Hi everyone,

Myra, great loss!!! You're doing a wonderful job.

Essie, good for you, OP all the way!

While some days can be challenging, I feel good. Still in search of a string of good solid OP days. Time to buckle down. Myra, Essie and Terri, you're being a great example for me, thanks!

We're enjoying absolutely gorgeous weather here this week. Sunny and low 80's. The boys arrived here yesterday, they'll be here till Saturday. My niece and her tribe will be here tomorrow night for a sleep over. She lives almost an hour away, we try to do this a couple times a year, and I always look forward to it.

Hope everyone is well......Patti, Dianne, Joyce

Hello my buddies

I'm back and glad to be home. Missed you guys - very hard to be away from a computer and cyber buddies for more than a few days,

Florida was great! The home we rented was supposed to have 5 bedrooms, but actually had 6, which really came in handy, since at one point 4 grandchildren wanted to sleep over even though they had their own place. In addition, my son and his wife came over for a couple of days - they live in Pembroke Pines. The house was absolutely gorgeous! A few times we all got together and there were 10 adults and 12 children in one house - mine!!! :dizzy: So, Terri and Jen, I DO know what its like to treasure peace and quiet (now that we are back home). But we loved having them even though it was a madhouse at times :s:

We were supposed to come back Tuesday night, but the flight we were taking was stuck on the runway in NY:mad: and wasn't expected to come in to Florida until about 4 hrs. later, which means we would have gotten back to NY about 2 or 3 in the morning so the airline gave us a "distressed" passenger voucher for a hotel - we had a suite and only paid $55 for the five of us. We were then put on the 7:00 a.m. flight yesterday and it was fine, nice and quiet, practically empty.

So, I'm glad to be home and back with you guys. I've tried reading the posts, but sooooooooooo many, lol. Anyway, congrats to everyone who lost (Myra, Joyce, I believe) and to those back on program (Terri, Essie and Jen) and hello to everyone else. And Essie - us cooking and Jen and Terri washing and drying sounds good to me! And Myra, you would love our platanos, lol. But I want to be in the "walking" club too, cause after our spanish cooking, we would all need to walk:D

Well, guys hubby and I are still on vacation (til next Tuesday) so we are gonna go out to the city and just "chill" as my kids say. Have a great day everyone! Talk to you later.

07-12-2001, 02:04 PM
WOW!!!! #63 already!!!!!
ENJOY!!!!! That sounds like a lot of fun. I wish I could get with family easier than I can. You are very lucky. Kiss those grandbabies for me.
You are also an inspiration just by hearing about your life. What a family. Everything is secondary to family. You are doing great.

WELCOME HOME Dianne!! I am so glad you had fun. That sounded like a loud and great time.
I can't imagine (never having been to N.Y.) chilling in the city. I hope you have fun.
That foods sound so wonderful. Maybe when our lives aren't so busy we could all get together and meet and visit and have one of these dinners. When that would be I do not know.

I have decided to do WW on-line. I am so motivated right now that I want the 24/7 fix. I stopped the meetings for now until they have their ww center open. We are supposed to get a new one. I do not like our leader at the church. The facilities are horrible. They keep switching us from place to place in the church and it is overcrowded to the point where we have to sit on the floors at times. I am not about to sit in a chair while an older lady or physically challenged lady has to try to stand or attempt to take the floor. I always give up my seat. I always pray the older ones leave when we are in this certain room, but they don't. :dizzy: So I will see how it goes.

Hi to Essie, Myra.

Patti and Joyce- Come out, come out, wherever you are. :D

8 days op and counting.

07-12-2001, 08:49 PM
I wish they had a center near me. The closest one is over a half an hour away. I am spoiled now with the meeting right down the road, but even where I used to go was no more than a 15 minute ride. But there is so little choice with these one meeting places. Either you rework your whole schedule around WW or you miss meetings. What I would give for the flexibility that a center brings with it.

07-12-2001, 10:43 PM
I know. I hope we get it soon.
I love all the different hours they provide. Huntsville has one and they have meetings twice a week with a number of different leaders.
Terri

07-13-2001, 08:52 AM

How are all my buddies this lovely Friday? The weather is perfect!

