Well, I bought more weeks...16 to be exact. But with the $3/week special it only cost me $48. We refigured the # of weeks at 1.5/week instead of 2/wk since that is what I'm averaging (with some cheating!). So I figure if I could be more POP, then I'll have a few weeks extra so I won't be stressed when I get close to my goal date. Now my new goal is 125. I don't know if it's achievable, but the center told me that whenever I reach a weight that I'm comfortable with, they can switch me over to stabilization. So I don't feel quite so much pressure now.
Sorry I'm rambling. The baby was up half the night and doing TO on top of being tired is leaving me pretty much worthless today.

Boy all of you were a chatty bunch since I left work yesterday.

I had the munchies REALLY bad last night. I ended up taking my last portions of the day and tried to eat them really slowly. I did cave and get a McD's ice cream cone. I figure over the next few days I just wont eat 100% of my starches (the cone is equal to 2 starches).

Since I had the hungry munchies last night I knew today would be a BAAAADDDD day too so I knew I had to plan my portions wisely to get the maximum filling power. I packed my lunch (pita, 8oz chicken and veggies, apple, sugar free jello) and planned my dinner around the munchies (large salad that I can slowly munch on). So far so good, but it's only 10am.

Congrats to all of you who did so well on TO! Here is to many more pounds gone in the new year!!

I woke up feeling so sick today, nauseas beyond belief and the other end too. Im not feeling like eating much today..is that gonna throw things off? Anyone knw which food groups you really shouldnt miss if youre not going to eat everything on program for a certain day? Blech:( I just gotta feel good enough to go out and get my new scale, WAH! mine tells me today that I am 130- LOL!

Did I tell you that my COD told me they WOULDNT sell me more weeks?! I wanted to cash in my $25 for it and she said no! I already have 7 more paid for and she thinks Ill get to 124 on that. Im averaging about 1.5/wk so it COULD happen. She said if I bought more then shes afraid Id use the extra weeks as a cushion to cheat. Dang..I went MONTHS without a SINGLE cheat and now that I came clean and told them I cheated all Xmas, they think I am not serious...oh well. Maybe shes right, but I cant pass up the $3/wk!!! Oh well, I guess if I dont get them know and I DONT get to goal (my date is right before Valentines Day) then Ill just have to pay more then. My friend is really concerned about me losing too much weight, which I think is ridiculous cos shes like a size 2 and 5'0" (and shes not the jealous type, she has been the most supportive of anyone though this, better than DH)...she made me promise to just do the 7 more weeks and be happy with wherever that gets me. Im just never satisfied.

Deets- Sorry you are not feeling well. I dont know if there are things to specifically eat or not. If I were you, I would probably cook up a big pot of OP soup to eat on all day, with some chicken or other protein in it. I would say that you should try to get your higher calorie things in, if possible. Hope you feel better soon!!

Hello! I hope everyone had a great holiday. I've been sick since Christmas, with some kind of nagging cold/cough thing. My son caught it as well, and my husband is hoping that he DOESN'T get it. I went to WI this morning, and FINALLY got my copy of the "maintaining for life food guide" that I should have gotten when I started maintenance. They've been backordered for quite a while. A friend of mine who goes to a different center somehow managed to get one (she tried to get another one for me, but by then her center was backordered as well). I've been using a photocopy of hers--it's nice to have my own real copy!

Happy New Year to everyone!

Thanks for all the great advice on the weight loss weeks! It can be complicated and confusing!

I am going back to the COD tomorrow for a "shot in the arm" before New Year's Eve!:) For once this month, I am looking forward to going. I may even buy some more JetStart if it isn't too pricey!:dizzy:

Shennie & Carmen - I totally agree about the music of today. I told my kids that I feel sorry for them because, growing up in the 70s, we had such great music. I wanted that 70s Time Life music collection for Christmas! I was listening to the pop station with my 10 year old just last week and 2 songs came on back to back that were just depressing. One was Kelly Clarkson's song that sounds like she's singing about how her father messed up her life. The next one was (I think Green Day?) singing about "I walk alone, I walk alone." That song, to me, sounds like someone crying out for God! I told DD that these people needed the Lord in their life because they were just too depressed! Of course, my kids listen to Christian radio most of the time...

Star - I agree with you - love these smilies!:bubbles:

Katie - Yes! I love the Mitford series. Father Tim is so charming and I have totally identified with so many things that have happened to him (and his wife). The difference in Father Tim is that he belongs to a denomination (Episcipol) that assigns him a church. Southern Baptists (which is what we are) are independent within our denomination and each church hires their own pastor. I believe that minister, reverend, and pastor are interchangeable and depend more on region and culture. When we were in SE Texas, DH was always called "Brother." Here, they call him "Pastor". And, the African-American members in all our churches have always called him "Reverend". He answers to any of it!:) And, the :chicken: recipe sounded great. Should we start a :chicken: thread??:D

Deets - the whole "too thin" has always struck me as odd, as though anyone has the right to decide for you - whether fat or thin. You know when enough is enough.

DS is still running fever. Thankfully, neither me nor oldest DD has fallen to being sick. Now, it is time to go make him a grilled cheese sandwich and chicken noodle soup! And....:chicken: for me!

Andi - that's funny about the music, simply because I'm a child of the 90's and IMO the music produced from about 1994 to 98 is some of the greatest ever...ha! I agree that it is going downhill quickly, though. One of the reasons I asked for an ipod for Xmas was so that I might never have to listen to the radio again...

