Default Knee Injury

I just injured my knee doing yoga of all things. It was Denise Austin's "salutation to the sun". The reason why I injured my knee is I was trying to keep up with her and she was going to fast.

This kind of thing is my worst nightmare. I hear so many stories of people that can't work out anymore because of knee damage. But yet I don't really have any dirt road to run on that is safe. And I love to run.

I can't beleive that with all the vigorous working out I do, my knee injury was caused by yoga!

I am sitting around frustated waitng for it to heal. How long does it take? What can I do to speed healing? And more importantly how can I prevent problems in the future? My weight loss plan is mostly made up of exercise.

I saw these knee support things on ebay

I am wondering if this will prevent problems. Do athletes ever wear knee supports?

PS
I know already about the stretching thing before exercise-hence the yoga.

Have you gone to see your Doctor? He'll be able to assess it much better than anyone on the internet...
