great job Amanda!

Yesterday was pretty busy. I went to the commissary to get baking stuff to make my pies and such. My husband wanted to use my new mixer and made a blondie recipe that turned out nasty. I am not sure whether it was his fault or the recipe's as it was a layered blondie with carmel between and there wasn't enough batter in my opinon to have two layers. Anyway, I ended up cleaning up the mess because he made the stuff, put it in the oven then went and sat down and watched NASCAR qualifying saying he would clean it up later. Now you ladies know what batter in a bowl does being left let alone carmel! I ended up being in kind of a nasty mood the rest of the evening as my legs and ankles hurt yesterday from the cold and I walked a lot and stood a lot yesterday. All I have to do is get through Thanksgiving then I am strict dieting like nobody's business. Jack is going to go back on it with me and we are going to get those lbs off by next December for our vacation.

Everyone have a nice Sunday!

Faye :)

What is it with men and "treating us" by cooking? My husband did a nearly identical thing! He said "I want to treat you and cook dinner" and then used every dish, pot, and utensil in our known existence and leaves it and food all over the kitchen!

So guess who ends up cleaning it all up? Why is it that when a man wants to treat us it just creates more work to be done? :)

Julie- Sounds like you are doing great with the ice skating! You never do anything halfway.. ha ha! :D So when do we get to see you doing some of these jumps and spins?

I'm dying to see Harry Potter too, but I think I'll wait a week or so until the furor dies down. Sounds like it's insanely busy.

I only got 2 points yesterday. I'm too sick to eat anyhow, so it wasnt hard. I wish hubby would take the kids so i could sleep, though...

Up at 4 every morning.. asleep at 7.. I hope the kids start sleeping regular hours soon so i can stay up with the grownups again.

Morning All - sounds like you are all doing well...I am trying to decide if I should eat lunch now ( yes at 10:45am ) as I have to eat dinner with dh's grandma at 3:00 ... I dont know why she likes to eat dinner that early :D

Anyway I am doing great again staying OP, and I lost 5 pounds last week! :carrot: However I am getting down thinking that all the Thanksgiving food might send me into another binge spiral , but I have made up my mind to eat what I want that day and the next ( since leftovers will be around ) and then back on and back to the gym... the only reason I lost so much this last week was because of the gym anyhow ... so I am feeling pretty good about myself, but just want to get back under 200, right now I am sitting at 205, which sucks but oh well, onward we go, right??

I have missed too much to do individual replies plus I need to get in the shower so I just wanted to stop in and say Hello ... congrats to all those last lost last week ( woohoo Julie ) ... talk later!!!

Hello, ladies. Doctor was happy with me since according to his records I was down 9 pounds since last time. Maybe his scale is wrong...or mine.

My husband is not doing well at all. I took him to get a renal panel test done and 2 hours later the doctor from the emergency room called and said I should get him to the hospital immediately! His hemoglobin was down to 6.6 (should be between 13.7 and 17.2) and his other levels were off too and the lab tech called emergency. Now, this is not the hospital I take him to and he was not about to get admitted there since none of his doctors goes there. We have an appointment with his kidney doctor on Tuesday and he said he wasn't doing anything until then. After speaking with the doctor a little more, she says "well, you know this could be indicitative of renal failure" and I told her he had already been diagnosed with that. That calmed her down a little. I really am worried about him. He is getting very weak and can hardly eat. Hopefully tomorrow the doctor will be able to do something. When we were at his heart doctor's office on Friday, he said he thought his symptoms were a worsening of the renal condition and not his heart because that was stable.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Wow, Susan! I hope it works out! That sounds so very serious. So what are they going to do about it? Can they do anything?

Well, my family is all recovering from their cold/flu yesterday and today. Looks like last night was the mark for "officially recovered". Which is great because tomorrow we're headed to Julie's house and we don't want to hand this to their three kids!

I'm actually going to be missing Thanksgiving completely this year. Canadians celebrate it in October (which we missed because we're in NY) and we'll be missing American Thanksgiving because we're taking the time off to visit the Canadian family for a few days. (Julie's house is on the way.) So I can't tell if this is a good thing- no overeating- or a bad thing- no family holiday silliness and fun.

Carri and Amanda! Sounds like you guys are on fire! That's great!

Yesterday I got all of 0 points.. (I know, I know) but today is a whole new day and a new start and I feel great, too!

