Hi BOB--Thanks for your input re. my dd. You're right and I will have to suck it up. If she cannot learn to apologize, her poor husb. will have a rough time of it.
The game was great. It's always great to beat our cross-state hated rival. There have been fights before at that game. The semis were losing and getting mad and so punches were thrown. The refs had to get control of the guys, so they ejected both players. It wasn't much really and I have seen worse. Everyone was sad that the semis even scored. It would have been great to give them a bagel. Beating FSU is always a huge win for us because we just don't like those guys, but beating a certain other team in the great state of Georgia is always more important to the Gators.
We got back from Gainesville this afternoon. The traffic was going 25 mph on I-75 so we got off and went the back roads to Orlando. For anyone travelling, I hope it was easier than that for you.
I am up very late, so will sign off and "see" everyone tomorrow. I have to go get my blood drawn for my yearly phys.

Hey Ladies. Sorry I've been MIA. The last week has been really crazy. Travis went out of town this morning and won't be back until Friday.
Eating wasn't 100% legal, but I didn't stuff myself either. I'm already starting to get heartburn. YUck. It's the weirdest thing. I've never had it in my life except when I am pregnant. Seems pretty early this time. No more onions for me.

Good Morning! We need some challenges!
CHALLENGES:
1. Drink at least 10 glasses of water a day this week.
2. Pick one problem food for you. Ponder why it tempts you, and come up with a game plan to avoid letting the temptation derail you.
Lets make this the best week ever! :carrot:

Good morning, Sugarbustin' buddies! Its back to normal today. :( After having two weeks off, Tom went back to work. Laura quit her job yesterday. I think I am going to enjoy the routine again.
I picked the challenges because I know I really need to get back on track with drinking water. I have been bad about drinking any lately, and I think it has hindered my weight loss, and created other problems. Believe it or not, I think I sleep better when properly hydrated.
I will go first on the second challenge. Potatoes. I LOVE potatoes. I like them just about any way they can be fixed. The obvious way to handle the temptation is to never buy potatoes. But if I go someplace, there they are, and they somehow end up on my plate! My game plan is going to be to avoid all starches when eating out. If I tell Tom that I am going to do this, he will remember and if I start to falter, he will remind me that I am not eating starches. If he is NOT with me, he might ask, which makes me want to show him I can do it on my own, so that will help too. At home, I will just not buy potatoes. I have some left from the hugiant bag I bought with Talitha at the market, but they are in the garage..hopefully out of sight out of mind. :)
I am going to go fix some hot tea, and will be back later, when there is hopefully someone to 'talk' to! :)

Good morning- real quick update on me. My mom just had another small stroke yesterday- she is doing ok- her speech is really affected and her left side right now. She gets a bit confused when talking about things that are happening in the present, but her memory seems good. Could everyone please keep her in your prayers? She is having a doppler on her carotid arteries today to see if there is any blockage, and an echocardiogram for her heart, because her heart rate has been up real high. They are having trouble getting her blood pressure down as well. Soooo... I'm not sure how much I'll be on this week- I may be on a lot to get my mind off things and feel "grounded", or because of time, may not be on much. Just have to take it day by day.
I DO want to chime in with the challenges. I drink way to much coffee. I would like to start cutting back on it and replacing it with water. Its hard in the winter when it is so cold, but last year I drank hot water and lemon. That was good. I will try that again.
Hmmm... Problem food- do I have to pick just ONE???:dizzy: I guess mine would have to be BREAD. I was raised in a home where bread was served with EVERY meal, and we always had sandwiches for lunch. The more I learn, the more I know that I can't have 2 pieces of toast for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, and then some more starchy stuff for dinner and not excpect it to catch up with me. I am working on substituting different things for lunch and breakfast, to eliminate the amount of bread that I eat.
OK all, I am going to cuddle up with my 4 yr old. Nothing takes your worries away more than that. I'll try to check back later. You guys have become my buddies and it helps just to know someone's there!!! Thanx, MUNCH

Good Monday Morning!!!!
It sounds as if everyone survived the Thanksgiving holiday. Ours was wonderful! Disneyland was sooooo busy, but the girls had a ball. They got 17 autographs from the characters and princesses. The weather was chilly in the mornings and evenings, but the days warmed up nicely. The holiday parade really got me in the spirit for Christmas, and the fireworks presentation was out of this world. I was not legal with my eating, but did better than I would have if I was home eating T-giving dinner. I mean how often can you have a banana and churro for BF? (ha)!
We got home Saturday afternoon and got out all of our holiday decorations. We got our tree set up and my DH was going to get the lights on so the girls and I could finish decorating it Sunday. Well, a few of our strands of lights were out, so he ran to Wal-Mart to get some more. He then blew a fuse/circuit, and had to start all over. He still did not have enough to finish, and didn't get to bed until 2 a.m. When the girls woke up, we ran out to Wal-Mart to get some more lights and to let him sleep in. We then finished the tree yesterday. I also cleaned and did laundry all day, and I have plenty more of that to do today.
Our weather is cold (for us). We should only hit 57 for a high today. I love this cold weather; we don't get enough of it. I made chili for dinner last night, and have to figure out what to make for dinner tonight. I am really craving some onion soup. I also have an awesome recipe for potato soup I'm tempted to make.
Monet: Lane's bad dreams started around Halloween. She would see the "ghost" masks (like the scream mask) when we were out in the stores. We also have a Disneyland video with a lot of fun rides and parades and the characters, but it also shows the haunted house on it, and I know that she kept thinking that she would see that at Disneyland. She has been so tired since we've been home that she has been sleeping well. I am so excited to hear that Harry's carries spelt pie crusts; I will definately have to get over there to get some. They also carry some spelt sesame sticks that are really tasty; they are over in the chip section. It's hard to drink as much water when it is so cold out. I have to always work on that, and make sure the girls get plenty when the weather cools off. I can't find the font colors with this new screen set-up.
Talitha: Lane also has an imaginary friend that she calls her little girl. It was so funny.....we were at Peter Piper Pizza one day and I gave her and Britt some tokens to play games. Lane put one in the rocking horse, and was watching it rock. I asked her if she wanted me to help her up on it, and she told me that her little girl was riding it. As far as names, I never had to name a boy, and don't have any real favorites. Britt would have been Zachary and Lane would have been Logan. Good luck. Did you find out when your due date is? You obviously are going to find out the gender beforehand, right? Or not?
BOB: My girls tend to get sick at the same time, but there have been many instances when one gets sick and not the other. Lane started her life with chronic ear infections....when she was 2 months old, she had an ear infection that last 2 months (until she was 4 months old). She was on 4 different antibiotics to heal it. She got lots of ear infections and was on a lot of antibiotics. BUT, once she turned one year old, that all stopped, and she has been healthy as a horse, with the exception of an occasional cold or stomach virus. Britt picks up the chest/bronchial stuff due to her esophagus and asthma, but seems to not get the pink eye, strep throat, etc... Colorado is absolutely beautiful. You should really visit there someday if you get the chance to.
Muncher: I so hear you and can so relate about the family ordeal. I would always bust my butt cleaning and preparing the meal, and then once I had a chance to sit down and visit, my parents were wanting to leave. I didn't have to worry about that this year, since I haven't talked to them since March. That is the main reason we went to Disneyland, so I wouldn't have to get into any detail with my children. You are not alone!
Gator: It sounds as if you and DH can use a break. It sounds like getting away for the New Year will be a lot of fun for you two.
Cindy: So sorry to hear about your shopping day out with DH; I sure hope if doing better now! I would rather have a root canal then go shopping with my DH (that's a slight exaggeration, but you get my point).
Well, I have to get some laundry done and go vacuum out the vehicle.
Have a wonderful day!!!!

