Wanted to mention that although I don't usually post in the evening I do take a moment at the end of the day to ready everyone else's posts for the day. I thank you for your responses to my posts as well. Mornings seem to be the only time I can spare a few moments to type a post.
So last night I broke a tooth. A whole side of a back bottom molar just fell off all the way to the gum line. Ouch, it's a rough month for me financially already in March and I'm sure this is going to cost a bundle. Had the same thing happen on a different tooth in October and it cost over 500 dollars and that was after insurance. Had to have the tooth capped. I hope they can even cap this one without doind a root canal considering how it broke. So, I put a call in to the parents and said ummmm, I might need a loan tomorrow. :o :^:
My sister's birthday is the 3rd of March, my niece is the 10th, my son is the 20th, and my brother is the 27th. My son's party is already planned. Did I mention this month is financially killing me!!! :(
Oh well, I'll let you know how it all turns out in the next episode of Freaky's Life: Living on the Edge. :dizzy:
I hope everyone has a great day.
02-28-2006, 06:28 AM
Ooh, Freaky, OUCH! , that sounds so painful! I sure hope it doesn't end up costing you a bundle. When it rains, it pours, doesn't it always seem that way? You'll get through this, though, with a hug and a prayer.
I have my weight & measure at Curves this morning, and I know the scale isn't going to be too nice to me. I dread going, but it will be just what I need to keep me on track. Yesterday was a great day OP wise, so I'm off to a good start, anyway. I'll catch up with you all later.
02-28-2006, 06:48 AM
I just wanted to pop in a say hi.. we are crazy busy here at home and I just don't find time to post too much - but I am reading when I get time. I hope everyone is feeling good and working well towards their goals.. take care :D
Freaky.. I hope your tooth can get fixed soon. It is woeful when your teeth are sore.. hugs to you
Cottage... I an sending you good vibes for a motivating measurement and weigh in.
I personally am doing ok.. happy to have kept off the two kilos this month and looking for a better month in March as we start to settle down.
02-28-2006, 06:51 AM
Freaky, hope everything goes well at the dentist today. Root canals are no fun, and expensive.
Cottage, way to hang in there with getting weighed and measured. Even if it's not the result you want, at least you'll know. I avoided that part of the "Curves experience" for a while, but I finally got weighed and measured last week. Glad I did.
Well, off to work. I did well staying OP since I was home yesterday. Work's always a mine field of bagels, donuts, cookies, etc., so we'll see how today goes. If someone offers me food today, I might have to hit them over the head with my 32 oz water bottle! ;) Everyone have a great day!
02-28-2006, 06:59 AM
Good Morning Gals!!
Freaky Hoping it isn't too expensive! I hear you on the finances- I cannot wait for this summer when we get a bit of a break with childcare expenses. It is a beating!!
Cottage Good luck today at Curves.
Jana and Marianna Good morning!
Me- The scale (that would be me!) is up this morning. I am going to weigh again tomorrow morning to see what I lost this month. I am not too happy with myself as it seems that everytime I hit a mini-goal or start doing well I screw it up for myself.
Anyhow- need to get moving as I am sitting here in my robe and need to get ready for the day! Have a great one!!
02-28-2006, 07:31 AM
Good morning, Chicquitas~~:coffee:
Just finished a scrambled egg and ww toast. Yum! :)
Freaky, I feel for you on the tooth. I broke one a couple years back eating popcorn. I escaped with just a crown but it still cost $$$. Maybe you can give cards to all the birthday folk with IOU's in them and explain you're having a bad month but would love to treat them to something special later on.
Cottage, good luck with the weigh & measure. Who knows? Maybe the scale and tape will surprise you! :)
Marianna, Jana and Kiko, good morning! Glad to see you all on the Beach!
02-28-2006, 07:33 AM
Good Morning from Indy. Feel like I'm catching a cold. I cannot be sick today! I have to work on my lesson then wake up the girls and go to Bible Study Fellowship. Then stop at the store for lunch food. Home to babysit my good friends 2 kiddos for a little while... good thing as they play w/my kiddos. Just home stuff to do until evening when I have a PL show to do. I have to get up in front of people and talk, etc. and hope that I don't have a runny nose! I don't feel bad really, just know there is something going on in my nose!
You won't believe........okay, sure you will......... I ate a couple of small pieces of that left over pizza yesterday! UG! well I heated it up for my daughter who didn't eat it and it was just sitting there and I was so hungry and didn't have anything planned (okay key word there) for me! I was out of chicken and turkey, etc. which is what I usually would have.
