Welcome to the challenge ladies.
Aren't smart ones great when your in a bind?? I take them to work when I don't feel like cooking a whole meal for myself.
Lets lose those pounds by V-day so we can buy ourselves something special to wear on the big night. That's my plan anyways.

Hello Ladies!
My name is Nicole. I'm new to the boards and have set a personal goal of 12 pounds by Valentines Day. Can I join the group for support? I started Weight Watchers on my own at home the other day. I would love to start back to the meetings but cant do so right now due to money. I'm hoping this website will give me the encouragement I seem to lack after I start losing. Everyone seems so nice and supportive.
Good luck ladies. :)

Good for you for following it on your own...well with us!!
To everyone else: What days do you weigh in??
I'm planning on weighing in on Mondays. So I will post my progress or lack of on this Monday. I haven't really been following the program, well Ok, I've been totally eating junk the past 2 days. I'm gonna start the new year off with WW and start my challenge Monday.

 yeah for the weight loose!
i dont weigh in until Monday.
I stayed on points yesterday. I also did the Jillian Michaels frontside DVD. It was hard.
I bought the lemon cakes from ww, they are only 1pt each i admit i had 2 of them plus fat free hot chocolate which is fine but my question is dont I need to stop that snacking? I mean is eating 2 ww cakes the same as eating 2 reg twinkies, not calorie wise but emotionally, I cant explain what I mean. :?:

duh weight lost! not loose, that how i want my pants to feel lol
Jaaaacki21
01-04-2006, 03:31 PM
bbbabe~I too am a WW cake lover. I could eat a whole box a day. I suppose it is the same as eating twinkies but you know that these are much better for you and a great substitute. So I would say as long as you are staying on track with points, eating your veggies, drinking water, etc. then a treat once a day is OK. JMO.
This is Day 2 of week 1. So far so good. I just did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Feeling pretty good right now. Congratulations to all the losers this week.
bbbabe, I know what you mean about whether or not to snack. For me, it's better if I snack on veggies. Even 1 pt. cakes can lead to 2 pts, then to 3 pts. Next thing you know the whole box is gone and no ponts for dinner.LOL

Just dont get down and keep the momentum. If you fall or even slide off the wagon - dont dwell on it - jump right back on.
I am also a WW cake lover - the lemon ones are awesome. I keep them handy when I want something sweet or just need an evening snack.
We can do this
bbbabe
01-04-2006, 03:50 PM
Thats what i had last night 2 lemon ones! they are so good. Plus for me i was so excited to be able to buy those and the chocolate muffins due to peanut allergies i dont buy anything that says may conatin peanuts or nuts.

Hi everyone!!! I'm sure I was in on this challenge but with company arriving for Christmas,.....I never got a chance to post. So the car just pulled away with my inlaws.....SO I'M BACK!!!! geez, I really missed popping in on this site. It was my daily fix...LOL. Those ww's cakes are awesome, my fave is the carrot cake!! yum yum. I can't have them as a staple in my pantry though, just can't have one! How is everyone's day going? I'm hoping to hit the gym after the whirlwind cleanup job and mega laundry today. Company is great, but nothing is as great as having your house back to normal.

I would love to join this challenge - I am fairly new here, but I will set my goal at 6 pounds for now. I would love to lose more, but I am pretty sure this is a reasonable goal for me to shoot for. I do weight watchers on my own (would love to join but we are straining with finances right now so it isn't doable) and weigh in on Wednesday. Currently I am focusing on exercise and watching portion size.
Good luck everyone!

I saw it but I can't believe how much they lost. Its crazy. I would love to know exactly what they eat and how they exercise daily. I know I am no where near as diligent as those people.
What does everyone else do for exercise and activity points? I need to hit the treadmill today and been putting it off. It helps to know other people exercise, too. OK, I better get going. Enough procrastination.
I missed the ending to Big Fat Loser. Which family won?