Good Morning ladies....
Glad the holiday is over and we can get back to a normal routine. Got my exercise in and am getting ready for breakfast.
MMM was okay....no gain, but no loss either. I'll take it, since I did have stuffing and some sf pie.
Going to make the guys hot turkey sands for dinner tonight, I will eat the turkey and a salad. Tomorrow is going to be turkey with homemade WW noodles. That should be it for our turkey fest........
I am off to the table for a bite.....my stomach says food!! See you all after while.

Just a fly by. Its overcast and gray, and not at all a cheery day. As a result, I am having a hard time motivating myself to DO anything. I don't want to spend any money, so I am not going to the store. I need ibuprofen though, so I was going to go to Wal Mart and walk, then get that, but it got too late. Its a zoo in the afternoon, so I think I will just skip it and hopefully get there another time. I need cat food though, and that is the best place to get it. It may be worth a few extra dollars to avoid it though! :)
I took a nap this morning...could not believe how long I slept either! I think the end of the holiday and Tom's vacation time are making me feel like restoring my energy levels through sleep. Either that, or I am terribly lazy! :(
 I will be back later!

Happy Monday ! yea right lol... Its been raining here all day long. I weighed this morning at 206.5. Up from my lowest but down since my D&C so I guess Im happy.
My problem food would have to be almonds. OH MY GOSH< I love em. And I try to limit my intake and usually measure them out but sometimes I find myself going to have one here and one there and Im sure they add up more than what I realize. I guess I should say my downfall was macadamia nuts and I just had to stop buying them cause I couldnt stop eating them. So that was that solution. But I want to keep either almonds and walnuts in my diet for health reasons. But almonds are my favorite snack.
Munch - I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She will be in my prayers for sure..
Nat- My dh loves going shopping...well, as long as he can buy too he does :)
Off to gym I go. Hope everyone has a great day. :)

Hellow Ladies
Looks like everyone had a pretty good holiday. Mine was fine. Gots lots of shopping done. It's all wrapped and under the tree.
It's almost time to go home so no time for replies today. It was a busy day and just now had a minute to poke my head in.
Head home for a quick dinner, who knows what, and then to the gym. It is very overcast and stormy here.
Monet, I will have to think about that problem food and solution. I'll get back with you.
Bob, congrats on your "W".
I'll catch up tomorrow. Have a great evening.

I'ts offically been confirmed my a medical professional. I'm pregnant :) The appt was great. My sister went with me to help with the kids. THere are 4 midwives and 5 Drs in the practice. I met with one of the midwives today. She said that since neither of my csections were for an emergency due to the baby, I have a 65% chance of being able to ahve a VBAC. I'm excited about it!! They did a sono do I got to see the little peanut and hear the heart beat. It changes everything to hear that little babyb eat. They set my DUe date at July 21st. I'm getting so excited!! Oh, and I weighed in at 189, in the afternoon with my boots on. Heck yeah!!!!
Travis bought the 1st season of LOST for me. I'm sooo excited!! I'm going to watch some after the kids go to bed.
MY PROBLEM FOOD- Right now is just food. I can't keep anything down till abotu 3,a nd by that point I'm willing to eat whatever any one hands to me. ALthough, Hannah and I went to mexican restaurant foir lunch. I got the CHarbroiled chicken breast with beans and rice. Hardly ate any of it. Butr I was proud of my choice. Didn't do too many chips and salsa either.
Teensy-We never have Turkey left overs. We didn't even have enough to make sandwitches the next day. Love the big family, but I miss the sandwiches :(
Monet- I'm feeling the nap idea... The kids didn't have much of one today so I'm hoping htey'll go down early so I can watch LOST
Gotta go. Selah is feeding chalk to Jake. I'm sure he's allergic to that too, somehow...

TALITHA: I am so sorry, but I LAUGHED about Selah feeding Jake chalk. I hope you can forgive me! :) Yay on the appt, the VBAC, lunch, your weight...sounds like a great afternoon.
MUNCH: I will be praying for your mom, and a speedy recovery. I know you must be worried sick...so I am praying for YOU too.
CINDY: I could not get my hubby to shop, I am sure. He hates going to the store, any store, with me. I just don't understand why he can't relax and have fun! I always do! (spending money IS fun, right??)
GATOR:  I can relate to your daughter situation. My older one is almost harsh at times, and the younger one can be very self righteous...what a hum!
Gotta go...Tom has a meeting tonight and dinner is supposed to be ready at 6!

