02-24-2006, 07:27 AM
Mornin' Freaky and everyone else. TGIF!!! Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. I don't really have any plans this weekend, so it looks like a weekend of cleaning and cooking for me. I'm really starting to get spring fever, so the cleaning urge (or what I call the urge to purge) is hitting me hard right now.

Before work this morning, it's off to Curves. I'm going to get re-weighed and measured today. I've been going there for a couple of years and haven't done that since I started. I've lost some weight since then and want to see where I stand.

Everyone have a great weekend!

02-24-2006, 07:36 AM
Good Morning all,
Hip, hip, hooray! :cheer: It's Friday! I don't mind my job, but I love my weekends!
I'm invited to a pajama party tonight, but I haven't decided yet whether or not I'm going to go. It's at one of my neighbor's, she's a divorced mom and seems very nice, but I don't really know her that well. I might go over for a few hours to watch a movie. Jake and I are getting up early to meet my SIL for breakfast, then we're going to a Longaberger auction that will last most of the day. I'm not planning to buy anything, but I love to see what prices they're getting for the baskets, and it's a lot of fun. DD may come, too, she's supposed to let me know sometime today. They have to take Nadia to the airport straight from school, and may drive out here afterwards and stay overnight. If that's what the plan is, then I'll skip the pajama party completely.
My lentil soup yesterday was MUCH improved by the addition of turkey sausage. I still threw the recipe out, though. I have better recipes for lentil soup, one I got from these boards. :D
Time to go to Curves, I'll check back later.

Good morning, Chickies!

Freaky, it sounds like you have a real "homey" weekend planned. Enjoy!

Jana, "a couple of years"? I'm impressed! :woo: I hope todays weigh-in is a pleasant surprise.

Cottage, I was shocked over the prices of those "Longaberger" baskets! Is it being so rare that makes them special? I have a friend in IN who is nuts over them. We call her Basketcase. How many calories in a Longaberger"?

Mamahulk, planning stuff for the weekend will certainly make things easier. Have you tried the Taco Bake yet? I think both you and the kidlets would enjoy it.

MsCrockett, doing "man" jobs is certainly exercise. What the heck do the docs know anyhow! I find it hard to believe but I understand folks with 20 pounds to lose have as much trouble as the rest of us. By the way, people who eat below 1000 calories may be skinny but there is no way they can be healthy.

My yesterday was really hectic and I did not eat properly after my planning. I just didn't have time to go into Foodsmiths and just grabbed a Quarter pounder (550 calories) enroute to visit Harry. I didn't get home form my Fair Board meeting until nearly ten last night and Hershey and I were in bed in 20 minutes! She was with me all day and was one tired but happy dog!

Today I have to be in town by eleven to work the charity Bingo for the Fair Board. No! It is NOT fun but actually pretty stressful as I am the one who controls the money and has to figure out prize payouts as a percentage of sales. It means being there before sales start at 11:30 to verify cash and Bingo sheets, doing cash and prizes when the thing starts and then balancing out at the end. My pal John usually works with me but his accident the other day has resulted in a cracked vertebrae in his neck so..... :(

Gotta dash.

By the way, just because I'm not in here early doesn't mean I'm asleep. Hershey and I were up before six this morning. It was freezing cold but beauthiful out on the deck. The sun was just starting to light the sky and there was a sliver of moon over th meadow. I can hardly wait for those beautiful May mornings.

I can answer number three. YES YES YES OMG I have sruggled with my weight all my life. No I am not obese but I have yo yoed up and down from overweight to healthy since I can remember. I am obsessed with food and I am always hungry. One week of no workouts and eating however I choose will easily add 5 or 7 pounds to the scale and it gets worse. I get comments from others about how "they" don't feel I need to loose weight and how easy it is for me. I want to scream at them about how hard I have to work to stay this weight and to loose that few extra pounds would be an amazing feat. I realize that people who have a lot more to losse look at me and think that I should be happy with what I've got. But I am not happy with being at the upper end of the healthy range. I want the lower end please!!!!

Good morning chicks! I'm soo glad it's friday. This weekend will be a busy one though. I have about 3 projects for my thesis and a class that I need to work on this weekend plus the usual laundry and cleaning. I don't really need to do a whole lot of cooking because I have things I can eat in the freezer and fridge but will probably end up cooking something anyway. Right now I'm having coffee with two of the rattie furbabies on my lap while my dog looks at me with the "I want a walk" look. I think I'll take her to the park this morning since it's supposed to be a beautiful day today. That way she can run instead of walk at my slow pace :) ! I plan to have a slow leisurely morning then get my butt in gear.