If you know Donatos.... it was that really thin crust but loaded w/pepperoni. Okay, that was the worst of the day. At work, the girls got Steak N Shake and it smelled so good but I came home and ate my roasted veggies!
FREAKY: I feel so bad for you and the tooth! I know how you feel about the money and I am terrified of dental work. I hope your parents can help you and I'll hope you don't have too much pain until it is fixed.
Cottage: Have fun at Curves! So good to keep track of measurements and you might be happily surprised!
Marianna: Good Job keeping off the kilos!
Jana: Have a good day at work and Just say NO! I'll join you in drinking lots of water today!
Kiko: Good Morning! Looks like you and I are hanging around the same weight!
02-28-2006, 07:44 AM
Good Tuesday morning, Chickies.
Freaky, I feel your pain! I seem to have spent half my life and $$$ at the dentist the past year. Hey, my sister's birthday is March 3 too!
Cottage, good for you! I'm sure you'd rather stay here in the coop and play but I admire you for sticking with Curves. I wish there was one close to Delta.
Marianna, nice to see you pop in and also to hear you've kept off that 2 kilos! Is it still really hot over there or are you moving into fall?
Jana, I find being at home harder than when I am out and about somehow. Yesterday turned into a bit of a carb fest, alas! :(
Kiko, is that a new avatar? Sweet little girl! I'm with you on screwing up! Never mind, March is OUR month!
Mamacita, you asked me something the other day and I didn't answer, nor can I remember what it was. Was it about puppies? "We" are expecting April 30.
Debbie, of course we believe you ate pizza. Good for you to 'fess up! Just glug a lot of water and focus on mindful eating today and forgive yourself.
It's gloriously sunny here and my kitchen smells wonderful from the bouquet of pink lilies I bought myself last week. They were all in bud and are just wonderful now. I try to have flowers on my kitchen table even in winter. In the summer I go nuts and might even have four or five bouquets.
This morning I go to pick up my darling Lucy after her assignation with Baggins out west. The breedser thinks she needs to lose a bit of weight so I'll take her to my vet to get a baseline weight. I've signed all three of us up for March weightloss targets! After that, I need to clean and disinfect her carrier case. A neighbour is getting a rescue Shar-Pei today and definitely will need a crate until the critter gets socialized. Those "Wrinkle Dogs" can be difficult and she may have bitten off more than she can chew.
There's a big batch of split pea soup in the crockpot right now, just the thing to be cooking on this sunny but freezing cold day. It's -17ºC/1ºF right now. I'm sure glad my car has heated seats on days like this.
Happy Pancake Day/Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras!
02-28-2006, 07:57 AM
Good morning everyone! Just wanted to drop in real quick, I have the day off of work. A schedule mental health day of sorts. But really I just have some errands to run so I'd better get to it. I'll stop back later on.
Freaky - Dental work is so expensive. We don't have dental coverage and my oldest daughter had to get braces back in October and then my son busted out his two front teeth in November. Needless to say, we had to hit our savings for all that. My son didn't need root canals for his teeth, they just got bonded and we'll cap them when he's about 14.
02-28-2006, 08:01 AM
Good morning all. March tomorrow..time to ease back into the fitness routine following my week off...vicious sinus infection. Took all the energy I had just to hold me head up, let alone exercise! And of course a few "comfort foods" crossed my self-pitying lips while I was home sick. No excuses in March.
Freaky...my dental office is great about working out divided payment plans. As long as you communicate up front and are regular with payments...they will likely let you string it out as long as you want to. Sorry you have to go through it...I don't have much counsel on the hassle....grin and bear it sounds a bit cliche!'
Cottage...I feel your pain. But look at all the success you have already had! I am giving you the advice I gave myself this morning...stay the course.
Marianna, Jana and Kiko, and Debbie...I will be joining you with with the extra water today.
Mamacita - I just had the same breakfast....One hour into my day and on plan!
Ruth..I can smell those flowers. In MN...I NEED SPRING badly!
I figure I am 2-3 weeks away from outdoor cycling....my passion. I need at least 40 + degreees to gear up and go out for a ride.
So its "FAT Tuesday," but we don't have to make it that for us.
You all make me smile....and reconfirm that I want to make success mine and share in yours too.
