100 lb. Club - Re-introducing and re-applying myself

12-28-2005, 01:08 AM
It's been a while since Ive been regularly posting on the board, and I see a ton of new faces so I wanted to re-introduce myself.

My name is Raelynn, I'm newly married, have a 5 1/2 year old daughter and live in Western Canada. I am a quality manager/reports analyst at a call center, so I have a desk job and lots of people around me who don't eat healthy - so that's been a big challenge for me.

I re-weighed in this morning and had a huge reality check when I saw the numbers on the scale. I am only 5 lbs away from being back at my heaviest ever! I'm feeling the difference in my clothes, my legs and back are starting to hurt again, I can't cross my legs - this really sucks! Especially since it's so noticeable to me because a few months ago I felt great.

Short-term goal is to get in as good of shape as I can before the softball season starts in May. A big longer-term - I want to be healthy to have another baby. I was a size 22 when I got pregnant with my daughter and I couldnt find any maternity clothes, so next time, I want to wear the cute tops and pants.

I can't wait to get (re-)aquainted with everyone! :)

Welcome home, Raelynn! We've missed you :D !

Woooo! Raelyn's back!

>>>does a little dance<<<

Have you been rollerblading? I guess not, I bet it's cold there. Softball season? Wow. You must be coordinated! I totally feel you with gaining weight. I realized this morning that I just don't FEEL good anymore. That's not a good sign.

12-28-2005, 01:41 PM
Welcome back Raelynn :) I don't think we've ever met though!! Hope to get a chance to get to know you!

12-28-2005, 06:00 PM
Hi Everyone! :)

Jessica - no rollerblading here. We have no snow, but the sidewalks and roads are covered in sand and little pebbles from the tiny bit of snow we did get a few weeks ago (it's all melted now, but the dirt would wreck the wheels on my skates). I can't wait to play ball - the one girl who was a total b**** this past year decided to go start her own team for next year, so I will feel much more comfortable playing (she used to throw balls at people as hard as she could, for absolutely no reason. my arms were black and blue because of her). I want to play in the outfield, so I have to strengthen my arms. :)

Welcome back Raelynn. It will be nice to have you back around here!

Love Amanda x

Hey, welcome back!! It's so good to see you here again.

12-29-2005, 01:35 AM
Welcome back!!

12-29-2005, 03:37 AM
Raelynn - So happy to see you! :) I myself have been very scarce around here too and am terrified to step on the scale as I've completely let myself go over the last 6 months. I think right now I'm at the highest I've ever been and need to step back into reality myself. Right now, I'm focused on getting myself organized to get on plan as of the 2nd. :) We used to be such a great support system for each other. Let's pick up where we left off...okay? We want to go on a vacation somewhere hot next year and I want to be comfortable to wear a bathing suit. I had a huge wakeup call this week when I went to do some boxing day shopping and was having to buy size 22 pants. That's the largest I've ever bought. I've always been a 18/20 at my highest weight. I'm at the point where I'm absolutely disgusted with myself and I just don't even know where to start....

12-29-2005, 12:26 PM
Thanks Amanda, Sheila and Tracy! :)

Celina - I'd be happy to be your support system! I can't get online nearly as much as I used to (or from work), but email works too. :) Are you planning your hot vacation in 2006 or 2007? We are planning to go back to Puerto Vallarta in April 2007, basically telling our friends that whoever wants to come, can come, so if this interests you, you should think about joining us. :) It's the same resort we've already been to, and it was phenominal. I had the same reality check when I was Boxing Day shopping - last year I was wearing a 14/16, and this year I had to buy 18/20. We can do it! :)

Good to see you back. Looks like you are off to a great start already.

12-29-2005, 12:43 PM
I have faith in both of you, Raelynn and Celina. I know you can do this. My best piece of advice for you is to build the habits first... pick one, even. I started with exercise and added the food changes after the exercise became a regular part of my routine. Then once you start seeing results, it gets a *lot* easier to keep going and to add in other good habits. Success breeds success; so much of this is a head game!

Hang in there. I know you can do it! :cheer:

12-29-2005, 12:44 PM
Thanks Howie and Jennifer! :) You both are so inspirational!

12-29-2005, 01:31 PM
Welcome back, Raelynn! 6 pounds gone already! :high:

HI Raelynn,
I see you replied to my "newbie" post therefore I wanted to stop in and say hi!! First off...you are beautiful!!!!!! I also really know what you mean about wanting to be slimmer before having another baby....I'm facing the same thing right now. I want to be at a healthy (hopefully at or near goal) weight before ttc baby number one. I know it is the best decision for me and for the baby. I'm with you too on on the maternity clothes thing though.....I want to be one of those cute little pregnant gals with the cute little maternity clothes...they really are making some very cute things these days. Anyways...I have been struggling with these last 40 pounds and I totally messed up during the holidays......uggggghhhh....I'm thinking the support here is just what i need :) Good luck to you....( I see you have already lost 6..awesome).....I hope to see you around lots and chat with you often....

