Unhappy what the heck? anyone else having this problem?

o.k, for the past 7 weeks I feel as if I am losing mind! It started with a tightness/pressure in my throat. Like there is a lump or something in there and I can’t get it out. It seems to get worse as the day progresses. By the evening not only can I not eat anything solid, but not feeling hungry at all! Just before Xmas I went to a walk-in clinic and the Dr there said it may be GERD and prescribed some Prevacid for me. After taking it religiously for 2 weeks I was no better off with this tightness in my throat. Last Thurs I went to the walk in clinic AGAIN, saw the same Dr. This time he told me that it may be “Webs” in my lower esophagus. WEBS?!!! I looked it up on the net and found some interesting stuff, apparently it is common to people with obesity, type 2 and thyroid. I have lost over 85lbs, I eat my food slowly and dont eat fattening/fried or very spicy foods and my thyroid is just fine. Am I going crazy? I am getting scared and thinking it might be something more serious and dont seem to be getting too many answers. I am TOTALLY stressed out about this. I wonder if that is a link? Stress, I mean. Oh I also get sharp pains in my upper back, back of neck and right shoulder.
Anyone else out there with this problem too??
I am IR with PCOS and taking Glucophage and Meridia

my cousin had the same type of problem and she had smoething going on with her throat im sure it has some big fancy name but what it amounted to was they had to stretch her throat back out.. and she had a cyst in her throat.. nothing major but i would suggest u go to a specialist for a 2nd opinion

I would go see another dr if you can. It doesn't sound like this guy is taking it very seriously. Rather than have him "guess" what it might be, there are actual tests that can be done. X-ray, swallowing study, endoscope to name a few.

I'm not sure about your situation, but is there any way you can go to a primary care DR instead of a walk in clinic? I think they are better suited to deal with this type of thing.

My dad has a type of hernia that would make his throat sort of close up on him when he was eating sometimes. Sorry I don't know the exact kind.

It could be scarring from having GERD, acid reflux, etc. I have a co-worker whose Dad gets this and has to go in from time to time to get rid of the scarring (I think they do a laser surgery...nothing too serious). When his gets bad, he can't eat meat or anything very solid. I would definitely find another dr...either a specialist or a good MD who can run some tests and refer you if need be. This guy is definitely not taking you seriously. I hope you find some answers.
