Food Talk And Fabulous Finds - Who was it talking about fat-free feta?

I can't remember which thread we were in, but somebody mentioned fat-free feta, the brand name was President. I finally found it! Yesterday at Kroger in the deli area. Because I love putting feta cheese on my salads.

I tasted it. It's not bad. Not as good as the full-fat version, of course, but I think I can get used to the taste. It just doesn't have that 'pungent' flavor I love that the other fetas have.

Anyway, thanks for telling us about that because I've been looking for it and finally found it. I can't guarantee I'll stick with it, though. If I can't get used to the taste, I'll just have to make the calorie room for my regular stuff, but I'll at least try it for a while :D

I also get it at Trader Joe's. I decided for myself that I just plain overeat feta when tempted, so I am better off keeping the ff version around. Not as tasty, so not as likely to binge!

You're right there. I ended up throwing it out.

*blech* :barf:

I'll just stick to my regular feta and account for the calories. I never use more than 1 ounce per salad, anyway. I measure everything.

Maybe if you mix fat free and full fat feta, it would be good. Taste is there but half the calories and fat. Can you freeze it? If so I may give it a go.
I freeze my 2 % cheddar.

Hmm, didn't think of that. I've already thrown the other stuff out, lol.

Like I said, I only use one ounce at a time, so it's not like I sit there and pile on a huge load of the stuff ;)