Fiona, we have an 80s station that I am addicted to. They play some really good 70s and 90s stuff, too. I can't be bothered with "music" today. If Ashlee Simpson's album beat Stevie Wonder out during their debut week, that shows you people have NO TASTE so why bother.

Hi everyone. My, you have been busy.

I called the COD yesterday and signed up for $3/week that would take me through April, and told them that I wouldn't be starting until Monday, Jan 2nd. I have a bottle of TO and I asked if I should start with that, she agreed and also agreed to put me back to the Blue Plan. The Red Plan is just too much food, and I can't make 5+ hours of exercise every week as something always seems to come up. 4 hours is doable for me. I figure, if I have a week that I get more exercise in it could only benefit me, right!?

Julie: The cruise sounds awesome. I have been to Aruba and saw were the cruiselines stop, it's the prettiest part of Aruba. Right before Christmas I found a roll of film that has been sitting around for a while. Took it to Walmart with me and got the pictures developed. The pictures were from Aruba when we went in 1999. There were of Baby Beach, and the desert (ulgy) side of Aruba. TG the resorts and main city are on the opposite side of the island. DH and I were thinking of going to St Martin, but he hasn't decided yet. I'd go in a minute. Maybe I can talk him into going in February? Other than that, hoping to go to Myrtle Beach in May/June, and nothing else is planned.

Carm: Thanks for the kind words. I read what you wrote and took me a few minutes to figure out what EM stood for. LOL!

MostDetermined: How did you do with TO?

Wtxchick: You’’ll have to ask your center how they handle your weeks. I know that I need to buy more weeks at my center, and while they are only $3, I have to take avantage of it – I haven’t seen that price in a year. If I don’t need them, I can use them for stabilization so it won’t be a waste.

Others who use the LA Lites, they are on special this week. Supplements are too at -15% if your interested. No, I don’t work for LA but like others to know – I only buy the Lites on special since I didn’t do the bulkrate at the beginning.

Have other comments but not enough time to write more at this time.

Happy New Year’s to everyone. I’ll be back, but for those of you that are taking tomorrow off. Hugs to all!

I have to chime in on the music - I'm wondering if it's what you hear when you're between 5 and 15 - to me there is *no* other music than the 60's and 70's .. (Andi, I think I'm a little older than you) -- when I listen to it, I sort of feel like I'm at the right place. .I know the words, and I can try to sing along..(usually, no one hears me. .)

Julie - amazing...I think nothing beats 70s and some 80s stuff. BUT my very favorite is 70s soul. I also love roots reggae, southern gospel, acoustic guitar and piano jazz. I think I will start a music thread where we can expand on the subject some...

About the music, 60's, 70's & 80's for me.....
I started a Beatles fan club (local) when I was in my early teens. We painted the Beatles heads on white sweatshirts....lol
Cher was my idol, you know the hip hugger, bell bottoms.....
Then there was our great Motown music. I was in love with Smokey Robinson. Once I worked downtown in a grocery store, there was a shoe repair store right across the street and I had a view of it from the deli. Well low and behold, I spotted Smokey and his bodyguard going in there. I threw off my apron and ran across the street to meet him. He was really nice and invited me to a concert with back stage pass. AND that was probably the biggest thrill of my teens (I still have the card he signed for me that day).....
OKAY - TMI...lol

Mary- I think youre doing a smart thing with Eli. If he is positive about the move, then by all means, go forward! I swtiched my kids really late...LIKE THREE YEARS OLD late. I was always worried Id have little escapees running around in the middle of the night. I took cues from them and when potty training dictated, when to swtich them and once they were ready, I never had a problem. They stay in their beds/rooms and now that the older 2 are older they get themselves up and play quietly if I am still asleep and will get themselves dressed if I have laid their clothes out. More power to you! DEFINITELY a good move before baby:) Can you send Eli over here to vacuum? LOL!

Somehow my stomach bug went as fast as it came. Ive had a lite and a P,and D and I am fine. I took the kids to McDonalds for lunch...it takes so little to make my kids happy- they were in heaven as if I took them to Mars for lunch. I got my new scale too, I cant wait to play with it, tomorrow morning, that is! THANKS KATIE for the tip on the water weight..not a lot of scales register this. I didnt get yours cos I wanted .2 readings, not half pounds. I had a discount for Bed and Bath, so I got a freakin $50 scale..can you imagine?! I plan to get a lot of use out of it and have been digital-less for WAY too long now!

Well, Star, of course you still have it. . I love Motown, and I know more words to Cher's songs (from the 60's and 70's) than I usually admit. . .Oh and the BEATLES. . . I saved the magazine from when George Harrison passed away - I think it's Time. .

Carmen - I agree with you about 70's soul - I also like 70's rock - but some of that brings back such angsty memories for me, it's hard to listen to. .

yeah, some of the 90s power ballads bring back my teen angst.

Eli is in his big boy bed and he is not wanting to take his nap so he is sitting up and floating in and out of consciousness. I said "do you want to take a nap?" He said "NO!" "Do you want to be a good boy?" "No!" Then he broke down giggling. So sweet how he is finally getting some conversation skills.