Hello all,

I got 4 points on Sunday, but only 1 yesterday. I'm getting really disheartened at not losing weight for soooooooo long! I am going to wait for my TOM to be over (which will be tomorrow) and if I still haven't lost any weight, then I am going to have to lower my calories. I've pretty much been at 1600 cals since March, so maybe my body has got too used to that amount. The thing is I am doing so much exercise that I don't want to go too low - I'll probably start by going down to 1500 and see how that goes - anything to get the weight shifting again!

SUSAN - My heart goes out to you! I am so sorry that your dh is so poorly - if he has renal failure, is there any chance of a transplant? I will keep you both in my prayers.

LEE - ANN - Glad your household has recovered from the sickness! Missing Thanksgiving can only be a good thing for your diet can't it? Being from the UK, we don't celebrate it at all so I have no excuse to overeat (until Christmas! ;) ).

Afternoon All ...it is getting really cold here today, it is going to be cold temps and windy flurries for the Thanksgiving holidays...I like that though, just don't like my heat bill, ha ha ... Faye, hope you are enjoying our cold Indiana weather :)

Susan - I am so sorry to hear that your dh is not well, I will certainly keep you and dh in my thoughts and prayers, I hope you have a good Thanksgiving. Take care.

Amanda - I too am getting my TOM this week ( well maybe I have not had one for two months so it would be nice to get one this month, and I have a gyno appt on 12/1 ) ...but with that and all the Thanksgiving food I am certain I may gain back all 5 pounds I lost last week ... but so what ... I can then get back to business next week... I want to enjoy myself.

LeeAnn - glad your family is feeling better... have fun at Julies!!!

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving, I am taking time off from work so I will not be back in here probably until next week ... take care all !!!

Good morning ladies. The doctor admitted my husband to the hospital yesterday. At 9:40 last night they called to tell me they were moving him to ICU so he could be monitored more closely. It's a combination of the renal failure and the CDEF (intestinal infection) again - or still. There is no hope of a transplant because of the congestive heart failure (would need both kidneys and heart at the least) and he doesn't want to go through it. It took 9 tries to get an IV started so they could give him much needed blood so today they are probably going to insert a shunt-type thing into his chest so they can administered blood and other IV solutions. I am living from hour to hour at this point.

I hope all of you are well and have a happy Thanksgiving - don't be caught in the shopping on Friday!

Hello all,

I got 4 points yesterday - AND I've lost another pound! It's not much, but I'll take it! :carrot:

SUSAN - Oh you poor thing, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I will pray with all my heart that your hubby makes a good recovery and comes out of this stronger than ever. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.

LOG cabin - It feels weird calling you that! You are very welcome to join us! I am glad you like the look of our group - we are very friendly and supportive to eachother. My name is Amanda, I am 32 years old and from Sheffield, England. I am currently on sickness benefit due to depression, but am feeling better all the time. I enjoy working out at the gym, reading, things that make me laugh, CSI and my cat, Marley! We are a bit quiet at the moment cause of Thanksgiving, but everyone will be back soon!

Hi everyone!

Susan--I'm so sorry for all your troubles. May they pass quickly so you and your husband can enjoy a quiet holiday together. You're in my prayers!

Amanda--CONGRATS on the 1 pound!! :cb: :cp: :bravo: After a long plateau, I know how good any loss at all feels. Keep up the great work, and don't let the holidays sabotage all your effort.

Carrie--We had snow up here on Wed. and THurs. It was only a few inches, but enough to make one of those absolutely glorious "day afters" where the sun is brilliant and the air is crisp and everything looks like it's covered in glitter. A really wonderful way to start the Christmas season.

Up North--Welcome to our little group!! We've all been a bit quiet during the holiday, but our fearless leader gets back from vacation soon... I'm 37, mom of 3 kids (6, 10 &11), happily married to the man of my dreams. I teach belly dance at night, I write during the day, and I'm learning to figure skate. That's about my life in a nutshell. :dizzy:

Faye, hope you're staying safe and having a wonderful visit!

Talk to everyone soon,
Julie

Hello folks,

Well I don't want to jump the gun, but................I think my plateau is over! After an 8 week drought, I have lost 3lb this week and am finally back in the weight loss zone (I hope!). I would be doing lots of dancing banana's and such, but the smilies don't seem to be working! I now have only 3lb to lose before I have lost 4 stone - which to you folks is 56lb. I really hope that things will get moving again now as that plateau has really kept me back.