jackii I too am a everyday scale stepper, I need to break out of that habit.
I have gained 15 lbs since November, yes 15 lbs, while stepping onthe scale everyday. Like why do I bother if i didnt do anythng about it. However, this week I did not see any weight loss yet either and I havebeen doing something. And yes Logically I know I have only been doing this since Monday and Ishould not weigh myself everyday or expevt to see the scale down 10lbs in one day but I cant help myself.
Dena, I dont remember the families names, but the white family won. I was surprised at how much weight that mom lost. she was I believe in the `150's from 232
They work out for hours everyday. Did you see what the daughter said inher interview with the navy lady? she told her she has been working out for (i think) 3 hours every morning. that is insane I dont have that kind of time, ok I do ,I am a stay at home mom,but that would mean neglecting my 3yr old and the house. And no i am not waking up 3:30 in themorning so i can workout for 3 hours and beshowered and ready to get older kids up and ready for school. Plus I am too damn lazy. Guess I have ot chnage that mindset
I have the biggest winner fontside and backside dvd by Jillian. I just got it and I did the frontside on tuesday. It is hard, sheis nonstop no breaks and your heart rate is high the whole time. I rode the bike yesterday for 1/2 hour in the am and half hour at night.
what do you guys do?

Hi!! I am new to the ww board and i would love to join the Valentine's Day challenge. I cannot afford to attend the WW meeting so I am following from my home and my weigh ins are on Tuesdays. I have set my goal for 14lbs. I feel that is possible. I really need to keep up on the exercise since that is an area that I can find reasons to avoid. What does every one else do to keep themselves exercising??? Any ideas would help..

I gained 12 pounds since October 31st, so I know how you feel. I however didn't even have batteries in my scale so I wasn't keeping track. I'm figuring my bad eating is still catching up to me and hoping my body will jerk iteself into weight loss mode soon and I'll see a big drop. (yeah, right)
I'm a stay at home mom as well. The treadmill is in the basement, I pay the gym monthly but don't do much for exercise. My husband told me he'll buy me the new WW scale that measures body fat and how hydrated you are if I work out at the gym 8 days out of the next 14. That's do able.
However, I have been strength training for 2 days this week so far. I bought the book The Strength Training Bible for Women. Seems to be a good book. I just need to get some cardio going!!! Maybe next week so I can get my scale.
Well, I've been good for 4 days straight. It seems like a year. LOL That scale better show a loss! That's all I can say. For exercise today I did a Richard Simmons video and went on the treadmill for a half hour.
Jaaaacki, I hope you get your scale. We're rooting for you.
Bbbabe, great job on the exercise.
It sure is motivating to see everyone wotking at it. :)

Ok I have decided the only way I am going to do this is actually go to the meetings. I need the support. I have gone off and on and my hubby finally put his foot down. He bought me 10 weeks for $99 and said this is my last chance. He is not investing anymore money for my weight loss until I show him that I will stick to it. I hope posting on here is going to keep my motivated during the week. I weigh in on Saturday mornings. I will post what I lose. Hopefully lose. I am bad about weighing in everyday and found out that if the scale goes up so does my eating for the day because I get down and when it goes down I get all peppy. Weird? I truly believe that weight watchers is the best cause it is doable with my family and they have no choice to do it with me since I am the cook of the house. The portions are up to them but it is healthy food.
Does anyone else not like salad? I have to force myself to eat salad.

I'm down 2.6 tonight. But teeeechnically it should be more cuz i was wearing jeans, vs my yoga pants which i *thought* were in my bag, but they disapeared, so it was lil disapointing being .6 away for my 30 POUND STAR! knowing that it was just my jeans holding me back. And i know this for a fact - my jeans wi at .8 at home.....do ta do...i'm not that weird other members say they did that too!

Hi girls. I've been having a hard time since Monday's dentist appt. Turns out I was there much longer (3 hours) and barely made it home to crawl into bed. I did make the boys mac 'n cheese and some soft eggs for me as thats about all I could eat. Dh took care of them the rest of the night while I was in bed. Holy cow!!....3 days later, my jaw is still very tender....teeth are all right, and I get my perm. crowns in 2 weeks. Tuesday was a complete write off and I ate all the wrong foods.(one big giant carb fest) I was clearly turning to comfort foods since I was feeling so out of whack. Wednesday was a much better day, I had a balanced breakfast much better mini meals throughout the day. I have to get motivated to 'just do it' and feel better about myself. I think I need my own pep talk!!! lol Oh yeah,,,, I was also up 2 lbs on Monday.
I will do personals later, there are quite a bit posts to get caught up on but most seem to be on a roll and doing really well. Keep up those OP days!!!
Yesterday I went to a luncheon and skipped the croutons, pasta and dessert. You'd think I'd lose a lot more weight, but I only lost 1/2 a pound this week. Good thing I set my goal for 5 lbs. I knew I was a slow loser. Ok, time to exercise.
Angel eyes, hang in there. We've all been there with crazy food days. Congrats to you for losing 32 lbs. so far. I know you'll get right back to good eating habits.
Good luck, everyone.

