Wowee! I slept in until 3:30! This is getting crazy. I was in bed at nine as yesterday was a very long and physical day. Tonight I'll try to stay up later and see if that gives me a more reasonable wake-up time.
With all the folks posting, it's really impossible to do personal replies to everyone who posts in the daily. However, I do read and pop in and out during the day.
Today the guys will be here at 8 again - chip-chip-chip! They have removed half a truckload of mortar from the basement foundation and the house hasn't fallen down - yet. I'm really glad The Girls aren't here as they'd be going crazy with barking. I've been working upstairs to get away from the noise and am finally caught up on ironing and filing.
I'll go to town to get my replacement glasses :( and then to foot care mid-afternoon. The Long Horn re-opens after a two week Christmas break so that just might be my dinner treat - not wings!
So what's happening on your spit of sand? :cofdate:

Ruth - good morning! Sounds like me - we turned in around 9:30 or so last night, and I was up around 1:30. I swear my body doesn't know what to do with sleep anymore! Except that it always seems to remember just at the most inconvenient times!
Schatzi - looks like a variety of stag beetle? I could see how one o' those might be a little startling galloping out from the woodpile at you! If that's what it is, I think they are detritous eaters - pretty much harmless, unless you are a piece of rotting wood! ;)
Soon - tell us about your new boss when you get a chance! I want to know how it's going!
As usual, I have a full plate (not of food!) today: I have to finish my Geology unit 1 assignment, which was divided into 3 parts (the first part was due Saturday). I need to review someone else's part A for my part B, then my part C involves observing something (can be pretty much anything, I think), then formulating a minimum of 20 questions based on my observations, then selecting one question, formulating several hypotheses for that question to answer it, and then predicting what might happen should each hypothesis prove correct. Basically, it's an exercise in scientific method and thinking. It won't be difficult, but it may be time consuming.
I also need to finish my readings for both geology and social psych, and finish responding to the posts due yesterday (I have to respond to a minumum of three in a substantial manner by friday morning).
I would like to get a start on my geology homework, if I manage to finish all the above with time leftover.
And the living room has been hit by Hurricane Alex, suffering widespread, but superficial, damages as a result - clean up needs to commence asap as this particular "hurricane" is notorious for his encores!
And of course, there is always laundry to wash/fold/put away and dishes to do!
Oh - before I space - I made one of the dump chicken recipes last night - it was quite tasty! It was for "Peachy Dump Chicken." It was mostly OP for phase 2/3. It did have OJ and a wee bit of honey in the sauce, but most of that didn't get eaten anway - it just flavored the chicken while it cooked. The sauce also had chopped peaches, ginger, soy sauce, and orange zest - if anyone's interested, I can post it in the recipe forum. We ate the cooked peaches, but left most of the juices behind. I cooked broccoli with it, and as a treat to my poor, tired, recovering-from-illness DH, I made biscuits (replacing half of the flour with ww pastry flour so they wouldn't be quite so bad). All in all, it was pretty yummy. I had planned to make a salad, too, but now I'm coming down with whatever and I just didn't have the energy.

Good morning, Chickadees~~:coffee:
Not much going on here. On the countdown to our anniversary cruise. By this time Friday morning I'll be standing in line for security at the airport. I plan on wearing slip on-off shoes so I don't have to deal with the hassle of finding a spot to put them back on after I've gone through Checkpoint Charlie.
I never did hit my goal of losing another 10 pounds before the cruise. Thank you so much food poisoning! My body just has never been the same. I never seem to know what food might be a "trigger". Yesterday it was saurkraut. Who knew??? I ate broccoli 2 nights before and was fine.
On the cruise I plan to eat plenty of protein, avoid things like pasta and other junk. (My sister's advice...she said avoid the stuff you can eat at home and go for the expensive stuff like lobster and prime rib!)
I do plan on giving myself permission to enjoy one decadent dessert each day--BUT--with the caveat that I hit the gym every day or do a heckuva lot of walking every day. I may not lose anything (not even planning on it) but I may just burn off the extra calories/carbs I've indulged in. And water with lemon will be my beverage of choice. In that hot tropical weather, you can become dehydrated easily, so I will be drinking plenty! :)
This weekend I traded up on my spinning wheel. I got a wheel I'd been wanting for about a year and sold my "training wheel" to a new spinner. Net cost to me- $50.
I don't really believe in New Year's Resolutions, but I did decide that I was going to start taking advantage of opportunities when they present themselves and start thinking positive. (This all came about when I got the axe over Christmas). When I saw that new wheel available and right in front of my nose, I went for it! :D
Ruth, IKWYM about all the posts! It's gotten to be like a mad birdhouse around here! I hardly know who's who!
Schatzi, did you ever figure out what that bug was yesterday???
Soon, HAGD at work...hopefully the boss will be merciful and the meeting won't last 2 hours. UGH! I hate meetings...biggest time-wasters on the planet.
Hope all you chicks to come have a wonderful day on the Beach~~