02-28-2006, 08:06 AM
Good morning, chickies! Well, TOM is here and I'm swollen like a balloon! I hopped on the scale the other day and weigh 209 still. That's 6 lbs so far this month. Today is my busy late day. I have to turn in my project tonihgt and give a short powerpoint presentation on it. I'm gonna start working on that in a few minutes. I can't wait for the weekend and it's only Tuesday morning :D ! Have a great day everyone!
02-28-2006, 08:46 AM
Morning Morning Morning!!!!!!!!!!! Wow the Coop is a Cluckin this Morning!!!! :gossip: :cofdate:
Freaky: Yes Yes! Most Dental Offices will set up a payment plan with you to ease the financial burden...If they insist that the crown be paid in full upon insertion you could wear the temporary fer a bit longer than usual...
Cottage: :crossed: on yer weigh in!!!
Jana: ah yes office life! We are a food obsessed nation! Keep that water bottle handy
Debbie: :coach: BACK A WA Y FROM THE PIZZA :jeno:
Ruth: Your house sounds divine!!! When will we know fer sure that Lucy is preggers????????? I knew a Shar-pei breeder..cute dogs --but they are a handful!!!!
Focused: You all make me smile....and reconfirm that I want to make success mine and share in yours too. Back atcha Darlin!
Pearsy: Good luck with your presentation!!!!
HI Kiko and Marianna and 3dmom!

Tonight it's Cola Chicken or Ham steaks fer dinner.... Ok Chickies..have a Loverly Day all!!! :flow2:
02-28-2006, 08:52 AM
:yikes: FAT TUESDAY!!:yikes:
:o Well, it's living up to it's name. My weigh & measure at Curves wasn't good. :o I changed my ticker and am hanging my head in shame. :( My counselor and I talked over my goals, and this month I'm going to concentrate on drinking 64 oz. of plain water every day, working out 5 days a week, and losing 5 lbs. I know I can do it, I've done it before, and maybe after looking at the new number on my ticker, it will give me a swift kick in the arse to stay on track.
 to everybody, and have a super day!
02-28-2006, 09:16 AM
freaky - Good luck with the dentist. I'm really lucky to have dental insurance but I have maxed it out several years due to root canals and crowns. I'm at the age where most of my old fillings are having to be replaced with root canals and some of my crowns are old enough they will have to be replaced soon!
cottage - Thanks for your reply to my post about fasting. That sounds reasonable and was pretty close to what I was thinking about having tomorrow.
Marianna - Great job with the loss!
Jana - I know what you mean about work. I make sure I work from home on Thursdays because that is the day they do the monthly birthday/anniversary celebration. Since they rotate the treats it is hard to resist (especially when they do pie).
Hi, Kiko! Isn't the weather gorgeous! My weight is up after what I ate at the Trainer Development Conference on Saturday. I hoped it would be down after the soup for dinner last night but I just realized the vegetable broth was not reduced sodium! I bet I could use reduced sodium chicken broth instead. I'm going to work on my water today and hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Morning, Mamacita, 3darlings, pearshape and Schatzi!
Debbie - I can't resist pizza either. I was an assistant manager at a pizza place during college and ate it every day and I LOVED it. I never gained weight either but that was probably because it was very physical work. Not like sitting at a computer all day. Good job on resisting the Steak n Shake.
Ruth - Give Lucy a hug from me. I love puppies. We have the cutest ones at the shelter right now.
Focused - One of the managers at work just got back from a week in Louisiana. She always goes and rides on one of the floats (in a small town, not New Orleans). It sounds like so much fun.
Me - We've got a den meeting and a neighborhood meeting tonight. We're just going to have to split up and Brian and I will go to the den meeting. I would have been nice to see everyone but I know they were planning lots of desserts at the block party and I just don't want to be tempted.
02-28-2006, 09:41 AM
Good Morning Chickies -
Freaky: OUCH! I hope everything goes well @ the dentist.
Cottage: Good Luck at Curves today :)
Hope everyone else has a good Tuesday! :grouphug:
Well, I finally made it back to the gym last night (after three weeks). I was dreading getting on the scale, but was quite happy to find out I had lost another 6 lbs. I am now at 209...which means if I meet my March goal of 10 lbs, I'll be under 200. I can't remember the last time I was under 200 (maybe 10 years ago when I was in high school?) Anyway, I had decided I would buy myself this really expensive gym bag as a treat for losing 25lbs...but I think I'm going to buy it now. :D Hopefully this continued weight loss will keep me motivated to stay OP.