Well I went out on the town with my friend last night and we had such fun! It was the first time I have been out to a bar in years - I was a bit worried that people would be full of attitude and I would feel out of place because of my weight, but that was not the case at all, everyone was really friendly and were just having fun, and there were lots of 'big' women out, they all obviously don't lock themselves away for years like I have done! I got dressed up really nice in smart jeans, nice top and high heel boots - I straightened my hair, AND put make up on (I haven't worn make up in 10 years!) - I must say I felt pretty good about myself! I tried to get Nigel to take photo's, but our camera is rubbish and they came out all blurry. I am disappointed as I really wanted to have some photo's of me looking my best. The good news is my friend and I had such a good time that we are going to go out once a month - so I'll try again to get a decent photo. It was so nice to go out and just have a laugh - I got pretty drunk and ended up dancing most of the night, which is something I never thought I would do as I am usually too self conscious!

Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving!

SUSAN - Hope your dh is fighting back and is getting all the care he needs to get through this.

Love Amanda x

Evening ladies! We got back around 4:30 but had to unload, take the rental car back, pick up some dinner then clean the whole mess up from the trip. You know me, can't wait until tomorrow so it is all put away, cat litter all cleaned, animals all fed and taken care of, luggage all unloaded, trash all collected and taken out and Christmas presents all put away. I have two loads of laundry washed and one in the dryer and have 2 more to finish then we will be back to normal! :) Had a nice time in Indiana, but darn it if it doesn't snow on us every time we go up there. Did the very same thing last Thanksgiving. It was nice to visit with my family and my friends, whom I miss so very much. Keep your fingers crossed as my dil has quit taking the pill and they are working on having a baby, whoopee!
She bought me the most beautiful handbag and told her fil that she is going to buy me one every year and said she thinks next year instead of a bunch of smaller gifts she will get me a coach bag! COOL!!!!!

Amanda: You are doing spectacular, keep up the good work. Glad you had such a fun time with your friends. We went out with some of Jay's and Alicia's friends to a bar in the Marriot hotel on Wed night and that was fun. Particularly since one of the guys picked up the bar bill! :carrot: We then had dinner at a fun hot wings type restaurant and that was a blast too.

Susan: I thought of you often while in Indiana wondering how your hubby was doing. We are praying for you and I will send him out on a prayer chain.

Log Cabin: Please come and join us as these are great gals, lovely range of ages, marital status and what not. We would love to have you post with us and join in on our topics and our points system (see instructions with first post of the thread)

Julie and Lee Ann: Hope you guys had fun together. Had lots of good food and friendship time.

Carri: Hope you are enjoying your time off!

I am pretty pooped as I didn't sleep well the whole time. We were in a double bed with our dog, Jack is 6'2" and I am wide so what a time we had in the bed trying to sleep. The mattress was comfy though!

I will talk to you all in the morning!

MONDAY: Today is Mission Monday and our mission this week is strength training. You need it at least twice a week to jump up that metabolism and to help with muscle strength and tightening. Let's put some strength training into our routines starting this week.

Good morning girls! I slept pretty well last night as I had more bed! They do have 3 cats and I have a cat allergy so am kind of doing the human hairball thing this morning and trying just to get back to a routine.

It is raining like crazy here so it is a good day to knit, knit knit, but I have to get the laundry done and my regular chores and cleaning for the day done too, so better be off to that! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Log Cabin: :wel3fc: Just a little about me, I administer the thread, am 52, have been married 33 years, have two grown married kids and a grandson. I don't work, but enjoy puttering around my condo and knitting and reading. Have a little yorkie named Fortune and a tiger tabby named Butterscotch.

Afternoon All ... first off Susan, I am and praying for you and your husband,
please know that we are all thinking of you and I know things will get better.

Faye - Glad you had fun in good ol Indiana ... I really liked waking up to the snow that morning ... made it feel all festive, ha ha :D

Julie - As I was telling Faye above, we got a little snow but it did not stick around...they say some more nasty cold weather is coming though ... I am like you - I like snow, so I don't mind ...

Amanda - Congrats on the losses, it does seem like your plateau is quite over, you are doing such a good job!!!

Log Cabin - Welcome !!!

