Hi girls  .... Count me in!!! I also have to change my ticker from a Thanksgiving challenge, but put me in the ring for 8 lbs. 8 lbs will give me a goal to strive for, a little over 1 month right? Right now on doing the "winning by losing" by Jillian Michaels and have noticed alot of changes with muscle definition. Imagine...me with muscles rippling!! haha, anyway its true....just a little bit hidden under the fat. :strong: Nice to meet you all!!

Good Morning girls!!! My goals are very simple....just to eat with better choices and only until full. Our family doesn't have any relatives here in the States, so its just the 4 of us. Unfortunately, I lost the toss and its turkey tommorow...hehe, I was soooo hoping for a nice baked ham!! :D Anyway, I think I'll plan our day to have an early dinner, say about 3:30pm or so. Last year we did the same thing, and then went for a nice long walk before it got too dark. I noticed that my gym is open for the first time over the holidays but with no daycare, so with dh home tommorow I plan on working out. That should help with the gravy and stuffing!!! :carrot:
huntersmommy
11-23-2005, 10:53 AM
that is great and what a great idea to have dinner early enough that you can still get out and get that workout and going to the gym :) you go girl :)
snugbug
11-23-2005, 12:11 PM
My plan is to eat moderately, make good choices, drink my water- let the vegetables define my plate. :carrot:
Also I noticed my gym is open Thursday and Friday also and I plan to go one, if not both, of those days since dh will be available. Saturday morning I have yoga class too. My family doesn't do a lot of mixed dishes so besides the pie it shouldn't be too bad- the fall comes with portion size and 12 flavors of pie! And turning the whole day into a week- if I can be moderate and keep it to one day I'll be doing good.

IF YOU GOBLE GOBLE YOU WILL WOBLE WOBLE....as my WW leader told us! I just really want to focus on portions and not overeating...lot's of water and getting in some exercise over the next few days!
Good luck everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

I was thinking about going back on WW...have done it off and on along with other plans the past few years. You guys sound so enthusiastic and motivated and I could use some of that myself.
I'd love to see 10 pounds gone by Christmas and get myself back into a steady exercise routine. I've just been slacking off lately.
I've forgotten some of the WW stuff and am hoping someone might give me ideas for 0-2 point foods I could eat while at work. My job is such that I don't really stop and take a lunch break. So, I was trying to think of things I could snack on at my desk while I work that won't add up the points.
Any help is appreciated! :)

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!!!:thanks1:
What a nice surprize.....the site is back on!!!
Well, I went to the gym as planned.....yawn.....I might fall asleep during the turkey mind you :D as I had set my alarm for 6:15 am!! They were only open from 7-9 am so I got an early start to my day. I came home just as ds was getting up. I feel really good for going and that might swing my decision to have a teeny tiny pc of strawberry rhubarb pie. We'll see though.....
Have a great day and enjoy your time with family and turkey!!!
huntersmommy
11-24-2005, 02:02 PM
hmm rhubarb pie i havent had that in forever most people around here look at me crazy if i say anything about rhubarb. oh well yeah i'm glad the site is back up i checked this morning and it was down. glad you got up and worked out i got up at 6 this morning through the bird in the oven and went and did my walk away the pounds 2 mile video . so today i had 4 oz of turkey for 4 pts so far and my oatmeal i know i will have turkey and veggies later but, i have managed to avoid the white chocolate cheesecake i made for my hubby and lil man :)

 I'd like to join you please. I was just one pound short on reaching my Thanksgiving goal which I feel really good about! I'd like to lose 11 pounds by Christmas, so I can say I'm in the 180s.
I've been following South Beach phase one for 10 days to jump start my weight loss, and now I plan to follow the "Wendie Plan." I've converted the points to calories, now I just need to sit down and figure out which day to make the super high day.
I've been exercising using The Firm workouts since July 1st, and I plan to continue following the rotation I've chosen from their website. I've worked out this morning and now I'm ready to enjoy dinner!
:thanks1:

Welcome Stagemom/Michelle !!! Sounds like you have the know how for sure. Do you enjoy the Firm workouts? I have the WATP, Tony Little and some of Richard Simmons. Can't say I use them all though, lately I'm more on Jillian Michaels workouts as per her book.
Huntermommy.....WOW....I just noticed from all your tickers.....that you've already lost over 100 lbs!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I've got to re-do my ticker to start our xmas challenge. How did your Thanksgiving meal go? I stuck to my guns with loads of veggies, small amount of turkey and a spoon of stuffing and one small wedge of potatoe. The strawberry rhubarb pie was fantastic. I had about a 2" wedge and then left the table to clean up. WOOHOOO.....by 4:30pm all was put away and we finished putting the xmas lights up outside!!!:gift2: On to the next holiday I SAY!!!!

I love The Firm :strong: workouts! The combination of weights and cardio is awesome! I can't believe how great my arms are looking at this point. Now if only eating healthier would come as easily to me, as getting into a workout routine has!!!!
I did extremely well at dinner today. I measured and portioned out all of the food on my plate- 3oz. turkey breast, 1/2 cup stuffing, 1/2 cup green beans, 1 cup waldorf salad. I made the salad so I knew exactly what was in it and I had already figured out what a 1 cup portion was. I drank water, though I really wanted a diet coke! My total calories for Thanksgiving dinner were under 500! :cp:
For leftover supper later I plan to enjoy more turkey breast, veggies of some sort, and some crustless pumpkin pie. :T
I do have to bake my dd's birthday cake this evening which will be challenging because I love cake batter!
I'm so looking forward to checking in with you all and watching my ticker move towards my Christmas goal! Christmas season starts for us Saturday when we go up in the hills to get our christmas tree. We(me, DH, 3 kids) will go with my brother, sil, & niece, my parents, and my aunt. We always take a picnic lunch to eat in the snow. Next weekend starts the round of family parties. The good news is that DH's work doesn't have their holiday party until the end of January! The bad news is that the treats are going to start showing up in the staff lounge at my work!

:coffee2: Good Morning! What are you all do towards your challenge today?
Today is a super low points/calories day for me, 24 points/ 1200 calories, so I need to be really careful about what I chose to eat. It's a rest day on my workout rotation schedule, I do still plan to do an ab workout, and a short yoga stretch, I may throw in an extra workout to get a jump start on next week.
We are off to the hills and the snow to look for our christmas tree later this morning. :snow4: Please send pleasant thoughts my way. I'm scared of heights and I don't really like snow so this is my least favorite holiday time activity.
Have a sensational Saturday everyone! :chockiss:

Hey ladies, Count me in on the Christmas Challenge. After reading the posts you guys did a lot better than I have been doing. I gave in on Thanksgiving and went over, then Friday, Saturday, and today already... This time last year is when I started losing the battle, so Im not going to let it happen to me this year. I have been so unhappy with myself each day for falling off. So, I have decided that i'm going to pick myself up, dust off, face the scale in the morning and go from there. I know that i'm the only one who can change me, and it's my choices good or bad that I have to live with.
Im really scared to weigh myself in the morning, but I have to know the damage before I can correct it.
I was feeling so down, until I got online and read everyones posts. I know I can do this when I have all the support here.
So my Christmas goal is to get to 200lbs. Wont know how many I need to lose until after weigh in, but my other goal is to drink atleast 64oz of water daily.