Mary - Gbaby Dave is big on "NO-NO-NO" now and ofcourse he shakes his head full of blonde curls to add drama...lol I can just picture you in the nanny uniform....... I know my DDIL will do some things differently with the new baby. Like for one, rocking her to sleep everynight and the other letting her sleep with them until she's almost two. DDIL is a wonderful mother, I have no advice for her skills, she learned from gbaby Dave...
About Eli's vacuum, gbaby Jenna loved her cleaning toys too. GBDave likes the brush, hair blower and curling iron. To my DS's dislike, we think he's gonna be a famous hair dresser.....

:bravo: for Eli sleeping in the big boy bed. Mary, I know you were talking about potty training and Eli a while ago and the stuff I am reading is saying that when a new baby comes that helps the older sibling really get going so he won’t be associated with the “baby”. Plus since Eli is so highly developed it should be easy for you to get him to want to continue to be a big boy when the time comes.

Katie~ I know up here we use pastor, Rev. interchanged, but I did find out that a pastor has to have a church, well at least with us Northern Baptist  have you ever noticed that their aren’t any Northern Baptist and since our pastor is from the south, are we southern Baptists?

Ok I was born in ’79 and I still hate today’s music. Crazy about 70’s music…earth wind and fire, marvin gaye..etc. Love the 80’s and even early 90’s, but don’t care for much of the popular music since then. I love neo-soul and some R&B, love my gospel, and I do like the “new hip-hop type” gospel. But I listen to the “old people radio stations” as my son puts it and I listen to the gospel station every morning. DBF, DS and DSis (whose only 18) say I am the oldest 16 year old they have ever met. I do like some pop music too though so I am not that old.

Star~my son had a fascination with rollers for a while and high heel shoes!…tell DS he will grow out it.

Do you know I didn’t realize for almost 2 months that my scale measured in .2’s I just didn’t catch on until I realized I never have weighed a .5

I know it sounds crazy, but I had never even met a Pastor/ Father in my life until 2 years ago when I was working for an organization that was studying poverty, and I had an appointment to interview a clergyman. I was so nervous going because I did not know what to call him. When I got there I introduced myself and told the truth. "I'm sorry, I don't really know what to call you." He looked puzzled and said that him was John. I felt so weird calling him John. In my town, pretty much all we have are Bishops!

Shennie - I have always wondered if there were Northern Baptists!:D Of course, since there are Southern, Independent, & Missionary Baptists, why not?? Now, having a Northern Baptist pastor from the South...

Julie - You know, what you said about the angst listening to some music really struck me because I have felt that way, too. There are some songs that just take me back to certain times that I just don't want to have my mood altered by listening to them. Of course, in high school, there were always the songs you listened to to make you sad...:dizzy:

Star - Is it between the ages of 5 and 15 or music you listened to when you fell in love?? Or both?

I am having a hungry day today. :hungry: I know that is to be expected and I am not getting off track. I am weighing in the morning and I will be down and move that ticker!!

Does anyone know how much air popped popcorn I can eat, can't find it in the book.
Also what does it count for? 1 starch.
One more inquiry - how much 1/2 salt are you supposed to consume per day?
Is it 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon.

Thanks,

Moneek, from what I can gather (I don't do the bars), in order to get the rebate from LAWL, you must buy the Lites from them. Otherwise, they are not obligated, according to the contract, to refund your money. I would check to make sure. From what others around here have mentioned, e-bay is a dirty word to them!:p

Mary - potty training is a trip! My oldest two are 22 months apart, so I began to panic at the thought of two in diapers. However, oldest DD wasn't anywhere near ready at our first attempt. When DS appeared, it took a very short period of time. I suppose it was the "I'm not a baby" thing!

Hey, has the website here been acting strangely (slow to connect) or is it just from my location? :(

I got a question. When connection to this site from home I get taken to my previous post so I can pickup from where I left off (after setting my person settings on this site). Now, from my work PC, it takes me to the current posting and I have to back track. I can’t seem to find the setting on my work PC to make this site work like it does from my home PC. Not sure if it has something to do with my IE settings? Anyone know what I’m talking about and how to resolve it? :?:

Mary: I can see your Give a Damn is Busted! I know you were serious but you had me laughing when reading your post to your EMIL. Wow, she sure sounds like “the” ! Guess you're hoping she 'is' e-spying on your, huh?!

Sznn: Popcorn :corn: in not in my book?

To all, about music – I’m game for just about everything with the exception of rap – or whatever the new music is called. I love the piano music as in Elton John and Billy Joel, I like the Rolling Stones, Stephen Tyler, and Mobe. Guess the only music I don't like it rap or whatever they call the new music? They had a horrrible channel on at the gym yesterday it was driving me crazy (never happened before). Signs of aging I guess. LOL!

Fiona: Did you get the i-Pod you requested for Christmas? I want one too but didn’t ask Santa for one yet.

BOYERM: Congrats on making it to goal, for some reason I missed your post. I checked and your profile was empty. Just wonder what you started and ended at? Can you share. I’m looking forward to joining the ranks of maintainer in 2006. Congrats! :carrot: :cb: :hat: :dancer: :woo: :cheer:

I am sure that if you want to be technical.. the contract does not sy you must buy the bars from LAWL. I can't find mine right now, but I will look for it and tell you what it says. but they will get over it..just don't want to miss a sale. and you are loosing so who cares...way to go ont he loss so far.

have a busy day, off to drop off DBF's DM's Christmas present she was out of town and just got back anf I love watching her open presents. She is fromt eh south and she just has this genuine appreciative spirit. She was soo excited and humblked by the plain old christmas card we sent here, I can't wait to see her cry over the bracelet DS and I got her. (I am really thankful that I have a good relationship with her and am really looking forward to have her as a MIL more than I think have him as a DH;) )

at 9 I have a much needed hair appointment, it has been 2 month...can we say spilt ends?

but then after that we are trucking DS over to the other granparents for the wonderful 5 hour round trip and hopefully I can get the dinner and a movie DBF promised me durng our vacation week.

