I was getting ready to get billy's bootcamp and was wondering how good it is and does it burn a lot of calories?

I use the taebo bootcamp series and I absolutely LOVE it!! It's a fun workout and it really kicks your butt!! :) It'll burn calories really well too.. but I think it depends on your weight and everything. I don't know how to really tell it.

I would highly recommend it! I love the billy bands as well because it brings an extra something to the table! You will totally feel the workout the first time you do it!! :)

I LOVE Billy's Bootcamp and the resistance bands are awesome. I'm definitely already seeing a difference. Of course there is still fat on top but I can see and feel the muscles in my arms and legs. If you are looking for a kick butt exercise routine then this is the workout for you.

I really like the Boot Camps too - I've been doing Taebo for over 7 years and feel it with the bands even more. My favorite workouts though are the Fat Blasters.

well I did get the video and your right it does kick your butt. The only problem I have is that it is hard to do everything because I am short and heavy, but I did finish the video. I guess I can work my way up!

I understand kittiebabyh, especially when he does double time and picks up the pace. But when he does that, I just stay at the regular pace. For now that is too much for me but every workout I realize I do just a little more than the last workout.

Totally do what teahoney says... when you goes doubles.. just stay with the slower pace. I have to do that too!! :) It's been a little over a month and I'm JUST at the point where I can do the first 15 minutes without stopping!! haha You'll definately get better at it... just keep at it :)

Heck, there are some days I do the slower reps because they are going to fast & I've been doing Taebo for almost 8 years (February) - it just depends on my body that day! You have to listen to your body and not feel bad if you're not keeping up. YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING!!!!! It's a lot better then sitting on the couch and watching the workout!!! ;) LOL :) And believe it or not, you will get there sooner then you think.

:D I would like to thank yo all for posting about billy's bootcamp. After reading your postings I checked out overstock.com and they had a couple day of no shipping charges so I ordered the basic and ultimate bootcamp dvd's. Glad I did cause when I checked the site Friday they are totally gone:dizzy: !! They must be getting high ratings everywhere!

I have some interest in getting that as well. Will enjoy coming back here and maybe reading how ye all like it. :) I have a few older Taebo tapes and sometimes enjoy doing them.

I started doing Bootcamp about 5 months ago and let me tell you - those bands make a big difference. Yes, it hurts but you will get used to it!!! My arms are very muscular now and I haven't worked out in 5 years. I do Ultimate Bootcamp 3 times a week and another one of his DVD's "Get Ripped Advanced" twice a week. I can keep up with him but I cannot do the squat thrusts at all. I have tried and tried but just can't :( Anyone else having that issue?

I wanted to add - I have been doing it on and off for the past 5 months and have been consistent with it the past month.

Rozy, I can not do the squat thrusts either. It is good to know that I'm not the only one. Those suckers are hard. I'm looking forward to the day when I can finally do them.

I am noticing muscle in my arms and legs as well. Unfortunately with my weight, everyone else can't see it but as the fat leaves, I am happy knowing that nice muscles will appear. And I have only been doing the bootcamp for about six weeks. I can't wait to see what I'll look like after doing it five months.

I just started doing it, and it's true: you're butt shall be kicked. It's also fun. I never thought I'd say that about any exercise video, but it actually is. :)

It definitely develops your muscles and the good thing about that is - muscles burn more calories! Also my body is taking a different shape, and I am 200 lbs but look like im 170-180 instead. My BIG problem is my tendency to overeat and my love to sweets :( I am really working on portion control, it is hard for sure.

I do love the tae bo :D :D I feel a lot stronger and I can feel the muscles developing from doing it. I just wish the fat would go away so I can SEE the muscles there! :P

Rozy, you'll get where you think is this gonna be worth it? Eating.. or working the weight off? I haven't reached that point either though... still working on it and getting better!! Good luck!

We didn't get resistance bands with our set. Are they standard bands, or do I need to get Billy-specific?

Well, the Billy bands are the only ones that actually hook on your feet and hands and are two separate bands instead of one. For the exercises that he does, you need his specifically. When I first ordered the DVDs they said they had run out and sent me weight balls instead and the bands didn't show up until a few weeks later.

But I'd definitely call them and have them send you theirs. You can exercise without them until they come and that will give you time to get used to the workout.

i picked this up on a whim while i was at target, and i'm glad i did. i've only done the first disc two days now, and already my arms are less flabby. the first day i used the bands and only made it about half an hour (god, i'm out of shape) into the workout, which really saddened me, but i just couldn't bear it anymore. so today i went into it without the bands and made it all the way through. so i didn't miss the ab workout this time. i figure the next go around i'll try the bands again now that i know the moves a little bit better and i'm feeling stronger. i really love this workout.

HI jas, when I first started doing the workout I was so mad because I couldn't finish it. Now I can finish, with the bands, but I do have to stop a few times when it starts burning too much. But everyday I'm always flexing my muscles and making my brother feel them. I can't believe I actually have muscles.

Just curious, did they charge you extra for the weighted balls after you got the bands? Or did they just throw them in because they couldn't give you what you'd ordered? Thanks. :)

for the others that do the bootcamp on here, do you take the days off that billy suggests? or do you go ahead and do the workout on those days, or have another workout that's not so strenuous that you do? i'm just curious because i'm worried that with that many days off in the week this early, i'll fall off the wagon.

Amarantha - I didn't pay for the balls because they didn't give me what I ordered. So they sent a little note with it that said something to the effect that they were giving me the balls to hold me over until the bands came.

Jas - I never took the days off that he said for that exact same reason. I felt that I would fall off the wagon. So at first I did them 5 to 6 days a week but now I have Turbo Jam too so I alternate betwwen the two since TJ is more cardio while Billy is more strength training.

thanks for the info! i went ahead and did it again today, though not the entire way through since my legs and arms were just burning too much. but i got a good portion in and that puts my mind slightly more at ease. i'll have to check out turbo jam.