Hey there everyone! Well I did pretty good over Thanksgiving and even had to WI 2 days later with a loss of -.4..not much but I will take it! Sounds like everyone is doing really well. I only got in 2 days of exercise last week but I am ok with it since I have been busting my butt 5-6 days a week since the middle of July, so I know I will get right back on track this week. I actually am having withdrawls from it! I miss my exercise!!! Ok the Christmas Challenge is officially on!! My 10% Goal is my Christmas Goal so I have 4.8 lbs to go for that. I think that is reasonable with everything I have coming up in the next 4 weeks. I am starting a new job and will be away from home for a week and of course Christmas Parties..uuggghhh challenges all the way to the big day..But we can do this!!!! WOOHOO!!

well yesterday I got up did my walk away the pounds 2 mile walk then when my son took his nap I did the firm up fast video and then I did walk away the pounds 2 mile walk again last night have done great so far with the holidays boy this is such a tough time of the year to be on plan but in the end sticking to plan and reaching our goals is way more worth it than that piece of fudge or cookies or anything else that we may think about running across our lips just picture those things and the most disgusting thing you can think of you really dont want that stuff ladies :)
SO today is a non workout day I dont workout the day before weigh in so today will just be concentrating on eating good food staying on plan and drinking that water :)
Everyone have a great day !!!!

You are so right! Good luck on weigh in. Im up 1lb this week, but it's alot better than I thought I would be. I was bad for 4 days so I will take the 1lb gain. I made my Thanksgiving challenge, so I know I will make my Christmas Challenge of 11lbs. I just cant give in to temptation.
For Christmas we always have a leg of lamb with mint sauce and tons of veggies. I can do without the treats and cookies, but ive gotta eat some lamb. It just wouldnt feel like Christmas.

Angie-It's 70 degrees and sunny here..this weather is just crazy! We go to my parents house in Nashville, Tn and stay there for Christmas Eve and then on to my grandparents Christmas Day and then on to DH's parents in Alabama...it will be a long trip. We eat snacky stuff on Christmas Eve and then do the whole Turkey Dinner thing over on Christmas Day. This year should be fun b/c DD is 2 1/2 now and is really getting in to the spirit!
Molly-Glad to see you girl!! Welcome to the challenge..you can do it!
Anna-I bet if you have a good week you will see a good loss next week! Probably a lot of water retention too!
Speaking of water retention..I have been so bad on my water the past few days..that is my goal today 100 oz...gotta get it down!!

Wow I blew it big time. It is soso hard to follow a diet at someone elses house. I did get a great workout in though today. I made up for all those cal I ate. I have been good today though. I think my sis has that recipe for choc fudge. I will ask her this week. She is out of town for a few days. I just had my oatmeal a fourth of a cup mixed with .nf yogurt and a peach cut up and nuked. Yummy. my favorite new recipe so far. The Dannon yogurt no carb is only one point. Can not beat it. Any way I need to stay focused. Congratulations to all of you who did well at turkey day. Way to go.

I get so motivated reading all of your posts. I too had a little struggle with Thanksgiving day but with the rest of the week I was so good found I was down 1 lb since today is weigh in day. I start over on points and I started reading and went and got my bottle of water reading that some of you were going to drink your water. I have started watching exercise videos and working out and walk when I can because you have said you are exercising. Some of you have said you blew it this week but all I can say is start right now. Don't look back because that's how we slip back into old habits by telling ourselves "Oh I messed up, I can't do it" We have to change our thoughts and say "Look what I have done so far. I can do it. Keep it up." I have a little problem in that my husband isn't real supportive. He tries to get me to eat things I shouldn't or makes comments when we are going out about my points. I have to not make a big deal about it and just quietly order what I know I should and decline the deserts he ask me if want since he knows I am a chocolate lover. Keep posting and encouraging us to keep it up. I updated my Christmas challenge as I was trying to be too safe and I needed to really challenge myself. Thanks for your words ladys.

Hey girls....Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Food for me today has been anything soft with little chewing. I went to the dentist today and after 1 hr 45 min.....I'm the proud new owner of a new crown (well the temporary one anyway) LOL....I have this constant throbbing......but I'm OP for the day.:carrot:
Akiss.....yum yum Lamb!!! I can't say I've ever cooked a leg of lamb before, but I often make rack of lamb for dh. Its his fave being British and all.
I would love the 2 pt fudge recipie if you ever come across it. I saw on Oprah the other day, Rachel Ray did her version of a 5 minute one involving chipits and sweet and condensed milk. Right there...that would kill it!!!

Me too! I have them putting in 2 crowns on Jan 10th. They prepped the back right bottom one today to replace a filling and the one next to it last Monday to replace one that was crowned 35 years ago when I was 15. I know what you mean the one today hurt more since it still has the nerve. The one from last week had already had a root canal. I had WW Taco Salad with 1 chip-too crunchie. I took 2 Ibrophen and it helped. The dental assistant said everyone is trying to get their work done before the end of the year. I have stayed in my points easily today since I haven't had a desire to eat much but will eat at least my 22 to keep up my goal for the Christmas Challenge.

Hello Ladies,
Most of you are already familiar with me. Well I have been really embarrassed to post because I only lost two pounds on the turkey day challenge which I started. I am sooooo bummmmed about that, but anyway today is a new day. At least I didn't gain. I think I am going to re-enroll in the meeting because they really help me. But anyway I am going to join this challenge with the hopes of staying on track. And I am not trying to make excuses, but losing weight has been the toughest struggle that I have had to deal with. I know that you all are a great support system, but I just don't know what is wrong. My eating habits still suck but I have been trying to exercise. And I did get a new scale. So it is on now.
OK that is enough of me rambling.
My Christmas Challenge Goals Are:
1. Drink 64oz water daily
2. Do 30 minutes of cardio 3x week
3. Stick to flex plan (and I mean it this time)
4. lose 5 pounds by christmas (I don't want to feel overwhelmed)

Checking in, sorry I missed yesterday. I'm doing good, yesterday at dd's soccer awards banquet I had two pieces of pizza, but I had planned to and I kept with in my points/calories for the day. My workout is finished for the day, I've already had 24 oz. of water and now I'm off to the shower and then to get kids up and ready for school.
I may have set my Christmas goal a little to low to be realistic, so I'm thinking about revising it. I'm not sure yet?

Good Morning!!!
I forgot to weigh in yesterday amid my full morning of errands and dentist woes....I gained half a pound. No big deal though....for lack of a better way to say it.....I NEED SOME FIBRE HELP!!! Usually its not a problem for me, but its been a couple of days or so.......SORRY!!! hehe...but its just us girls!! hehe
CONGRATULATIONS to the LOSERS!!!:carrot: WOOHOOO...you all are doing so well. :cheer:
Healthygoals.....I wish the one crown from yesterday was it.....I also go back Jan 16th for 2 more!!! I wish I had taken better care of my teeth when I was younger. Now all the old fillings are cracking along with the edges of my teeth!!! ARGH!!!!:tantrum:
Nice to meet you Miss McCoy.....Good for you for taking that first step!!! You have listed some great daily goals. I'm sure you are to the challenge!!! We are all here to help each other.
huntersmommy
11-29-2005, 12:36 PM
angel-eyes sorry you are having the teeth problems as far as fiber just increase those greens maybe a bran cereal would help not sure if that helps or not. but, your right its just a girls we can talk about anything :) and even if you gained a half a pound alot of things can contribute to that and dont sweat it girl you can do it :) get back on the wagon today and get that water in and stay on plan and move you got to move to lose :)
libbysmom03
11-29-2005, 03:27 PM
Angie-I too like you don't normally see the scale move until Friday and sometimes even not until Sat. my WI day..so i won't be too disapointed if I don't lose...I'm in this for the long haul so an early WI won't get me down.

