"4:15 already, I was just in the middle of a dream" a little blast from the Bangles to get you up in the morning and out on the beach!!!

I simply did not have enough time this weekend. I want more!!! Really had to work to get out of the bed this morning and I don't want to work out but I will. I would much rather go back to bed. I know if I do that I will feel guilty all day for wasting the time so here I am complaining :o .

I really need to get back on track this week with healthy eating and healthy thinking. I've been off for a while and I need to regain control. I love so much how I look and feel when I am exercising and eating healthy. I want that taped and played over and over again all day.

Mamahulk - you know I'm not religious, but would you mind throwing in a few words for me as well. I'll take assistance from any corner!!!

I hope all you chicks have a good day on the beach.

Freaky - morning...I'm with you - "I wish it was a Sunday, cause that's my funday....." the weekend was not long enough! I worked the entire weekend, but still.
Good for you for exercising.....I've been a bum in that area. Maybe today after my meeting. I don't think I'm going to like this meeting. One of my co-workers is a spoiled brat, and when things don't go her way - she acts like a 2 yr old. My loose lips might of mentioned that to her (which really honked her off!) SO I think my boss is going to tell us to play pretty today. Reward the brat...that's just great. She's also a know it all on top of it. She's never wrong, nothing is her fault, and on the rare occasions she does admit fault, she talks about herself in the third person - she's a real wack o doodle!
I've been good with my eating the last few days, but the scale has only leaned a little...nothing drastic. This doesn't look good for my bet with Pearsy.....better start digging into my pockets!
I gotta get to work........"But I can't be late cause then I guess I just won't get paid - These are the days when you wish your bed was already made!" Thanks Freaky - now I have that song stuck in my head!!!

Good morning Freaky!!!! I am AWAKE early because the baby is awake early. He has this thing lately that he wants to get up at 4:30. SO, I get up with him - and then trade with hubby at 6 am - and then we all get up for the day when my older one wakes up - which is like 8 am!

So - good luck getting back on track this week! I am in the same boat with exercise - I've been skipping my Spinning class. And this week - I have something to do on Pilates night - so I HAVE to go to Spinning at the LEAST.

This week is Mom's Night Out for me and some friends - we are going out for MExican. I don't know what I'm eating yet - lol - but I'm going to try to stay away from the chips!! Those are my weakness!!!

I weighed this morning and the scale said 239 - but hopefully that will drop some more in a few hours. I do this every morning - when I weigh around 4:30 - it will be one weight - and then I go back to bed and get up at 8 am - and then it's usually about a pound or half a pound less - so y'all keep your fingers crossed - lol. :)

Anyway - I hope everyone has a great week!!! Tonight I think I'm making the buffalo chicken tenders that I found in the recipe section. I'll let y'all know how it goes!!!

Oh yeah - and they opened a Panera Bread near me - I am IN LOVE - lol. My rule is - we only eat there once a week and I get the 9 grain bread and some type of sandwich and either French Onion soup without the crouton or a salad and it's WONDERFRUL!! LOL!

Good morning, Chickies!

It's frassing freezing again but a lovely sunny day. You need your sunglasses out there because of snow glare! I stirred up the woodstove and fed it, then sat and sipped my coffee watching the sun stream through the forsythia (http://www.thegardenhelper.com/forsythiapix.html) bouquet. Liquid sunshine! Hershey just lay over my feet and sighed her contented sigh.

Freaky, good for you getting up and just doing it! :woo:

Soon, that sounds like a terrible meeting and your co-worker sounds like a dingbat! There is one person who posts in here and uses the third person - drives me nuts!

Heather, my scale does that too. It's as if it's just not "ready" to start the day that early.

I have painting this afternoon and must get something done this morning. I sort of goofed off yesterday afternoon and watched the Olympics. Sunday afternoon is scheduled as painting time but it didn't happen.

