Hi gals:

Today is week 2 day 2 for me...did the sculp and strength segment tonight. Man, my abs hurt!!

I previewed the Boot Camp session ,,, man is it gonna be HARD! but I know after three weeks we will be ready for it!:carrot:

I just found your post...I bought the biggest loser dvd too but I've only done it once...I did like it but I bought a new stationary bike and have been using it....do you know if there is only one dvd out...Just wondering if we have the same one...How are you doing yours..I don't really remember it but didn't it have different ones for different days & weeks....Is that what your doing..

I'm trying to get motivated to do it again..Maybe you can help me..Do you post daily on your progress?

There's only one DVD out so far, Donna....Volume One.

I am following the six week workout plan as listed on the DVD. I discovered there is a typo on the graphics. This is the way it SHOULD read:

Weeks 1-3: Alternate between Workout #1 and #3
Weeks 4-6: Alternate between Workout #2 and #4

#2 and #4 are definitely going to be tougher that #1 and #3, but I think I'll be ready for it!

well I had a very long day today..i just got home not to long ago...So I didn't manage to get any exercise in today....I will do it tomorrow and I will add a little extra to make up for today.

well I did the biggest loser this moring before work:D ...I made it all the way through but i did have to do the last half of the jumping jacks the easy way and I had to side step through part of the lunges...my legs are not strong enough for the lunges.:( ..but it was a great workout and now I'm energized to go to work

p.s. I might try to do the strenght training part tonight..I need to make up for not exercising yesterday

Hey everyone, I usually do both 1 and 3, but yesterday I just managed to get #1 done and not 3 which is fine too. I also walked yesterday morning and managed to reach 10600 steps on my pedometer throughout the day.

I've been doing 1 and 3 alternatively like the rotation says, but as they are getting easier I think next week I will combine them so I get a longer workout.
I really like these DVD's. For some reason it's fun to pretend Bob's my trainer..it's motivating.

Hi ladies! I started the dvd Monday night and already down 6 pounds this morning. I have been trying to eat between 1000-1200 calories a day. Good luck to everyone and congrats on the weight loss as of this far!!

Nikki: Your calories are too low!!!! 1200 is the bare minimum for anyone, regardless of size. I'm judging by your picture (cute, by the way!) that you may need more calories to start, then cut back as your weight goes down.

Nikki - I agree with Jen - 1200 cals a day should be a bare minimum - especially as you are exercising on top of controlling calories. You need to be consuming enough to build muscle, not burn it as fuel.

I think 6 lbs is great and I admire your achievement! But I want you to be healthy as well. :hug:

Hello Nikki WELCOME!! :carrot: Nice to have you on board.

The ladies here are right, you will have to up your calories so that your metabolism doesn't slow down, and so you don't get major cravings - that may lead to binging - trust me, I've been there and it ain't pretty..... :o
By the way, congratulations on your 6 lb loss - Keep on going!!!:)

I did day 4 week 2 today. Some parts are starting to get easier for me, but others like the lunges are still pretty hard. If I go to low down it hurts my ankles. I guess the ankles will get stronger. I can now do the squats all the way through (I wouldn't want anyone to look in on me, I must look like I'm dying). I can't belive how simple the exercises are, yet I'm drenched in sweat after the cardio. It does make me feel better though, and my legs feel a lot stronger.

Now if I only could start eating better, I might actually lose some weight.

Hi Everyone! :wave: Can I jump in too??

I am with a great group on the support group forum but we all kinda do our own exercise- diet thing and since i am starting the BL DVD tomorrow I'd like to sneak in :D & chat with others doing the DVD and post results, get advice, Sweat and SUCCESS with this DVD.
I had planned on starting last Monday BUT woke up with a miserable cold or maybe it was allergies- couldn't hardly breathe let alone exercise- still a bit sniffly but plan to start tomorrow.
I attempted to do the Wo #1 when i first got the video - the key word is ATTEMPTED here. it may take a while but i will get to the point where it will be easy to do even the bootcamp part. 1 day at a time. my doctor says to do wo #1 for a week then work in # 2. he says i have poor exercise habits- (yep it cost me 30.00 to hear that :p )
I think what i like best is Bob is motivational and the fact that the people on the video aren't perfect - they really sweat and make mistakes like REAL people.

Happy Friday Ladies! One day away from my first full week of BL dvd and it is getting easier for me to do. Last night I did the 1 and 3 and I will do the same thing tonight and Saturday and rest on Sunday. Tuesday is my weigh in so hopefully the scale will show a lower number from this past Tuesday. I don't totally rely on the scale because I know I am losing alot of inches. I also walk 30-40 min MWFSaS and on the days I don't walk, I do Leslie Sansone.

Nikki1201, you have to eat more. Especially if you are exercising, your body needs more fuel to burn, but good job on those 6lbs!!! YAY!!

