I haven't exercised today yet but plan too later. Today I had toast and cereal for breakfast, so far so good. I have my bottle of water planted beside me on my desk. How are you doing?

Hello Donna! Your email did work. I am new at this and I am pumped! I have been trying to get my weight tracker attched to my signature so I hope it takes. I have been on and off dieting for the past couple years and I have hit a point in my life that I need to take control. This site seems very wonderful, full of good people with encouraging words. I am a full time mother of three girls and a full time night college student. So I find it hard to fix fast meals on the run. Any advice would be good. I have dug out my weight watchers books and am starting that again. I also plan on going out to buy the Tony Little gazelle either today or tomorrow. Thanks for inviting me and good luck to everyone!

Hi Nicole, Glad you made it.
I haven't tried any diets in a long time. I just gave up. My dad always had us on some diet or another growing up. As I got older I just didn't want to go there. I'm looking at trying to eat better and portion control.
I find that if I plan my meals ahead of time, I have more control. But I keep forgetting or not find the time. I need to get on that bandwagon again. I also like to use my crockpot to cook, so I'll always have dinner at 5pm instead of 7pm. I find that hard.

I work outside the home full time and have two little boys plus I'm married. So just that keeps me so busy all the time. I'm trying to find time for me to get my exercise in and time to plan and prepare meals.

Another person I have email said they read all these nutrition books from the library. Guess what i"m going to do this weekend. I haven't been to the library in so long but what a great idea. I'm terrible at counting calories, reading labels and knowing what the good and bad fats are.

What sort of exercise does everyone do?

Hi Donna, just checking in. I've read so many books, I don't know which one to recommend to you. I remember really liking a book called "Thin tastes better" and also one called "Thin for life." I'll check up on the ones I've read in my library account so I can recommend a few more, I can't remember all of the titles! Oh, "The thin commandments" was a good one too. They are all full of good diet/exercise tips. One of those books has a great 'jump start' program, but I can't remember which. I've taken something from every book I've read, so read as many as you can. I read 1 or 2 a week. I'm reading one called Weight Loss that Lasts now and I just finished one called "Picture Perfect Weight Loss." I've got to go exercise now, but I'll email you tomorrow, because I can't think of anything else you asked, and I'll need to reread your emails. Happy thoughts :)

Hello everyone. I actually had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And I didn't snack on anything. I also called any and all fitness/exercise anything in the phone book. SO there are a couple places I am going to check out to go and workout. It is tooo hard to try to exercise with the little ones here. The best part is I can pay month to month and I don't have pay all that money if it is not for me. I called a friend of mine that is maybe sorta going to diet and exercise. We might do taebo at my house while our children play together. So I hope that works. My biggest goal today was going through my cookbooks and making a shopping list for two weeks worth of food. SO now I should be prepared and know what we are eating is good and no more oops tooo late to make something lets go out.:hun: So that is my day. I am making a good start I think.

It is tooo hard to try to exercise with the little ones here. .

I two have problems exercising when the little ones are around. They are either asking to use the dvd, climbing all over me or asking for something. I never get space to just exercise.

I try to do it in the mornings now, way before they get up. I've been up around 5:30 lately to do it. Makes for early nights but that's a sacrafice I was willing to make. It was hard at first but I remembered that I was a morning person, it's hard to remember that after having children! LOL!

The day went okay. I didn't manage to get in any exercise today beside some little stretches and crunches behind my desk at work. I ate okay but snacked too much and that damn fudge in the fridge keeps calling my name. I have to through all the Christmas leftovers out. I didn't have a pop today! Yahoo! I resisted and the cravings would pass after a few minutes. I'm proud of myself on that one. I also had a big salad with dinner, a small porkchop, baked potato with salsa and some broccoli. I feel like the day was alright except for the snacking. I'll have to work on that. I'm off to bed now, so I can get up early to exercise. Later.

Hey Everyone!
I am so excited for the new year! I am determined to stick with my diet so that I can lose all the extra weight in 2006!

Yesterday I stocked up on healthy food, and threw out the junk food... so today will be my first day of healthy eating. I have came to the conclusion that the reasons I have gained so much weight is from 1) I practically only eat high carb foods 2)I eat fast food nearly everyday 3) I drink mainly soda, and not nearly enough water... 4)I sit around way too much (I work online)

so... my goal is to, cut down my carb intake, no more fast food(unless I am on the road and have no other choice, but even then I will watch what I order), A lot more water in my diet... goodbye DR PEPPER... and last but not least... excercise... I am going to see about getting a membership at "Curves" so that I can do 30 minute work-outs every day... and when it gets warmer outside, I will start taking daily walks.

I plan to check in with you all at least once a week! But I will try for more...