Well, I've got to run and actually do work at work! bbl
Have a good day chickies!!
02-28-2006, 09:48 AM
Busy thread this morning, I slept in, I woke up around 7 30, been drinking coffee and lookin at old pictures, Gettin ready for another Movie,, I really enjoy do that,, At least I found a new hobby that dose not evolve around food..(lol)
Freaky~~ So Sorry to hear about your tooth,, My teeth are very soft, I have had that happen to me before,, and it is expensive, ... I wish you the best....
Take Care All...
02-28-2006, 10:22 AM
Morning everyone....I'm not feeling so great today, so this is going to be a short post. My achy, stuffed up and my bed is calling me....I'm off from work tomorrow - so if I can get through today......
Hope everyone has a great day!!
02-28-2006, 10:45 AM
... this month I'm going to concentrate on drinking 64 oz. of plain water every day, working out 5 days a week, and losing 5 lbs. I know I can do it, I've done it before, and maybe after looking at the new number on my ticker, it will give me a swift kick in the arse to stay on track.
Cottage~~ I feel the same way. We have done this before and we can do it again. Let's support each other this month on the water and exercise thing. WE CAN DO THIS:carrot:
Freaky~~so sorry to hear about your tooth.
Congrats to all who lost weight this month!!!!
Me~~Yesterday was my birthday and I was sick :( I spent the afternoon in bed and didn't go out for dinner. DH brought me home a grilled chicken salad and a small DQ Blizzard (yes, I ate it and my excuse was that it made my throat feel better:devil: ). I feel alittle better today and if my head doesn't explode, I plan on getting some exercise on the elliptical.
Have a great day and I'll check back in later.
02-28-2006, 11:34 AM
Good morning ladies... reading these so late that unfortunately I don't have time to respond to everyone... made delicious soup last night with 1 pound of lean ground turkey, can of kidney beans, can of black beans, rotel and taco seasoning and it was delicious! Took like 10 mins and now I have leftovers yaaay! Doing better today than I was yesterday although still tired... it's my mom's birthday so we're celebrating with her tonight. We celebrated on Saturday as well but I ate all sorts of sweets so I'm going to have have to resist tonight.
Gonna kick butt in March I can already feel it!
02-28-2006, 11:43 AM
I had a bad weekend, it was a weekend without a plan...so I am not suprised. I need to work a lot harder on being OP and focused during the weekends...I am super excited for March, I am reevaluating my workout/water goals I think I have been expecting to much and then I am so down when I go not meet my goal. I think mini goals are the way to go for me. I have a ton of work to do this week, hopefully I can lose some of this gained back weight. Have a great day chickies!
freaky - I had that happen to me a while back, had to have a root canal and a cap - OUCH! (<---that is my checking account wincing in pain lol)
Demamacita,cottage - good morning :)
Marianna - keep working hard and you are right March is a new month...a fresh start
JanaM - I hear what your saying about hitting people over the head with your water bottle for volunteering *goodies*
kiko - I am a self sabotager too - trying to work through it, but I feel your pain.
Debbie - pizza happens, it is totally a convenience food, most of the time is it just there so we eat it, new day new start.
Ruth - I will send you some of my sunshine, it is going to be like 65 here today.
Meg - you always have such a positive attitude!
pear - I hear you about wanting to weekend already, isn't that bad? Good luck with your presentation.
Schatzi - I have my coffee at my side as well, have a good day, glad your feeling better.
cottage - at least you are using this as motivation...I think you can do it.
barb - You wanna know something funny? I always picture you being like the moms on desperate housewives, crazy busy yet social and perfect looking :) Have fun with your den meeting.
annarenee - CONGRATS chica!!! That is awesome, get that gym bag you deserve it!
Mscrockett - i am a picture junkie, I do not know if it is because of my profession or what but I could sit and look through them for hours. What movie were ya watching?
soon - I am so sorry you are sick hun, it seems to be going around, hope you get to feeling better. I was going to ask you about some AVON stuff, I will wait until you are up to it, let me know.
2befit - Birthday being sick, that sucks. Do some work on the eliptical for me eh? I have an appointment with it tonight and I would like to get a head start.
02-28-2006, 12:01 PM
Hey there all ... I'm just breezing by, because I'm wicked busy today (Deadlines, yuck). But I dragged my caboose out of bed at 6:10 a.m. to go to the gym early. I really like going in the morning, it's slightly less crowded and I have more time. If I get done with all my work early enough, I'll go back to the gym after work to do some more!
