I'm Cesarina. I'm 24 years old and about 40lbs overweight. I just ordered NutriSystem and it should arrive this week so I can start February 1 with my sister. I hope I can lose 30lbs by April. :carrot: Wish me luck!

01-24-2006, 12:25 PM
I started NS on 1/2 and I am LOVING it!!!

The food is good, and I love not having to cook!

You and your sister are going to do great! :)

Thank you, I wish you the best of luck as well, so its been a month for you almost!! any progress?

01-28-2006, 12:58 AM
As of today, I've lost 17 pounds on NS!

I do have a lot to lose, so I know that's not typical.

I have also been exercising six days a week doing water aerobics and walking on my treadmill.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

I also can give you a link to an excellent NS board that has really helped me if you're interested.

Hello All,
I've been a member of 3FC's for a long time, but I haven't been able to keep myself on track with any diet! I had been doing very well, exercising at a gym 5 or 6 days a week and was down to 165lbs., but then I broke my ankle in Oct. '04 and ever since then I've been off my fitness wagon. Now I'm back up to 209lbs. and very disgusted with myself. I ordered my first Nutrisystem plan this morning, and I'm hoping that this time I'll stick to it! I hope to stick to this plan and be on these boards as much as possible. I know that there are strength in numbers! Wish me luck and courage!

Nutri system seemly like a great choice. But it is way to much calories for me. Good Luck!

01-28-2006, 10:29 AM

Congratulations on making the first step! I really like NS- I just cannot say enough about how easy it is, with all your meals already prepared. This has been the easiest diet that I have ever been on.

Too many calories? The average daily diet is between 1300-1400. I know of a few women who have their calories down to 1100-1200. It all goes by which meals you order, and what you add to the diet as far as extra protein, veggies and fruit.

I got my NS last week and I started today, I had a yummy breakfast, scarmbled eggs with peppers and mushroom, 1 green apple, 1 glass of milk.

I thought it taste really good, I hope my lunch and dinner are just as great.

01-30-2006, 02:30 PM
cesinesss ~ that's great! Can't wait to get mine!

Rizeninme ~ thanks for the kind words. I hope this time I can make it to my goal.

I became interested in NS after looking at their website, and seeing their commercials. The convenience factor is a big plus for me. The only problem that I could run into is feeding my hubby. Although he is dieting too, he won't be on the NS (darn his willpower!) He'll probably make his goal before me, but hey, as long as we both get there. Both our goals are about 60lbs. We have both developed borderline high blood pressure, and are awaiting blood work from our doctor to see how our cholesterol etc. Anyway, see ya'll later!

You can get your husband on WW and just buy the book and count points, its really good and he won't starve....

Good luck :carrot:

01-30-2006, 09:16 PM

How about buying hubby some TV dinners- that way you don't have to cook at night- that's always the hardest thing for me while dieting. My husband is deployed now, but when he comes home, that's my plan. The rest of the day is never a problem for us because we eat different things anyway, only dinner. And it is SO hard to cook two things, and not be tempted to eat the things you made that are not on your diet.

Lean Cuisine makes some really good dinners- he could always add a salad to fill him up more.

Cesiness- Congratulations on your first day! I personally haven't tried the eggs because it just doesn't sound good to me- I LOVE the granola- that's my favorite breakfast. How was the rest of your day???

01-31-2006, 02:51 PM
Still no NS delivery, maybe today when I get home, I hope...

Rizeninme ~ Thanks for the idea. I'll have to see if he'll go along with that. :) Since he is trying to lose too, he may go for it.

I've been feeling just awful the last couple of days, bloated feeling :barf: . I can't wait to start NS. Also, I've had every intention of going home and working out to a new exercise program I bought, but I end up getting side tracked by fixing dinner, etc. then falling asleep on the couch  I have a couple of health issues, acid reflux, and sleep apnea. Both will probably subside once I lose the weight. But I'm tired all the time from the apnea. So its a vicious circle, I'm too tired to exercise because of the apnea, and I've got the apnea because I'm overweight! I've been on Prilosec for almost 5 years, and I've heard that it could cause people to gain weight, but that hasn't been proven (any port in a storm ;) ) Anyway hope everyone is have a good day.