Yes I do! (Because i've had a few myself) I sometimes find myself straying, ie: not journaling and eating out and not caring....or having an event, for example at a dinner party with just standing and munching on food all nite! Not a good plan.....so the next day, sometimes it takes a couple of days, i pick myself up and start fresh!! This usually means refocusing and asking myself what it is i really want to achieve....also finding new delicious recipes works well. I'll find something new i want to try, so i don't get bored, (i'm constantly changing things up) and go grocery shopping!! Woo hoo, i now love it and think of it as something fun, vs a chore.
A tip, i shop at produce stores, vs supermarkets for fresh fruit and veg, it seems more european to me. And just pick up dairy and the odd thing at the grocery store. I love bakeries and butchers, nothing like picking your own cut o'beef...Anyways, thats all i can think of for now, right now my 2 point peach and blueberry muffins are done and filling the house with the best smells! I gotta go have one now.... ta ta

Today's been a good day. I did a little shopping and was very surprized to see that I now fit some "Larges"....I was in shock actually!!! :yikes: My dilema (if you call it that?) was whether to buy a purple top in an XL and have it a bit big, or buy the same top in a L in a pretty butter colour and have it fit perfectly. The butter colour won out for a rock bottom clearance price of $7.00 !!! Decisions, decesions!!!! Famours Barr was having a 70% off sale with another 15% off as well. How could I go wrong? hehe...so I bought 3 more tops!!!
Anyone try Boca burgers? I LOVE THEM!!! Recently I have tried there Chik'n burger and their Soy Cheeseburgers. YUM YUM....I can't get enough of them. Thats my tip for the day. Have a good one.

Wow everyones seems to be doing so good!! You guys sure do motivate me to keep on track. I have my weigh in tomorrow and I can't wait. I have done so good this week and the did 30 min on the gazelle for 5 days this week. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but for me that is more than I would do in 6 months. I have found that after three days of being on track the rest has been easy. I can't wait to weigh in and let you know how tomorrow goes.

Hi everyone---i did not drop out--I was taken out --by the flu!! As I lay in bed for the last almost week, I kept thinking this wasn't the way I wanted to lose weight!! The funny thing is, I made my hubby take me to weigh in Fri, and I'd only dropped a pound. rats. Anyway, it's a pound closer to my goal, right? I'm almost recovered, but now my 13 yo is starting to cough. *sigh*
It helps so much to get hints and support here!! Have a great weekend!

Hello ladies. My name is Chrissy. I've been doing WW this time around since 12/29. I've lost a total of 9lbs so far:carrot:, but I'm thinking I've gained some back this week. Not sure why...Last week when I was really off program I lost 3lbs. This week I've been OP everyday, only going into my FPs once and my home scale says I've gained 5lbs. Kinda sad about that. Any thoughts on why that happened? I'm so confused. :( I was feeling really discouraged until I rediscovered this site while surfin' the 'net one day. I've just read all your posts and you've all inspired me. Is it too late to set a V-day goal? I'd like to lose 10lbs but I think I'll set my goal of 5lbs for now. Anyone got any meal ideas? I'm tired of Smart Ones, which, even though taste good, get old after a while. TIA for the support. :D

Good Morning!! :coffee: Sorry I've been MIA for awhile....dh has been on holidays and we've either been out doing things or he's been hogging the puter. :ink: Sounds like alot has been going on.....congratulations to the losers!! Ds has a birthday today and dh's is tommorow....HELP!!!....cake, cake and more cake!!! :hb: Thankfully ds wanted a DQ cake, so soft serve icecream is a bit more tolerable than cake with high fat icing!!!
Yesterday was a victory day for me as I was able to resist Krispy Kreme donuts that we brought to ds's classroom for snack. It wasn't so much the donuts, as to NOT eating while everyone else was eating. Some leftovers came home, and they sat on the counter for the longest while until it was dessert time at dinner. This was a huge victory since its the smell that hits you well before you actually open the box!!! :carrot:
Cryket.....You and me kiddo....2 weeks ago I had 2 crowns done and a filling and its still killing me AND I haven't even got the permanent crowns yet. Taking extrastrength tylenol repeatedly ....and still waking up every night due to the pain and throbbing. OVercooked pasta is still very painful to chew on the troubled side. :yikes: Hopefully you are feeling better now.
Have a fantastic weekend!!!