Hi Ladies!
Angie-Your little boy is a doll! How cute.
Miss McCoy-thanks to you starting these holiday challenges, we're all here! Thank you! Hey, 2lbs. loss is great-at least not a gain!
It sounds like everyone's doing well! I'm back onplan now, it feels good to have my eating in control. It's cold here in Wisconsin, so couldn't run much more than 20 mins, but was glad that I got out.
Almost middle of the week! Hooray!
Take care everyone!

Good Morning Ladies,
i would like to thank all of you for the encouragement, I am not going to give up this time. But I do need some advise. I go to school in the day and immediately go to work afterwards. I usually have my dinner at work around 6:00 pm. I try to make that my cut off. But when I arrive home at about 9:30 I eat all over again. How can I train my self to not eat when I am at home (after I've already eaten dinner). Give me some ideas of what I can do. Well im off to the grocery store to buy lots of veggies and workout.
Huntersmommie- That is a great picture of you and your little one.He is a cutie pie and I think he looks just like you.

Angie-Really enjoyed the pic! I had a pic in the Members Gallery, but I don't see a thing for the Member's Gallery anymore..not sure if I am looking in the right place or not. I will have to move it into my profile.
Molly-Girl way to get outside and run!! As my trainer says..some cardio is better than no cardio!
Stagemom-Glad you had a good OP day.
Miss McCoy-Maybe just allow yourself a snack when you get home instead of a meal...like Apple and Peanut butter or a small salad. That way you are eating something but just not a whole meal.
Well I too had a good OP day yesterday and will WI tomorrow...my scale has not moved so I am thinking it won't before WI but that is ok as I stated in another post. We have a wedding to go to this weekend and I am sorta worried about the eating part of it...hopefully I am smart about everything.

Angel eyes yes I did see it. WOW what a motivator. I also went to the gym today had an awesome workout. I actually ran about 2 laps, havenot done that in years. I am doing soooo well today that i hope I continue on this path. I am sososso sick of being heavy. I am actually sick of myself so I guess that is good. It will take time but we can all battle this with huge success. I have to weigh in on Friday and I need to be down to my starting weight before 2weekends ago. I think it is about 3pds . I have to do this. Just to keep the motivation. I should have tape the biggest looser. Anyway off to refill the water jug. Good luck everyone.

Hey Ladies!
How is your Wednesday going? I goofed up today. One of my roommates has a plate of Christmas cookies out in the kitchen, and I couldn't help but eat one. Now, that wouldn't be so bad...but I ate three more! I'm owning up to it, though, and put it in my journal. I'll have to go to bed early tonight, since I don't have any more points left! I'm so bad when it comes to temptation! Luckily, my aerobics class made me feel not quite as guilty about it.
Weigh in for me is Monday, so we'll see then how I do!
Take care, girls!

Yes it is amazing....very inspiring...ok I ate fast food for 2 meals yesterday..now I stayed within my pts but was up 1.5 lbs this morning on the scale..OMG..I was going to go WI today but I found another meeting I can go to tomorrow..I am hoping this is just sodium...youch!! At least this way I will only be weighing in 1 day early. Don't think I will see a loss though..that stinks b/c I have stayed within pts this week...must not have gotten in enough veggies and fruits...at least I know what I did wrong and can correct it.

12-01-2005, 01:27 PM
Morning girls....
Stagemom.....way to go!! another pound bites the dust!!! lol
Libbysmom..... I love Jillians workouts. I have been doing them for almost 5 weeks now. I have increased my weights from starting at 5lbs and a few 8 lbs....to now 12 lbs and 15 lbs!!!! Now keep in mind that I still have a journey yet to go, but on some of the arm movements....I can see some muscle ripples!!! I feel so much better with a concrete plan to follow. Page by page, its very straight forward and makes alot of sense. I would reccommend the book. Hey? why not put it on your Santa wish list!!!
I think you may be right about the levels of sodium but ALSO SUGAR!!! Somewhere I remember reading that everything at McDonalds has high levels of sugar. Thats what makes most of their foods addictive. You feel that 'ahhhh' satiation and then 2 hrs later....feel the edgey crash. Flush it out GF....drink lots and lots of water!!!!
I had a great day yesterday and then today, hit the gym right after ds's bus. With the new heart rate monitor I even ran today for the first time for almost 25 minutes. Sure surprized the heck out of me!!! I always cover up the minutes readout on the treadmill with a magazine, and since I was focused on the readout of the new treadmill "cardio" program...forgot all about what I was really doing and for how long!!! **great tip btw** I had my tunes on and that was it. I burned almost 700 calories in 45 minutes.....WOOHOOOOO:carrot: :carrot:

Stagemom and angel eyes way to go. Libbys mom just drink that water and you should be ok. Just remind yourself that you did do good regradless cuz you stayed within your point range. I am doing so well it is freaking me out. I hope this is sit for me. I ran even furter today. Man what an intense workout. That totally makes me focuse cuz I worked so dangf hard it is not worth The bad eating. What work out are you all doing. I think I missed something? Is Jillian from the biggest loser ? I may have to look into this better. Angel eyes ,How long have you been lifting? Molly hang in there, we are only human. take one day at a time
libbysmom03
12-01-2005, 03:18 PM
Angel-eyes-WOW 700 calories...that is what I really need to get into...running and stepping up the pace a bit...I think I will get Jillian's Book. I have been reading the thread over there on the BL forum and saw the thing about the heart rate monitor..I may have to look into that as well. Thanks for the mention about the sugar in the food..I never even thought about that...thanks again...downing the H20 as we speak! Great job on the exercise!
Angie-Awesome job on the hr of workout!
Stagemom-Congrats on the loss...awesome job!
Well the girls here at work wanted to buy me lunch today so I got a grilled chicken salad with low fat dressing...thinking that was a good choice. I figured the pts though and still have very little for dinner..thats ok though I will eat a bunch of veggies. I have these chicken breasts from Swann's that are 2 pts...isnt that awesome? Makes for a low pt dinner!!

DJsmommy-I think we were posting at the same time...great job on the exercise. If you go to the Biggest Loser thread they have a forum started on Jillian Michael's new book she put out..she is one of the trainers from the Biggest Loser. It looks really interesting. I work out at a gym 5-6 days a week doing 30-45 min of cardio and weights...I was working with a trainer but it just got to be too much money, but now I know what I need to do.

Thanks Libbysmom!! I've just sort of felt I was 'coasting' through the last few weeks and needed to take it to the next level. After Jillians workout, I always did 30 minutes of cardio on the treadmill. I set it at incline 5 and speed 3.8 and that was my thing. I've lost only a few pounds in the last 3 weeks (although I had bronchitis and working out was difficult, coughing and all) but still !!! After watching TBL on Tuesday night, I thought I needed a push to get the scale going downward again. I was also thinking that I didn't want to ONLY be back peddling and come January not to lose any more weight. Believe me....I WAS SHOCKED to see how many calories I had burned and will definitely push myself into doing THAT AGAIN!!!
djmommy......Yes, I am doing Jillian Michaels program from her book "winning by losing". It is a great book and well worth the read. Her biggest idea, is that in order to burn more calories, you need to build more muscle. You won't get "hulk style" muscles but a definite tone and strengthening to them. You won't believe you have any muscles under the flab....BUT YOU DO!!! hehe, it takes a bit of work is all. The other thing she believes in, is that you need to excercise/weight lift at your maximum heart rate. (hence the heart rate monitor)....its that heart raising that puts you into more fat burn and caloric expenditure. Something like that, she says it much better though!!!