:D My order arrived!! Wow, that's a lot of stuff! I'll be starting tomorrow, no use waiting till Monday. :carrot:

02-02-2006, 11:34 AM

How was your first day???

02-02-2006, 11:56 AM
Rizeninme, thanks for asking, but haven't started yet. :( My husband convinced me to get everything organized, purchase my other foods, and start on Monday. I'll be going to the grocery store this weekend to get my other staple foods. I sorted all the foods out by meals, and I think I may divide up a weeks worth so I can just grab a pack and go each day. I was chomping at the perverbial bit to start, but my husband told me that I should be more mentally prepared, and he is usually right about things. So, Monday it is. :dizzy:

I'm getting ready to do one week of NS to write a review for the site. After my week of NS, I'll do a week of Jenny Craig, and a few other programs, then we'll write up a comparison type article. Which program tastes best, is more filling, compare costs, etc. My box came today, so I'm starting tomorrow (Friday). I chose my own meals, instead of choosing a package, since I'm a very picky eater, lol. I don't eat beef, and I prefer not to eat chicken, but I felt that I had to give some of the chicken dishes a try, to give a wider review. I'll be anxious to hear how you are all doing, too :)

02-03-2006, 06:15 PM
I am a picky eater too, and I have not been overly impressed by the taste of the food, but there are some things that I really like, and I am sticking to them. Overall, I feel neutral about the food- I don't LOVE it, but I don't hate it either.

I just finished my first month, and I lost 19 pounds, so I was very pleased. I do have a lot to lose, so I know that is not typical, and I have also been exercising 6x a week doing water aerobics and walking.

I'm interested in the results of your food study though- I've never read reviews based on taste for all the diets. That will be cool.

I can't say that I'm a happy camper so far. Some of the snacks are good, and the breakfast foods aren't bad. But all of the entrees leave a lot to be desired. I couldn't even eat the tuna casserole. I tried, but each bite got worse, and I gave up. I kid you not, even my dog wouldn't eat it.

02-05-2006, 11:46 PM
Hello this is the end of my first week on NS and I've lost 2 pounds with no workout, I will start working out tomorrow so that I can lose 5 pounds a week, I wanted to see how much weight I can lose on the food alone and its not bad for a first week.... Today was my day off...About the food, its good, I have a few favorites so far of what I've tried this week

Breakfast= Blueberry muffins, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and the cereals..
Lunch= Chicken salad w/ toast, beef stroganoff, fettucini alfredo,
Dinner= orange beef with noodles, pizza, lasagna, and the tacos

All those taste great to me.. and Desserts are really good too..

Good luck:carrot:

Hello All,
Started the NS program this morning!:carrot: Just had the Mini Frosted Shredded Wheat, 4oz. of Soy milk and 4oz. of lite applesauce. So far so good! Having Pasta Parmesean for lunch. I'll post this evening to let everyone know how my day went. Oh yeah, drinking a lot of water, going to the ladies room every 10 minutes it seems!

Suzanne- LOL! I couldn't get the Tuna Casserole down either! (don't have a dog) That and the Chicken and Pasta in Cacciatore Sauce were the two that I could just not force myself to finish. But, I did try almost every entree (lunch and dinner) my first month, and out of everything, those were the only two I couldn't finish.

Rose of Sharon- Congratulations on your first Day!

Ceciness- I don't think losing 5 pounds a week is either realistic or healthy. I am averaging 2 pounds a week, except for my first two weeks, where I lost more. I don't mean to be negative, but I just don't want you to get discouraged and give up if you don't see the scale moving quick enough. I had 2 weeks where I only lost 1 pound, and that's with exercising 6x a week, and following the diet 100%- no cheating or days off. Make sure you take your measurements, because those weeks where I only lost a pound, I still saw a decrease in inches, so that was helpful to keep me motivated.

02-06-2006, 07:38 PM

Today I started my new life! Wish me courage and luck!

