Over in calories again (there's a shocker for me on the weekend, eh? :p ), but I still think it all balances out throughout the course of the week. Anyway, here's Sunday:



Fruit Loops (the 1/3 les sugar kind) w/skim milk
2 Healthy Choice hot dogs on wheat buns topped w/melted American cheese w/mac n' cheese
2 Healthy Choice hotdogs (no buns) w/mac n' cheese (it's been FOREVER since I've had mac n' cheese, so I bought just 2 boxes and will save the other for a rainy day)
home-made milkshakes (1 was some sort of healthier Edy's vanilla ice cream--reduced sugar, fat, calories, something--skim milk, peanut butter, and a banana, and the other was minus the banana and replace with lite chocolate syrup...both were AMAZINGLY delicious--and high in cals :dizzy: )
Total: something like 2750 calories :o

Todays plan:


instant oatmeal
yogurt
sandwich [reduced-cal Wonder bread, natural peanut butter (peanuts only, not even any salt added), and no-sugar-added strawberry preserves]
Smartfood popcorn
2 turkey burgers w/Swiss cheese and bbq sauce on wheat buns w/instant noodle side (teriyaki flavor)
Total: comes to about 1475 calories

I wasn't at all well yesterday. :( I felt okay when I first woke up, but when I was in the bathroom I came over all hot and sweaty, and actually fainted! :?: So, I pottered about in my PJs all day. :o I feel much better today, though still a little weak. I might manage a wee walk later to blow out the cobwebs.

Sun 20/11:

Meal #1: 2 cups home-made creamy mushroom soup; 500 ml coffee.
Meal #2: 8 Triscuits, 2 oz gouda; 500 ml water.
Meal #3: 3 sushi maki rolls; 1 l water.
Meal #4: 1½ cups rice with beansprouts, onion, and spices cooked in 2 tsp.olive oil and vegetable stock; 1 l water.
Meal #5: 12 Triscuits, 3 LC Party Cubes, 1 oz gouda; 1 l water.
Extra Drinks: 750 ml water, 500 ml green tea.

Total kcals: 1565 (plus free veggies)

Exercise: None.

1 small 7 layer (although it was more like 4-5 layers :lol: ) salad
1 serving baby carrots, and half the dip that came with it (eating all of the dip would have been 15 grams of fat!!! :eek: )

1 cup green tea/1 cup orange spice tea in same mug

1 turkey/swiss/lettuce/tomato sammich in 5-7 grain bread
1 serving buttermilk ranch dressing
2 servings low sodium triscuits. :(

sticking to water now.

just snacky stuff @ Mom's while the Packers got spanked. :(

5-6 mini corndogs
1 Tbsp BBQ sauce
1 serving baby carrots
1 serving baby broccoli florets

Ali, its gotta be the antibiotics; I've had that exact same reaction where you break out in a cold sweat and pass out! :( I guess it means they're working, but still....

Today was committee ****, seeing as I'm on so many and there were 3 meetings today. The food provided wasn't exactly beneficial to my plan, but I ate small portions. Of course I had to work really late to catch up on all I didn't get done during the meetings, so I'm really tired and cranky right now ~ I know, I know, someone's about to offer me some whine to go with my cheese! ;)

I ended up adding onto yesterday's menu last night after dinner, so I was up to almost 1500 calories instead of being below 1200, which is still within a good range for me.

As for today:


yogurt
instant oatmeal
sandwich (light Wonder bread, no sugar added strawberry preserves, natural salt-free peanut butter)
100-calorie snack bag of Oreo crisps
chicken cordon bleu w/instant mashed potatoes
Total: only 1058 calories, but I'll come back and update if I add anything else

Hello everyone! I finally figured out how to put a picture in my avatar! This is my little boy, Brandon - he's 3 1/2 and absolutely yummy. He's making muscles like mommy :)

I also did the eliptical machine for 500 cals and abs.

Today, I have a yoga class and I'm going to try for 300 cals on the eliptical. My calorie goal per week is 2,000, I'm going to try for a little higher this week due to the Thanksgiving.

Your crankiness is probably as much to do with lack of Timmy's coffee as anything else, Jilly!