Wow, destinysmom, you are ambitious! You are only supposed to do EITHER #1 or #3, not both! But hey, if you have the time and energy to do both, go for it!!

Sandisuze, if you need to go longer than three weeks on #1 and #3, do it. Don't move on to #2 and #4 until you think you can do it. And you're right--it is great to see "real" people struggle and sweat! They look like they are having fun!

One thing I have to remind myself of in regards to the scale: Muscle weighs more than fat, and these workouts are putting MUSCLE on my body!! In fact, I went up about a half pound due to all the workouts. I'm not as worried about the scale as I am about how clothes fit. It's hard to remember when the scale doesnt seem to move, though!

I agree Jen - whenever I start a good exercise regimen, my body goes up and stays up for a while until things even out. I think for me it's not just muscle build, but also muscle swelling for a while. My muscles are like "what in the **** do you think you're doing? sit down!" hehehe

What's nice to know is that the more muscle you add on, the more efficient your body is at burning the fat! Oh how I look forward to that day...

hey everyone I did #1 yesterday along with 25 mins on bike and today I did #2 and will do bike tonight when I get home from work...I was wondering if any of you are using the weights in #2 and if so what size are you using...I used 5lb but I think it might be too much..

If you mean the strength and sculpt workout, yes I do use weights. They're only 2 pounders right now...I should get some 5 pounders!

All the workouts are less than an hour....

Jen - thanks for the site. I check my calories out and saw my range is 1400 - 1700. I thought I shoudl be between 1200 & 1500. The last week I was hitting between 1400 - & 1600 so I see I was at least doing what was suggested for my weight & goal - thanks again for shring the site

I am walking around like I am 105 years old- i have done WO #1 two times and lets say i am horribly exercised challenged.
i hate the phrase "no pain - no gain" - but i guess they are right
but i am doing it and it's a program i feel i can stick with.
and jen thanks from me too for the site and info- although I am trying the BL meal plan for 1500 calories (modified somewhat- but took alot of recipes and menus from the BL book and even tried the tofu Peanut butter- was pretty good.

:lol: keep telling me it'll get easier :lol:
maybe i CAN sit down like a normal person and not one in muscle "owies" /stiff and stop moaning very soon

I swear the pain at the beginning goes away....I won't guarantee you will never be in pain again - but your body will get more used to the exercise. :cb:

I did workout #1 again today....I do think I did better at it today...still can't do the lunges al the way yet...I'm hoping that after 3 weeks i can do it 100%

I love the dvd too..I especially like to punching part of the workout...I've only done #3 one time..I'm going to buy some lighter weights maybe 4 lbs...5lbs was just too much of a struggle...

Tofu Peanut butter is Peanut butter mixed up with tofu- heres the recipe:

1 cup silky tofu (it's also called silken tofu) well drained
1/3 cup Peanut butter ( to save calories i have used natural OR low fat PB)
4 teaspoons honey
2 teaspoons Lime juice

I take the tofu and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and put it in a strainer and put a bowl on top to help it drain- nothing worse than runny tofu-:D

Place all in a blender or food processor and mix until smooth-if too thick add a teaspoon of water and keep mixing. Keep in fridge. this is really good on celery or I make apple sandwiches (PB spread between apple slices -not on bread)
made w/ regular PB it has 80 calories for 2 TABLESPOONS, 5 grams Protein, 5 grams total fat , 1 gram Fiber.

Tomorrow i try the Edmame Gucamole:dizzy:
I took today off for exercise- Sundays are too crazy in my house Hopefully tomorrow the muscle soreness will be better :crossed: good to know it WILL get better - easier - hey i may even enjoy this soon :faint:

hey ladies!! I was posting on the wrong thread...........duh........:o!! I am doing the bl workout as well. Monday will be my third full day of it! I try to do #1 in the morning and then #3 in the evening. For right now I can't get through all of the lunges and squats.........they are killing me!! I get like halfway through each and have to go back to side stepping........lol!!! After doing the sculpt and strength for two days.........can we say abs are hurting!!!! I just love Bob though........he makes you feel good about doing it...(and it doesn't help that i think he is a hottie).......lol!! Is anyone else doing WW while doing the BL workout dvd? I am.........just wondering?? Well just wanted to check in.......I will probably post again tomorrow with more details of my agony through the squats and lunges..............I hope that it gets easier to do them!!! I feel like an old woman walking around for the rest of the day then!!!! :smug: :smug:

Hi-first time posting here-been a member for a long time but haven't joined in for ages.

Anyway, I'm doing WWonline and also using the BL dvd (just began last week). I jumped right in and did the boot camp with 2 pound weights on the first go and WOW did my abs ache! Took 3 days for the soreness to go away but I can say this-I can't manage all the jumping. I broke my right ankle and sprained the left on the same day last March and all that jumping just reminds me of those injuries (pain, pain and more pain).

