Well back to work  which at least means back to some sort of scheduled day :p which at least usually means better eating habits for me ;)
It's going to be a long day. I have mandatory car seat training. This is where we sit half the day and hear a lecture about proper car seat installment and then we practice putting in car seats the other half of the day. Never you mind that I have one in my car and have been doing this for almost six years :dizzy: and since I started this job I haven't even once had to put a car seat in a vehicle as part of my job. Oh Well!!!
I am now drinking my "get up and go" coffee and reciting repetedly "I will be in control of what I put in my mouth today and every day there after". Not going near a scale for at least two or three days after my poor choices and down right scary choices this weekend.
See ya all on the beach later!!!!
02-21-2006, 06:43 AM
Rise n Shine!!!!!! :flow1:
Mornin there Freaky girl-- our earliest of early birds! wow, that training sounds B O R I N G ...snorefest...
Speaking of snoring... DH is home  and it was sooo good to have him snoring and snarfling next to me all night..
Waiting for the sun to rise here... will be heading out to the craft stores to check out some flower boxes for the railing...SPRING CANT GIT SOON ENOUGH!!!!
Time fer cawfee and my crossword puzzle!
02-21-2006, 07:04 AM
Good morning, Chicklets~~:coffee:
Haven't had my cawffeee, yet, Schatzi...still need to summon up enough energy to make it. Right now, we are a one car family and I hate it. This means if I need the car (which I do today), I have to get up and take hubby to meet up with his work partner. Blah!!
Freaky, you need to make a suggestion about getting "car seat certified". That way you can wave your little certificate and get excused from class. Talk about a world class time waster! Sheesh!! Do they think you have nothing better to do with your time???
Okay, off to stumble downstairs....
02-21-2006, 07:17 AM
Hello Schatzi and Mamacita,
I just finished my exercise and I began feeling like I was going to throw ip towards the end of the weight training and I still feel that way. Either I am getting sick or I am having some strange reaction to exercising today. I suddenly feel like curling back up in my bed. This is not like me at all. Anyone else get sick while exercising?
02-21-2006, 07:31 AM
Freaky, that has happened to me once or twice, but it usually passes quickly. Sit down for a while, and if you still feel ill, call off from work and take it easy. I hope you're not coming down with something.
Schatzi, I'd love to be doing what you're doing today. I can't wait to start playing in the dirt again, and your flower garden plans sound lovely.
Mamacita, isn't it a shame that we're such a 2-car society these days? I would be totally at a loss without mine!
Right after Curves this morning, I have an appt at a new hair salon to have my hair cut and colored. I've heard good things about this new place, so I hope they live up to my expectations. They're just up the block from my house, so that's handy. I told them I have to be done by 11, so they are opening 1/2 hour early for me!
02-21-2006, 07:41 AM
Freaky, hope you feel better quick - wouldn't want to miss that exciting class. ;) Mamacita, I like your suggestion about the certification.
Schatzi - I'm anxious for spring to get here too. I need to spend more time outside this year. Hoping to work on my landscaping a bit.
Cottage - Enjoy your beauty day!!!!
I ended up taking a 1/2 day off work yesterday afternoon because we weren't very busy. So, we'll see what awaits me today. I've got a "thrilling" evening ahead of me. Time to get the taxes done. Oh well, it's a necessary evil. At least I'll be getting a refund.
Have a great day!
02-21-2006, 07:50 AM
Good morning Schatzi, Mama, Freaky, and Cottage! Here's to a wonderfully OP day to all! :spin:
Freaky I think you DEFINITELY need to take the day off. Tell them Dr. Kiko said so!
Cottage Ahhh.. a cut and color! That always feels so wonderful. :) I am sure you will look like a babe! :goodvibes
Schatzi Gotta love those snoring and snarfing hubbies. You crack me up!
Mama Hope it isn't too cold where you are as you venture out this morning.
Me- Weigh in was this morning and I am thrilled to have maintained. Apparently these last two days of working the program helped me out. I have 3 pounds to go to make my February goal and don't see that happening in a week. I will be happy to just still be in the downward direction... :goodscale
I am having a string of "life is good" days. You know what I mean? I am fortuanate to not battle depression or anything like that, but I can get stressed, caought up in work, and down in the dumps. I have just had several good days- with my kids, work, my husband, and have been focusing on **me** and what I need as well. Just feeling overall good about life. Now- if that mystery million dollar check would just show up in my mailbox today I would be set!!