Breakfast: (Mini Shredded Wheat) w/ Soy milk was pretty good
Lunch: (Parmasean Past w/ Broccoli) Okay, but a little bland
Dinner: Pot Roast, Potatoes and Vegetables. Good, but very small :(
Dessert: Caramel corn

Total = 1207

Obviously the food isn't like eating my own cooking, but not too bad. I was pretty hungry by the time I sat down for dinner, (just finished) I think that it will get better over time after my stomach shrinks a bit. I really pulled out all the stops on my last hurrah weekend before starting, (nachos, tacos, went out for seafood) I'm curious about the Tuna Casserole now, to see if it is as bad as you guys say (I have 2 dogs :dizzy:) I worked out for about 20 minutes trying to learn a new Aerobics DvD I bought, gotta start somewhere!

 My Son came home this afternoon and made large bowl of popcorn! Yum! Hard to resist, but I did!

Hope all is well with everyone! Keep up the good work!

02-07-2006, 01:52 PM

Congratulations on your first day!

Are you adding in snacks and extra veggies and fruit? I know for myself, I eat everything they say I should, and I am never hungry. I do try to eat every 3 hours though, and that really helps. But sometimes I can't even finish all my dinner because I get too full!

02-07-2006, 02:09 PM
Hey ya'll...
I'm Cesarina's sister and I'm doing the program with her. Yesterday I weighed myself and have lost 3lbs since beginning the program on Jan.30th:) We did the first week without any exercise but I started exercising this week. Good job Sharon on resisting the popcorn:P I've had lots of temptations but I have not fallen...and I plan on keeping it that way:) My favorite food so far has been the LASAGNA:) I love pasta,so that's a no-brainer.I will be ordering more of it next time;) YUM! Anyway, keep up the good work ladies!:carrot:

If anyone is interested, there is a NS old-timer that has several recipes that help to 'doctor' up some of the not-so-edible entrees.

How is everyone doing???

02-10-2006, 01:13 PM
Hello All!
Doing pretty well on day 5! I'm keeping track of all my food intake on the Nutrisystem website, as well as using the log to rate how I like each meal. That way I can edit my next order :D I don't know how much I've lost if any, but I will weigh in this Sunday. I'm finding that I really, really want a snack when I get home from work, which is about 4PM. I've been trying to keep my meals on a schedule, Breakfast: 7:30, Lunch: 11:30, Snack: 2:30, Dinner: 6:00P, & Dessert: 8:00P.

So far I havent' had a real issue with any of the food, I do like the cereals. But the eggs w/cheese smelled funky, but tasted okay.:?: I haven't been exercising, so it will be interesting to see if I've lost anything. Next week, that goes into the schdule too! :ebike: I hope everyone else is doing well, keep up the good work!

Hello All:
Just checking in to give you my first weeks results. I know this is mostly water weight but it does make me happy. Drum roll please...

I've lost 6lbs. my first week! :carrot:

I even cheated a little, and did't even exercise! So I am really excited. Found out a guy in my office is on NS too, and he and his wife have been on it a month. He's lost 19lbs., but he's a guy, :dizzy:, they tend to lose it faster. Next week I'll be adding at least a 30min. workout a day. :ebike:

Well keep up the good work everybody!

Been on NS 7months. I only order the foods I really like. Cheaper to buy oatmeal in supermarket so I dont pick those when I order NS. I think there is something in the food to make you poop a lot. This is good. The muffins taste better with applesauce. So buy some. The beef stroganoff is really good. Pasta dinners are good too. But the key is to get to the point where you order only the meals you like. The apple cinamon chips are really good. The deserts are YUM. OK now the big question how much did I lose? approx 2lbs a week but I have not been serious. I feel great. Got a lot to lose. Starting this month gonna stick with it to the letter. Past months I've been pigging out. Make sure you Drink lots of water, Exercise, and Grapefruit juice in the A.M. is a serious fat burner. You can go online and delay the next shipment if you have lots left over. I think This is a rather expensive diet plan so choose your meals wisely.

Starting last week I'm taking phentermine 37.5mg everyday. I will let you know how that goes. Please don't dive into that before consulting a doctor. This diet suppresant pill is not for everyone. Most doctors wont even prescribe it because most overweight people have other health problems that restrict them from being able to take this pill. Trust Me. This pill is no joke. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consult with your doctor first.

I am trying Phentermine and NS for 2-weeks. I'm age 52, premenopausal with a lot of weight around the middle. I'm trying this to jump start my metabolism and hoping I can take it from there without the phentermine. I will come back and report the results in 12 days.