Panic struck this morning when I realized February is nearly over and I've not lost a smidgen of weight - again! March has to be the turning point for that! Lucy will be preggers (I hope!) and I'll have to walk her to get her stamina up for the puppies. Hershey could use it too, of course. As soon as the roads are clear of ice and snow, just watch us!

Have a wonderful day and keep warm if you are in the snow and cold.

Soon: AACK!!!! I had a coworker like that... I'll never ferget the first time I heard her talk in the 3rd person.. "Joanie doesn't like this paragraph in the manual" and "joanie..:blah:".. when she left the meeting I turned to my other coworker Sue and asked "who is this Joanie??" When Sue said it was HER I near DIED! The whole group of us laughed so hard!!! oh and she also always did those finger quote twitches as in ,,,"we need to change the fingers quote PROCESS end finger quote to do this.... :lol3: (we watch listen and roll eyes!!!!) (Thankgawd Joanie is a beanpole... no chance being found out on this site he heee)

Texasheathers: PANERA bread!!!!!! Oh man, I love their breads and onion soup... sounds like you've picked the best On plan stuff to eat there!

Time fer cawfee :coffee: darlins! Have a great day :beach:

Morning ladies... YICK YUCK YACK to the weekend... had EVERY intention of getting up and working out Saturday AND Sunday and it just didn't happen... sleep won out and now I have 140 mins of exercise to cram into 2 days... and my diet is totally shot! Just keep thinking should I go back to Phase 1? Should I try another diet? Should I maybe work out with a personal trainer? I'm half way to my goal but the weight has stopped dropping and that's so frustrating since I know that I'm the only one that can control that. So just gotta get back on track in March. Off to the gym after I tell everyone hi...

Freaky - I re-set my alarm when it went off at 630 for 7... You have will power of iron!

Soon - Good job on eating well! I'd swap some of my exercise for your food habits..

Heather - Again with the 430! Good luck with the Mexican restaurant.... they are definitely one of my weaknesses being a Texas girl

Ruth - I wish we atleast got a little snow down here, yesterday it was 70 degrees and we were at the park sunbathing! And I'm with ya about the February results... how can we make March better?

Schatzi - Mornin' Sunshine!

Good Morning! I've been up since my boys left for school and hubby for work. #1 little girl awake early this morning so we snuggled and watch TV.
I haven't exercised at all. I Love Walk Away the Pounds when I make myself do it. I just hate to make myself do it!!! NOw does that make sense?
Last night the guys (hubby and sons) got pizza after youth group but I thought the leftovers looked greasy and not worth it. Also hubby ate BREYERS chocolate ice cream in front of me. I went and got my sugar free jello!
I made butterscotch SF, FF pudding this morning that will be my treat later on. I am a little sick of eggs right now.
I did get the veggies to make roasted veggies again and will cook some chicken breasts in the skillet to go with for our dinner.
I work 3 nights this week and get to go Scrapbooking Friday night then work Saturday afternoon so will be a BUSY week for me and feel a little bad leaving the family in the evenings so much this week but some weeks are like that!
Freaky: Best wishes getting back on track! Think about March 1 arriving and it can be like a new "start date". I liked that I started on Feb. 1 Just an idea. :)
Heather and Schatzi: We have Panera near us and My favorite thing WAS the Potato soup and some kind of white bread hunk that they give you with it!!! OMG, that is a SBD nightmare!!! But I can't see myself living without it forever, I guess it can be a once in a while treat.

Ruth: My husband's dad goes way into Canada fishing once a year with a group of guys. My husband wants to go with them this fall. Awesome that you have Forsythia in bloom ! It hasn't happened here yet. But we are to see a high of 60 on Wednesday!!

Mornin' everyone.

Freaky, I've been struggling to get back on track too. So, it's back to Phase I for me this week. I even cleared out my pantry last night so that I could find out what I had stashed in there. I found a box of cookies that had probably been in there for about a year. Good thing that I didn't find those the other week when I was eating everything in sight - those little puppies would have been gonners! :ink:

Soon - Insane co-workers....don't you love 'em? I work with plenty of know-it-alls, but I don't think I've ever worked with anyone who refers to themselves in the third person before. :dizzy:

Heather, Ruth and Schatzi - Hope you all have a great day!