I didn't weigh this morning, too afraid of what it will say!:o I will try to follow BOB's advice and get back into the swing of things for the next month before the next "eat till you're sick fest!":barf: I love Christmas, unfortunately I love all the no-no's that go along with it!:nono:
Rachel had her initial consultation with the endocrinologist and dietician today. It went fairly well. She gets plenty of exercise with her 7-8 hours of dance each week!:carrot: The dietician says it seems like we're doing well with our meals at home, but we got some ideas for better breakfasts and lunches. She has been eating at school, but we are to start by taking lunch maybe two days a week and trying to come up with other ideas for breakfast. The problem is we do not like to get up and eat immediately, we are prone to want to wait a while till we're hungry. She suggested taking fruit or acceptable cereal from home and just buy the milk and eat at school. we'll see how it goes. Rachel seems to be well motivated right now, but we'll see what happens as time goes by! She said she may get more motivated by seeing pictures of the costumes she will wear next Spring!:p They will be posted at the dance school next week! hip hop is typically a "belly baring" affair! :(

Good Morning, all my bustin' buddies!
I slept like crap last night, waking up this morning to the added insult of a terrible headache. Three glasses of water, the usual morning meds, and a cup of hot tea have helped it. I don't know what causes it, but I am thinking it may be due to dehydration, which would be sad since I am TRYING to drink more water!
I have a class to teach this afternoon, so I need to decide just WHAT we are going to do. I promised them something fun, so I am thinking of getting a box of q-tips and letting them paint snow pictures on blue construction paper using only white tempra paint. I MAY be nice though, and let them have red and green paints as well, though I am sure one of them will want me to give them yellow too. :) I would like to set up a still life, but I got an email saying my last class tomorrow is cancelled (AGAIN- but at least this time, they told me!) for the kids to practice for some program! GRRRRR.
I made a lentil and chicken stew last night that turned out pretty good. When I went to put it away last night, I was surprised at how much it had thickened!
Last night, I discovered one of my new fish had died. I am not sure what happened, but it was almost buried in the gravel and rocks under one of the plants in the back of the tank. So, I went to Petsmart and got a replacement, along with a second Cory catfish, and some plants. I need to go check them out this morning and make sure all is well...
I need more tea and some breakfast...I will be back in a bit! :)

Good Morning Ladies,
I feel asleep watching TV last night and slept almost all night. The old bladder just can't make it all night.
No one wanted to go to the gym last night but me. I was bored and did not want to sit around and watch tv all night so my Dh dropped me off and then had to come back and get me about an hour and 15 minutes later. I was glad I went.
Talitha, congrats on the official confirmation. I bet it was exciting to hear the heartbeat. That always makes it seem real. July will be here before you know it. You did make a great choice at the Mexican place.
Munch, sending prayers for your mom.
Thin, I'm glad Rachel got a good report at the Dr. I'm sure those costumes will help keep her motivated.
Monet, I am sorry they cancelled your class again. I guess it tis the season for plays and programs to practice. Hope you feel better.
Not much going on here. Have a great day.

Good morning- quick update on my mom- They think she may have had a cardiac embolism (clot that travels from your heart to the brain) and may have been caused by her being in atrial fibrillation or she may have a small hole in her heart. They are doing two tests today to find out more. One she has to be put out for. I am nervous about that. It is frustrating for me cause I am about an hour and a half away and have to keep travelling back and forth, plus work and the normal stuff with my kids. My boss has offered to let me take off, but I am taking off anyways one night next week, and may just go in and teach my 2 classes tonite and then be off tomorrow. It will be good for me to get my mind off it for a bit, but I always have that thought that if something happens to her while I am working, I will feel awful! But I trust she is in God's hands and in the end, it will be ok. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!!
On a different note- my husband had his bi-annual checkup at our doctor. We have been going to him for years- he is great and very knowledgable. My hubby mentioned that he had been doing SB with me for a few weeks, and asked him what he thought. My doctor told him that he is very familiar with it and recommends it highly and thinks it is one of the best eating plans out there. Is that so cool or what? Just even more motivation for all of us to keep doin' what we're doin'!!!
Well, a dreary rainy day here- just stopped by to check in. I'll try back later!!!

Just a quickie! We had a GREAT thanksgiving. Just us four. I ate like a :ink: ...I ate everything I wanted, as much as I wanted and as many times as I wanted. And...go figure...I'm at 157 this morning. :dunno: I stay on plan, drink my water, exercise and I stay the same...eat like I just got off Survivor and I lose a pound. Won't find me complaining, that's for sure.
Friday, DH went out with the kids and Junior and snowblowed the driveway...we had about a foot of snow on thursday night!! The kids and Junior played in the backyard and I put on Christmas music and made some cutout sugar cookies and when the kids came in I had them frost them. It was one of the coziest, happiest family afternoons in a long time!! Shelley and I went shopping on Friday and when we came back, DH had the Christmas tree up! So, anyways, we just had a nice family weekend together.
Shelley was better from her bronchitis as of this morning. I sent her off to school and she was in great shape. Then she called me at about 10am and said she was coughing and felt sick to her stomach. :( I just don't know what to do...you see, Shelley has really, really big hair. Remember Rosanne Rosanna Danna from SNL? Well, it's exactly like hers and apparently the boys have been teasing her and tossing pencils and other things in her hair to see if it stays and she has so much hair that she doesn't even know its there till a girlfriend says, "What's this pencil doing in your hair?" She was up last night crying about it and couldn't sleep until midnight and I'm not sure if she's feeling stress from getting razzed at school for her hair or of she's just tired from not getting to sleep until so late or if she was hungry. I told her to go back to class and call me if she doesn't feel better after lunch. I just don't get it...she was perfectly fine this morning except she was sad because she hates her hair. :dunno:
Yesterday, DH had to go to Syracuse for a quick fix...as opposed to him going to friggen Vermont again for the week...so Kyle and I tagged along with him for the ride and went to Toys R Us (we don't have one up here in the teeming metropolis of Watertown :^: ) to do some shopping. I just really like hanging out with my hubby is all and Kyle likes to go for the ride. It's always nice to get out of the house once in a while...
Anyhow...
Munch: So sorry to hear about your mom. She will certainly be in our prayers. How much snow did you get?
Talitha: I hate the heartburn. And the don't let you take anything for it when you're PG, either, except Tums... Might as well eat Sweet Tarts. Towards the end of my pregnancies, I gave up and just kept the bottle of Pepto Bismol on my night stand and would drink it like a pepsi.
Monet: I hate when you get fish and they go belly-up so soon. Sometimes the little buggers just don't take the move so well. I have an empty tank that has been sitting in my dining room half full of water for months. I need to clean it out and start fresh because what happened was I had an algae eater that was as old as the hills. It even survived my move from Rochester. That thing lived through our renovations in about six inches of green water and I was willing it to die so I could just get rid of the tank. Kyle called it the sea monster. So, then I decided I would clean it out and make it sparkly, got new stones, a cool movable dinosaur thing and let it sit for a couple weeks and filtered it out nice and loved it...then I went to buy some fish and within three days everything died...even my sea monster!! I was so upset I've just left it in the corner since.
Well, we're getting some thunder. Oh...did I mention that on THanksgivign we had THUNDERSNOW!!! So cool to have it snowing so hard it starts to lightning!! Anyway, I don't like being on the puter when it's lightning.
More replies later!!

