Just a fast post before I go to the gym for my early morning workout. It feels good being in control again. I don't know if it is the supplement I am taking or just that things are starting to click, finally, but even with a real stressful night -- usually family type stuff that usually sends me directly to the refrigerator -- I not only kept OP but ate at the low end of my range, which is quite unusual for me. I hope I can keep this going.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and OP Friday!
06-29-2001, 05:04 AM
Myra, you're doing so well. I give you lots of credit going to the gym so early. Where did you buy that supplement? I'm interested in buying it.
Be back later:wave:
06-29-2001, 09:12 AM
At the local health food store. I'd check it out. It really seems to be helping me, both getting real sleep (I've been sleeping clear through the night, something I hadn't been doing for about a year) and being more in control of my eating.
06-29-2001, 05:00 PM
Myra, great job on the loss! :D You're doing very well, I'm glad for you. I feel badly that I've not been posting my journalling. I created some cool journal pages on Word that I placed in a binder, and I'm using that as my journal. I am too lazy to post all the days I've missed here! I'll get back on track here next week.
I almost started feeling out of control yesterday, but am over it. I have had a good day today, am working on getting in more water, it makes me feel full. Tomorrow will be a bit difficult, with the party, but that's life. I am in this for the long haul!
06-29-2001, 05:33 PM
Tomorrow is also going to be a challenge for me. It is my son's 16th birthday (where do the years go?). I'll let you know how that goes.
06-30-2001, 12:13 PM
Good Morning Ladies  ~ I've been hiding for a few days but I'm back now. Life has been busy both at home and work but today is the start of 5 days off!! YIPPEE!!! We took Monday and Tuesday off with the Wednesday holiday. We have no plans other than a pool party on Wednesday.
Work was busy this past week just getting ready to be out of the office for 3 days. Sheesh! Sometimes I think it's just not worth the time off.....NOT!!! :D:D
Congrats to all the "losers". Keep up the good work. I am going to go back and re-read all the posts since my brain didn't retain any of it. Sorry ~ that means I cannot respond to anything since I forget it all....oh, Happy 16th to your son Myra....hmmmm, what else....oh pooh! I'll go look. Have a wonderful Saturday you's guys. :D

Zoe, enjoy your days off. I will have 5 days starting Wed. since I'm off Fridays I took Thursday(vacation day). It goes by very fast so enjoy it while you can.
Myra, Happy Birthday to your boy or should I say Lil' Man;) There are so many birthdays in June between family & friends. My nephew's birthday is July 7th, after that we'll have a break thru August then back to birthdays & then the holidays.
Jen, it is an everyday struggle. Like you said, we're in this for the loooonnnnggggg haul & I mean LONG:lol: I have a hard time passing up the cake. The only time I don't have any is if there's strawberry or cherry filling.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everybody:wave:
It is so hot today!!!!! I'm staying inside with the AC.
07-01-2001, 06:30 AM
Pointwise at least, but I had to celebrate my son's 16th birthday, right? Thank God for activity and banked points.
We took Arthur out to a Japanese restaurant, which ended up being pretty good for me. I ate a lot of the points I spent. If it wasn't for dessert (I actually made a better choice than I could have; my DH was pushing the fried ice cream but I opted for green tea ice cream instead and only had one of the two scoops) and of course the birthday cake (I just took a sliver, or so I thought but when I weighed it and looked it up it came to a whopping 7 points, which was over double what I anticipated) I would have hardly gone over my points. Oh, well. I'm back on track today. We are going to the mall and eating out lunch but I'm going to opt for a very on-program veggie burger.
07-01-2001, 01:39 PM
Myra, Happy Birthday to Arthur! You sound as though you're staying focused, and are doing well. I'm so happy for you, I know you've struggled in the past.
Essie, Zoe, enjoy your mini vacations! Terri, how is yours going?
Matthew's 1st birthday party yesterday was a success. It was really hot, 91 degrees and humid, but everyone enjoyed themselves. Both of my sisters came out from the city, it was fun for the three of us to be together, which only happens once or twice a year! Matt enjoyed himself tremendously.....really attacked his piece of birthday cake!
Hi Dianne, Joyce
07-01-2001, 02:12 PM
Myra, I never made it to the Vitamin Shop. It was so hot yesterday I didn't feel like doing much of anything. I will get there eventually :) I never heard of fried ice cream & I am an ice cream lover! I never had Japanese food either. Where have I been, right? I went food shopping today & they had the Garden Burgers on sale. That's what I'm having for dinner. I've had them before.
FINALLY, one of my co-worker's found Skinny Cows!!! I've been looking all over for them. She's bringing them into work tomorrow. Can't wait to try one! They're 2 pts.!
Jen, so nice to spend time with your sisters. How far from the city are you? I love my sisters but I like seeing them only once in a while. They both have too many problems because of the bad choices they've made. They choose to stay miserable. I'm the youngest & they're always calling me with problems. Pete tells me I should tell them to stop complaining & do something about it, but I can't. I don't want to offend them. I'm happy to hear the party went well.
I'll be back tomorrow.