Here are starting stats
Starting weight: 243
Jeans size: 20 (a snug 20 at that)
Measurements: I will get these soon
Long term goal: I would like to lose 90 lbs
Short term goal: to be under 200lbs in no specific time frame yet

Good luck ladies!
We can do this! I know we can!

Love, Kelli

Hello Everyone!
I got my Tony Little Gazelle bought and put together. So today I will start my exercise routine. I cleaned out my fridge and cupboards and threw out all those bad foods. My boyfriend and kids are not going to be happy, haha. I made a double batch of the weight watchers no point soup and had a wonderful supper. I did really well yesterday. I've noticed I dont drink as much water as needed. I just dont like water. I have been drinking alot of Sugar Free drink mix, like Crystal light, does that count? Boy I hope so.

Does anyone want to do a weekly weigh in? I thought maybe if we do it together it would keep us all motivated and on track.

It's great to see that everyone is starting off at a good start. Keep up the good work ladies. WE CAN DO THIS!

Does everyone have big plans for New Years? My boyfriend's sister is getting married so we will be out of town for the wedding.

My short term goal is to lose 12 pounds by Feb. 14th.
Maybe if I shoot for mini goals I will succeed. In the past I would lose weight to 230 and couldnt get under. My heighest weight was 262.5 last December.

Is anyone else following a diet plan, or just eating healthier and excercising?
Good luck ladies!

Nicole :)

Well, I woke up feeling terrible. Sore throat and sore body, I was up at 6am but stayed in bed as long as I could. Yet again no exercise. I just don't feel 100%. I showered, my hubby made breakfast and I'm at work now. Still feeling like I'm going to fall over. I may end up going home.

I've been drinking plenty of water. DH made me scrambled eggs(2eggs), 1 cup home hashbrowns, and 4 strips turkey bacon and I had some juice. My problem is when I'm sick, i have no problem eating, what is with that?

So I will try to check in later or tomorrow.

Anyone have plans for New Year's? Not us, we usually stay home and are in bed long before midnight.

Gosh! I'm a little bummed! I've been trying to eat right but I'm terrible with the snacking. I've managed to give it up at night but during the day I'm terrible.

So I thought I would use fitday.com, I used it years ago and so I started about a week ago. So yesterday I was at almost 3000 calories. Today with the breakfast dh made for me, I'm at 1200 already. This is so hard. Cereal from now on.

Hello Donna! Sorry to hear you don't feel that well this morning! Keep drinking those fluids!
On the flip side you lost a pound. Hooray!! Just remember.... All those one pounders add up to BIG pounds!

I found that if I portion out snacks in those little zip lock baggies it works really well for me. They could be brought to work or used at home.

I will also do weekly weigh ins on Friday. That day seems to work well for me. I will weigh in and let you know in a bit. Talk to you soon!!!

You know my library probably has totally different books. I'll have to check it out. I can probably access the library through work as well. Maybe I shoudl try finishing my Dr. Phil 7 Keys or whatever it is. I'm terrible with nonfiction books. I read tons of others though.
I'm not feeling great today, so I hope I feel well enough tomorrow to venture out of the house.

Hello everyone!!! Okay Today I can barely move!!! I went out grocery shopping like I wanted to. Of course I forgot my list so it didn't go as good as I wanted. But we went to Sams Club and I found the Billy Blanks Boot Camp box set including the Billy Bands for 34.95 So I said to my self can't hurt lets try it. I went over to K-mart and got two new pairs of shoes. One only for exercise and one for outdoor walks. Came home changed in to sweats, put my new shoes on, & poped that DVD in. I was ready to die. Billy is CRAZY!!! :drill: I was about 20 minutes into it when my life was saved by the phone. Now I couldn't just let it ring sooooo I had to take a break and talk to my friend. Now I won't lie I would of talk to any phone soliciter that happend to call me. Man is that hard!!! Now I can barely move. You know you are in trouble when a woman on the tape that weighs like 90# soaking wet is not doing it the way she was in the begining. So my plan is to restart on Monday like he suggest mon work out tue rest etc.... I will be doing little workouts this weekend to hopefully get my legs in workout shape. I will weigh in on Friday tooo. I think I have lost 1.6 pounds but I will wait till next Friday to weigh in. Billy promises you will see result in 7 days so lets see.:workout:

I need some workout like this. It sounds like it's tough and that's the thing to do as far as I'm concerned. Just take it nice and slow and stop when you have to. It is okay to stop and take a break between sets, that's what I do and have been told it also helps build muscle to do small reps.