Good morning ladies......
Woke up this morning to a beautiful white wonderland.......Just a couple of inches, but its snow none the less. Chance for more tonight.
I am supposed to take Buddy in for his shots tomorrow. Looks like Ted will be driving us. We are also planning on going to Kellogg to look at new pickups on Thursday. Since we paid off the mortage and all of our other bills when we sold the boat, he thinks he needs another truck. (I think it is just the fact that both our boys have newer trucks.......) Oh well, he got me a new computer, so I guess I can play Santa too.....
The house smells so good today......they started brining fish last night so they could smoke it today. Now the smoker is going and whenever they open the back door we get a whiff of it......too bad this is not SB legal. Bill made it with pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce and all kinds of other spices. Then he makes a honey and brandy glaze for it.......definitely not legal.
Monet-- Dh says he sure has a hard time sleeping lately. Maybe it is just something in the air. When the kids were little we had about 4 aquariums set up. I sure do miss them, but don't know where I would put one now.
Solly-- WTG-- I know when I procrastinate and then finally get mine in, I am always glad that I did.
Muncher-- Prayers going out for your Mom. Please remember to take care of yourself during all of this too. You can't be there for your Mom if you get wore down.
Tech-- Sometimes a little splurge just shakes up the system! WTG!!!

I just got in from school and the grocery store. Laura and I are supposed to fix dinner together tonight. This is part of her 'learn to cook' phase. We are making Mexican...enchiladas and refried beans, and guacamole. The enchiladas are made with corn tortillas which are NOT legal on SB, but since I don't eat wheat if I can help it (I may have celiac, or an allergy to wheat), I do eat corn now and then. I will keep it to one or two and eat plenty of lettuce, and drink lots of water. :)
School was fun today, but we totally lost track of the time and were late for carpool! The teacher had to come in and get them! Its embarrassing! I do this every week. Maybe if they would put a clock in my classroom...
I am really tired, so I am going to go chill for a bit before we have to start on dinner. I will be back later!

Hi everyone :) .
Ive so far had a pretty good week. Im down to 205 this morning . One more pound to be back at 204. I have a feeling this is going to be my week to hit a new low. I can just taste that 199.
Been doing figures almost everyday for my mom for the medicare rx thing. She is having such a hard time understanding any of it. I printed out a bunch of different plans for her with her medications added and actually I think it lays out pretty well but she is just getting more confused about it.
Really I dont know how the government expects any of the seniors to totally understand the whole thing. You think they could of simplified it a bit.
Besides that not much is new. We are expecting snow this week and the temps have dropped back to where they should be.. which is cold of course lol.
Hope everyone is having a good start to your week. I have to get busy here and work on some stuff Ive been putting off now for a week or so.
Catch you all tomorrow!
:) :)

We just finished dinner. Ok, now I know you all probably think I yak about my cooking TOO much, but bear with me. I am just so excited about the dinner we fixed tonight. For research, Laura and I had lunch at the Mexican place we like. Tom wanted me to duplicate their enchilada sauce. I honestly had no recollection of ever having eaten it...but both Laura and I ordered enchiladas for lunch. I got cheese, she got chicken. The sauce was essentially the same on both, and not as red as we remembered it being, but we carefully tasted and discussed its character. Tonight, we tried to fix it the same, and ours turned out better! Oh, my it was good! I am stuffed! (which is a BIG no no for the Leptin recovery diet!) We essentially fixed a gravy with beef broth, with a mild cumin flavor and only a dash of chili powder. I was SO proud to put that on the table, and Tom was delighted. :) I really ought to go for a walk but its SO late! I need to do SOMETHING to reduce the stuffed feeling.
Anyway, I just had to share with someone my excitement. I just LOVE it when I can figure stuff out like that!

Just took Kyle to preschool...and left him there on his own  !! I miss the little bugger. But I've gotten a cold that has latched itself onto my throat and I'm not feeling all together wonderful, so didn't think I should hang out and get the other kids sick. Kyle had it already and is over it, so he's okay. But I thought maybe I'd put on my iPod and take Junior for a walk and let the cool humidity get into it all and hopefully help clear out my throat...either that or I'm going to start drinking draino!! I'm so sick of this. I had it around halloween, too, and got over it and was fine over thanksgiving and now its back. I'm so sick of not being able to talk! Derek suggested taking something called Zicam. I got a spray cough mist and it says to put 5 squirts to the back of the throat. So, I did this and thought...oh...what a nice cherry flavor. THEN, the medicine kicks in and I just sat there with my mouth hanging open and my tough sticking out like a dog because I didn't want to touch my tounge to the roof of my mouth for fear I'd taste it!! It is absolutely FOUL TASTING!! BUT...most importantly, I guess...it works. All I could think of is I can never, ever give this to my kids because they'd cry it tastes so bad. But, it works really well, so you take the good with the bad, I guess. :p
Anyhow...I'm still at my all-time low of 157. Haven't been too hungry lately and Derek had to stay out last night, so I had leftover turkey and an apple for dinner last night and for breakfast today I had bacon and some scrambled eggs. I really wanted toast, but my toaster broke this morning!! They're cheap, so I'll just buy a new one...
Okay...jsut wanted to check in quick...off for my walk.
Bye, guys!!

Good morning ladies.
Can't believe it is Wed already. Time really flies this time of year.
Had to go to the gym by myself again last night. Those slackers. I didn't care. I didn't get to stay as long as I wanted as DH had an errand to run so he dropped me off and then picked me up on his way back. At least I got to go for about 45 minutes.
Monet, I fixed that Karen's Enchillada recipe that was out a long time ago for tonight's dinner. It is so good. Very rich, but good. Something different. I'm glad class was so much fun that class that you lost track of time. That says alot about the teacher. I'm not surprised your sauce turned out so well, you are such a great cook.
Cindy, My sister is having a nightmare trying to figure out the medicare stuff for my aunt and her MIL. I don't know why they can't make it simple. That's the gov for you. I don't know how they expect these elderly people who have no one to help them understand it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed foryou that you hit your new low this week.
Tech, sorry you have the crud again. Hope you feel better and your walk helps. Can Shelley braid her hair or pull it back? Kids can be so cruel. Maybe check with a hairdresser to see if there is anything to calm it down.
Teensy, snow already? They keep calling for flurries here, but we haven't seen any and I hope it stays that way. I love going to the gym. I feel so good after I get there I don't want to leave. Had to go again by myself last night, but I didn't care.
Munch, any news on your mom?
Got to get busy, Have a great day.