The anti-bios better had be working: I had another poor do yesterday, followed by a wicked migraine that's still lingering a little this morning. Bleagh, I'm not used to being sick, and I don't like it one bit.

Love the profile, Sandi! You're always so candid, and what you say really makes sense. You'll sail through Thanksgiving with your attitude that it's only one meal. :yes:

Looks as though everyone has had a great start to the week. :high: Of course, I have to be a contrary fish! :sorry:

I had my usual cereal etc. for brekkie with sushi maki and raw vegetables for lunch. After that I'm afraid I have no clue.... I know I ate rice, stuffed turkey breast, veggies, pumpkin bread, pie and ice cream (:?: I never eat pie and ice cream!), a big chocolate biscuit (maybe 2)....

So, the scale registered a 6 pound gain at my WI today. :eek: Maybe some is water, maybe not, :dunno: but I don't want to be scratting around for an excuse. It's overeating that got me fat in the first place, and denial and excuses that kept me there for so long. I must rein this in and stop being so complacent. Starting right now!

Any kicks up the bum and stern talking tos will be gratefully accepted.

we are having a potluck here @ work & it's Mexican themed. I have brought fruit salad (honeydew cubes, kiwi, maraschino cherries w/the juice rinsed off, mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, fresh strawberries & pomegranate seeds). Not so easy to do in cold weather, but I managed. :)

1/2 cup coffee
1/2 cup soy milk

16 oz cup fruit salad
1 small soft taco (there was almost no meat left by the time I got there)
2 servings chips
1 serving salsa
1 tsp chili cheese dip
1 serving guacamole

about a cup of water, working on another liter I just opened.

1 plate of nachos, with taco meat, tostitos queso dip, fresh tomatoes, lettuce & sour cream :ink:
16 oz cup of fruit salad

1 cup green tea/1 cup peach tea in same mug
8oz fruit salad

2 servings cheese triscuits :(
1 serving rosemary olive oil triscuits. :( On a more positive note, they taste just like Stovetop Stuffing. I will have to keep this in mind next time I want to fry up stuffing in butter & eat it.

Well, I didn't end up adding anything to my menu for yesterday, so I endd up at under 1100 calories for the day. We've been going to bed early since I feel really tired for some reason (around 8pm), so I think it's okay to not have as many calories since I don't have as long of a day :dizzy:

Today's menu:

instant oatmeal
yogurt
100-calorie snack bag of peanut butter cookies
wrap (low-cal garlic tortilla, fat-free cream cheese, swiss cheese, deli turkey, and lettuce)
shredded bbq chicken on wheat bun w/Sunchips
Total: a little under 1100 calories (2 days in a row, but I'm sure I'll make up for it plenty at Thanksgiving tomorrow :o )

afternoon snack yogurt

dinner i am hoping i can get this here - pizza hut Fit 'N Delicious™ Ham & Veggie (2 slices) 16oz h2o
calories - 300

after dinner snack -

1 1/4 cup rice checks w/ 1/2 cup skim milk
calories - 160

total calories for the day if i dont cheat- 1,048

3 slices of pizza w/ dinner will put me up to 1,198 depends if i am full

if by some chance my pizza hut doesnt carry this i'm getting a thin and crispy plain 1 slice 190 calories so i can have 2 slices for 380 :carrot:

Well, here we are in the home stretch to Thanksgiving, it actually feels like there's no one in all of NYC, except the tourists!

Doing well on the exercise front, of course, now I have an extra motivation. I did 400 cals on the Precor (100 more than planned) and a basic yoga class. I'm really getting better on flexibility, which is something I never had before. Now I can touch my toes! I'm going down later to workout.

Food was ok yesterday, I went 5 points over, but it's pretty rare that I do that.

2 - coffee
1 - egg whites
3 - luna bar
1 - veggie soup
5 - zone bar
2 - coffee
10 - chopped steak
5 - mashed potatoes

31 points (5 over)

Welcome to the thread, Krista! It's a great way to be accountable and see any trends in our eating patterns.

I'm still feeling very weak, but managed to get a short walk in yesterday. I'm too eager to cry off exercise altogether instead of just doing what I'm able to. Heh, I can always find an excuse for not exerting myself. :rollpin: I did pretty well on the food front too, which was just as well since I needed the pumpkin bread, and it doesn't come cheap in kcals.

