welcome to our little group. we are a group of people who check-in almost daily to support each other on our journeys to weight loss. we are friendly,genuine people who's purpose is to be there for each other and all are always welcome!

I have been coming here for a few weeks and I read and occasionally post a remark or so. I would like to participate in an almost every day exchange of supportive caring. I know it is a matter of fit, some do and some do not with any group. So here is hoping I shall fit and become a part of your group.
I have a very long road ahead of me in weight losing terms. I have lost 20 lbs and am hovering at that point...up one down two up one down one ...etc. I have increased my exercising: I do weights mwf and toning tthsatsun and try for a cardio walk a day along with stretching of course. My diet is calorie counting; and now fiber counting for elevated tryglycerides. The hard part has been to cut out sugar totally for the tryglycerides. I like sugar in my morning tea. So I am cutting down both on the sugar in each cup and then tea only every other day. The fiber counting had bee hard, only because I am finding it difficult to find the fiber count of some things. All my diet books are pre-fiber-is -important; and online I have checked 36 sites and they each have a few items but not a nice list.
Well that is where I am . I need some support as my family and friends are too self-involveds and bored with my fretting over calories or fiber or whatever. I guess I also need a spot to vent frustrations.

Hi There Wannabe!! :welcome3: hope you enjoy the group!! I think everybody that has posted with us has fit right in nicely,so there is no concern there!I am in the same boat as you as far as the yo-yo effect! I go up 2-3lbs. then I'm down again after a few days,without a change in dietary habits,maybe its water retention! :lol:
Along with the diet and exercise advice we tend to chat about our daily lives on this post, and have gotten to know each other well,and I look forward to getting to know you!

hey all, I had a good week last week. We had a HUGE party to goto last night and I got to see so many people that I havnt seen since March (when I was at my heaviest) and they were soooo surprised..although no one said anything to me, I saw lots of them look at me like they couldnt believe it was Made me smile!

Hi Everyone,

To introduce myself to those I don't know

I am a 30 yo, mother of 2 girls( that drive me insane), I live in Australia, I don't currently work, but am looking into a career change.!

I love the 3FC site, it really keeps me on track having to tell people how i am doing! (or not doing! LOL).

I have been trying to get into running (only done 2 sessions thus far) but I can see an improvement already , first time i had to do 1 min run, 1 min walk!, the second time i did 5 min run, 1 min walk. But I plan to be able to run 7 km (4.3 mile) about twice a week, on top of all the other stuff I do (walking, weights, kayaking.... )

I don't follow any diet plan, just kinda keep my cals under 1800, try to drink as much water as I can, and try to love myself a little more (which is probably the hardest!)

Looking forward to getting to know you all a little more!

There is a thread called the 8 week Christmas thread that has put out a challange,how do you all feel about starting our own 6 week challange right here on this thread??I hope some of you will like the idea,I think this is just what I need to get my butt in gear!All you have to do is set your own goal weight for Christmas time!

hey all!!!!!!! :welcome2: welcome gonna and icedragon!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry about ur back wendy, i screwed up my back on sat at work. i was lifting a golden onto my table by myself. cuz i think im super woman! and then, i felt my sciatica go into full drive. i hope you feel better. where the heck is kelli? i hope shes ok. andrea, sorry about not getting back to emails. i rarely check them and when i do its in a glance. i rarely reply. cuz i suck. lol im the same way with my phone. people hate it.

so im easing my way back into my diet after a slight departure. i keep trying to drift back to my old ways. but then i catch myself. it soo crazy what 2 days of undieting can do to me. its like trying the clothes on but not buying em. or wait wait. its like buying the clothes, wearing them for the weekend then returning them. thats it. lol so i havent lost a significant amount of weight in a long time. and i know what it is im just being lazy. im doing the same thing i have been for months. and now my body is used to it. i need to change things up. i need my motivation back. it'll come back soon. with a little help from my girlies. <3

:T breakfast treat: whole wheat waffle toasted with reduced fat peanut butter. its soooooooo good. i need my sweets in the morning. the peanut butter melts and its like heaven.

Hey girls! I MISSED YOU! I hate to be a big poop ... but I had a really bad & unmotivational week ... though when I got on the scale Saturday, instead of being mad for not losing anything, I was grateful I didn't gain. I won't go into my terrible cheating ways, but let me tell you, that scale should've been saying DAMN GIRL YOU CHEATER but it stayed ... LOL Anyway, I'm back on track & tomorrow I'm back to my ways of health & exercise so no more MIA for me ...