I had a great ( and filling ) Thanksgiving...I just hope I can get back on plan for a while, at least until Christmas Eve, then I pig out again
Today is going to be hard but if I can get through it I will go work out and then I should be able to stay OP ... all of that Thanksgiving food was so gooooooooooooo though !!!! I know I shouldn't say this but it almost seems like going back OP for three weeks before Christmas is pointless, BUT I know that I could probably gain 10 pounds or so between that time so I should try to stay on ...oh well .... give me strength Girls!!!!

Well hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and lets get moving this week!!:carrot:

Hi, ladies. Just a quick update on my dh. He will be having surgery later this week for an ulcerated intestine caused by the bacterial infection he has been battling since July. Hopefully we'll be able to finally get him on the mend. They are going to move him to a hospital at the University of Virginia Medical School for the surgery - no one here fully equipped to deal with everything (kidneys, heart and this).

I'm hanging in there.

Keep the prayers coming, please.

Hello girls,

Well I was suffering from a bit of a hangover yesterday so there was no way I was going to the gym - I still didn't feel quite right today, so gave myself another day off! (I don't normally drink, so it hit me hard! ;) ). I am raring to get back though and feel that I am last getting back to full fitness after my illness at the beginning of the month - it's mad that it takes so long to get back up to full health! I am hoping that my plateau is over, but I'll be happier if I can lose a few more pounds to make absolutely sure!

SUSAN - Thanks for the update - I have been thinking and praying for you often, and will continue to do so.

FAYE - Glad you enjoyed visiting your family and friends. Lets hope you will get that much wanted grandchild sooner rather than later!

CARRI - Glad you had a great Thanksgiving - I am sure it won't take you too long to get back into the swing of dieting again (before Christmas comes to get you off track again!)

Hi to Julie & Lee Ann - Hope you enjoyed meeting up!

TUESDAY: Today is Target Tuesday and our target this week is Control. Do we honestly have control over food or does it control us? Do we think we have a handle on it or in truth do we struggle too much? We need to look at how food affects us this week and work on why it controls our lives. If we are stress eaters, boredom eaters, etc, we need to start working on helping ourselves to replace stress with exercise, stretching, relaxation techniques. If we are bored, taking up a hobby that involves your hands like painting, knitting, pottery, etc. We have to conquer control issues to be able to have ultimate long term success.

Morning girls! I am again up very early with allergies and what not. It is very mild here this week and stirring up what is left of pollen and such so I am back to sneezing, etc. I will just nap a little later this morning if I am tired.

Sounds like everyone had a fine time over the weekend.

Susan: Every one of us will promise to continue to pray for you and your husband. When you are down and sitting just waiting, just remember, we are ALL sitting there invisible holding your hands.

My sister and bil are a mess. My sister looks horrible, is having a myriad of health problems now, some of which she is causing herself and my bil looks so frail. He was so thrilled to get to come to Thanksgiving for a few hours, but he was ready to go back when they came to get him. His MS is to the point now where he cannot sit up right in a scooter style wheelchair and has to use one of the large high backed electric ones. Boy, I can tell you honestly, I will NEVER get gastric bypass. My bil's sister had it about 18 months ago and had a lot of problems with it to begin with, but she now looks like a skeleton. Not thin and healthy, but thin and ill. Her face looks like just skin against bone, no fullness whatsoever and she STOOD UP to eat and all she did was pick at her food. She says she can't sit down to eat or it makes her ill. I know some people are thrilled with the results but I am not taking that chance ever! Her dd had the lap band and now is fatter than before I guess. She didn't come to dinner.

Well gals, I need to go and fix the toilet upstairs. It is running for some reason.

Faye :)

Hi everyone,
4 points for me yesterday :carrot: I weighed myself this morning, which was dumb cuz it's TOM, but I only gained about 1.5 pounds over the holiday...so I'm happy. Dunno if I'm going to reach that New Year's goal or not, but at least I'm getting loads of exercise. Taking the day off today to write. I have two deadlines on Thursday, and I really need to get cracking.

Faye, that weight loss surgery stuff is SCARY! I just can't imagine it.

Well, hope everyone has a great day...I'm off to write about sports bras.

Hello,

I got 2 points yesterday. My scale is still showing my loss so I am pleased that it wasn't just a fluke that I'd lost a few pounds! I am looking forward to the scales continuing to move downwards now. I've been to the gym today and had a good workout which has got the last of my hangover out of my system!