Wishing everyone lots of will power today!!
As you can tell by my chatty self- I only have one kiddo to get out of the house this morning. I seem to always run later on those days b/c I get to check in here early.
02-21-2006, 08:05 AM
Goooooooood Morrrrrrrrrning room,
Man this is some early peeps, here................ I see everyone is doing well,
Freaky~ good to see you up an at em..... I though about putting you on a milk carton yesterday,, I am used to u starten the day off,, thought you were MIA>
Hope everyone has a great day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,
02-21-2006, 08:18 AM
Freaky- Hope you feel better soon. But if you had tomiss today that would not be the worst thing. Smarty pants is missing it today because he has court- whatever.
I agree with the certified thins. I have 3 kids in car seats and have fro almost 7 years- this training is insane and an insult to parents who care about thier kids safety. I have not had to put a child in a car seat either for almost a year at this job. SO I am not happy either.
DVD player couldn't work again, kids lost remote yesterday. SO I did my air glider this morning. I gained 2 lbs this week. SO it is time to step it up. Don't think I will make my goal by March 2nd but will die trying!!!!
Don't think I am motivated as much as I should be. ANy suggestions how I can push myself harder?
WEll time to Shower, have a great day everyone.
02-21-2006, 08:20 AM
 at MsCrockett and the milk carton crack!
It seems I'm always just dashing in and out of the henhouse these days. Hershey is to blame because I'm sleeping "late". I think I miss having company in the bed because I'm sleeping right through since she started joining me. That will have to stop when Lucy gets home but, in the meantime,......
No time to comment on EveryChick because I'm due at my periodontist for a recheck at 8:30 and it's a 90 minute drive. I need to do two month's worth of flossing before I go!
Catch y'all later!
02-21-2006, 08:38 AM
Good MOrning everyone. I am still pretty new around here and haven't checked in yet this week. I ate bad on Friday nite. I ate chinese food w/the fried rice and then later that night caved into a bowl of chocolate ice cream. The next day I thought, Next time I'm not caving unless it is Bryers or Ritters frozen custard! IT wasn't worth it.
Anyway, right back on plan but the scale just won't budge downward. I'm disappointed!!! Except for that Ice Cream I'm eating NO SUGAR. How could I NOT be losing??? The only thing I can think of is over doing it on the Mixed Nuts which I LOVE and when I'm hungry, I eat them. I guess I could try skip;ping the nuts for a few days.
It is VERY cold here in Indiana!! I can't wait for spring!!
02-21-2006, 09:17 AM
Good morning, ladies. I woke up later than I wanted to but the good news is that I rechecked an assignment that I thought was due today and it's not due until thursday. Cool. So this morning I'll catch up on reading and spend some cuddle time with my furbabies while doing so. yesterday's eating was a little better but I found these chinese noodles in my freezer and made them with some chicken and broccoli. It was yum but the noodles were not OP. Why didn't I just use some ww pasta?? It would've been just as good and OP. I'm an idiot! Oh well, I have my meals planned out for today and am goona stick to 1250 calories. Bfast is steel cut oats, lunch is thai shrimp soup and a veggie, and dinner is chickpea ww pasta w/ summer squash and mushrooms.
You all are gonna think I'm crazy but I added another furbaby to the family. HIs name is Thodore and he's 5 weeks old..he weighs 2 oz. He's adorable and is the sweetest kissiest baby already. He was about to be sold as the f-word but I convinced the guy to buy humanely killed frozen food instead. What a special gem I got out of this, he's been kissy and bruxy (a rat's purr) eversince I brought him home. He's in my avatar!
Have a fabulous day! I'm wishing willpower dust on everyone....please send some my way too, ladies! :)
02-21-2006, 09:23 AM
Good morning everybody. I mananged to stay OP yesterday, so I'm really happy about that. Unfortunately, I pulled something in my back while trying to pick up my oldest and have been in excruciating pain ever since. Today, I'll be taking it easy. I just hope this passes quickly; I have way too much to do to be lying down all day.