I'm excited to see so many people also excited about this DVD-some of the Amazon reviews were pretty harsh.

I was planning to start my #1 and #3 workouts together this week but that may have to wait until next week. I've been sidelined with a horrendous chest cold the past two days and have not worked out at all. :(

So this week I think I will ease back into it with the normal 1 only or 3 only. May actually put these off until I do a few days of Walk Away the Pounds to see how the cough reacts.

Ah well...such is life. Hope to amp it up soon though.

I was wondering if I could join on in here, alittle about me, I am 24 and I have two small Children and son who is 2.5 years old and a daughter who is 15 months old, I do stay at home with them all day, so I have no excuses as to no time to work out, lol

I got the BL dvd last tuesday! and I love it! I am doing the 6 week plan, I did miss Sat and Sun workout, so today I did the bootcamp workout, because I missed those days, It was hard!!!! tomorrow I am back to workouts 1 and 3

I think this thread is great! I certainly need all the support and motivation I can get, as this is a constant struggle of mine, and I always seem to give up after a week or two.

Well, I just finished part 1. I have walked for 40 mins today too. I have only done part 1 three times now, and I can tell that the lunges and squats are easier. They are still rough to get thru, but I can do all of them without stopping. The first time I had to skip a few :D

I don't know about everyone else, but I am trying to eat lower fat food (which is my biggest problem) and it is really hard for me....I find myself craving everything from desserts to Taco Bell!!! Today is only my second day of eating well, and it is so hard. I'm hoping that after a few days of misery and cravings it will stop!!

hzrdus7- it took 2-3 weeks for my cravings to leave and then over the holidays i ate trigger foods and some foods i know i shouldn't eat -so i am back to "withdrawls" again. I get around some foods( white gluey wonder bread/italian bread/ chips etc.. and my heart pounds , the saliva gets going and i have at times had the shakes because of it. not sure if it was in my head but it was stressful. You can do it! :strong:
as my 13 YO would say WE ROCK!! ! :carrot:

I have to modify my jumping jacks at the moment. I can do some of them, but it hurts to do too many in a row.

I want to re-emphasize something: if you are following the six-week plan, it goes like this:

Weeks 1, 2 and 3: Alternate between#1 and #3 for six days a week, and pick one day to rest
Weeks 4, 5 and 6: Alternate between #2 and #4 for six days a week, and pick one day to rest.

If you move on to Week 4 and find the workouts too tough, it is perfectly fine to stick with the Week 3 for an extra week or so. If you advance before you are ready, you might burn out and totally quit altogether! And we don't want that!

That being said, I missed last night's workout. I am really suffering from menstrual cramps right now! I am hoping to feel well enough to attempt a workout tonight.

Sounds good to me. I just need to know how to get two tickers on, but that might give me the push that I need to get serious with the eating. I've been doing great with the work outs. I do the BL dvd and walk for 45 mins. By the way I find the jumping jacks difficult as well. To much bouncing up top if you know what I mean.

Jen, I always find if I have bad cramps going for a walk will help.

If any one can explain in an easy to understand way (I'm totally dumb when it comes to the computer) how to get two tickers that would be great.

Jodi- at the top of each page under the menu that says home, food, etc. it says user CP.
1. click on user CP
2 to your left (as you are looking at the computer) it will say edit signature
3. click on that and follow directions
( make sure you preview then remember to save)

maybe this will help with bouncing : I was told by a trainer to wear two sports bras- one a size smaller than needed and one the right size- she is "large "up top and does 5 areobics classes a day and uses the two bra system - i find it helps.

I have decided that until i can do the front tap, back tap, punch, punch, knee up -I am going to keep doing WO #1 . i guess i am hopelessly exercised challenged and i go left when they go right and move the wrong foot etc.. It is getting better but i still ache in areas that need to ache:D I know :strong: toning is important too but i feel i can't go on to another routine until i get one down and properly do the exercises.

I know I have a feb 17 goal - (not a challenge) but what the heck- i'll go for a st. patty's day challenge too- what type of challenge? like most pounds lost in this thread?

Well I did wo#3 tonight...........I love doing the sculpt and strength.........I feel so good afterwards.............wish I could say the same about #1.........I'm ready to fall on the floor after that one.............lol!! But I'm still going............thurs. is my rest day..........I'm really afraid if I stop then I will stop for good and I don't want that...........but I dont want to become like an exercise addict (omg I never thought those words would ever been mentioned in my presence..........lol). Is it hard to have that one day off?? :shrug:

Ok one more thing.............for those of you doing WW............I have a question for you?? I am doing WW but I don't go to meetings.......a friend of my mom's got me all the info from her doing it in the past.........but here is my question........sorry if it is a dumb one......but here goes..........is there like a certain number of say fruits or breads you have to eat in one day.......or is it just........you can eat what you want as long as you are using all your points??? I don't want to mess it up so I was just wondering if maybe I am doing it wrong or something?? :?: :?:

Hi Sandi, I can get one signature on but how do you get a second one on. I would like to put up a short term goal signature.

