart.
In addition to their healthy fat profile, nuts provide you with vitamin E, trace minerals, fiber, and in the case of walnuts, vital omega-3 fatty acids"
I eat a serving of nuts every day - either a handful of almonds/walnuts or sesame seeds on a salad or natural peanut butter on toast. It didn't stop me from losing nearly 70 lbs or keeping it off for a year.

Thanks for the info Glory, I guess I went into a bit of a panic after seeing my fitday figures this morning. After breakfast it was something like 57% fats, 17% carbs 26% protein :D . You gotta admit, that looks scary first thing in the morning!
03-01-2006, 04:28 PM
okay, lunch didn't go so well for me either. the company buys us lunch once a month when it's billing day. we ordered from our favorite shrimp restraunt. i was going to have the grilled chicken breast salad with vinegarrett dressing, but instead i ordered the R&R with fries. that is a roast beef grilled and covered in render-vous (their own garlic and herb cheese spread) on homemade bread. i did only eat half of it and half of the fries. i figure i can have the rest of the sandwich tomorrow and probably throw the fries out because reheated fries just are not good.
so tonight i may just have some tuna for dinner. i may hold off on the pickles for a while and see if that helps my water retention.
but i'm not stressing. i wanted to up my calories today and i guess i did. :(

Excellent post, Glory! I often have almonds or fresh cashews in my salads... and frequently eat all natural peanut butter on dark toast for breakfast. Nuts are very healthy!! Just have to be careful not to eat too MANY but LOL isn't that true of just about everything?? :)