Good Morning:
I dont' have much time to post...Lane and I will be leaving in about 30 minutes and will be gone all day. We have our Mom's Club meeting, and I have to get to Trader Joes, Toys R Us and the mall. I haven't worked out in almost two weeks, and don't know when I will be getting back to it; I've had soooo many other things to do.
Mucher: I am so sorry to hear about your mom; I will keep her in my prayers for sure!! I am glad to hear that your doctor is one of the smart ones out there that acknowledges that SB is one of the best eating plans out there.
Tech: Why are kids so cruel? I am sorry to hear that Shelley is having to deal with some unkind kids. Kids are affected by so many things that we don't even know about. Britt asked me (yesterday morning) why I haven't gone on any of her field trips with her this year. I had to explain to her that if siblings weren't allowed to go that I couldnt' go. We don't have anyone here to watch Lane. Well, it just so happened I was going on a field trip with Lane yesterday. As soon as we got to school, Britt told me that she had a sore throat and didn't feel good, and didn't want to go to school. I told her to stick it out, and I would come check on her after Lane's field trip (I couldn't let Lane down). I called my DH and told him that one of us had to go on Britt's next field trip (next Thursday), whatever we had to do. Well, I was able to talk to Britt's teacher before I checked on Britt and she told me that if Lane and I met the class at the Science Center and paid full price to get in that we were both welcome to go. So, I was able to tell Britt that and it made her day. She was so excited! She said she still felt a little yucky, but she'd be able to make it the rest of the day. Poor little thing; she was feeling left out.
I gotta run; I'll try to check in later.

Good morning everyone. I've got a stinking cold. Hope I'm over this before the kids come home for Christmas. Did get the tree all decorated yesterday. Later in the afternoon DH put the train around it. It looks so pretty. This week end I'll wrap packages and put them out. Need some wrapping paper yet. I love Christmas and everything that goes along with it. My eating has been fine, of course I don't want much with this cold. Think I need to go lay down a bit. Will try and come back later...

This will be quick as I have a ton of things to do. Classes went fairly well today. I really came down hard on the one most wild class today. I even took one of the kids aside and had a talk with him. I have to sub for that class tomorrow, so we shall see if it helped! :) I may take them down to the art room and let them paint for an hour. :s: Its so much easier if you can do something you feel confident in! The teacher told me to do what I wanted with them all day. Art it is! :)
I need to go get stuff ready for dinner, and make smoothies and stuff for Tom's lunch tomorrow. Then, I am going to pop the cork on the port, and relax! ;)

 Thanx Monet!!
Okay...from left to right is Junior and Kyle posing for the camera. This was Junior this summer before his haircut. We took them to show how BIG his head is!! And to show how cute Kyle is!!
Then is Junior the day he came home from the groomers. Doesn't he look funny?
Then the last pictures are from this weekend of Junior playing in the snow. The first of him in the snow is his first footsteps in it, trying to figure it out. Then the last is him looking in the window at me to let him come in with snow on his nose. Isn't he cute? And his fur is coming in nicely...but he lost his puppy black spots and now they're gray. He's still cute.
Okay...off to vaccuum before Derek gets home!!
Thanks again, Monet!!

I am not doing much today because I've been feeling yukky for the past couple of days. I have a sore throat and don't feel right. I've been taking my vitamins and also Zicam, but still have to take Tylenol for the throat. I have not walked or done any exercise. I'm still in my nightgown and it is 5:30. I've done all my Christmas cards today and caught up on the laundry. Didn't even weigh myself yet this week. I have a doctor's appt for the annual phy. on Tuesday, so he may have to check my throat out too if I don't get over this.
Munch--Hope your Mom is doing better and that you are doing OK too.
Tech--cute pix.

We just finished dinner. Silly us...we made enchiladas again! We also ate some leftovers from the fridge, like chili, and green bean casserole.
A friend of James' came by and brought leftover General Tso's chicken...and we tried that too. What a hodge podge! Anyway, I am drinking my port and just finished cleaning up a bit, turning on the dishwasher and making Tom's smoothies.
Guess I will go knit and chill some more. I need to do replies soon...maybe tomorrow afternoon after school. Love you all...

Good evening all. Just got back from seeing my mom. She's doing ok- still can't walk, speech is still bad, but is lots more alert and her spirits are good. They are moving her to a brain unit tomorrow for more intense therapy and testing. They "think" that she is still bleeding a bit in the brain, and they located a clot. Tomorrow will bring more news. I sooooooo appreciate all your prayers. You all are truly a compassionate group of gals! I am so blessed to be here!:grouphug:
Ok- I have been doing real well with eating this week- (stress'll do that:^: )
and even though I didn't get on the scale Monday, I jumped on this morning. I was down a little. I am hoping for a good loss this week. I think the situation with my mom is also motivating me to get my eating TOTALLY under control as well.
TECH- Your pics are so cute. Thanx for sharing!! Snow updates????
MONET- I'll be thinking of you subbing tomorrow. Its great that there are teachers like you who care enough about the kids to steer them in the right direction. Sometimes you may be the only one in their lives who may be doing that (even in a private school!)
CINDY- That power pump class sounds great, but ben-gay or icy-hot may be your friends afterward :dizzy: !!
TONI- Hope you feel better!!!
PANCHO- Oh how I wish we had a Trader Joe's here in Western NY!!!
SOLLY- Thanx for asking about my mom. Good for you for going to the gym by yourself!! Its so therapeutic isn't it??
Well gals, I'm tired. Long days this week. I am gonna catch the last half of "Invasion" with my hubby. Weird show, but addicting.

 GGRRRR! I'm sooo mad! I made myself a great lunch and breakfast and LEFT IT AT HOME! I don't know what I did! I reached over to the passenger side for it and it wasn't there! Now I have to try to come up with something halfway legal here at school. I am the nurse so no leaving the campus until 2pm, unless I had a real emergency! I will go and see what is available in the lunchroom for breakfast and at least I can get a salad for luch, but GGRRR!
Rachel is danceing at the local tree lighting tomorrow night and it's supposed to be in the forties! They wear just their sleeveless leotards, tights and gloves for ballet, then the have black pants and Santa hats for hip hop and tap. Those girls will freeze! And they are still expected to smile and make it look easy!:D I don't see how the senior girls dance on pointe at these things, but they always do a great job!
Hope everyone is having a great week!