I'll try wearing two sports bras, hopefully that will work. I think I'll probably stay with WO 1 as well I can't do all of the lunges. The ones that you go down and then bring the leg up, I nearly fall over on those and my legs burn.

ethsmommy, I think 10lbs would be good. Count me in. I enjoy my rest day, since its a scheduled day off I don't worry about stopping for good. Its just part of my schedule, and I know my muscles need the rest.

I was pretty miserable yesterday with my TOM--came home from work at noon, took a pain pill, turned the heating pad on high and laid on the couch. Needless to say, I did not do my BL DVD...I still don't feel great, but I am going to try to do #1 tonight. I'm not going to push myself, though. If I can't get through, I can't get through!

Good Afternoon! I did workout #3 today and feeling pretty good! I am still only using 2lb weights, maybe I will switch to the 5lb ones next week??

right now when I step on the scale, I see no difference?? kind off discouraging, but it is that TOM, so I think I might be retaining water! atleast I hope so! I guess thats why I give up so easily, because I never see any changes right away, which I know is impossible, but I just feel as though I should... I have to get that thought out of my head! and I have to kick some butt for this awesome challange!

I think I will hang up a pair of jeans I used to fit into before pregnancy, and would love to fit into now! lol so that I can see them all the time, and maybe that will keep me motivated everyday!

I just wish this weight would fall off as easy as it comes on!!!!!!

well I didn't get to do my BL wo yesterday..I went out trying to find some 4lb weights...the 3lb was not enough and 5lb is too much...so i was out to late but I did get in 35 mins on my bike

I am up for the St. Pattys day challenge! The past couple of days I have been losing motivation. I did so well over the weekend too!! This challenge may be just what I need for a good jump start!! ;)

I plan to get back to doing my BL DVD tomorrow, I will be doing parts 1 & 3 since I've missed 2 days now. That'll teach me to take more than 1 day off!!!

Just got done watching BL. wow they looked awsome! Do they lift weights everyday? Who is in the Biggest Loser Club? I was wondering how much it cost and what it is like. They make it look easy. Wow if I can just get going again like I was before. I have Endo. I have been in pain so not done much lately. But going to get back in to it!!! Keep up the good work ladies!

For our challenge do we have a certain day we weigh in every week? I usually do my final weigh ins for the week on Fridays :D

I went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and she gave me the 1,000 calories a day meal plan it hard to stick with it but it is help me a lot .

well I did it again..I exercised before work instead of after...I just love when I can crawl out of bed early enough to workout...makes me feel good all day...

I did workout #1 today...It's still a challenge with the lunges and jumping jacks but i did do better on the jumping jacks

Good Morning Everyone. It is good to see everyone doing great. I had a change of pace yesterday. I always walk on MWFSaS and when I walked yesterday, I didn't do as well as I usually do. I figured I needed something extra in my workout so I did wo#2 the high intensity cardio just to get a well rounded workout!!! It was hard but it was a great workout. No squats or lunges but enough other stuff to compensate. I made it all the way through, stopping every now and then when I could not go anymore. But I can't wait until the next two weeks when I get to that workout. I may actually combine 1 and 2 since they are so short.

I have my WI tomorrow since I just started the WW Wendies Plan. My old WI day was Tuesday so I am excited to see how much I have lost since this past Tuesday. I really like this plan so far. Hope it works as well as everyone says it does.I haven't read any negatives comments on it as of yet

Well, like Jen, now I'm hit with my TOM. At least today is Friday, and my off day anyway. I had cramps last night, so I didn't get to do my DVD, but I did walk 2 miles. WI this morning showed me down 2 pounds! Hopefully I'll do that good or better next week for the St Pattys day challenge!! :carrot:

all you need for the biggest loser dvd is some weights for the strength training workout and bootcamp workout. You can use 1,3,5etc. or whatever weight you feel comfy starting out with. It is a great DVD!

I am not snacking on junk either but eating very good so we'll see next friday if it paid off.

Did my first #1 yesterday and OMG! it kicked my butt! I had to modify a little bit but that is definetly one good workout! I can feel it in my shoulders and upper back today bigtime, and i've been working out with weights for a few weeks now so that tells you what a great workout it is. I'm looking forward to doing #3 today.

Am I doing this right, you alternate #1 and #3 for 6 days for weeks 1 and 3 then on weeks 2 and 4 you alternate workouts #2 and #4? Then what? someone said the dvd was supposed to say something different than mine days, I'm still not sure what you do for weeks 5 and 6. Can someone help?

My favorite part of #1 was during cooldown when he says "I'm just up here stretchin on a rock" he got me laughing with that!

Hun, Here's something I wrote last week--hope it helps!