Heather, you and I need to go and sign up for sleep therapy classes. I'd like to be able to just take out my battery and go straight to dreamland for 7 or 8 hours.
Scahtzi, thanks a heck of a lot for posting that bug picture! Yick!
My vanilla cream bath is ready and I'd better hop into it before the work crew gets here. There's a new guy coming today. I'll check him out for you.
Happy Tuesday!

Morning Ruth, Schatzi, H-Ko, Mama, and Soon- Have a great OP day!!
A quick check-in this morning before I load up the baby. DH has the 4 year old this morning so there is only one kiddo to pack up. :)
Today is official WI for me and I am down 5 pounds. I know this first 5 went quickly because I went from feeding frenzy over the holidays to strcit eating. I don't care- I will take it as it puts me at my lowest P\post-pregnancy weight yet. Only 4 pounds to go until all baby weight is gone. Of course, Meg is 7 months old, so it has taken me awhile!!
Have a super day all!!

Good Morning all. Another long day in store. I exercised early this morning. Next, get my son to school and off to another day of avoiding snacks at work. After work I go to job number two - I clean for my mother two days a week. Will be a late supper again tonight. My weight has stalled for the last two days and that hasn't helped my motivation. I was really hoping to see a pound gone this morning.
Hoping for a good day on the beach today!!!

Hi everyone. This is my first time posting on the daily board. I've been a lurker for a while and recently decided to join in the conversation
I started SBD in April and it has been great for me. I got within about 10 pounds of my goal and decided to stick it there for a while. Well, transitioning to phase 3 is HARD. Things slipped a little... not too bad. Then December struck. I didn't do well. So back on phase 1 for a couple weeks and doing well.
I can say that I feel so much better and in control when I'm really sticking with it.
Looking forward to a good healthy day. This is my rest day from exercise, but have an awsome menu for my day in great part thanks to the board.
Have a good day everyone :carrot: (even tho I can't eat :carrot: on phase 1 <sigh>

freaky - don't be discouraged! Lots of things can cause a temporary stall, and besides - weight can fluctuate so much from day to day. That's why a lot of people advocate weighing in only once a week at most - if at all! Maybe you could try taking a break from the scales for a bit if it's getting you down to weigh daily? Also, you don't have much to lose, so it's not likely you'd see rapid weight loss like people who have much greater amounts to shed will see. A pound or so a week is a nice, reasonable, and healthy amount to lose for most people, and the nearer you are to your body's ideal weight (which is not always the same thing as your goal weight!), the slower the weight will come off. The important thing is that you are eating healthfully!

Freaky HKO is right Hon, don't get discouraged...Weight will go up and down everyday! Go with weighing 1x a week... I like Wednesdays personally.. And only once a week, because although I know my weight will flucuate, if it shows a stand still or a "gain" it really effects my mood...silly I know!
Alright girly girls! I got to git my hiney in gear fer the day!!!!!!

Mornin Chicks.....(yawn). TOM always makes me sleepy and drag thru the day. Now I know why I had a hard time concentrating on my math homework. OY!
Well, I didn't do so well losing the 1st week of P1. It was busy last week, and didn't get in all the water or eat lunch and snacks like I ought to have. Just wasnt home to eat them. Or ate way late. And with TOM showing up, it may even be more than I thought. My WI was supposed to be sun, but I swell before TOM gets here, so I am putting it off till this sun. Now that I know my schedule at school, I will be able to get on a routine. As for water, I found this 34oz thermos drinking cup. So if I drink 2 of those a day, I know I hit my water goal. I have been drinking out of a 12oz cup, but the bigger one is working for me. Unfortunately, I only got one in yest. One is better than none.
As for school....my english class is going to kick my butt! I really like the prof and the advisement woman warned me I would work hard, but she said he is worth it all. So we will see. :p
Everything went like I thought at the dr. Those pharmacutical co's need to put over-the-counter meds out for bacterial vaginosis, not just yeast infections. I know some of us suffer from that more that yeast infections.
Ok, I have ranted long enough. :lol3:
Just one more thing...... :) I lurk off and on all day. Sometimes I can respond to the afternoon posts and sometimes I can't. BUT!!!! I am always thinkin of my chicks and love reading whats going on with everyone.
Ruth-A new man huh???? Let me know if I ought to move up there huh?
Schatzi- Kudos to y'all that can get up that early. I can't. Its in my DNA. Found that out when my dad was here. :lol3:
Hi-my house isnt usually hit my Hurricane Zander(DS), but its ALWAYS hit by Hurricanes Sierra, Brooke, and Piper(Dear nieces) I love them to pieces, but they are so destructive....:(
Mamacita-Bring me back some dolphins! :D
Kiko- YAHOO ON THE 5lbs!!!!!!! :carrot:
Freaky- Chin up. We all stall from time to time. It will come off. ;)

Hi Chicks:)
Hello to all, and :cheer:big congrats :cheer: to all the losers & shrinkers.
Today I'm on Phase 1.5 for 3 days now and I feeling good, no cravings or binging. Hoping for a good W-I on Sat. Dh told me not to look at the scale until than, otherwise if I do see what I want to see, I get upset. Thats good advice.
By Phase 1.5 I'm eating foods from Phase 1 ,but I adding 1 grain carb per day.Little afraid to add back fruit as it makes me gain.

Good Mornin' Ya'll
I just can't get over all the posts everyday, so Hi to everybody!!!!!
DH has started new hours as of last night. He doesn't go in until 2am so when he is getting up, I'm going to bed. I guess we'll catch up on the weekends? I am not too happy about this, but what are you gonna do.
I wasn't much into eating dinner last night, so I had a can of tuna and dipped orange pepper slices. It was actually pretty good. I had never tried that before. So I decided to bring it for lunch today as well.
Everybody take care, and have a great day!!!!;)

I'm WFH today so I'll have to be careful to make sure I don't snack on things I shouldn't. I've already made a 3 bean salad for tonight and plan on making coleslaw too to go with the hamburgers we are having. I did make it to the gym yesterday which felt great. I have a pack committee meeting tonight but I should still be able to exercise first since dinner will be so easy.

Mornin chicks! Today is the first day back at school. I don't teach until tomorrow but I have 2 classes today. This semester is my last one of classes! Then I'm done with classes for good! Whoo hoo!
Schatzi: Whats with people renaming my rats?? My friend renamed Percival Albert and now you name Alfred....Cecil?? Actually I like that name and have been thinking about getting another rat. Maybe he'll be a Cecil?? :D
H-ko: Good luck with classes. You're already full on in it but I'm just getting started. This semester I take Adv. Ecosystems Ecology and an Urban Environmental course. Should be fun!

Morning all,
I had trouble logging on this morning, and I finally got through! I don't know what was going on? I've been putzing around here getting a few things done. I just put a meatball casserole in the oven, so when I get home tonight all I have to do is reheat it. I have to remember to stop and pick up some cabbage to shred to serve it over, or maybe a spagetti squash. Jake will want his over pasta. The girls and I are meeting up with another friend of mine who also is a nanny, and we're taking the kids to Boomers for the afternoon. It's an indoor playground with lots of tunnels and slides. The kids just love it, even Maggie. We're having lunch there, so I'm a bit pensive about that. They serve mostly pizza and sandwiches and you aren't allowed to bring your own food in. I think I'll bring some hummus and veggie sticks to keep in the car, so if there's nothing OP there, I'll just eat later.

Good mornin chickies,
POsted my check in post in the wring thread lol, I am off to a great start this morning. Anyway I have read all your posts and wanted to check in and say HI.
EVERYONE is sick. If I did not know better I would say you CAN catch a cold through the internet and we are all sharing our sickies lol.
H-KO - LOL about the 'hurricane' I totally understand how that goes, good luck with your damage control :)
Mamacita - oooooooh I love cruises. I took one in April to the bahamas for my honeymoon. Loved it! IMO the only way to travel! Seems like a shame tos pend the whole time avoiding certain foods and working out. This is just my opinion but cruises are expensive, and its a VACATION. I mean do not gorge yourself but I think it would be fine for you to take a break while on your cruise. It might even refresh you to kick start into being exceptionally good when you get back.
Kiko - CONGRATS on the 5 lbs! That is great, unfortunately for me I have not been OP and the needle on my scale has gone the other way :( boo hiss!
Freaky - I cannot even fathom how you do it! I work two jobs as well but one of them (photography) is more like a passion so it hardly feels like work. I am horrible at cooking/cleaning. I cannot even imagine adding kids into the mixture. You know people are always impressed with celebrities/models who look amazing but thye have like endless access to time and personal trainers to work them out and experts to plan what they dont eat lol. I am always impressed when Moms find ways to keep themselves fit.
Doodess - Welcome to the main board hunnie. I cannot wait to be on PH3, ofcourse I will have to quit restarting PH1 if that is ever going to happen.
Beach bum - congrats on 'graduating' sounds like you are in control!!!
Demeter - that is awesome, I can only hope I too will have great news like that to look forward to after my first week. I will definitely keep my fingers crossed for you hun.
Anyway, stay OP today...

I need to go out and run today, but I don't wanna. I have to get this house clean, I did crafts all day yesterday and my house looks like it! I do want it spotless so that I can relax tonight. Today is SPA day for me.....I'm so excited! Facial, body massage and pedicure!:carrot: :carrot: Reward for being OP so well. Anyhoo, I really need to STEP AWAY FROM THE 'PUTER.
Congrats to losers and welcome newbies. :bravo: :welcome: Ruth keep us informed on the new guy.....if ya know what I mean. Schatzi my love, you would love subzero temps.......it's fun not feeling your fingers and toes and having your eyes water to death everytime you go outside....then there's this trick you can do, stick your tongue on a metal pole and watch what happens:rofl:
Well, I'm off to decide what to do! I love having a few days off!

Morning Chicks!
I'm down another pound! :carrot: Woo Hoo! I worked out with the Personal Trainer last night!
I'm purchasing a "cow share" of a dairy herd. This way we can get raw milk and not drink the stuff full of chemicals. I'm so excited. This is my first organic investment. DS is so excited that we get to see the cows this weekend and get our first gallon of pure milk. Plus we get cream so we can make butter too!
It all started last year when I read Fast Food Nation and saw the documentary Supersize Me. This year I'm reading Kevin Trudeau's book for detoxifying your body. He recommends that you get 15 colonics in 30 days. Well that is kind of pricey at $54.00 pop. I'm going to do 3 a week for a month. I wish my flex plan paid for it. I had my first one done yesterday and it was ok. Not fun but not as horrifying as I imagined. The premise for weight loss is that my body is so full of toxins :fr: that I can't lose weight properly (so he says). So I'm doing SBD and incorporating more organics, switching to whole food organic supplements and working on detoxifying my whole body. The first is the colon, then liver-gall bladder, candida, parasite, then lymph system, then fat flush, then a full body detox. It should take me a year to get through them all. All this plus I have to stick to SBD and exercise. Whew I'm tired just thinking about it but I'm also excited too! So we will see if it helps the weight loss at all! Worst thing that could happen is I could get healthy! ;)
Hope all you chicks have a good day!

I'm back folks....2 hr meeting became a 3hr meeting...ugh! More like a joke. There's 1 mgr that is a complete joke & she sat there pointing fingers (which really annoyed me...before I thought she was too dumb, but know I know she's just lazy!)
So far I like my new boss....she's very motivating (besides the 3hr meeting!) She makes me feel good about working there & I think she will straighten the lazy manager out PDQ! (which I will enjoying seeing!)
Tomorrow I have a meeting with an Avon rep. I asked a few folks in here for some advice (thanks ladies!) and decided to go with Avon. I need to make some additional $$ to help with the wedding expenses. DF & I have been researching & we think we will get married at "The Little White Wedding Chapel" on the strip & we can get the deluxe package for under $1000. (The wedding that I REALLY wanted was the "Eiffel Tower at Twilight" at the Paris but that's $10,000 -YIKES!! Don't think I'm going to get that one....that's a lot of Avon!) We are slowly planning...no date yet.. depends on how fast we can raise some funds!!
Phone is ringing...gotta go

Good morning ladies!
Just kind of jumping on in LOL. Starting Day 1 again today, doing well so far now that I've gotten some things straight about the diet. Not so much pressure lol.
My DH started his first official day of work today (he works 4am-2pm) and unfortunately DD didn't want to sleep till close to 1am and he couldn't sleep so we were all up late last night. Maybe I'll go walking this morning to get some energy! The other day I walked a mile and I didn't die so I guess my body can take it lol.

Soon,
Isnt that where Britney Spears got married to that guy (you know the marriage that only lasted like 24 hours lol). I fell in love with my husband in Las Vegas. The Bellagio has always been our place. If you can get a photographer or some friends to take some pics of you in front of the Bellagio fountains while you are still in your dress and he in his tux. No matter what they are guarenteed to turn out beautiful and you will thank me later! Also you could take pics on a gondola ride at the venetian...sorry I am a photographer and I always wish I had more pics from the wedding. So many great places for photo ops in Vegas...

I'm sitting at work and eating my turkey chili I got off the recipe section. It is yummy. Also tried the turkey pepperoni snack from the phase 1 snack board. Was excellent!
Thank you everyone for the warm welcmome  It's fun reading little tidbits from everyone's life. It will probably take me a while to get to know people better, but it will be fun.
Beach bum commented on what I said about it being difficult to transition to phase 3... and I know what you mean. That sounds like a happy problem. But it's common to gain back the weight you lose after going off the diet and that's what I'm worried about. I gained about 8ish pounds in a few months thinking I was on phase 3. So now I want to re-lose that and finally actually get to my goal then retackle the transition again. I'm sure I'll be successful next time!
Hope the rest of everyone's day is good!

Hi! I'm actually on my lunch (and I'm taking it darnit!) so I thought I'd pop in
Man it is hopping today! Its a good thing our beach is an infinite size
Last night My DH had a meeting and kicked but at a presentation I was so proud
I had my gf come over we all ate what i just posted on the soups and stews thread. We watched some sitcoms and a bad dating show on MTV
culminating with the bachelor I don't like reality TV but that guy was HOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT
so we watched and made fun of the contestants Fake Breasts anyone?
Today is just slow and quiet so far
there's too many people to respond too!
I have to get here early ;)
Have a great day on the beach!

Man, some of you are WAY braver than I am. I'm scared of getting my teeth cleaned, while some of you are going to get your colon cleaned out. No thanks. Yowza. I think I'll pass on that one. I seem to be able to clean mine out just fine (when I'm not on Phase 1, that is.)
Sounds like everyone is keeping busy! I just finished my lunch and am killing the rest of my half hour. I'm definitely ready for the day to be over. I have kick boxing tonight and afterwards I'm going to make a Flatout pizza. (Hey, you can have that on Ph 2 so I'm really not bragging about being on WW.) Then I have to work on the spread sheet I may have messed up last night. I don't think I did, but my Dad raised a possibility, so now I'm freaking.
Everybody getting their water? I had to get up to pee at 10:30, 1:15, and 3:00 this morning. Fortunately Terry sleeps like a rock, so I didn't disturb him every time I got up. Yes, I go to bed before 10:30. 10:00 at the latest is bedtime. I'm old and tired.
Well, I guess I'll get back to work. Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Afternoon all...
I'm usually not able to get on to post until the kiddos go down for nap, so I'm a bit late. Took advantage of #1 at preschool and brought #2 with me to the gym. Had a new Yoga instructor that was...well let's just say that workout kicked my butt :dizzy: The bad thing was I kinda missed breakfast ( just had 1/2 banana and tea), but I think I had a decent lunch and I'll have a small protein shake this afternoon. I think I decided on shrimp stir-fry for dinner with brown rice (I only eat 2 TB mixed in). I should be washing my kitchen floor or folding laundry - but my arms hurt!
Kiko - When is your 7mo old's birthday? Mine was born June 9th. I lost my pregnancy weight right after the baby and then gained half of it back, so now I'm relosing. Sounds like you are doing great!
Freaky - One of the things that worked for me before was making sure that I didn't eat anything past 7pm. If I had to eat a late dinner, I had a big lunch that day and just a small dinner. I don't know if that will work for you...but I thought I'd throw it out there
Doodess - Hey there...I'm new too!
Anchor - Wow! Colonics? You are one brave woman! I understand why you're doing it and I would like to do some kind of detox, but I don't think I could bring myself to do that. Love the idea of the cow share, we do a similar thing in the summer with a farm share. Love getting involved in the agricultural community and feeding my family food that I know where it came from.
Soon2befab - My husband and I got married in Vegas over 5 years ago. We went through a company that arranged everything and we got married out in Red Rock Canyon. It was absolutley beautiful and I think all in all our total wedding cost us $3-4k (wedding stuff, hotel, air, food and gambling). I can let you know more if you are interested.

Stephanie...thanks for the suggestions....I'm making a list. If you think of any more let me know. (By the way did you have to kill my wedding excitement by mentioning Brittany Spears?! - Sorry, I'm not a fan of her music or her escapades)
Rotten - thanks for the info....I want the lights & neons....not the Canyon - thanks though.
Gotta jump in the shower & go BACK to work!

Soon - sorry about bringing up brittany lol! I am sure I can come up with a few more. Sad to say every vacation I have been one except my honeymoon since I was 18 has been to Vegas. I think you are around the same age as me (24) when you told us you were getting married in vegas it made me think of saved by the bell, when zach and kelly got married in vegas...

tomight my goal is 30 minutes on the treadmill and then to do a weight training class. I want to do a real good workout tonight. I missed the gym yesterday, so I have to make to make up for it.
I have been grazing today...mini frittata for breakfast...hummus and celery for snack and turkey chili for lunch. I am going to eat my other half of celery soon and then I am going to have a chicken stiry fry for dinner.
I am feeling good, but I can't wait until people start noticing the weight coming off. that will make me feel great!

Quick fly by to say hi. My grandfather passed away while I was in Orlando on vacation so relaxed it was not -- and my sister is 2cm dilated. So, I am busy, busy, busy! This is my first few days back to work since the 27th! I am just hoping my sister crosses her legs for another few days so I can make it a full week back!
Hope you are all well and healthy and loving the new year!

Jenn - so sorry to hear about your grandpa  That's exciting about your sister!
It's after 4 pm and I haven't gotten a single thing done today. I feel lousy! I seem to be coming down with a terrific head cold. I guess that could account for all the aches and pains and horrible headaches I've been having over the past few days. Why couldn't it have waited til after finals in March, though??

I'm sure it is the last post but I wanted to rave about my day. Spa day!!! :carrot: Wow, I've never done that for myself before, WHAT A TREAT!!!! Facial, mmmmm, massage..........ahhhhh, pedicure......you should see my cute toes. I recommend a spa day rather than falling off the beach towel!!!!! Day 10 of phase one is nearly over (all I have to do is go to bed with a good book)
I worked like a fool today to get my house spotless....it turned into more than I planned for. Cleaned top of the fridge, inside the fridge, 2 bathrooms, 3 loads of laundry, washed ALL my bedding, mopped vacuumed.......kitchen. I was truely an animal............I hope she'll come back to visit often;) Anyway, I barely got done in time to get to my appointment. Before I left the spa, I made an appointment for a facial for about 3 weeks from now. I'm going to get soooo spoiled!
I didn't get any exercise in today, but there's always tomorrow.
Well, I just got off the phone with my DH who's in Minnesota. I had to tell him how wonderful my day was...it was mean of me since he's in meetings all week long.
Well, hugs to all, hope you have a great day tomorrow!!!!