Well I survived ds's birthday yesterday with minimal damage. :carrot: I can't believe he's already 8 yo!!! Had his friends over for cake...(dq icecream cake) and presents and then without too much chaos, whisked them all off to see the new "Nanny McFee" movie!!! Really really cute!! HIghly reccomend it for the young kids. When we got back, it was here's your loot party bag...THANKS FOR COMING!!! hehe, thats the way I like'em. LOL
Today is day #2 of the birthday marathon.....its dh's day!!! :hb: He's not a sweet cake kinda guy, besides we still have left over icecream cake if he wants any, but we will go out for a nice bday dinner. Probably a steakhouse, since he LOVES his MEAT!!! I'll be okay today though, restaurants don't phase me anymore.....I get what I want(mostly grilled shrimp and side of veggies) almost everytime....I don't even look at what else is available. LOVE SHRIMP!!!

Hey ladies... mind if I join you?? I had WI last night and lost 2.6 to hit my Ground Hog's Day goal, so now I need another short-term goal and thought this would be perfect! I'm setting a goal of 4 pounds since it's 2 weeks away. I'd REALLY love to see the 190s again. It's been a while.
A little about me... Dh & are are getting ready to do IVF this spring. Our consult is March 8th and I'm in a mad dash to drop some much UNWANTED weight by then. Our actual procedure will be some time in April, so I'm working at getting as healthy as I can by then. Dh has to do an 8-week fitness challenge for a college class, so I told him I'd do that same. I'm joining the gym and dedicated my weekday nights to workingout. I also walk during lunch with my best friend (1 1/2 miles) and play broomball on Wednesday nights. My fear is that the doctor will tell me my weight could be a factor in getting a baby to stick for the long haul, so I'm trying to help that factor.
Otherwise... I look forward to cheering you all on for the next 2 weeks!

Hi Cryket....NOW YOU TELL ME!!!...lol This morning was supposed to be my permanent crown day but when I got there she said there was no way with all the pain I was (still) in that it could be done. Apparently the prep work 2 weeks ago, shocked the nerve and it started to die. She made a phone call to a specialist and within the hour I had an appt for a root canal!!! 9 needles later.....the pain was so intense, that's how many I needed......the root canal was done!!! HOLY COW!!! Child birth was easier!!! :yikes: Thanks , I hope you are feeling some relief now also.....btw....I did get some good meds to really knock me out tonight!! hehe....I just might sleep through the night tonight:D

I am having trouble getting the scale to budge so I am headed back to the gym for another workout...fifth day in a row. I have had so much good news this week that I have been watching what I put into my mouth but not as closly as I should, five days until weigh in so I am putting myself in check!

I have TOM, (anyone want him next? ) and I have been snacking!! I don't know whats going on.....yesterday I was bored and snacking too much....so I went to Kohl's for their 80% off clearance. I found some ADORABLE skirts and tops ranging from $2.00 -$5.00. I had a blast trying on some 14's !!! woohooo.....:yikes: can't believe it anyways, I came home and promptly had a candy bar. :?: Old habits die hard....I guess I thought that I had 'earned' it somehow. Now that made me mad.!!!:tantrum: I journaled it but it really pissed me off. I had gone to the gym and worked damn hard on the treadmill for a 760 calorie burn just to throw it away with a 300 calorie choc. bar!!! TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT!!! I still evened out with 1547 calories for the day, but?? TODAY IS A NEW DAY....and I'm feeling better. Just moving on to a better frame of mind. Sometimes I can justify almost anything. Today I'm wearing a really nice sweater that I'm embarrassed to say I've never even worn. I bought it about 5 years ago.....and it never fit...BUT IT DOES NOW!!! So thats my reminder today to eat OP and to think positive thoughts.

Jackie o Thank you~ No I dont feel hungry anymore~ I have been doing weight watchers since 01 but quit last summer and rejoined in October. I have been doing this for 16 weeks now. I find my stomache shrinking and not as hungry~ I make sure I get all my water in that helps. If I feel like i am getting hungry I go and find something to do~ I do a lot of cross-stitch and that helps me. Yes most veggies are no points. I eat alot of green beans and peas. Its hard for me at times cause I am not a big veggie person. I also try to find low point foods. I do lower points for breakfast and lunch and than I try to use most my points for dinner. If you need any help or any question feel free to ask me or leave me personal message here and I can email you