Hi gals:

I have to modify my jumping jacks at the moment. I can do some of them, but it hurts to do too many in a row.

I want to re-emphasize something: if you are following the six-week plan, it goes like this:

Weeks 1, 2 and 3: Alternate between#1 and #3 for six days a week, and pick one day to rest
Weeks 4, 5 and 6: Alternate between #2 and #4 for six days a week, and pick one day to rest.

If you move on to Week 4 and find the workouts too tough, it is perfectly fine to stick with the Week 3 for an extra week or so. If you advance before you are ready, you might burn out and totally quit altogether! And we don't want that!

Just purchased my Biggest Loser DVD yesterday and this morning I did WO #1. For sure, I need to get out my exercise bra and use it (for the jumping jacks). I'm not great with the lunges yet...but the rest of the workout I could do pretty good. I think those jumping jacks will get your heartbeat going up right away (which is a good thing). I may stick with WO #1 for the first week. I can say that I like it!! :carrot:

Good Morning, Yesterday I didn't do my BL workout, but I did do 25 minutes on my elliptical and 10 minutes of it with 2lb weights, I haven't been on that thing for a long time and after 8 minutes I was dying, lol the pain!!! but I pulled through!

I am dreading my BL workout today, #1 just kills me! but Im gonna get my butt up and do it right now! :D

I did it!!!! workout session #1 - I can do all the jumping jacks, and most of the squats..but I still can't do all the lunges....

I wasn't able to do my BL DVD yesterday, but I did do 45 minutes on an elliptical machine and sweat my butt off. I just finished the BL DVD #1 today (after dinner), but my eating was off at dinner. It seems like I can get one or the other, but have a rough time eating good and exercising. Why is it so hard???? I almost blew off the workout since I ate too much at dinner, but I am glad I worked out anyway. ;)

Good morning ladies!! I had to weigh in this morning and I am down another 3 pounds! This is my week 3 of biggest loser and i did workout 1 yesterday. Hopefully by Monday I will be strong enough on the lunges and squats to start 2 and 4. If not, I will be doing it for another week before I move on to 2 and 4. I can almost do the lunges and squats without stopping. That is my only challenge in that workout. So hopefully, I can work hard and get through them this week and start my next challenge. Good Evening! yesterday I did workout #3 in the morning and did 20 minutes on the bike at night, Today I did workout #1 and OMG! I could hardly do it! it felt like all my leg muscles were pulled so tight.. it really hurt! I had to modify the lunges and half the jumping jacks... :(
I enjoy #3 so much more :D, I don't feel as though I will be ready to move on next week.. I might watch #2 and 4 and see what they do in those ones, as I feel as though my motivation is slipping yet again..

I wish I had someone here to workout with! :p

and I also though you were to do only one workout a day :?:

Hey girls! I really didn't feel like working out today, but I did BL #3 as soon as I got home from work so I didn't have any time to talk myself out of it. Plus, that way when watch BL tonight, I don't feel guilty about not working out!!

The program described in the DVD calls for one workout a day 6 days a week. However, if you are only doing it four days a week or so, you can probably double up.....You just don't want to burn out or strain muscles!! Good luck everyone on the weigh ins....:p

I do it two times a day............just cause if I dont workout twice a day........I would stop completely..........Don't ask why............its just me i guess. I just feel better if I do it twice a day. Plus when I do the second in the afternoon I sleep better............guess I'm more tired out. But I just do two for the sake of exercising. I used to play volleyball in high school and I really enjoyed exercising. I still do enjoy exercising so maybe that is why i do it twice a day...........I dont know!!! lol well ladies have a great day tomorrow!!!

Hello everyone!

I just got this workout DVD and LOVE it!!! It's challenging, but not impossible to do. There are no crazy dance steps and I just think its great! Today was my 3rd day this week for doing it. I did #1 today. The lunges are killer! I get up about 4:45am to do it. If I ever won the lottery, I'd pay Bob to come train me at my house! I kinda :love: him!!! LOL. He's an awesome trainer.

Do any of you do the Winning By Losing Plan? I haven't really checked it out yet. I am just calorie counting right now.

I just finished #1 for the second time this week, those lunges absolutly kill me, I cant wait till i can make it thru the whole set with them. I'm just counting calories too, I get about 1500 a day. I hope everyone is having a spectacular day! I've got a buffet to conquer tonight, its my youngest's 7th birthday and thats where she picked for her dinner out. I'll do my best!! I just finished workout #2. I've had the DVD for three weeks now, and even though I haven't done it 6 days a week, I was curious to move on past the low intensity cardio. I can tell you now that I will NEVER complain about workout #1 again!!!!

