Another fun poll....
Do you have a "skinny" outfit you know is the first thing you're gonna wear when you lose the weight? If so what is it? That little black dress in the back of your closet? Maybe a bikini? Can't wait to hear what your choice is then I will tell you mine.

Andi - LOL - I have several pairs of jeans that fit JUST like that. . . I also have a black column dress (very tough for us pear shaped chicks) with a slit .. . I would love to be able to wear that - It did fit for a brief, shining moment, and I didn't have courage to wear it. .

I have a teddy I bought last year and looked like shamoo in after holding my breath and getting help to put it on. I bought it anyway and it hangs in front of my closet. I am wearing it this valentines day come **** or high water!
I have a pair of over priced 7 for all mankind jean sitting in my drawer taunting me. I am going to get those suckers to fit before the end of the year.
I can get them on...but it's not pretty.

Julie - I have a size 16 pair of jeans on right now that are low - not too much, but I still have to hang on to them when I sit down if my shirt isn't long enough (I don't like spillage so I don't usually wear shorty shirts! :dizzy: ) The ole bottom tends to fill everything out but leaves plenty of room in the waist!
Shennie - lingerie!! Yes, I plan on visiting Victoria's Secret for some really cute pj's by Christmas. I am the :queen: queen of pajamas. I am truly the best dressed woman going to bed. I have tons of Karen Nueberger - thanks to Oprah!! DH even bought me a pair of KN from Oprah's boutique with the Oprah signature on it for Valentine's Day - love those pajamas. But, I need something a little less "mom-ish" and a little more "tongue-hanging-on-the-floor" :o

I have to fit into some gawd-awful bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding in September. And yes, it will be gawd-awful ... she's already ruled out anything re-usable. But that's not what motivates me ... I'd like to be able to fit into the high-school clothes. Not because I had such cute stuff, but just the principle of it.
I'd really like to appreciate my legs enough to wear skirts.

What a great poll idea Beanie! Guess what, wranglers were one of my thoughts too. I started dating DH when I was a sophmore in high school, and I was dang hot in my size 3 wranglers. I had a red pair that were my fave. I don't even own a pair of ropers anymore, but I guess I could wear them with tennies. I can't wait to suprise DH on a date in my "Hot Pants"!!

I wore a size 7 in high school and would be happy to fit back in to a size 9 wranglers or silver lakes. Good luck to all!!!:spin:

This is a fun question. The first thing that comes to mind is a pair of Guess jeans that I bought in Grade 11/12. Those jeans cost be an arm and a leg - they are button fly, pretty lose rise and fitted. I think they are a size 8/10.

Ropers are lace up cowboy/girl boots! :dizzy: You are two funny. Yes wranglers are jeans, cowboy jeans. Now most girls with wide buts wouldn't wear em cause of the pockets on the back can get really far apart if you know what I mean ;) Now just in case the NFR is the National Finals Rodeo that is held in Las Vegas every Dec. We are getting tickets for Dec 06. You really think we are hicks from the sticks here in Idaho don't ya?!!!

I used to wear ropers and wranglers (bareback style, no back pockets) right after I had my son, mid 1995 I fit into size 5's. Now I dont want to be that small anymore, but I want to wear size 8 jeans and around a 10 in dress pants. I dont have anything in my closet to help me, but I am looking forward to actually wearing shorts and tanks next summer, since after I gained this weight (60lbs) I decided that shorts were bad and the shortest I have gone since were capri's...
So shorts/tanks

Okay, the Texas chick has to weigh in on the Ropers! Ropers aren't just lace up - mine are a beautiful gray pair. (By the way, they are Justin Roper cowboy boots)
As for the Wranglers - no way!! I'm not old enough! In Texas, Wranglers are what the Daddys wear - young people wear Levi's!!
DH has graduated to the Wranglers and he even said "I can't believe I'm at the age that I wear Wranglers now." So, I wonder if that's a Texas thing??
I am not a kicker, but DH was in high school. I only listened to country music in high school when we were dating because he did. I still love George Strait, but as soon as we got married, I scooted back to Journey, Bon Jovi, and the like!! :lol3:
When we were dating, Huntsville State Prison still had the rodeo, so we would go to it. Growing up in Houston, we never missed the Rodeo at the Astrodome. I still love the rodeo!
But, I will wear my Ropers with some Levi's! :D

wtxchick- thanks for clearing up the ropers...i was gonna go back and post they didn't necessarily have to be lace up....but the ones I want to wear are lace ups....And here no wranglers aren't for daddies they are for cowboys. I guess you've never heard wrangler butts drive the girls nuts?? Man nothing finer than a cowboy in a nice tight pair of wrangler if you know what I mean. LOL The bigger the belt buckle the bigger the rodeo star!! LOL

That cracks me up, beanie!:lol3:
Nope, I never liked Wranglers because I think the pockets are too low. Even skinny, I thought they looked horrible on me. Now, the kicker girls in high school wore the Wranglers without the pockets on the back, but I wasn't a kicker, so I skipped that. I'm more of a rocker who fell in love with a kicker!! (Although, I got a thrill seeing Steve Perry in the crowd at the World Series!! That's my kinda guy ;) )

1. TUCK my tops/shirts in
2. Wear slacks/pants, skirts that don't have the mandatory elastic waist.
I want a button/hook closure.
3. I want to fit this beautiful size 12 white button down the front dress that

So glad that I ventured off of the monthly thread. Didn't realize there is so much more on this board.

Beanie~ I am only too big for certain pants, and it is killing me. Mainly my dress slacks are to big and falling off of me, but my jeans are still tight. I can't understand it. I have sewed some darts into my dress slacks to keep them up and i don't plan on shopping until after I meet goal and a few month after I start toning, so I will have to keep eadding darts until then. I can't afford to buy in between clothes on a graduate students budget.

Oh my goodness! A kicker is a euphemism for cowboy, originally derived from "sh*t-kicker" - cowboys being around horses and cows...you know... :o Maybe it's a Texas thing?? Of course, Houston's biggest country station is KIKK!
Anyway, in high school - not just mine but also all my cousins all over Texas - cowboys were never referred to as a "cowboy" but as a "kicker."

I bought some new jammies the other day that remind me of this. I can truly say that for the first time in MY WHOLE LIFE, I have started feeling sexy recently. For religious reasons, I never allowed myself to be sexy when I was thin. Now that the weight is coming off and I am liberated, I feel so much sexier than I ever have. My new jammies are pink satin. The bottoms are capris, the top is spaghetti straps. Dang, I love those pajamas.

Beanie,
Thanks for bringing this thread back up. I was rolling on the floor reading it all. I will say that in my hope chest discoveries that I unearthed 3 pair of roper jeans and 1 pair of rockies. Those jeans can make any butt flattering. They all fit and the first time I wore a pair to work a few weeks ago, everybody for the first time in 45 lbs. was asking me if I was losing weight. My DH followed me around like a dog in heat, and couldn't keep his hands off me. That did wonders for the ole confidence level. I can't wear the wranglers though, butt's too big, waist is too small. I have a pair of button up pinstripe Levis that I bought when I was in high school that are my ultimate goal jeans. I have always loved those jeans and only wore them a couple of times I think. I have them currently hanging on the front of my closet to give me motivation every morning.

I also want to be able to wear Levi 501s. They are the softest, most comfortable jeans I've ever had... so as soon as the c-section jelly is gone....
