I did week1/installment one of couch to 5k last night and week1/installment2 this morning. I'm playing catchup this week to get me back on track. Normally it would just be on MWF for it. If I feel up to it I will walk during the biggest loser but it's not on my actual I really really want to/need to do list this week.

Dawnyal - Good to have you back... although I've been gone the same amount of time as you! We gotta do this! Exercise is so important! I know you can do it, just don't overdo it, or you will want to quit... or thats what happens with me anyways. So how can we keep eachother accountable? Can I help you in any way? Since we both are struggling, I just want to see if somehow we can kick eachothers bum back into things..

Today I did 2 Miles WATP fat burner, I haven't done it for a week.. it was pretty hard, and I don't feel better for doing it... lol.

Don't I know it. I was just thinking last night as I was walking/jogging that exercise is the ONE thing I CAN control. There are times when I just eat whatever/whenever but I can make myself do 10 minutes of exercise. Many times 10 minutes turns into an hour without me thinking about it. Plus if I exercise more I can eat more :D

LOL about not feeling better doing it.

11-16-2005, 01:45 PM
Look at all this exercise going on in here. :)

I was going to do my c-5k regime this morning but my inner fat chick told me it was way too cold (like 25) and I agreed with her. Instead I'm going to do the thing tonight before dinner when it will be closer to 40 since I've never run in the cold before. I didn't want to shock my system. If I do fine tonight then I'll go ahead and get up in the morning for the week 3/routine 1.

11-16-2005, 01:56 PM
Tues-30 min treadmill
Wed- 45 min treadmill (planning on doing some weights tonight.)

11-16-2005, 05:16 PM
I ran just over 5k (30 minutes) then did level 20 hills on the treadmill (fast) for another 20 minutes.

I have to admit. I WAS NOT going to exercise today. I just didn't feel like it. But it seemed no matter what thread I went to everyone was talking about working out today. I took it as a sign and got off my lazy behind and did something. I did Billy Blanks Basic Bootcamp and I feel so much better. Thank you everyone who indirectly pushed me to exercise today.

here the link to the couch-5k

11-17-2005, 11:36 AM
today I did 5 miles on a random setting on the recumb. bike and 10 mins!!!! on the elliptical. My legs are hurting finally! :)

11-17-2005, 12:58 PM
Sounds like a great workout Liz. WTG.
I didn't get in my c-5k workout last night like planned. Jeff had to fix his motorcycle and by the time he got home and could watch the kids I couldn't convince myself to get my nose out of my book and outside in the cold.
I'm planning to walk during survivor and possibly do the c-5k while the kids are eating. we'll see on that though.

11-17-2005, 01:48 PM
Liz, isn't that pain just great! That elliptical is a killer in my opinion. Dawnyal, I hate it when I plan on something and other stuff gets in the way. Can't stand to exercise outside in the cold either--don't know how people do that.

November 16

Sad to say that I had a nasty virus yesterday and so did absolutely nothing. My mind said yes, but my body just wouldn't follow through. Today I'll probably do an abbreviated workout since I'm not 100%--but much better than yesterday.

November 17
35 min. weight lifting
40 min. treadmill (jogging/walking combo)
10 min. abs & stretching

Decided to go for it, and did okay. Feel pretty good right now. Zicam is great stuff! :)

11-17-2005, 02:36 PM
Sheila - you definitely want your body to heal! Hope you are back too 100% soon!

I did 2 miles WATP (which I believe you sent me Sheila?), I didn't really enjoy exercising... well I can't say that. I got on the scale, and I just feel like crying, I am eating whole foods, lots of fruits and veggies, drinking more water than normal (but not retaining), and it just doesn't fricking BUDGE! I'm watching those calories, fat grams, exercising... I thought maybe it was muscle gain, but everything still FEELS tight. I'm just frustrated.. Thanks for listening to me rant..

11-17-2005, 04:56 PM
Well, I feel good. Just finished doing a half hour of cardio, would have done more but I have to leave the house soon and I got in some walking this morning so I don't feel bad about it. It feels good to be moving.

11-19-2005, 04:33 PM
November 18

40 min. hydrofit

Meant to do more exercise, but life got in the way. That's okay, though! Maybe it'll keep my body guessing. :)

November 19

30 min. evil elliptical
30 min. walk/jog combo on the treadmill
30 min. weight lifting
10 min. stretching and abs

November 20

1 hr. walking

11-19-2005, 04:37 PM
I went last night and did 10 mins on the elliptical, 5 miles on the bike, 7 mins on the arc trainer and upper body (push and pull) 3 reps of 10 each

gained .6 this week?

Gonna try to go tonight too.

Liz, if you're just adding weight training and increasing your exercise, you might not see a difference in your weight in several weeks. Don't let it make you give up!! I've been sitting at around the same weight for a while, but my body is changing for the better. I can see it in the fit of my clothing, and everybody keeps asking me if I've lost weight. It's a bit disconcerting for me to get on the scale (and you might not want to for a while), but I'm confident something will give soon. :) So hang in there and don't let it get you down, okay?