Fortunately, I have the day off and the weather here this week is going to be fantastic! Around 70 today. :flow2: The only problem with that is that instead of going to rent videos and have a meaningful day bonding with my couch, I really should go work out in the yard. Choices, choices. At least I did go to Curves this morning and already got my workout in.

Started the coffee before I signed on, so now the aroma is calling me from the kitchen. Catch you all later. :coffee:

Good morning chicks. I'm checking in from work today. (slow dial-up at home this morning made it impossible). Hubby and I took a little tumble off the wagon the past few days so we're back to Phase I for the week. I'm a little frustrated with myself because last night I just crashed on the couch instead of getting some food pre-cooked for the week. It's so much easier to eat healthy when the fridge is stocked with things ready to eat. I'll have to try to squeeze some time in tonight. I especially want to get some of those breakfast cheesecakes made up.

Freaky - I can't believe the willpower you have to get up so early everyday and exercise. You are amazing. :carrot:

Soon - good luck with your meeting, I would have such a hard time not rolling my eyes at the wack-a-doodle :dizzy:

Heather - how old is your son? Mine's 5 months old - he's still gets up a lot to eat in the middle of the night but luckily he's pretty good about going back to sleep. Here's a cup of coffee for you ..... :coffee:

Ruth - I hear you on the cold - we're a balmy 10 degrees F and the wind is so bitter today. I didn't post it in my profile, but I'm in Western New York.....Brrrrr.

Schatzi - have a great day! :D

Sarah - 70 degrees? I'm so jealous. Send some of that up here 'K?

Good morning!

Nothing exciting going on here. I have a little bit of laundry to do and then I'll go grocery shopping. Does anybody know anything about cats? I have three and I'm having a bit of a problem with one of them (unfortunately, I don't know which one). One of them has been pooping on my couch. Boy, am I angry. I woke up Saturday morning to poop on the couch. I cleaned it with Resolve and Febreeze and flipped the cushion over. Just in case, I put a towel down. On Sunday morning I didn't find any surprises, but this morning there was a little pile of poop on the towel. Grrrrr! I don't know what to do. The cat litter box is clean and easily accessible. They are all in perfect health. I just don't know what would make them do this. I'm going to rent a steam cleaner and see if that helps. One of my friends used to make her cat sleep in his carrier overnight. Now I'm wondering if that would be a good idea.

Freaky: I can't tell you enough what an inspiration you are. I credit you for getting me back into exercising.

soon2Bfab: I couldn't help but giggle when you mentioned that your coworker sometimes talks about herself in the third person. I worked with somebody like that once. I'm sorry that you have to work with her.

texasheathers: I'm so jealous. I love Panera and there isn't one for hundreds of miles from where I live. I haven't tried anything there that I didn't like.

Ruth: The snow sounds so pretty. That's one thing I really miss about living up north. I hate driving in it, but I love looking at it.

Schatzi: Good morning!

sarahslacker: Don't give up! I had to go back to phase 1 for a while and it was definitely worth it. I feel remotivated and back on track. Give that a shot before you give up on South Beach all together.

Debbie: Bravo on the self-control. Pizza and then chocolate ice cream? I don't know if I could have been so strong. You are my hero.

JanaM: 70 degrees...I'm jealous. Go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather (especially for those of us who are freezing).

Good morning, Chickies~~

Stepped on the scale and I'm down again...so I only have seven more to go to get back to my all time LOW. :cheer:

Ruth, we have forsythia, redbud and now the bradford pears are blooming. I hate bradford pear blossoms...you get enough of them together and they smell like a decaying corpse. YUCKO!!

Hello to everyone else ...sorry I'm not posting individual GM's here, but I've got a bit of a headache and am not thinking very clear this morning.

Everyone else gets so much accomplished before 9 a.m. -- not me! If I can manage to convince myself that getting out of bed is worth it, it's a achievement!

