Exclamation I splurged on fried chicken yesterday :\

Went to Popeye's 'cause I had a fried chicken craving like you wouldn't believe. Had 3 pieces of their crispy, crackling, *ahem* fatty chicken, that artery-busting but oh-so-buttery biscuit, and the red rice & beans (which sounds healthy but I know isn't because it tasted greasy-good). I don't think I even want to know the calorie count for that one... probably 70% of my budget (1,600)

Oh well, at least I got the craving out of my system (which I hope pays itself off by me not going ballistic over whatever the next event featuring fried chicken is)--time to get back on track!

Anyone else splurged recently?

Good for you realizing it was a craving and satisying it before it became an overtaking desire and you ate everything in sight. Yesterday I splurged making peanut butter cookies eating the equivalent of one cookie in the dough and then 2 warm from the oven. The rest are headed to the office today.

The other night, I gorged on beer (light, but still full of calories) and chinese. Sesame chicken, fried rice, and plenty of deep fried crab ramgoons. Sigh.

I agree with Liz. At least you got it out of your system and you realized what you did. Good job for getting back on track!

Well let's see. My husband's birthday was Saturday. My mom baked him a cake. I had at least 3 or 4 slices this week. I ate chips and dip that I bought for superbowl Sunday. Ooh I almost got chinese last night. Instead I bought a bag of veggies and pork chop from the grocery store and went home and cooked that. That was close! I'm trying to make up for earlier this week!

Oh but I did have chinese last week. The honey chicken combo complete with egg roll, pork fried rice, chicken and the honey to dip it in! Mmm!

Mmm you're making me hungry!!!! I want chinese. I think the vegetables with browngarlic sauce is somewhat low in calories... long as I stay away from those delicious egg rolls and crab ramgoons. I think the chicken with garlic sauce is okay, too. As long as it's portioned.

Pizza and junior caramels last night. A half a pizza. And a box of junior caramels (the box with like 2.5 servings!) Sooo good though.

Green giant makes these wonderful chinese vegetables in szhactuan (i botched the spelling) sauce, with only 150 calories in a box. I'm a chinese food addict, and these nix my craving, especially with a bit of rice.

Mmmmm, I know exactly what you're talking about! I love that stuff, it's SO good. I used to make my own schezuan stuff with some schezuan seasoning and would stir fry the vegatables, and it tasted just like the Green giant stuff. Yumm!

I even have my boyfriend hooked on them (granted he'll sit there and eat two boxes). Can you find the seasoning at the regular grocery store?

Mmm, I would eat 2 boxes given the chance, heheh. It's just soo good. Yep, we found the seasoning at the regular grocery store in the spice section. It even has the recipe on the back for the schezuan sauce (it's delicious). I can't remember the name of the brand, though, but it would still have it labelled as such on the bottle.