Debbie: I'd give it a few more days. Your slip-up was only a few days ago. I have to admit that I'm a slave to my scale. A pound or two the wrong way and I'd feel defeated. This weekend I've decided to remove it from the bathroom and bury it in the back of my hall closet. I'm hoping that it'll be less of a distraction now.
mamahulk: 16 lbs is nothing to sneeze at. I think your doctor will be very happy. Maybe losing another 8 lbs before March 2 isn't realistic. Just keep up the good work and let things happen.
Freaky: Sounds like a...um...interesting day. I wouldn't be able to concentrate on such a dry subject. My mind would be wandering all over the place.
Cottage: I love getting my hair done. It always makes me feel good. Have fun!
Schatzi: Boy, do I here you about Spring. How can it go to nearly 70 degrees to bone-chilling cold? I can't wait for it to warm up and stay that way.
Have a great day everybody!
02-21-2006, 09:27 AM
Good morning chickies
Debbie~~Good to see you posting. Your progress might be stalled by too much sodium/salt. It looks like you had alot with the nuts and chinese food. This week try to limit your salt intake and increase your water intake. This will help to flush out the water retension.
Freaky~~I second the idea of you staying home today:judge:
Ruth~~I have a dental cleaning today, too. Flossing as I type.
Today was my weigh-in and i am down 1 pound. I have 1 more to go to meet Feb. goal. I just might make it.
02-21-2006, 10:05 AM
Morning girls! I tried something new this morning...I ate salad for breakfast. It wa so good, and actually made me want to drink water...which is very hard for me to do in the morning.
Pear- Love ya, but OMG another rat??? People think I am crazy with my dogs :)
Ruth- Why don't u just let both of them cuddle up in the bed with you?
Schatzi- I wish it were spring here too..I hate cold
Kiko- you DD is so cute
2B- Great Job
Freaky & USM- get some rest
Ms Crockett- I love you avatar
MamaHUlk- Maybe you can play hookie today too!!
We have decided to stay in the same house and put on 2 additions..I can't wait!!! I went up to the gym here at my job (have not been visiting there...bad girl) Anyway, there is a bunch of new equipment. I am so excited. Starting back to a program tomorrow with a coworker...give me so support here!!!!
02-21-2006, 10:20 AM
Wow...I'm actually up early enough to post in the daily when it's only ONE page long!
I know I can't get to everyone (though I'd LOVE to...), but I did read everyone's posts. It's so good to see the daily so active! :D
Freaky, I do better on a schedule, too. Hopping back on the wagon after a slip up is a sign of future success, hon...good for you! It's possible that you felt sick either from low blood sugar or from lack of water. Both can cause you to feel nauseous. Try eating a little something, if you can (or even sip a tiny bit of sugared soda (no bubbles...get rid of them with ice) or juice) and drink some water...see how you feel. Hope it gets better!
Schatzi: snoring and snarfling! :lol3: Mine does the same. What puzzle do you do in the morning?
Mamacita, I hear you! :coffee: Mine is brewing downstairs...I set it before I took my shower. I'm trying to motivate DH to go to the gym by going with him...at 5:30 a.m.! :tired:
Cottage, enjoy your cut n' color! I have to get mine done...I love the way my hairstylist does my highlights, but I asked her to do a specific haircut and brought her seven pictures of it so she'd know exactly what I wanted. I didn't get it. So now I'm trying to decide if I should get it done somewhere else...I'm also motivated by the fact that this hairstylist is an hour away!
Kiko, it's great to hear you sounding so cheery!
Ruth, about 2 months of flossing...didn't Suzanne's (or was it Jennifer?)gum issues scare you like it scared me? :yikes: I've been flossing like a crazy woman ever since. :D <---See my teeth? Drive safely and enjoy the late mornings...you deserve them!