Freaky: Sounds like a fun weekend planned. Let us know all about it!

Jana: I love to clean. The feeling of a freshly nice cleaned house is one of the best in the world. You're a woman after my own heart!

Cottage: I mostly make lentil soup with curry spices. I love it that way and any other recipe for it just doesn't appeal to me. If you're in P2 cut ww pita bread in strips and brush them with olive oil, salt and pepper, and some garlic then toast them in the oven until they're crispy. They're yummy to dip in lentil soup.

MsCrockett: Take some down time for yourself, girl. It's so important! Oh, and I've asked myself the same question about anorexic people. Why doesn't there starvation mechanism kick in??? But I'm sure it does but they just take it way too extreme...opposite of the extremes we take. But once they do start to eat they can gain like 20-30 lbs in a month on very little food (I saw a show on it) so their metabolisms must be really messed up.

MamaHulk: Look on the internet, there's all sorts of cool recipes. I'm almost ashamed that I buy so many cookbooks when there's so much free stuff out there available. One of my guilty pleasures in search for recipes on the internet. then I print out what I like and I have a folder full of recipes sparated by categories. Good luck in your search. If you'd like I can give you some of my favorite sites.

Everyone else: Have a fabulous friday!

Hi Ruth!! We passed in posting! :D

02-24-2006, 09:38 AM
Good morning everybody. I'm feeling a little bit better today. My girls don't need a depressed mommy, so I'm going to try to be optimistic. We weighed Keely last night on my digital scale and she weighs 16 lbs. We're going to continue to weigh her once a week and keep note of her progress. Also, I'm going to go back to writing down everything she eats including calorie count. At least it'll make me feel like I'm doing something. Now I just need to wait for the developmental specialist to call me back. I'll be back later to respond to everybody after I run on the treadmill (thank goodness my back is feeling better!).

02-24-2006, 10:12 AM
I'm back. Stopped in for coffee and a chat with my mother, then came home and made some scrambled eggs and a muffin for breakfast. Brrrr.... it's cold and windy out there today! I had to stop for gas, and the wind was blowing me off balance while I was pumping! I sure do miss the "good old days" when their was an attendant to pump your gas for you.

usmchoney ~ Your little Keely has been in my thoughts. It's hard not to worry, but at least you're seeing a specialist, and they'll figure out how to make her start gaining.:crossed: and  to you.

pearshape ~ Curry sounds like it would be good in lentil soup. Can you PM me your recipe? Thanks!

I signed up today at Curves for a consultation with a Bra Specialist. She's coming in March, and apparently 85% of us women are wearing the wrong bra size. :^: I'm looking forward to hearing what she has to say, she's been featured on Oprah and has quite a following. I wonder how much her bras cost?
Well, I've got to run the vacuum before I pick up the girls. They ate crackers on the living room carpet yesterday, and I just noticed all the crumbs!

Good Morning Ladies:)

Very windy up on the Cape, winds are now 50 MPH and going up.We're also going to have snow squalls.

Sorry for being MIA for a couple of days, working a plan to get the scale going down,but....

Now the food plan[KB-QL-PS] ISN'T working I'm up 1 lb and that means I have to have a whooossssssssssh of 2-lbs at tomorrows W-I.To break that stall. Don't think its going to happen.Back to square one,for another week, than I have to find another way to get that STUPID scale moring down again.

I just can seem to get to know my balance to get the scale down as I posted above.Went to a couple of health web sites that told me to maintain my current weight I have to consume 1800 cals a day and if I want to lose a pound a week subtract 500 cal. that would bring me down to 1300 cal a day, which is 26 WW PTS. Thats what I doing this week.

:cheer: big congrat :cheer:to all how lost this week and to the ones how are shrinking also.

Miss Crocket-Thats a great question:?: about calories.Wish I knew the answer.I dealing with calories range also If I find the answer I will certainly let you know.

Have to go, willl be back later and if don't wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Hugs :) BB

Is it spring yet?? Although today will be in the 50's here, it's back to winter tomorrow!

I need to catch up on my cleaning and motivate myself to go workout today (my quads are ON FIRE from yesterday's lifting). I'm treating myself to a NF cappucino this morning...because...I deserve it! :)

TGIF everyone and have an excellent weekend!