I managed to work out this weekend (which I don't usually), and my scale rewarded me with a 3 pound loss for my official weigh-in! I'm going to try and avoid the scale all week long now.

I have loads of work to do today and very little ambition to do it. Guess I'll give it a go anyway.......

Sarah -- lucky Texan! We have our coldest temps of the year in Boston today -- It's not more than 20 degrees right now.

Ruth -- I liked your image of firing up the woodstove and sipping coffee with a puppy nearby!

Soon -- I have some interesting coworkers, but no one quite THAT interesting, for which I am now eternally grateful!

Debbie -- I think even the greasy leftover pizza would have got me! Good for you!

Jana, Schatzi, Freaky, usmc, Heather, Kelly J -- have great days!

Good morning chicks! It's a nice chilly morning here but I was able to keep the heat off all night. It's nice being up on the 3rd floor cause I get to steal the 2 downstairs neighbors heat sometimes. We live in a converted mansion and each of the 3 floors is a separate apartment. I like it like that...not too many neighbors to deal with...my two are cool...young college guys but not rowdy or racuous at all.

I'm sitting here after waking up late. I've got a policy analysis on The Healthy Forest Act due tomorrow for my Environmental Policy class. It's really scary how many people deciding our environmental policies have absolutely no science background or scientific literacy at all.....but then I guess that's why we have policies like the Healthy Forest Act in the first place  ! Hehehe!! Ok, I'll be good now!

So I'm sitting here having coffee with Cecil on my shoulder proofreading for me :) ! Yesterday I got nothing done. I ended up playing hooky and going to lunch with a friend and shoe shopping. I bought 4 pairs, a pair of mock crock pumps, some very comfortable suede wedge heel loafers, a cute pair of summer slippers, and a cute beige pair of pumps with brown strappy things of them. All the shoes were different shades of brown and all on sale :D ! I find I'm sick of black shoes anymore!

Freaky: With your discipline and determination this will be a fabulous week for you! I know it!

Soon: Ok, girl! Double or nothing next month! You can pay me in AVON products!

Texas: Scales are weird like that! Last week I bought a fancy digital scale for over $50 but every time I stepped on it would vary by more than a pound. So I took it back and am keeping to my $9.99 regular scale. I guess I used the $50 on shoes yesterday! lol!

Ruth: March will be a turning point for both of us! It's easier to get out and walk when the weather cooperates. Not that i'm using it as an excuse but for some reason it's easier for me to lose when it's not freezing outside.

Schatzi: have a fabulous day! Wait...who am I saying that too? Of course you will since you are fabulousness in the flesh! :D (Cecil told me to say that)

Sarahslacker: We all have bad times. Just get back on the beach and if you are having cravings do P1 for a few days. It's normal, it happens andyou're doing great! Keep it up!

Debbie: Congrats on resisting temptation! WooHOOO!!! You are one fabulously beacy babe!

Jana: have a fabulous P1 this week. You can do this! We're all here for you!

KellyJ: Another P1'er this week! YOu can do it!! A word of caution about the cheesecake things...they left me absolutely starving after an hour or so. they may be different for you but maybe have some eggs or something with them too! GOod luck this week!

usmchoney: Hey..what do you mean nothing exciting?? Grocery shopping is exciting! I love it! IT's one of my favorite things to do on a weekend. Do I need to get a life??

Mamacita: CongRATs on the loss!! WooHOO!! Hope you feel better!!

usmchoney : I have cats. All I know is when one of my cats started urinating where he wasn't supposed to, and right in front of me! I saw blood in it and took him to the vet. He had a urinary tract infection. If it hurts when they go to the bathroom in the litter box, the cat thinks it is the litter box hurting him and will try a different place. Then once the scent is there... they will continue to use it sometimes. That is what I heard anyway. He got better w/meds. However, they started going on our screened-in back porch. He got locked out there all night one time. We have to replace the indoor/outdoor carpet this spring.
I have also heard that cats can do that if they are mad about something. If you were gone for a few days or something unusual. That is about all I know. I hope you figure it out. It is frustrating!!!