Debbie, you can easily affect your weight loss with nuts. Stick to one serving a day and no more. They have tons of fat and calories. If you can't control your eating with them, don't eat them at all...have something else to get your healthy fats, Omega 3's and Vit. E, okay? :D Don't feel bad about that...there's several Beachies here who've had to give up nuts because they can't stop eating them! That said, are you craving now? I know I would be after that meal...if so, do Phase 1 until the cravings are gone. It'll also get you back on track with your weight, I believe. :goodluck:
Pear, congrats on the new ratty! :D  Does he have a name yet? I didn't realize that ratties purr...how cool! Is it a tooth grind or a noise they make in their throat? Lots of people are surprised when I tell them about my bunnies' purring (buns purr by slowly grinding their teeth in pleasure).
Feel better, USM!
Sil, congrats on your hard work this month!
Sound like a lot of people are so close to goal this month...that's awesome! :cp: :hat: :cb: Unfortunately, I'm not... :( I was, for a while, but now I'm up quite a bit. Could be water from strength training yesterday...or a side effect of only getting 3 hours of sleep the night before last...so I'm just not going to sweat it. I know I'll get there. These last 20 pounds are SO hard to get rid of!!!
I'm frustrated that my view of my body seems to change at will. One day, I'm thinking how tiny I am compared to before. The next day, I'm thinking how fat I am as I look at the rolls I still have. :( Wish I could stay in the first mindset because I think it'll lead to better health!
Have couples therapy this morning and am really not looking forward to it. Our therapist was super-hard on my last week and I'm not sure what she'll whip out today. :sorry: Then the rest of the afternoon is mine. I think I'll work some on my late v-day gift for DH and then box up some of the presents I have from our France trip...they need to be mailed out!
Have a bright  and sunny :sunny: day, chickies, even if it is cold. Spring is coming...sometime.
02-21-2006, 10:25 AM
Good morning chickies!
Today is day 6 for me OP and I'm so glad that I've managed to stick with it. I feel so good following this, I'm sleeping better, I'm no longer bloated. Granted I'm still fighting the urge to chow down on junk, I know that it's just a mental thing now and that I have to work through it.
Freaky - I know if I've over done it with my workout I've felt ill before. Hoping you're feeling better!
Schatzi - My husband snores too, I hate it most of the time but I do miss it when he's been gone a few days.
Cottage - Hope you enjoy your morning at the salon, I love having my hair done.
Jana - I haven't even started my taxes yet. I need to call the IRS, I have a question about something before I begin and I keep putting it off.
Kiko - I love it when things are going good, I try to treasure those days.
Mamahulk - My children are always losing the remote, drives me crazy!
Debbie - Just keep at it, sometimes I feel like I'll go along not losing and then it's like whoosh and I've lost 3 pounds.
Pear - Your rat is so cute! My daughter has a guinea pig, she's 2yrs old and the neatest little animal. Her name is Precious, she's black and white, like an oreo cookie and we call her the diva pig. She likes things to be a certain way and acts up if she doesn't get her way.
usmchoney - Sorry to hear you pulled your back, take it easy, no more lifting!
2BFIT1 - Congrats on the 1 pound loss!
kyemom - I've never thought of eating a salad for breakfast, thanks for the idea!
I'll check back later, have a great OP day!
02-21-2006, 10:50 AM
Welcome Theodore!!!! Pearsy, darlin, honestly, yer becoming our female version of "Willard" (hmm, fer you baby chicks, that was a B Horror flick in the 70')...And how is my Cecil??????
BG: I've been a crossword addict fer years... my favorite puzzler is Merl Reagle. You can read about him here.... http://www.sundaycrosswords.com/
I have all his books, and actually restarted them since no one compares to his level of wit and clever construction.. for example, I'm working on a puzzle called "anagram nicknames", and a clue is "director who is into wild parties"..The answer is "orgies Leone" HE HEEEEEEEEEEEE! or another..."an ultra trim golfer?..answer: NOLARD Palmer AACK!!!
USMChoney: yeah weird eh? I made the most of our 2 days of 70 degree weather..Washed the car, raked the yard etc and took a hikette at Harris Lake.
Debbieo5: I'm NUTTY fer NUTS! perhaps we were both squirrels in a prior life
Ruthie: enjoy sleepin later..you deserve it darlin!
all you other great chicks have a MARVY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alrighty chickas... Gotta go ---- WHOOSH---- got a full day planned!