Hey all, I'm just enjoying my afternoon coffee and watching the snow fall outside. It's just little flurries that are not sticking to anything thank goodness. We have to go out tonight for rehearsal so hopefully this will be as bad as the storm gets! So far so good on the eating today, I'm trying to be a little conservative because I'm making Spinach Baked Mac & Cheese tonight. I'm using low fat cheese and whole wheat pasta, but I'm not sure yet how many calories a serving is going to be.

The thing with my family, it's my mom's side, is that to my mom and her sisters being overweight is equal to "bad." All of my cousins, well the female ones, struggle with our weight. Some more than others, but it's all of us. If you are down in weight you are praised and held up as "the example" for everyone else. I know that since I have been working out and have lost weight that my aunts will make a big deal about it in front of their daughters who haven't. I really wish that weight was not such a focus for them. I know it comes from my Grandma, the woman who the day after I gave birth told me I should go buy some Dexitrim. I just hate that it makes it feel like their love is so conditional, like when you are thinner you are worthy of more love, than when you are not.
Wow this got long! I'm just rambling, it helps just to put it out there and be aware of it.

yeah i come from a family like that and its very hard i grew up listening to my mom being told she needed to do something about my weight all the time and I was pg and my grannie wanted to make me clothes and she measured me and said my gosh i am as big as you in the middle of a fabric store very loudly i get hounded bout my weight everytime i call home to ohio not exactly what i wnat the focus to be when i call home to the family ya know. its hard its always been hard and yes i agree your weight shouldnt affect the attention you get. I'm sorry you hvae to go through that its very painful. BIG HUGS

marcie,
how are you doing today? how was weigh in?
healthygoals
12-02-2005, 04:04 PM
I know what you mean about being valued by weight and looks.
My Mom joined a weight losing club when I was 12. I am 50 now. Weight has been a focus for her ever since. If family members are up in weight she will always find a way to put in the conversation "I wish so and so would lose weight" We have diabetes in our family and she always uses that as the REASON for her comments. Every conversation includes weight and diabetes. Now that my daughter and I are losing weight it is "well you know you may not be able to lose or keep it off". She does not think about how negative it sounds and it has followed my whole life. I just have to remember my value as a person is separate from that. I look at who I am not what I am. I am a good person who tries to do good to/for others and my looks or my weight are not how I value myself. We have to tune out those that would discourage us and look to those, like this group that give us words of encouragment.

Well guys I weighed myself today. I am down 2pds and I really should not have weighed in ubtil Monday that would have been a true week of watching my pts etc.. I am 1pd up from my initail loss. Anyway Now I am conquering the monthly hunger and thirst for that matter. I know I will get the water in but I do not know about the power to say NO to the junk. Oh well I am aware of it so hopefully I will pull through. Why do we women have to have all the burden?I did not work out today. I am resting my leg was having spasms so I may have over done it. Tomorrow I will work out. I hope you all are successful this weekend. I am going to but the book everyone seems to talking about by jillian from biggest looser.

great job ms mccoy!!!!!!! See you can do it!
Huntersmomy, i feel ya on the whole weight issue growing up. My Mom put me on my 1st diet when I was in 3rd grade and I continue to this day. I often wonder if she never did if I would have the weight problem I have now. I think it's because she had a weight problem too and hoped that if she could get me to lose weight then I wouldnt have to deal with her problems. My 6yr old daughter has been obsessed with her weight since she was 3 thanks to DH always complaining he was getting fat. you know because he gains and loses the same 10lbs without trying. Anyways, I always talk to Kiera about the fact that she is not fat and since I started ww the first time, I tell her that im not on a diet that im eating healthier and exercising to get my body healthy. Since my Mom always focused on being fat and eating. I never say anything about how unhappy I am with myself, because I dont want those thoughts imposed on her. At her last well child check up, her doctor and myself explained to her about the importance of being healty. He did an incredable job explaining to her that you can eat anything in moderation and that her focus needs to be on being healty and to exercise and it helped her alot.

I got a real boost to my confidence level today for all the hardwork with the exercise and eating habit change and it was so awesome my parents are getting me an old navy gift card for christmas and I figured while we were in town i would go in and look around see what i liked and guess what I grabbed a pair of 14 jeans and an xlarge top i figured i would have to fight the jeans up and suck it in to button them and guess what they went on like butter :) and the xlarge top was to big and it was one of their tiny fit tees i cant believe it im realy tickeled with this.
anna ,
i think you are doing a great job with your daughter thank goodness the chain doesnt carry on I know i will definitely not make weight an issue with my lil guy growing up i know we know you know how terribly painful it is to grow up that way.

Huntermommy you are awesome, gosh you go girl. You have lost a lot of weight. How long has it taken you? Do you have alot of bad days.? Are you doing core or pts or what.?You are an inspiration..... all of you who have shown this can be done. WHOOHOO* I was doing so good up until yesterday. The monthly curse is here and I can not say NO to salty or junk food. I tried, I did better but still not great.I need to lose 40 pds. I have only lost 4pds up 1. I really want to get back into my 14 . I was on sb and lost 16 pds 2 years ago but had some health issues and put it all back on. Than my husband was transfered to another state for work. He went for a year before we moved and I held down the fort here at home, by myself. Well I tried to lose and I did but when summer came I could no longer work out and the kids were home, and I had to get ready to move , the stress kicked in. I gained15pds in 3months.I also have a thyroid problem so I know I will have slow loses. But you are awesome, way to go.

actually nope dont hve bad days in the beginning it was off and on with dieting trying atkins and sugar busters and weight watchers on my own since i had been before and had the stuff i knew what to do without the meetings then I rejoined the meetings the weight was coming off but, then my husbands father passed away rather unexpectedly while we were there to visit its a long story we stayed with some friends of his so it was impossible for the month that we were there to stay on plan when we got back home i was back on plan and have been since april. my son is 20 1/2 months old so you could take off bout 3 months which would in that time frame cover his first 6 weeks when they say dont diet especially since I was trying to bf him and then the time we spent in arkansas when his dad passed so i guess you could say its taken me 17 1/2 months so far to lose that weight that i have i stay on plan even during the holidays workout everyday atleast an hour or more and drink the water so im very strict with my change in life but, i want to see my lil boy grow up if you really work this plan you can lose that weight we all can :)

Well I survived the family party! It was as I expected, my aunts made a big deal about my weight loss, and my mom had obviously done some "mom bragging" about me working out "all the time." I tried to really make light of it and change the subject when it came up. Not that I'm not proud of myself for committing to working out and getting healthy and fit. It's just that I hate being praised in front of my cousins who all struggle with their weight, and are very heavy. It just makes my aunts love feel so conditional. If any of this makes sense. I'm just glad the party is over and I don't have to see them for a few months!
:gift2: Christmas weigh in- I usually weigh in on Thursdays. I will weigh myself again Christmas morning though. That will force me to be very strict with myself Christmas eve at my sil's.

hmmm....not sure what happened to my morning's post but......
Hey girls. My car needed an unexpected service today and so I didn't make it to the gym. I did HOWEVER pop a WATP's tape in and did the 3 mile version. YEAH...for me!! I thought there is no way I'm going to miss working out at SOMETHING. Turns out I burned 450 calories. So that is something.
Angie....Good luck with weigh in tommorow. Mine was today and showed a .5 lb loss. I have TOM visiting tommorow while I am at the dentist. NOW that sounds like alot of fun eh?
Michelle.......Family get togethers can be soooo frustrating. Sounds like you did an awesome job coping (in your new outfit nonetheless!!!)