I am down an amazing 1.2 pounds this morning. Don't know how or why, but i was in the washroom alot yesterday so maybe I had extra water. so anyhow, I think I will probably be changing my February goal to a littlew lower, but I'll wait until Saturday to make an official desicision.

for all who are gone after today...have a blessed and prosperous new year. all the rest of you, I'll tell again tommorrow;)

Morning, chicks!

Happy New Years Eve Eve (as Shennie's DS would say) ..

Moneek -WTG on dropping another pound! check your contract. Unless it says that you must purchase the lites from your center, you should be covered -- I can't see that this would be true, since you don't have to WI at your sign-up center. . you're supposed to be able to WI at any LAWL place. Truthfully, I'm not sure I would have done them if I were doing this again from the start. . Except, it does sooth the sweet tooth.

Sy -I always use the button that says go to last unread, or something like that, so I'm no help to you.

Andi - I loved that Carry On My Wayward Son song -- it came out when I was either a junior or senior in highschool . . And Boston had their first big hit my senior year, too.

All this talk about scales -mine doesn't even do fractions - it is digital. . hmm, I've had it for about 10 years. . maybe I should get a new one?

Deets hope you feel better -- don't worry about the WI - eating too little for one day won't hurt, I think? You probably eat less on a TO day!

Tina - how tall are you? I think 125 is pretty skinny!

Peach - so you surpassed a Thursday! WTG!

Fiona - of course the BKS can come along -but you still have to pay your way --

Hmm, guess I'll start playing the lotto so we can have a 3FC LAWL reunion!

Gotta run - so more later -- hugs to all you chicks!

 Good Morning Everyone.

Sigh! Somehow I have gained 7 lbs in 6 days? What??? I look pregnant and all of my rings are supertight right now, and yesterday my shoes wouldn't fit right when I put them back on to go home (I have a heated footrest so I normally work in my socks - toasty!). But ANYWAY, I'm hoping that all of the TWELVE lbs I have put on since my birthday is water. Yeah right, well at least 5 of it. This is SOOO depressing. How can a person gain 12 lbs in 15 days? My eating has been off, yes, but I've been counting calories and it has not been THAT BAD. What is going on. TO here I come, like gangbusters.

Oh well, I hope you all have a great day. As for me, it's time to take down these blasted tickers. I'm officially in denial, chickies.

Tina- I'm 5'1 and my goal is set for 120 lbs, so that seems right to me. I can't even imagine what it will feel like to wear a 3/4. It has been nearly 10 years since I was that small! When I graduated high school I had to have a stomach surgery due to a muscular problem. It left my tummy the size of tennis ball, and I was unable to eat meat for about 6 months. Dropped down to 102 lbs, and even small womens clothes hung on me. So my freshman year of college I wore little girls 12-14 sizes. Man those were the days! I went to the Dr. for an ear infection and he accused me of being anorexic or on drugs. Me, anorexic? Ha ha ha, you ought to see me now Doc!!

Headed to COD. Will check in later!

Good morning chickies!

Today is a VERY good day, I got the stitches out of my thumb from my frozen hamburger patties incident last week!!!

My COD is closed until Monday so no weigh-ins until then. I'm feeling a bit bloated right now, my hands and feet are a little more puffy than usual. But I don't think salt is causing it (because I have not had much), I think its just a really bad day for my joints (they think I have rheumatoid arthritis I see the specialist on Tuesday). I will try to drink more water today to see if that helps at all.

To all of you wonderful chickies who got back on the wagon after Christmas I offer my congrats! Keep up the good work!!!

And to all of you wonderful chickes who have not gotten back on the wagon, you better hurry up because the longer you stay off, the harder it is to get back on. Hop back on and be a big loser!!

G'morning chicks...

I have to start my day off with a "DOH!" The spread at DH's aunt's house last night was FAN-TAB-U-LOUS - they ordered in Olive Garden!! - but I'm paying for it this morning. I told myself weeks ago that I was setting 218 as my line in the sand for holiday weight gain (which is actually DOWN four pounds from where I started the month, but up from my lowest weight for December), and this morning I crossed that line by .2, which means I absolutely cannot touch any of the massive amounts of leftovers they sent home with us! :tantrum: As it is we have last-minute plans to go out and have a drink or two tonight with a long-lost high school friend of DH's and his wife, so I have to plan for that as well. And don't forget that brunch tomorrow...I might as well just not eat today, don'tcha think?? Riiiiiiiight. ;) The relatives did send home an entire bowl of Olive Garden salad, I'll just eat that, with my own FF Italian dressing. :dizzy:

Sy - I did NOT get an ipod for Christmas, apparently everywhere around here was sold out by the time "Santa" (mom) went shopping three days before Xmas. (And dear mom, who is so technologically inept it's funny, keeps asking me, "I couldn't afford to get it AND some speakers, and what good is it without speakers?" ) But my b-day is in 7 weeks and she told me I should just forward it onto THAT list, so fingers crossed. And if worse comes to worst, I'll have enough money between Xmas and my birthday to just go get it myself. :)

Oh wow! I was just digging through a box of random crap from the old house, and I found a coupon for 100 free mp3's I didn't even know I had! Interesting that this should turn up just when we were having our big music discussion. Hmmm, how will I ever choose???