I discovered this morning that my little "problem" is still around. It really bugs me. Ugh!!!!!
Tech, what cute pix.
Cindy, I wish we had classes at our gym. It is new so nothing like that yet. That pump class sounds hard.
Gator, sorry you are feeling poorly. I haven't felt good for a week. My tummy has been yucky. Hope the dr. can help you out.
Munch, thanks for the update on your mom. Hope they get some good answers today. I can't beleive you are doing so well with your eating through all this. I would be the opposite.
Monet, good luck on your subbing classs today. Hope they behave.
Thin, I hate when I do that. Especially when I am looking forward to eating it. Hope you find something good. I guess the girls are concentrating on their steps and working hard they don't notice the cold.
Have a great day.

I just got in. I was never so happy to see 3PM come before in my life!
It all started this morning when one of the girls in the class, who is a drama queen, came up to me crying and saying her head hurt and her whole body hurt and and and...so I sent her down to the office with another student. They have some medicine she is supposed to take, which they gave her and she came back and was ok, but cried at the drop of a hat all day.
Then another girl who is an even bigger drama queen, and a hypochodriac to boot, was sitting on the floor crying that she felt bad, so I sent HER to the office...she returned and it was reported to me that she was to just rest and if she threw up they would call her mom.
Then the regular teacher's daughter came and told me SHE was sick. So I sent HER to the office...and a few minutes later, she returned, followed by the principal, who talked to me in the hall and wondered what was going on. She came in and talked to the students, and they were pretty good for a while, but slowly fell back into bad habits.
I was delighted to take them and drop them off at PE...and Library...
I did not even get my usual semi break at lunch, as they are having a Christmas program tonight and had the lunch room set up for it, so we all ate in the art room. It was a zoo! I am trying to decide now if I should go back for the program tonight or not. I kind of would like to see it, but I think I would rather stay in...so I will have to make up my mind in the next hour or so! :)
I need to go chill...so I will check in later!

Good morning! I can't believe it's Friday and there are only three pages of posts! Where IS everyone? We have not heard from Fillise in a while, or Heartmom, Country, Brandi... If you are lurking, at least say hello!
I woke up a little while ago, but have been lazing around. I need to go fix some coffee or tea soon. I have a whole day with no obligations scheduled! Woo hoo! I would do some Christmas shopping, but I haven't the foggiest idea of what I need to buy for anyone! :dizzy: Tom asked me last night what I wanted, and I could not think of a thing at the time.
BOB: I am so glad you drug you cold self here to at least say hello! How are you feeling these days? Have you successfully kicked the crud to the curb?
SOLLY: Did you get to relax by a big fire last night? I am sorry about that problem. I think we all are.... Have a good weekend. I think you rock for getting to the gym, even if you have to go alone!
THIN: I hate when I forget something like that! I rarely forget my lunch, because I am too much of a chow hound! :( I agree with you about those girls dancing with just tights and costumes. When my girls were in ballet, it bothered me! My older daughter was in the troupe, and they danced at a tree lighting and it was freezing...but she did not get sick or anything. I think the girls really warmed up a good bit to keep from shivering...
MUNCH: I am hoping all is going well with your mom. Have you gotten any results back, or any more info from the doctor? I am so proud of you sticking to plan in this. I would be so tempted to stress eat!
CINDY: Did you get snow? It always looks so pretty when it first falls...then the cars and people trample through it and it looks nasty! How is the new job going?
GATOR: How are you feeling? Better I hope! There are several stomach bugs going around, I hope if you have one, its the short variety. I don't know about you, but I find a nightgown day, which I call Mono days, rather theraputic. But then, I am as lazy as they come.
TECH: Thanks for sending the pictures. Junior is a fun looking dog. I loved the one with the snow on his nose. Kyle is awfully cute too...
TONI: I hope you are feeling better! Take plenty of vitamin C!
PANCHO: That is so cute that Britt wants you to come to her field trip. I am glad you were able to find a way to go. I wish I lived close...I would love to keep Lane for you to go. I would bake cookies with her, and do art projects... (can you tell I would LOVE to have some grandkids? I am so careful NOT to say that in front of my daughter though... :s: She is very stubborn, and would NOT have kids just to be independent! )
I think it is time for breakfast (growl, growl!) ...be back later!

Monet- I can tell who has a sub teacher in their room by how many kids from that class come to the clinic. Usually there's 3-4 in a row from the same class complaining of stomachache, headache, whatever!
Tech-Hope everything is going better for your daughter now. Kids can be so cruel! Sean's Language Arts teacher had a class discussion yesterday about bullying that took up the entire class. I guess maybe there was a problem somewhere!:(
Talitha- Hope you're feeling well and kids are feeling better!
Just a quick fly-by. I'm still at 157. I think this is a record for me at staying there!! I'm off to take a walk with Junior since Kyle's at preschool. I'm starting to get used to this. :s:
Dinner last night was a hot dog on WW bread and green beans. Lunch was a ham sandwich on WW. Breakfast was bacon and coffee. I had an apple in there somewhere, too. I need more veggies...but I'm just not hungry these days :dunno: .
Breakfast today was more bacon and coffee. I think I'll have some cantaloupe when I get back from walking the dog. It's kind of breezy and lightly snowing a wet snow, but the walk I took the other day helped my throat so much I want to do it again. So, off I go. Isn't it strange that walking in cold wettish weather helps with my cold? I got this from a friend of mine that has kids my kids age and she said that she was always raised that when the kids get sick, send them outside, and they get better! It seems as though the cold, wet fresh air is better than the dry, stuffy air in the house. Works for me...
Monet: I ordered my art book yesterday for Shelley for Christmas...I'll use it on Kyle, too!! He's a great little artist...never knew how good he was till I compared him to the kids at school and he's so neat and stays in the lines and does his best..he does great free-hand drawings of the Titanic and Chicken Little. Anyhow...just wanted you to know it's on the way for Christmas!! Thanks for the suggestion!!
Okay...off to walk the dog!!