12-30-2005, 04:56 PM
Thanks Dishy! :)

Olivia - thank you for the compliment! My 5 year-old daughter took that picture. :) Are you waiting to start TTC until you reach your goal? We aren't actively TTC but we aren't preventing either, so it could happen sooner lol. I weighed 256 (size 24) when I got pregnant with my daughter, but I had never exercised a day in my life. I weigh more now, but I am smaller (size 18) so that's a big positive. :) I'm glad to meet you!

12-30-2005, 06:24 PM
Hey Raelynn,
Well..in theory I'd like to wait until I reach goal (or close to it) before ttc but I don't know...I've been getting the baby bug a lot lately..lol. Over Christmas..I spent a lot of time with my new little nephew and my new little cousins....WOW...how fun!!!!! My plan...(and this might sound selfish) is to continue towards goal until the end of June...we have a big four day music festival to go to. I want to whoop it up as a skinny gal....(which includes drinking...eek)...I've just always wanted to be skinny at one of these things like the rest of my friends...am I making any sense? After Country Fest....we will start ttc full time. We have been trying off and on too....but I have pcos and endometriosis both of which may or may not hinder my ability to conceive. It's kind of bitter sweet in that respect....I'd like to wait a little longer....to lose the weight,etc...but I want to be a mom big time and i hope we don't run into fertility problems. My doctor is suggesting another clean up surgery for my endometriosis....so I may do that late this spring....then I'll be skinny and hopefully endo free for awhile...that hopefully will make things easier for us as far as ttc goes. Wow...thats' great that your in a size 18...I've just now gotten into 14's and i'm loving it!! I'd like to be an 8 someday...but who knows? I started out in a 22/24.....so i've come a long ways as far as that goes.

Ok..well..I better run. I think we will become great friends and I'm very happy and excited about that....everyone here has been soooooooo nice so far....it gives me new motivation. Ok...talk to you soon...

It's great to meet you. I look forward to getting to know you. I go to Edmonton once a year, my hubby's family is from there. I love Alberta. We hope to go again in April.

12-30-2005, 09:50 PM
Olivia - I can TOTALLY understand wanting to be skinny for a bit and live it up before TTC, and also being torn with not wanting to wait too long. I hope everything happens exactly as you want it to.

Donna - You are WAY braver than me to live in the Yukon. I am always threatening to leave Edmonton cause it's too cold here lol. Maybe someday we can have a mini-get together, as I am seeing more and more women on here from Alberta or closeby. :)

Hello to all! I too am from western Canada. I have a 4yr. old daughter. I've just joined this site and I am looking for some support. I would love to get to know you all and share this weight loss experience. I have all long way to go but I am eager to start. My D-date is Jan. 2nd (My hubby is treating me to prime rib and lobster tomorrow!) I am going to follow Dr. Phils plan and walking on the treadmill. I will be making 10lb. goals for myself. We have to start realistically I heard. :)

May we all be sucessful with our goals.
I look forward to meeting you all.

I was born and raised baby! Yet, a bonafide Yukoner. I think I'm used to the weather, it hardly phases me. My boys though are sure hating getting buddled up everyday. They'll get used to it ones a fall baby and the other's a winter baby.

That would be cool to have get together sometime. Take care

:welcome3: back, Raelynn!!!! :) :) :) :)

Everybody's comin' home after a brutal (food wise) holiday!!!
I'm just starting back full force today after a relaxed holiday season (and that goes back to October for our Thanksgiving )

Wow...we sure are getting a lot of Western Canadians lately!!! I'm as west as you can get...on Vancouver Island!

Dana - Wow Lady, have I ever missed you?! :) Alright, seriously can we please re-commit T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R! :)

And wow, you guys are right - there's a lot of us Canadians now.. I almost remember when it was just myself, Raelynn and Jillegal I think!

So, I go back to work on Wednesday. My commitment for tomorrow is to take down xmas decorations, clean and organize my "plan", then proceed to the grocery store to buy the food I need to get started! :)

01-02-2006, 05:33 PM
AHHH, I'm the only American in a sea of crazy canadians! hehe.. just kidding. I only WISH i were canadian. :)

Jessica, you're so sweet, thank you! You're totally part of the super chica support system. What is the Sonoma diet and how's it going for ya?

Celina, what's up?? When are you moving?