Alrighty chicks, I think DH has the driveway almost cleared so I should probably go get started on my day.

Try not to let it get you down. I gained 8.5 lbs over the 'holiday'. WI on Tues at a miserable 170.5 (had been down to 162). After being a good girl for 3 days, I am down to 164.5. Not quite there, but definitely better. I think most of it was salt and water intake...too much of one and very little of the other. Keep your chin up!

If she has access to the Internet, have her order it from apple.com. I ordered one for my son on 12/16 and it arrived on 12/20.

I'm looking forward to getting back on track on Monday - the New Year.

I haven't been too bad, still trying to watch what I eat (but not 100% OP) so that I'm not in shock when I get on the scale at the COD on Monday. Will start the week off doing TO - just like starting new again. I got a new TO sheet and the counselor pointed out that I can now have a Lite on TO. Like I would be excited about that? Money in their pockets. LOL!

Carm: I'm hoping that I'm not up too much from the last time I visited the COD. Up until that time, I gained 12 lbs in this past year of the 38 I lost from when I originally started. Yikes. I'm feeling it in my clothes, and like you said - even in my shoes. Never thought that weight would/could affect our shoe size - and so funny that it really does. Are you joining us in TO on Monday?

Fiona: Do you see any light at the end of the tunnel with all the 'eatting' events you have to attend? I would have to refuse some as I'd be too tempted. I just couldn't do it all. Will you be going back to the COD come the New Year?

Hey, where is Star today?

DestinyS8: What ever you do, get back on track. Same thing happened to me last Christmas and I haven't been able to go back to 159 since (and that is not even my goal). I think with having such a terrible year, I should be able do complete this task, and looking forward to struggling with maintenance. :^:

Julie: Never paid attention to that button, will check it out next time I checkin. Thanks chickie!

Hi Sy. Yeppers I will be doing TO on Monday and Tuesday, but I will be doing it from home. I feel like a stuffed pepper right now!

Mary - someone told me that during the funeral, the person acting most like a fool (sick with grief) is usually feeling guilty about something they did/said to the deceased that they shouldn't have, or about something they didn't do or say that they should have. Its a selfish reaction. Now, whenever I go to funerals I keep this idea in mind, and, sure enough... it seems to hold true. The one sibling who did the least for an ailling father or mother...the brother or sister who always argued with their siblings...etc. Interesting.

About your inlaws, you know I can relate. I hope you are able to heal and forgive them for being so ignorant and mean. Until you can, they will continue to hold power over you that they do not deserve. I'm undergoing my own healing process now with my own MIL. I know you feel that your MIL deserves respect due to your relationship with your DH, but she doesn't make or break your relationship with him, that much has already been proven. You don't owe any of them anything more than to be civil to them. If they can't be civil to you in return, you CAN effectively ignore them, or fight it out if you choose - but only once. Don't get caught up in their drama (a little late for that I know, but its all in the responses you give them). My mother gave me the best advice on dealing with my MIL when she said, "be kind to her but be cold, and be there for your husband because HE's the one who has to deal with her, not you."

Chickies,

I will not be back in the office until Wednesday, and my DSis is coming to town so I know I will not be logging on from home at all over the Holiday weekend. I have no idea when they will let us go home today (hopefully any minute now but who knows). So, here's my New Year's wish for you:

Dear LAWL Chickies,
I want to wish each and every one of you the most joy filled, prosperous year ever in 2006. May all the blessings you deserve be poured upon each of you and your loved ones.

Good Morning Chicks...

Carmen - First, let me say that you can give me advice anytime. You always know the right thing to say (smartie pants). Next, don't fret too much about the weight gain. You know what happened and you know what you have to do now. On the brite side, you will have plenty of good company.....lol

Mary - I posted on your stranger thread. All I can say is it's not fair, YOU deserve the best MIL (NOT the queen of the evil ones). I will adopt you as my DDIL and sweet wee-bo Eli deserves so much more.....

SY - I'm glad you did so good or not so bad, over the holidays - you are a better chick than me. Ofcourse that's not saying much right now since I shouldn't even be posting on this 'weightloss' thread....lol

Fiona - It is really hard to stay POP thru the holiday season, I give you shout-out for being very selective about when and when not to be POP right now. I'll see you and will be back POP on the second.....
Oh and ofcourse our BKS can go along, as long as you don't tell anyone what we do on our trip....lol
About your mom not being techno savvy. I got DH a DVD player for christmas but when I was telling the kids, I would say Portable DVD Monitor Thing... they corrected me after laughing at me......

Went to the foot doc yesterday. He said all looks really good, other than I must of been allergic to the stiches or tape. Anyhow he said I could now wear my regular shoe on surgery foot. I was so excited, about that as well as being able to take a bath. Anywho - there is no way that my foot will fit in my regular shoe, it's still too swollen. Thinking of going to Payless for a larger size of mules......I wonder how long this swelling will last?

Well have to run - hugs to all......