It's not long till Christmas now is it? Nigel and I have agreed that we are not going to go overboard with food this year. Normally we go absolutely mad and just pig out from the week before Christmas until the first week of Jan! I've worked so hard this year to lose 50+ lb, and I've struggled through this plateau, I don't want to set myself way back. We are going to have some permitted treats (a nice roast dinner, cheese and crackers, a pudding), but I am not going mad buying tubes and tubes of Pringles, tonnes of chocolate and cakes. Last year it was buy one get one free on Pringles and I got through about 8 tubes! :o I feel quite happy about this and don't feel like I'll be missing out on anything - wow, that is a real change in me!

What are everyone elses plans for Christmas?

WEDNESDAY: Today is Wednesday's woe and we can gripe about whatever we want. Our diet woe this week is why over everyone in this world are fat people still discriminated against most?

POINTS:

Julie :bravo:
Amanda :dancer: and a big extra :carrot: for going the extra mile to keep Christmas foods in check

It is really cold this morning and I am freezing down here in the kitchen. I am up early again and want to stop this bologna!

Did you all see biggest loser last night? Amazing what you can do eating healthy and exercising isn't it? Some of them looked truly fantastic. I noticed the one young woman had only lost 16 lbs and got up there with a pretty sour look on her face and one guy didn't show up at all and may have gained back. Getting control of eating is no easy thing, that is for sure.

We are again going down to the casinos for Christmas. We are staying Friday through Sunday nights and my dd and sil and dgs are coming down on Sat to go swimming play games in the room and such and got to a buffet down there then have Christmas with us, then we have Christmas day to ourselves to relax. I am almost done with Christmas buying. Finally bought my sil's leather gloves on Monday and oooppppssss, they were having a clearance and a buy one get one 50% off sale and my cyber shopping cart accidently had a $60 leather handbag drop in it! It was terrible, couldn't get it out   and had to buy it. Low and behold, I got it for $10!!!!! Have to hide this one for awhile since I just got one for Christmas from my dil.

We went out to get a bite to eat last night then to Old Time pottery factory to look at dishes. Found the perfect ones in a big 55 piece set in yellow and blue to go with both my dining room and my kitchen, then Jack found beautiful blue stemware and we bought two sets of it. We came home and cleaned out cupboards for the Goodwill and made Jack promise all the bags of stuff is finally going to go this weekend so I can get the garage cleaned up.

Well, gals, gotta go for now. Have a great day everyone.

Susan: We are still with you in prayer!

Julie: Now what is all the things you know about sports bras you didn't before the article? :D

Hi everyone! Boy what an intersting trip. We 4 plague rats had a lot of work this weekend. I'm not sure, but I think we may have given our colds to Julie's family.. but they gave us theirs, so we brought that up to Canada to our other friends' house and traded that one for a third-theirs. So we just had to share and share alike, and I think we brought That One back to Julie's house again... How's everyone doing, Jules?

So.. we left having thought that we beat the heck out of our cold/flu, then the kids came down with another, but finally beat that one, but by the time we got home, we all had a third (the yuckiest of them all) and now we're trying to get over that one.

Gotta love the season.

About missing Thanksgiving- boy did That backfire! Dave felt bad becasue I was a bit low about missing it completely, so during the ride, we had a mini-Thanksgiving at Denny's (YUCK!). Then when we got to Canada, his parents gave us another one, but our friends also felt bad for us and gave us Another one! So instead of missing all the crud, we got it three times! I'm just glad that Julie didn't insist on it, too! ha ha. So I ended up gaining a ton of weight (like 5 or 6 pounds.. I'm afraid to step on the scale).

But I did manage to get some jogging in over the weekend on Michelle's treadmill.

Susan- My heart is with you right now. I think about your husband a lot. I know it doesn't help much, but it's all I got. :(

Afternoon Everyone ....

Faye - Yes I have been following The Biggest Loser all season and was so excited to watch the 2 hr finale last night ... I could not believe how great they all looked, well except the one you mentioned with the sour look on her, I think she was like that because she was embarrassed that she had not lost any weight since leaving the ranch and everyone else had done so well...Suzy didn't even look like her old self, and neither did the men ...ya know it really did push me into getting into my program again, they lost all this weight in a matter of 9 months or so ... so why do we have such problems losing 5 pounds in a couple of months??

Amanda - I am with you, I have already decided that I was going to eat what I want on Christmas Eve and day and then right back on ... last year I put on like 20 pounds between Thanksgiving and middle of January, I cannot afford to do that again!! You are doing a great job!!!