Welcome home Dianne. Sounds like a really nice place you rented. I talk to my son everyday & when I call him I ask him
" What's up?" His answer is "just chillin". Glad you're back ;)

Myra, great loss!! I'm happy for you. I know there was a while there you were struggling a bit. You're motivating me - BIG TIME!

Jen, ahhhhhh grandbabies - can't wait! Have a great time with your niece & her tribe:lol:

Terri, I'm starting the Wendies Plan today. I was just over at her site & there have been quite a bit of successes.

Joyce, where are you?

Have a great day everybody:wave:

07-13-2001, 09:37 AM
A while? Past few years! These were the most stressful years of my life and stress plus WW does not always add up to success. But now I am working to get that stress under control and so far it has been working. I only hope I can keep it up. Its been too long since I've been trying to get back to goal.

07-13-2001, 03:13 PM
I know. It is a lifelong struggle. I finally stopped saying "When will this end?" I know the answer now. NEVER! I am the only one that can control it. I have finally learned that I need to be the boss not that blasted food.

Good luck Essie. You can do this.

Well, I went on my "date" with Brandon. He invited his daddy. How could Bruce refuse? Here is how he asked him:
"Daddy, mommy and I are going on a date to Applebees for lunch do you want to catch up with us?" Bruce put his head down and smiled and said "I will clear my calendar for you and mommy."
So I had lunch with 2 of my guys. It was so nice.
I had the house salad with light dressing and the steamed vegies and a piece of garlic bread. Did pretty good. I went on dottis site and printed out Applebees points and an applebee hamburger alone has 31 points. :dizzy:

Have a great Friday the 13th.
9 days op and counting.

07-14-2001, 12:36 AM
Terri - Oh my God, 31 points for a hamburger!!!!!!!! Glad I don't eat hamburgers, :o Sounds like your date with your men was lots of fun, soooooooo cute!

Hubby and I "chilled" in the city today, it was fun. I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday, so we're trying to pack things in for a the next couple of days!

Jen - How are you? haven't "seen" you since I've come back. Those grandchildren must be keeping you real busy. I'm glad you are enjoying them.

Hi Essie, Myra, Joyce, Patti/Zoe (how are you girl?) and Anita (is Anita ever coming back???????? :?: Hope you all have a great weekend.

07-14-2001, 08:48 AM
Dianne, enjoy your days off. They go by very fast.

Terri, imagine people that really don't care how they eat & eat A COUPLE of burgers!! What a nice day you had, spending it with Brandon & Bruce. You do so well when you eat out.

Now that Dianne mentioned Zoe & Anita. Where are you guys? Hope everything is okay.

Myra, sounds like you are back on the right track. It's hard but
we can do it. Thank God for on-line support.

Hi Jen, Zoe & Anita:wave:

Be back later!

07-14-2001, 01:48 PM
Thanks Dianne and Essie. It was so nice. Now I have to have a "date" with Bradley. Can't leave him out. He is my precious 8 yr. old. He wants to go to the Italian Buffet. I love this 1 on 1 stuff. Britts and I are always 1 on 1 so she doesn't get a "date".
I know I will go eat with her by ourselves by the end of the weekend.
I am so glad you and hubby had a great time in the city.

I lost 4.5 this week. Exactly what I gained on vacation. So onward and downward. YEAH!!!

I hope Anita, Joyce and Patti are ok.

9 days op and counting.

07-14-2001, 01:54 PM
Wow Terri! I don't know how you do it, but keep it up! You will be at goal in no time.

07-14-2001, 02:01 PM
Thanks Myra. I am really not sure but I hope I keep it up.
Health is a big factor this time. My age helps too.

I forgot to mention that Bruce lost 4# and Brandon lost 4.5#. He wants to lose his tummy. He needs to lose about 10#. He was so proud.
Terri :D

07-14-2001, 06:31 PM
Terri, way to go, girl;) 4.5 is awesome! How many kids do you have? I forgot:rolleyes:

Myra, you're not doing so bad. How's the stress factor? Better?

I just got home from the vet. Susie's annual exam. I had to go by myself cause Pete had to work overtime. I had a 3:45 appt. They called at 2:00 to ask me if I could come in earlier. I got there at 2:45. The waiting room was packed. I didn't get out till 4:30:mad: The receptionist apologized & thanked me for my patience. If she only knew what I was thinking! Anyway, don't have to worry about it till next year.

