Whole wheat elbow macaroni? I get the Hodgson Mill brand. (If a grocery store around here only sells one whole wheat pasta, it's usually elbows.)

Yes, I think that I have seen that brand as well. Wait, I think I have some in the cabinet...nope, must have made that up.

I get all kinds of whole wheat pastas at the Bulk Barn. I think Catelli has elbows and fusilli in whole wheat too.

I can never spell it correctly. Tanya's spelling is correct and when you look at the website, it says it is whole grain. Here's the description for the elbows directly from the site.

A classic made even better because it’s 100% healthy whole wheat! Now you can indulge in traditional favorites like homemade macaroni and cheese while getting all the benefits of whole grain nutrition. Our Whole Wheat Elbow Macaroni is made exclusively from durum wheat flour, so you can enjoy your favorite macaroni pasta dishes

Why isn't the whole grain pasta, like Hodgson Mills, Core? I am confused. Isn't that brand listed in the CFC as Core?

I hate to push the issue, but I think you're wrong, Andrea.

I really want to let this go but the Terrier in me won't let me. I think you and/or your Leader may not be communicating.

Whole wheat pasta is Core but it must also be whole grain. If it is just made with whole wheat flour, it ISN'T Core. That's why only certain brands are Core, like Hodgson's Mills and Bella Terra. Barilla and some of the others are only made with whole wheat flour and, therefore, are NOT Core.

You and your Leader are absolutely correct that anything made with white flour (or even just whole wheat flour) are NOT Core. I'm not sure about your multi-grain comment. I think you'd have to look at the ingredient. If it was whole grain AND multi-grain, it MIGHT be Core.

Sorry guys! I know we don't like Core Police here but I just didn't want anyone to be confused like the lurkers who maybe won't/don't speak up. I PROMISE that I'm done now and off of my soap box. :o

No Vickie, it's okay. I think sometimes we have to keep hammering on things like this to get to the bottom. I understand why MULTI-grain wouldn't be Core because it could (possibly, but not necessarily) contain white flour.

Pasta isn't a trigger food for me by any means, let alone whole wheat pasta, so my general rule of thumb is this: white pasta isn't Core, brown pasta is. ;)

ok, all im saying is this and then im lettin it go:my leader said that in terms of pasta, whole wheat and multigrain pasta arent the same and that only the 100 percent wheat(not the multigrain ) is core.
