I don't know about you all, but I am in LOVE with all things maple flavored. The problem is, most recipes calling for maple extract or maple syrup (even reduced sugar syrup) are usually high in fat, sugar, or both. Anybody know of any good, less guilt-inspiring recipes with maple?
I'm a fellow maple lover, and though I don't know that this qualifies as a recipe, I love sugar-free maple syrup poured over a baked sweet potato. It's good for a side dish at dinner or as a hot breakfast!
Maple syrup is one of my favourite things in the world, especially over ice cream or frozen yogurt. I don't worry about the calories, just the serving size, because I feel there are no substitutes. 1 tablespoon good maple syrup & 1/2 cup frozen vanilla yogurt, in a small crysal bowl, eaten slowly, with a very small silver spoon. About 160 calories, worth every one.