Freaky: I didn't say before but I also agree with the others that it is AWESOME for you to get up an exercise!! Especially so early!

Good morning everyone! DH and I had a good time on Saturday. I went completely off plan at dinner but the crazy thing was I didn't eat nearly as much as I usually do. I was right back on plan yesterday.

I found out this morning that my oldest daughter, Ally, backed my in-laws's golf cart into my fil's pick up truck and left a huge dent. No one said a word to me about it when I went to pick the kids up yesterday, they were leaving it up to Ally to tell us. But she didn't, no big surprise. So when my husband came into work this morning, he found out when his father told everyone why there's a huge dent in his truck. Grrr...now we need to see if they want us to pay for the repairs, I doubt they will but I need to come up with some way for Ally to work it off. Maybe by pulling weeds, washing dishes for my in-laws.

Sunlit - I hear you about laundry. I never get caught up!

Mamacita - Hope your headache goes away.

usmchoney - No advice on the cats but I would be so mad! Our dog has been getting on our sofa to sleep which we have never let him do, he has a skin condition that makes his fur get greasy on his back so if he doesn't get bathed weekly, it gets gross. He has his own bed, always has so now I keep the bed in my kitchen and I shut him in there when we're not home and at night.

KellyJ - I have dial-up here at work and at home but at home it is horrible. I hate it but we live in the boonies, dsl is not available neither is cable. Our only option is satellite which we have for our tvs but I can't justify paying that much for our internet service at home.

Jana - I am so jealous of your 70 degrees, it is so cold here today. I am ready for spring!

Debbie - My sister puts low fat plain yogurt in her sf pudding mix along with skim milk, it really makes it rich tasting. I don't remember how much she puts in though.

Sarah - Here's to a better week for you! You can do it!

Schatzi - Have a great day!

Ruth - We don't have snow but it sure is cold and breezy. What kind of dogs do you have?

Heather - I love mexican too. I went out to lunch at the new mexican restaraunt last week, somehow I managed to skip the chips. I love Don Pablos too.

soon2bfab - Keep with it, you've done so well. I foresee a big whoosh on the scale in your future!

freaky - Aren't Mondays hard? Especially when you've been so busy that the weekend just flies by.

I hope I haven't missed anyone! Guess I'd better go earn my paycheck.

Well Ladies I'm back from my meeting...a hour of it was spent on this coworker & how she will like I am the boss's favorite (let's be honest - I am) but my boss couldn't tell her that. Also she was upset because I called her out on something & she said I misinterupted the conversation....how can I mess up - no one excutes my plans - Shelly didn't get register trained. (The reason Shelly didn't get register train was the trainer was my only cashier & I had my own things to get done, so I couldn't train her - thought I covered this with her, but whatever) And this coworker would be happy if I would just come to her ?!?!?!? I DID!! I finally just bit my tongue, because I'm not going to waste my time/energy on making sure she feels good about herself - got my own problems.....wacko! OK, I'm going to go clear off df's car so he can just jump in & goto work...be back later

Good Morning,
Today is THE DAY. No more excuses. I should have been pretty near my goal by now, and instead I'm where I was shortly after the holidays. Shame on me! But now with Lent starting this week, that will be a good motivator for me. :)

Freaky ~ You are probably at work by now, but here's to a fresh start -

Soon ~ There must be a lot of people who talk in the 3rd person. I know a girl who always talks like that, I always thought she was kind of weird. :dizzy:

Heather ~ You did fantastic at Panera's! I love that place, but I sure need a lot of :dust: when we go there!

Ruth ~ Thanks for the picture of the forsythias, they are so sunny and cheerful looking. You have company on your February goal, I started out good, but things went quickly downhill. Let's make March ROCK!

Schatzi ~ Have a great day, darlin! :flow1: :flow2: :flow1:

Sarahslacker ~ We're making room for you to hop back on the wagon with the rest of us who keep falling off!