Tues 22/11:

Breakfast: Shake (5 oz banana, 2 oz blueberries, crushed ice, ¼ cup 0% milk, ½ cup 2% plain yogurt) 500 ml coffee.
Lunch: 2 cups home-made beef & veggie soup; 1 l water.
Dinner: 3 oz pork tenderloin (baked), leeks, sprouts, 3 oz yam; 1 l water.
Snack: 2½ oz pumpkin bread; 500 ml water.
Extra Drinks: 1½ l water, 250 ml green tea, 500 ml coffee with 2 tblsp. light 6% cream.

Total kcals: 1542 (plus free veggies)

Exercise: 35 minute walk--and I was exhausted by this!

This post will be short and nasty cuz life sucks right now. Incredible stress at work and at home (one of the kids has been diagnosed with a serious heart condition) and I've had a migraine for two days that culminated in puking pretty much all last night. :barf: As for food ~ yesterday I had some light hot chocolate, a slice of wholewheat bread with peanut butter and for lunch had baby carrots, some brown rice and a baked chicken breast. After that the headache took over so I just drank water. Today I've had several cups of tea and some chicken noodle soup (all I could keep down). The headache has eased now and I'm going to bed to collapse in utter exhaustion :(

But I shall interrupt my pathetic little pity party to welcome new posters and welcome back those who've found their way home, to tell Beth that her son is a cutie patootie, to comment on how nice it was to see Sandi's smiling face on the home page and read her inspiring story, and to wish everyone who's celebrating Thanksgiving a great time and to remind them that if you must indulge, indulge in hugs rather than desserts! :angel:

P.S. - I hate Triscuits, so there, Ali and SAPF! :p

I went a little over my allowance because I ate an enormous dinner. :ink: It wasn't that I didn't feel full either; I was, in fact, stuffed. It was like some hideous pathological need to eat more. I will do better today. :yes:

Weds 23/11:

Breakfast: 1 cup Optimum Slim cereal, 1 oz seedless raisins, ½ cup 0% milk; 500 ml coffee.
Lunch: 2 cups home-made vegetable soup (carrot, garlic, onion, parsnip, squash, 6% cream); 1 l water.
Dinner: 2 cups rice, ¾ cup baked beans, mushrooms, 2 oz cheddar; 1 l water.
Snack: 2 oz pumpkin bread; 500 ml water.
Extra Drinks: 1 1 water, 500 ml coffee, 250 ml green tea.

Exercise: 20 minute bike ride with 20 minute walk.

DishyFishy, hee, I eat at McDonald's waaaaaay too much, sad but true. There's one near work and it's just habit to stop in. I have managed to curb burgers and fries to once a week or less, and I love their fruit and yogurt parfaits, I'm like addicted! :) They're really not that bad either, like 160 calories. And I dig their salads so mostly I'm good, just too much sodium, I'm sure.

And now for recent food choices (only one McDonalds, as I now have stock in... Luna Bars!):

Okay. I'm totally spitballing here on calories. I tried to be conservative, because I really just took a little bit (comparatively for me) of things at dinner. And then FitDay just estimates. It's definitely less than I've eaten at past Thanksgivings! I tried to just take a taste of everything, though I tasted some things more than others. I think I'm good at estimating portion sizes so here's trying...

Jill - (((HUGS))) I am so sorry to hear that one of the girls is having health problems. I also hope that the amazing medical Industry has answers for you. Is that the reason for your migrane? Poor thing. I hope you are feeling better soon and better news to report.

Not sure of exacts, but I know I was at least below 3000 calories on Thanksgiving Day, so being nearly 300 pounds, that should at least be a maintenance level for me :) As for today, started off with a bowl of granola cereal w.fresh strawberries and banana slices in skim milk and 3 frosted sugar cookies (breakfast of champions!). Now, all of the cookies and frosting are gone, so the rest of the day and weekend should be easier! Hmm...these updates to the site seem to have made it impossible for me to insert smilies, change font color, or change pretty much anything by clicking on the icons around my text box. So, good-bye, purple text (for now, anyway).