Have a great evening:wave:

07-14-2001, 06:50 PM
Yes, I've finally been doing better the last few weeks after struggling for the past few years. Hopefully I can keep this up.

07-14-2001, 11:57 PM
Terri - I've decided the only way to lose weight is to go to your house and eat the way you and your family eat  Congrats on all "you's" guys losses. That's terrific.

Essie - Sorry about your trip to the Vet from **** At least you don't have to go for another year.

Myra - congrats on doing so well lately, wish I were you :D

Jen - Where are you buddy, these babies got you :dizzy:

Well, just wanted to drop in to say hi. Tomorrow will be a busy day running around getting Alana's last minute supplies, etc. for her trip to Italy. She leaves on Monday afternoon. Lucky girl :smug: Then its back to work for me and Willie on Tuesday:(
Oh well, all good things must come to an end! We'll be alone for 2 1/2 weeks with Alana gone, gee.......we should have taken our vacation then, :D

Hope you guys enjoy your sunday.

07-15-2001, 12:23 AM
I have 3 kids. Brittany(15) wants to lose about 15 and Brandon (10) wants to lose about 12 total and Bradley (8) is the thin one. He eats like us too but a little more.
I am so glad you got the vet visit over. That is a pain when you have to wait like that. Susie is lucky to have a sweet mama like you.

Thanks Dianne. Brittany weighed after I posted last and she wanted to report a 2# loss. So our household lost 15# this week.
This is hard but worth it.
Tell Alana to be careful! I know she will have a great time. She is so lucky! I am so sorry you have to go back to work. You still have the wonderful memories and I am glad "you's" are safe.

Have a great Sunday!

07-15-2001, 08:35 AM
Hello Ladies,

This morning when I first opened my eyes I thought it was Friday!! What a bummer:( We're not going to church today & I kind of feel guilty but I hardly spent any time with Pete yesterday so we're just going to "chill". He woke up with a stomach ache.

Terri, I was right then. I thought you had 3 children. My memory is not so bad after all. I'm sure they're sweet kids. Tell Brittany I'm sending her a high five for her 2 lb. loss. I'm so proud of all of you. I think it's so cute when I see families on WW.

Dianne, that's exactly what it was a trip from **** On top of it all the waiting was small & they had all these humungous(sp) dogs!! My Susie was a nervous wreck!!
Alana must be very excited. An attorney I work with just got back from Italy. She said people weren't very nice but then again she has an attitude problem. One of my sisters is like that. You take one look at her face & you know she's going to be difficult. I get so embarrassed when I go shopping with her. Gives all the cashiers a hard time. Alana is going to have a great time. I'm sure you'll find lots to do with hubby.

Hi Myra, Jen, Zoe & Joyce.

Be back later:wave:

07-15-2001, 11:56 PM
Hi everyone,

Boy, I'm wiped out after the weekend. :) The house is quiet now and relatively neat!

Terri, You go girl! Great loss! :D And it's so cool that you're setting that example for the kids...it's working.

Dianne, glad you had a good trip, it sounded so nice. I'll bet Alana will love Italy; that's my dream trip.

Essie, how many sisters do you have? It's something I'm sure you must have mentioned, but I don't recall.

Myra, glad to hear you're feeling more confident about your progress. You can do this!

This weekend was not so program-friendly. But thank goodness tomorrow's Monday...a fresh start.

07-16-2001, 02:10 AM
Great memory Essie. Thanks so much for the compliment. We are calculating like mad over here.
Hope Pete is ok now. How is his tummy?

I am so glad you had a great and busy weekend. Here's to a great week. :Holding up a water/wine glass: Whichever you prefer.

Hi Myra, Dianne, Patti, and Joyce.

Terri
Have a great week.

07-16-2001, 06:18 PM
HI everyone! Well it is definately summer in Texas it's been hitting 100 here all week. Sorry I have not been around much. I've missed everyone & the encouragement I get here.

I've been stressing out! :dizzy: This year has just been terrible for things breaking. We live in the country and have a water well. Our pump went out last week. NO WATER for a half day before the well servicemen could come. $700.00 to replace. :( I think I told yall earlier that before that it was the microwave, weedeater, coffeemaker, 27" TV......... When the well went out I just started crying out of frustration. This has all happened since January this year.