I am dreading the weigh in tomorrow! My eating has not been very good at all. I have cut down, but I'm not eating as good of food as I was last week. I don't think I've gained, but I know I haven't lost. I guess we'll see for sure tomorrow!! Good luck to everyone in the St. Patty's challenge ;)

Way to go on those losses ladies!!! What an excellent way to start the weekend! I've not gotten to do my workout yet, I'm supposed to do #3 tonight but have to have dinner with the inlaws so hopefully afterward, if not I may have to double up tomorrow to get my 6 in this week.

I take my measurements...its VERY important to do so. My first 3 weeks on plan I only lost 8 pounds but I lost 6.5 inches. So when you arent seeing that loss on the scale you'll see it in inches and that means you really are shrinking! I cant recommend doing measurements enough!

Sherri, my first time with the #1 I couldnt believe how sore I was and i'd been working out for weeks before that...its an amazing workout!

Hi everyone! I just joined the BL Online club today. Hopefully, that will help me with my eating problem ;)

It seems to provide a realistic eating plan for me. There are a lot of choices for the menu selection, which is one thing I was pretty worried about before joining.

Hopefully, that will help me post more weight loss on Friday's weigh in!!

Has anyone else joined the online club?? When they were on the Tyra show there were two guests that used the online club and looked FANTASTIC!! They had lost the weight pretty fast too.....Hopefully I can stick to it.

I've had the dvd since it's release and have been watching the inspirational stories and the 24 hr fitness commercials - which I LOVE!!! Today I thought I would try the workout and see if I was ready. YEOWWW. Who knew about all those lunges? I started having knee pain pretty early on so had to do some other low impact during all those lunges --which feel like the whole segment!

Is anyone else bugged that it doesn't stay with the music? The kickboxing portion was awful bc I tried to stay with a beat, which Bob does not!

I think my problem is I get tired of doing the same thing over and over...
last year I was doing just my elliptical and I lost 14lbs, then I got bored stoped, and gained all that weight back pretty much, it really does suck, lol

I have decided to take a new approach this week and change things up! here is my week schedule,

Week Four - new approach!
Monday Jan 30th - BL workout session #4
Tuesday Jan 31st - 30 minutes elliptical, 15 minutes with weights
Wednesday Feb 1st - BL workout session #2
Thursday Feb 2nd - 25 minutes Bike
Friday Feb 3rd - BL workout session #4
Saturday Feb 4th - day off
Sunday Feb 5th - 30 minutes elliptical, 15 miunutes with weights

I really think planning the week ahead will really help me get my workouts done! :)

he really really pushes you! I did have to modify the push-ups and some of the jumping jacks...

I also watched Matt's and Suzy's inspirational stories this morning, and it does give me hope that I can do this, they were just like me.

Mind if I join in? I bought the dvd Saturday, did #1 yesterday and #2 today, it was much tougher than I expected but loved it! Will be 55 right before St. Patty's so a ten pound loss would be a great gift to myself. Am also trying Jorge Cruise 3 hour diet. So far no weight lost. oh well

Hi, haven't been around for a week, just to busy. Anyway I didn't lose any thing last week. Oh well.

I am keeping up with workouts though. I've done wo 1 and 2 for 4 weeks. So today I thought I'd go for wo 4 bootcamp. Thank goodness I decided to just use the 1lb weight for the first time. I think I'll have to keep the 1 lb weights for a while. It was a killer. I did it all , just had to modify the push ups. Good workout though, I felt good after doing it.

Well............I finally got back into the swing of things..............except I am gonna try to do it just once a day now..............i think that was my problem this weekend............exercise BURNOUT!!!! Too much of the same thing over and over again............YUCK!!! So I did #3 today..................I felt sooo much better after starting again. I havent worked out yet today, got a tummy thing going on today so I'm having a hard time getting motivated. thats what I get for eating so badly this weekend I suppose. And my exercise bike is broke...I'm just having a heck of a time!!

we just do the challenge from here... you can get yourself a ticker if you'd like, most of us set a goal of 10lbs.. then every friday we will weigh in with hopefully a loss. Its just a little insentive... and its so much easier to make a small goal, because you can achieve them so muck faster... and it makes you feel good :D

Hey guys! I've been so busy I haven't been able to log in after my workouts! I didn't do BL since last week, but I have been walking and doing the elliptical. I am about to do BL #1 right now. Hi everyone! Well I didnt think I was going to do my BL workout today because I just ran out of time in the day. I did ride the stationary bike for an hour and I planned on doing the stability ball while I watched American Idol but looks like state of the union is on first. So maybe I should go ahead and do that BL workout! That or homework...wow big toss up there LOL! Keep going strong ladies!! You can do this!