Sorry I haven't been my regular self, I felt lost without y'all but I have to tell you, I've been so damn stressed out I don't even know what to do with myself! I've been looking for another job and in my spare time being a really big ***** and snapping at everyone who talks to me and yeah, I've been pleasant! :( LOL Though, for now I'm in better spirits, I surely hope going to work tomorrow doesn't change my mind and make me ANGRY again, I swear I am getting in trouble everyday now that my cousins want me fired for whatever reason. I still don't know and I can't get in their heads & figure them out so I need to stay positive and keep applying for new jobs! Which is what I did today. Whew.

Enough complaining ... WELCOME all newbies! You will be seeing a lot more of me from now on :)

Hey Andrea, thanks for missing me! Hi Wendy & Jen ... you guys missed me too and I'm grateful :) LOL I would've felt bad if no one missed me so yay! You girls are sweeties! I will be back tomorrow ... scout's honor! :)

I am really going to try to stay on track today. I didn't get to exercise last night. Too busy getting ready for the week. My oldest DD woke up not feeling well today. :(

I work 10:30am - 3:00pm today, so I will check in later.

My day got worse because I found out it wasn't my cousins after all ... I don't know who it was but one of them confronted me and they proved their innocence to me and now I feel like such an *** and I just hope I can make it work out. Though, I'm still applying for other stuff.

Needless to say, I cheated again today though ... AHHHH tomorrow I'm back on track -- for reals! :)

Andrea -- I don't see a chiro ... I really need to, my back is ALWAYS hurtin ... LOL

Welll girls, Looks like it was pretty quiet around here today!!!?What happened to everyone? Hi Diane,no I don't go to a chiro,I have to much wrong with me!! So tonight I went all out and had McDonalds for supper :mcd: wasn't that bad! I enjoyed it for a change,maybe because I have'nt had it in a long time!! Hi guys,

I haven't and am not planning to do anything excercise wise today! need a break for a day! though it does feel like I am cheating when I am not!

Jen I assume you work in a vet clinic and were lifting a golden retriever? I did that today, my poor girl has got a problem with the heat lately, and she sctratches herself to pieces! I have tried cortisone tablets, tried everything, today I went and order dog clippers to clip her coat back to see if it will help. I had to lift her into the bath today and I really know what you mean by your back! And I am lucky she doesn't weigh as much as most!

I haven't put up the christmas lights and stuff yet, but I have started painting some big wooden boards, one is a picture of the simpsons in a sled with reindeer going towards the moon, one of an australia santa in a holden ute! and one of just santa and his sack of goodies. Most people say I am the Christmas Grinch so this year I am going to suprise them all! With pictures hung on the house.

Today has been a bit dismal here! one DD is screaming and yelling, because the other went to a friends place after school. Wish they would stop the fighting and get along. I never had sisters to fight with, is this usual between 2 girls? And it has been HOT! with yet no sign of rain, another drought in the making.

I hope tomorrow is a little better!

Hi Diane!!! 1 cup Cheerios is only 110cals!! and 1/2 cup skim milk is only 45cals,the yogert is like 100cals so for 255cals I get a decent breakfast! oh, plus the 2 cals for the Splenda!Almost time for lunch! I think Scotch Broth soup,only 120 cals per can,or cream of chicken which will be 184 cals per can(if I use water instead of milk)Either way I will be full of energy to do my afternoon workout!

andrea you are sooooo right. thanx for bringing out the truth. at least for me. i havent been working out lately, and ive been eating well just not as well as i would like. so i havent really been into posting lately. i kinda felt out of the loop. i felt like how can i give advice when i suck!. lol so anyway. im down about me this week. im sorry for not responding about the xmas challenge, i just knew that i wouldnt lose anything so why participate. I NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS FUNK! im gonna start over fresh tomm. i havent been to the gym since last wednesday. :o( what happened to my plan? i think i need to start entering my foods into fitday again. i havent in a while. thanx for letting me vent.

icedragon- sorry about youre golden.Im a pet groomer and i know as soon as the cold weather comes we see a lot of bad skin conditions. a lot of it comes from the forced heat in homes. it causes a lot of dryness and dogs get itchy. so if thats what you have then you should consider getting a vaporizer or humidifier. and if youre gonna bathe her urself you should buy oatmeal or medicated shampoo. hope that helps.

