I never thought about putting anything on popcorn. I generally use the microwave popcorn and just eat it as it comes out. I like the Movie Theatre ones most.
At the movies, I get "butter". I know, I know, it's not *really* butter (I worked at a movie theatre in my teens -- you don't want to know what used to go on there!!!). It's not really butter, but I get it more because it's just part of the movie theatre experience.
I just recently started getting the 100-calorie snack bags of popcorn. I tried a couple of different ones and found I liked Pop Secret 100 Calorie Snack Pack best. While it doesn't have quite as much butter taste as their full calorie bag, I'll sacrifice butter for 100-calories (the full cal snack bag = 250 calories). I never thought about putting on a butter spray, though. What a nifty idea!
Does the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray have any calories?

I love Kernel Season's White Cheddar- it makes my 94% Fat Free microwave popcorn taste like cheese popcorn. With only 2 calories per 1/4 teaspoon, no fat & only 75mg sodium, it is definitely one to check out. I also have the Ranch flavor- I'm not as impressed with it on popcorn...just not my taste, but its good mixed with a little fat free sour cream to make a ranch dip. I just wish my local stores would carry more of the flavors- I want to try the Nacho one and for some strange reason, the chocolate marshmallow one looks interesting...not sure if I want it on popcorn, but I'm sure I can find something to put it on
I also love the Kernel's Seasons White Cheddar. So far, it has been my favorite. I have the Nacho flavor, but I don't care for it very much, which is strange since I normally love anything cheese flavored. - I think it would be good sprinkled on Mac & Cheese...
I've got the Kernel's Seasons Ranch, Sour Cream & Onion, Chocolate Marshmellow, and Apple Cinnamon flavors ordered and am waiting to try them. I've had the Parmesian Garlic flavor in the past and it was very good.
Someone else who believes Texas Pete belongs on everything, I like the cut of your jib Erin! I haven’t been able to find it in store here in LA, and while I have found other delicious hot sauces I always have friends bring me back a big bottle or two whenever they visit back east.
My problem is I'm too cheap to buythe Kernals on-line-lol. My local Meijers only has a few flavors, but I pay $2.69 for the White Cheddar & $1.89 for the Ranch. I keep forgeting to check to see if SuperWalMart carries it or not. I really want to try the Parmasion (sp) & Garlic and the Nacho one of these days.
Also, I haven't tried it on popcorn yet, but Watkins makes some really good dip mixes that I think would work well too. They are also low cal, low sodium & fat free- you can mix them into whatever type of sour cream, yogurt, cream cheese, etc you like for dips or spreads, or add a little extra buttermilk to make a salad dressing. I am absolutely in love with the Bacon & Cheddar, but they also have Bacon & Horseradish, Cool Curry, Crab, Cucumber & Dill, Blazin' Cajun, Bacon & Onion, Peper Ranch, Salsa & Sour Cream, Tomato & Bacon, Tomato & Horseradish, Garlic & Dill, Garden Vegetable, Bacon & Onion....I think that's all of them I happened to mention something about them in the forum I post in daily after I tried them at a Womens Expo & come to find out, dogpal, one of the members of the 300+ subforum here sells Watkins.
nothing usually...i usually eat popcorn that is already buttered b/c thats what my bf's mom likes so when we do groceries..or she does...which is once in a blue moon, it has to be that stuff. Were moving in like 2 months so then I will probably buy popcorn without butter on it and just use seasonings or eat it plain, i dont mind it plain, maybe with a dash of salt..
I just wanted to say that I finally received the cheddar lavor spray and was very disappointed. I had thought it might be good on popcorn, but in all honesty, it just tastes like a chemical, even when applied to the back of my hand.
Perhaps the other flavors are better, but I won't be trying them. I recommend avoiding the cheddar.