Debbie ~ I know you didn't end up at Don Pablo's the other night, but when I go there I love to order the Mahi Fajitas. They're served with lettuce to wrap the filling in, and they're soooo good! Ours even offers raw veggies (at an extra cost) to dip in the salsa rather than the tortilla chips. You've got me hankering for the Roasted Veggies, I think I'll make them with supper tonight, too! Thanks for the idea! :)

JanaM. ~ I like to get in my Curves workout first thing, too, then I don't have to worry about making time for exercise later in the day when I'm too tired. Good for you, resisting those cookies! :carrot:

Kelly ~ Have a great day at work, and I hope you find time tonight to plan some OP meals for the rest of the week. I should sit down and work on some menus, too.

usmchoney ~ Hope you can find a solution to your kitty problems! I like animals, but that's the reason we don't have any pets. I'm still sending up prayers for Keely, that everything turns out fine with her.

Mamacita ~ :cheer: I'm so happy for you! After all your tummy problems, it sounds like things are starting to look up for you!

SunLit ~ :bravo: on your 3 lb loss! Whatever you're doing, keep it up, it's working!

Pearsy ~ Hope all goes well on your analysis paper, we should all take our environment more seriously, and I admire you for it. BTW, thanks again for the recipe!

3DM ~ Good morning, and I hope everything works out OK with Ally!

MsCrockett ~ Morning to you, too! :flow2:

Just wanted to say mornin' to all of you out there on the beach! Haven't been posting around here much, but I read just about every day!

My weekend was ok... went to a comedy club on Friday, which was cool but could have been better had I not been sick. :( I HATE being sick! I actually had to leave work early on Thursday, and that was the day my office was having a Winter celebration-type-thing. I'm better now, thankfully :) The rest of the weekend was spent at home mostly, catching up on all those little around-the-house things that always seem to get put off.

I know my bf is saving up for something. He's been acting all mysterious lately about his money, so I'm almost definitely sure he's saving for an engagement ring. This makes me sooooooo happy! We've been talking about getting married for a while now, but even if we get engaged soon we'll still have to wait close to 3 years to actually tie the knot, since I'm going back to school next spring and all. Still, I'm exciting thinking that, sometime this year, I'll be getting engaged to my sweetie!

Anyways, I have to start doing some more work so I don't have time to say hi to everyone individually, but just one note

usmchoney-- I'd get your kitty checked out by a vet, but your cat could just me ticked off. Have you done anything differently lately or has the cat's environment been changed? This could be a real problem-- when I was younger we had a cat, and she started peeing all over the house after we got a puppy. We took her to the vet and he told us that she was literally *pissed* off, and that there was nothing we could really do about it-- even if we got rid of the dog, she would problem continue this behavior for the rest of her life. So in the end, we had to give her away. I don't know if this is the same with you, but the vet should be able to help explain the situation.

Anyways, I hope you all have a great day and a wonderful week!

Does anybody know anything about cats? I have three and I'm having a bit of a problem with one of them (unfortunately, I don't know which one). One of them has been pooping on my couch.

usmchoney, this might seem like an odd solution, but next time, you could put a little dish of cat crunchies on the towel. Cats don't like to poop where they eat. With a few days, it might train the culprit out of his/her habit.

You might also call the vet, because it's odd that cats would just randomly start doing that without provocation (a new cat, illness, old age, etc.).

usmchoney
02-27-2006, 12:16 PM
I can't think of anything that might have provoked the pooping. One of my cats, Orion, has had urinary tract infections in the past. He'd start peeing in weird places and that tipped us off. I didn't know that pooping meant the same thing. Thanks for all of the advice. I'm going to make an appointment with the vet. I'm also going to try putting his food there for a while too. Morning, gals. I had a busy weekend. I spent all day Saturday at a Trainer's Development Conference for scouting. I learned a lot and can't wait to use it. I also got asked if I would consider serving as the director for the cub scout day camp next summer. I told this year's director that if he pulls me in enough for this year's camp that I'd do next year's. We have hundreds of boys at this week long camp.