Thin: Shelley has been to the nurse, I think, every day this week. :^: Once for ice chips because she had a sore throat, one day she was there three times because she got her TOM and needed a pad and a pamprin and then later for another pamprin and to use the heating pad. I suspect she'll be there again today for the heating pad and a pamprin. Poor kid. Like I said, I wonder if she's worried about getting picked on. Derek told her that she has beautiful hair (she really does...it's gorgeous...but she wants to look like everyone else with straight blond hair...but she has that kinky, crazy, wild Sicilian hair from ther paternal gene pool to contend with) and that the boys that pick on her probably love it and that they are picking on her because they have a crush on her. She flat-out disagrees. :?:
Ellen
12-02-2005, 11:27 AM
TECH: I imagine the reason the cold wet air helps is that the sore throat is due to dryness inside. My throat gets sore when we turn the heat on because the dry air in the house dries out my throat. Its not rainy at all here today...just very cold, but I am going to try to get a walk in. I have a headache again, so I am not going to feel too much like walking. It will be a challenge. Enjoy the book. You will find it may work better for Kyle than Shelley. It was originally written for a preschool program.
THIN: That is exactly was I was dealing with! It was a snowball effect! And the one child is the daughter of a chiropractor- the hypochondriac- and an older Chinese mother. I think the mom feeds this problem. The little girl whines and complains about everything! Shes itchy, her arm hurts, her foot hurts, she has a headache, her stomach hurts, her leg hurts, someone said something that hurt her feelings...she came to school one day with her foot all bandaged, no shoe, but no crutches. She hopped everywhere. It was unreal...and these kids know me, and seem to like me! Its not like I am some strange substitute teacher! But thanks for letting me know its normal behaviour. The Headmaster was not so kind. :(

Happy Friday Ladies,
No big plans for the weekend. Probably do some shopping tommorow. Don't really have that much more to do. But just like to get out.
Monet, Whew, what a day you had. I would have been down to the principal's office along with those kids. You have more patience than me. No fire last night or tonight, maybe tomorrow night. Yeah, I thought my problem was gone, but discovered it was still around. Bummer.
Bob, trade ya places. Feeling better?

Monet--I have recently been waking up with a headache. Last night my back was hurting and then later my head ached so badly from the back of my neck up the back of my head and all on the top of my head. I lay in the dark and analysed how I was feeling and realized that I was all tensed up. My shoulders and neck were so tense that it was probably constricting my blood vessels and causing the headache. I worked to relax and after a little while the headache went away on its own. I've had that happen before and I wonder if I'm dreaming or something and tensing up because of that. I never remember my dreams.
I'm still feeling punky. I felt better yesterday, but back down feeling crummy today. :(

Okay...I went for my walk...about 4 miles, half of which was long the river...cold north wind coming in...waves crashing along the shore...face red and numb...tears streaming down my face from the wind. The temp is about 35 and the windchill is about 25. I was out for about an hour walking and I feel GREAT!!:carrot: Isn't it the weirdest thing? I have a full pot of coffee ready to drink after lunch. Which is a pile of deli ham and a quarter cantaloupe. But first I have to go to the store to buy some Splenda.
Okay...will check in later. Got both kids home already. Shelley's home on a hot date with the heating pad. Her new favorite thing in the house.
PS...Junior loves our walks. He trots along in front of me with a happy smile and his tongue hanging out...his breath puffing out of his mouth like a steam train. I think this breed is bred for the cold weather. He just comes alive in it!!

Where the heck is everybody!!!!!:?:
We went to the treelighting last night and just about froze to death!!!:hyper:
It was great though! There was a band that played first. It was made up of all adults that just love to play, all ages from around 40 to white headed gradmas and grandpas. they were pretty good and got us all in a Christmas mood! :) Sean's band director was in the band, so that was fun. Then the girls danced. They were really good too. Then they were getting ready to light the tree, but we were cold and hungry so we left. We drove by later and saw the tree. It was nice.
Hope everyone is having a nice restful weekend! I'm hoping to finish my decorating today. I have the tree up and lights outside, but I want to put some candles on the mantle, etc. See ya later!

Its me here. HI...:) .
Well, we are supposed to get three inches of snow tonight... Im kinda hoping so dh can show me how to use the snowblower.
We are heading out shortly to pick up a piece of furniture my mom ordered and then taking her to dinner .
Im getting frustrated again. I did not loose any weight beyond my lowest. I really thought I was having a great week but the scale is just not being nice to me. Its been over a month now Ive just bounced around on the scale. Of course all that bouncing is over 204 lbs. I was so frustrated that last night I went over to have dinner with my mom and she wanted me to go get Chinese.
I usually dont eat it anymore and if I do I get something very blah ( like steamed dumplings ) but I was so mad at myself I ordered what I used to get years ago. Thankfully I did not eat too much because about a hour later I felt miserable all the way until I went to bed. Then this morning my stomach just ached. I just cannot handle that food anymore. I must wanted to punish my body back but I paid the price..lol.
I know its just something I have to wait out. Im on some kind of plautau or something... Its just totally frustrating when your trying so hard ! I go as far as I measure out my food and eat according to what I planned each day and Ive kicked up the exercise. My dd said.." maybe this is the weight your body wants to be" I wont accept that at all.
Sorry for my complaining. Its good though to get it out! Thanks all for listening.
Well Dh came home from work around 10 this morning and I need to go wake him so we can head out and get our running around done.
Have a awesome weekend.!

Hey everyone! Its cold and rainy here, but we went and walked about two miles this morning, in the rain. I feel a bit better for it. I am knitting away and actually making progress! I finished the afghan and I am about half way done with this scarf, then all the stuff I need to mail to family in Chicago will be done! I should do two more scarves for family in Boston, and then my mother in law's afghan, and I will be done! Hooray!
I wanted to share about a product I found and tried yesterday. Its Bob's Red Mill Creamy Rice Cereal made with brown rice. Its subtitled Brown Rice Farina. I fixed it yesterday and if you are a grits lover, missing grits, you have to try this stuff! It tasted very much like grits..especially the texture, though it was a bit creamier.
Breakfast this morning was a strawberry smoothie made with water. Lunch was two bowls of homemade chicken and rice soup with carrots, green beans and celery in it. The rice was brown of course... I also had a cup of espresso, and a cup of hot tea. I am not sure what dinner will be, but it will be light. I told Tom this morning that I felt like it would help me if I could skip making a big dinner at night. We discussed alternatives, and how we could work out getting him the dinner he wants with out making me a party to eating it. I think even if we work it out for one or two days a week, it will help me.
CINDY: I can so relate to your frustrations. I have a suggestion. Why not check out the LWL forum on here, and see if Mel or Meg can give you some pointers on breaking the plateau with cardio or exercise. They are both personal trainers...Mel did Sugarbusters and started out on this forum. They are both really nice and helpful. Just don't desert us for the LWL forum, ok?
THIN: I agree! Where IS everyone?? Shopping I guess...except for me. So far, two out of four of my kids want money for Christmas...how easy is that? Glad the dancing went well and Rachel is not a Rachelcicle today!