Hunters mommy You Rock. Thank you soo much for the info. I did pretty good. I ordered the broc and beef with a small amount of rice. I also had the wonton soup, which was so good. It had shrimp in it. Yumm I did not drink and had lots of water. I came home with half of it.Before,I would of had an egg roll and fried rice lots and ate the whole meal. So even if I did go over my points I know I made better choices. I told the girls I wouldn't be able to do a cookie exchange. I just do not want those things around. I have to make some anyway and I think I will freeze them and put them in the freezer outside. Out of sight out of mind. Anyway congratulations Anna on you lose too.Chat later

Good luck on the wi Michelle. I actually worked out this morning with the kids home. I have not done that since they were babies. They had a late start today and my lil one will not be going to school at all, soooo I dug out some tae bo tapes that I never used, and put that baby on and boy what an intense workout . I only did the instructional and an 8 min one and it kicked my butt. I may do it later too. My older boy did it with me for a bit he was cute. Anyway even though my choices were good last night I went overon my pts. I have to do sooso good today. I think it may be a soup and salad day. Good luck girls Stay focused. Oh yeah Huntersmommy what part of ohio were you from? We just moved here 3 months ago, from Michigan. Sounds like you may have been in the snow belt. We are in Columbus area.I miss the snow ,not the driving part but the whiteness. We are suppose to get some snow on Thurs. People say we will not get it like Mi. My kids are bummed. Hi Huntersmommy.....speaking about Santa. On Saturday we went to breakfast with Santa and my 8 yo said..."he's not the real santa you know?" and I thought...hmm,where is he going with this, so I said."yes, I know. Do you honestly believe that Santa would be sitting here relaxing, with so much work to be done? He's got to oversea all the toys, all the elves....of course that's not the real santa....he's a look-a-like Santa." Ds looked at me and said...' I knew it!' phew....diverted that one!!! I would like him to believe just a little bit longer!!!
I just got back from the dentist and needed 3 needles to numb my tooth area. Well....she hit a nerve and boy...it gave me an electrical shock feeling....not once but she hit it twice!!! OMG...it really freaked me out...I was shaking, and the tears were streaming down the sides of my face. :yikes: Glad THATS over!!!
The cheesy veggie soup is sooooo easy. Gotta a pen?
5 Cups chicken stock (I buy the powder low sodium stock and mix with water)
2 lbs of any frozen veggies
4 oz cubed velveeta light cheese.
1/2 tsp of minced garlic
* You can also add a can of drained diced tomatoes*there is no wrong way to make this....
Bring the chicken stock, garlic and veggies to a boil and cook for 5-10 minutes. Let cool down a bit and then added the cubed cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Makes 10 servings for 1 pt each. YUM YUM

thanks for the recipe.. good job mom on explaining santa have the fun of thist time is seeing the joy on your lil ones face i know this year is going to be so exciting for our lil guy he was only 9 months old last year. kids are so so smart sometimes to smart for our good. lol..
my dh told me when he was growing up something was on tv and adam went to his mom and dad and said guys I hate to tell ya this but, theres no such thing as santa I guess they laughed and told him he was right.
well this morning I did 15 minutes of my watp high calorie 2 mile walk which worked out to the first mile of it well thats when i stopped when she said we had done a mile had to get my lil guy out of the high chair and into the tub
so hes napping i just got done doing the entire video of watp 2 mile 30 minutes and then the firm up fast 30 minutes and i have added 2lbs weights to both workouts :) hopefully by summer when i wave my arms wont still be waving long after i have stopped.
so i have gotten in an hour and 15 minutes in workout time today hoping to get something in later before going to bed. i was so sick yesterday think i'm getting a cold i coudlnt breathe i felt just awful soon as my lil guy fell asleep i was out like a light. so i need to work in 2 extra workouts this week well atleast an extra hour so if i add on here and there i like to atleast get an hour or abetter a day i'll be back on track with my workout schedule. feel much better today still congested and cant taste anything which is good makes me not want to eat i still do i just dont enjoy it as much.
well i'm off to get some stuff done arund the house i'm boxing up all the clothes that are to big and sending them to my mom in ohio she is going to try on what she can out of the stuff i send her and keep what she wants and then distribute the rest between my 2 sil all of the women in my family struggle with weight issues well other than my moms sister and her 2 daughters and my grannie . ugggh which is where the harrassment comes from about weight in my family ..
alright i'm off. everyone have a great day
i'm going to try and go get stuff tonight to make tht soup it just sounds so good especially on cold days like this
and all i can say about her hitting your nerve 2 times is ouchhhhh!! that electrical shock feeling really hurts and is a bit scarey of a feeling. hope you are feeling better soon.

On the subject of Santa, perhaps it's because my children have been involved in theater for so long, but they enjoy the whole "make-believe" aspect of Santa. Santa being real or not real isn't an issue, it's the fun of pretending like he is that we all enjoy. :gift2:

Hey ladies!! Sorry I have been MIA for the past few days...so much has been going on. I have been totally off plan since Sat. and I feel like crap. I was up +.6 at WI on Friday, then had a wedding to go to including the rehearsal dinner over the weekend. Then my parents came in to town for the first time and we ate out every meal so they could try some fine Louisiana Cuisine...which I felt the need to partake in. Tomorrow though I will be right on track. I hate not being OP and feel like crap.
Congrats to all you losers out there..there are so many of you! I am so proud of you guys! I did get in a workout in today so that was a little tiny bit good...anyway...like I said...sorry I have been MIA.

Hey girls...just a quickie before I head to bed.
Akiss....the cheese part of the soup is very disolved. Its a big chunk of cheese but its quite liquid-y because of the 5 cups of chicken stock. NOT at all thick. I usually buy 2 bags of frozen veggies, you know a nice mix...my fave is asperagus, green beans, carrots and zuccinni. But you could only do broccoli.
If you like a nice thick hearty soup....I have another great one...from ww's.....curried carrot soup. LOVE THAT ONE TOO!!!
5 Cups chicken stock (I use stock powder with no sodium and water)
2 pounds of carrots, cut up into chunks
1/2 tsp curry.
Bring everything to a boil for 15-20 minutes.Let cool. Using your blender, ladle broth and carrots into the blender and puree a bit at a time until all is done. Thats it!! 1 pt per cup.
LIbbysmom.....Glad you had a good time on the weekend, but now its like you said....back to OP!!! Good job on the workout.
I'm looking forward to my workout tommorow, today was rest day and well deserved (TOM and the dreaded dentist!) hehe...tommorow will be a piece of cake!! ooops, sorry!!