07-01-2001, 06:23 PM
Fried ice cream is absolutely marvelous but a points nightmare (probably a whole days worth!). It is vanilla ice cream that was super frozen covered with some kind of batter. It is quick deep fried so that the batter is browned by the ice cream is still solid and topped with chocolate syrup.
07-01-2001, 06:43 PM
We're about 20 miles northwest of Chicago, so it's not such a long ride. Those people who live in the city, however, act as though we live "in the boonies" I drove into the city every day to work for almost 7 years after we moved out here, and it isn't that bad!
I'm the middle sister, both of them have been divorced, the older one twice. I worked w/my younger sister for 18 years, we saw each other daily. My older sister was married to Joe's brother, that was her first marriage, he dumped her after 23 years and 6 daughters. I got the good brother! LOL
07-01-2001, 07:27 PM
Myra, that ice cream sounds delicious!! Maybe when I lose 20 lbs. I'll treat myself just once!
Jen, I worked with my sister for around 1 yr. She got me the job & she only lasted 1 yr. & July 7th is my 13th yr. anniversary with them. She has a very bad temper & you need alot of patience with the calls we get.
Looking forward to my 2 day work week :D
Have a goodnight
I was thinking of making my post colorful but forget it! Too much trouble:lol:
07-01-2001, 09:35 PM
Congrats Myra on the loss. If I missed anyone let me know.
Congrats also on Arthur's birthday and Matthew's. Hope they were great. They years go fast.
I tried a skinny cow, finally. Our Kroger's has one here. YEAH! They were good. My kids said finally. They enjoyed them.
We will be back home around Friday. I'll be glad to relax. We have done something everyday. It has been fun. I skimmed over the messages and read more in depth when I get home. Have a great week. Congrats to all of you.
Luv ya all!

Hello my buddies
Myra - congrats on your son's birthday
Jen - Glad to hear Matthew's first birthday party was a success and that you got to see your sisters.
Terri - Great that you are enjoying your vacation.
Essie - Skinny cows are great! I love em. I also found these icecream pops, you know with the chocolate on the outside and vanilla inside? They are call Banjo and they cost 25 cents and they are 3 pts! I buy 12 at a time and put them in freezer. Satisfies my chocolate urge big time.
Well, I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow for 1 week. Don't know if I'll have a chance to get back here before I leave. Still haven't packed! I'm such a procrastinator! I won't have access to a computer in Florida so I'll see you guys in about 8 days from now. Have a great 4th of July everyone (and safe, of course).
07-02-2001, 09:16 AM
Have a great vacation, Dianne!
07-02-2001, 07:57 PM
Don't have time to post right now.
Dianne, I want to wish you a safe trip & have a great time buddy ;)
07-03-2001, 10:09 AM
Dianne, I'm late in wishing you a great trip and a great time...enjoy!!
Wow this week is flying by. What is everyone doing for the 4th?
We were to have gone to the Taste of Chicago yesterday, Joe took the day off, but isn't feeling well. He's battling a nasty cold/flu. If he feels better we'll go tomorrow.
Hope everyone's fine.
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! ! !
07-03-2001, 12:50 PM
Hello ladies  ~ I know I've been scarce but with this mini vacation, I've been getting some things done. I just wanted to tell y'all to have a great holiday and stay safe (as well as OP....:D....)
We will be going to a pool party and I'm still hunting for something that can be called a bathing suit. I haven't worn one in YEARS! Anyway, have a great 4th of July and I'll talk to you's on Thursday......
Patti ~ on my weigh......
07-03-2001, 09:35 PM
Hi everyone, hope everyone is having a great 4th of July!
I have been scarce like Zoe (although I think she's been around more than me). We have been working in the garden, yard and on our fish. Not to mention this has been the year for everything to break. We've replaced a microwave, weed eater (gas powered), 27" TV & last week was the coffee pot. I'm waiting for what's next! :(
Tonight was weigh in I lost 1.6 and 2.2 last week , so I'm back in the swing of things after a period of struggling. I've lost 8.4 in 13 weeks which averages .65 per week. Not complaining as long as the scale is going down. If I would journal and stay focused I could probably average 1.5 - 2.0 per week. But I cheat! :nono:
Zoe - Let me know where you find a bathing suit. I have not been in one for 4 years! My daughter & boyfriend want us to take them to the lake with the boat. I would love to find something to wear under my shorts or something flattering If there is such a thing for someone over 200 lbs) .
Diane - Hope you have a great time in Florida!
Myra - Sounds like the 5HTP is working for you. Keep up the good work. It would be worth it for me if it would help me sleep all night.
Jen - Sorry to hear about Joe. Hope he feels better soon. Maybe you'll could do something later to make up for not getting to the Taste of Chicago.
Essie - I live in Texas but the Wal-mart stores here started carrying the Skinny Cows. Do you have a Wal-Mart there? There is also a peanut butter one that is 3 pts. Great stuff!
Happy birthday to Matthew and to Myra's son!!!
Have a great 4th of July everyone. Hello to anyone I missed.