But -- I was in a rush and don't have much in the way of snacks or lunch today. I ate a cinnamon walnut whole wheat muffin for breakfast and RF cheese and whole wheat crackers for a snack. Instead of my usual salad -- I have only a sad little Weight Watcher low-carb meal for lunch. Definitely my least successful mid-week meal planning in a long time. :(
Have good days, everyone!
02-28-2006, 12:47 PM
SunLit - I hear ya about the gym being less crowded, that's one of the things that I love the MOST about being there in the mornings is that I can actually find parking and that I don't have to wait on a machine... it is SO HARD getting motivated in the mornings to exercise (and get your body moving that early) but I think it's worth it... especially knowing that you have your exercise out of the way for the day
02-28-2006, 01:41 PM
Luckily, my gym is across the street from my office so I can just take an earlier train, go exercise and shower at the gym! No parking problems! And you're right, it's nice to done early and not have to stay out late.
I rarely have to wait to get an elliptical, even though my gym is relatively small. But the Nautilus equipment is NEVER available, with all the sweaty gents huffing and puffing all over them!
02-28-2006, 01:55 PM
Sunlit: My sister lives in Plymouth, MA - I get to visit her in May and we'll be spending a day in Boston!! I was there once about 4 years ago!
02-28-2006, 01:59 PM
Hi Ladies :)
Didn't have time to post again, until now,and for the rest of this week is going to be in the afternoon. Busy Busy week, hopefully I won't have a snacking attack with all this going on. Need some :dust: to keep me going.
Tomorrow is the beginning of lent and I going to give up snacking in the evening.Have my herb teas & crystals ready to go. Thanks :thanks:to the chick who told us about Celestial Sesonings Chocolate Carmel Enchantment chai tea,I love:love: it and I'm going to try your red tea also.
Have to go,until tomorrow Hugs :) BB
02-28-2006, 02:14 PM
Stephie~ I am making a movie with the pictures I have, ,, with Movie Maker, I take all sorts of family pics, organize them and then add music with them, and the pics run while the Music is on,, It is so fun to do,, But I cry when I make one of all who has passed on, but that is my life.. I have from my GREAT,GREAT,GREAT grandparents till now.. about 1000, one thousand pics to go through,, to get this done,, starting from oldest to newest.. it is fun..
02-28-2006, 02:38 PM
Thanks :thanks:to the chick who told us about Celestial Sesonings Chocolate Carmel Enchantment chai tea,I love:love: it and I'm going to try your red tea also.
I think that was me, beam bum. I really, really love the red tea. I find that peppermint-y tea wakes me up just as well as caffeinated beverages.
To Debbie -- May's a great time for prowling Boston! And I find Plymouth to be beautiful in any season, but esp. in the spring. You'll have lots of fun, I'm sure!
02-28-2006, 02:47 PM
Sunlit as soon as I read "wicked" in your post I knew you were from MA!! I'm in VA now but born and bred in western MA, and I get ragged on with each and every wicked that escapes my lips...
Freaky-yikes sorry about the dental stuff. I've still got a baby tooth b/c my adult tooth is lodged somehwere up btw my nose and upper lip. You can see it in xrays. each appt they explain how they can go up through the roof of my mouth, slowly bring it down and push out the baby tooth. Or duh I could just wait until it hurts or the other falls out...yeah I think i'll go with the free painless option but thanks!
Ok March is just about here and darn it this weight will be gone. Today I am just focusing on eating every couple of hours. I need to up my calories so here goes.
I got a WICKED good deal on a bathing suit. I happened to be on gap.com and they were showing off all their new swimsuits. Well for some reason (maybe last year's color?), they had this cute halter tankini top in a light aqua color size Med for only $4.97 but all the other colors and sizes were $29.50 and the small bottoms in a darker blue for $6.99 when all other colors and sizes were $24.50. So for like $12 I got a really cute $54 suit! Best part is that when I suck in my gut, it really looks awesome so I will get there. My arms and shoulders have all of a sudden appeared too. Hmmm, never knew I had them, lol.
02-28-2006, 03:01 PM
Sunlit - Yeah my gym is about 2 mins from my apartment so I am so incredible lucky that I can go home to shower, therefore I really have no excuses not to work out, period!
02-28-2006, 03:10 PM
Good afternoon everybody. I can't believe it's already 3 and this is the first time that I've had to sit down at the computer. Today is flying. It's almost 70 degrees here. I had a lunchtime Mardi Gras party and except for a tiny slice of king cake, I was OP. My tight jeans are fitting more loosely than before my first daughter was born. It's a good day.