Hey, guys! Sorry I'm not around much anymore. I'm still hanging in there. Some days are good others aren't so good. Today I pigged out on Chex Mix, man that stuff is addictive! My weight is around 164 or 163. Better than it was a couple months ago, but not as good as it once was(159). This time of the year is really hard. I'm just trying to focus on eating well about 80% of the time and no bingeing just because I eat off plan. I'm still working and that is why I don't get on the computer much anymore. I stay on it all day so that is the last thing I want to do when I come home. I did skim some of the posts and saw that Talitha is preggers! Congrats! Hubby killed a deer last week and we had it processed. I took the steaks(like cubed steak) and cut them up and fried(no batter)it in olive oil and added 2 bags of stir fry veggies, seasoned it with soy sauce, ginger, lots of garlic, pepper, and onion. It was really good. Thought I would pass that along. Everyone had it with rice but me. See I did good yesterday and then today the Chex Mix got the best of me,lol. Well, I just wanted to let you guys I know I'm still here alive and well.

MONET,
Watched till the bitter end!! Found myself kicking and screaming for UGA...SHHHHHHHHHHHHH....don't tell MISSY!! I started to call her last night, but figured that TERRY wasn't in too good of a mood! It was a good game, even though it was a runaway...
Wanted DESPARATELY for FLA STATE to LOSE!!!! But...they didn't!
My GREAT NEPHEW was baptized this morning...What a little trouper!!!
He shivered when they put the Holy Water on his little head, but not a whimper!!! Afterward, we went to Tracy's Mom's for lunch..what a spread!!
Two days in a row that I was BAD BAD BAD....Last night we went to Demetrio's and I had baked "sketti"...I did find myself not eating very much of it, so Kate has quite a lot to eat this week for lunch!
My Brother just left. His plane leaves at 4p.m. and he will get into Lexington at 9:30 p.m. as long as there are no delays in Charlotte. He's been on the go constant since Thursday and he is worn out!
I'm off to put supper in the oven. I got a beautiful chuck roast yesterday and I bet that sucker is three inches or more thick! I better get a move on or it won't be done by 6!
I'll be back later...

BOB: Well, I have been looking at that avatar and trying to figure it out. It looks like a hamburger on fire in the middle of it...is that a cloud or smoke at the top? Care to explain??

Guess what? I am still in my pjs! Its 4:30 in the afternoon and I have yet to comb my hair or get dressed and Im not even sick ! Now this is the way to go every now and then !
I did get alot done though around the house. Woke up to 3 inches of snow and I just said to myself " this would be a good day to just stay home", and it was. I've gotten 2 loads of laundry done, flipped my mattress and changed the sheets, baked two different no nos for a work thing tomorrow, vaccumed, mopped, took a nap , made DH a early dinner. Now Im cooking some chicken breasts for a few meals during the week and gonna make my lunch for tomorrow.
I am going to have to go change here though in a bit to do my exercises, somehow I cant see doing them in my Pjs. Looking forward to a 4 day work week coming up. Off on Friday and Im hoping to get the rest of my Christmas shopping done.
Tech- Alright :cb: your doing great !
Bob- I was wondering what that was , thanks for explaining . :)
Monet- I'll look around that LWL area. I actually have the BFL for women book. Guess I should really get reading it. But what Ive seen so far on those posts is they do ALOT of weight training. Makes what I do look so skimpy lol.
well Im off to change and get the exercises done then maybe I can do some gift wrapping.
See ya all tomorrow.:)

BOB--It looks like a hamburger cooking in one of those chiminea thingys people have on their back patio.
Thanks for pulling against the Nolies. They are our "hated enemy" like UGA and Ga Tech "hate" each other. But really, to Gators, we would rather always beat UGA. That's a much more important win. I send my congratulations to MONET for her team's win. Now that the Gators have beaten both the SEC and ACC champs (!!!!!) we are off to play in the Outback bowl in Tampa against Iowa.
Just a note--the weather was beautiful here today. As my DH says, "Ho hum, just another day in paradise." It was in the low 70's this afternoon, and we played a little golf in short sleeves, and then drove home in the convertible with the top down. We just have 2 seasons here in FL: the hot summer where you go from your air conditioned house to your air conditioned car to your air conditioned work or store, and the rest of the year (spring and fall) where the weather is like it is today. We get a few days sprinkled here and there of "cold" weather (in the 30's and 40's) but we just wait it out and know that in a few days it will be nice again. Don't you just love it, BOB?
I am still sick, but maybe on the mend. I've had lyringitis (sp?) for 2 days and still cough, but have my annual on Tuesday, so if I'm not better by then, he may give me pills. I have felt to crummy that I have not weighed or walked or watched what I've eaten.
Cindy--I also recommend weight lifting. If you really "get into it" you can lose some significant weight, fat, and inches. It is hard work, but there are good weight plans out there where you train at high intensity for 30 min. 3X per week and get maximum results. Look for something called "Super Slow" and the trainer there will probably be pretty knowledgeable.
Gotta go. I'm starting to cough.

Monet- Have a quick question for you...or if anyone else knows. My mom has this machine ( I have no idea what it is called) but its about 20 years old and it was really heavy duty and you could make hot soup in it or ice cream or turn nuts into flour etc... well she used it for making peanut butter. And its now not working . Well I thought to get her something for Christmas just so she could make her pbutter would be a great idea. But what Im wondering if you could do that in a food processor. I have one but the booklet doesnt say. I was looking onlint at the Cuisinart mini prep processor. Do you think it would work? Or maybe youve tried it? Thanks for any ideas you can give ( note to say Im not looking to spend alot just because I know she wont use it for anything but the pbutter, shes very much not into wanting gadgets)
Gator- thanks for the info. I do now do free weights at home 2-3 times a week. Maybe I just need to kick that up. The step classes I do throw in some weights now and then but only for maybe 8 min.

   I am SO excited! I made my goal of being finished with the knitted gifts for family in Chicago...I did the binding off of the last scarf tonight. Now I need to weave in ends on a few pieces, wrap them, pack them and run to UPS. I am pumped! Just two scarves and one afghan to go! (for my other sister, and my mother in law) Then I am going to knit something for ME, I think....
CINDY: I make peanut butter in my Cuisanart. I have an 11 cup one with a powerful motor, but my old smaller one worked as well. I think a Cuisinart would be a good choice, as they are well made. You used to be able to purchase a peanut butter machine that Salton made...wonder if they still make it? I had one, and just wore it out! :)