02-24-2006, 10:59 AM
Just stopping in to wish everyone a Happy Friday!!! :cheer:
I hope you all have a great weekend!

02-24-2006, 11:04 AM
Quickie pop in before I leave.

Candice is here right now cleaning and my house will be shining when I get home! It's so great to have someone you can leave alone in your house and not have to worry about the dog getting out or the family heirlooms disappearing! It helps to know the person's grandparents, brothers and cousins! Gotta love small town living!

I'll try to get back in this afternoon to see how we're all geared up for the weekend. I intend to sit and read for one whole day, at least!

I am still on a high from yesterday...I had a great day :cp:. Even went to happy hour with DH and managed to take half my meal home for lunch today and stay OP and under calories...Then went to the gym and hit cardio hard for a half an hour, came home and got a strength training session in. I went to bed very late though so I am TIRED :faint:. Not much in store for today. DH is out of town till tonight. I have to work my SAH job for a bit then I am free! Have a busy work weekend so I better get some me time in tonight. Hope you all have a great OP day, remember chug a lug on your water, and move the body your mama gave ya! :carrot:

Freaky – I wish my weekend meant freedom…I guess tonight is really the only portion of the weekend I do not have anything to do. Saturday and Sunday I have to shoot a soccer tournament from 8 to 4:30 each day, at least it looks like the weather should cooperate with me. I hope you have fun, sounds like you will.

Cottage – I think you should go to the slumber party, it sounds fun.

MsCrockett – I am so proud of you, sounds like you have been really staying OP, which I know is hard to do. As for starvation mode, ofcourse you will lose weight doing it, but you will also lose muscle, while you make look better on the outside the machine of your body is just a big mess inside… :nono:

Mamahulk – That was me last night, I could only get through the first half of my strength routine and the laziness and avoidance hit me. I just forced myself to finish, that’s what us chickies gotta do!

Ruth – you busy bee you, try to have some fun at bingo.

Pear – Good morning

Usmchoney – Good job getting that treadmill in early, I myself am a procrastinator

Beachbum – Wish I could help but I am at a loss when it comes to WW points, don’t understand it

Scatzi – have fun outside today, say hello to the sunshine for me. :flow1:

Crk, rotten banana – GOOD MORNING, hope your days go well.

02-24-2006, 11:45 AM
Morning 2 pages already!! Chatty chatty!
Freaky - Your weekend sounds like fun. Sometimes I wish I had a more traditional working schedule. I'm working this weekend, but I'm working with my boss & she's actually very helpful on the weekends, so it should be fun.
JanaM - Spring cleaning? Ugh - I hate the cleaning part, but I do love a clean house!
Cottage - The pajama party sounds like fun (i think) mom use to be a rep, so her house is (er was) filled with them. I have swiped a few.
Crock - Take care of yourself...there's no reason to hurt yourself. Your family needs you to be healthy!
Mamahulk - have fun with the kids this weekend
Ruthie - Can Candice come down here & clean after she's done with your house?
Pear - enjoy your puppy time in the park! Do you have any sites for low carb recipes?
USMC - Keely & you are in my prayers/thoughts!
bb - I don't understand calories either. Those sites tell me that I can eat 1850 to maintain (but who wants to do that!) Why is it so easy to gain, but 20 times harder to lose?
Schatzi - send some of that 60 degree weather up my way in the great lakes! It's windy & cold here!
Rotten - I gotta catch up with my cleaning too - not fun!
Crk05 - Hello, hope all is well with you!
ME - I'm going to cleaning this pig pen today & grocery shop. Then it's off to the laundry. I want to stop by the school at the end of the day & hand out AVON brochures. I also have a b-day party to go to, but I really don't want to go - ever feel that way? Have a great day!

Hi everyone! I just got back from getting all the money straight for our Brownie troop. It was a lot of money and I'm glad it's in the bank and not in my posession anymore.

I have several errands to run but I'm contemplating leaving them for tomorrow. I rarely have a Friday where I can just be home by myself, I'm usually out running around and I'm so needing a day alone in peace and quiet. But then I think about all that I can get done out and about without dragging kids that don't want to go and I usually head off. Decisions, decisions.

Seems like everyone is glad the weekend is on it's way. I'm not sure what I'm doing tomorrow. I'm thinking about going shopping for a food processor, I've always wanted one. Tomorrow evening we might be going out to dinner with friends, that should be fun but I'm just as content to hang out at home.