Oh No!! diane has threatened to use the Smileycentral! How cool is that!!
Well for dinner I had 4oz. of ham and about 1 1/2 cups of homemade mac and cheese.It was pretty good! Tomorrow is a new day!! Time to get tough with myself! My ex boyfriend who lives in Norfolk,Verginia is coming into town within the next 3-4 weeks and I have to look HOT HOT HOT!!! Now is the time I need HELP, HELP, HELP!!!!!!!

Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok so I am feeling a little better today....I had WI this morning and I have lost 7 more lbs!!!!! I am sure it is because I have been sick the past few days..but hey...I am NOT gonna be picky lol

Ok Girls!! How are you all today?? I am doing ok!! Well as you can see I lost 2lbs!!! I dont know how!! Must be the Cheerios and ham!! LOL (thats for you Diane!!) I am going to do my 1hour workout tonight,and my 20mins. on the bike right away! I have full intentions of being 130 something by Dec.1st!!!Hope all is great in your lives today! Did any of you see Winnipeg on the news?? We got 2 1/2 feet of snow in one day!! Thats alot! It was also on the net yesterday! Until this evening,Wendy

well I am NOT doing so well, I have hit a very stuborn plateau. I am around 33 pounds gone out of 60 and can not seem to move. I even broke down and tried (notice I said TRIED) to eat my favorite candy bar...I picked on up at the store..unwrapped it, and took a bite...OMG, I could barely eat that bite let alone the whole bar. I gagged down the bite, and rewrapped the bar and told Hubby he could have it.....apparently I do not really like the taste of chocolate anymore...(IM NOT SAYING THAT IS AT ALL I need to get moving off this plat. again I can hardly take it. Maybe it is because I am constipated? I have had cronic constipation since I was a kid... :(

Hey! Has anyone tried coconut???I am serious! Go for a bounty chocolate bar or whatever you like with coconut and you'll be goin' by the next day!!I learned this trick in Verginia,and it worked great!!
well back to the proudest moment~my proudest moment was staying on that stupid bike the whole 20 mins.!!!! I find it hard on my knees for some reason!

Thanks for the invite Wendy to join you all, I didn't see your message about the smilies until today and I see you posted it Oct. 29th. Then I had a hard time finding you, but I'll subscribe to the Few good friends today.
I turned 60 years old this year, have been married 40 years. My weight has gone up and down like most of you over the years. My biggest problem with weight gain is drinking too much Cabernet wine. I'm not a big eater, but wine gets the best of me. So last July 9th, I went cold turkey and stopped drinking it. The pounds have just melted off me and I don't exercise. I'm very, very active and usually fall into bed at night from exhaustion. So I don't think I need any further exercise plus I have bad feet. (Plantar Fasciitis) and bunions. I have tried joining other groups on the 3F.C. but they all get too big. I have been retired from work for about 8 years and spend lots of time on my cp. I would love to check in everyday and get to know you all. I just scanned all your messages, will have to go back and look at them better when I have the time. I did take special note of wannab and her calories counting and fiber. I too count calories and my daily fiber. I have this wonderful food scale made by Salter. It has fat content, sodium, cholesterol, carbs, fiber, protein and calories for food. I average between 35 and 40 grams of fiber daily and never have a constipation problem, plus eating all that fiber keeps me full. I know we're not suppose to advertise products on this site, but Apples, Fiber One cereal and Flatout bread will get your fiber way up. The cereal only has 60 calories per serving and 14 grams of fiber and the Flatout Bread has 110 calories and 15 grams of fiber. The bread looks like flat bread, measures about 12 inches across. Sometimes I just eat 1/2 of it. Hope this info helps! You can send me a seperate e-mail if you want for more information on fiber. Most people only get about 15-20 grams of fiber daily and we should be getting 25 -30 grams daily. I think it pushes everything through you before it has a chance to jump on your hips!