Tomorrow morning, I have an appointment at the vet for Orion and tomorrow afternoon I'm taking Keely to get her blood drawn. I'm giving the doctor until Thursday afternoon to get back to me and then I'm going to start calling.
02-28-2006, 03:17 PM
....and the small bottoms in a darker blue for $6.99 when all other colors and sizes were $24.50. So for like $12 I got a really cute $54 suit! Best part is that when I suck in my gut, it really looks awesome so I will get there.
Way to go!!! Not only a wicked deal but you are in small bottoms, and in a bathing suit, no less!!!
02-28-2006, 04:10 PM
Hey y'all - I have not had time to read all the posts yet today - I will get on it tonight - but I wanted to drop in and say hello!!
I took Hayden to school today - and then hauled myself over to Sephora and picked up some new BARE ESCENTUALS - since that is my new obsession - lol. And then - I sped back to the YMCA for SPINNING!! YES - I WENT today!! I have been slacking on that big time!!
My little angel made it all day at school today in the same pair of shorts and undies - hooray!! We have been casually working on the whole potty thing - but last Friday we trashed the diapers - and he's been good to go ever since!!!
And tonight - is MOM's NIGHT OUT!! We are going out for Mexican. ANY suggestions as to what would order would be appreciated it!! I am thinking the fajita salad - but I do not know - lol - this is a new place that I have never been and I'm starting to wane on my resolve.
I was down a pound today - hooray!! I won't get too excited - because for sure tonight I'm having a margarita or two - so I'm sure it will be back up a pound tomorrow!!
Ok - off to clean my house!
02-28-2006, 04:48 PM
Heather - Check to see if they have a website with their menu. I find it easier if I can plan in advance. When I feel rushed to order, I often make bad choices. Also it is better to decide when you aren't hungry. I sometimes get grilled fish or shrimp at Mexican restaurants. Some of the ones in Dallas have black beans. Cozymel's even has low carb fajitas where they give you lettuce to wrap your fajitas in and grilled veggies instead of the rice. I'm not a big fan of salads but if you get one, make sure it isn't loaded with full fat sour cream and don't eat the taco shell if it comes in one.
02-28-2006, 05:30 PM
Haha, that "wicked" just slipped in, batmomm, just like my Boston accent crops up every now and then! I think that's why I'm a writer -- no chance I'll drop my R's on the page. :) Hardest part is trying to explain to people what "wicked" really means.
I went to college in Western Mass. -- I just love it out there, but there are so fewer places to work.
Sounds like a great deal on your swimsuit! I never have trouble finding swimsuits -- the giant T-shirts I wear OVER them are another story....
02-28-2006, 07:00 PM
Hey girlies. I have just been overwhelmed at work. WHEEEEEE is how I feel. I have a few minutes before church volleyball so I thought I'd pop on and say hi to everyone.
This may be torture for some of you to read, so if so, I'm sorry. I'm sucking on dark chocolate.... I'm going to get as much chocolate as I possibly can tonight because after tonight, I can't have chocolate until April 16. Terry's giving up sweets all together for Lent.... I'm not that brave. That would mean even things sweetened with splenda. I might die from that (or kill someone else.)
Easing myself back into exercise. Didn't work out last night.... coughing fit. I'm going to play volleyball tonight and tomorrow night and possibly run tomorrow, too. We'll see how I do.
Hope you all are having a pleasant day.
02-28-2006, 07:08 PM
I'm giving up chocolate for Lent too. And I'm going to try hard to say something nice to Brian and DH every day. Sometimes it is easy to forget when you get busy.
02-28-2006, 09:32 PM
Hi everyone!   It has been forever since I have been on here, but I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive! I just got swamped with research over the last week or so. :comp: And there's more to come...and will stay with me until July 21, my dissertation deadline. I had a chance to relax a bit tonight. DH and I had pancakes for dinner in honor of Shrove Tuesday (not on program, but oh well...) And I had a chance to put my feet up and RELAX.
Not doing the giving up something for Lent myself, although I admire those of you who are. In the last couple of years, my focus has been taking on a new spiritual/personal exercise, such as reading Scripture or taking more time to journal or meditate. I haven't thought of anything for this Lent, so I guess I ought to get on that, eh?
I'm going to try and read through the posts to catch up but for now I hope all of you are doing great!
