Dark meat is the culprit plus whatever fillers they use.

ff wouldn't be made with dark meat would it? wouldn't it be breast meat?

According to the book ...
Beef fat free hot dogs are good on all phases
beef hot dogs, light, reduced fat, regular, beef and pork, chicken and turkey hot dogs are to be avoided.

i think it's more the nitrates and processedness than the type of meat.