I am so far off the wagon. And I am having a hard time getting back on. Since Thanksgiving, it's been rough. I did well Thanksgiving day but then lost it. And not on the usual stuff either. I think I am masking what I really want (my downfall, chips) and shoving EVERYTHING else in my mouth to try to get rid of the one craving. When it would have been better to just eat the d@mn chips at this point! :lol3:
Anyway, I started logging again yesterday. I do my weigh in and start my week on Saturday. And I will go to the gym tomorrow night as well. There is a gym right downstairs and I am going to start using it. It's not too late to lose some of this weight, even if it's not my challenge goal -- but that's why they call it a challenge I suppose.
Could use some hugs and support!

Hi ladies, Oh my gosh I am so sore from that taebo tape. Thank god I did not do it again last night. My upper body is feeling it big time. That is all good though. I got my work out in this morning. 60 min. I ran a mile and walked for the rest than I did the eliptcor with the arm thing. ouch. but I survived. I may not be losing but I have decided that I am happy that I am working out again. I just feel better when I do. I have an awesome califlower soup recipoe I need to find for you all. You puree it with carrots and it is great. You would not even know it was calif. 1 pt too.My kids love it. I jwill dig it up. Good luck today girls, drink the water and stay focused.

djmommy recipe sounds great. great job on the workout . you know you may not show a loss on the scale but, also watch the change in your clothing i have definitely lost some inches since starting to workout so much more. your doing so great.
Jenn glad to see you here. baked chips are great for those cravings for chips. they taste really good i actually like baked doritos more than the regular type.
you are all doing great I'm so glad we have one another for support. :)

See it ticks me off though. Those baked chips ARE good! But at $4.00 a bag versus $.99 for a bag of regular....I am having a hard time with saving for a wedding and making ends meet.
I just wish the good for you stuff was cheaper for you as well!
I need to come up with yet another plan on how to get good food in me when I am broke. If I want to make it to around 175 by the wedding, I need to get back on track, in all aspects!
Thanks ladies...

Hello~ I am new to the boards, but not to Weight Watchers I have been member since 01, I quit last summer and rejoined in the fall. I have had my ups and downs again. Last week I lost 6 pounds and now at a total so far of 9 pounds.
I would like to join the challenge.
I want to lose 6 pounds by Christmas
Stick to drinking my water and writing down.
And my biggest down fall staying away from Fast Food.
Hope to meet some friends in here who I can help with support and they can help me to so I dont fall off again

Good Morning girls!! Nice to see some new faces. :welcome3:
Jennie107....Hang in there!! Been there, done that! I would take it in small baby steps. Get one good OP meal under your belt and build from there until you have a full day OP. I would seriously get rid of those chips. Besides, who can have just one serving? That sounds like its a trigger for you, if you need that crunchy feeling, what about baby carrots in ff dip? Or read a book, but whatever....keep those fingers busy!!!
ogibson....Great job on getting in your workout!! Have we met before? If not, nice to meet you.
cryket.....Nice to meet you too!! If you've been a ww member before, you can give us lots of tips and great recipies!!! Are you doing the meetings or just at home? Great job on the weight loss!!
djmommy....your cauliflower soup sounds like my curried carrot soup!! Just perfect for a cold snowy day!! ouch...your workout sounds like it was the bomb!!! good job.
I just got back from the gym. I did my usual,... :tread: turn on the treadmill, got my music on and started reading a magazine. Before I knew it, I had run 3 miles!!!! HOLY COW!!! I feel so PUMPED That was in addition to Jillians workout before, so woohoo!!! There is no way next weighin I'm going to be the same yoyo weight!!!:carrot:
Anyone I missed?....Hope you're staying warm and having a great workout!! Stay OP!!!

Instead of chips. What about popcorn, it gives you the salty taste and a little crunch, plus its more bang for your point!!!
Welcome to our new comers!
Im feeling kind of down today. I jumped on the scale this morning and im up 2lbs. I dont get why. I have stayed in my points. I have been drinking 64oz + a day and i've been exercising. I just feel so discouraged right now. I had some cereal for breakfast and I decided to stick with popcorn and water for lunch instead of hitting fast food on my lunch break. I just dont get what's going on with my body. I wanted to lose 3lbs this week and im up 2.
Maybe TOM is coming soon. I dont know!!!!! HELP!

Just try to keep upbeat attitude.
Will help anyway I can. As I also need the help and support too

jenne I agree popcorn is good i get the mini bags of 94% fat free and its only 2 pts a bag and so wonderful which is right its a great alternative to chips and not very expensive. some things are very expensive when your on a budget and trying to eat healthy it does amaze me how its chepaer to eat junk than it is to eat healthy atleast thats how the grocery stores are around here. so i really feeel for you there. i am a stay at home mom we have an almost 21 month old now and dh is in the military and lets just say his pay is crap and i'll leave it at that but, we have no family here and if i work for what they pay here everything would go right back out in daycare not ot mention the fact he would be stuck there 50 hours a week so the idea of someone else raising my child and paying them to do it while i work a crap job wasnt going to work for us so we are single family income and months do get tight. i'll try and help you figure out some good cost effective meal planning.

anna,
your doing great so many things can make our weight fluctuate from day to day as women are bodies retain water like its nobodies business for any number of reason so it could be TOM is coming and water retention from that something salty causes you to hold water anything so dont get down just keep working it and working out you are doing fabulous :)

well yesterday morning i got up and did 30 min watp 2 mile and then when my lil guy took his nap I did 1 hour 30 min of it being watp 2 mile and 30 min firm up fast boy i'm really telling the difference my tummy is starting to get some shape to it again after the birth of my lil boy i thought i would never have a flatter tummy again i've always no matter what i weigh wether it be 120 or 160 i alwasy have the lower belly pooch bellow your belly button just flatter abs dont know why that is i hate hopefully my firm up fast will help flatten that problem area .
well lets see had to get up and wrap some presents this morning the joy of having to mail xmas presents off thought we were done but, got some surprise presents in the mail for my lil boy so back to mailing again
going to do my 1 hour workout while lil man sleeps this afternoon and hopefully get in that last 15 minutes or more to make up for tuesday. feeling tons better today .
drink that water stay on plan and move move move. we can do this together girls. :)

Good morning~ Just sitting here having my breakfast. Huntersmommy thanks for the warm welcome. You are so right, I decided it was time to get back on Weight Watchers has been on it since 01, but fell off last summer. I also know that TOM is hard time i always gained 1 or 2 pounds but knows it will come off. I just keep on doing my routine like before. Usually i pig out during that time, but not this time. And I feel so much better.
I gotta eventually work in a workout routine, but havent got up to that yet.
I find that i do alot better when I write everything down and drink my water.
And also learned from meetings its best not to get on the scales all the time at home.
We can do this girls~ :cheer:

cryket your right its very good to journal everything it keeps you very accountable for whats going in your mouth. so glad you could join us. i have found the watp videos are great i got mine off of ebay for a great price much cheaper than in the stores wanted to do that since didnt know if i would like it or not but, i love walk away the pounds with leslie sansone i have the 2 mile high calorie burn and its alot of fun and then i also have her firm up fast which is doing squats and lunges and weights and great workout for legs and the abs.
great job staying on plan during tom i know thats a challenge for us girls :) i dont know but, the call of chocolate and salty chips come to mind every time.
i weigh myself everyday on scales at home but, they do fluctuate alot other thing i hate my starting weight is from my home scale but, i always weigh less on my scale than i do at ww meetings so for my tickers i go by the meetings of course since my goal weight has to come from them to get my lifetime but, seeing the numbers on my scale makes me feel great especially since i know what the home one said when i started. tom is a terrible time to be a weigh fanatic i drive my hubby crazy with weighing myself. habit i gotta break.
your right we can do this girls :) lest all have a great on plan day.