Julie - That is great that you only gained 1.5 pounds over Thanksgiving....I think I gained like 4 :(

Lee Ann - There alot of colds going around here too, I am sure hoping that I do not get one as I have no more sick time here at work until 1/1/05!!!

Susan - How is DH? Hope all is getting better ...

Well I have my gyno appt tomorrow for my TOM problems....I didnt have one in July, did have one in August, and then have not had one since ...so now I am 3 months in a row w/o one... I am worried but I know I need to get it checked out, so wish me luck ....That is my Weds woe ...

Talk to you all later!!

I am happy to report 4 points for yesterday. Nothing else happening here - I've got a bad headache so I am going for a lie down. :(

CARRI - Hope your gyn appointment goes okay - 3 months without TOM (and def. no pregnancy) is worrying.

JULIE - Thanks for the kind words - any chance of you getting to 199 by Christmas? I don't think I'll make it, but I'll def. get there by the end of Jan!

FAYE - Another handbag!... You naughty lady you! :nono:

LEE-ANN - 3 Thanksgivings - that really made me laugh! Hope the weight gain isn't as bad as you fear!

SUSAN - You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love Amanda x

THURSDAY: Today is Time for Us Thursday and I want you to take a little time for you today. I also want you to be thinking about January 1, 2006. All our holiday celebrations over, we need to commit that day to starting some good old fashion hard work! Let's get on the ball girls and start planning our program to really make 2006 the year we succeed and get some of our ladies out of weight loss and into maintenance!

POINTS:

Amanda :bravo:

Carri: I think they all looked spectacular, but I think the absolute best was Dr Jeff and Pete. They were the biggest and the ones that really had to suffer for awhile because of their size. They were kind to everyone, never sniped at any one person and didn't get snotty when they were sent packing. A couple of the girls look great but I thought were always so snotty and snooty about everything. Maybe that is why two years in a row, there has been 2 men and one woman at the final three. I noticed a couple of guys from last year's show (the winner was one of them) in the audience cheering them on, which I thought was nice.

LeeAnn: Glad you had a nice time even with colds and too much turkey!

I have a lot to do today girls so I need to go. Let's keep in mind what I said today about next year. It is only a month away!

Faye :)

Hey! 4 points yesterday, and I'm back down to my pre-Thanksgiving weight....Yay!

Don't know if I can manage to lose 9 pounds this month, but I'm gonna try. My girls are old enough to do all the holiday "goodie baking" for our relatives by themselves. So, I think I'm gonna just let them do it and I'll go hide in the sewing room until they're done. (that's the plan, anyway....we'll see if I actually do it)

gotta get going...everyone have a great day!

Hello,

4 points for me again yesterday! I fully intend to reach my goal weight some time next year - the sooner the better! I started this diet on Jan 1st this year and I am proud of myself that I have stuck with it, and whilst I could have lost more if I was stricter with my food, I am happy with a 53lb loss in 11 months. At the beginning of the year I was hoping to lose all my weight (about 127lb) in a year, but I think that was unrealistic. I think 18 months to 2 years is more do-able. My plan is to keep up my gym regime and keep counting the calories - and try to have more good days than bad days. Most importantly, I know I will not give up and I will keep chipping away at this weight until I am a healthy weight.

JULIE - You could lose 9lb by Christmas - as long as you are OP and sticking with the gym. Congrats on getting your weight back down!

Have a lovely evening all,

Love Amanda x

3 points here for thursday. I am assuming that crawling around all of the McD's play tunnels with a baby and a toddler count as cardio? If not it should be!

We all just have a small cough left from our last weekend and the kids are (yay?) perky and back to using everything they see as a jungle gym. :)

I'm up to 160, so I guess I did gain quite a bit on the trip... but I'm determined to lose it again before our big romantic ski trip we have planned in ... oh my gosh! just two weeks!

Arg. where's that treadmill? Let's go sledding! Lock the refrigerator! but most of all don't.. p a n i c ! !

Hi ladies!

What a freakin' roller coaster yesterday was...sheesh! I got 4 points, and am down to 208--which is 1 lb lower than I started before Thanksgiving...so WOoo Hooo...

