Has anyone ever heard of this formula "weight x 15 = Maintenance Calories - 500 = Calories one can consume and still lose weight?" Does anyone follow this formula? I read this on other boards. If I multiply my weight 248 x 15 = 3720 - 500 = 3220. I can consume 3220 and still lose weight???

 I've heard it too! I find it crackers for me and not sure if it'd work... but that's the theory!
I don't follow the formula but I bear it in mind and yes you probably could consume 3220 and lose weight, since you have more to lose that I do.

You have to experiment. My maintainance calories are currently ~15*Bodyweight, but that is going to be highly individual.
For most women it tend to be more like weight times 13 for maintenance. The rule of thumb is 15 time weight for men. But it really is only a rule of thumb...it applies to the general popluation. Are you the general population?
You need to find what works for YOU.