02-21-2006, 10:55 AM
beachgal: Yes, it's called bruxing. They grind their teeth, puff air in and out of their mouths, and if they are REALLY happy their eyes bulge in and out. It's the weirdest thing to see. They can also brux when they're stressed just like cats will purr if their stressed or in pain sometimes. BTW, I've had rabbits when I was a kid but they always died so quickly. Last year I met a girl who had one that had free range of the house and was potty trained. She said her bunny was the best sweetest pet she ever had. Maybe one day I'll have a bunny too, but I'd need to research them to make sure I could give them what they need. :)
Thanks to everyone for the positive comments about my rattie babies. It warms my heart. I get so many weird and even hurtful comments about them when people find out I have rats as pets that positive ones, and I do get those too, really lift my spirits. The weirdest one was "Well at least you don't look like the type of person to have rats".....What exactly does a rat lover look like?? Another person, who I didn't really even know, said she was going to give me rat poison for Christmas. How cruel! How would people like it if I made comments like that about their puppies or kittens?? If people could just get over their preconcieved predjudices they'd see what fabulous little affectionate babies they are.
OK, I'm hungry but am going to wait for lunch....back to hit the books! ;)
02-21-2006, 10:58 AM
Schatzi: Cecil is fabulous and is getting big. He is the gentlest and shyest of all the boys but is very sweet. His favorite cuddle spot is in my bathrobe in the morning. BTW, he wants to visit his godmom for summer vacation !
02-21-2006, 11:13 AM
AACK !Opposites attract! My shy gentle leetle Godrat can come visit anytime... He will be returned chubby and happy and well dressed in a pink boa..
Why no girl rats? yes, a Prunella! Is there no alpha fighting amonst the boys?
02-21-2006, 11:33 AM
I'm hoping to get back to the gym this evening -- I haven't been since Friday morning and only had putting together a bureau as my exercise over the weekend (which involved carrying several large pieces of fake wood up two flights of stairs, so I think it counts).
I'm down one pound this week. I added in a fair number of fruits and grains, though, so I would expect the slowdown. Not more than 1 or two servings a day -- but I'm concerned it's going to make me gain weight. Also, I tried to increase my caloric intake with beans and olive oil spread on some of my veggies and couscous. I'm going to a nutritionist this week, so we'll see what she says. It's weird, though, I've stopped craving sweets and salty snacks even when they're in my presence.
Beachgal -- I vary day to day on how I'm feeling. Today, I feel quite svelte. The other days, I just tell myself, "Well, I'm feeling healthier than ever!"
Pearshape, I'm very in favor of people being devoted to their pets (My family doesn't have 7 cats for nothing) -- but I have to admit, white rats with red eyes scare me. :o Deep-seated fear, like my fear of cacti. But that's MY reason for not having rats -- I wouldn't malign your love of them!
Can't respond to everybody, unfortunately, because work calls:dizzy:
02-21-2006, 11:35 AM
Pearsy, Pearsy...you make me giggle. Another furbaby....you'll have fun moving all those babies when you graduate!
Schatzi - still holding on to the pink boa idea huh?
Ruthie - you sound like me...I'm not a fan of flossing, but I have to. If I don't my teeth are just gross.
3 - Stick with it - you'll be happy that you did. Junk food is over rated!
Beachgal - have fun..maybe the therapist won't be so tough today.
Cottage - enjoy your cut & color...I hope it looks good!
Freaky - take care of yourself
Mama - Hello! Make sure Freaky doesn't over do it!
Mamacita - my coffee is brewing as well, I need to kick in the pants!
Debbie - I have the same problem with nuts & peanut butter - I can't do it!
kiko,kye, usm, & sil - good morning
Me....I'm trying to feel better after this awful weekend. I finally made up with my crazy sister - she's still crazy, but I love her & I want her to know that. We talked for over a hour last night. My eyes are still swollen from crying & now my leg hurts. I have a husky kitty that feels the need to comfort me by sleeping on my leg. So I now have a heating pad on my leg. Well I'm off to start my taxes - fun!

Oh boy! Tuesday Tell All. Sounds scandelous! Are you ready? . . .