THen I went skating and I think I've mastered a one foot pivot thing that's been driving me crazy for 2 weeks....so WOoo Hoooo

Then I went home and finished up/turned in two articles...the editor wrote back almost immediately saying they were "awesome" and "perfect" (something editors NEVER do)...so Wooo HOoooo

Then I stayed up all night with DH trying to figure out the answer to a problem that there is no answer to except major, life altering, total F:censored:ing upheaval....so Boo HOOOOOO.

I'm exhausted. DH is more than exhausted--he's pretty darn close to having a stroke or something from all the stress he tries to hide from the family. BUT we're all healthy and safe and I'm trying really hard to count my blessings...I hope you all don't mind me unloading here, cuz I can't really talk about it to anyone here. On the bright side--I"M DOWN ONE POUND!

Sigh. I'm gonna go skating now. It'll cheer me up, if I don't bust my *** from no sleep

Everyone hug your dear ones and have a wonderful day!

Amanda - congratulations...you seem to have a sound plan and are doing well, I know you will reach your goal!

Julie - sorry for the problems, especially at Christimas. Hope you can get them sorted out soon.

Update on my dh - He is at home and the visiting nurse is coming twice a day to administer IV antibiotics. He is doing better but they consensus of the doctors is they can't do surgery until the CDEF infection has cleared up. Coincidentally, they was an article in the newspaper about CDEF this morning - he is a classical case. The big problem is the bacteria are mutating as fast as they find antibiotics to treat them.

Afternoon Everyone ... I was down 2 pounds this week, which is good, but considering I gained 4 pounds over Thanksgiving I still have some to lose before I really cheer and move forward...I just hope I can get through this weekend w/o ordering pizza !!! :(

Susan - Glad to hear dh is back at home and doing well, I will continue to pray for you both.

Julie - Sorry to hear you are going through some stress, whatever it is I hope it gets better soon ... one day at a time as they say ... good job on the 1 pound down - you could be at 199 by January, but then you wouldnt get to enjoy any food at CHristmas and what fun is that??

Faye - I agree, some of the women were snooty but they looked good enough to be snooty I guess, ha ha

Leanne - You can lose that weight before you go, just dont eat...Just kidding...

Amanda - You are doing so well, I believe that all of us are going to lose alot of weight next year, and you and I ( and Julie ) will get way below 200, way below !!!!

Everyone have a great weekend - I am going to do a little CHristmas shopping I guess, see ya!!

Good morning gals! It rained here last night and I guess I didn't even hear it or it was quiet! lol

Just a quick peek in this morning as I have been vomiting and I think it is just allergy related, but still takes it all out of you.

Susan: I am so pleased he is home. Now if you guys can get a handle on his problem maybe you can get what needs to be fixed fixed. We will continue with our prayers for you and your hubby.

I finally got all the Christmas shopping done except my sil's parents, whom we always buy something for and I will get that at the last minute. We usually exchange those "preboxed" things like the sausage and cheese, or the soup bowls and soup etc. One year she got me these long handled soup bowls and out of all my bowls I like these the best.

Anyway, hope you guys are having a great day and keep up the good work.

Hello all,

Sorry I wasn't able to pop in yesterday Faye - I hate leaving you all on your lonesome! I've had some wobbly days foodwise - had a bit of a binge on Friday because I was feeling a bit low and stressed. The good thing is I felt physically rotten afterwards - really fat and lethargic, I felt like I'd gained about 10lb over a few hours! So, I won't be doing that again in a hurry. I got myself straight down the gym the next day and felt back to my normal self. I think I have realised that I just can't really eat like that anymore (3 cheese rolls, 2 packs of crisps, then pizza for tea) - it's how I used to eat pretty much most of the time, but it left me feeling pretty crappy. So that is a valuable lesson learned! I am sure I'll do it again (Christmas comes to mind), but I know it will just be an odd occurence and there is no way I could eat like that all of the time anymore!

FAYE - Sorry you've been sick - hope it's just a 24 hour thing.

JULIE - Sorry you are facing trials and stress - just keep talking about it with your dh so you can share the burden until you can find a solution. Stress is a killer - especially among men who bottle things up. On a more positive note, WTG on the pound down! :carrot: (and the ice skating thingy!)

CARRI - Yes, we will be WAY below 200lb next year. I reckon at least 50lb under!

SUSAN - Really glad to hear that dh is out of ICU and back at home. I know he still faces surgery and will pray for his continued recovery.

LEE-ANN - Racing around after 2 little ones counts as constant cardio I think!