Cottage (and any others that might have an opinion) - What do you plan to do about the fasting on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday? Abstaining from meat is easy enough but I'm not sure what to do about the fasting. I'm thinking maybe making breakfast and lunch a little smaller than normal and making sure my snacks are just veggies. Father Cliff suggested that people skip snacks and eat the minimal to survive but I know skipping meals is anti-South Beach. What do you think?

Hi chicks:)

Had a bad week & weekend,[tummy ache]for me, so I didn't bother to post.Hoping that I can get incontrol, if I give up the snacking and extras for lent. I'm on 2 challengers with 2 other boards,to see if I can make it.

Going back to Phase 1.5 Having 1 serving grain carbs per day I was told that I'm adding too many bread/flour all at once.

Pearshape-Its bitter cold up here, went shopping for a couple of turtle neck tops and there gone, sales lady say the Spring line in ready to come it.Whats going on e with these stores, winter is over yet. Happy that you had suceess in your shopping.

3darlings-I don't think your DD pushed the cart deliberatley,it probably was an accident and shes to scared to tell you. Don't be too hard on her.

Cottage-you and me and others will take advantage of this lental season to get cour weight down. Good Luck

Ok, even though I said I was going to give it my all, I messed up again this weekend. I will not fail at this again!!! I refuse to fail!!

We went out to dinner last night and I wanted to go to TGIFriday’s for dinner, mainly because of their triple layer choco cake that I have been thinking about for days.

My dh was fine with my choice, so we went, it was me, the 2 kids and my dh. (This is a very sad story) I started out good, I ordered off of the Atkins menu that they have, and surprisingly enough, the Atkins menu is not all high fat choices, so with all good intention, I ordered chicken and veggies. But then it was time for desert, (here's the sad part :( ) I ordered the triple layer choco fudge cake, and wouldn’t you know it, they were out of it. How could this be!? :?: It was really the only reason I wanted to eat there!!! The waiter mentioned the brownie hot fudge sundae instead and my daughter’s little ears perked right up (she’s 5), so we got that and started out sharing it, I took a couple of bites and it just wasn’t the same, my heart was set on that cake and nothing was going to be able to replace it. I guess it just really wasn’t meant for me to have. So, as I’m writing this, I’m realizing that I really didn’t too bad after all. I guess everything really does happen for a reason. Back on plan today!

Today's Menu so far:
breakfast - chicken salad, 1-1/2 tbs light mayo, 1 tsp craizins, 2 tbs sliced almonds, diet coke
snack - sf pudding
lunch - Panera Asian grilled chicken salad, whole grain bread, iced tea
snack - orange
dinner -

today is weigh-in for me--now at 174.5. Spiked up 1.5 lbs during last week due to my visiting company and parties--but have lost one lb--with a half to go--then I'll be back where I started earlier in the week. Such progress:dz: 1/2 lb between today and Tuesday and at least I meet my February weight-loss goal:goodvibes

I had a real treat for breakfast this a.m. A Thomas light english muffin with 1 TBS peanut butter and 1/2 tsp sugar free jelly. At least, since starting Phase 2, I am able to get my daily calorie count up to the 1200-1300 range--but still being real careful about the carbs I add back. I'm anxious to see if such a decadent breakfast will foil my progress.

Have a great Monday all!

Good Mornin', oh should I say afternoon,

I was soooo busy this morning at work, this is the first time I have been able to log on. So, it's late in the day and I'm just gonna say hi to everybody.

I've decided to get back OP!! I was a bit lax here lately. DH has decided not to do any diets, :( But what can you do, I told him that this is the way I am going to cook, if you don't like it you are going to fend for yourself. But he was ok w/ the dinners, he likes the food....it's just the snacking that I think he has a problem w/ he wants the little debbies and such things. :p

I'm glad to see new names, hope everybody is doing great and hopefully later in the week I'll have time to the online chickies!!!!