just an added note on fiber:

barill plus pasta has 7g fiber in it and so does dececco whole wheat pasta. kidney beans, gorbanzo beans and manishewitz light rye bread has 6g per 2 slices

hi guys~!!!!!!!!! welcome Bobbi and Lynda!!! listen i would love to be really happy and chipper today but i cant. something happened at work that really traumatized me. i felt physically ill all day. i work at 2 different grooming shops. the newest one i work at is owned by an old coworker of mine and im the only other one who works there. anyway, today her and i were grooming a cat who was getting a little vicious. who could blame her (she was 16). so the cat tried to bite her and then it happened. The cat fell off the table and scratched my boss. when the cat hit the ground she KICKED HER!!!!. like stomped on her. i was beside myself. NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE WOULD I TOUCH AN ANIMAL. I DONT CARE WHAT IT DOES TO ME, ITS CRUELTY. i was so disgusted. CRYING ALL DAY. i was in shock. how could you abuse an innocent cat? old at that. i was so baffled that i went home early. but i didnt say anything to her. i regretted that all day. so i called her and left a message to the likes of this. "i wanted to tell you that i was really uncomfortable with how you handled the cat today, it made me really upset. and i cant work in that environment. its just not who I am". i went home and hugged all my pets. ladies, i know this has nothing to do with diet and exercise but it just tore me to pieces today. i feel naseaus. as u can see i love animals too. you never know what goes on when youre not around. i only trust myself! thanx for letting me vent.

ive kinda been snacking around all day, not committing to one food out of nervousness. but i feel much better since the messege i left.

i hope everyone is doing well. KEEP ON GOING GUYS!!@!@!@!!@!@! LIFE SUCKS BUT AT LEAST WE CAN TRY TO LOOK GOOD !!!

Hey everyone else. Welcome Bobbi & Lynda! Hi Andrea, Wendy, Tiff, Georgie ... um ... who else is on here? Crap I'm bad now that I have been MIA myself. Woooo. Anyways HI EVERYONE! I miss you girls, as always! I keep saying I'll be here more often and then life gets in the way.

I'm gonna be honest with all of you -- I haven't been doing good at all. I haven't even been trying. I've been eating bad and not working out one bit. I am not fully given up though, I still want to get the weight off, I'm just kinda taking a break & gonna start over fresh. I might go back to Weight Watchers -- knowing that I'm paying and someone is gonna weigh me and if I don't lose weight after paying makes me SOOOOOO mad so I usually stay pretty motivated on that program and it's worked for me in the past.

Anyway, right now I'm actually thinking there is a slight possibility that I might be pregnant (gonna take a test tomorrow) so I will let you all know the results of that as well. I am single & not trying to get pregnant ... but I'm also 23 and an adult and would be happy & find a way to make it work.

Well .... I'm gonna go watch some tv and relax but I will be back tomorrow! :) Love to you all!

Hi Bobbi, no I just eat alot of veggies, but don't write it down, I know that is my mistake, Like today I ate 1/2 a plate of different veggies with 1 egg, 1 ww toast, pc of chees but how do I count the veggies when there is such a variety. I know I likely sound dumb but I have never counted calories before, I have not tried to lose weigh before seriously either, so Now that I am ??? Good news is I went to Tops and I lost 2 pounds!!!!! this week

Good Morning!! It seems like I eat breakfast and lunch together these days! They are only within 2 hours of each other! Doesnt matter,it's working!!I am not going to weight myself till next Wendnesday,It will be 1 week at that piont that I kicked it up a couple notches!
I got to tell you that my buttocks are KILLING me at this moment,and there is NOOO way to streach the muscles there!! :D
I feel pretty good though!
Breakfast will be 1c. ff skim milk,1/2 c. grapefruit juice,and a cereal bar!
I am only going to do 10mins. on the bike today,I am going to do step 2 on my workout tapes and is is alot harder than the first!! and longer too!

I eat all three oils and totally believe in them. I take many vitamins and I'm going to harp on fiber again. I would like to see all of you keep track of your fiber intake for one week. Anyone interested? It would prove to me something, than I'll harp some more. I have successfully lost all my weight, thanks to fiber intake.