MONDAY: Today is Mission Monday and our Mission this week is food tracking. You may need to keep a food journal to keep track of how much you are really eating. Try it for a week and you might be surprised what you are putting into you mouth.

Amanda: Don't worry about me on the weekends. If I see no one has posted the day before, I just set up the post and give a rah rah to people and that is it. I appreciate you thinking about me though.

We had dd and dgs over for a few minutes last night. Poor little guy broke his table (it was nothing special just an end table with fragile legs) and so we played Bingo on the floor. He is reading now and it is exciting for this old Nonny. I can't believe how fast they grow up. I remember when Julie's Ben was this age and she was commisserating about him going to kindgergarten.

Well, I have breakfast cleanup from Jack so better get to it. Have a good day gals and I will try and peek back in later.

Faye :)

Hello ladies!

Great news.. I'm down 4 lbs to 156. Guess Thanksgiving wasn't as dire as I thought.

Last night was awful. It was either a full moon or close to it and there wasn't a cloud in sight. So Amelia (2 yrs.) thought it was around 6 AM all night and wated to get up and watch tv and do her usual morning things. After 4 hours of trying to convince her to go to sleep, I gave in to desperation at 3AM and gave her some NyQuil. (I felt so Bad Mommy!!) Then we cuddled on her toddler bed together (cramped? Definitely!) until she finally fell asleep.

I'm wiped out! DH slept through the whole thing, and (blessedly) so did Deanna (8 mos). Coffee! Where's the coffee? Ha ha!

Anyhow, I got no points yesterday. I was great until about 7PM and then started eating almost everything I could get my hands on! Yuck. Don't know why, though. If I could figure that out, maybe I wouldn't binge like that. :(

I guess something inside me knew I needed the extra energy for the coming night. Haha.

Well, every day is a new start!

TUESDAY: Today is target Tuesday and our target this week is GOOD snacks. Snacking is not bad, just has to be controlled. Always try fruit, raw veggies and ff dip over something else, but when in mood for salty or sweet, try a sugar free fat free jello with a little ff cool whip, some baked potato chips or tortilla chips with a little salsa. Don't deprive, revive but keep it under control removing portions from the bag and putting it back etc.

LeeAnn: good for you girl! Sorry the little one was so antsy.

I will check in a bit later gals

Faye :)

Hi all,
4 points for yesterday...1 hour of skating and dance class is loads of exercise! I had an okay weekend eating-wise. Saturday I went to a party, but the food was upstairs, and most of the people were downstairs in the basement....so I did eat, but not too bad. Then Sunday I had a weird binge thing after fighter practice. I wasn't hungry, but I just wanted to EAT! I stopped myself before it got too bad, thank goodness. Seems I'm not the only one who had a weird binge thing over the past few days...maybe it's the moon or something.

Lee--CONGRATS on the 4 pounds down!! That's awesome!

Faye--It's so funny to hear you say "I remember when Ben...." I guess we've been friends a long time, huh? We should really meet each other some day

Amanda--WOoo Hooo for you--you recognized bad eating patterns, stopped it, and then went right back to the gym. THat is amazing!!! congratulations.

Carrie, Way to Go on the 2 pounds down!!

DH and I have decided to put off making any life changing decisions until the kids are out of school in June...so I'll be stressing about this crap for some time to come. Basically, he hasn't had any real work to do at work for 4 years and our government in Maine has screwed up the budgets so badly that it now appears the entire engineering industry will disappear here. So, it's likely we'll have to leave paradise and find a home somewhere else. I don't mind moving, I've done it plenty...but we worked so hard to get to Maine, and we've sacrificed so much to stay here. It just SUCKS that circumstances beyond our control are going to force us out. But things could change :crossed: we could win the lottery....

Well, I should have woken the kids up 20 minutes ago...better get a move on.

TTFN,
Julie

2 points today.

Cool (for us) news!! Our oldest daughter is OFFICIALLY out of diapers.. forever!! Of course, there are still going to be accidents (we've already had one today), but no more diapers! YES!!!

We knew it was over when we took an 8 hour trip in the car and she had a dry pull-up all day, and for the entire trip, and even through naps and overnights!

So our grocery bill has been chopped by a third... more presents for me! (just joking)

Also, I've been sewing and researching and doing all kinds of stuff while the kids have been napping for the medieval group I'm in. I feel like I'm getting so much done.

Anyhow, that's what's new here. Hope things are great for all of you, too!
