Ok I was reading the other post about cheating and someone in there said that when starting back and getting body back to Ketosis they felt nautious..... Is that normal? What side effects have you ladies had?

side effects of ketosis? I can usually tell I'm there because I get ketosis breath and extreme thirst :)

Side effects from the transition from glucogen to ketosis...
Nausea, headache, muscle aches, weakness, feeling cold and clammy, feeling icky like you're coming down with something. When you clear your body of sugar and starch and start burning fat the side effects go away (seems to take 2-3 days).

Once you're officially IN Ketosis, you'll feel amazingly energized and relaxed. Your urine and breath may begin to smell funny, but it's not always the same for everyone.

Alright, now that I think about it.......the very first time I did atkins induction, I felt exactly the way Tenn described!!! It was pretty brutal....so between moving into ketosis, and carb withdrawal....I was a bit of a mess.

Not anymore tho....just the breath thing :D

I had some weird side effects the first time I did Atkins. I got extremely cold and couldn't get warm. Kind of like when you are getting the flu. It was a week and a half into ketosis though, and I was in deep ketosis. I made it go away by carbing up. Ate a slice of bread, at that time because I didn't like how I felt. Of course that stopped my losing weight for a while, but it also made the symptoms go away.

I got diarrhea -- no one at the Aktins headquarters could ever figure out why -- you are supposed to get constipation. Any time I followed Induction 100% and only ate 20 grams of carbs, I got it. I added a few more carbs and it stopped. And I was only eating meat and veggies -- no Atkins products or other low carb products like bars, shakes, candy, etc. I wasn't eating anything with sorbitol or mannitol.