I've also been stress eating this past week and dread my WI tomorrow. I had finally got almost to my first 10 pounds now I'm going to be set back again. I've been op the last two days. In fact I've eaten below my minimum to make up for earlier in the week for some damage control :( Lots of garden veggie soup.

Terri - 15# household total! Woooohoooo...that is great! :spin:
Let me know what you think of WW on line (you are talking about e-tools?)..

Essie - I really envy your great weather.

Diane - I look forward to hearing how Alana likes Italy. I would love to go to Europe someday. I would have to drug & drag my dh though. He hates flying.

Hope everyone has a great week! Try to stay cool!

07-16-2001, 08:21 PM
Joyce, great hearing from you. I really feel bad for you :( $700:eek: At least you haven't given up. You'll be alright ;) For some reason, I have a really hard time with soup in the summer. I went a little off today. I don't even have a reason other than I just felt like it.

Terri, Pete is okay. Thanks for asking. I went to the Wendie's website & she said if your high point day falls on a weekend then you should start Day 1 on Wednesday. My high point day is Sunday so I guess that's what I'm going to do. I'm just trying it for 1 week.

Jen, I have 2 sisters. The oldest is 58 yrs. old & the one that gives us all the problems is 52 yrs.old & I'm the youngest 47:D My brother is the youngest of all, 40 yrs old. I still call him my baby brother. How's your day going?

Hi Dianne, Myra & Zoe:wave:

Till tomorrow,

07-16-2001, 09:44 PM
Great to hear from you. I am so sorry about your bad luck. It seems to happen in bulk like that. We are here for you to vent. We'll listen. Promise. Good luck at weigh-in, it might not be as bad as you think.
I do e-tools but as soon as the subscription ends I might go to WW on-line. That is ww w/o the meetings. e-tools is with the meetings. I have a hard time getting to my meetings with 1 boy in football and 2 kids in soccer so I will go to on-line in Sept.
I love e-tools. It really helps when I need it. The meetings are only 1 hour a week. this is 24/7. But I only go to the meetings 1 week/month because I am lifetime. If I went every week I wouldn't be able to get e-tools. Too much money. I am paying $11.00 a month for the meeting and $9/month for e-tools.

Good luck with Wendy's plan. Have fun with your high day.

07-17-2001, 02:22 PM
Good Tuesday everyone..

I'm on my way out to do my weekly shopping run. Thought I'd stop in and say hello.

Terri - WOW! I did not know they even had a WW on line. I live in a rural area and may decide to do that later on. The cost is the same as the meetings it appears. Do they give you any dicounts or specials on line like normal meetings? How do you weigh in?

I got on the scale this morning. It looks like I stayed the same. So maybe I'll luck out and not gain this week. I hope so.

Essie - I usually don't like soup in the summer either, especially here in Texas. It was either that or salad and I don't like FF salad dressing. I have days like you where I just go off points and then look back and realize I just wanted to.. I think sometimes we need a little break as long as we can get back OP.

Any suggestions on any 0-3 pt meals are available that are filling that you can eat all day to get back in control or do damage control from a day of eating too many points? I could only think of the garden veggie soup, salad or veggies. :?:

This week ought to be better. I am determined to get this first 10 pounds off. I have a doctors appointment the end of August and I want to be able to show him a really good loss. He is always getting after me about my weight. It will feel good to show him I am finally doing something about it. :D

Well I've got to go to town. I'll check in and let everyone know how WI goes.

Have a great day. A big hello to everyone else, hope all are doing well.

07-17-2001, 02:42 PM
It is actually cheaper than meetings because it is like $14 a month. Once the sign up fees are done. It is a great alternative if you can't go to meetings. Gotta run I will read the whole previous thread later. I only read a snippet.
Off to the pool.

07-17-2001, 07:24 PM

Joyce, sometimes I buy WW frozen dinners & some are 4 pts. If you eat it with a salad, it's pretty filling. Have you ever tried Wishbone Just 2 Good salad dressing? It is so good & it only has 2 grams of fat for 2 tablespoons. I like the deluxe french. I don't buy ff anymore. Good luck on your WI.