Tomorrow is going to be my last required AA! For those of you who don't know, in March 05, I got a DWI & have been paying for it ever since. I'm not really an alcoholic but I made a stupid mistake and I've been treated like one ever since. I am so sick of it & tomorrow will be my last AA meeting!!! I can't breath a sigh of relief quite yet though because I still need to complete a 6-week outpatient treatment program. Just thought I'd let ya'll know. So working (major recent changes in management & new products), going to the gym, AA, cooking, cleaning, & all the other things in life have sure been keeping me busy! Somehow I'm finding the strength to keep eating OP & keep up my recent "no smoking" lifestyle.
Praise the Lord!
Tonight, I'm signing up for a year long membership to my gym!!! I'm excited to get there 'cause I haven't weighed myself in almost 2 weeks & I know I've lost weight! DH guess is 6 lbs, mine is 1lb! I can't wait to find out.
I hope everyone has a fab day!

02-21-2006, 12:15 PM
Morning, everyone! I've been working for quite awhile but only now have a break to chime in. Tonight is our Blue and Gold dinner at our Cub Scout Pack meeting. It is a spaghetti dinner and I do plan to take a small portion and eat lots of salad. I'll bring my salad dressing so I don't have to worry about being tempted by something unhealthy like Thousand Island. I'm planning to load up on veggies at lunch and snacks since I know there aren't any planned on the menu. Brian will be presented with his Bear rank tonight so it is a special night for him.
I finally got a nice workout in last night. It felt good to get back to the gym. Today is the TAKS reading test for Brian. All kids have to pass it to go to the next grade starting in third grade. I'm sure he will do fine but it is a lot of pressure for some of the kids that aren't good readers.
02-21-2006, 12:18 PM
OK, so I just made the Thai Shrimp soup from the new cookbook. It's good but tastes like somethings missing. It's surprisngly mild tasting. I added soysauce to it but still a little bland. It's good, nice and refreshing-very citrusy tasting. I would recommend it but would say to try to spice it up a little more. Maybe some garlic??
Schatzi: No girl rats because I don't want to have to deal with separate cages and definitely don't want baby rats, even though they would just be adorable. My boys share a huge 5 ft tall rattie "penthouse"...plus girls get tumors more frequently than boys and are not as snuggly..but my friend has girls and they are funny, boistrous, and very kissy.
Sunlit: One cuddle with my Percival would quickly cure your fear. He is my sweetest most friendly, kissy rat, loves nothing more than to snuggle and be pet while bruxing and bulging his eyes like crazy...and new baby Theodore is quickly following in his big PEW (PinkEyedWhite) brothers footsteps. ;)
Soon: Glad you're feeling a little better! Taxes, that reminds me!! Gotta get on that. Did you get the check for the AVON? Oh, and yes, it will be an adventure driving cross country with 5 rats and a dog! HEHEE! Can't wait!
02-21-2006, 12:58 PM
Thai shrimp...sounds good. My cookbook is MIA...will have to find. Pear - haven't check the mail yet....not of fan of bills! Did you like your AVON samples? I can send you some more...let me know which ones you like.
Still haven't done the taxes yet.....heehee
02-21-2006, 01:31 PM
The good news: this flu has made me lose a ton of weight. The bad news: I know as soon as I get better that it'll come right back. The other bad news is that I didn't work out Sunday, yesterday, and I don't think I'm going to have the energy today.
Just a quick pop-in while I'm in my Nyquil-induced daze. I called in to work today. I'm down to 130 lbs but I have a feeling that me not being able to drink anything might have something to do with that.
Thanks for all the prayers and happy thoughts. I had the fever from early morning until 5pm yesterday and then poured sweat for four hours. I feel like crap, but have managed to keep myself medicated constantly so hopefully I won't have to go through the fever again today.
They need a DISINFECTANT DUST thingy.
Hope you all have a great day.
02-21-2006, 02:01 PM
OHH GOSH< Get better weezle!!
02-21-2006, 02:13 PM
Had a an appointment with the :stress:TAX MAN:stress:this morning. We don't have to pay, we're getting refund. YIPEEEEEEEEEE!!!
Made a different type of lasagna for lunch no  noodles just rice it come out good, except the rice didn't have a crust like the noodles make.