Doesn't sound as though too much damage was done yesterday. :) I'm glad you all had fun.

I was exhausted yesterday evening, and flopped into bed really early. It's a great cure of the night-time munchies, but not much use for getting stuff done.

Thurs 24/11:

Breakfast: 1 cup Optimum Slim cereal, 1 oz seedless raisins, ½ cup 0% milk; 500 ml coffee.
Lunch: 1¼ oz cheddar, 80 g bread, 2 oz turkey breast, 1 tblsp. Phili Light, tomatoes; 1 l water.
Dinner: 6 sushi maki rolls, red cabbage, cucumber, tomato; 1 l water.
Snack: ½ cup 2% plain yogurt, 5 Altoids Citrus Sours; 500 ml water.
Extra Drinks: 1½ 1 water, 500 ml green tea.

Total kcals: 1316 (plus free veggies)

Exercise: 45 minute walk.

I think I got back on track on wed- I realized again I hadn't gone to the store and stocked up on my foods. Wed I ate from the caterer we have at work, I won't say what I ate but I had 15 points for dinner and measured my spaghetti and sauce and drank lots of water.

Thursday was a hectic morning so didn't eat breakfast- yikes and neither did the kids!- we had thanksgiving dinner at noon and I had the stuff I normally won't get. My mother in law will put a cup of butter in her green beans and corn so I didn't touch them. I had a serving of ham, probably 2 servings of the fried turkey, mashed potatoes, a serving spoon of brocolli cheese and mac and cheese, and yes I had some fudge. I did not eat another meal, however I did eat another serving of turkey about 6 p.m. but nothing else.
I also walked a little over a mile after dinner.

I feel great about that!

Today I woke up early to shop before work.
I had a sonic breakfast burrito- 12 pts
and a large diet coke

believe it or not at lunch I got a smoked turkey sandwich from schlotskys and a diet coke

Dinner- we are going out on a date! We'll see what happens!

Jilly, I am really sorry to hear about your daughter's heart condition. Let us know more as her treatment develops. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

As I am without computer, I don't get here very often lately. Food has been pretty good lately with a shaky week earlier in the month. Exercise seems to run hot and cold AND I really notice the difference either way. Miss you guys. Hope to be back in a computer groove by mid December.

Everyone else: I am not afraid to post what I ate yesterday:

My strategy was to have "just a taste" of everything.

1 large coffee w/2 little cuplets of eggnog flavored creamer & some ice @ a gas station on the way. I would NOT recommend this flavor. I am lucky my mom stopped, she wasn't going to :eek: and I get a headache if I don't have my coffee. :coffee2:

1 little taste of the turkey & skin right when it came out of the oven (SOMEONE had to make sure it was good. And was it ever!)
1/2 can cherry Coke, before one of the kids ran off w/it

1 serving homemade pasta
1 spoonful sauce
2 homemade meatballs
1 slice bread
1-2 small pieces white meat turkey
1 spoonful stuffing
1 spoonful mashed potatoes
1 spoonful gravy
1-2 servings sweet potatoes (butter & some sort of sugar)
2 spoonfuls green beans w/bacon

1 small sliver Italian cream cake
1 small sliver pumpkin pie w/real whipped cream, which I did not finish. My aun't spices are from her wedding shower--in 1945. :lol:

1 can Pepsi
2 glasses water
a few sips of a beer I shared w/my cousin

when we came home, we ate some leftovers:
1 bite green beans w/bacon
1 spoonful stuffing
1 spoonful mashed potatoes
1 bowl whole berry cranberry sauce

Not enough water yesterday. But I did ok, considering it could have been a lot worse. I have learned my lesson & don't eat breakfast on TG anymore. And I know that leftovers are dinner.