Well the dr said that I have whiplash yesterday... :( The dr gave me some muscle relaxers and inflamatory pain medication. I'm miserable. I have had a constant headache :headache: since the accident and two migraines since. I hope I start feeling better soon.

I not only got my wish of hitting the 25 pound loss mark, I lost 26 pounds total!!!!:carrot:

And, I decided to take advantage of the 20 boxes for $179 deal (I really do like the Lites). So the counselor asked if I wanted to use my $25 coupon for December and I told her that I skipped a week of WI, so I didn't earn it this month, so told me that she would give me 2 bottles of TO as a freebee and Have a Happy New Year!!!...How nice was that?

So I'm pretty happy today. What a good way to end off 2005 and start 2006!!!!!:woo: :woo: :cheer: :newyear:

Hi All,

I'm new to the board and this Sunday I will be starting LAWL for the first time. I'm excited, but nervous also. I really want to try and go well and hope I can get down the program with out any setbacks. I can't do the fast forward due to my high blood pressure and they didn't think it was wise, but told me once the BP goes down I can do the FF if I want to. I just lost my job, so I couldn't afford too many bars, so I will only eat one a day instead of two a day.

Would like to hear what you think of the program and for many of you that have lost a lot of weight is it all from being on LAWL?

Tina, you know they didnt mention the Lites sale to me?! Crazy! Thank goodness for your post, I was able to just call and get a 10 bulk, which for $99 is a steal. I really love the Lites too. Bravo again on the loss, you're tiny at 5'1. I'm 5'4 and have just 11 pounds to go, it seems like forever !

AND TO ALL THE CHICKS- A VERY HAPPY and HEALTHY NEW YEAR- thanks for all the support, this is a wonderful board!!!

Gamababa3: WELCOME!!! I have been doing this since the end of Oct. Not always POP and have lost as of today 14 lbs (this is my post holiday weight), my weight before the holidays was down 16.5 lbs.. I think the best I can say about the program is that it helps you to learn how to eat healthier, control portions and be committed to drinking water. You will find that when you eat 'off plan', you will notice...but if you go back on plan, the weight will come off. I weighed in on Tues having gained 8.5 lbs over the holidays. 3 days later, eating on plan and drinking all my water, I have 2.5 left. I feel confident that I will lose it by next week.

This is a great site with a lot of great people that will be here for you whether you are doing great or not so great. Let us know if we can be of any help. I am sure you have noticed that there are a bunch of people that have lost a ton of weight! They are an inpiration to us all.

DestinyS8, thanks for your welcome. You seem to be doing well with your weight loss I also wish you best with your loss. It seems like you know the program pretty well and what you need to do to continue to lose.

I was on a high protein low carb diet a few years ago and loss, but as soon as I started eating normal I gained it back again. I hope this program isn't like that one.

I really believe it is important to have the support and that is why I was so happy when I came across this web site this morning.

Thanks again and look forward to learning more about the others on this board and excited to see how I do my first week and what I will lose.

DestinyS8

Gamababa3: I think the beauty of this is that you are learning to eat a balanced diet...not denying yourself any one thing and over indulging in something else. Good luck to you. I hope we hear from you soon.

Gamababa3- welcome! The support of your center is also what makes this plan so easy to be successful with. I can call my counselors (and do!) anytime I want and they are very helpful with helping map out your plan with you. Ive been as heavy as 203 pounds (not counting pregnancy). I was on Atkins for awhile (back in the 90s when I actually was seen by Dr Atkins himself) and was on WW last year, when it just stopped working. I have never been as successful as I have on LAWL...the structure is key and when you stay OP, you will drop pounds fast. One warning...be ready to ditch your clothes, they wont fit for long!

Gamababa3
12-30-2005, 05:24 PM
Hi Deetsmom glad to hear you are using your counseling center as it should be used. I know most of us try to do it on our own and that is why we end up failing.

I also have tried WW and did ok, but nothing major. I think what I liked reading about LAWL is that they are there for you as little or as much as you need and I need that support.

I love the part about ditching the clothes as I wanted to buy some for the holidays and thought about the weight I want to lose and thought it best to hold off.

I hope that once I get to my first goal of 180 that I will know enough to continue you on to get down another 40lbs are so.

Do you eat the lites daily? I just lost my job and told them I can't afford to buy them on a regular basics. I purchased 5 boxes to last a month, but thought I'd only eat one a day to make them last a little longer. They are so expensive.

Gamababa3 :welcome: and congrats on a great choice.

LAWL is a great program. I haven't lost as many as most, but I have lost all of my weight on LAWL. I started in September.

I think someone else on here only does one a day because of cost too, overall it won't hurt I think. also there are plans without lites where you get more food if you would like to do those.

This program is so great that many of us have actually lowered our goals...how many diets have you heard of where people change their goals downward:D

also you can substitute lunas for your bars some days. you can get those from your local stores...but don't tell the center...shhh

Gamababa3
12-30-2005, 05:36 PM

I think you'll love LAWL, and I know you'll love all the support you'll receive here. These chicks have helped me tremendously!! Just knowing that when you're having a tough day, you can come here and get some inspiration is worth it's weight in gold.
I joined LAWL in Aug (for the second time...I had a baby in between). I have lost 26 pounds and 18 1/2 inches so far. I would have done better if I didn't let my hair down in Dec. However, with all the help the the center gives, even when I was "cheating", I was actually maintaining. I thought I was being bad and ended up only gaining 0.6 pounds. So basically this plan will become second nature to you after a while.
I was sooooo scared when I signed up this time. I felt like I was falling off the deep ended and wanted so bad to get back to my normal self. I didn't want to fail. But now I feel great, the counselors are fantastic, and again, this board is a Godsend!
Good luck and I look forward to getting to know you better. You're gonna do great!!!!!!!!;)

Went to COD today and was up .4. I'm not really upset about it though and I told my counselor that. I really, really believe that my body just had not finished registering the caloric damage done over the holidays.