O.K. this is what I did today so far: 56 mins.of hard core aerobics/weights
15 mins. on my abs,and about 15 mins. of yoga/streaching.I feel great,and my biceps hurt!! I didnt even know I had biceps!!! :D
Tonight all I have to do is my 20 mins. on the bike and I'm set !!!!!
I think I deserve a little snack,don't you?? 1/2 c. of yogurt here I come!!!!

bobbolink- i used to mix flax with my peanut butter everyday, but ive been lazy about that lately. thanx for reminding me to get back on track with that.

guys please give me some tips and examples of foods with high fiber, i need some edumacation about it, lol i really want to up my fiber now.

so guess what...i left that messege right? wrong, she couldnt hear it. so my plann was foiled. the whole reason that i left the messege was to avoid talking to her. anyway, she called my other job and yes it was me who answered the phone. (of course) she asked me to tell her what i said on the machine. and when i did, she was mighty pissed. let me tell you. but oh well, what goes around comes around. i think her words were, "your gonna leave me like this?" (meaning cuz she has 18 dogs booked for tomm) too bad, cancel em! cuz i aint comin in. lol i feel empowered! and believe me im not a confrontational person. if you knew me im actually kind of a wimpy passive person. but not anymore! love you guys!

I made some great FIBER soup this week, Every bean I could find in the bulk store, Soaked them all night, cooked them a bit, threw them all into a crock pot with veggies and turkey mmmmm good, now how do I count the calories and fiber in a bowl of homemade soup????

It's really simple but time consuming to get the exact calories in your homemade soup. Weigh all the raw vegetables individually, then calculate the calories. Do the same for the meat, beans, etc. I weigh the finished soup, convert it to ounces and divide the total calories into the total ounces. You then have calories per ounce. If you don't have a food scale, get one. You can buy inexpensive digital scale at WalMart or anywhere. They make life soooooooooooooo much easier. I made up a food chart of things I eat often that I could send you, everything is in ounces. For example; Apple, raw - 17 (put your pitted apple on the food scale, if it weighs 4.7 ounces, multiply that by 17 = 79.9 calories) I have all kinds of fruits and vegetables on the list, plus many other foods and it's very handy. I have the list on my computer so it would be easy to send it to you if you're interested in being a calorie geek like me.

Made a great recipe this morning, I have never been able to eat oatmeal, just didn't look good to me, But I told myself I was going to eat it this time FIBER!!!!! Here is the recipe if anyone is interested from "Good Carbs, Bad Carbs"
2 c skim milk
1 tbs. marg
1/4 cinnamon
1/8 salt
3 tbs. brown sugar
1 med apple, peeled cored and chopped
1 c rolled oats
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
cooking spray
preheat oven 350
spray 1-quart baking dish cooking spray
combin first 5 ingredients in a pot, Heat on hight for 4 min to scald milk
add apple and oats, cook 1 min, remove and add vanilla
pour mix into the preparaed baking dish, bake 15 min
remove from oven and stir, sprinkle with nutmeg, return to oven 15 min
serve warm with 1 tbls cream, if desired
makes 4 cups, 1 cup serving
166 cal, 27 grams carbs, 8 grams protein, 3 grams of fat

Now is that high for breakfast calories??

hi Andrea, Good luck with your flooring Jen, we put laminate flooring down last year, my husband built a huge shelf wall to wall, and as were trying to push it back, there was a screw underneath it and it scratched our non-scratch floor, See turned out I didn't lift my end up enough, hmmm, needless to say it has been a sore spot for a while, the reason I mentioned this is because he is just fixing it today, Had to have someone ELSE come to pull the shelf back out, pry up the floor and now he is trying to piece it back together, I am staying out of his way, eeeeekkkk, it was pretty heart breaking when it happened after waiting so long to get the new floor, it has taken this long to even go back to it. heres hoping it will work for him

Lynda............This recipe sounds good, think I'll make it tomorrow. But you can shave off 244 calories for the total recipe or 61 calories per serving. Use Brown Sugar Twin in place of the regular brown sugar and omit the margarine. Or you can use the new Splenda Brown sugar which is half the calories of regular. You can spray the top of your serving with butter spray if you want a buttery taste. Not the cooking for pan sprays like Pam, the eating 0 calorie spray. Or you can dab a bit of lower calories margarine on just before you eat it. But I'm going to omit it in the recipe, it won't be missed. Thanks for the recipe. Now how am I going to e-mail you the calorie per ounce list, it's too long to post here. And we're not suppose to give out our e-mails. Maybe I can send it to your privately over this site? I'll try.

thanks Bobbie, I will change my recipe, I didn't even know brown sugar came in Slenda I am really behind. I knew it could be dropped down a lot, I will be happy when I can see to do that