Well I was about to do workout #2, then my husband woke up, and wanted to do some runninmg around, so we were out from 12-5pm and im sure I walked about 3.5 hours of that time, and my feet are killing me! I think that was a good workout for today :D

but it looks like everyone is staying on track! which is awesome :cheer:

I have not been doing the BL WO very often lately...I started doing the WATP video...I think its a better workout for me as a beginner...BL is good but it too short...I still do it sometimes to change things up

But I got Jillian's frontside and backside dvd's.............OMG.............they are soo much harder than #2................So I am gonna mix it up a bit with both of them...........I also got a yoga for beginners........Well it's called Just My Size Yoga for Beginners............So I am gonna try and do that on my day off since it isn't soo intense........more of a relaxing thing..........god do i need to relax!!!! Well ladies have an awesome day!!!!

well........just finished up #4..........god i can't even use the weights through it yet..........i am practically dying with them..........so for now until i get used to doing it more........i will hold off with the weights..........tomorrow i am doing #2........little nervous about that one........haven't done it yet!! Well I am definetly unmotivated today!!!! I put on the BL tape, then turned it off... went to put on another tape... and turned it off too... I have to energy/... I did take the kids out for a walk today though~ and I did call one of our fitness gyms here, and made an appt. to come and take a tour tomorrow... my friend already goes there, and my husband want o go and so does my mom, so that would help with motivation if I had people here pushing me to go! they said they had lots of deals going on, so I hope that means we can afford to go! I am so excited!!!

Edited ** I did my 30 minute Richard Simmons tape, I guess I just needed to do something differnent today, to get me going~

Hey guys! It's been awhile since I've been on. Looks like everyone is being successful!! :carrot:

I have also bought Jillian's workout DVDs and have been incorporating those in with my BL DVD. I can not hardly make it thru the warm ups on her DVD. It's almost too hard to even begin and work up!! I just completed #1 on BL DVD. I haven't tried Boot Camp yet, but I'll probably attempt it tomorrow.

Glad to see all the hard work ladies!!

I don't know how you keep up with Jillians DVDs!! You must be in a lot better shape than me ;)

I did the Shape Up Front and it was really rough!! I do really like the Cardio Kickbox though. It is a good cardio workout and I sweat a whole lot doing that.

its_my_turn - you can still weigh in with us and post your workouts if you'd like. I post whenever I workout regardless if it's with BL or not. You can always do BL on your days off of the gym!!

I'm doing the BL dvd too. I've just finished my first week. It is getting easier. However, I don't see how I will ever be able to do #2. I wish I could do it by accident :D . I started my diet about a week and a half ago and the exercise a week ago. Not one pound lost :( . I keep thinking tomorrow will be the day. I know I shouldn't weigh myself everyday. Just can't help it. Keep going everyone, Maybe I will be able to do it too.

There are four workouts, one low intensity cardio one high, strength training and a "boot camp." I don't know how to describe boot camp really. I think it must be painful though. I got my dvd at Wal-Mart for like 9 $. I did number one today I’m getting better at it. Anyone know where I can get a good sports bra in a large size? I will never be able to do the Jumping Jacks without a good sports bra.

Everyone really seems to like this DVD, I will be ordering mine this weekend, so I should get it some time next week, or the week after. I'm also ordering Jillian Michaels Disc set for my mom, and once I lose a few pounds I will probably borrow them from her, they look too advanced for me right now.

I will probably do the DVD in the mornings, and then workout on my bike in the afternoons. I'll let you all know how the first workout goes when I get the DVD!! :)

First of all let me say "Happy Valentines Day!"

Secondly I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Tina, I'm 28, married, and a stay at home mom of one 4 yr. old girl.

I've started bettering myself on Jan. 2 of this year. So far I have lost 20lbs. doing my own thing. Counting calories and fat grams. I have gained so much inspiration and motivation from watching the Biggest Loser. I am such a big fan of the show! When I learned they had a workout dvd, I was so excited! The only problem was, it wasn't and still isn't available in Canada. So I finally gave into a long time fear of ordering online. My workout dvd is suppose to arrive on or before next thursday.

Thus, bringing me here to you all. I stumbled accross this thread last friday and it seems like you are a great bunch. I joined 3FC just a month and a half ago and have drawn so much support from a thread I've joined called 1 year / 100lb. buddy. But I would love to belong to a support system such as this aswell! Doing the same workout I'd be trying.

Would any of you like to let me in on what to expect from this video? And how you like it.

I have been slacking on my BL workouts, haven't done it in over 2 weeks, since I have joined the gym! I hope to start doing them again on the days I don't go to the gym!!!

Tina I also live in Canada, and I looked everywhere for the BL DVD... I had to order if from Chapters... as they said they sell it here, its just been sold out! lol..

Tiffany, I hope you are feeling better soon! its no fun being sick! my 2 kids are, and its **** around here, lol

I'm two days into week three and every night I don't want to do it. Somehow I just get up and do it. For some reason I hate the warm up the most. Does anyone else feel this way? It is getting easier but It's still hard and I can't do everything exactly the right way.

QueenOfThePararie - if you live in the US, I think you should be able to buy it from any store like Wal-Mart.

I live in Canada and I had to order mine off Chapters.ca, it took about 2 weeks to get it.. I haven't seen it in any stores!