I'm feeling okay today, still stuffed up but the achiness is gone. I did my 30 minutes of pilates this morning so
that was nice. Wh+
oops sorry, little one keeps grabbing the keyboard. Later

I still can't move as fast down stairs like I did two days ago... But I will be working out again tomorrow so we shall see. Oh and the price was only $28.42 I was looking at the wrong thing. So I am very proud of myself I love Diet Coke and I haven't had any for about a week. I have had the biggest headaches :headache: But I have taken some tylenol and I am doing okay. I was really craving diet coke and chocolate and a cheeseburger or anything bad for me today. I had a grapefruit and some water for breakfast and for lunch I had chicken and I did eat about 4 of my husbands fries.(cooked in the oven) So I guess I am doing okay.

I went to the gym yesterday, and rode the bike for 20 minutes, took a sauna, and swam a little.
Scheduled a training on the weights for today, and went to that. I didnt really get a work out because we didnt do a lot, except set the machines. But when i weighed i was down 2 lbs! lol. i know its water, probably from the shower, but who cares, its 2 lbs! going back tomorrow to actually use the weights! and yoga starts up again after the holiday break!

hitting the grocery store today, to get all the whole wheat stuff and some green vegies, we have eaten them all here.

I"m doing okay. I'm still battling this cold and feeling weak. Although yesterday I over did it. I went for a walk to mybrother. It's about 30mins into town, I pulled both boys in the sled, around 70 plus had my backpack on. I walked there and back with a visit inbetween. So I was wiped yesterday but still stayed up until midnight and read and watched a movie. Boys and hubby were in bed.
Eating has been a disaster for me. Snacking has been okay but portion. I had a huge steak yesterday, some veggies and kraft dinner for dinner.
This morning I had a bowl of cereal with 1% milk, 1 serving.
For lunch I made whole wheat pancakes but added choco chips. With scrabbled eggs and veggies mixed in. I lucked out though while cooking because all the chips dropped to the bottom and the first 1/2 of the batch had no chips in them, so I missed out on that just barely.
I'm trying to be upbeat about my eating and make a plan, I'll need more practice I think.

She had cornish hens, Potatoes, gravy, corn, greenbeans, Squash, olives, pickles, onions, deviled eggs, etc... I had about 1/2 of a cornish hen one spoon (big spoon) of potatoes a little gravy didn't even fill in the hole on the potatoes. And one slice of french bread with a little butter. THEN about 1hr later she brings out a apple pie, Blueberry pie, Cheesecake, Ice cream and says okay does anyone want dessert???? I am sooo pround of myself I said no thank you I am fine. Of course the hubby had a big piece of pie with ice cream and said do you want a bite. I said you are on the diet tooo you know. So I am very happy. I did have about two pieces of Chocolate when I got there but we don't have any chocolate in the house so I said two pieces can't hurt. Well actually 1 1/2 my daughter wanted some. So....:carrot::jig::cb::dancer:
Now I have to do Billy blanks boot camp tomorrow so I am talking to my muscles today to warn them of the coming pain and torture for tomorrow. Wish me luck!!!

Well its a new year and I am going to take control! I use to do Taebo with my cousin. I loved it! It is a tough workout and you'll feel it for days after. Dont worry the more you do it the easier it will get on your poor body!

don't worry that you cheated. It WAS new years afterall! Just as long as you get back on track after a day of cheating... you will be fine :)

I was actually told to allow myself one cheat day a week... that way you aren't totally depriving yourself of your favorite foods, and it's supposed to help you in the long run! So I've declared fridays as not only weigh day, but cheat day... I won't go overboard with the cheating, but I miss pizza a lot! lol

Oh and an update, I weighed myself today, because I was curious to see if I lost any weight yet, and I lost 10lbs since Thursday... that's 5 days... wow!!! I guess cutting down on carbs really helped me, I haven't even started exercising yet... but I can already see a small change in the way I look :)

I'm feeling better, finally. Still a little clogged but feeling good. I managed to do 1 mile Walk Away the Pounds this morning, even though I slept in. I felt good to finally exercise. I hope to do some pilates tonight and I hope I get to bed earlier tonight.

Eating has been good today, except for lunch, I did terrible. When I'm hungry I make terrible choices. I need to go shopping soon. Payday tomorrow, so I guess then.

So I will know if anything is going on there. But good news is that everything else is great!!! Now if my knees would stop crackling when I do the squats I will be great!!! So far the water intake is going great!! I didn't get a chance to do the workout today so I will do that tomorrow. I could do it now but the kids are in bed and trying everything they can to stay up. We'll I'm finally done my First Aid course. Boy does that stuff drag on but I can safe someone's life now if need be. I did this years ago but never renewed.

I weighed this morning but I didn't do it like I usually do. I do however weigh exactly the same as last week. I usually do mine first thing friday morning before I've eaten or showered. Usually after I exercise but this morning I forgot until after my shower, so I weighed myself right after my shower, fully clothed. I wonder if that made a difference. Oh well! I'll have to just have better week. I didn't exercise today though. I've been really tired lately, doing to bed early but not being able to wake up early like I usually do.