Have a good afternoon Hugs :) BB
02-21-2006, 02:44 PM
I hope you feel better soon, Weezle, it sounds like you are getting very dehydrated which can be dangerous. Take care!
Pear - The last time I made the Thai Shrimp Soup I chopped the ginger up in the chopper and used extra and it really gave the whole soup a wonderful flavor. I also added sliced mushrooms and lots of chopped scallions in addition to the cilantro. DH likes his food spicier so he adds extra red pepper flakes and hot pepper sauce to his. I like it just the way I described it here. I LOVE ginger. I think it would be good with garlic too. Oh, and I usually use lime peel rather than lime zest. That makes for a stronger lime flavor.
Been a good day so far, been doing well , I started Phase II yesterday and added Oatmeal for breakfast and an Apple for lunch,, No Cravings and doing well.
Weezle!~~get well soon,, and take care of yourself while you are ill.
Hope everyones day is well...................Take Care All
02-21-2006, 03:30 PM
Quickish driveby - sooooo busy...
Less than a month to go in the quarter. Registration is at the end of the month; I'm thinking I'll take pre-calculus, intro to chemistry, and professional report writing. DS will be able to go to daycare more days around the end of the 2nd week of the quarter next quarter, so since these are mostly online classes (chem meets once a week on campus), I think I'll be able to make it until then.
DH took my bday off last week, which was a great present :) The three of us watched movies, and I made a "main-dish antipasto" for dinner: steamed and cooled veggies, chickpeas, and roasted peppers in a vinaigrette, with kalamata olives, albacore tuna, and mozzarella, all on a bed of spring greens. We had some crusty, warm sourdough with it - mmm! :D It was a nice day!
The first of DS's birthday parties (the one for DH's family) was this last Sunday. It went well and everyone had fun. The second party is next Sunday, for my family and for kids.
School is going well - still maintaining straight A's. I just got my first soc paper back, I got a 94/100 on it. Also just got my 2nd geology midterm back - got 107% on it. I've got about a 96% in soc and about 98 or 99% in geology, so not too bad. I'm dead exhausted though!
My folks are going to give me a raised garden bed for my bday, which we'll build during my spring break. Also during my break, I'll be doing "OAQC": Once a Quarter Cooking! It's been soooo nice to have meals in the freezer all these busy nights; I wish I'd done enough for the whole quarter! So that is what I'll do for next quarter--cook up enough food for 4-5 dinners a week (or as much as I can fit in my freezer - now I wish I had gone with a larger one, after all!).
I miss all you chickies! I pop by to skim over the posts whenever I can, but I rarely have time to make more than a quick response here and there. I'll be so glad when I have more time (the only reason I have time now is because I'm very naughtily postponing working on an assignment)!
Have a terrific day, chickies! Until next time!

pearshape - I'm appalled that someone could say that about your pets! I don't personally care to keep rodents, reptiles, or arachnids as pets, but just because they're not my cup of tea - I'd never knock someone for loving them!
weezle - take care and feel better soon!

Well yesterday was not the best day but still pretty good. I did go off plan but managed to keep my portion and calories per day in check. Did strength training last night even though I did not want to. DId not get my water in though, I have been slacking on that. Today should be an easy day. Hoping to get some cardio in at the gym tonight. Nothing to do but make some money at my at home job...good luck today girls.
Freaky – good luck staying awake through that one. Sometimes I get headaches while exercising, never physically sick though…
Schatzi – you must have missed DH terribly, I go crazy when mine goes on business trips…
Cottage – You will have to post pictures of your new do!
Kiki – I am glad you are feeling good about things. I know how it is to be stressed, money is my biggest worry lately.
MsCrockett – good morning J
Mamahulk – any celebrities/fitness models/other people you are inspired by looking at? My biggest problem area is my butt, I think Marissa Miller (si swimsuit model) has the perfect butt. I had my before pictures and a picture of Ms. Miller from behind printed out wallet size at Walmart. Anytime I want to overeat or skip a workout I force myself to look over my pictures…that usually does it for me.
Ruth – you busy bee, have a good day!
Debbie – Chinese food is my weakness. I can’t avoid it when the opportunity comes up, but I am learning to make smarter choices about it and eat less of what I am served. Fried rice is REALLLLLLYYYYYYY bad for you as well that may be the culprit for your stalled loss.
