Default A step in the right direction.....

Well, it is the new year ~ I'm a few days late starting the new year off right ~ but better late than never I guess.

I made better choices today, and walked. I know that's not much, but it is a start.

There are so many changes I need to make, but when I try to do it all at once, I get overwhelmed and before long I've messed up and given up.

Baby steps! You have a good start already and I think you're right to realize that pushing yourself to make ALL the changes you think you should do at the same time is really just setting yourself up for failure. I think just prioritizing them--maybe even having an actual list on the frig--of things that you are doing now and then maybe add one thing a week, or every other week. We're all making changes for life and we just have to make sure that our minds as well as our bodies adapt and it's not gonna be instantaneous!

Sometimes if it's eating 1 cookie instead of 3; or eating 3 instead of the whole bag , ya know? Just finding places where we can put the brakes on and give ourselves permission for the little slip-ups--just to know that doesn't mean "oh shoot, I give up"--instead it's an opportunity to shake ourselves off and keep on going.

You go girl!

Glynne..you just have to jump right back in, not put too much thought into it. Damn, I've "planned" a weightloss for 6 months before. Kept saying "On Monday.....". Hahaha. You walked and ate well today...that's a big accomplishment to me. Keep your chin up.

One change at a time always feels more doable, you'll get there! I once heard, one meal at a time. Which is always nice to keep in mind when you are eating chocolate for breakfast... c'mon.. am I the *only* one who has done this before??

Aimee-Guilty

Gayle-I second what everyone is saying, one step at a time. It is a lifetime change, so it will take some time.