07-04-2001, 07:05 AM
Joyce, glad to have you back:) Someone told me about the Skinny Cows in Walmart. My son lives 3 minutes away from Walmart. I'm going by his house today but they'll probably be closing early for the holiday. I'll check it out. You're doing very well with weight loss. I always say a loss is a loss, even if it's a little one. It's added up to 8.4 which I think is awesome. I'm still pretty much the same-170:rolleyes: but I'm not gaining. As soon as the summer is over I'm rejoining. Right now my support is eDiets ,3fc's which is my favorite, & the ww's website. This group has helped me more than words can say. I LOVE YOU GUYS :D
Zoey. I like the sound of that, glad to hear from you too. I hope you found a bathing suit. I have 2 but I haven't been to the beach yet. My sister & nephew have a pool but I'm still too embarrassed to put on a bathing suit. My husband says I look fine but it's just me.:o Have a great time.
Jen, poor Joe :( I hope he feels better real soon. Be careful you don't get it. Pete had a nasty cold a couple of months ago & thank God I didn't get it. I hardly ever catch a cold.
It's so cloudy today. I'm planning to go to my son's house today for a barbecue but if this keeps up like this I'll just cook at home & bring it over. I'll get to see my nephew at the same time. He's like a son. His little boy is adorable!! Reminds me of him when he was that age. We're having chicken, turkey burgers & pasta salad. Maybe I'll pick up some doughnuts or something but FOR THEM!! I'll be strong.
Dianne, Terri, Myra, have a great one:wave:
07-04-2001, 07:42 AM
Joyce, good to hear from you, and that you're posting losses! I personally suffer from an "all or nothing" type of dieting, whereas you are going slow and steady. Congrats. Hate to think of having to replace all that stuff.....coffeepot would be the worst! LOL
Patti, good luck w/the suit search. My brother has a pool; I've got a key to his house and can go whenever. I wear a suit with shorts(nylon w/drawstring) over it, as my thighs are......well.......let's not even go there!
Essie, Skinny Cows are so good! The grocery stores here carry them, at 4.99 a pack. When they were on sale, they had them buy one get one free, which was great. I've never tried the peanut butter. The strawberry ones are my favorite.
Terri, glad to hear you've been having a good time.
Myra, Hi!
Our town's parade is at 6 p.m., followed by fireworks. I love this day. We are blessed to live in this country!
07-04-2001, 08:56 AM
I'm just hoping that the weather holds out for the fireworks tonight. Rain is forecast. What a bummer for the fourth. But I'm just going to enjoy not working and being with my family.
07-05-2001, 02:33 PM
Hi  everyone!
Sounds like everyone planned a great 4th with their families.
I just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone.
For those of you looking for the skinny cows .. at our WW meeting last week someone said that since the skinny cows are so expensive they take 1 sheet chocolate graham crackers broke in half and fill with @ 1/2c fat free cool whip and freeze. Everyone says they taste as good or better than the skinny cows and the points are about the same (maybe a little less). I have not tried them yet but I definately want to.
Well I've got to go. Have a great day everyone.
07-05-2001, 02:40 PM
I'm off to my meeting in another two hours or so. Wish me luck! I did well except for my son's birthday on Saturday. I hope that didn't do too much damage.
07-05-2001, 03:41 PM
I forgot yesterday was Wednesday, weigh in day.....I stayed exactly the same...219.5 Yikes! All the hard work for the first 3 days was totally blown away by my letting go for the remainder of the week. No loss, serves me right
Here's to a better week!
07-05-2001, 05:53 PM
Myra, I was out shopping with my son & I found the 5-HTP. I bought it for $8 & change. I'll let you know what I think. I guess I'll give it a week.
Jen, at least you stayed the same. I had an "off program day" today. I was out all day with my son & we decided to go to the chinese buffet. I didn't go overboard.
Joyce, I was at Walmart today but couldn't check to see if they had the Skinny Cows cause I wasn't coming back home right away & they would have melted. WW recipe sounds good. If I don't find them I'll try it.
Have a good evening everybody
07-05-2001, 07:44 PM
I weighed in today and lost .8 lb., which actually isn' t so bad considering the kind of day that I had Saturday. Hopefully I will have a better loss next week.
07-05-2001, 11:41 PM
Hi ladies , just checking in for a moment. My daughter Jenna is here for a visit but I wanted to read the posts and leave a short note. Not very busy here lately.......................have a great Friday.
07-06-2001, 12:43 PM
Hi all! I am home. YEAH! I miss the family but is is great to be home. We stayed over in Nashville (90 miles from home) for the 4th. We stayed at the Opryland Hotel. It is huge. the 3rd largest in the world. It was nice.
Congrats Joyce on your losses. That is great!
I am glad to hear everyone had a great 4th. I missed y'all/.
I finally found skinny cows in Ohio. They were at my mom's Kroger.
They were GOOD!
I make the chocolate graham crackers an cool whip. MMMMmmmm! The kids love them.
Well, talk more later. Going to see Dr. Dolittle 2 in a few minutes.
Haven't weighed yet. Waiting for Sat. I am being strong.