Not very much fruit, fresh vegetables or milk. Oops. But you know what? It was one day, I am moving on. I only ate 1 plate of food & I am proud about that.

red pepper/spinach omelet
2 slices toast
1 cup coffee, 1 shot a milk, a LOT of ice

1 bowl (1/2 can) whole berry cranberry sauce

1 serving fresh pasta
2 meatballs
1 serving sauce

1 cup decaf orange spice tea

1 large bowl homemade chicken soup (1 big box broth, 2 cans chunky chicken, half a bag of frozen Scandinavian blend veggies & 2 cups of leftover spaghetti noodles, cut up. It was awesome!)
1/2 glass peach fresca w/some frozen raspberries floating in it.
1 small serving fruit crisp
1 miniscule scoop cinnamon ice cream. :( (wasnt enough. being "semi-good" sucks)

Hi everyone! It's the Saturday after Thankgiving... I did ok, not great, but I managed to keep it all under control. Yesterday was right back on program. I went to the gym, did cardio for 65 mins (700 cals!), and did an hour with the trainer. My total cals for the week was 2,300 (300 over my 2,000 cal goal).

Jilly, I'm sorry about your daughter (big hug), I hope everything's ok and I hope you come back real soon.

Well, even after I went a little overboard, I still lost .8 (WW scale) at weigh-in this morning! This week I'm going to Italy for the weekend, so I'm trying to stay focused until we leave. I'll try to weigh-in on Thursday morning, then I'll be gone until Tuesday.

I ate 1580 kcals yesterday supplemented with another 1480 (some sort of snack mix and too many chocolate Smarties) for a grand total of 3060. What can I say? I'm struggling. The urge to snack relentlessly on an evening is too much to overcome.

It's only 11:45 and I've already had two coffees from Starbucks (tall half-sweet, FF, no-whip gingerbread latte and a reduced-fat eggnog latte) and a Jamaican pattie from the Farmer's Market. :sigh:

Edited to add:
I made the mistake of conceding defeat before today really got going. I kind of spat the dummy out and didn't measure anything all day, almost like a defiant brat. Heh, I can be such an idiot at times. :rollpin: I've had some home-made soup, cheese and Triscuits, some roast chicken with olives, and a bottle of wine. Oh, and 2 or 3 chocolate biscuits and the last of the snackie stuff. I guess I'll need to eat again before I go to bed too. I'm hoping I've got that wee tantrum out of my system and will do better tomorrow. :halffull: I take my last dose of antibiotics in 5 hours so that should perk me up a bit too. :crossed:

Dinner: Shrimp creole over brown rice

No exercise

Saturday
Breakfast: 1 cup raisin bran in 1/2 cup milk, and a Morningstar breakfast patty

Lunch: Uncle Ben's rice bowl (teriyaki chicken)
Snack: PB&J on low carb bread with sugar-free jelly

Morning all. I have stayed on plan this weekend, but I am pushing it. I think the heavy carbs of Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving leftovers are making me crave. I even had cookies for breakfast!! But I wrote them down and moved on. This week is TOM, so I fully expect to struggle the whole week. I have only 1 goal. Stay within my 1800 calorie range. Other than that, all bets are off. Yesterday was 1805 calories, but I still consider that on plan.

On a postive note while Christmas shopping with my mom we stopped for lunch at Chili's. *sigh* I knew this wouldn't be easy. I was pleasantly suprised to find that have a guiltless portion to their menu that has the calories listed. It just made it so easy to have a very enjoyable lunch and know exactly what I was eating! Cool!

Oh boy, I was really nauseated again this morning. I came out in a wicked sweat and my legs just buckled from under me. It passed after about 10 minutes, but I feel so weak. This had better sort itself soon as I have to go down to Calgary later in the week.

I'm determined to stay under 1600 kcals today. :yes: If I don't stay sensible, I'll be back over 200 pounds by Tuesday's WI, and I don't want to have to deal with that, thank you very much. :nono:

Sunday! I meant to go for a walk, but I've just been feeling blah all day. I think I'm dreading another work week. I enjoyed my 4 days off!

Breakfast
Breakfast burrito (LF tortilla, egg beaters, green peppers, onions, 2% shredded cheese, salsa, and a few squirts of olive oil spray)

Lunch
5 oz hamburger patty (93% lean) with catsup
About 6 or 7 ounces (2 servings) Ore Ida steak fries, with catsup

Dinner
1 slice pumpkin pie (I made one for under 200 calories per slice -- 199!) :)

And that was it. I meant to eat kiwi fruit as a snack, and shrimp creole over rice for dinner, but I started with the pumpkin pie for dessert and then wasn't hungry. It'll balance with my Thanksgiving feast, I suppose.