Pear – you are the animal rescue hero of the forum…the new baby is very cute.
Usmchoney – ouch, I hope your back gets to feeling better.
2befit1 – congrats! That is awesome you are so close to your goal…
kyemom – a gym at work is so convenient…and a coworker for support is great.
Beachgal – my mindset changes quite a bit as well…just look at your ticker though hun 135 lbs! Your on your way to being a hottie!!! Only (notice I said ONLY) 18 more lbs to go, that’s nothing compared to what you have done. I know you can do it!
Soon – good to see you are making the best of the situation. That’s funny about your kitty, my puppy is the same way.
Demeter – way to go on the gym membership. Paying for a contract at the gym also serves as motivation to me, I do not want to waste the money by not going. Also when you are under contract and canceling is not an option it gets to be one of those free activities, gotta pay the bill anyway so no excuse not to go even if you are broke.
Weezle – Oh hun I did not even know you were sick. I hope you get to feeling better!
Hko – nice to see you are doing so well. You deserve the success with your grades we all know how hard you work!

Hey you guys,
Doing SO much better today than I was yesterday. Must be the pizza that I had for dinner last night... had been craving and craving and finally gave in and ordered a medium from a local place that does thin crust whole wheat. Ate my 2 pieces (which is better than 6 that I might have done before) and have no regrets!
Slept for 10 hours last night and am feeling better today!
Hope everyone has a great day, the weather here still sucks!
Changing my tracker cause not sure exactly where I'm at right now... changed my goal to 140 and thinking (hoping) I'm still below the 160 mark.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to pop in before I fix dinner. I've had a good day so far, I even came home and did my new yoga dvd. I really liked it.
Battling the blues, I think TOM is approaching, I really need to keep better track of my cycle so I can really know. I'm struggling with some issues that are still hounding me since my mom died. I won't go into it now, it's kind of a long story and I don't want to be a downer.
I doubt I'll be online anymore tonight. After dinner I have to go pick up my oldest daughter from a friend's house and then I plan on curling up on the sofa with a blanket and a good book. Maybe I'll even sweet talk my husband into going to get Allyson so I can curl up sooner. I may watch the Olympics, tonight a girl from Maryland is skating, hoping she does well.
Take care girls and have a great evening,

Sorry, Chickies. I'm a bit too shaky to post much right now.
There was a terrible pile-up on the 401 this morning when I was on my way to my dental appointment - a multi-car and transport pile-up. A woman as read-ended by a transport, got out with her 10-month old baby, was hit by a car and the child was killed by another car. I'm OK as I was well back. My friend John was in a car further ahead of me. He is still in hospital being checked but it seems he has bruises and possible whiplash only.
The 401 was closed for ten hours but I did get to my dental appointment four hours late. The pile-up was almost a mile long!
It's definitely a comfort food night. It's a good thing there is no chocolate in this house!

Ruth~~ So glad you are OK,, Sorry for your friend and the fright you must have felt.. Take Care,

Just checked back in to read the p;osts. Thank you SO MUCH for the encouragement and the advice about nuts. I'm hungry right now!! I'm waiting until the kids are in bed and then I'll have my SF, FF pudding. I made the Marinated Flank steak from the SBD book today. It was good! I had it for dinner with steamed broccoli and summer squash.
I have had to turn down so many temptations today alone. I made my boys chocochip muffins for after school snack (they asked for them ) and then there are girl scout cookies at work and every where lately! But I have not eaten ANY! Guess I made a big mistake w/the fried rice!!
I have also made the spinach quiche recipe from the book. That is Awesome!
Demeter - Awesome about the gym!!! Good for you!
Pear - your rat is so cute!!!
We have two cats at our house - their names are Max & Erma! Part of the family.
Wheezle - Hope you are all over that fever! My kids have had it, Most recently this weekend.
I have to run - can't wait to see the figure skating.

Ruth - I'm so sorry for your bad experience  . That is so tragic, that tiny baby getting killed. What about the mother? Was she killed as well? How awful.... What a terrible thing to happen. I'm glad you are okay, though - and I hope your friend is better soon.