Sunday my son has his last indoor soccer game. Lacrosse starts up soon, all 3 kids are playing this year so that should be interesting.

I'm gonna run, have a great OP day!

02-24-2006, 01:49 PM
How glad am I that it is Friday... :woo: very glad.

The best part about this weekend...We have ~nothing~ scheduled. Clothes are washed, apartment is clean. Bf and I are being bums all weekend. :spin: Well, I do have to grocery shop tonight. We've had a very busy month and it will be nice to relax and not be running all over the city.

I've decided starting on Monday, I'm going to go back to P1 for 3 days. I have not been exactly OP for about 2 1/2 weeks and these cravings are getting bad and with V-Day candy still on the shelves (and 50% off) and Easter candy also on the shelves, I need to calm them down. I am also starting my workout routine again...this time I am going to try and stick to it. 3 days at the gym a week.

I hope everyone has a great weekend...Don't clean too much :) ...don't run too many errands :) . Relax and fun!

I'm home from work again today.... DH was like "why are you even going to bother going in when you know they're going to send you right home?" Oh yeah. So, I called my boss and told him that.

However, after several more hours of sleep (I just can't seem to stay awake) my face seems to have opened up. Far less pressure than before, teeth don't hurt anymore, no headache, etc. I think I'm on the mend! Still no appetite due to the snot cosumption, but doing ok.

Called the doctor yesterday (who's on vacation, conveniently) and the nurse never called back. She's going to get an earful if she ever calls back today. Granted, I feel much better, but still.

Well, should probably eat something today and lie back down on the couch. There's a permanent Lisa-imprint on the cushions from me lying on it all week. This is the worst virus I think I've ever had. Talk to you all soon.

02-24-2006, 04:19 PM
Is there a doctor in the house? I've spent most of the day doing research on the internet, but maybe you'll be able to give me more insight.

Well, I just got a call from her doctor. It seems that the most of her bloodwork came back normal, but he's concerned about the liver blood enzymes. He said they were elevated. The normal range for ALT is somewhere between 20 and 64. Hers was 633. The normal range for AST is somewhere between 15 and 37. Hers is 734. We have to go back next Wednesday so she can have more blood drawn and they can repeat the test. He said he doesn't want me to panic but these levels can be a sign of liver disease or failure. How am I not supposed to panic?!

02-24-2006, 05:33 PM
Hello!!!! I have missed you guys this week!! I have been so busy with stuff that I have not had time to post at all this week!

OK - so my good news is - as of today I lose the two pounds I gained from the pizza binge last weekend. The bad news is - it took me and ENTIRE WEEK to do it. SO - I lost 2 pounds this week - and I'm so relieved. But it just feels like a waste of a week. Did I mention that pizza is the devil???

Ok - next week hopefully I'll be back in the game and posting. Getting on here in the morning really helps me gear up for a good SB kind of day!

I hope everyone has had a good week!

02-24-2006, 06:12 PM
USMC...((((big hugs))))
I know it's hard not to panic, but Keely doesn't need that. She needs her mommy to be there for her. I am sorry I don't know anything about the liver or those numbers. Continue writing down everything like you said you were doing...that way the doctors have all the information that can get.
We are all praying for the 2 of you. Please let us know if there is any more news.

02-24-2006, 08:56 PM
Not sure if any of you will read any more of this thread tonight. But I want you all to know how much you all mean to me. You are all so encouraging. If you have 10lbs or a lot more to loose you all are so healpful and encouraging. I just want you all to know, this site truly keeps me motivated. I hope some of you read this because I just want to say thank you to all.

02-25-2006, 01:49 AM
Can't believe I finally made it to the's already Saturday for some of you guys.

I've had the worst 3 weeks of computer luck in my life. Work and home, systems down! Ugh. Finally got things fixed today at home.

It's been so long I didn't even do the February challenge! Anyway I've been trying to catch up on posts and decided it's impossible after that long. Hi to all the new "faces" I'm reading.

Who asked about a doctor in the house? I'm not a doctor but I play one at work. Elevated liver enzymes can be lots of things....that are temporary. Mono and Epstein Barr are just a few common ones. No panicking! Mine were way up about 3 summers ago and I felt awful. Come to find out I had mono AND Epstein Barr. After 3 weeks the levels were back to normal.

Schatzi, good to see you still have your attitude, but could you please NOT tell me about your 60 degree weather???????????????????????

Well, I'm at work right now until 0600 (extra shift) you all have a great weekend!