djmommy have fun doing taeboe do you really enjoy it? have thought bout getting one. did my walk away the pounds for the first 15 minutes which equals a mile but, I did the entire thing with weights for the 15 minutes which that part isnt a part you normally use weights but, since lil man was eating I decided to pump it up a bit since i knew it would be a quickie this morning so i now have my workouts from tuesday made up now anything i do from today till sunday is on schedule or extra :) yeah that is why i started going back to meetings it keeps me accountable with the lady has me stand on the scale
have a great day :)

Morning all!
Tomorrow I am back on the bus. Well, I am trying today but it will be nearly impossible but I am holding myself accountable, logging all my food in, and am vowing to do some walking tomorrow!
I did buy some Kettle Corn at the store last night. Not enough time to pop it though. Also bought some FF Pringles.
HB (god love her!) is committed to helping me lose the weight (especially before our wedding). So we sat down last night and budgeted to eat well for 4 weeks. Food shopping every Sunday. We chose 6 meals for the week and will eat those. I just have to come up with some more snack ideas and breakfast ideas.
I like to eat breakfast at work (I hate eating first thing when I get up). Aside from oatmeal, any cereals you all like? Any other ideas?
I always have a Smart Ones and a salad for lunch and don't mind that.
Thanks for the ideas and the support girls. You all are amazing and inspirational. I've been to this forum before but never got a welcome so I stayed away. How times have changed!
Oh, and HB and I will walk at least 1 time on the weekends, together, and I hit the gym alone M-W. I am going to take it day-by-day. Or in this case, do a test month and see how it goes.
Thanks all! And if you have any ideas, let me know.

Morning girls.
Hey...here's a great snack I just discovered. Get a whole wheat (high fibre) tortilla, some ff cream cheese, 1/2 tsp of cocoa powder, and a pkt of splenda. Spread it all around on the tortilla and then add cut up strawberries. Roll it up and you're in HEAVEN!!! OMG!!! This is soooo good, and very healthy too. I'm so clever sometimes!!!
Jennie.....Some of my quick breakfast ideas are.....
I poach some eggs every few days and just have them ready in the fridge for me to grab. So that being said.....
-toast a ww's english muffin, while that is toasting. Nuke the already cooked egg in the micro for 15 secs (just to warm it up) slap on a pc of low fat cheese slice and voila....a pseudo egg mcmuffin
-toast 2 99% ff special K waffles, and add 1/2 C ff cottage cheese and sliced strawberries. sprinkle with cinnamon. no need for syrup...honest!!
-chocolate cream cheese and strawberry rollup. takes 2 min to do.
-maple/brown sugar mini wheats, skim milk and nuke for 90 seconds....mmmm so delish!!
-2 pc whole wheat bread toasted, with a cheese slice between. for fun, add a small squirt of french's mustard. yum yum
Hope these help!!

Wow-
I haven't posted in so long! I've been so busy. I'm a college student, so it's that time right before the end of the semester where everyone is running around like crazy, finishing projects, writing papers, and studying for tests!
Last week it was TOM and I was crazily stuffing food in my face. I'm waiting until Monday to weigh myself, I'm doing much better now.
I saw a dietician yesterday through my school's health center, and she helped me get on track, too. I have high hopes for this upcoming Monday!
I'm off to the library to study, and work out afterwards.

I get along great with the hubby it is just that I miss my friends , there is nothing like a true friend. djmommy,
i tell ya i've been here in south carolina and there are still times it throws me for a bad loop being so far from home. I try to keep busy I do call home everyday i mean everyday and sometimes a few times in a day especially on weekends when its free with the cellphone well not free but, unlimited i only get home once a year if i am lucky my parents havent been down here in 2 years when i first moved here i tried to be so tough but, i wasnt i was a mess for bout the first year then it got sorta easier if you can say it gets easier just takes time find hobbies things to keep ya busy. the holidays i think are the worst there was one year that my mom sent me a video it might have been my first xmas away and all the family was there then they zoom in on a picture of me and my hubby and start talking bout how much they miss me and how they wish i was there and everyone was crying it was awful and they sent that to me but, ya know the videos i pull them out every once in a while and look at everybody and think bout things and how much i miss them but, this is the worst time of the year for missing them. so go ahead and cry and hurt but, dont feed the hurt exercise instead stay on plan look at pictures call home i know its hard my hubby has 8 years left in the airforce and in that 8 years who knows where we will end up but someday i will be a little bit closer to home. BIG HUGS

Hey Everyone!
The Holidays are hard when you are away from the ones you love. My Sister had a big falling out with the whole family earlier this year. Long Story!!!!, but as much as you are mad at someone you still love them. I started to realize the day after Thanksgiving, when I went shopping. That's been our thing for years to get up really early and go shopping together all day and then out to eat when were finished. So this year it was kinda sad to go bymyself. Im just greatful that she lets my Nephew come around still to see all of us.
Well, I was right about the 2lbs it was TOM and I did so bad yesterday! I dont know how many points I had because I had a Christmas Party to go to and it was buffett. I did stick to 1 plate, but had a cookie too. Now I have another Christmas Party to go to tonight. So Im just going to use my 2 free drinks for 2 bottles of Bud Light that way I know how many points are in it. I dont know what food they are going to have, but of course it's buffett again. It's a local Seafood place call Crab Trap. I have been snacking on 0 point veggies for lunch and didnt have time for breakfast since I overslept this morning so I should have plenty of points for tonight. I just dont know why I keep slipping... Sunday though is definately a new day. Im scared to weigh in on Monday

I'm keeping my calories really low today to counter balance yesterday! I've completed two workouts today as well.
The incident yesterday at work has left me feeling emotionally fragile. I hate this feeling, and I'm trying to do some self talk to keep myself strong. I've decided that the next three weeks are going to be about me getting as strong and lean as I physically can. I guess because I feel more in control of my physical self, than my emotional self right now.

DJ'smommy-I have been here in Louisiana for about 10 months. We moved 12hrs away from my family. I am so homesick it isn't even funny. I have had a very hard time making friends here and it sucks. I am not sure why, but it seems like everyone here already has plenty of friends...I know it just takes time but it is hard in the meantime. If you ever need to talk let me know! I know exactly how you feel!! It is hard but we will make it through it!

Angie congrats on the new size!!! Well I feel like I did good yesterday. All day I only ate 0 point veggies so I could splurge last night. I had a few bud lights and from the buffett I ate some veggies off the veggie tray, boiled shrimp, grilled grouper, and 1/2 a crab cake. And I didnt clear my plate. So hoping that will make up for Friday.
My other 1/2 wants BBQ'd Ribs & Potato Salad today for dinner. Maybe I will just have a BBQ'd Chicken Brest and Salad. I dont know what im going to do to stay good with him around.... I have my close Friend's Birthday lunch on Monday. We are going to this great place on the beach. They have this Shrimp Salad with a coconut dressing it is so yummy. that salad sounds so good. well i guess if i would have read this last page i would have seen how you did at the buffet sorry i was trying to make sure I didnt miss anyone from yesterday. you did a great job :) you know you could get the chicken and peel the skin off so you dont eat the barbeque part and salad woudl be great to go along with it. you can do this . i know how hard it is to be trying to get healthy with a dh around that wants ice cream and barbeque and steak an dwings and everything else its hard. Ij ust keep telling myself that i can do this .. and i know you can to :)
djmommy
it will get easier with time. i'm sorry you have to be away from family. BIG HUGS .. we are here for ya.