I went back to the doc's.........still wasn't getting anybetter.......now i have bronchitis...........it moved from all up in my head.....the mucus that is.........and now is in my chest!!!! God i hate being sick!! It doesn't help either that I have to babysit my godkids and they are all sick too............it's like a germ factory there!!! But I have been eating well this week!!! Hey girls! It feels like I haven't been on in forever! I've been under the weather like Ethsmommy, it really sux! I've had a sinus infection for over a week.....I'm finally almost all the way over it. Today was my first day working out in that time and I went to the gym and did an elliptical and some weight training. I can really tell that I haven't been working out!! Tomorrow, I hope to do the BL DVD or Jillian's Cardio Kickbox.....just anything to get me moving. Maybe I'll do both just to get my butt in gear! :smug:

But I succeeded the St. Patty's Day challenge! and am now on to an Easter challange, would anyone like to join in? I find it really helps going for small goals!
weigh-ins are on Fridays! unless you like to do it another day...

I really need to lose this weight, I ordered my wedding dress, and it was a size 20.. disapointing I tell ya, I tried on an 18 and it fit good, so I don't know why they went with a 20, because when I get it back in June, Its gonna be way to BIG!!!!!! I have 7.5 months to do it, some people thinks it an unrealistic goal, or just don't think I will do it, and it hurts because its my friends that says it, but im gonna show them!!!!

Hey everyone. I just got the BL DVD today and right now I'm just going to try a few exercises but on March 12th I'll be starting Week 1 and all the exercises it entails. I'm going to do the six week workout plan because I know that I'll just choose easy ones if I customize it. I like it when people push me. So ya. I was just updating my new BL DVD lifestyle. Well, I rented the BL dvd from Netflix...watched it tonight and realized that it's too weight-bearing for me. Too much bending knees and jumping and doing things on your feet without support.

I need to be careful as I weigh 340 lbs and have arthritis in one knee and my ankle on that same leg is just healing from a partial rupture of my achiles tendon. I was kindda bumbed but I figure once I'm down 50lbs I will rent it again and see how it feels.

Right now I'm doing a stationary bike for cardio (best thing I've found for my knee!) and am specifically looking for a DVD that will help me with weight training. Y'all got some advice? Again, keep in mind I need it to be low-impact. Thanks!

I finally bought the DVD and it is kicking my butt!!! I created my own workout and combied the sculpt with the high intensity and I am feeling it!

Hopefully combining this workout and Curves will give me the edge I need to get into Onederland!!!

I just ordered this DVD on ebay about a week ago, and it should be getting here today. I can't wait. I am trying to get in shape to run at least a 1/2 marathon this November, and really need something to help with some strength training and sculpting, aside from running/walking. I'm also doing some basic yoga for flexibility these days, and have found that my kids (boys 2, and 4 stay home with me all day) love to try and do the positions too... I really can't wait for my dvd to be here though, from reading all the posts on here, it is an awesome buttkicking workout, which is just what I need. Looking forward to telling you guys just how much it kicks mine, lol.

Hey everyone! I'm new, and this is my first post in this thread. I just started working out with the DVD today and man... I am out of shape! I had to keep stopping midway because it was too intense. Hopefully all that will fade as I get healthier. My goal is to be able to do these workouts and still have some energy left at the end of my day. My question is, when do you start to feel like it gets easier?

If you try to go thru the whole segment, even if you have to rest, I've found that I've been able to get thru the entire segment without stopping after only a few times. It still hurts, and will probably always hurt, but I can get thru it all the way. Keep it up, it won't take long!!

wow, so many new faces! lol

I hope everyone is doing well! I have been so bust lately planning the wedding, then the kids getting sick, then me getting sick..

But I am doing well! I know when I step on the scale tomorrow for the final weigh in of the week I will finally have 20lbs off!!!!!!! this makes me so happy! I have to lose 17lbs more to get to pre-pregnancy weight, then I am aiming for 140! and then if I can make it to that, I will go for my final goal of 120!

how is everyone doing?

looks like i am really late in this game... i just bought the biggest loser dvd yesterday and i couldnt even get through all of the low impact!!! it's because those lunges always trip me up :(
but then i tried to do the boot camp and i made it halfway through... then i did 6 minutes out of the 8 minute abs video i have... LOL
feeling kind of "non-attentional" today :-/

I see that no one has posted on this for a while. I just started the BL DVD workout and OMG! It is really killing me! I definitely am feeling it! I am getting ready to do my workout for today. How is everyone else doing?

Okay, so I JUST completed BL Workout #1. And let me just say, I am going to not be able to move tomorrow! My legs haven't burned this much since I was in marching band! I guess it's a good thing, let's just hope my butt doesn't permanently attach itself to the couch. ;)

So I guess I will be doing it again tomorrow. :carrot: Whew! I'm beat!