However, the counselor wants me to do LA Express Saturday and Sunday substituting oranges for the Take Off Juice. She was so concerned that I would be upset and wants me to see a loss. However, I get cold sores from too much acid and 8 oranges in 2 days would definitely be too much acid! So, I won't be exercising that option! Anyway, I really believe that I'll lose by following the program.

We went to see Chronicles of Narnia this afternoon and it was wonderful!! You've got to go if you are at all thinking about it. I sat and munched popcorn :corn: but that is okay because my Tip cards say so! I figure that if I am going to do this program, I am going to do it right and use everything that is available to me. Otherwise, there is no lifestyle change. In fact, while in the center today, I was reading one of the articles which said that LA stood for "lifestyle adjustment." I'm thinking that is what it is all about for me!:)

It is time to make dinner because I am hungry!:hungry: Time to go cook some :chicken:

Hi Repo girl, I was sharing your reply with my husband and telling him how much weight and inches you have lost since Aug. Excellent job you've done. I'm really looking forward in starting and you guys have all made it more exciting for me to want to start. The center did tell me if I chose not to do the bars to let them know, so they could add more food in the program. I'll try them for a little while, but if I can't afford to buy any more then I have then I will have them add more food. I love sweets, so that is an area where they will help, till I learn the program. Looking forward in getting to know you more.

Andi~ you can also use 4oz of orange juice 4 times a day, but that is acidy too. Me, DS and DBF went to movies tonight too, I had popcorn too, but used my 2 starches and fat for it so hope I am ok, I am just finishing up my water for the day and will try to get in another 2 glasses and a glass of lemon water to get the extra sodium out because we also ate at applebees and I had steak and shrimp skewers.

Kaite~ DBF went to see it and loved it (so if the 30 year old child liked it, I’m sure your children will love it too) in all the previews I never heard about it being inappropriate for any age groups, so it should be ok

Gamababa3- if you do it without the lites you can get some extra starch added so you can have one for the LA snacks or ice cream to help with sweet tooth.

Happy New Years chicks!

I am in a food quadary today - none of my regular eats look appetizing. And I don't have any really *bad* food that looks good either. So I took a lesson from Shennie and had chicken and veg for breakfast.

I also want to send a BIG Thank You to all you chicks who've kept me as much POP as I was this year. . I did not make my goal, but I am 30 pounds lighter this New Years than I was last year. And my goal for 06 is to lose the last 35. (And to get back into regular exercise.)

Tina - Woohoo for that 26 pounds gone! I am DREAMING of being the weight you are now!

Hi Gamababa - and Welcome! About your question -yes, this go around, all the weight I've lost has been on LAWL - I started at 228.8 and on my home scale I'm at 178 - so that's just about 50 pounds! I agree that the big thing I've learned is 1) portion control and 2) eating a variety of food groups every day and maybe MOST IMPORTANT 3) - is that ONE day off plan is not the end of the diet. Interestingly, I've never told my center about 3FC - this is my place to vent when I'm not pleased with them, and it's like between girlfriends, ya know?

Andi - I saw the trailers for Narnia when I went to see Pride and Prejudice last month, and it looked wonderful. I loved the books. In fact, I like anything by CS Lewis. (Have you seen the movie Shadowlands? I've only caught part of it, but want to see the whole thing.) Also, instead of oranges, I've heard people subbing 1/8 of a cantaloupe? Less acid? I'm not an orange fan, so I try to remember stuff like this.

Mary - don't you consider us as your DSILs? I do!

About shoe size - I tend to lose weight from the outside in - hand/feet/face first - then it SLOWLY loses down to my hips. . :?:

Hi and Hugs to Deets, Shennie, Katie, Fiona, Sy, Bre, and Beanie (where the heck are you, Beanie?), Norissa, Peach, Star, Karen, Mary, Tina, Carmen, Britt, Michele, Andi. . sorry if I missed anyone from my 3FC family . .

Morning all! We went to Narnia with the kids last night, and it was wonderful! There was one part with the lion that I was afraid would upset my 4 year old. being that she is really sensitive about animals, so DH held her on his shoulder till that part was over. We loved it.

Julie- I'm so proud of you! Nearly 50 lbs is incredible. I can't wait to be in the 170's, so that I can buy a couple of new pairs of jeans.

I, too, want to thank all of the chicks on the board. Your support has meant more to me than that words can express. We do feel like family around here. Here's to an awesome 2006 where we all get to goal and stay there!!! Katie

Julie,
I also never told my center about these boards..who knows, maybe they can say that we give out too much info and it's causing them to lose money. It would be horrible if these boards were not here!!!