I did manage to walk 5miles this week and do 1 hour and 20 minutes of pilates from last Saturday. I will try to beat that this week. That is my mini goal to walk at least 7miles and do 2 hours pilates and at least 2 full body circuit from my trainer.

Today I've only managed to do about 30 crunches and 10 girlie pushups, behind my desk when it wasn't busy. My lunch hour is crazy everyday I rush home, nurse Mickey, eat lunch or pack it, take Kale to his preschool and go back to work. Or take them both to daycare is hubby is busy in the afternoon. It's kind of stressful but we can't afford to have them both in daycare full-time at the moment. Maybe in a month or two once we are caught up after me being on maternity leave.
So far I've done 1hr and 10 min of pilates this week. No walking though, have to work that in. I've been so very tired lately. I'm also trying to wean my son at night feeding, so he seems to be waking up more, weird!
Everyone, let me know how you are doing!

How is everyone? Check in please!
My eating is going okay, still need to do better. I'm trying to go by the Canadian FOod Guide and what my dietician recommended and as of right now, I only have 2 servings of fruits or veggies to eat. I don'tk now how I'm going to do that.
I did WATP- 2 mile with 2lb weights and stretchie band. I hope to do some pilates tonight.

hi, havent weighed this week yet, wont until saturday, but i am 5 lbs down total. will let you all know how i weigh on saturday.

gave in and had some tamale pie last night, omg it was good, but it blew my day out of the water, lol. oh well, i made it almost through my cycle time with just this one serious blow out, so i guess i am pretty happy about that.

i am making the gym at least a couple of times a week, and trying to up my water intake. slowly but surely, i keep saying. this is a lifetime change for me, so i guess if it takes me a while to get it ingrained, so be it. more important that it stick than if i do it all right away.

my bf said my butt was smaller. he seemed almost sad about it, lol!

c'mon ladies, keep in touch, we need each other, i know i need you and your support!

Way to go Jailene with how you are doing. Don't worry about the slip up but move on and forget it.LOL on the smaller butt and the boyfriend.
My hubby's the same way, my boobs are getting smaller and my butt and he's a little disappointed but he knows it's for my good health.

I'm doing alright. I wasn't feeling well today. I attempted 20 girlie pushups yesterday and now my muscles under my arms and towards my chest hurt like heck.
I did great with my eating today and drank alot of water but not my daily goal. I manage to do a 30 min pilates workout tonight. Tomorrows my weigh-in day. I'm a little worried because I'm developing muscle in my arms, legs and stomach and they say muscle weighs more than fat. So we'll see. I'll have to change something if this is the second week in a row that I don't lose.
Check in everyone. We need each other. Thanks jailene for checking in! Way to go!

Hey Ladies!
Hope everyone is doing well!
I know I am!

I did my 2nd week weigh-in today
I lost another 4 lbs!
so that makes my total so far at 14 lbs

I'm so happy that I found a diet that actually works for me
And I still haven't started exercising yet!
I really need to get to that soon!

I just knew I would lose weight on this diet though, because like I said when I first came on here, I thought my main problem with my weight was that I eat waaayyy too many carbs! Sure enough I was right, and I can't believe how fast the weight is melting off! My father told me I looked thinner... which is good that someone notices the change, I can't quite notice a change yet, except my pants do feel a little more comfortable and not as tight as they used to be.

now if I can only get into exercising...

So how is everyone else doing?
I just wanted to tell you all that I love knowing that I am not doing this alone, and that I have you girls to check in with every week. It helps keep me motivated!

Best wishes!

Okay, my week has been okay. I've overdone it in the exercise department on day and made me ill the next day. I've had lower water in take one day.

I did't make my goal. I only walked 2miles and did 1hour and 40 min of pilates but I did lose one pounds. i'm very happy. I've been at 273.8 and now I'm at 272.6. I was starting to get worried because I feel like I"m gaining muscle and things didn't seem to change all that much but 1lb probably wouldn't change too much! Anyway, I'm feeling good and hopefully tomorrow and this whole week will just get better.

Where are all my support buddies? Check in please. I'd like to know how you are doing.

I'll give a little update. I've been doing good eating wise. I've been so tired this last week and haven't really exercised. I've dong two workouts I think. I'm going to add more. But I have managed to get down to 271, I cheated and checked this morning instead of waiting until friday but I'll do my official weigh in that day.

Quick update:
Well when I did my weigh in I was at the same weight. It sucks. So I'm working harder this week to watch my eating and get in more cardio exercise. I'm doing good getting the pilates in. This will be an emotional week for me, so I'll have to watch my eating. My dad is having a triple bypass on Thursday, so I'm a little freaked out.