Ya'll take care ;)

I am not Catholic so I don't know how your fast works, but Jews fast from sundown on the eve of Yom Kippur until the sundown the next day. So, it is a full 24 hours.

I have been on SBD during this time and have found that the enhanced "spiritual high" the day of Yom Kippur, coupled with the fact that I do not work or do anything strenuous, has kept me able to fast on this one day each year without any problems.

That being said, in our religion people with health issues that would be adversely affected by fasting are not expected to do so.

I did some research on the internet about how the Catholics define fasting for Ash Wednesday/Good Friday and it means having smaller than normal meals for two of the meals so that the two small meals are less than one normal meal. It says no snacking at all and then one normal sized meal where no meat is eaten.

My mom never did the fast because she was in poor health and Dad worked a strenuous job. I should be able to handle this for two days a year.

I just started phase one today and found this website while searching the net. I've never done any postings on the net...but after reading some of the entries maybe this is just what I need for my support and with hopes of supporting someone else. Until the next time....

Barb ~ I just got home from work and saw your question. On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, I usually have a light breakfast that will sustain me til lunch, such as yogurt and an apple, for lunch I have a big salad with tuna or some other fish, and supper is usually a veggie minestone with some cheese. I make sure I have no snacks in between, and absolutely no dessert, and that way I feel that I have pretty much fasted. Last year it was pretty rough, and I remember being hungry all day long, but that just reminded me what this season was all about. :)

Yeah, umm, my parents are a totally bad influence. I did SO WELL at Applebee's Saturday for DH's birthday lunch with his mom. Then, I went to church with Mom and Dad and they took me to D'Arcy's Pub (Irish heaven.) As I am an Irish girl, I had plenty of Irish food and drink (I said no to full-fat sour cream, though!) Then Sunday, my parents decided to take DH and me out for real Mexican food for his birthday. I'm not Mexican at all but I had to partake in Mexican food and drink, too. D'oh.

So today, I was so busy at work that I had my whole wheat english muffin with lite Laughing Cow for breakfast at 12:30. Had a miniature piece of chocolate for lunch at 3:00. Lady that subbed for me last week threw my water bottle away, so I haven't had any fluids yet today. D'oh.

I'm giving up chocolate for Lent. That means no chocolate until Easter, which is Terry and my 1 year anniversary being married. Ohhhhhhh boy. That's a long time. But, since I don't smoke anymore and I pretty much stick to Weight Watchers all the time, I thought chocolate would be a good thing to give up for Lent. Maybe my face will clear up in time for the wedding on March 25. I thought about giving up beer, but HAHAHAHAHAHA. No. My Irish holiday is coming up, plus a bachelorette party and a wedding that I have to be in. I told Misty and Luke that since I didn't drink a lot at my own wedding and they got smashed, I'm going to drink plenty at theirs (after all the important stuff is over.)

Went tanning today. They broiled me for seven whole minutes. If I show up tomorrow without any burns, they're going to bump me to ten! Hopefully I'll be nice and tan for the wedding.

Well, I need to eat, drink, and try to exercise some without killing my lungs. I have a pretty bad cough left over from my illness last week so I'm not going to do anything hardcore for awhile. I figure I'll work out at home tonight, play volleyball tomorrow and Wednesday, and try kick boxing Thursday. Hope you all have a great night!

Evening gals!!

I tried to post from school this morning when it was still managable to respond to everyone individually, but the server was too busy. :(

I am super beat on this Monday evening. DD has dance class on Mondays, so we don't get home until about 7:00. Then it is quick dinner and bathes. Whew! :dizzy: The baby is already crashed and the other goofball is up to her ears in a bubble bath.

Looking forward to Spring Break next week. I plan to try out some new recipes and get this booty in gear! :running:

Not too sure what the scale is going to say tomorrow AM for my weekly and monthly weigh in. I am going to drink a ton of water tonight in hopes of flushing a bit of excess fluid on out of the body!!

Alright- off to scrub-a-dub-dub the grimy 4 year old ballerina!