Terri, I hope you enjoyed your day. I almost called in sick this morning. I was so tempted to stay home. By the afternoon I got this major headache. I took 2 motrins & it did nothing. No one had Advil. Advil always help. I still have it slightly. I hardly ever get headaches but when I do I get them pretty bad. I can't blame it on stress cause today was pretty quiet at work.

Gotta tell you guys, I haven't exercised since Sat. :( I better do something about it & quick. Forget about today. Can't with this headache.

Well, let me go lurk.

Have a great evening.

Hi Jen, Dianne, Myra & Zoe

Zoe, drop in & say:wave:

07-17-2001, 11:05 PM
I am listening to the live feed to Big Brother 2. It is something else. Bruce got it for me.

It is good to see the scale not go up though huh Joyce?
Good luck this week. You will do it! Hope you had a good time shopping.
The taco soup recipe is good. It used to be 1 pt. a cup before it was switched to winning points and now it is 3 points a cup. It is still filling and good.

I am so sorry about your headache. I had advils, wish I could have helped. I can feel the headache leaving when I take those.

I went to the pool and I swear my legs are hurting. I did frog legs 3 different times for 15 minutes each time. Talk about exhausting.

Have a good night everyone!
12 days OP and counting

07-18-2001, 11:09 AM
Hi girls

Last night we went to see the Neville Brothers perform at an outdoor concert theatre; don't know if any of you are familiar with them, but they are awesome, my favorite performers. It was a beautiful evening, we had a great time.

I got a big surprise from Joe.....he bought a pool! :D I've been wanting one for quite a while. Now I've been dealing with the village (permit), the electric company (have to have overhead power line relocated), have been digging up a flowerbed that we have to move, .....but we should be enjoying it in a couple of weeks. I can't wait! :)

Terri, 12 days OP! you're doing it!

Joyce, it was great to hear from you. Wow, you've had hot weather! I'm in agreement with Essie...the WW SmartOnes are decent lunches, supplemented w/salad. I don't use ff dressings either. I'd rather use 2 points on dressing and be satisfied.

Today was weigh in....maintained.......don't even "deserve" that. You know the feeling? I know I didn't work hard enough to have a loss, and am lucky that I didn't gain. My SIL told me she's rejoining WW, that she's been out of control. I know exactly how she feels.

talk to you all later,

07-18-2001, 03:06 PM
Hi everyone!

Well WI was not bad last night. I actually lost .4 not alot but at least is was not a gain like I thought.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I do get the smart ones sometimes.

Jen - The Neville Bro. are good. I have a tape of Aaron Neville. I hear ya about the not deserving thing. I lost .4 and don't know how I did it! The pool sounds wonderful.

Terri - Where did you get the Taco soup recipe? I have not seen that one.

Essie - I have tried the Just Too Good by Kraft they are pretty good. Its just something about the taste so I still use regular and water it down a little or add salsa to it which is pretty good.

Well I've got to run have a great day everyone.

07-18-2001, 05:03 PM
WOW! That is great, a pool! We are going to wait probably another year for one. We had to leave my pool in Fl. when we moved. I wanted to take it with me but Bruce wouldn't let me. Enjoy! I think I know who the neville Bros. are. What songs did they do? Glad you had a good time.
Thanks for the compliment. Congrats on the maintain.

Here is my recipe but there are many in the recipe threads (under soups and stews) on 3FC.
Those are fun to explore.

Put in a pot:
spray with pam
3 cloves of garlic
diced onion
1 can Black Beans - undrained
1 can Kidney Beans -undrained
1 can pinto beans -undrained
1 can white beans -undrained
1 can Diced Tomatoes -undrained
add 1/2 - 1 packet of taco seasoning - according to your tastes.
add 1 packet of ranch dry mix

1 point a cup with ww 123
3 points a cup with ww winning points

I eat it with baked tostitoes sometimes. very filling but it can do things to your gastro area if you know what I mean. If you are sensitive to beans watch out.

Watch the sodium in frozen dinners. They can be deadly to the weight loss. We were discussing that in our groups the other day. Canned soup can be a pain too with the sodium.

Hi everybody!

07-19-2001, 12:19 AM
See y'all on #64. WOW!!!