I'm also having a problem with food today. My family is going out to dinner this evening at a local restaurant. I knew this yesterday, so I made of list of what I would like to order and my counselor helped me plan my menu. I even wrote it in my book, planned for some wine (used all 3 of my fruits for that...yummm), so I know what I can eat until dinner and still stay on plan. Well, now that I'm limited on my food until this evening, I'm starving! I had a LA lite, I'm eating a yogurt now. I have 1P and 1V for lunch, then one more LA lite. It's only 11:30 and dinner is at 5:30 which will be more like 6:00 until we order and get our food. I'm sorry I'm babbling...I'm just hungry. Maybe I'll have a cup of coffee and that will help...UGGHHHH!!!:(

But on a brighter note, you girls are the best! You have been a true inspiration over these past few months and I look forward to getting to know you all better in 2006. Here's to a new year and us all making our goals TOGETHER and to help inspire all the new chicks that I'm sure will be joining us soon (I figure with New Year's resolutions the centers and these boards should be getting pretty busy):dizzy:

God bless you and all your families this coming year.
And if you're going out tonight, be safe!

I agree with not telling the COD about 3fatchicks! :ziplip: However, my dream is that LAWL would vamp up their own website. I know that WW and Jenny Craig both have message boards on their sites. My biggest criticism of LAWL is that they are so "sale" oriented. DD and I waited at our COD yesterday for 40 minutes. When we arrived, one counselor waved at us and got in her car and left (we arrived at 9:20am). The manager from the "home office" was on the phone the entire time and the other counselor was with 2 clients. DD and I laughed because we could hear snippets of "...bars are soy-based products that help firm up loose skin...celluway removes unwanted celllulite...:blah:.." We weren't seen until the other counselor arrived back at the center! One other client came in and left! Anyway, by the time we had left at 10:20am, the 2 women were still in with that counselor. Why see the clients who have paid when you can sell a mountain of Lites, supplements & snacks?? ;) Honestly, I don't blame her though. Her paycheck depended on that sale rather than clients like me who have only paid for the program and aren't continually buying the Lites. But, then again, that's exactly the problem. Okay, I'll get off my :soap: !!

We are having a lazy day around here. DD wants to go to a party we've been invited to, but DH wants to stay home tonight. He does have to preach tomorrow morning, so I imagine we'll stay home with a movie on DVD.

Have a Happy New Year everyone!!

Katie - I'm glad you liked the movie! DH and I were wondering if everyone saw the symbolism that we did? My favorite part of the movie was when Aslan held his army back and said, "This is Peter's fight." They were ready to help, but Peter had to fight it himself. It made me think about how God is standing right there, but allows us to fight some things (in His strength), but He is there in case we get into trouble. Oh well...I'm probably seeing more in it than is there, but it was great!

Julie - Yes, I've seen Shadowlands! DH and I saw that at the movie theater years ago and I cried like a baby! Also, have you tried warming up some low-sodium V-8 and eating it like a soup? DD says it always makes her hungries go away.

Shennie - My Tip card says 1/2 small bag of popcorn is 2 starches and 1 fat, so you should be fine.

Deets - Girl, you are tiny! Gives me motivation!:) This morning I was walking down the stairs imagining my jeans to be loose and baggy!:D

All you other chickies - have a good one!:newyear:

:newyear: To everyone!!

I had a great time in Scottsdale and my day in Mexico. I went and WI this morning and I'm down another 3.6 lbs :carrot: , I'm so happy that I lost well out of town. I'm home now and ready to lose more I hope.

Gambaba, I'm new here also and just joined LAWL 3 weeks ago and have lost a total of 11.4 lbs. Good Luck.

As of the music I love Christian Music my fav is Micheal W. Smith, also a 70's rock & roll fan.

Tonight we are haveing a few friends over as well as my kids. I think the teens out number us, but thats ok for I know they will all be safe here.

We saw Narnia on Christmas and was wonderful, There is alot of messages in the whole movie. I like the one best when the prof. is talking to the kids about believing Lucy, and not being able to see what she is believing but to still believe, just like we don't see God but we need to have faith in him daily.

Talk to everyone in 2006, thats for the support so far, I don't think I would of made it thourgh my trip to my moms in AZ with out it.

Gosh, aren't we all just getting sappy about this board with the year ending and all? You guys are why I have been able to lose 30 lbs before this pregnancy. You helped me to hopefully have an easier pregnancy and a healthier baby (Eli was born in meconium and I just know it was from my bp). That is the most important gift you could give me. I hope I have in some way returned the support. There have been times when I just absolutely wanted to cheat, but I wanted to be able to post a loss on here so I resisted the temptation. I would rather have y'all do all your :cp: for me!

Thanks!
Mary

Well, I am back from our Christmas with our family in Saskatchewan. I came home with a bunch of unwanted weight. I tried to "be good" but found that the sweet temptations finally won over. I know that many of you have already done TO since Christmas. I would like to as well, but don't want to spend the $ on the juice. Sheenie, did you say that you can do TO with OJ instead of the LAWL juice? Please let me know.

Tomorrow is a new year - I wish each and every one of you all the best in 2006!

I hope everyone has had a great holiday. I was down this week which SURPRISED me :cb: My goal this month is to start excising.:ebike: The one thing I feel I am lacking.

One quick question: I am 5' 6" and want to be 135 lbs. Does anyone have a idea ( I know everyone varies) about want size this will be? I haven't seen that weight since I had my first child - 14 years ago - and I can't remember. I would like to just think about getting there. I think it my help me stay on track.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE :carrot:
