Hello,

I think I've seen one or two of you over in the South Beach forums, where I've been hanging out since last August. While exploring the other 3FC forums, I noticed this one, so I thought I'd drop by and say "Hi!"

Since I'm not a regular, I won't post a bio, but just briefly - I'm 34 (nearly 35), a SAHM to a toddler, married 13 years, and taking distance learning classes online towards my degree. Between college and DS, I keep pretty busy! Since my son was born, I've wanted to become healthier - partly for my own sake, but also to be a good example for him (so as to hopefully break the cycle of growing up overweight, like I and my mother both did!).

I'm on the South Beach diet, and I like it a lot - when I'm a good girl and behave, I feel great. I do tend to resort to ice cream when I'm under pressure to meet a deadline in school, though!

Hi Heather! Thanks for dropping in on us! Keep up the good work. I hear ya' on wanting to be healthier for the kids. My boys are definitely going to be out-running me soon, if I don't get going.

When all three of my kids were riding bikes, I couldn't keep up. I was 256lbs and smoked 2 packs a day. I have since quit smoking and have lost 50lbs. Oh, I am still over 200lbs, but I can more than keep up with my active kids. I take them ice skating, swimming, and hiking. When we go bike riding now, they yell at me to slow down....it's great. I love to toss the football around with them too.

H-ko, I know what you mean about the schooling (I have no children). I am in my final semester of obtaining a duel BA and I will be taking 15 credit hours. Keep up the good work.