Morning all!! :coffee:The days already drizzly and grey but nothings gonna rain on my parade!!!.....I lost another 2.5 pounds!!! :carrot: That puts me at 25 lbs lost!!! WHOOO WEEEEEE!!!!! The difference is incredible, using that fitday site. I must have barely been eating 1000-1100 calories before and not realized and doing the starvation mode. I'm eating soooo much more and quite a good variety of whole grains, fruit and lean meat. I think the added protein (ie..powder) has also helped. THANKS for all the support and motivation!!!! Last night while I was making dinner, I was trying to think of the last time I even had potatoes. Couldn't remember. I'm sure thats also helped. Another added bonus are my workouts.....I'm loving the treadmill these days. Its like a puzzle with all the pieces coming together to complete the picture. :cb: FINALLY ITS CLICKING and I'M NOT MISSING OUT ON ANYTHING!!! :cp:

well today is my off day for working out got on the scale this morning whhooo hooo 159 :carrot: really really hard to believe i'm so excited well we went shopping all weekend trying to spend the old navy gift card i had found the jeans i like tried them on never thought in a million years that when my card came and when i told mom and dad that was what I wanted that the jeans i liked there they would decide to quit carrying them so we drove to the store in columiba saturday an hour drive from my house  to find out that store didnt have any so we decided to try the one in florence where i had originally tried on the other pair well they didnt have them either which also is an hour from my house:mad: tried to find them on line and of course they are out of stock of the size i need but, grrr so i bought some stuff but, i'm going to take it back tried it all on again when i got home and decided i wasnt happy at all with it was kind of like i just settled on something just to get something then i know me it will sit in the closet and collect dust so taking it back and going to go shop the racks and new york & co had great luck there. got a really cute top the other day and then yesterday got this green really pretty flowery sheer top that has a hankerchief kinda a bottom and it just flows and its gathered at the bust and has short sleeves made me feel really great :) my lil boy was in the er sunday morning he started runnng a fever without any signs of what was going on he wasnt coughing or sneezing pullin on his ears figured maybe teeth but, after two doses of motrin and not being able to get his fever down off we went the dr said looked like his ear was just a tiny bit pink felt he may of just been getting an ear infection so in 21 months this is his 2nd ear infection poor lil guy so hes on zithromax for 5 days. so that was my weekend shopping and a hospital trip.
hope everyone had a great weekend and stayed on plan this is a new week ladies only 13 days till christmas 14 if you count today we can do this ladies lets stay focused :)

Take care, ladies! Have a good Monday!

Seems like I missed a few posts :lol3:
Angel Eyes -- thanks for the breakfast tips. I bought the waffles and will try the fruit and cottage cheese! It just frustrates me how expensive food is :)
Michelle -- HB stands for Honey Bunny. I guess I should explain. DH does not apply to me, since I don't have a husband and DB doesn't either, since I am not with a guy. So rather than type my girlfriend or fiance each time, I dubbed her HB. Sorry -- forgot I never explained that.
Marcie -- CONGRATS!!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
I had a good weekend and stayed OP mostly. Walked a few miles too!!! Now, no gym tonight but tomorrow for sure. HB and I go food shopping tonight to put my new plan in effect!!! I am going to menuize our week (for me, B L and D. Dinners for just HB) and buy only those foods needed to make those meals, as well as some snacks. Wish me luck!

Wow everyone is doing terrific. I need to jump on that wagon.Something has to start happening. It will if not now after the holidays. I did work out today. That tae bo is awesome. My bottom is so sore it hurts to sit. I tried to run today, nope to sore I walked but walked fast mostly uphill on the tread. My bottom hurt than too. I bet I will see some clothes fitting me better.Tommorow more tae bo. It makes me laugh because I am not even doing the hardest tape. Yikes I think that would just do me in. If you all can try it ,do, I bet the library has them. I know some are doing the firm. I bought it for my niece. Do you love it. I am thinking about asking for it myself. It will be nice to have something else here to do if I can not get out. Let me know what some of your favorite tapes are. Good luck everyone stay on plan you all are kicking butt.

jenne i always call it grocery shopping hmm wrong to love food shoppin hmm nope theres nothing wrong with liking to go. I hate going cause usually i'm by myself with my lil guy and he hates it so it ends up being a challenge to go or where i shop the cheapest place here it the walmart super center and its more like the hey this isle is big enough i'm going to block it up and not move when asked politely to move cause im to busy visiting nope not a fan of food shopping at all. i got on my scale tonight this morning it said 159 and tonight after the entire day it says i weigh 158 how wierd is that wonder now what it will be in the morning. hope everyone has a great evening have weigh in tomorrow post more then :)

Jennie....haha, I thought HB was hairy boyfriend!!! I was trying to figure it out every time you posted. I didn't get to the gym today either....today was errand/chore day. No excuses for tommorow though!! OKAY? ps....I LOVE grocery shopping also!! I read all the labels, look at the pkg's....find whats new. When we moved here (4 yr ago), all the stores were new and with different labels etc...it would take me almost 2 hours to do a groc. shop. hehe...I had alot of fun.
djmommy....how is your little one doing? Fevers are never a good sign. My boys would always spike a fever, usually 2 hours after going to bed if they had an ear infection. One year, ds had 8 ear infections!!! duh? do you think the meds are working dr.?? Hope he feels better soon!!

Congrats cryket and Angie on your losses!!!! :carrot:
I had a blast last night food shopping. I came home and HB and I went through the dinners we picked out and she helped me write down all the ingredients. We picked quick, no nonsense meals like quesediallas and soup and chopped salads and LF Stew. It was a blast. Then I went through and added lunches and breakfasts -- including the 99% FF Special K waffles with cottage cheese and berries (only I used SF frozen which aren't as good.) It was filling!
I also got my FAVORITE: CLEMENTINES=YUMMY!
I got 100 calorie snack packs peanut butter cookies to quash my sweet tooth and only brought ONE with me. I brought in some clementines and apples and carrots with FF Peppercorn Ranch dressing for snacks for the week. I feel prepared!
I am going to the gym at work tonight. Only, I haven't shaved my legs in a LONG time and forgot I had shorts packed in my gym bag. Oppsss!
I also lost 2 pounds on the scale this morning :)
happy Tuesday!

Jenne-way to set yourself up for success! I love shopping for groceries, too. I like the challenge of trying to find healthier versions of my favorite foods. I could spend hours in the grocery store...which is sort of sad..haha
Angie-I wish I could lose during my TOM! I'm jealous. Instead, I gain 10 pounds and break out! Not fun.
I'm pretty much on track still. Today wasn't as good as I'd like it to be. My Drawing class had a small party for our last class..doughnuts, cookies, hot chocolate..yikes! I did splurge, but I'll just keep that in the back of my mind for the rest of the week. Am planning on going to the gym today as well.
You gals are such inspiration to me! I love reading your posts, it really encourages me to keep at it.
Take care, and have a wonderful Tuesday!
