Hope it's okay that I start this thread. I'm new and all :o

I missed my goal for January by 2.5 miles, so I'm bound and determined to make it this month. I'm shooting for 30 miles for February and I got 2.5 in yesterday.

Goal 30, Total 2.5.

Hi! I made my January goal + four miles. I have a pretty busy month coming up, and since February is also short, I'm going to set a goal of 40 miles. I didn't walk yesterday, so it will be starting from today.

Good luck to everyone this month!

Maybe I should make a goal for how many miles i walk in February. so, there are 28 days in February. I will say 35 miles this month. and I have no miles in by the 2nd day of the month. means, i will need to get busy on it tomorrow!:o

I almost DOUBLED my January goal, ending up with 55.55 miles (goal was 30)! So, I'm going for 50 this month!

I got the new 5 mile WATP DVD Tuesday in the mail, so I did 3 miles last night! Will go do more tonight after supper and sending the family off to dance and Scouts!

Congrats on nearly doubling your goal Michele! How do you like the new WATP DVD?

Yesterday I walked my first two miles of the month (did a Denise Austin walking DVD) so I have 38 to go for the month.

Michele L

I've only done the first 3 miles of the new 5 mile, but I really like it so far! I'm hoping to do all 5 miles tomorrow!

Last night, after everyone had gone to dance and Scouts, I did the 30 Minute Walk, which I ordered at the same time as the 5 mile. I like it.

Tonight I did the 2 mile Express workout, making 7 miles for the month so far!

Happy walking!

I did the entire 5 mile on Saturday, with all the boosters! I LOVED it! It's not something I can do during the week, but it's a great option for my weekends! I'm at 12 miles already this month. Not sure what I'll do today yet.

Happy walking!

I just started using the WATP DVD's. What kind of results are you guys getting with these? Do you think they are just as good as actually taking a walk?

Okay I'm setting my goal for February again at 30 miles.
So far I've walked 9 miles so that's a good start for the new month.

WATP I think they are great and just as good as a walk. I usually use my treadmill but when I want to change things around a bit and up my weight loss I use my WATP tapes.

02-06-2006, 08:36 AM
I walked 3 miles Feb1, 3 miles Feb 3 and 5 miles Feb 5, so 11 so far.

My goal for February will be 85 so 74 to go.

I missed my goal by one mile last month!!! I have to do it this time! :tread: :cheer: :tread: :goodscale

Michelle - I'm so glad you are enjoying the 5 mile dvd!
can I ask how long it took you to get it in the mail?
I ordered mine on Tuesday 1/24 and I'm really hoping it will be in the mail when I get home today.
I won't have the time very often to do the whole 5 miles, but I wanted to have it for when I do, but I also noticed there were a couple of really fast 2 mile segments which I'm looking forward to doing.
glad you got yours and that you like it.
hugs,

crk05 - I saw the new Denise Austin walking video and wondered about it.
How do you like it?
do you also happen to have some of Leslie Sansone's walking videos?
are they about the same?
just curious

Mind if I join you ladies. I have been using Leslie for the last few weeks as my main source of exercise. I would like to walk 60 miles this month. So far I have walking 15 miles. This morning I used Leslies 5 mile walk and I really liked it. I do wish though that the whole dvd was the fast paced miles.

good morning gang!

I got up at 5:00 am AGAIN and did 3 MILES this morning :carrot:

I got Leslie Sansone's 5 Mile dvd in the mail yesterday. I love it! It has 2 fast miles in it - one is a 10 minute mile and the other is a 12 minute mile, then there are 3 other 1 mile segments that are done with hand weights in 1, or the walk belt in another or the stetchy band in another. Of course, you could use hand weights in all of those segments and just do the moves with hand weights.

But the dvd is set where you have lots of options on how you want to do your workout, I mean besides doing the whole 5 miles. This morning I picked the 2 fast 1 mile segments followed by the 1 mile hand weight segment. So I got 3 miles done in 38 minutes. woooohooooo

You can also set the dvd to do it like normal with Leslie instructing with the music in the background, or you can set it for the music only and you cannot hear what she is saying. Some people like to do it that way - but I actually like Leslie's chattyness and encouragment at 5 am in the morning.

Hope everybody has a blessed day!

hugs,
Cathy

Hi everyone. I didn't get my miles in for January. I'm going to set a goal for 10 again this month. I hope that I can at least meet that. I've been lazy and depressed, gained all my weight back in 6 months from not working out. But I'm determined to make this year different. Sounds like everyone is getting a good start to the new year. Keep up the good work. :bravo:

I was reading your posts, and I would like to tell you that I have had phenomenal success with the WATP series. I lost the first 45 or so pounds using WATP for abs (3 Mile) and the 4 Mile express. I have never been a big proponent of home fitness videos, but I would definitely recommend WATP because they do work. One of the things that I found surprising about using WATP was the amount of fat that I took off my midsection. If you consistently use these videos you will find that you will tone up, have more energy, and sleep restfully at night.Consistency is the key with WATP. Good luck to all that are using them, I have just started a new workout series called Turbo Jam and I LOVE it!

Sincerely,

Sub

Hi everyone ..can I join your group?...I've been doing the WATP for about 2 weeks I love it...I can feel it working out my hip area...I really like the walk & jog dvd it's 30 min but not sure how many miles..I dont think she says how far and there is no tracker on it...I also like her fat burning walk dvd..It has a strength and toning workout at the end..

Welcome Donna- I do believe she mentions that the walk and jog is 2 miles ( I might be thinking of walk and kick though.)

Yesterday I did 2 mile fat burning walk out( this is an older one and I like the different moves in it). I am still deciding what to do today.

How do these video's work?? I couldnt imagine walking 5 miles in my living room....obviously you can...but I was just wondering how they work...and for someone weighing 230 pounds....what would be a good video to start with....went to the g.i. doctor yesterday and found out that my good choles. is 40 and should be over 60....and the bad choles. is 125 and should be under 100....not to mention im so depressed and tired of being fat....my clothes are so uncomfortable....any input would be great...thanks.....:(

It's mostly walking in place. She varies the routine from time to time with sidesteps, low kicks, different arm movements, etc., but never anything complicated or dancey. The whole routine is designed so you can do it in a small space.

Hi! I was just cruising around the website and found you all. I love the WATP tapes. Seems like some of you are really liking the 5 mile. I want to get that. I was wondering if anyone here has the Walkblaster? It looks like it would be a fun workout as well. I would like to join you all in March for walking if that's okay. Oh, my name is Cathy and I mostly post on the Jorge Cruise board. Look forward to talking with you all more. :)

the 5 mile dvd is chapter with three different options:
1. the whole 5 mile workout
2. fast miles with weights= 3 miles
3. 3 miles with stretchy.

I didn't do any walking today instead I did an hour of interval workouts

Good morning Pkl63,

WAPT stands for Walking Away the Pounds by Leslie Sansone. You can find her dvd's at Target, Walmart, ebay and various places on-line. Leslie has various dvd's based on walking and a few other moves. You can also find them at lesliesansone.com.

She has a Walking Away the Pounds, 1 mile, 2 mile, 3mile,4 mile and now the lastest 5 mile. She has Walk & Jog, Walk & kick, Yoga, and numerous others just to name a few.

I love her Workout Dvd's.
